Speaker 1 (00:00):
Black Caps in India.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Yeah, that was a phenomenal result. And I mean it's
a few days afterwards now, is it, but worthy of
reflection in that I think it's one of New Zealand's
most historic cricket feats. For my mind, it's a bit
of a holy grail. I mean, to win in India
sixty nine years in trying and then to just take
a series there just is me. Mitchell Santner hats off.

(00:23):
I mean, just thirteen wickets in the Test match by
far and away his most outstanding performance in the white
at least for New Zealand and India. Not beaten in
the Test series at home since twenty twelve. No Williamson,
no Bolt these days in the side, or Williamson's out
injured at the moment. I just thought it was one
for the ages.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Brilliant. Would it be like someone coming here and beating
the All Blacks at Eaton Park or something?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah, yeah, it's a bit like I suppose Ireland coming
and winning a series against the All Blacks a few
years agow.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yes they did. Yeah, all right, well that's great. You're
very toughed about this.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
That's a bit of a high for us. Cricket tragics
out there.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Can I just bring up a point that's been bugging
me for the last week please? Last weekend everyone went
nuts and said this was the best weekend of New Zealand,
of sport for New Zealand. Ever, Yeah, wasn't that just
by chance that there were randomly all these finals we
were involved and on the same weekend?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Perhaps slight hyperbole right in the circus there's people you know,
touch in the in the now or just recency biases
how it's described.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
It is because they've plenty over the years. But there
was a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I know it was good and I don't want to
take away from minute or to burst the bubble. No,
but just you know, we're not comparing apples with apples.
It's not like we did well at the Olympics. That's
quite a unmeasurable finite time with a number of sports,
and it's you know, you can compare year on years.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
It was just an enjoyable time for sports fans to
be engaged. A number of codes.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Okay, all right, Liam Austin, so he's given the middle finger.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
I thought you probably struck struck a call with a
number of motorists there on any road in New Zealand
at any given time. I mean, what's your first reaction
when you are annoyed? I mean, I don't know. There's
a temptation to flip the bird, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah? There definitely is. Yes, I think you swear first.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, yeah, I was just quite. I mean these guys, yeah,
you know, and you're going get three hundred k's or
whatever your life slashing before your eyes, even if you're
a normal motors in your life slashing before your eyes. Yeah,
there is that temptation, isn't it. Well, you know, I'm
going to go down here, but yep, I'm going to
flip the bird in the in the process.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
So is he?

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Is he? He's doing all right though, isn't he?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I think so. I mean he's probably offended a few
people with with maybe he's been aggressive and he's been forthrighting.
Is he's got to push for for holding this formuly
one seat? Yeah, and he's going to fight for it and therefore, yeah,
he's some raw reactions probably what you would expect in
those in those circumstances.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
These silver firms have won their Constellation Cup for the
third time in fourteen.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Attempts they have. I caught some of the back end
of that. I was astonished actually just how dominant they
were over the Diamonds. Given the backstory recent years Diamonds
World champions, et cetera. This team has just turned around.
They've lost the series to England, They've turned around, They've
won the Constellation Cup. It was just pretty much flaws.
I mean, they had they put the Australian goal shooting

(03:27):
attack under so much, the shooting circle under attack, so
much pressure. Grayson Wecky was a star under the hoop,
but she was getting such brilliant ball from the mid court.
It was just flying down their time after time and
it was just out and out dominance brilliantly.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, well done.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I mean fourteen, eleven and eighteen goal victories are now
potentially a clean sweeper in Melbourne tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Another great weekend of sport.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Yeah right up there with the would we call it
the second best weekend of sport New Zealand. Andrew Ortison was, well,
just take good sport full style.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Alright. Sounds good. For more from early edition with Ryan
