That would be as good a race. It was as
good a race as you will ever see, not only
as the season closed up with McLaren being genuinely competitive
with Red Bull and Verstappan's running Red Bull by himself
because Pereza isn't up to anything, so McLaren. Both drivers
are there or thereabouts. But what unfolded was as good
as it gets.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Well, you've got Norris and for starving with the punctures
what sixty fourth lap? Yeah, you would have thought for
starting had it pretty much sort of a gentleman and
that particular juncture. And then well a driver we've been
talking about for while, George Russell, who I've got a
lot of time for it seems to really have some
composure there behind the wheel, has has taken it out

The thing, so when we stap and goes in for
the pit stop, they can't pull the back wheel off.
Why is that? That's pressure, you see, That's what happens
with the field, So pressure they crack and then suddenly
Norris's back. And do you remember when Lewis Hamilton and
Vastappan back in the days when Mercedes were competitive, they
ran over each other, they crashed regularly, and this was
the same. This is just Norris is replaced and that's

what makes it so exciting.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Well, Norris's rice the season has been one of the highlights,
hasn't it. Just a casual observer, he's a genuine and
it's great to have this competitive NAEs coming back to
it because red Bull been so strong for so long,
So no, I'm welcome in. So as a neutral fan.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
You've got red Bull, you've got McLaren, you got Mercedes,
and you got Ferrari a genuinely competitive now and so
that's good for them.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
That's gas more than that, good for the sport.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Tell twenty. Once they got across the line, was that
a success in any way, shape or form. Did that
do for cricket what it was supposed to?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I think they will argue just the entry into the
United States any subsequent to that with the the MLC
Major League Cricket coming up, I'll say it's a launching
pad if you like to try and keep that sustained.
I think they've been let down by the pictures over
the course of the tournament. I mean, fortunately, it's produced
some close games and you've had outsiders coming through into

the last eight, et cetera. Afghanistan, United States, but ultimately
the juggernaut that's India has has won through. So yeah,
and I'm pleased with South Africa to to be able
to make the final of a major tournament as well.
I mean, they've been threatening for so long. I've been
accused of the dreadful tag, that the choker tag if
you're like in semi finals, et cetera. So to get
through to the final for the ms of a breakthrough,

(02:35):
but I just felt like, yeah, that the pictures went
up to it another it's if you're a better and
you have that, you want a good competition between bat
and ball. But the inconsistency meant that there was just
the hesitancy on their part.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
And I know you want to celebrate the warriors, don't
we all? Don't we all?

Speaker 2 (02:55):
At sixty six six last time I was sitting in
this seat last week.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
So, but I don't know. We got Andrew Webster on
the program tomorrow and so I don't know what happened.
I don't know how you explained it was an interview
of your ILK cast came well, I'm going to have
to But at the end of the day, it was
a very good game though, because the Broncos are a
solid side and they had the you know, the ability
to come back, but they never looked like they were
going to win.
