That's USA Fencing dot org slash try fencing. We'll get
your prep for some college football heading up this weekend
and with the college football Playoff in a week. NFL
(01:03):
Action Week seventeen starts tomorrow with a triple header of
games on Christmas Day, then two games on Saturday. I'll
be going to the Chargers Texans game. I think I
told you, and it'll be the first time I've ever
been at an NFL game at so far. So it's
it's been around my cousin's coming into town from Wisconsin.
(01:23):
He's excited. He wanted to go see a Chargers game.
So thank you NFL for putting that on a Saturday
and not on a Sunday where you and I'll team
up with Kerrie Rhoads here on the End Zone Radio
on Fox Sports Radio, but checking out Texans Chargers. It's
also good because there's no other games going on at
the same time, so you're not missing those games.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
It also seems like a good matchup.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
We're discussing how there aren't great matchups tomorrow on Christmas Day,
but you're going to a good matchup, so that'll be fun.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
The NFL has their flex scheduling where they have five
games that they kind of put on hold in week
seventeen and then they wait to see the season played out.
The Seahawks Panthers was a game that was actually could
have been a Saturday game, but they decided let's go Texans, Chargers, Ravens, Packers,
the Cardinals Bengals was a game that could have been
on a Saturday, so could the Giants and Raiders those
(02:16):
without playoff implications. They just threw them on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
I mean, I think the Seahawks and the Panthers can
be a fun one. But the two that they flexed
are good, are good, But the Seahawks and the Panthers.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Can be fun.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
That's the tricky part with the Panthers is because they
and the Buccaneers hadn't played until last week for the
first time, and then they play again next week, and
the Panthers getting that win huge for them. But now
you have the Seahawks coming to town with a little
extra rest after that win against the Rams, and the
Seaks have been for there's the narrative of the teams
going west and playing at one o'clock eastern. They're going east.
(02:49):
Excuse me from the West going east and playing at
one o'clock Eastern time kickoff. Seahawks have been really good
in that spot as of late. They actually won in
Jacksonville earlier on the season. We'll see if it bodes
well for them Sunday against Carolina as the Panthers have
a lot to play for. I'm sure Panthers fans would
like to wish upon a win for their fans. We're
gonna do a little Secret Sanna here on Fox Sports Radio.
(03:12):
We have each put a name in a hat and
we mixed it up. You could not pick your own
could not pick your own name. But you are to
give a gift for your secret Santa name. Does everybody
have one? Isaac, do you have yours? Do you have
your secret Santa name? He does, BoA's set, Chris is set.
Everybody's got something different than what they wrote down. Moncey, ladies,
(03:36):
first plight here. Who's your secret Sanna twenty twenty five?
Speaker 5 (03:41):
Secret Sanna for twenty twenty five is the one and
only Jerry Jones.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Jerry Jones give.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
The Cowboys owner in general.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
Man.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
I thought of a couple of things, Remember some Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
I thought about gifting him, Hey, George Pickens extension ave
on Mexican coch.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
I thought about I thought about that.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
But I'm going to give him a time machine so
that he can go back to the nineties and live
the good old days that he's still trying to live
now because they're not here, babe. So I'm going to
give him a time machine so he can go back
and live those three Super Bowls that he's holding on
to thirty years later.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
He has my still own line.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yes, yes you are.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Just keep it, just keep it, just keep it going.
I'm here for all. He could have got him a monkey,
I got Yeah, got him a time machine, a time machine.
I think that's under the thirty dollars limit that we
have here.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Is that what we do? Well, you know, he doesn't
count a little bit.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
I wrote. I was the one that wrote Jerry.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Jerry johnes that's a good one. That was a good one.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I was curious on where you were going to go,
if you were going to go a player, if you're
going to make a Parsons coming on the way back. Yeah, No,
the time machine. He loves the time machine as well
because he loves to look back as him safe. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
The door Wars WO.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Send him back to live his heyday at the Glory Days.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, the glory whole days as he calls them, as
well as oil. Yes he does. Yes, he does. Striking
it rich.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Because it's been a long time.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yes, cowboys not making it to the postseason this year unfortunately,
so hopefully that gift of yours will brighten up Jerry
Jones exactly, Bill Benson, do you want to go?
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Sure?
Speaker 8 (05:27):
I pulled Lane Kiffin coach ls.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Oh wow.
Speaker 8 (05:31):
I got two gifts for Lane Kiffin. First one is
a classic book series we all remember, job hunting and
career change all in one for dummies.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
He will need that again.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
He will need that again. We all know he will.
Speaker 8 (05:46):
You know, just he could have handled it a little
bit better, Lane, But it's the season of forgiveness and
the perpetual hope, so everything will find That's why I'm
also going to get him the River Road Recipes the
Textbook of Louisiana Cuisine, because he that food out in
Louisiana at least for the next couple of years.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Oooh boys. Lane Kiffin also posted a shot of Tiger Stadium.
This may have been last night, maybe it was on Instagram.
I can't find it, but it was just very blurry
and out of focus, and there was a telephone wire
in that went over Tiger Stadium where the wording was.
(06:25):
And I just thought to myself, let's take another picture,
like it's okay. I just realized he gets a hang
out with a live tiger. Now, Mike the Tiger. Yes,
they have a live tiger on campus. I am what's
going to happen here? I don't know which version of
Mike the Tiger I saw, but I did see it's
right next to the football stadium. That's a that's a good,
(06:47):
good recommendation for Lane Kiffin. Yeah, Isaac Low and cron
who did you draw?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Okay, I've got the paper right here. It says on
the paper Monsey. Please don't tell Dan the nuts McGee's
actually my Burner accounts since Deerley Isaac up, Sorry.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
This is nuts McGee seven.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Yes, okay, tylu.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
By the way, who wrote Kiffin raised their hand?
Speaker 8 (07:17):
Who?
Speaker 1 (07:20):
All right? I wonder who wrote Tyler?
Speaker 4 (07:22):
I wrote, Oh surprise, he give you some gifts?
Speaker 5 (07:25):
All right?
Speaker 3 (07:26):
With that in mind, I'm also going to the book
the bookshelf. This is a very practical gift. It was
a book that was published in two thousand by those
distinguished PhDs Alan A. Kava Iola and Neil J. Lavender, PhD.
(07:46):
The title Toxic co Workers How to deal with Dysfunctional
People on the Job Working with Narcissists Borderlines sociopaths and
others unquote, and I got a thirty seven percent off too.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
I'll tell you what. I think that chrismas came early
for Tylu because Chris Paul was let go by the Clippers,
and everybody just assumed it was Chris Paul's fault. Yeah,
so no one was ever placing blame on Tylu. And
then we saw the practice clip come out the words
I don't know if it was it's not words exchange,
(08:23):
but the words said by Tylu, and Chris Paul was
trying to say, like nobody thought, and maybe that's wrong
of us, but nobody thought, Man, Tylu must be the problem.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I mean, I'll just put it on Chris Paul's I
did not put it on Chris Paul.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
You did not. You're one of the few.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
I did not put it on Chris Paul.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
But you're right that most people that was, oh, it's
CP three, when in reality it's like, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
No, No, that was the gift that keeps on giving.
Chris Purfett. Who did you have for all?
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Right, let's see here this is Jonas's Wnba parlay. I'm
not sure what this is doing here, which one which one, Uh, well,
it clearly didn't cash. So actually there's like a whole
stack these in here to clean these out. Sometimes, Okay,
here we go Justin Jefferson oddly specific. But okay, which
(09:15):
which one's oddly specific? Justin Jefferson or actually both, Well,
this is specific. We could be getting him books here.
But I feel like time Machine feels I should do
something extravagant and we should move him, maybe gift him,
I don't know, a new team. It feels like this
is kind of this. This year in particular, has felt
(09:36):
like the justin the Crash down to Earth, that there
was a lot of quarterbacks that could make Justin Jefferson work.
And I think we finally hit that limit in that
JJ McCarthy is not that. And I would know because
I've been front and center with him on my fantasy team.
And I am officially now the last place in our
fantasy league, which, as I've told Monsey and Dan several times,
(09:57):
we hand out incredibly cruel punishments in our league.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
So it's gonna have to do. We have to endure
the punishment now.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yeah all right, yeah yeah, And it's not not not
something that should be not a punishment that is suitable
for on air either.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I must say, but I do.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
I do feel like the time is shorter for Justin
Jefferson there than it is longer at this point.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Why didn't you just give him nine? Give him give
him some good nines, just nine. You know what nine is?
Nine is JJ McCarthy's alter ego. I know, I think
I've had enough of nine for a life to have
JJ McCarthy. You've got nine all the time. It's always
nine because nine is nine is just a different beast.
(10:45):
That thing is the lamest thing in the national football
It's even it's lamer than the face paint.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah, yeah, nine nine a lot of EyeBlack. He uses
way too much EyeBlack for a quarterback. Ever should happen.
I don't get it. I don't get it. Jackson Dart.
Speaker 8 (10:59):
I never thought there would be someone that's more annoying
than Dak Prescott. But JJ McCarthy somehow is and.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
And so quickly.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Yeah, this has been virtually a rookie year for him.
So this is just I will say this as well,
I think that Justin Jefferson has handled that situation much
better than other star wide receivers would have handled that situation.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Could not agree with you more.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
He has been a model athlete, and he had He
had two catches for four yards against the Seahawks, yep,
and that was after he started the game with one
catch for negative four yards. They threw him just a
meaningless pass with Max bros Morin just to get him
the eight on the second reception. But you haven't heard
(11:44):
him complain. You haven't heard him pout. You haven't heard
him say I wish my old quarterback was here. None
of that, or old old quarterback, none of that. And
he could have other wide receivers would have taken the opportunity.
Justin Jefferson did not.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
I agree. I'm glad you brought that up, because it's true.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
We literally have aj Brown complaining when that team is winning,
and there's Justin Jefferson. And it has been an ugly
season for the Minnesota Viking.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Maybe this is from beginning to end.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Maybe this is a result of too much Minnesota nice.
Maybe we've got to give him some lessons and how
to be really market.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Maybe maybe that's it. We'll buy him a copy of
The Prince. You didn't give him a sign that says
home with the state of Minnesota as the O in it,
Like that is it's everywhere? Yes, oh, because every state
does it? Even ones that don't fit like that don't
make any sense, like Idaho, like which was shaped like
an L. But you could put it as the yell
(12:37):
and people like, oh, your home is Idaho. That's where
a home is? All right? Who had Justin Jefferson? That
was Bo Benson? All right, I'm the last one. And
I and this is Max Crosby, all right? Who had
Max Crosby?
Speaker 2 (12:52):
That would have been mine?
Speaker 1 (12:52):
All right? By the way, very good handwriting, Chris purfet
I almost thought it was Manzi's. It was so good.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
I think, did you write Miami.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Your hand on a good job, very very good, Bo Benson,
Max Crosby. While Chris wanted to give Justin Jefferson a
new team, I'm just going to give him a new
head coach. I think that it is one and done
with Pete Carroll. I think that Max Crosby is the
perfect Raider, Like even the tattoos look good in the outfit,
(13:26):
so putting him somewhere else just doesn't fit. And honestly,
the Raiders, the Raiders need that player. They need a
Raider player that is only Raiders. Like growing up, there
were always Raider players that you knew of and those
have now come fewer and far between. So I don't
want Max Crosby to go anywhere. I want him to
(13:46):
see it through and it may be a long climb,
but I just think that they need another change in
Las Vegas, and hopefully then that coaching change will get
it right because the Pete Carroll era just is not working.
I don't think that Pete Carroll is in it for
the long haul. So I would say a new head
coach for Max Crosby.
Speaker 5 (14:06):
I agree, and I hope he sees it the same
way like he is Raiders, Yes, you, and there's not
many teams who have a player like that, right, like
a player who is the identity of the team, and
he is that. So I hope he agrees with you,
and that he doesn't. He doesn't seem like he wants out.
He kind of just knows that this is this is
where I'm at, this is home. So you can get him
a home sign.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I wrote this. I wrote this down because I heard
I heard his quote earlier today someone I think asked
him about you know because the Raiders are basically playing
for the first overall pick, yeah, against the Giants here
this weekend, and he just gave such a Raider answers
like I don't give up yeah about all of that
and just everything about that, by the way, that's it's
(14:47):
gonna go hard. Biggest misconception in sports.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
If you hear anybody at a at a party, at
a get together, at a game, or on any platform
of sports discussion, whether it be a podcast show like
this whatever, when they say you should take the two
worst teams and play for the first number one overall pick,
it's such a dumb idea because not one player on
(15:14):
those teams cares if that team gets the number one
overall pick, right, It doesn't. In fact, there are teams
that don't want their player their team to have the
number one overall pick or a top pick, because it
could mean them losing their job because of the player
that would be drafted in. It is the biggest misconception
that current players on teams care about where their team drafts.
(15:37):
They're the only people that don't. Fans do, gms, do
scouts do coaches do? Everybody cares except players on that team.
So to play a game for a number one pick
in the NBA or in the NFL or whatever is
just the dumbest idea that there is.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
Yeah, it's hard to it's it's hard to kind of
your picture yourself on the team. But you're right, even
if you're on the practice squad. It's like, I don't
want anybody.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Coming in here.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Who cares?
Speaker 4 (16:04):
I don't want?
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Yeah, what do I care?
Speaker 4 (16:06):
What do I care?
Speaker 5 (16:07):
It's and yeah, you're not even just the stars, the
ones that are like fringe players, the starters, they're the
ones who really don't want this.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
So it's like, yeah, sure, ask Gino Smith on who
you want if he wants his team to get the number.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
One let me tell you no, No, Then.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
They end up taking a quarterback and then guess what,
Gino Smith's out of a job just for that example. Yeah,
or there it is our secret Santa to those in need.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
That's good the job.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Yes, very well done, Jerry Jones. We hope you get
everything that you asked for that segment. Getting off the successful.

Merry Christmas everyone. I'm doing fantastic. Besides this rainy weather.
The only thing I'm not happy about but.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
The college football. The college football playoff is a little
ways away, so I want to get to that. Last
I want to start with the NFL because I have
an overall question for you. I'm amazed at how guys
like you handicap the NFL preseason. Are there any parallels
to the end of the regular season for how you
guys handicap the NFL considering all the new names and
(20:42):
faces that we're seeing at the end of the year.
Speaker 6 (20:44):
Yeah, it's a lot of It's like drinking from a
fire hose, Dan, And honestly, the regular season and there
are differences, obviously, but because of all of the injuries
and just the news cycle, which is just vicious, the
one thing that's changed the most is the five years
that I've done this publicly. I've been gambling on sports
since I was probably before, I want to admit, but
(21:07):
five years of doing it publicly and that time from
twenty twenty to now, the news cycle has just gotten faster,
and it's just more things are happening and more you know,
quarterback injuries are taking place. We're going deeper on the
depth chart. We have more information available as well, more data,
more metrics, more strategies, so you just have to keep
evolving with it. And yeah, there's definitely similarities. You just
(21:28):
have to be really good with your Twitter notifications and
you have to know who's playing, and then you just
have to beat the market because you do get some
times where you know news will break. I think the
Vikings lines thing is a perfect example. I do a
podcast every Sunday night where I just go through all
the games and it's more for me than for anyone else,
just to go through all the games and kind of,
you know, sift through what I saw and to try
(21:49):
to upgrade or down grade teams. I saw that Lion's
Vikings line on Sunday night drop at six, and I'm like, man,
JJ McCarthy's not playing and once that news becomes formal
that Nomber is going to move, and once it did
become formal Monday morning, all of a sudden worth seven
and a half. So that's where if you do your
work and you're uplate and you're kind of grinding through
all these games and you're really you know, looking at
(22:09):
all the information, you can kind of get ahead of
the market a little bit.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
How does it work? Click just to follow up on that. So,
like Brady Cook of the Jets, so he's gonna get
snaps in the preseason if he's a rookie saying, you know,
playing the second preseason game, now he's playing in the
in the regular season game. How much does that like
play into, Like the line on Brady Cook himself, how
much does it play in? Because I just I'm amazed
(22:35):
at how you guys can make money on the preseason,
which to me is so much more of a craption effort.
People say that preseason's easier than regular season, and I
just have a difficult time like finding that correlation. And
now when you have Max Brosmur to your point, or
Brady Cook, you know, to my point playing quarterback in
week seventeen, I have no idea how to handicap that
(22:55):
sort of play.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
So you know what the funny thing is, I actually
in the beginning season art. Now, to be fair, there
could be changes to this.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
They could.
Speaker 6 (23:03):
For example, Philip Rivers is a great example. He is
not someone that I prepped for sure, but I during
the preseason, I make a chart of every quarterback and
I actually post it, and I actually post it in
relation to the points Bread. So I'll post the Bills
Josh Allen as a plus five in terms of five
points better than an average quarterback, and then I'll have
the backup Mitchell Trubisky as a minus two. So what
(23:23):
that tells me is if we go from Josh Allen
to Mitchell Trubisky, I'm decreasing that's bread seven points. And
that's a baseline. Obviously I can adjust based off of
other things. But I have that for every single quarterback,
and that is a chore that is not an easy
thing to do. You are going through every roster, looking
at every single quarterback on the roster, and then you
are assigning a numerical value to that quarterback, and it's
really hard to You're kind of doing it blind, like
(23:44):
you're playing you know, the Pentitanale and the Donkey in
the preseason because you don't know if these guys are
gonna play. But what you can do is then change
that rating and that number accordingly throughout the season, like
of all of a sudden, Jade Daniels looks hurt. Well,
I'm gonna decrease Jade Daniels's ratings, So then if he
does get replaced from Marcus Mary Yoda, it's not as
big of a drop off. So it is a constant
maintenance of numbers throughout the course of the season, upgrading, downgrading, adjusting,
(24:09):
and it all starts in July August, and you just
make a good foundation for numbers and then so when
the unforeseen happens later in the year, you are ready.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Jared, first of all, they had a jackpot for me.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
Second of all, have you been keeping an eye from
the start of the season on the MVP and do
you think there's gonna be any major change or is
it Matthew Stafford's award.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
So, first of all, Jackpot is very upset today because
if we're gonna gain He hates going outside. I literally
tried to take him for a walk before this segment guys.
He kept pulling my leash back in. Yeah, He's like,
I don't want anything to do with this bag. Can
we get inside? I had a jacket on him and everything.
He didn't care.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
He did not He is not a water dog.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
Matthew Stafford's a water dog though, So I think the
part about Stafford, there is a element to this that
kind of supersedes statistics and win lost. Like, I think
the Patriots are probably gonna have a better seed than
the Rams. They're either gonna be the one or the two,
whereas the Rams are probably gonna be the five seed
and they're not gonna win the division whereas New England will.
(25:10):
But I don't think that matters in the MVP race.
I think it matters Coach of the Year. I think
that's where Vrabel will get the nod. But I think
in the MVP market there is such a you know,
debate about the human and and what they've been through,
and it's an award voted on by humans, so there's
a human element to it, and that's where Stafford I think,
(25:31):
unlike the market's kind of telling you that Drake May
is still alive for the award, I don't even think
it's closed. Like, I think Stafford's gonna win it by
a pretty wide margin because he hasn't won it before,
and he was basically, you know, left for dead in
the preseason when when his back was acting up. And
now all of a sudden, he's got his team and
they're gonna win thirteen games. They're probably not gonna win
the division, but it's still gonna win thirteen games. And
the average MVP win total for quarterbacks over the last
(25:54):
decade is about thirteen, so he's right on par with
where the market.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Expects him to be.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
New England will have a better record than the LA Rams,
But I think Stafford, because of the narrative and because
of everything he's done, will win the award.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Charon Smith joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Here
I'm on Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff presented by
Bett MGM every Saturday morning here on Fox Sports Radio.
She's Monty Belanio, So I'm Dan Byer in for Cavino
and Ridge. I was surprised to see the over under
north of fifty or around fifty for Cowboys Commanders, even
with with Josh Johnson now being named the starter for
(26:28):
Washington for that game. Should I be surprised that it's
that high.
Speaker 6 (26:33):
No, because if you've watched Dallas' defense this year, you
probably can understand why. And Washington's defense has been really
bad too. This game had a sixty six burger attached
to it a few weeks ago, back in October. Now,
to be fair, that was it was Mariota, I think
I don't think it was Daniel's. I think it was Mariota,
and it was obviously dak on the other side. But listen,
we're at the point of the year and you'll hear
(26:53):
this a lot on a lot of different outlets.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
The tank.
Speaker 6 (26:56):
You know, the t word tanking, I make no misis
about it. When this game starts, when any game starts,
there is not one player on that field who gives
a hoot about what the draft pick is for that
team next year. The way tanking is done in the
NFL is like what the Raiders did today. Oh, brock Bauer,
is your knees a little banged up? How about you
just go on ir for the rest of the year
(27:18):
and we'll see you, you know, come training camp. That's
how tanking is done in the NFL. It's done during
the week, it's done in subtle ways where they're making
roster tweaks and they're saying, I want to give this
backup some run, but the backup's worse than the starter.
So it's making our team overall worse in terms of
that particular game. But we're looking into the future, right,
That's what to the situation with two in quinn yours right, Like,
there's no reason to bench Tua, but they wanted to
(27:40):
give you ors some run, and it's probably gonna mean
a couple more losses and they'll probably drop that draft
stock just a little bit. So with Josh Johnson, my
point being he's going out there to try to win
a job. Man Like, this guy's been on how many teams,
So he is gonna go out there and he is
gonna sling it. And dan Quinn's not a coach who quits,
especially in an NFC East game, So they're gonna they're
gonna give you their best effort in this game. The
(28:01):
question is is he capable of throwing it down the field?
Is he capable of reading a coverage and changing the
protection and making all those alignments. But Dallas's defense hasn't
offered much pushback this year.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Jared Smith joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (28:15):
Jared, Before we move on to college football, is there
an NFL bet for this week that's standing out to
you that you think is like that's if I focus
on one, send me towards that direction.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
It's a good question. I get this question very often
in my DMS monthly.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
I'm sure you do.
Speaker 6 (28:31):
I don't get much in the DMS these days. That's
usually what I get.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
I'll be honest.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
This might sound super ugly, So I'll give you a
bet that I think is really standing out. I just
made a video for it today on the Fox Sports
Radio feed with BETMGM. So I want to promote that,
but I also want to give you an angle for
a different game that I think is unique.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
The bet I think you've.
Speaker 6 (28:49):
Got to bet the Chiefs tomorrow. I know that sounds crazy, yeah,
but we have now moved where Kansas City was a
four and a half point road favorite in this game
a few weeks ago. And I know Mahomes is out,
I know Gardner Minshew is out. I know it's a
third string quarterback. But we're thirteen and.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
A half now. That is a massive move. And don't
get me wrong.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
Minshew to Mahomes might be the biggest drop off of
anyone in the NFL in terms of starter to backup.
But we're at the point where the entire world is
gonna be watching Kansas City. Right it's Christmas night, you're
under the spotlight. I don't think you're just gonna roll
over and die against the division rival. They're gonna be
They're gonna give it their best effort here.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
So if if.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
Andy Reekin scheme anything for this kid, I think we've
got a chance to cover this. So I'll take the
ugly Dog on Christmas Night and take the Chiefs plus
thirteen and a half. The Bill's Eagles game is fascinating here, guys,
because I don't think either team can really upgrade their standing.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Before the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (29:42):
Like Philly's locked into the three, the ones obviously gonna
be the NFC West winner, the two. Chicago has the
head to head over Philly, so I don't think Philly
is gonna be able to jump Chicago for the two,
and then the four seeds obviously gonna be the NFC South.
So what do the Eagles really have to play for
over the next few weeks. Same thing with the Bills.
You got Josh Allen with a little foot injury. Buffalo's
probably not gonna win the eighth. I think New England's
gonna take care of the Jets in Miami. So what
(30:03):
does Buffalo really have to play for. They're basically locked
into their five spot, and I kind of think this
is one of those situations where both teams are gonna
be very vanilla with their game plans and that usually
lends to a little more conservative play not a lot
of points. So I would look to bet a lot
of unders in the game on Sunday between the Eagles
and the Bills.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Church Smith joinings here on Fox Sports Radio. Last one
for me, if we seen any line movements from the
quarterfinal games coming up in a week, in a little
over a week, anything that we need to note from
those four contests.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
Yeah, you saw a little money coming on Bama off
to seven. I think that is me, Like, to me,
the first thing that sticks out, like if you're gonna
give me a full touchdown with Bama and it's kind
of been jumping up and down off of that number,
you'll see it get to seven and then it'll get
bought back down, And I think, what that tells me
is the closing number will probably be under seven, because
I just don't see a lot of people, you know,
(30:54):
flying to the window to bet Indiana, you know, and
I know they've had a great year, but in terms
of the perception, there's still a relative unknown at this level,
and Alabama's not and Alabama also has a win on
other belts, So I think seven. If you can find
like a good seven price on Alabama, I think that
would be a decent one. Oregon, Texas Tech Texas deck
opened a slight favorite, and it flipped the organ really quick,
(31:15):
but it hasn't really moved a ton like when it
goes from one and a half to one and a
half on the other side, Dan, It's not a huge
like win probability shift, So it's not very noteworthy. Those
key numbers, right, three, seven, those are kind of the
ones we look to in terms of movement. I think
Georgia is gonna be a pretty steamy side. I would
be surprised if that one closed under a touchdown. It's
sitting at six and a half right now, and then
it looks like Ohio State Miami's kind of been locked
(31:36):
into that nine and a half spot. Pretty much since
open haven't seen a whole lot there.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Do you have a pick for tonight in the Hawaii
ball I was looking at some props actually before I
came up.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
It's the only thing to bet on tonight.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
You have to feed the Hawaii got to feed the beast.
So Cal's dev I haven't watched a ton of Hawaii
this year. To be perfectly fair, I've actually watched a
decent amount of Cal because they're freshman quarterback and I
love I'm a lefty, so I love watching lefty quarter
back play. He's been fantastic. I'm not gonna try to
pronounce his name. I'll just call him Jkas But I
always wonder when you go. And he's from Hawaii, so
it's not like he doesn't understand, you know, the landscape
(32:10):
or the vibe. But you know, he's not the only
player on the team. When a team goes to Hawaii
for like a week and hangs out and then they
have to play a game, I'm always interested to see
who's really up. And Col's defense has had a problem
this year, especially stopping the run. They like to play
a lot of quarters coverage, which means they play very
soft and conservative, which means there's a lot of light boxes.
I can see Hawaii's running game being effective here. I
(32:31):
think I lean Hawaii in the game. I'm shocked that
an ACC team is an underdog against Hawaii like that.
That is the market kind of telling me that Hawaii's
probably the right side. So I would say Hawaii and
bet some of the rushing yard propovers for the running
backs for the Rainbow Warriors.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
All Right, you know somebody's gonna be sitting back and
when I have some fun tonight, and absolutely allow him
to do so. Jared Mary Christmas, Happy New Year, Love
talk India. Can't wait to do it again. Man, Thanks
so I appreciate you guys. Mary Christmas, everyone find him
on X Jared Smith bats. Let's go over to Isaac
Lowin Cron at the news desk. Isaac, what is happening
on this Christmas Eve?
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Oh, Dan and Monsey? Never a dull moment in the
National Football League. Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker TJ. Watt returned to
practice today after missing two games because of a partially
collapsed lung. He was officially listed as a limited participant.
The Kansas City Chiefs placed receivers Rashie Rice and Taekwon Thornton,
as well as quarterbacks Trent McDuffie and Jalen Watson on
(33:30):
injured reserve. They also listed defensive ends George carl Loftus
and linebacker Nick Bolton as questionable for Tomorrow's game against
the Broncos. Denver meanwhile ruled out linebacker Drey Greenlaw because
of a hamstring injury. Sesame Street helped raise all of
us Now it's our turn donate this holiday season at
sesame dot org because the world needs Sesame and Sesame
(33:54):
needs you. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did not practice
today for the second straight day due to a back contusion.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that jackson status
for Saturday nights game at Green Bay has not been
determined yet, but Dan and Monsei there is another developing
layer to that story. The Baltimore Sun newspaper today posted
(34:17):
a column alleging that Lamar Jackson stays up too late
playing video games and has fallen asleep in team meetings,
and that John Harbaugh is tired of his behavior.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
Well.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Harbaugh was asked about that report this afternoon.
Speaker 10 (34:34):
I think I said earlier in this season, won't take
too much credence and anonymous type sources. So I don't
know where that's coming from. I've never seen I've never
seen that ever. You know, that's not something that that
I've ever witnessed. And I'm in every meeting, and to speculate,
I know how I feel about it. You know that
would be wrong to say that that's not true. I
(34:54):
had a great conversation with Lamar this morning. Our relationship
is a plus. So I love him, always have, always will.
So Anon's reports with things that gets said or written
or whatever. I don't need anybody speaking for me. Just
ask me and I'll tell you what I think.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
Dan and Monzy back to you.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Ah, interesting, since it's Christmas Eve, I'm surprised he didn't
say it's a.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Plus plus plus plus plus plus.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Plus Monzy, do you get that reference Christmas story?
Speaker 3 (35:24):
That's a great rap, that's a very poll, that's a
great poll.
Speaker 8 (35:27):
Silas Morner.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
But you looked at me because I didn't see home
alone like I was from Mars.
Speaker 5 (35:33):
I've only seen a Christmas story with maybe a long time,
Oh my god, and it's been years, Like you.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Know, what I mean, I watched it.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
We'll have twenty four hours to watch it, you.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Too, Okay, okay, I watched that Ure Space show.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
No, I'm just saying like it's it's gonna air twenty
four hours Christmas.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
You're right, You're right.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Sorry, So it's up with this smart mouth. Okay, we're
a team here. It's not Monzy against Dan on Fox
Sports Radio. It can be final score Manzi four hundred
and eighteen Dan eight.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
There was also a piece in the Baltimore Sun that
said the Ravens practicing the afternoon because that's when Lamar prefers.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Yeah, I get that. You know I'm not a parting person.
You'll get that. Yes, so I would request the same thing.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
That's why Moncey in the mornings has yet to you know,
take off. It's just right.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
It's better Monty in the morning. It's wow, I'm listening.
I'll do it, but it's gonna be a rough morning
every morning.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
They hit her up at Mancey Belanos. You can find
me just like Nuts McGee did at the Buy Her
on Fox. It's been that kind of Christmas Eve. I
always love it when and I'll just use athletes. Athletes
apologize for something, but they never say that they're actually sorry,
so it's not really an apology. Someone apologized today when
it wasn't even their fault. We'll tell you who that
(37:06):
is next. If you know what Rich on Fox Sports Radio.

She's Moncey Bolangos. I'm Dan Bayer.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Anybody here like to volunteer to carry all of Monzi's
gifts to her car sweet us at Monty Blagos or
at Dan Byer on Fox. For over forty years, Tirek
has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive, ship fast and free back
by free rote hazard protection with convenient installation options like
(37:45):
mobile tire installation, tire rec dot Com the way tire
buying should be said, She's the most popular person here
at Fox Sports Radio, and you would know it by
the uh three feet by four feet box of gifts
that she had As yet, she proclaimed, I brought in
more than I am leaving home with. So you are
(38:06):
also in the giving cause.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
I am in the giving mood. Tis the season. You
know who doesn't like to get a gift?
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Absolutely, absolutely agreed. Steve Kerr gave something to Draymond Green.
What a slap an apology. This is what I was
getting at when I was saying I don't like it
when athletes apologize but never say they're sorry. Steve Kerr
has no reason to apologize, and he does. Yeah, and
he did it for the betterment of the Warriors, apologizing
(38:36):
to Draymond Green, saying that he took responsibility for their arguments.
On Monday, I said yesterday, I felt that Steve Kerr
deserved an award for everything that he's had to put
up with with Draymond Green. But the head coach taking
the high road today and now saying that he and
Green have apologized to each other, and now the focus
is on the Mavericks tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (38:56):
I mean, yes, give it up for Steve Kerr, but seriously,
what is Draymond have on everybody? I think our producer
Bo put it perfectly that like Draymond is Frankenstein's monster
that was created by the NBA or the Warriors and
Kurk whoever.
Speaker 4 (39:13):
But it's like, who what does he have on everybody?
Why does he.
Speaker 12 (39:16):
Kept keep getting away with things over every every single
time there's something new that he's done wrong, and yet
here is the head coach apologizing Why why does he
get so many passes?
Speaker 1 (39:29):
I don't understand it, and I don't understand the culture.
And I said, even when this confrontation happened, I go
back to anytime Draymond does something, I go back to
him punching Jordan Pool, or him hitting Lebron in the
nuts McGee in the NBA finals, right like that, That's
what it was. And at that point, like Draymond cannot
(39:52):
shake that reputation. No, I always go back to those points.
But in the Jordan Poole fight, the biggest issue, the
Warriors had was that the video got out right, that
there was a snitch within their walls, not that one
of their players went up to another player and punched
him in the face like that after a time out,
a veteran player, a leader of your team like that
(40:15):
was that was not a big deal to them. They
were more concerned about the messaging going out, which I
completely disagreed with. So to that point of apparently they're
just sticking to the code.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
They're not gonna SNA code like you you look like idiots.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
I agree.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
He's making you look like you're not wrong. And he
everybody knows it.
Speaker 5 (40:32):
There's a commercial out I think for Dick's Sporting Goods
all the good and the bad, and he's on the
naughty list, like there's other athletes. Pagebeckers is in it,
and it's like she's on the good list. And then
he pokes his head out on Santa's like not this year,
and he does a little smirk, and he's on the
naughty list.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
He knows he's naughty. Everybody knows he's naughty.
Speaker 5 (40:49):
And yet we're like, okay, it's fine, listen, there you
are ruining Steph Curry's prime.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
Dennis Rodman has brought up Carrie Roads, brought him up
yesterday and comparing him to Draymond. I'll bring up other villains.
I'll bring up Bill Lambierre, the Pistons, Rick Muhorn in
that same sort of vein. But those guys weren't punching
their own players like they were standing up for their
own players. There's been more chaos caused by Draymond. Steve
Kerr apparently says that he wants Draymond to finish his
career as a warrior. That career probably should have been
(41:15):
over a couple whiles ago, a while ago, especially if
Klay Thompson's in Dallas.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
Yeah, he could be on the bench coming off the bench,
and he's not. They have just given him all the
passes and I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
