Maybe we can have another Keith Jackson off between you
and Isaac Loan from The Rose Boil Yesterday, Iowa Sam
is here, wholly Hello, Iowa Sam, Isaac Lohengross my Friday.

(00:49):
Drop is Friday.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Hey, looking forward to having that Keith Jackson off contest.
Unfortunately we did get a season desist letter for I'm
the Jackson Estate. Jason, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Sam Farmer of the La Time spent the day with
the Keith Jackson family. It's part of his piece of
the La Times, and the only thing I could think
of is the dueling Keith Jackson impersonations, impressions that we
have here at Fox Sports Radio and Jason Stewart and
Isaac Lohnkron get together and college football is the topic,
and it is the topic. And this show is sponsored

(01:22):
by a DraftKings sportsbook and official sports betting partner of
the NFL and NBA. Right now, use the Promo Code
CR Show to claim your special offer at DraftKings. Again,
that's Promo Code CR Show. At DraftKings. The crown is yours.
Now we know Chris Fowler and Kirk Herb Street called
the Rose Bowl yesterday before we get into Indiana's great
win and the Ole miss or should I call him

(01:43):
old make Huh? How about that? That's a little twist
on the old words.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
They missing nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
University of Mississippi's win against Georgia. Are you drinking the
water to get your Keith Jackson impression? Ready, Jason Stewart,
I'm ready to go. But I will say this, I'm
not an what's it is? An impressionist impersonator? I don't
know if yeah, I didn't know which one to go
with either to menest, I'm not like j Moore is

(02:09):
a world class impressionist. I'm not, but the few impressions
I do do I can only do like five words.
In other words, if you want to have a conversation
with me as Keith Jackson, I would fail miserably. But
I do like I do. I think I do a
little bit correctly. I have another one, John Travolta. This
is my John Travolta impression. I don't know it's like,

(02:32):
but if you asked me to go beyond that, if
you asked me to go beyond that, I couldn't do that.
Like my Pat Summer al is like this, Isaac hand
off the smith for three maybe four, and that's it.
I can't do any more Pat summerl Uh. Do you

(02:53):
have any of those in your repertoire Isaac longcorn, A, Travolta,
a Summer all or is it just Keith Jackson and
Ben bringing me up such a random one that, you know.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
What, I have a pretty wide range. I've got to say,
you know who, since you guys are sitting in for
Cavino and Rich Coveno is a real He's really really
good obviously Mahomes, but there's a couple of under the
radars where he's he does a great Keanu Reeves. By
the way, he's spectacular buyer. Monsei, do you have any No,

(03:29):
not at all?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Wait you have do you do a killer Mike Linguard?
I just heard you do it yesterday. It's one pm
on a Friday. What am I still doing here?

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Ah? That's pretty good, that's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I'm out of here.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Uh why is he going to the bank?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
That was you would always go to the bank. All right,
I'll be back in minutes. He's going to the bank.
He's got four hours before they close. So those are
the old days. I don't think he goes to the
bank anymore. I don't know people who really go to
the bank anymore. They're all closing down right.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I hate going to the bank.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
All right, let's uh quickly before we move on to
Indiana and Ole, Miss Can I get a Keith Jackson
off from yesterday's game? Isaac, could you like do anything
not tendio?

Speaker 6 (04:13):
When you get those when you get those big horses
from Alabama and you get those hoosiers from Indiana rumbling
into town, who a whole lot of things can go on.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
The twenty twenty six Keith Jackson off is well underway.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
Not supposed to rain on New Year's Day. But but
a New Year's Day in Pasadena and the rain is
still better than a New Year's Day everywhere everywhere else.
Whoa now that I gotta statue outside the stadium?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
He does? He does? Jason, would you like to counter
that Keith Jackson impression for your portion? This was the
extent on Mike Keith Jackson. Ready, whoa nellye grenn daddy
of them all? Here? It is all right, job well
done every single time. This is the problem when you

(04:58):
get me with these two. I have to hear there
Keith Jackson impressions. And again it's it's woe Nelly and Jason.
What's his own Keith Jackson, spin on it? Nelly, old Nelly,
and I let's agree to disagree, I think, he says,
old Nelly. Okay, yeah, let's ask Isaac low and Cross.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
It's well, here's the thing. It is woe Nelly. But
the late great Keith Jackson insisted, although he appreciated the impression,
that he never ever ever said woe Nelly ever, and
then it became a thing, and then he wound up
doing it in commercials later in his career.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Oh interesting, Yeah, the more you know, all right, the
more we know about college football, the less I feel
I actually know about it. My final four was Oregon, Alabama,
Ohio State in Georgia, and we're one for four. Thank goodness.
I didn't picked the first round games because I probably
would have got three out of those wrong as well.

(06:01):
Maybe I would have picked Tulane to knock off the
ole Miss Rebels. Nothing stopping ole Miss right now, not
even Lane Kiffin, who some wondered if you would stop
some of his assistants from continuing to coach in the
Fiesta Bowl against Miami coming up next week. Right now,
it sure seems that ole Miss will continue to roll,

(06:22):
and likely will continue to roll with the coaching staff
that coached last night in the Sugar Bowl.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Good.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I can't believe that's that's even a discussion, Dan, of
whether these assistants that are gonna eventually follow Lane Kiffin
to LSU, who he already allowed to go and coach
ole Miss finish out the season. How it's even a
discussion of whether they can still coach again. I can't
believe that that's even a story. How was it not yes,
go until you're done?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Because I think they thought that it was going to
be out one and night, that it was going to
be done last.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Night, done last night.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
With Lane Kiffin leaving that this isn't a problem that's
gonna go to mid Jamanuary that when the transfer portal
opens up today that those LSU coaches would then be
full time LSU coaches and don't have to worry about anything.
As El said, Ole.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Miss, well, it just goes to show that Lane Kevin
doesn't know anything.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
But even if that's true, to even have a story
come out that now it's being discussed at that point
when they had won, it should have been like the
text like all right, see you guys when you're done,
you know what I mean? Like as simple as that,
it didn't need to become a story because again Lane
kiffn like, what are you doing?

Speaker 4 (07:27):
What are you doing? You're hanging out with what's your face?
What's the LSU coaches name? Kim Kim Bulky? You ain't
out with Kim Molgy walking in hand in hand? I
thought it was an a.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Ivy with me, Like who let's hold hands?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I don't, I don't know, but this guy is over
here hoping Ole Miss is going to fail because of
his own ego because he wants to be right and
because he can't just let people have their fun without him.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
He wants to be often running at LSU. And this
is what else Lane Kiffin knows. That things don't go
well in year one, there are gonna be people that
are going to turn on him saying like, we did
all of this, We spent all of this money and
did all of this stuff just to let ole Miss
have their run, and now it's hurting us, and now
you're not winning football games, or you're not getting the

(08:20):
players that you would have wanted, or honestly, let's be real,
for any of the ole Miss players that want to
stay in Oxford to not go to Baton Rouge, that
maybe they would have left if Lane kiffen, if ole
Miss wouldn't have made the playoffs, or we're knocked out
in the first round by Tulana, we're knocked out last
night by Georgia, maybe there are players that said, yeah,
I'm on my way to LSU and now they're gonna

(08:40):
be at ole Miss and they're gonna be at ole
Miss longer. And you know, I give a credit to
our colleague, our former colleague now, Doug Gottlieb was, by
the way, Green Bay gonna win yesterday on New Year's Day,
So congratulations to Doug in that win. But he has
talked about the ability to go back to your school
and celebrate your championships and your teams, and that by

(09:03):
jumping in the transfer portal, you're gonna come back and
not have a school. So if you're an ole Miss
player and you go on this run that ten years
and twenty years down the line when you're remembered, if
you jump ship and leaf for LSU, you're probably not
going to be welcomed back as much as the other
members of this team. And if you win a national championship.
Now for ole Miss or playing a national championship game,

(09:24):
they're an underdog against Miami, But who doesn't think that
ole Miss has a chance in that contest. You're not
going to have that if you jump ship to LSU,
and the further you go, the more it keeps you
in Oxford. So that's why I think Lane Kiffin is
probably kind of panicking in a little You wanted to
appear on college game day, wanted to be at the
Sugar Bowl. Didn't happen with the game day thing, didn't

(09:45):
happen with him going to the Sugar Bowl. Instead, he's
holding hands with Kim Maulky prior to the women's basketball game.
It's all a weird situation, but I think that Lane
Kiffin is feeling the heat because of what could go
wrong for LSU in year one if this run continues
for ole Miss.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
I think likes to feel the heat. He just does
too many things where there's no way you know what
you're doing. You'd like to stir the pot. That's what
the vibe get from Lane Kiffin. But this heat that
he is feeling is not the heat that he thought
he was gonna fall. And so that's the best part
of all of this.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Obviously ole Miss.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Even before Lane Kiffin decided to leave, ole Miss was
trying to win a championship. All these schools are right,
but now him doing this you said it in the
you know earlier on the show. That's almost like they
have a chip on their shoulder. Yeah, they're trying to
spoil your homecoming because of what you did. And they're
not just spoiling your homecoming, they can really spoil just
LSU and what they see in their future, like you

(10:37):
just said, because they thought we got this guy, and
now if you don't turn things around in one season,
how are you gonna feel?

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Because we did say Kurt Signety turned things around pretty quickly.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Absolutely, So this is adding to the pressure of LSU's
and I think.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
That the head start that Lane Kiffn had were some
of these players from Ole Miss because you could bring
them to LSU and there's LSU does give you an
ability to cast a wide range across the recruiting trail,
and the nil money that you can bring in will
also be a big deal. But you don't want to
start from you don't want to start two steps behind.
In the more weeks that go on, that's going to

(11:14):
be the case. And you're also heck if you're Old
Miss too as well. Not that you want closure to this,
but you don't want to see some of your assistants
leaving to do transfer portal stuff. So that's the other
side of it that really isn't spoken about is for
as great as things have been at Ole Miss, they
probably haven't been operating on full capacity. The coaches have
done a great job, and maybe the familiarity of Georgia

(11:35):
and how they matched up with them earlier this year helped.
I'm curious to see how that's going to match up
against Miami. I don't know if Miami will be more
of a physical situation for them to have to deal with.
But Ole Miss is doing this at a disadvantage as well.
Georgia had much more of an advantage going into the
Sugar Bowl without the distraction surrounding their coaching staff than

(11:56):
what Ole Miss had to deal with.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Absolutely, I was surprised when you said that Miami was
favored in the game.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
I did not.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I had not looked at the line and so checking
it out right now, what I'm looking at says Miami
by three and a half, and I'm like, what have
you seen your I know Miami has a good defense.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
They had, right, they had a pick, Sick had a pick. Yes,
I'm pretty sure Carson back. Sorry, yeah, I wasn't trying
to do that, but I was just like, was it.
My point here was like, didn't Carson Beck throw for
like one hundred and thirty yards in a touchdown in
that game?

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Like it was?

Speaker 4 (12:26):
There was nothing. It was very modest and not that
you can't win like that.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
But you see what Old Miss is doing with Trinidad,
Chambliss and if he gets on a heater. I understand
that maybe you think you're not going to allow them
to score what thirty eight points, thirty nine points, but
that that seems like now you are underestimating ole Miss.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
What do you think is more America's team? Ole Miss
or Indiana? Oh that's tough, that's a.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Really yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Uh, because I think they're both as Jason and I
have been talking about, you know, vacationing in the world
of college football, they both have storylines that intrigue me.
So I I I am rooting.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
I don't know, I don't know. I think Indiana wins.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
If your national championship game, which was Indiana and Indiana,
so then you're probably gonna side with the Signettes the fighting.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Probably, but it's so close. It's like I am still like,
if all Miss wins this.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
It would be so awesome for different reasons than if
Indiana wins.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
That's exactly it. It's the different reasons, right, because I
think I think most of the people in the Indiana
thing is the new blood people. You know, there's always
that faction of people who just want new blood. I
think that's mostly the Indiana fans, the old miss thing
is screwling, kif you know, it's totally different, much more toxic.
Reason to pull for all this. Yeah, I'll tell you what.
There's something with Signetti that is that is really interesting.

(13:52):
So much was made about his Google me Yeah, and
what he said on at an Indiana home game about
taking over in Ohio State and Purdue and you know
other big matchups that Indiana would play. But did you
see the clip with Pat McAfee before they're about to
run out onto the field? Have you seen this? I

(14:12):
just want if you can look it up. So Indiana's
about to run out of the tunnel at the Rose
Bowl and Signetti and McAfee and his guys are doing
the broadcast from underneath the goalpost. Have you seen this? Iowa, Sam,
did you see this? No, Signetti turns to Pat McAfee
or looks his way and just gives him a finger

(14:33):
gun salute. That is what you would do if you
were sixty five years old, to just any young whipper snapper.
And it to me, it was done in so much confidence.
And do you see what I'm talking about? Yeah? Like,
how in the world, Like I can't root for Indiana.

(14:54):
But two, yeah, and it's not like he's done it
would do it like in a cool way, like you
think like Lane Kiffinwood. Yeah, it's totally Grandpa and McAfee
like turns is probably like, oh Alabama, like it's not
gonna be your day if Signetti's giving Pat McAfee a
finger gun. And so while he came off so brash

(15:14):
and cocky and confident, he turned the message and he's
done such a great job and that's probably really who
he is. But he said he had to do that,
he had to get people to believe. And then you
see a clip like that, it's like and you see
the Fernando Mendoza speech, and I get it. I think
that I think Indiana is America's team, So I think

(15:37):
to Jason's point, it's it is correct. So I would
also go with you guys and saying that it is
Indiana that is more of America's team, even though they've
got the number one next to their name and in
the highest seed and the only unbeaten left in college football,
which is crazy.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
And I feel like they've been getting fans since maybe
the start of the season, right with like whether it's
because you like Fernando Mendoza or you like her signetti.
But they have been like picking up fans throughout the
whole season with ole Miss. As Jason pointed out, it's
more of like a we don't like Lane Kiffen, thus
we're jumping on your bandwagon. Which listen, I'm on that bandwagon.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Without Lane Kiffin leaving, everybody is on the Indiana bandwagon
unless your arrival of Indiana. But Ole Miss will take
some of that. And if Miami wins, for as many
of the people that cheered for Miami against Ohio State,
it may be just the opposite because then Miami will
go back to be being the villain, of being the
you and of being the you know, the team that

(16:35):
bullies other teams like that will change. That will be
the different narrative. Oregon's in a heck of a spot,
I'm telling you in the semi final game because Oregon.
Oregon has two things going for them. Number One, they
lost to Orgon to Indiana earlier this year in Oregon,
so you have a revenge factor. But there's also a
bit of revenge factor with Oregon with the way that

(16:56):
they lost last year to Ohio State, and so I
bet you. They're saying to themselves, well, remember what Ohio
State did to us, we have to do that to Indiana.
So like Oregon's gonna be the school really of these
four that I don't think anybody's talking about. But I'm
curious to see how that plays out. But again, the story,
the story is lin Kiffin. The story is all missed,
but the the overarching story is Indiana. And again, they're

(17:19):
the best team in college football according to the seating
and their record, and they just routed Alabama. But if
you put their name up against any other team, like
you're thinking, if they they were to play Ohio State
again after already beating them, they're the underdogs the end, right, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
And naturally everyone would pick Ohio State.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Yes, doesn't mean they're gonna win, but that's like the
sense that you would you would get naturally they play
the role so well, yeah, they play the role really well.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Iowa Sam, and they're they're the losing his team in
college football history, right, They've lost those games like that,
just going from zero to hero. There's just something so
endearing about let me let.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Me ask you, this is a good one for Iowa Sam.
More more intriguing of any emergence Indiana or Boise State.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
I think Indiana because it was so fast, like you know,
it was just to go from like Bowl game every
year and here and there, you know under Tom Allen,
and then like Boise State was going, you know, ten
eleven wins, twelve wins under what Daniel and they.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Emerge if they emerge as as that team that then
finally gets the chance against the big boys and then
they upset Oklahoma. Like that was such like such a
rise that so many people and it made a name
for Boise State. The only drawback, and I think Sam's
point is is very well put, is how bad Indiana was.

(18:45):
But the only drawback is is they do come from
the Big ten.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
But they've been playing with Yeah, they've been playing with
the big boys for a so long. Yeah, and they've
not done anything until now. And so it's like they're
just they were just this idle program that all of
a sudden they're a power. And because of their coach,
nobody looks at them as as a Big ten team.
And by meaning you're not come to mind when you
think no, no, no, they don't. And I think that
if you were a big Ten team, it's tough to

(19:09):
think of a Cinderella. The Cinderellas were Vanderbilt in the
SEC of Northwestern and the Big Ten. So like when
Northwestern went to the Rose Bowl thirty years ago, like
that was something that kind of took over, like Indiana has.
But they weren't your typical Big Ten team, and here
they were running through the Big Ten. I think it's
part of the reason why Vanderbilt was such a story
this year, because they're not your typical SEC team. Then

(19:29):
you have Diego Pavia and all the hype with Vanderbilt. Now,
granted they couldn't beat the mighty Iowa Hawkeyes in the
Relyaquest Bowl, but.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Still like there is there, you know, their their comeback story.
Like I always felt like Northwestern and Vanderbilt when I
was growing up, before Northwestern made it to a Rose Bowl,
that those were the you know, the halves and the
have knots in those conferences.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I think, and this team goes to bowl games regularly,
but I think the only other sleeping Giant would be
Minnesota because they haven't. I don't think they've been to
a Rose bul since the sixty Giant. They're sleeping there
they're sleeping well. I mean just like I mean any
team like that is, if you're just exists in the
Big Ten, you can become us you are, you can
be you are sleeping giant.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Like, Yeah, Indiana ruins it for Minnesota. They ruin it
for Wisconsin, They ruin it for They ruin it for Purdue.
Although Purdue had their time with Drew Brees and Kyle Orton.
They ruin it for a lot of schools who are
wondering why aren't we at this point. I don't think
it ruins it for Iowa, but I'm sure there are
a couple of Hawkeye fans that are like, wait a second, what.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Well you listen you I always had like a winning
record for the last forty seven years, and they they've
won twelve. They went twelve and oho undefeated regular season
ten years ago. But to get this far, I'm sure
a lot of Iowa fans are like, what what is
Kirk Farrin's missing here?

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Yeah? Yeah, And honestly, I think it's only fair like
it's and it's that's that's legit. She's Watzi Belaania. So
I'm dan Byer. We got Indiana fever.

Speaker 7 (21:00):

Speaker 3 (21:10):
We're on to the Newlywed Game, where our couple today
is in twenty twenty six for the first time, Iowa
Sam and Monzi Milanios. Whew, let's see how well Iowa
Sam knows about Moncey. Now again, when we get the
Newlywed Game going, we have to put out the John
Ramos disclaimer. Hold on, don't just let me finish this

(21:33):
then you can you can correct me.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
I know you're good.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
These two aren't in love. Okay, there is no relationship.
They are talking about married, They're not engaged. That's this.
This dates back to when John Ramos and Monzi played
this game, and we had to make sure that Suzanne
knew that John and Moncey were not an item. Well,
MONSI we gave you ten questions before the show.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
That I'm I'm guessing what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Right, Jason Stewart's our executive producer. Yeah, this is a
Moncey guessing what she thinks Sam will see. There we go. Yes,
the very nature of the Newie What game as it
was with who's the what was the name of the
host of the original new one? That is, by the way,
this is that is not the case. You were supposed
to answer what you were going to yes, because then

(22:25):
Sam was supposed to. In fact, I said that to
both of you in the studio. I said, no, moncey,
you answer for what you think.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Definitely did not hear you say yes? I did, and
I asked, and I thought it was your and.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
You didn't listen, and you guys asked and said no,
because Sam's got to guess what you think and then
you give your answer to it.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Still do it? I just will guess ask him the
answer straight out.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
And it has this already poisoned the well?

Speaker 3 (22:53):
You yes, because there's one question in here that I
know what Sam would say, but we don't know what
Mancy would say, which was why it was phrased that way.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
This whole thing has been already correated.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
Why don't we just change it to the newly a
Nulve game?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
And yes, unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
That's my wife you're talking about, man oh.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
For over forty years, Tyrek has been helping customers find
the right tires for how what where they drive ship
fast and free backed by free Road as a protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tyreq dot com.
The way tire buying should be are you ready to
play the newlywed game?

Speaker 4 (23:31):
But apparently.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Question number one Iowa Sam, the winner of this month's
college football playoff will be who do you think?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
This is what I think? Mancy will say, no, just
answer your.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah, yes, we do it different, just.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Answering, all right, little reverse engineering here? Uh repeat the question.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
The winner of this month's college football playoff will be,
who do you think? Man?

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Let me think here, boy, I'm gonna say Oregon.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
All right, let's see if you guys are a match.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
The winner of the college football playoff.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Well, since Sam is an Iowa fan, he has to
think with emotion, not just logic.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
So I'm gonna say that Iowa. Sam thinks that ole
miss champion the end of the month. That was a miss.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
We're going on a miss strike one? Oh for one? Here,
I think we're gonna do better on question number two.
I don't know. I don't know. Maybe all right, Sam,
who's going to be the NFL m VP?

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Man?

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Mmmm?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Trying to think of like who? Because like it was
for a while, I was thinking Stafford, but they've kind
of faded a little bit. Man, mm, time is a
wasting Sorry, I'll say, I'm gonna say, I'll just.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Go with Drake May. Drake May, all right, I thought
he was gonna go Stafford. Well, let's see what Moncey thought.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Sam thinks that this year's NFL MVP is gonna be
Matthew Stafford because that's the only answer, and he.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Knows it should have stuck to my guns and Sam,
Sam has been a Rams like supporter for what they've
done all year long.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah, yeah, you thought the Patriots just nine and eight.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
I know, Well, I'm a man who lives in the moment,
and I did pick the Rams to go and win
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
Come on, Sam, I know.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Okay, I'll try to think more in general. I'll try
to just ye Sam with what's the flavor of the
of the moment.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
As Sam's girlfriend has landed back in Iowa right about now,
right about how she has a long layover in Phoenix,
she's listening knowing like, all right, my man is mine.
As you are zero and two, you don't have to
worry about any Monzi interference.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Well, the whole the whole flow of this thing got
screwed up.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
So what can I say? All right? Question number three,
let's do this, let's get back on track. Who's gonna
win the twenty twenty six Masters, Sam, Who's gonna win
the twenty oh Man? Uh? Second week in April? Is
Rory McElroy going to be putting the green jacket on himself?

(26:21):
Will he be putting it on Scotty Scheffler? What about
maybe John Rahm and a live guy winning Justin Rose,
maybe breaks through. Maybe Xander Shaffley adds to his major Hall.
Let's go Xander Schoffley. Okay, there's zero chance Monzi said that.
I listen, Yeah, got okay, I have got one hundred

(26:42):
dollars bills guessing like, answer what you think? I don't
want to go? No way, guess yours. There's no way
the answer is going to be Xander Schoffley. Okay. So
I'm putting it down right there. Killing if I'm wrong,
you you can take this and you guys can carrying
one hundred dollars bill around.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
He's a baller, big baller spender.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
A big baller buyer. Yeah, don't worry, don't worry. There's
not another one in here, so let's let's hear the answer. Okay,
so I said schlot Shoftley.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Here we go the twenty twenty six Masters.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
I feel like Sam is tossing around a few names,
but I think he thinks Scottie Scheffler.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Oh, thank you, master, back in the wall, and it
goes what could have been alphabetically you were close.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
That's not even real. Hundred dollars Bill. Yeah, I aren't
even prepared to give it out. I keep fake ones. Yeah,
you know that's what I do.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Sam, giving fake fake answers.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
I wasn't prepared for these. We got we got time
for uh, we got time for one more. I think here,
name a college basketball team or school? Did who? Did
Mancy say? This is the one question? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (27:52):
And when I saw this, I was like, this is interesting, all.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Right, Sam going to college basketball school? Name a college
any school that plays college basketball? Yukon. Okay, let's see
what Monty had to say a.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
College basketball team.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
For some reason, I feel like the first school that
Sam would think of would be Yukon.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
What what that's on the board?

Speaker 5 (28:17):
This this one that had the least odds of all
of them.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
How is it not Iowa because I was just like
a jazzic.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
You got the first one that pops into head, into
the head right now.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
It's not Iowa because Iowa hasn't been to a Final
four in like forty five years.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
So this is a strange couple. It's a strange couple.
They're not parents.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Job done.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Oh you got one more? Time for a quick one more? Okay?
Who will be Travis Kelsey's best man at his wedding?
And again, just to show this is set up for
Manzi to answer, but it ends up trying to guess
what Sam would think. So this is Manzi's guessing what
Sam would think.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
I'll go with his kin in his pipe cast partner
goes Jason Kelsey.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Okay, I think there are a lot of good nominees.
Who did Monci think Sam would say?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Obviously Travis Kelsey's best man. It's only one answer, and
it's gonna be his brother.

Speaker 6 (29:10):
Hello, Yes, actually an almost like comeback.

Speaker 3 (29:18):

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Be forty seven yard effort for Lucas Carnero, transfer from
Western Kentucky in his first year at Old Miss Georgia.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Trying to block it. There's the kick and it's on
its way, and.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
It's got the distance head, it's through the upright the rebels.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Heap taken the lane. There it was again, David Callum
at field with the call Ole Miss onto the college
football semi Finals, winning the Sugar Bowl over Georgia. Next
up the Miami Hurricanes. Speaking of Miami, you know what's
happening tonight in Miami? No Winter Classic? Oh?

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Yes, in Miami. That's perfect winter Miami. They go hand
in hand.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
I think that there is some novelty to doing it
in warm weather places, doing the outdoor hockey game. Yeah.
First of all, it's not outdoors at the Marlin Stadium
where they are playing. It's the Rangers and Panthers tonight.
But it's also on January second. And I liked having
the Winter Classic on January first. I liked that tradition

(31:39):
of it. If you don't do it on January first,
it's just another game, like it's just that's what it is.
And I assume that they probably had to do it
at night because of the temperatures in the daytime that
you could get in South Florida that at night at
least it would be cooler and be more better for
the ice. But the Winter Classic was a tradition as

(32:00):
a and I call myself a non hockey fan, even
though last year I really got into the Stanley Cup
playoffs at the end. I don't know why you would
move off what your original plan was when it was
so unique and I thought appreciated by many and was
such a neat, little, you know, you know, niche thing.
Why you would move off of that? I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Could it be scheduling on a day that college football playoff.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
Yes, not happen, but they used to do that as well.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Right, but now it's there's more attention on it. So
if I feel like, if you're on college.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Football playoffs, oh no, I thought you meant on a
winter No, not on.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
The Winter Classic, on the college football playoff, I think
there's just more eyes and more attention on that that
Maybe that was a driving force. And if you were
going to watch the Winter Classic, you're gonna watch it,
whether you watch it on the first.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Of the second maybe they just accepted that and maybe
that was the case. And if Miami can't host it
on the first I guess what. Maybe Miami shouldn't be
hosting the game. I know, like you know, the Florida
Panthers are you know, one of the top teams over
the last couple of years and Stanley Cup champions, and
I get that portion of it. But again, something's working

(33:12):
some things, don't. I mean, they had a outdoor game
at Dodger Stadium years back, right, Yeah, but I don't
think that was a New Year's Day game that was
I thought it was a different contest.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
Yeah, I think it was just yea an exhibition game.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
This is cool when you see it at Fenway Park
at Yankee Stadium in unique places, and it just doesn't
like there are other sports. I'm looking at college basketball
right now and I just saw a graphic Purdue against Wisconsin.
All right, boiler Makers ranked fifth. Wisconsin plays at the
Coal Center. It's the school that I went to. The
Coal Center opened up my senior year in college. Before that,

(33:49):
the games were played at the UW Fieldhouse, which is
right next to Camp Randall Stadium. There was a time
when the Milwaukee Bucks within the last ten years or so,
played a game at the Mecca that was their old
old arena, and it was really neat. It was the
Celtics and Bucks and I think Kyrie was on Boston
at the time, but it was like such a throwback

(34:09):
and if you do it once a year, I wish
college basketball teams that still have their old arenas and
old facilities would play a game in that facility. Like
I would like Wisconsin to play a game at the
fieldhouse that's now home to their volleyball program, just for
old times sake. Those are the types of neat things
that I like to see Field of Dreams game back
in Iowa this year. I think those things are neat.

(34:30):
I'm excited to see that. I wish we could see
it more and keep those traditions going. Moving this off
of New Year's Day, you're righty maybe trying to get
away from college football, but to me, that was part
of the coolness of it.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I hear what you're saying in the sense because you
want to keep the tradition alive, Like that's what this
has been about. So if you're going to change it,
then where are the stakes? Why does it matter? So
the same as it used to, but I think scheduling
against the college football Playoff was a big driving force after.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
It turned out last night with the Indiana win and
the Ole Miss win. Maybe so, but I think people
would rather have watched that instead of Texas Tech in Oregon. So,
by the way, was also in South Florida, but just
at near Fort Lauderdale.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
If that game was at was gonna watch yea on
the West coast, West.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Coast yes noon Eastern time. She is Monte Milanios, I'm
Dan Bayer, Jason Stewarts here as his eyes at glowing
cron and Iowa sam As. We are in for Cavino
and Rich Rich has got a big game with his Niners.
