The White House says released emails claiming Donald Trump spent hours with a victim of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein create a fake narrative.

The House Oversight Committee has released a tranche of emails and documents from Epstein's estate - another referencing the now US President as 'the dog that hasn't barked'.

The White House says the victim referenced in the emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said Trump wasn't involved in any wrongdoing.

US correspondent Mitch McCann told Ryan Bridge Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

He says the White House says these are nothing more than bad faith efforts to distract from Trump's historic accomplishments.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Cisco's Stateside with Mitch McCann. Mitch, the latest Epstein from
beyond the Grave. These Epstein emails keep coming, and this
one mentions Trump quite specifically.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yeah, that's right, Good morning, Ryan. New allegations this morning
that suggests Donald Trump may have known more about the
exploits of Jeffrey Epstein than he has led on. Now,
the context of this is that the administration has been
under a lot of appreciator release of all the Epstein files,
these documents and emails, which some believ will shed light
to the extent of his crimes and may disclose the
involvement of other high profile names. Now, House Democrats have

(00:31):
released emails today from Epstein's estate. Now keep in mind
here before I read them, that Donald Trump has always
said he wasn't involved or had any knowledge of Jeffrey
Epstein's crimes. This is one email from April twenty eleven.
Epstein wrote to Gilaine Maxwell. He said, I want you
to realize that the dog that hasn't barked a is Trump.
He also added an unnamed victim spent hours at my

(00:53):
house with him. He has never once been mentioned. And
in twenty nineteen he wrote to the author Michael Wolfe
about Donald trum of coursing you about the girls as
he asked Elaine to stop. Now, the White House sees
these stories and nothing more than bad faith efforts to
distract from his historical accomplishments. The White House is due
to speak at a press briefing in about an hour,
and you can expect that conversation will dominate the press

(01:16):
briefing much.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Where are we at with releasing the full files? So
it hasn't happened yet.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Day, It hasn't happened yet, and the White House sees
there's essentially no need to do so. But I think
this will increase the pressure on them. Caroline Leavitt will
be asked about this and Donald Trump later in the day.
And you know, one of the big issues for Donald
Trump is this just keeps coming up. I think you
said beyond the Grave. It keeps coming up every couple
of weeks, and it's really infuriating Trump and it's really

(01:41):
upsetting many of his base because he campaigned on releasing
all the files. So I think this increases the pressure
to do so.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
It does a much Thank you for that much, McCann,
and you is correspondence for.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
