Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
six forty.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
And this is KFI Bill Handle here on a very
hot Friday, September sixth. Yesterday it was one hundred and
eighteen at Woodland Hills where my daughters live. Amy. We're
looking at what heighs today along the same numbers.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, today's supposed to be now they're saying the hottest
day and they've also extended the excessive heat warnings through
the weekend. So like tomorrow, it's going to pull down
a couple of degrees but still going to be super
super toasty. So up to one eighteen and Wilden Hills
again today.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah, toasty. That's a great way to put it.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
It feel like you're toasting yourself.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Some of the stories we're carrying looking at. Certainly the
big story out of Georgia is, of course, that fourteen
year old who went into school with his assault weapon
and killed two students, two teachers, wounded nine others. His
dad has been arrested for seven degree murder because he
gave him gave his son this weapon for Christmas, a
(01:04):
fourteen year old. After the FBI had come to the
house and said We've got some real issues here. We
have multiple sources saying your kid has posted threats.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
It was just a crazy story.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Now, Elon Musk is one of the more interesting characters
out there. As a matter of fact, I was one
of my podcasts that I did a segment or an
episode on Elon Musk. Just go to the Bill Handle
Show podcast on all the platforms and you'll hear what
I had to say about Elon Musk and just in general,
(01:40):
what he is about fascinating to say the least. Now,
two things, There's two stories that are going on with
Musk right now. One is his relationship with Donald Trump.
Let's start with that. Elon Musk was not a fan
of Donald Trump's. Donald Trump was not a fan of
Elon Musk until the assassination attempt happened, where well, good news.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Is that Donald Trump was not assassinated. He was only
lightly wounded. And that night Elon Musk said.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I'm endorsing Donald Trump, and all of a sudden they
became best friends. Because one of the things about Donald Trump,
I now think he's alone on this. If an enemy
turns in your friend, then that's your friend. And so
it changed very quickly. And what just happened over the
last couple of days is that Donald Trump announced that
(02:36):
if he is elected, he is going to have Elon
Musk had a task force to completely redo the entire government,
the entire as the financial aspects of the government, and
get rid of trillions of dollars of waste and overpayment.
And Musk is going to head that task force. Now,
(02:59):
from what I understand, it's being reported that was actually
Musk's idea that Donald Trump latched right onto and said yep.
Because part of Trump's philosophy, it was much like when
he came in on the platform of drain the swamp,
drain the swamp, which really didn't happen very much, or
(03:21):
will build the wall and Mexico will pay for it,
didn't really happen. And now if he gets elected, a
couple of things are going to happen. The fun one
yesterday is if I love.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
This in front of a Jewish group, if.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Elon mus if Kamala Harris gets elected, it will be
the utter destruction of Israel.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Israel will cease to exist.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
And I wonder how many people in the room says, yeah,
that makes sense, Yeah, Israel disappears if Kamala Harris gets elected. Okay,
that's just a side story because I'm just always stunned
by what goes on politically. So the story is, or
the statement that was released in both Musk and Trump confirmed,
(04:02):
is that Musk offered Trump absolutely jumped on it and said, Yep,
this is one of the premier of business people, and
he is going to help me completely redo the entire
financial aspect of the federal government top to bottom.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Now that takes some doing.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
That's every bureaucracy, that's every agency, that's every system that's
in place is going.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
To be completely redone. Now is that a little bit
of an exaggeration.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
NA, Yeah, yeah, because and both sides do this. You
elect me, and these are the changes going to be done. Also,
the waste. We're going to get rid.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Of the waste. All right, Well, here's the problem with
getting rid of the waste.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
One person's waist is another person's well spent money for
this program pork. You've heard of that in politics. Yeah,
we can't spend that much money. That's crazy. Well, one
person's pork is someone else's money that spent appropriately. One
of my favorite stories is there was I don't know
(05:07):
how much thirty forty million dollars that was spent for
a salmon museum.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
And one of the congress people had brought it up,
and this was going to be.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Either in Alaska, California, federal money to establish a museum
about salmon. Okay, Now, a lot of people said that
sounds pretty porky to me. I mean, do we really
need that? Is not a waste of federal money. Well,
not to that district, it wasn't. That's my point. So
(05:39):
that is the big one. Okay, as far as an endorsement.
Now we go to the story of X and here's
what's going on on that one.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
This is a story out.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Of CNN where we now are being told that a
record number of firms plan on cutting advertising spending on
X next year. This is going to be a big
hit on X formally Twitter, because, as you know, Elon
Musk bought Twitter for forty four billion dollars. The company
(06:14):
at that time when he bought it was probably worth
about twenty five billion dollars. He overpaid, basically paid double
for a company that was worth twenty five billion dollars.
Was not a great move, by the way, not at all.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
And he started.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Cutting like crazy, and he had all these wild experiments,
none of which worked. Verifications, the blue check mark, I mean,
none of it happened.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
So I want to go into it.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
We're going to come back, and I want to spend
a little bit of time talking about this second story
of Elon Musk and what's going on with advertising, because
these platforms need advertising.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
That's how they live, that's how we live.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
And you can't lose the majority of your advertisers and
still survive.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
And that's what's going on with X right now.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I just did talked a little bit about his involvement
with Donald Trump. Now they will become best friends. And
Trump has said if I get elected, you have a
big part in my administration, and Elon Musk said, yep,
sounds good to me. Now, at the same time that's happening,
we are now hearing that a record number of firms
(07:24):
are cutting their advertising spending on X next year. There's
a market research firm, Kantar It's global twenty six percent
of marketers plan to decrease their spending next year on
X and that's the biggest pullback from any major global
ad platform.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Of course, four.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Percent of marketers think that X provides brand safety that
means that their ad is not going to appear next
to extreme content. One of the things that Musk is
being accused of, and rightly so, is he is is
pretty much of a First Amendment freak and thinks anything
(08:03):
should be able to be put on X, even some
of the most vile stuff you can imagine, and we're
talking about political conspiracies, I mean anti Semitic tropes, And
as a matter of fact, he has reposted on his
X account, his personal one, some of this really vile,
(08:25):
disgusting stuff. But it's all First Amendment right, And so
four percent of marketers say we believe that our ads
are not.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Going to appear next to this kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
In the meantime, that's four percent, with Google thirty nine
percent and Cantar's love this title the Global Thought Leadership Director.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Sure, why not.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Advertisers have been moving their marketing spend away from X
already for several years, ever since Musk bought it. There
was even an issue beforehand because a lot of advertisers
are going to the Internet and finding it it's.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Not as wonderful as it's portrayed.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
I mean, when the Internet first came out, and you
could micro target the listeners, the viewers.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
The people that are searching, put up search words, etc.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
It was a complete magic not so much, not so much,
and so advertisers are pulling back and then this just
has turboed it with x Kantar said excess changed so
much in recent years and can be so unpredictable now
from one day to the next, it's difficult to feel
confident about your brand safety. Your safety meaning adds next
(09:50):
to some of this crazy stuff that's going out there
that really offends people.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
It really does. You'll say you have a racist trope.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Going on, and there it is, there's your ad pops up. Well,
I mean advertisers going we'd rather not because business tries
to be as objective non political as possible. That's changed
a bit over the years. And it used to be
business would not touch politics. Well that's changed, but still
(10:20):
big business, small business wants to stay away from this
really crazy conspiracy, anti Semitic, anti black, antilb LGBTQ plus stuff.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
They just don't want to get near this.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
And so what ended up happening is Musk after last
year telling advertisers when complaints were coming up to go
screw yourself.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
And by the way, he didn't use the word screw.
He did go a little bit bluer than that.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
He came back and said okay, and he tried to
make them feel better and say, okay, let's do this right. Well,
that didn't work because frankly, the advertisers didn't believe him.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
He must can be pretty volatile.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I mean, this is a guy who is, you know,
one of the worlds If a matter of fact, he
may very well be the world's richest man now and
no one tells him what to do. You know, when
you have that much money, you rule the roost. It's
that simple. There's virtually no limitation here and he can
(11:27):
do whatever he wants and if he wants to tell
advertisers to go screw off, he does, and then he realizes, okay,
we can't do that, let's move in another direction. And
if that doesn't work, then what he did is filed
a lawsuit against an ad industry body and that includes Unilever, Mars, CBS.
I mean, it's a big organization and is now claiming
the group conspire.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
To boycott X.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I don't know if the group conspire to do that,
but is sure boycotting him now. Yesterday, an X spokesperson,
of course, said that the platform now offers longer brand
safety performance analytical capabilities than ever before, and we're seeing
an all time high level of usage.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Don't know if that's true or not.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
And our brand safety rate is on the average of
ninety nine percent, not the four percent that is reported
by Kantar. And since his purchase forty four billion dollars
in twenty twenty two, a lot of brands.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Have just retreated because it has gotten so political.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
It used to be Twitter where you would tweet something.
And I don't know how many people will still use X.
I mean, I knew everybody used Twitter, and I don't
know how many of them use X anymore.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Because they can be pretty offensive to a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
And Musk's own comments on X as spooked advertisers. Yeah,
last November, yet about a dozen brands IBM, DI is Paramount,
they just stopped spending because of concerns about anti semitism
and hate speech. By the way, Musk himself had endorsed
an anti Semitic conspiracy theory, which he later apologized for.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Oops.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Now, according to the report, YouTube is still the ad
platform marketers most prefer consumers. On the other hands, Amazon
and TikTok it ain't X on any level.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
It's weird how he bought AX. You remember when he
first bought X. It was almost like he went to
the supermarket.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
You need to go to the supermarket and you're standing
in line there if you're going to a clerk and
you see the rack, the magazine rack, and there's a
National Inquirer or there's another magazine and you just pick
it up right, or a candy bar, you just pick
it up swear the moment, right.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I think that's what he did with X.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Woke up one morning and said, yeah, I think I'll
buy it, and all of a sudden, forty four billion
dollars walks out the door.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Who owned X before because they did really well.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
I mean, wouldn't you love to have a business that's
worth X number of dollars and all of a sudden
you turn around and it sells.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
For twice that much.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
I mean, I've sold businesses in the past, and I
have to tell you, you know that I've.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Been in business for many, many years.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I've been in several businesses, most of them spectacular failures.
I'm pleased to say, I've never gotten twice as much
as it was worth.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
I should have sold it to Elon Musk.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
All right, this is kind of fun, well not necessarily
for you, certainly for me looking at you and making
fun of you.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
All right, you go to the gym, well, I go
to my gym, and there it is.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
There's a sign on the door, bathroom door walking out,
and it talks about what happens if you use steroids
for false illegal to buy anabolic steroids, and then it
gives all the symptoms of using stairsroids. One of them
a lot of acne, usually on the back vault. You
bulk up. That's why people use them a lot. Everybody
(15:08):
gets a little squeaky, and then you look down when
you take your clothes off and you're screaming.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Where they go. That's what happens with steroids.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Well, testosterone is a steroid, and usually testosterone.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Well, there was that people men do have an issue
with testosterone.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
It is a medical condition to have low testosterone levels.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
However, now what's going on?
Speaker 2 (15:38):
And Wall Street Journal did an article on this, and
it was basically talking about a fountain of Youth store
if you will in Delray, beach and they really rip
into this, but I think it's a much bigger story.
And botox for the skin weight loss drugs. Now that
we're taking those weight lost drugs originally for diabetes, it's
(16:02):
exploded on that one. And then a top seller is
the steroids. But for virility, that's what men are taking
this for.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
You have d you're going to be more viril or viral.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
It depends on how much on the internet you go.
It doesn't make a lot of sense. It really doesn't happen.
As a matter of fact, it goes the other way.
You become infertile with steroids with testosterone. And yet we're arguing,
or we're hearing, you're going to be better, You're going
to be girthier.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I love that one. By the way, Longer, stronger, girthier.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
They sort of mentioned that your sperm count could very
well go down to zero and that is a huge problem.
Infertility has exploded. And let me tell you, the people
that do this, not only advertised, but do this take testosterone.
Broadcast King Joe Rogan, action star Alan Richardson.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Richison, Robert F. Kennedy Junior.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Has said he has taken testosterone and he showed a
picture of his physique seventy years old.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Looks pretty good. I'd love this.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
And then Elon Musk boy and he's in good shape.
Elon Musk and he retweeted a post that said, low
T men can't think for themselves. High T alpha males
are the best decision makers for democracy. Now that's kind
of crazy, but go figure. Motivational speaker Tony Robbins invested
(17:43):
in a telehealth testosterone prescriber and he promotes steroids on Instagram.
Vitamin D Shop, you know the vitamin shop. You can
buy there. They announced that they're going to have a
telehealth service because you testosterone prescriptions depending on actually it
(18:05):
depends on the dose. Well, I think you think you
need prescriptions across the board. How much does this cost?
I don't know, twelve twenty six hundred dollars a year
for these treatments, and it's touted and some of these
online ads. You go, you'll have better performance in the gym,
you'll have better performance in the bedroom. Now, uh, I
(18:29):
don't know about the bedroom, because you know, when you
do studies about this, there really aren't really good stories
are all anecdotal. But here is what I'm thinking, uh,
and this is based on actuality and the side effects
that have been noted.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
So let's say you go in the sack with someone.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Let's say you're a man and you're having sex with
a woman or a man, doesn't matter, And how sexy
can you be?
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Now? Your body is bulked up, There's no question about it.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
I mean you, oh, you're a strong, big guy, but
you have zits that are popping all over your back. Okay,
isn't that fun? And let's not forget the nerds, which
I've gotten a whole lot, smart, smaller, and all kinds
of other side effects.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
You know, I just can't see it working. I can't.
And the reason I'm.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Bringing this up not only is Friday, but it has
become a thing.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
It really has. Now. Botox is about the same level that.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
It was when you talk about the weight loss drugs
have exploded the with govs ozepic. I mean, just those
have exploded beyond belief. And also a testosterone is growing
like crazy. I mean, guys, just you know you have
low tea and bull you know, I mean you might,
(19:51):
but that's pretty rare.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
That's pretty rare.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
All right, enough of that, do I have low ta
probably am I gonna have this stuff?
Speaker 1 (19:58):
No? No, not interested? Not interested?
Speaker 2 (20:01):
And do I care if I'm stronger, longer, girthier, No,
now I really don't.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
You know, it's all the same to me. Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
By the way, I don't do well, never did well
with women. I must add, just one of those things.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
We know. Yeah, I know, I know.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
I have some great stories about yeah, trying to date
and it just didn't.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Work out very well at all, as you can imagine,
which is probably why I am the way I am now.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
You know. Yeah, I hate God because look what he
did to me. That's not true.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Okay, how do we end the week? We end the
week always the same way with this week's World in
Review living under a rock.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Well, here's what you've missed, piping hotch off the newswires
from around the corner to around the world.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
This is this week's World in Review.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
And let's do it because we have some big, big stories.
There's those this thing as a week that doesn't have
massive stories. So we've got international stories, we have national
stories that I'm going to talk about. But I think
the most important story, the one that affects most of
us the most, very deeply is the fact that Costco
(21:17):
is raising its membership price for the first time in
seven years, and I kicked into effect, and so most
of the plans are increasing by five dollars to sixty
five dollars a year because they want to help offset
expenses and keep its prices down. And so this is
(21:39):
absolutely devastating. And I have the Blasto five thousand card
I's one hundred dollars a year and now it was
one hundred and ten dollars a year or whatever. This
was a killer, by the way, this was an absolute killer.
So now moving into some stories that actually are a
little bit tough. This week Israel's military recovered the bodies
(22:00):
six hostages that Hamas had killed in one of the
tunnels in Gaza, and as Israeli troops.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Were moving in to the area where.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
The tunnels were, these six hostages, including one American, they
were executed, shot in the back of the head. And
while this was going on, the peace talks are happening.
At least the cease fire talks are happening, and they're
actually pretty close.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Natanyahu, although is.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Holding firm as to that Israel wants to keep some
kind of president's presence in Gaza, and Hamas says, we
want a complete total withdrawal.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
You're done. So are they moving in the right direction? Maybe? Maybe?
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Actually some good news. San Francisco forty nine ers wide
receiver Ricky Pearsol shot in the chest during an attempted robbery,
and not only did he survived, I mean it was
point blank and the bullet went through his chest came
out the back end. I mean it was a through
and through did not hit any vital organs.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
I mean, he was home in two days. He showed up.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
At the game last night, and he's going to make
a full recovery. He's out for four games. It's almost
if another happened. And the seventeen year old who was
arrested for the shooting, according to his attorney, has now
apologized and his parents have apologized for shooting someone at
(23:35):
point blank.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Presidential debate, Well, the terms have now been ironed out.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
They've come to terms.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
The Donald Trump campaign and the Kamala Harris campaign. They're
going to use the same rules that they did in
the CNN campaign or in the CMN CNN debate, and
that is the microphones will be muted. During the time
the other debater is speaking. When Trump speaks, her microphone
(24:05):
is muted. When she speaks, his microphone is muted. She
wanted it open mics. She wanted open mics in the
hopes that he would interrupt because he has a hard
time just debating court according to normal rules. But it
considered probably a win for him. We'll see what happens
on that one. We were told that cell phones don't
(24:26):
cause brain cancer. Of course they do. Come on, you've
read that information on the internet. Doesn't Robert Kennedy say
they cause brain cancer?
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Of course they do. Well, that doesn't seem to be
the case.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
The review was commissioned by the World Health Organization and
was published in the Journal of Environmental Internet Environment International.
No brain cancer with hell of mobile phones? Did anybody
really think that was the case?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
You know?
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Rate on off transmission lines. The Paris mayor went a
little bit crazy. She decided that the Olympic rings on
the Eiffel Tower are now going to be permanent. You know,
come on, really, yep. Because Paris known as a city
of Lights and was the host of this year's Olympics,
(25:18):
I imagine has to be known forever as the city
that had the twenty twenty four Olympics. Well, how about
Los Angeles that has the twenty twenty eight Olympics. Nope,
we want you to think of our city as the
Olympic village or the Olympic city.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
I don't know what's gonna happen. Good.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
The only good note to that one is that the
next mayor is going to probably go the other way.
All right, I will finish it up that way because
coming up, Well, first of all, my podcast is up,
of course, I pitched that the Bill Handle Show podcast.
The website is Bill handleshowpodcast dot com. Tomorrow Morning, Handle
(25:59):
on the Law from eight to eleven o'clock, following Dean Sharp,
He's on from six to eight. Neil himself Give Me
the Look right now is on from two to five
with the Fork Report.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
And Neil is there.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
God, Neil, you look like you've just eaten something horrible.
You're about to die. That's the look you just gave me.
And you're up filling in. You and Marlaw are filling
in for Gary and Shannon.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Yes, today is our last day.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
They'll be back on Monday, and I will be back
putting a bit in your mouth and a saddle on
your back on Monday.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
All right, sounds good.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Have you put the show together yet, by the way,
for today or tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah? Today? Well, yes, of course. All right, So you
want to you want to pitch some of the stuff
you're talking.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
About, well, you know, the biggies of course, the Georgia
school shooting, the fact that his father gave him a
gift of assault rifle after he was told by the
FBI there might be an issue hunting by Hunter Biden obviously,
but also a fun one coming up is how to
master small talk in the workplace. It's gonna be a
hot one today, there, Bill, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Buddy, hey, yeah, there he is, there he is.
