Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
six forty.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
I'm in the move for food d five am six forty.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Bill Handle here on a Friday, last hour of our
show for the weekend. It's one of my favorites, not
the most favorite, and we're gonna do footy Fridays just
a moment, but some of the stories we're looking at.
Open AI is facing seven lawsuits claiming that chat GPT
drove people to suicide. Seven people are suing, six adults

(00:33):
and one teenager. Five just filed in California State Court
wrongful death, assisted suicide, involuntary manslaughter, negligence.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
We've talked about that before. By the way. That's the
fear that iHeart has in allowing me.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
To do Marginal Spiritual Advice on Sunday, which I've been
wanting to do for years, because there are people that
actually do talk about suicide on that show, and they're
afraid that I'm gonna go, Hey, you only have three
minutes to the next break, Okay, so let's do this
as quickly as possible.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Ain't gonna happen, is it? No?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Unfortunately, they want ratings. They should let me do that,
for sure. It is time for Foody Friday with Neil Savedra.
We'll talk about our thanksgrilling event before we bail.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
But not a shocker. I was in the store the
other day.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
It was a Ralph actually, and I decided I'm going
to have some cookies. I happen to like short bread cookies,
so I'm going looking for shortbread cookies.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
And there's two or three different kinds, you know, dense ones,
not so dense ones.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
And there is half of the isle, half of that
aisle Oreo cookies. I mean, there must be thirty different
kinds of Oreo cookies up there, and there are some.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
New ones up there.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Neil, Yeah, tis the season as we get into the
different holidays. Of course, every food or product looks for
a new way to make a splash or to remind
you they're still here and there's reasons to try them.
But Oreo continues to come out with these limited edition cookies.

(02:15):
In this case, it's twelve count cookie, ten six unique
Thanksgiving inspired cookie flavors.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
So what could that be?

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I don't know, berries, pumpkin, whatever, turkey and stuffing, creamed corn,
sweet potato, cranberry sauce, caramel apple pie, and pumpkin pie
we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
These are the different flavored creamy feelings.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
So you know, all these fans that follow all this
stuff there seem to be divided in this one because
the flavors. Some are excited and intrigued in. Others are like, noop,
ain't gonna have happened. So I'm curious the turkey and stuffing.
That savory is going to be an interesting one. Cream
corn that could be sweet. I love cream corn. Sweet

(03:10):
potato might work, Cranberry sauce certainly should, camera apple and
pumpkin pie should.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But that turkey and stuffing that's gonna be.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
It's gonna be an interesting combo for people to you know.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Okay, So now here comes the question, because this is
my go to flavor I always employ, when do they
do smoked mackerel filling on an oreo cookie?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Exactly?

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Hope? I would?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Would you be surprised if they did something that crazy.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
It would have to be a gag, maybe tied to
a movie or something like that. But you know what's
even crazier about this bill. It's not even about the flavors.
Biggest complaint on this one shipping prices. The ten costs
nineteen ninety nine, but a lot of customers said, when
you look at the shipping costs, it's almost double the price.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
That's crazy. That's crazy because.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
These aren't going to be available in the story.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
That's okay. Now we're going to do stupid and it's groping,
is what it is. Campbell's has some new items and
you think of soup, don't you.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah, or at least something edible. Yeah, a little different,
but they look delicious.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Ish And what are they?

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Do you want to do that now? Or are we
going to a break?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, we can go and break.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
We'll do that for a minute or two, and then
I really want to push our event tomorrow back tomorrow, Yeah,
because that happens once a year and it's something that
Neil and I love doing and we hope you don't
want to miss it.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
You shouldn't miss it. You can't miss it.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
I wouldn't miss it.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
You're not going to miss it. No, you cannot miss
it because it's because it's your event, of which I
am helping you do it. Before we talk about thanksgrilling tomorrow,
which we're going to spend a minute doing, we are
I had asked you about new items from Campbell's and
so they have some new flavored soups, which is kind
of interesting because they always thought it they had every flavor.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Soup on the planet.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Now this is interesting because again during the holidays that
you get these products. I love these, but they are
not edible, so they're dropping two new products. They will
sell out. I guarantee these things always do.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
But I love these.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
They're two bags, so they're bags that can carry your
and they're calling them their holiday accessories collections. But it's
fashion sort of because they're carrying cases. But they're designed
to tote like your favorite dishes, like cashual casserole dishes,

(05:53):
like a thirteen y nine dish that goes in the bottom,
and keep those things warm while you're traveling.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
It's mac and cheese, or a green.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Bean castroll or something maybe a sweet potato castrole there.
Now you'll be able to, you know, take them with
you and they'll keep them more.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
And they're pretty damn nice looking. I'm not gonna lie what.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
They kind of have a nod to the red and
the white label.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Oh so it's not the Campbell's logo on it.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
No, it's not.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Wow, I would have thought they would do that. What
great marketing that is.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Well, you can tell that it's a Campbell's and if
it's a logo, it's small on there. It's not like
a duplicate of the can or anything like that. But
they're going to be dropping a couple of days on
November tenth. Now, when it comes to these things, you're
going to want to be part of their clubs and
all that stuff. But in this case, you're going to
want to visit sides season dot com starting November tenth,

(06:49):
one pm Eastern time, so that'd be ten am our
time to purchase yours in time for the holidays.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
And how much are they? She left that out?

Speaker 5 (06:57):
No, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Look at you, it's always with that. I don't see
a price on this, huh. I do not see a
price on this, but they certainly are. They look like
they're well made. And I'm trying to look and see
if it says on the No, I don't see it
on the website either.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
All right, when you came out and said Campbell's has
two new bags, I thought you were going to talk
about Will and me and make some kind of a joke.
But thank you for Yeah, Okay, thank you for not
doing that. I will stop giving you a look. But
if you haven't gotten used to being, you know, just
the point of this entire show when it.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Comes to attacks, I'm mortified.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Now I know you are small hands, big feet or
that big small feet, big hands, I don't.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Know whatever, whatever works.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Okay, now it's time to talk about our once a
year event, and that is that Neil does this every year.
It's Thanks Grilling, where it is a grilling event, and
this year it is from the wild Fork Food Yeah,
wild Fork here. I was about to conflate again being
with Stonefire. No Wild Fork Food Store in l goud

(08:10):
and Miguel I don't have in fun of me, so
I have to have to remember, which I never do.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
It's two to four o'clock.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
They'll be boy, they'll be grilling, they'll be chefs, they'll
be free samples. Zelman's will be there with free samples.
I mean, it's always fun and we eat and eat
and eat, and there'll be some great giveaways too.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
They always have great giveaways.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
But one of the coolest things when you pull up
is smelling because they've got the vehicles out there that
are pulling the barbecues and the food truck that they have,
and we're going to introduce you to a lot of
really cool people, chefs, and they always tie into charities
and all kinds of things, so it's gonna be a
good time had by all. We'll talk to the chefs,
we'll talk to some of the people from Wild Fork

(08:55):
Foods and why that store is special unique, and if
you haven't tried going inside one, you have to. And
if you're intimidated by it, don't be. But the way
they protect food and keep it from waste and becoming waste,
the way you can get things that you can't get
at other places, different cuts of meat.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
Yeah, it's just wondering.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
It's obviously it's free.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
And oh, part of the giveaways, by the way, there'll
be some giveaways gift cars to the Anaheim White House,
which we have not done before and they have.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Yeah, that is beyond fantastic.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
You get to go to the Anaheim White House and
they're at that point you're.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Going to get the bill Handle Special.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
You can order the bill Handle Special, which is one
glass of diet coke. However, it's still a big, big treat.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
A gift certificate.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
While or the Sphadra Special, which is a trough on
a moving conveyor belts.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
It really a great time. We're gonna have a great time.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Please come out and it's wide open, and of course
it's free and they're free samples and it's just fun fun.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Early that parking is always going to be an issue anywhere,
but I don't. I heard last year some people were
able to get in because of the parking.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Come on out. We really want it to be a great.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
I think it's a better I think, and I think
it's a better parking situation this year too.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
I think the store at.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Laguna Miguel is in Uh, there's a there's a good
sized parking.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
Oh no, it's a great it's a great area.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
I just want to meet as many people as possible
because this is uh the last one we're doing with
Wildfork Foods this year.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, and I don't want to meet as many people
as specialable, especially as a specialable, especially as special leable. Yeah,
we're gonna eat some speciables. I do not want to
meet you, but I am there. I'm there for the food,
and it is it's worth dealing with you for the food.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
I love meeting people and then all you hear on
Handle side is I don't care, move along, you're standing
in the way of my food.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I love the ones. I love the ones.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Hey, Bill, we met twenty three years ago at whatever
insert name of event.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
I go, yes, we did? I remember you know what?
I remember you? Good?

Speaker 5 (11:17):
Many God, I do remember.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
I don't remember who I met ten minutes ago. For
God's sake, I realized that that's true.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Okay, guys, it's that time is time for ask Handle anything,
where I answer anything, and you get to record those
and we talk about how during the week. But first
let's start and get right to it.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Cono. First question, morning, Handle and crew.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
So Handle, what.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Is your favorite jarred salsa? And do you like like
super hot salsas? And second, restaurant wise, where would you
go for good salsa? And since it's foody Friday, I
recommend Micassa.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
In Newport Beach if you've never been.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
I have not, And you know, I don't actually have
a favorite salsa. I just grab either El Touredo or
Mission or something, and I'm fine with that. So I
really don't care. And I actually don't go to restaurant.
Mexican residence for the salsa. I go for the food,
and if they happen to great salsa, it's terrific.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Good salsa is terrific. Neil, what's your favorite salsa?

Speaker 5 (12:22):
So by one?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
You don't have any one? It's hard. So yeah, good,
good for him that he has a favorite salsa.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
That's not bad. Okay, so much for that boy. That
was a compelling deep question.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I like that. Let's do another way. Oh yeah, it's food.
E Friday. That's true.

Speaker 7 (12:37):
Okay, Hello Bill, you recently started watching football? Why do
you now like football? I love football. This is Terry
from Maryland.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
And she loves football.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
I know she does. I started. I was never a
sports fan, and I like football. I'll tell you why.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Unlike basketball, Man, the last thing I want to do,
who is get close to a guy who's six foot eight,
who is dribbling a ball and sweating all over the
place and signs his name with an X and gets
ten million dollars a year to do it.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
So basketball is off the table.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Football is the strategy, the level of excellence. It really
can be a very complicated game, and I'm really paying
attention to the analysts, especially when Andy Reid comes up
with these new plays for Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
It's really interesting. But that's why a good question.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
By the way I did, I can't even tell you
how I just got interested in football. Also because you know,
I just recently got married and that went over. That
goes south very very quickly. So I'm bored on Sunday,
so I get to go watch football that tracks. Okay,
thank you.

Speaker 6 (13:51):
Connor, Hello Bill, James Paul, longtime listener, first time caller.
I have a question. Has there been an organization, restaurant, place,
anything You've ever been thrown out of, banned from? And
what did you do to deserve that? Also, I'd like
to request the Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, and I'd
like to dedicate to my wife, Florinda. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Who is in prison? Do you remember Art le Beau?

Speaker 6 (14:14):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (14:15):
You know he would take like love songs and always
uh it's these.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Girls at these gals. I want to dedicate this song to.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
My hobby, my loved one, Eduardo, who is in prison
for twenty five years.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
This one goes out to Little Puppet from Chanah.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah, I've already forgotten the question. What was it favorite restaurant?

Speaker 3 (14:38):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Kno see.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
I goes to show you with my memory is and
people ask me, I met you fourteen years ago.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Do you remember I was there?

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Uh was gonna you got thrown out of any restaurants
in estaurant?

Speaker 6 (14:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:50):
I actually have been thrown out of a restaurant many
many years ago. It was and all you can eat
buffet and I filled my plate up with but it
was with jello, which was really weird. Why the owner
would throw me out for jello? And I took enormous amounts.
I don't get it because it cost them nothing. So
that was the one time I was thrown out a restaurant. No,

(15:11):
the rest of it is no, because restaurants, to me
are actually places of worship.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
A lot of you go to church.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
I've got two places of worship where I actually jeny reflect.
When is the FED building, of course, because I happen
to be of that persuasion, And.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
The other one is a restaurant. So there you go.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
You can actually see me praying in front of a
restaurant and waiting for the doors to open up at
eleven thirty.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Okay, why don't we take a break. What do you think, guys?
Why would happen? Why would why?

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Why would brown eyed girl be connected to anything on
this show unless you get a story about brown eyed girl.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
What do you think that was his request for his wife?
Oh yeah, well yeah he's not. But he's not in prison.
He's not in prison, so it doesn't work.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Okay, I have to actually look at Lindsay to see
what eye color.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
All right, back we go as we finish, handle on
or ask handle anything? Tomorrow morning is handle on the law,
ask handle anything? Oh, by the way, you can from
now on. I was asked what Lindsay's eye color was,
and I have no idea because someone wanted to play
Van Morrison's brown eyed girl, which of course Cono did
because he doesn't pay attention to me. But callers coming

(16:23):
in just tell him what to do? You have to
play green eyed girl?

Speaker 2 (16:27):
All right? I finally remembered what her eyeballs look like
because I went and looked. All right, next question.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Hi, Bill, this is Surgier from the Chino Valley, and
I'm wondering how many Hawaiian shirts do you own.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
And which one is your favorite? Because I see you
wearing them a lot.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Thanks, Maybe a dozen, maybe a little more, few more?
Which one is my favorite. I don't know the one
with flowers on it because I only have eight of those,
and I've got a couple other ones, you know, Roote
sixty six ones. But anyway, I'm big on Hawaiian shirts.
There's just something about Hawaiian shirts that I just enjoy

(17:08):
because I think I'm Hawaiian.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Okay, next question.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Hey, Bill, I was wondering, how much do you pay
an alimony?

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Okay, that's actually a very good question. I pay zero
in alimony, zero because small Marjorie didn't asked for it,
and she lives way below her means as I do,
and so alimony is simply not part of the picture.
And that's very unusual. But that's the case. That was

(17:39):
actually a pretty good question, but I answered it.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
See normally people would say it's none of your damn business.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
If you say alimony fast enough, it sounds like all
my money.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Oh that's true, that's true, all my money. No, Marjorie
is not asking for the moon. We have a very
very amicable role relationship.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
You know.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I adore Marjorie and I talked to her all the time,
and the kids. So I'm very lucky that I went
through that kind of a divorce. She's a pretty special
lady to say the least.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Okay, one more where.

Speaker 8 (18:14):
Tuition is for Bill Handel, Hey, I was wanting to
know about your dad during World War Two. You said
that he left the Vatican and he joined the British
Army with the Jewish Brigade. What was his job in
the Jewish Brigade? Did he fight in combat or was
he like espionage or just wondering what your dad did?

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Thank Yeah, Oh that's a great question.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
The story of my father, which I've done before, my
father who fled Yugoslavia because the Nazis came into Yugoslavia,
and he fled to the Vatican where he actually masqueraded
became a Jesuit priest teaching Catechism, and I mean.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
It's just a wild story.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
He then left to join the British Army because he
just he wanted to fight. He ended up not being
in combat at all because of his skill level with languages.
He spoke nine languages and they used him for interrogation.
He spoke perfect German and they used him for intelligence interrogation.
And then he had a bunch of other jobs that

(19:14):
he did, and it was the British Army. It was
under Montgomery. I think it was the fifth Army of Montgomery.
Great question. By the way, it's a wild story. So
there's the answer. No, he never fought. He saved all
of his fighting for when I was born.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
One more. Yeah, Hey, Bill, I had a question for you.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
I know you talk about your daughters a lot coming
to ask you for stuff.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Do you ever when they come ask you for something, say,
go talk to.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Your brother.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Constantly, constantly.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
It actually sounded like you when you do it.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Actually, that's true. I cannot tell you.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Oh, and that's the other one is mom says it's okay,
go talk to your brother. That's exactly what I say.
All right, guys, we are done. We are finished. So
before Gary and Shannon show up, a quick word about
tomorrow afternoon from two to five o'clock, please join me
and Neil or Neil and me. I am guesting on

(20:16):
his show from two to five the whole broadcast, and
we're going to be broadcasting Thanks grilling where Neil and
his buddies chefs are coming aboard and we are going
to grill like crazy, huge samples, giveaways.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Zelman's will be there and it's.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
Going to be Wildfork Foods.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Oh yeah, I forgot to say that. Yeah, Es, that's right.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
The Wildfork Foods are providing all the meat. Sorry about that.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
Well for the very generous to our list while we're
there or when we're not there, and they are great hosts.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
We're looking forward to it.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Yeah, so have you join us?

Speaker 3 (20:50):
And Thanksgrilling is probably the best event we have if
you want food.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
Yeah. Good the guy tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Ye okay, all right, we're guys. Boy. Today went slow,
didn't it.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
We're Garyan Shannon up next Tomorrow is the Illegal Show
from eight to eleven. Of course, Thanks Grilling from two
to five, and again Monday.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Do we start this all over again?

Speaker 5 (21:16):
God?

Speaker 2 (21:16):
We do.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
What a pesky show we have that gets in the
way of our lives, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (21:23):
All right? Amy comes aboard, Amy's going Eh, maybe.

Speaker 8 (21:27):
I like it?

Speaker 2 (21:28):
I know you do. I know you do because you
enjoy waking up at one o'clock in the morning. Good
for you.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Well except for that part.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Yeah, except for that part.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Okay, Amy and will come aboard Monday morning with wake
up call at five, and then Neil and I jump
aboard from six to nine when we're all here and
then kno and make all of this happen, which is
why the show doesn't sound very good most of the time.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
This is KFI A M six forty. You've been listening
to the Bill Handle Show.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Catch My Show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
