Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listenings KFI AM six forty the bill handles show
on demand on the iHeartRadio f Yours call is Ice.
You will like to sacrifice O love KFI AM six
forty handle here. It is a Tuesday Taco Tuesday morning,

(00:24):
October twenty one. Matter of fact, twenty one, it's the
twenty first day of the shutdown, and Congress is still
at a stalemate and it's going to really already start
at to some extent, hurting the pocket book of so
many federal employees, and it's going to now ramp up
big time. Also, Vice President jd Vance and Tel Aviv

(00:47):
today trying to keep this ceasefire somehow together, and it's
just not doing a really good job. Okay, let's turn
to some local news, and that has to do with
La Mayor Karen Bass and Congressional Democrats out of Los Angeles.
Congress people have announced there's going to be an investigation

(01:08):
into the misconduct potential misconduct of the Trump administration's aggressive
immigration crackdown that has grabbed citizens and made use of
racial profiling, they say, and terrified communities for months. Well, yeah,
all of that is true, and the basic problem is
will the Trump administration be stopped by the courts, because

(01:33):
I will tell you Congress is not going to stop them.
They can be all well, not even attempt to stop.
There will be nothing but these investigations going nowhere. Why
because both Congress and the Senate are controlled by Republicans.
And you think any negative information, as in statement or

(01:54):
resolution coming out of either the Senate or the House
somehow is going to be negative towards the president. Of
course not. I can't wait for the hearings just to
see the difference between the Democrats and Republicans. I love those,
don't you? These hearings have they're supposed to be investigative hearings.
Of course they're not. It's simply for congress people and
senators to just spew their feelings, then ask a question

(02:18):
or to and attack the other side. So here is
the argument, is that the administration is illegally terrorizing immigrants,
which they're not supposed to do, picking up US citizens,
grabbing folks out of car washes, and what make yeah,
I believe all of that is happening. Now, a couple

(02:40):
of things I want to get some reality here. Number One,
Christinolm is saying we're only going after the worst of
the worst. Give me a break. They are going far
more than just the worst of the worst. They're picking
up people that are completely innocent, not innocent of being
illegal immigrant immigrants they are. But as far as these

(03:01):
folks are felons and they're a danger to the community, yeah,
I don't think so. And one of the basic premises
is if the government can do this to those people,
those people read Spanish, Latinos, people who don't speak English,

(03:22):
then they can do it to all of us. Well,
I mean they could. Are they going to know if
you're white and you speak the way we speak, whether
we're literate or not, and depending on KFI listeners, are
on a whole different level, and not a good one.
If you are white and you go, hey, excuse me,

(03:45):
you don't pick me up, You're fine, that's the reality.
If you work in a car wash and you don't
speak a whole lot of English, not so fine. And
that's the reality. And here's the scare is if the
government and can do this, then they can legally go

(04:06):
ahead and pick any one of us up. Because this
is the way the courts are going. The premise of
the Trump administration and Homeland Security says, if we say
you are a threat, or we think you are a threat,
or we think you are illegal, whether or not you're
an American citizen, we don't have to check. We can
move forward. We're not going to give you due process.

(04:27):
And the courts will back that up. If you say it,
it must be so if you build it, they will come.
If you say I'm an illegal alien, then I am
an illegal alien. And that's the part that's the scariest.
I just happened in Portland where the lower court say

(04:49):
you can't do this. You can't send you can't nationalize
the Guard and send the Guard into Portland because you
say there's an open rebellion on the streets, not demonstrations
that have gone south, open rebellion. And the appeals court said,
bottom line is president has the ability to do that.

(05:10):
Does the president have the ability and through Homeland Security
to arrest almost anyone? It looks that way, looks that way.
If you're a threat, you're a threat. So Garcia, Robert
Garcia of Long Beach, the Democrat, of course, a congress person,
and he's on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee,

(05:34):
said that his committee would investigate every single brutal misconduct.
Can't wait to see what the chair of the committee
is going to say on that one. Initial reports of
the detention of at least one hundred and seventy US
citizens by immigration authorities, that was what Pro Public reported.
Now the reality is is American citizens, I think are

(05:55):
exempt because what the Department says is we're not arresting
American citizen and is based on their immigration status or
their putative immigration status. It's because they got in the
way of immigration officials. They got in the way of
the cops. And when you get in the way of
the cops, we, uh, well, we arrest you for getting
in the way of the cops. Now is that true? Yeah?

(06:17):
I think so. I think so. And the allegations agents
have been roaming the streets of la touting guns and
chasing down immigrants, Yeah, I think that's true too. Immigrants
being dragged out of their cars. It's happened in Chicago,
other cities, excuse me, but for the most part Democrat cities.

(06:40):
I guarantee you that there will be no Republican led
city that will ever be an open rebellion. And it
doesn't matter how many demonstrations are out there. There is
no such thing as a Republican led city. And you
could talk about whether it's a republican mayor republican council

(07:01):
or both. They will never be an open rebellion. It
will always be a democratic led city. Yeah, you know,
welcome to the Trump administration. I mean, that's the way
it goes. And if you're upset about that, a lot
of people are on legal grounds. I mean, not even
notwithstanding the allegation of racism and notwithstanding the allegation of

(07:25):
due process being ignored, it's simply the issue of the
law is being violated. Well, the courts are being really clear.
The law is what the President says it is, and
that's what we're going. And that's the scary part. That
is the part that I have a real tough problem
is I can't believe the courts are going that way.

(07:45):
But you know what, the courts have swung right too.
You've got a lot of Trump, You've got a lot
of Trump judges, and he has changed because and you
have well obviously the Supreme Court, he changed the face
of the court completely. It was five to four democrat
or five to four liberal for decades. If not more

(08:09):
in terms of the numbers. And now it's six' three.
Conservative and this court loves presidential. Power congress loves presidential.
Power and that was the demonstration On, saturday the No kings.
Demonstration why Because congress wants to Make Donald trump a.
King it's that. Simple and don't argue with that, one

(08:31):
because that's exactly what's going. On and you, know if
that's where we're, going if we elect someone to be
our king and we change the, constitution and believe, me
there will be motions introduced In congress for a constitutional
amendment Allowing trump or any, well any. President but the

(08:53):
way they describe, it Only. Trump it can only be
a president who has been president and lost the next.
Election that is president that can go. Forward that's the.
Motion are we going that? Way who the hell? Knows?
Now you didn't KNOW i Was African, american did? You,
Well i'm not Exactly African. American BUT i can apply

(09:14):
for An African american. Scholarship but aren't there scholarships just
for black? People you bet there. ARE i talked to
a couple of years ago about a scholarship set up
by An italian businessman only For italians there are all
kinds of scholarships that are limited in. Scope, well a

(09:37):
scholarship for black students AT U See San diego is
now available to anyone regardless of. Race it was a
lawsuit that was filed by a group of white, students
white people arguing that the scholarship fund violated a whole
series of, laws including a law of eighteen seventy, one

(09:59):
the Q Clan act of eighteen seventy one that was
put in place to Protect Black americans in The. South
so The Black Alumni association or Scholarship fund FOR Uc
San diego students is now called The Goins Alumni Scholarship
fund because it's founding Donor lenin Goyn Is, WELL i

(10:22):
had to name it after someone because they can't call
it The Black Alumni association because it's not just for
what black, students it's for. Everybody they can't be. Racist,
yes can you have An African american be a? Racist of,
course you can have anybody be a. Racist and the
point is the court is. Moving, well here's the bottom.

(10:43):
LINE i, mean it's boils right down to a big.
Issue and WHEN i Interviewed Jesse jackson years ago and he,
admitted straight, out admitted that there was affirmative, action and
there were laws and there were policies that Gave African

(11:05):
americans a step. Up they gave him the advantage straight,
out and he defended that, saying we have to have
a level playing field because blacks were so discriminated. Against
and by the, way when you talk about discrimination Of
African americans And italians And Pacific islanders And Native, americans

(11:28):
nothing compares To African american racism in this. Country. Nothing
this is the original. Sin the first black was brought
to this country as a. Slave the first black man
came over as a. Slave that didn't happen with anybody.
Else So Jesse jackson, said we have to have a
level playing. Field therefore we can practice affirmative, action which

(11:49):
a lot of people argue is a form of, racism
and it is when you think about, it giving an
advantage to one race over the. Other and he, says
we need a level playing, field AND i, go when
does the level playing? Field and he, goes basically, never
based on a four hundred year, history the way THE,
us even the PRE us Treated African, americans, well the

(12:10):
lawsuits have said that's done that's done because a level
playing field is a level playing, field and from my,
understanding level means level that no one has given an.
Advantage so a black scholarship. Fund. Nope now private schools

(12:31):
can still do. This this is a public school and
we'll see how far that. Goes affirmative, action as we,
know is, done and it's gone From African americans were
basically not even allowed in. School the philosophy in this
country was that they didn't have the, ability they didn't

(12:52):
have the brains that matched white. PEOPLE i, mean it's
astounding to, me but that was the philosophy of this
country for The Civil Rights. Act and so we've come
to the point now where we've had a black, president
we have black CEOs of. CORPORATIONS i, mean are there

(13:12):
people out there who still think blacks are? INFERIOR i
don't think. So maybe there are some crazy people that.
Do Do African americans need affirmative? Action do they need the? Advantages?
Yeah if you look at it, statistically you bet there
are more Poor blacks than there are poor whites if

(13:32):
we're talking about per capita in this. Country but also
there are poor In latinos than there are in this.
Country and then there are whites in this. Country so
here we have this particular scholarship, fund but it's going

(13:55):
to go we're swinging in that. Direction by the, way
the courts have been a couple of interesting. Ones one
of the first cases was here In california Where David.
Baki this is in the early seventies Where David, baki
who was a try to be a medical student that
you See irvine or you See, davis who was a white,

(14:16):
guy was denied entrance because An African american took his
place because it was a quota system and The African
american lesser scores was not as qualified per the university's
rules and, regulations testing, requirements. Etc And baki went to court,
argued reverse. Discrimination you're reversing against white. People in the court,

(14:38):
said you, bet that's absolutely. True you can't do that.
Anymore but race can be a, factor a, factor and
now the courts now the courts say no. Factor race
cannot be considered at. All so if you have a
scholarship for black, students chow. Baby, actually if you haven't

(14:59):
one For, italians that's child. Baby, okay let's get out
of here on that. One fair, enough wealthy families are
writing mission. Statements now what does that? Mean, well this is,
well let me put it to put it this. WAY
ubs AND Jp morgan Private bank assist families with assets

(15:21):
that typically exceed fifty million dollars or. More so we
have a huge number of listeners that have fifty million
dollars or. More the rest of you that are under
fifty million dollars you don't have to listen to. This,
well maybe you have less and you're going to leave
any amount of money to family. Members and what the
rich people are, doing AND i think it's going to

(15:43):
come down all the way to people who have not
a lot of money but still leaving some to Family
are these mission statements what happens AFTER i? Die kind of?
Thing do they have any legal Import absolutely. Not this
is about the families getting together or whoever is leaving

(16:04):
all the money to family, members usually a patriarch who
established a business and has everybody sit down and talk
about where the family is, going what charities are going
to be continued to be funded and helped out to
somehow try to avert a contentious relationship between siblings and

(16:28):
other people who are claiming to be inheritor's beneficiaries of
wealth and as if that's going to do ANYTHING i.
ASK i get asked, Questions AND i mean Every, saturday
someone is contesting someone's, will Ge, bill what DO i?
Do CAN i do my own will on the? Internet
how much money do you? Have four million? DOLLARS i,

(16:48):
go you out of your, mind you, die you pop.
Off there are going to be, cousins there are going
to be people you've never seen before come out of
the woodwork and, say how about? Me how do you
take care of? That, well you have a, trust or
you have a will that's air, tight so you go
to an attorney who can draft this, up this up

(17:10):
because you know there's going to be a tax. Anyway
so not that fifty million dollars is in my, life
BUT i handle my. Kids there is a, Trust there
is a family trust that the majority of money goes
to my. Kids and do we get together on a
regular basis and talk about the philosophy where the family is? Going,
no we do. Not the only RELATIONSHIP i have with

(17:33):
my kids VISA vi the. Trust the only COMMUNICATION i
have IS i keep a copy of the trust at.
Home and every Time i'm unhappy with one of the.
KIDS i bring out the trust AND i, say you
see this. Trust you KNOW i can change this trust
any TIME i, want and you Know i'm going to
do this. Afternoon leave it all to your. Sister. Oops

(17:58):
and THEN i do the same thing to the other.
One so they have no. Idea But i'll tell you
they are very solicitous and they treat me very very. Well.
DAD i love, You, Dad you're the greatest guy in the. World,
okay no money for? You and AM i leaving money to?

(18:23):
Charity oh that's the other. Thing. Dad you're not a
big fan of, charities are? You are? You is that?
Stick or you really don't like? Charities you, Know i'm
not a big fan of. CHARITIES i, mean you, know
kids don't eat And i'm okay with. That you, know
there are families who live in. Tents, OKAY i understand

(18:45):
that there's some very nice tents out. There there's a
will giving me the. Look, okay so much fearing, it thank.
YOU i work very hard at. It NOW i want
to talk a little bit about working beyond your retirement,

(19:05):
age WHICH i believe in AND i have. DONE i
should have retired a few years. AGO i, MEAN i
could HAVE i hit sixty. FIVE i just blew right
past that because the thought of not screaming and abusing
you is beyond my. Comprehension let me give you a
stat nineteen sixty Two american men worked on average to

(19:26):
the age of sixty. Six now it's below sixty. Five,
see we think of people everybody working longer than it's not.
True so now it's a year, earlier but the average
life expectancy has increased by nine. Years it was just
a poll done by The Longevity. Project seventy three percent

(19:50):
of adults were concerned by the idea of working ten
years longer in order to support a hundred year old,
lifestyle WHICH i don't understand at. ALL i, mean who's
going to live to be one hundred And research extensive
research has shown the second half of life is as
important a source of social, connection purpose good, health and

(20:11):
there is the issue good health and feeling good all
translates into living a lot. Longer one study of about
eighty three thousand older adults over the course of fifteen
years found that people who work past their traditional retirement
age of sixty five three times more likely to report

(20:32):
being in good. Health all of that is. Fantastic you
keep on, working you feel, good and that's absolutely. True
then there are the blue collar workers that work with their,
hands that work demands physical. Activity that's. ME i sit

(20:52):
on my, ASS i get, up go have a, bagel
refresh my, coffee and and it is a lot of physical.
Labor just this just the. WALKING i wake up in
the morning AND i go to the. STUDIO i have
a thirty foot. Commute this is a good. Thing but

(21:15):
the reality is that people are not looking at blue
collar workers where the exact opposite is. True my dad
was an electrician and he pulled wire for his most
of his adult life and it was tiring. WORK i,
mean he worked like an. Ass he worked his ass
off and he could not wait to. Retire and there

(21:37):
was none of. This let's go into another. Profession you're a,
plumber for. Example he make very good. Money but at sixty,
five you're. Ready, MAN i don't want to work another
ten or fifteen years. Now some people have to because
they have not done a good ability Saving and There's
amy raising her. Hand some people have to work to

(21:58):
supplement so security because you haven't done a good job
saving or you haven't been able to save because life
is so. Expensive but the bottom line is if you,
can if you feel, okay do you want to? Work,
Yeah i'm. Already i'm already checking out The walmarts around my.

(22:20):
Area i'm practicing saying, hey welcome To walmart In spanish
And farsi And. Chinese not. Bad what do you? Mean
get a job as A costco Greet they have people
at The Costcos New. Life those aren't. Greeters, no those aren't.
Greeters they actually. Work they take your, receipt they count

(22:42):
the number of items you have and they check them
and then they put that marketing pen through the through
the receipt to do it at the. Entrance, well they
just have people saying, yeah you know, what you're. Right,
ever since they do the you have to in Your costco,
card thank. You welcome To. Costco you're absolutely right. Done

(23:06):
it's going to. HAPPEN i feel better. Now you plan
on working past? Retirement what is? Retirement? Exactly all? Right
cono has no idea what retirement. Is he's so far.
Away will working past? Retirement? Yeah, yeah? Okay and working
past retirement you? Betja you? Know and why is? It

(23:28):
because none of us have blue collar. Jobs, Well kono
does because he has to reach over and push a.
BUTTON i get that that's multiple. Buttons, yes oh that's,
true multiple. Buttons ACTUALLY i have just off and, on
AND i don't know how that. WORKS i still have a.
