(00:00):
Where we go. Who really readsall of their emails? I do you
do? Do you read all youremails? Oh? No, no,
I don't get that many. Youread all your emails from your bosses?
Here at the edwal Queen Casino,He says, No, I don't know
the ones that who does in particularlythe ones that are like engineering related,
which I have, Like, yeah, that's not my issue at all.

(00:20):
Let me just say this, justa word to the wise out there,
all right, all the managers, all the leaders out there, corporate executives,
whatever. If you really have somethingimportant that you need your employees to
know, sending out an email doesnot get it done. You got to
follow up either a with another email, or B a thirty or see a
third email, or d do itin person. Again, all right,

(00:43):
go to the people affected by this, and go to them, and you
say something. The art of communicationhas been lost because everybody thinks they can
just put something in a freaking email, hit send and they're off the hook.
That's not the way I operate.I will never operate. That's exactly
right. You know, if theboss calls me or sends me a text,
you know, then you got tolisten, right, absolutely, I

(01:04):
just got a text from the boss. By the way, one word dude,
Well, good thing you didn't sayanything. You would have gotten you
would have gotten a different word. You would have gotten a different word than
dude. We even talked about that, like before taking the air of like
it was like, let's let's juststay away from that. Remember that conversation.
I don't. I don't remember that. You and I will admit there's

(01:26):
a lot of things that go inone air and out the other, right,
And I will totally agree to that, because more often than not,
Jackson will literally tell me something thirtyseconds before the segment starts, and about
thirty five seconds in I've already forgotten. And tell me, is it not
way worse now than it was liketen years ago? Total for me?
Yeah? For me too, oy, like way worse now than I used
to be. Wait, what's thetopic I have? Knowing exactly something we're

(01:48):
not supposed to talk? All right? How about those Hey, hey,
jack Jackson? Do we do wehave audio from no Stradamus Maller last week
at this uh at this time thestallion. I can I can go grab
that? I mean all right?First of all, they played the Reds
and Rockies number one. Number two, we all knew they were eventually gonna

(02:09):
turn it around. Number three.Everybody was on the suck bust together,
and now they're no longer on thesuck buss. I mean, look at
the starting pitching man. This isWe talked about this after the Red Series,
or on Friday, after the firsttwo games of the first game,
whatever it was, that this ishow this team is going to win by
dominating everybody on the mound. Becausethe offense, let's face it, even

(02:29):
at their best, I think theoffenses may be above average, this will
never be an elite offense I thinkin Seattle as long as you play eighty
one games right in that stadium. So the pitching, this is how this
team is gonna do it. Youwant to make a World Series, you
want to win a championship for thefirst time in franchise history. Lauis Castillo,
George Kirby, Logan, Gilbert Emerson, Hancock, Brian wu when he

(02:53):
comes back, Bryce Miller and company, and maybe even a little bit of
Dallas Kichel sprinkled in before it's allsaid and done. This is how these
guys to do it. And likeI said to you in the update.
I don't give a damn how badthe Rockies are pitching in that stadium is
a pain in the ass for anystarting pitching in Major League Baseball. Oh
not as much when it's thirty fivedegree, correct, but it's still a

(03:13):
pain in the ass. All right. So you got Luis Castillo, George
Kirby, Emerson Hancock went down there, gave up one ear and run in
eighteen innings, three walks and twentystrikeouts. That was a magnificent performance against
that team in that ballpark. Andnow they got ten in a row.
Last ten games, they got aone point four to four ERA sixty four
k's, nine walks, a oneseventy five opponent batting average against. That

(03:36):
is sensational. And that is exactlyhow this team was built to dominate on
the mound, and they did itin the last ten games. And now
they're back to five hundred, andnow we get to play murderers Row for
two and a half weeks. Bythe way, we got sixteen walks and
ninety six strikeouts in the last tengames. I mean, you're you're talking
about a seven to one strikeout towalk ratio. Now the Rockies I think

(03:58):
I don't even think we can statehow bad a baseball team. The Rockets
are bad. They have now trailedin every game this season, twenty two
in a row. That is thelongest streak to start a season in Major
League baseball in ninety three years. My dad, God bless him, wasn't
even around. Wow, the lasttime a team dead. He's ninety two.

(04:20):
My dad was not around the lasttime a team started getting out scored
in twenty two games in a rowto start a Major league baseball They're bad,
no question. But we also talkedabout how you know their ops is
about two hundred points higher at homethat it is on the road. They
only played six games at home sofar up until this series with the Mariners.
In look, I don't want totake away from what the guys did.

(04:41):
I understand your point that Colorado isnot good. I still think anytime
you walk into that type of environment, which is an absolute launching pad,
even when it's thirty five degrees outsideand it's freaking snowing, that is a
very difficult place to pitch. Andthese guys were balls the entire series.
And now you're seeing Luis Castillo startto turn things around. I mean,
hell, outside of the game againstthe Guardians when the defense went to crap.

(05:03):
George Kirby has been unbelievable almost theentire season. Logan Gilbert's phenomenal.
I'm telling you, this is thebest starting rotation this franchise has ever had
in franchise history. We have totake advantage of this. You remember in
Rocky one, when Rocky goes intothe promoter's office and he gives him the
offer to fight Apollo. He lookssomebody. He says, you can't let

(05:26):
this opportunity pass you by. Rememberthat, yes, sitting there trying to
figure it out. We cannot letthis opportunity pass us by. Well we
cannot with the starting pitch. Well, then here's what we have to do.
We have to cease. And Iknow I'm gonna apologize upfront because I'm
gonna get after Scott's service, eventhough that they've won seven of the last
ten games and they split the gameyesterday, including winning one. Jackson,

(05:47):
find somebody who hates another person asmuch as Dick hates Scott's service. What
his hate Fred for Jared Kellnick?Oh, Kelly's gone. Now we can
just focus it on Scott. Howdo you say his name again? Kell
nick Hey? Pretty good? Nailedit, pretty good. He'll be here
next week, by the way,Yes, you will first and second,
no outs, you decide not tomove the runners over. That was with

(06:08):
cal Rawley up first and second againin the sixth inning, no outs,
you decide not to move the runnersover. This isn't a game where no
one's scoring. I mean, it'sone thing. If it's seven to six,
you're talking Sunday's game one. Yes, I mean we don't even get
to the part where Dylan Moore runsinto the dude in the outfield. If
we just do our job and moverunners over. Oh wait, I'm not

(06:30):
done yet. Because we had itin the first inning, then we had
it in the sixth inning. Let'sgo first and second, no outs in
the seventh inning and Crawford tries totake the extra base and then Julio tries
to steal second and is thrown out. I mean, we make the easy
things hard. And whenever since Scott'sservice has been the manager, we have
tried to make the easy things hard. We have tried to play for the

(06:53):
sixth run inning in a zero zerogame instead of just scoring a damn run,
which is all it would have taken. So that really really bugged me.
The other thing that guy that Ithought was bizarre was the TV call
of that Dylan Moore running into theI mean, we had Goldie sayd the
game is over, and I'm like, in what on what planet is the

(07:15):
game? Soon as he said that, I was like, what are you
talking about? The game over?He acs get Gay Smith on the air
tonight, he ran, and you'regonna ask him Dylan Moore's Dylan Moore's glove
is impeded by the I mean,it was close, obviously, but in
no way, shape or form couldyou just look at the replay and say,
well, that was clearly not interference. The game's over. So I
was flummixed by that call. Allright, So if you just tuned in

(07:40):
right now at three twelve on aMonday after Beautiful Outside, the ends are
back to five hundred, they're agame out of a half, game out
of first place. They're five andone, and you got Dick Fane ripping
the broadcasters and ripping Scott's service.Jackson. We would have thought these guys
went Owen six and these two seriesagainst the rights get it off. I
thought we're all just happy, funand celebratory, right now, did you

(08:00):
I thought that was that was inthe email I got, Yeah, do
you disagree with me? Did youwatch that play and said, oh my
god, the game's over? He'sI don't remember that call. I probably
was. Maybe I had, youknow, the lawnmower on outside, or
that there's a gun and the dogsare barking. But I mean, I'm
not saying he didn't say it.Whatever, if it bothers you, it
bothers you. There's tons of stuffthat bothers me that doesn't bother you,

(08:22):
and that's fine. I agree withyou on service that sometimes it feels like
they're winning in spite of him, right right, Yeah, it does feel
that way. Yes, do makethings a lot more difficult than they need
them to be. And look,I mean, obviously the guy's been here
for nine years. It kind offeels like him in de Poto or a
package deal in a lot of ways. But we always thought that Pete and

(08:43):
John were like that. We foundout that wasn't the case. For crying
out loud, I just wonder ifthis starting pitching is good enough to make
that stuff not matter and I thinkit is. I think I think Logan
Gilbert and Luis Castillo and George Kirbyand Bryce Miller right now is this fearsome
aforesome as the Mariners have ever hadone through four in their rotation. And

(09:03):
I've always said, and You've alwayssaid, managers in the end really don't
matter, all right. It's allabout the roster and the GM and the
rotation and in the and the lineuphe puts out there. Yes, if
you get into a close battle latein the season, you push the wrong
button, things can implode. Alot of this is based on field,
There's no question about that. ButI just think that there are times I

(09:24):
will agree with you and overall, look, overall, I think it's maybe
fifty three forty seven positive for ScottService since he's been here. There's things
about him that drive me freaking nuts. And you know that, like what
he did to cal Rawley at theat the end of last year, telling
his ketcher to calm down when hiscatcher was all pissed off the team didn't

(09:45):
make the playoffs, and he's beingtold publicly by his manager that he should
calm down and kind of control hisemotions. Well, screw that. Could
you imagine Lou Panella ever telling DanWilson or anybody else on that team who's
pissed off they missed the playoffs tocontrols emotions. He would never say something
like that. So there are thingsabout him that make me crazy. But
I also do think the coaching thatthey've done with this rotation, what they've

(10:09):
done with guys like Julio Rodriguez, and there's a lot more there with Ty
Franz and people like that. Ithink overall it's been a positive, but
sooner or later that's gonna run out. It's time for these guys to win.
There's no excuse now. Yes,no more fifty four percent, no
more three years from now. Nowith this rotation. And I remember saying
this after the Seahawks beat Atlanta intwenty twelve, Dick and everybody came back

(10:31):
the next year. When you bringeverybody back, you win a title.
This team needs to win a WorldSeries right now with this rotation right now.
Well, there's another thing that Igotta get to. Okay, you've
got at least eighteen innings to playon Sunday. Is there a physical reason
why you're taking your starting pitcher outafter five innings, throwing five shutout innings

(10:52):
and eighty eight pitches. He's well, he said, didn't say didn't feel
right. I thought, is thattrue? Yes, That's why I asked
the question. Kirby said after thegame he wasn't feeling right and they took
him out of the game, outbefore hid. Well, I don't know
if it was him pulling himself outor him saying before the game and the
and the and the and the andand the coaches got ahold of him.
But yeah, I mean he didthat last year when he said he shouldn't
have even been out there in thegame. But yeah, he did say

(11:15):
after the game that he didn't feelright in pregame warm ups all that Scots
from the Scott Service record. Yeah, that was kind of a concern.
I mean, when you're when yournumber, maybe your your your your big
prize as far as your young dominantstarting pitching, and George Kirby he ended
up being the best of all ofthem when it's all said and done.
Who knows right when he says hedidn't feel right, then I got no
problem. The question really is whywas he out there in the first place?

(11:35):
If he told the team he didn'tfeel right, Why was he starting
at all? Yeah, I'd liketo know when that came down. When
did he find out? When didhe tell people he wasn't feeling good?
But I just think again, thestarting pitching the last ten games, this
series against the Reds, the seriesagainst Colorado, unbelievable, phenomenal starting pitching.
They've got to ride this wave. And I just I just hope,

(11:56):
guys, that we're not sitting herein late September or hell even in October
and they're playing in the divisional seriesor the league championship series and they can't
score a damn run. They gotthe starting pitching they got Sunday in Game
one and they lost. They look, this should have been a sweep.
This should have been a sweep ofyou get that kind of starting pitching,
and you've got to sweep for God'ssake. So I really hope we're not

(12:18):
sitting here late in the year kickingourselves yet again for not going out and
fighting enough offense to supplement this startingsque Well, unfortunately, we've got a
three game series starting tomorrow in Texasthat Mariner fans are going to put far
too much weight on, particularly ifit doesn't go our way. Well,
have you've seen their schedule the nexttwo and a half weeks. It's brutal,

(12:39):
it's not good. But let's juststart with this one, right,
presumptive Al West champions, the TexasRangers. Right, if you go out
there and win one of two,one of three or zero of three,
what is everybody saying, Oh,good job, you beat colorad of in
Cincinnati. Nice work. Now youplay Texas and you show, you show
everybody how much worse than the TexasRangers you are? Now? Is that

(13:00):
the truth? Of course not.If they go one and two over the
next three games, does that provethe Texas Rangers are better? Of of
course it doesn't know, but thatis going to be the narrative. You
know, well, I think again, if you can go five hundred in
these next sixteen games, you gotthree games in Texas, four or three
with Arizona, three with Atlanta, three at Houston. At some point in
time, the Astros I guarantee youare going to start playing better baseball because

(13:24):
they're a better baseball team than whatthey've shown. And then four games at
Minnesota. All right, that isa pain in the ass for two weeks
if you could, if you cango a game or two under even five
hundred during that stretch. Guys,we can't sit here and say the road
to ninety five includes five hundred orbetter against the great teams, the good

(13:45):
teams, and then beating the crapout of the bad teams, and then
be pissed off when they go fivehundred against the good teams. That's just
what they might do in these nextwhatever fourteen. We don't tell what Minnesota
Arizona are yet, we don't,we don't, but they're both playoff teams
last year. We know that Atlanta'sgood, We know that Texas correct good.
We think that Houston is good, right, so, but we know
Arizona and Minnesota last year were inthe postseas. So these are not horrible

(14:07):
baseball teams they're playing. And toyour point, by the way, about
the Texas series, and I generallyagree with you, they go one and
two whatever, Okay, fine, but what do those games look like if
they go to Texas on Tuesday andthey get pounded for three games in a
row and they're totally out of that. They're making metal mistakes, they're pitching
gets beat to death by the rangeof offense. I think that there is

(14:28):
a little bit of a measuring stickhere that Jerry Depoto and Scott's Service can
use early on to kind of geta feel for how good they are.
Look, they go one and twoand all three games are hard fought,
and they're laden in games, andthe Rangers just find a way to come
back and win. Okay, whatever, that's baseball. But I remember there
was a series. I'm trying tolook it up. I know the Astro
Series. There was a Texas serieslast year in early June. There was

(14:48):
an Astro series a couple of yearsago where they did the same thing.
That's right. They just got hammered. And they went to Texas June second,
third, and fourth. They hadjust kind of climbed out of the
hole, all right. They weretwenty one and twenty three. Then they
got above five hundred. But thenthey went to New York. They went
to Texas and they lost too nothing, sixteen to six and twelve to three.

(15:09):
And we got back that next Monday, June fifth, and it was
open season on the Seattle Miners. The narrative was this team is fried.
Now. I guess those critics ina way were right, because had they
gone to and one in that seriesinstead of owing three, they would have
won the damn Division. So Iguess in a way the critics that said

(15:31):
this team isn't gonna make the playoffsahead of Texas were right. But that's
what happened in June, and peoplewere writing their obituary when they were twenty
nine and thirty getting swept by Texas. I remember a series, and I
think it was in two thousand andseven. I'm not completely certain. The
only thing I remember is talking aboutit. We were doing a show at
the old Northwest College for Seahawk Campor something was going on. I'm not

(15:54):
sure. It was kind of latein the year and the Mariners were a
couple of games out behind the LaAngels. Yeah, this is the series
right here. It was. Itwas laid on and so training camp was
going on doing the show because Iremember talking about this on the air,
and they had pulled within like twoor three games of the Angels. Whatever
it was. This may not bethe exact year, by the way,

(16:15):
but there was a series against theAngels where the Mariners were a couple of
games out and they played the Angels, and they just got clobbered by LA
And they told the Mariners, wedon't care how close you are, you
will never ever overtake us in thisdivision. So I think this is a
little bit of a measuring stick. It's not everything, obviously, but all
the moves the Mariners made over theoffseason were made to beat teams like this

(16:37):
and to overtake teams like that.God, I'm looking at that season.
You said that's two thousand and seven. I think it was two thousand and
seven. How Seattle Mariners? Isit that that team was seventy three and
fifty three and find a way toloot miss out on the playoffs? Yeah?
Yeah, they won. They woneighty eight games. They were twenty
games over five hundred. Now,the series in twenty twenty two, I
think you're talking about at Boston midMay lost twelve to cents, lost seven

(17:00):
to three, lost six to five, loss eight to four, drops into
seventeen and twenty five. Now everybodywho's burying him after that as well,
But they came back and made theplayoffs. That This is exactly the series
I'm talking Abou's funny because the firstgame the Mariners were three games out in
the win column behind LA and theAngels outscored them twenty four to eight and

(17:23):
kick their ass three games in arow. And so we don't care how
close you are, you will neverwin this division. And they were right.
So look, I think this isa nice little measuring stick for these
guys starting tomorrow against Texas. Allright, we gotta get to a break.
We got news on the UDUB frontfrom the Transfer Portal perspective. The
draft is on Thursday. Thank godwe made it. Michael Pennix has written

(17:45):
a letter to all gms out there. We should chat about that a lot
more to get to. From theemeral Quick Casino, John Wilner will join
us at four. Special day forhim. We're bumping everything up because of
the draft on Thursday. Steven Suezat five from the Emeral Queen Casino Sportsbook.
Right here on ninety three three KJRFF, Welcome NFL drafts Now back to
Southian on your home for the twentytwenty four NFL Draft and cmle's best NFL

(18:10):
Draft cover Seattle Seahawks neptow the SportsRadio ninety three point three kjr FM.
All right, don't forget the annualMather Miller mock draft. You claims this
is the twenty sixth year that we'vedone this. Wow, which means the
twenty fifth anniversary came and went withno fanfare whatsoever. That's just terrible.
Wow. Come let me come ontyfive point one thing that we do a

(18:34):
very very poor job of at thisradio station. I've said this publicly many
many times, is saving audio. We need to go back and hear audio
from the very first mock draft twentysix years ago. Right, How great
would that be? I was incharge, and by the way, I'm
not blaming anybody but myself for thattoo. I've done a piss poor job
of saving audio over the years. It's terrible. I've got I was in

(18:56):
charge from about two thousand to twothousand and seven or eight of saving all
the pertinent r audio on CDs righton mini discs mini disc yep. How
do we have a way to playany of those? Or was my eight
years of work? Absolutely? Imean we should be able to hook a
CD player up to the board inthe studio. Are you kidding me?
We're a radio station. We cando anything for crying out loud, But

(19:18):
that bothers me that we don't haveall that audio from all those years,
but twenty six years in a row. We're doing this Action Sports Bar and
Grill in Kent on Wednesday, andthe draft from the vMac on Thursday and
Friday tomorrow. By the way,we're gonna be at Husky football practice.
The spring game is a week fromFriday. Two weeks left in spring ball,
and then we'll see you in Augustwhen fall camp starts. And so

(19:41):
I have a question for you guys, right, okay. Hugh Millen came
on this radio show about two weeksago and said, the situation with the
interior of the Seahawks offensive line isin crisis. Remember that when he was
on the air with us. Ifthat's the situation with the Seahawks, what's
the situation with the Washington offensive line? That one word incomplete? Okay,

(20:03):
it is incomplete. Jed Fish spokeabout it. He said, we do
not have a problem with getting guysto come here. We have a problem
with actually sifting out and figuring outwhich guys we want to give scholarships to
over the next three weeks. Right, well, okay, so how much
time is left? Not much inthe portal to get these guys over here.

(20:25):
Does the portal close in like aweek and a half from now?
Is that correct? It was atwo week window. I thought it was
longer than that, wasn't it.Let's see whatever it is, it's not
that long. It's not open untilAugust. We know that it's gonna close
at some point. And I justwonder, guys, how much damage the
Huskies can do with their offensive linebefore this thing is all said and done,
and then get these guys on campusand coach them up enough in time

(20:47):
for the opener to have a decentoffensive line. I would not be stunned
at all if Washington has real struggleswith their offensive line this year. How
can anybody be surprised by it?Noh, you can. You can't be
surprised by that. It's gonna it'sgonna take a while. But I mean,
I don't think Washington's gonna have nearlyas much trouble filling it as most
teams do, because I think there'smoney to be invested in offensive lineman.

(21:10):
You're not paying any of them rightnow, and I think there's anil dollars
for some offensive lineman, and youdon't have to pay him five hundred million
dollars like you do quarterbacks and widereceivers. So I'm not panicked. Now.
If we get to the end ofthe transfer portal and we've picked up
two guys and they're from Podunk Stateand a backup from SMU, right then
I'm gonna be nervous. But untilthat point, I'm not gonna be wordering.

(21:33):
Well, what is what is PortlandState? Is Portland State Podunk State?
Because right now that's what you have. And a guy who's barely played
for four years in Oregon, inMiami in this what's his name, Logan
Sagapolu who committed to play football todayfor U DUB And then is it t
t Ali's how you say his lastname? The kid from Eastside Catholic that
went to Portland State and now wascoming to you DUBB. So look they

(21:55):
got the as a party kid Iknow from San Diego State. You're talking
about a bunch of guys that we'resupposed to be backups that are now starting
players for this football team, rightlike Garden, Memolar and Land and Hatchet.
When those guys are healthy, they'relikely starters. But they were supposed
to be sitting behind Brilsford below andNate Caleppo, and now they're starting caliber
players. So I just think it'sI don't know what to expect out of

(22:18):
them. I'm trying to remain aspositive as possible, because, like you
said, Dick, we don't knowyet what this group looks like. So
let's wait until fall camp and seewhat it looks like. But how can
they possibly find an offensive line inthe next four and a half months that
resembles anything remotely decent If they're justpicking from whatever scraps are available in the

(22:41):
rest of college football, Well,I don't know. It is the transfer
portal really scraps though. I meanthere're thousands of guys in there, and
a lot of them are scraps.A lot of them scraps, Yes,
but you're gonna hopefully hand pick you. You are as desperate. I will
say this, You're as desperate asany top twenty five caliber program. Extremely
desperate. I'm soly with you. It's a great work. So if you

(23:03):
are that desperate, you will bewilling to pay for those guys, and
you will be able to separate thewhek from the chaff and not get the
scraps and actually be able to getsome blue chip guys to come in.
Well, this guy that this Sagapoulu kid they got apparently is gonna switch
over to nose tackle and play defensiveline. So I don't even know if
he's an offensive lineman. I'm noteven sure if this guy from EASTSI Kathick
ends up starting for them. Ithink you're looking for starting offensive lineman still

(23:26):
today. That's what Jedfish told usa month ago on the show. And
I don't think anything has really changed. And I wonder how much that will
influence, honestly, Dick and Jacksonwhat they do at quarterback this year,
because Will Rogers is not a realmobile guy. Williams is more than mobile
guy the freshman, but he's afreshman. And by the way, on
top of that, Will Rogers gotpaid a lot of money to stay at
Washington after Caitlyn de Boord took offto go to Alabama. You got three

(23:48):
quarters of a million bucks to stayhere and play for you to So we're
gonna find out real quick how muchNil influences what coaches do when it comes
to playing time. We're gonna findthat out. And I have no idea
what de Mon Williams got. Bythe way, you didn't get nothing redneg
On Arizona. That's you got twoquarterbacks making money. Now, you're right.
Transferportal window it closes April thirtieth,so that's next Tuesday, and there's

(24:12):
gonna be some movement after that, but you gotta get your name in by
then. So yeah, I mean, there's not a there's a finite amount
of time that they have to getthis thing done, and maybe by the
end of next week there's gonna bethis mad dash of players committing everywhere,
players showing up at you. WhatI thought was the plan, and sometimes

(24:33):
the plan doesn't come together, ButI thought the plan was, Hey,
let's push back the spring game aslong as we can to the first week
of May so we can get guysin here that can take part in spring
ball. And that's not really beenthe case. No, it's not.
I for some reason, I thinkit's gonna be similar to the summer recruiting
where we're like, wait a second, all Oregon's got the fourteenth best class

(24:57):
in America and we are not signedanybody, and then all of a sudden,
what did kayln de bore do twoyears in a row. He just
brought in a bucket load of fishin the last minute. So now you
need Fish to bring home a bucketload of offensive line fish in the last
minute, just like Kaitlin de Mooredid two years in a row. Yeah,
now for sure. I mean again, there's time to pull this off.
And I have no idea what theyhave in the coffers, as far

(25:18):
as money, how much they haveto offer, what they have in the
works, as far as relationships withthese guys. It's totally open season when
it comes to nil, meaning theidea that Hey, Jetfish and Brendan Carroll
would sit around and say, youknow what, here's this guy from Oklahoma.
He's a really good player. We'rehearing he's disgruntled with his NIL deal.
Let's call him right or call hisagent. Now. I don't know

(25:41):
how much of that's actually happening.I think there are still some tampering rules
you have to follow when it comesto nil, but it feels like nobody's
following any rules whatsoever in college football. So until you get a hand slapped
or until somebody tells you no,I would tell Jetfish, Hey, call
everybody. It seems to me likeevery offensive lineman in America should be available

(26:03):
at one hundred percent everybody. Soyes, And so I'm getting a little
bit concerned about the state of thisthing when we are sitting here on the
twenty second of April and there isliterally a week and a half left to
go before spring football is over. And I text a buddy of mine and
ask him what the starting offensive lineis gonna look like and he writes back,
no effing idea. And we gota week and a half left in

(26:23):
spring, and I'm assuming this isn'tjust one of your buddies in the golf
club. Uh yeah, well youknow a guy that works at the seven
eleven down the street. That's theguy I call it, Jackson. What
do you think? Are you concernedabout this? See this? The thing
is? It sort of goes tothe Mariners about a week ago. Right,
I think you can say, yes, it's incomplete, Yes, you
know, just what's way two weeksfrom now then we'll have foreign opinion.

(26:45):
But for me, I'm freaking outright now, just like I was freaking
out for the Mariners a week ago. And that's totally fine, because opinions
can change and It's fine to changeopinions. Right now. I have massive
concerns about the offensive line, justlike a week ago I had massive concerns
about the Mariners. That may change. I very much hope a change a
week from now, no doubt,no doubt. I mean, look,
I'll just take a step back,right, I'll come off the ledge a

(27:08):
little bit right, and there's acouple of rocks starting to kind of fall
over the side of the cliff.I'll pull back a little bit. But
I can see the cliff. Ican see it. I can see the
edge of the cliff, and Ican see myself flipping out if this thing
does not get fixed between now andAugust. And who knows, maybe Landon,
Hatchett and Garden, Memolar and Drewas a party and this Zach Henning
kid. Maybe they're better than Ithink, right, Maybe they're all set

(27:32):
to play right away. Maybe theyhad you know, one A and one
B when it comes to their depthfrom a year ago, and these guys
will be better than I think. But the idea of starting five new offensive
linemen, I don't care how goodthey are and not having any chemistry whatsoever.
Thank God, their schedule is backloadedby the way in the Big ten
and not front exactly, which iswhich is what we needed a couple of

(27:53):
years ago as well to get MichaelPENNOCKX. You know, kind of acclimated
to to the new offense. Everytime you say Drew as a party,
are we invited to this? Okay? Good? I mean everybody, every
time you say that, Jackson,I got a question for you. I
Drew as a part? Okay, gotcha, Jackson? Is it? I

(28:14):
mean, so you're you're saying it'sokay to just flip out about anything just
as long as well I can changemy my next week when new information,
as long as you're not flipping outby making drastic declarations or drastic remarks like
fire. If you were saying lastweek, last Monday, fire everybody,
you'll get rid of the get ridof Hounter, et cetera. Fire fish

(28:36):
right now exactly. If you're makingthose declarations, that's that's ridiculous. But
I think it's completely fair right nowto say I have big concerns about the
Husky's offensive line, and then aweek from now, if they bring in
guys say the Husky's offensive line isfine, Well, I think, well,
okay, but here's my take onit. I think you're I think
you should have concerns anyway, becauseyou're talking about five new starters. Yeah,

(28:59):
Dick, when was the last timeWashington started a year with five new
starters on the offensive line. I'mnot saying it's never happened, but I
can't remember. Okay, five guysteam for forty plus writers, and there's
no group that needs chemistry and camaraderiemore than an offensive line. And the
fact that you're gonna put five dudesout there and say have at it in

(29:21):
the opener, I think there's causefor concern for that. Now, if
you go out and get you know, five to five star dudes and you're
paying them five million bucks each tobe here, yeah, of course I'll
feel better about that. That's notgonna happen there. You're gonna be talking
about guys like the kid from PortlandState and like the kid from Miami that
for whatever reason, have some wartzand might be available. All right,
we're gonna break a little fun withaudio coming up. John Wilner will join

(29:44):
us at four o'clock today right hereon ninety three three KJRFM. It's now
time for sfty in Dick's Fun withAudio, Jimmy g pawn Star, Jimmy
mister garoppolo. Now let's have somefun with audio, all right. John
wilnero US next segment normally on Tuesdays, but we're shiffling things around with the
draft on Thursday, the mock drafton Wednesdays. So John today a four

(30:07):
o'clock. Stephen Souza will join usat five. It's time now though for
the segment everybody has been waiting forFun with Audio slash Hay, did you
hear that? Hey, Dick?Did you what's that? Dick? We
start with our friend Aaron Boone, brother of Brett, who does a segment
with us by the way every week. Courtesy at VENA Kings dot com.
The manager of the Yankees. Duringtoday's Yankee A's game, was ejected for

(30:33):
arguing with umpire hunter Wendel Stett. The problem is Aaron Boone did not say
anything to him, as we canhear from the on field audio and yes
network broadcast, you're not yelling atme. I did what I has to
do it check, I'm looking fromme, get hit behind the pit?
You got anything else to say? You're gone? Okay, okay, Hunter,

(30:53):
Wow. You know we're not gonnaneed a John point breakdown of that
one. We got a very clearthere you go. And I didn't say
anything, Aaron saying, hold ona second, I didn't say a word.
I did word wow. So good. So here's the thing, and

(31:21):
correct me if I'm wrong. HunterWendelstett was responding to heckling from a fan
and thought it was Aaron. Hewas responding. He and Aaron Boone were
getting into it, and then hesaid, you say another word, You're
gone, right, and the fanjack on it right right behind the dugout
right and Hunter just said you're out, You're out, Aaron. I mean,
dude, come on, man, really, Empire's a hair trigger man.

(31:42):
That's just a part of the natureof the beasts. I'm telling you.
These guys are going scorts to Earth. They know they're about to be
replaced by robots, and they're burningthe whole place down on the way out.
When you when Jackson has kids, your son or daughter, Jackson will
not know a world with human behindhome plates. It's gonna happen, well,
at least not calling balls a strike. I mean, you need somebody

(32:05):
behind the home plate for plays atthe plate right, Well, not really,
not really. There's used the eyeand the skys ways to get over
that too. What the hell havea have a guy sitting in a comfortable
office in New York City making thecall from a satellite dish a thousand miles
up in the air. Honestly,I mean, this is just becoming ridiculous.
Man. Ever since they started toimplement the idea of robotic umpires and

(32:28):
the minor leagues and the tracer allthat stuff, the the umpire performances feel
like they've been getting worse and worseevery single week. Yeah, no,
they have. And an angel Hernandezis on a different level. You talk
about a thousand miles up, SebeBuckner, all those but absolutely horrible.
But yeah, I've been a Raindeersgames with the with the robo ups.
It's fine. I can't wait. We're doing some shows down there this year.

(32:50):
I cannot wait to see it.All Right, Dick, did you
happen to hear that? What's that? Dick? How about we get to
Saturday's Yankee game. Recently retired broadcasterJohn Sterling joining Michael Kay on the network
and explained his abrupt retirement from announcinglast week. Do you think there's gonna
be a TV in July? BecauseI know you'll watch the games, John,
absolutely that you'll say, gee,I wish I was there to make
that call. No, sure,I'm exhausted. You know the mel Sonomar

(33:16):
would say to the pitcher and hislast inning, empty the tank, Well,
my tank is emptied. When youleft the booth that day after that,
what was then your final game?Did you know at that point I'm
not doing this again. I wasthinking about it. I knew I didn't
want to travel. And but youknow one thing, Michael, you know

(33:37):
of Chris is such a good guy. He would offer me just the home
games, right, but you knowthere are days I don't want to get
up and get dressed and look beautifuland go to the ballpark. You do
look beautiful, John, Amen, brother. Oh god. It does seem
odd though, and Michael Ka evensaid this, it does seem odd that
he retires two weeks into the season. Well, I mean, like,

(34:00):
if you want to retire, thenjust say you're not coming back. But
he probably thought he could do itand then two weeks in said no,
you know what, this ain't happening. I mean, there's been a lot
of guys that have thought they coulddo something and then within a week or
so, two weeks, a monthwhatever, they think differently. And plus
if he retires over the offseason,he's not getting all this freaking compliments and
all this conversation. Right, doyou see what the Yankee players bought him?

(34:22):
By the way, they gave hima TV. How weird is that
they give him a five thousand dollarsTV. The Yankees are worth like a
gazillion dollars, buy am a houseor something for god by, I'm a
plane thing as a five thousand dollarsTV, the CS or such a thing
as ten thousand costco. Oh god, Dick, come on man, yeah,

(34:44):
Dick. Did you happen to hearthat day? What's that? John
Tay Porter, brother of Michael PorterJunior, last week received a lifetime ban
by NBA commissioner Adam silver Fire forviolating the league's gambling rules. On Friday
night, New Orleans Pelicans forward NanceJunior then talked about their upcoming series against
the Thunder respectfully. I'm I'm justI'm betting on the pills. I'm not

(35:09):
betting, No Johnson. I'm nota betting I'm not betting on anything.
I don't own a betting app, none of that. Wow, you know,
it's really funny when that thing camedown, and it really does show

(35:30):
you, honestly, guys, howstupid some people are. Well, the
NBA promotes gambling. Okay, yeah, so what players can't do it?
How hard is it? It's notthat hard. The league can promote gambling
so fans can watch and engage inanother kind of way, but the players
are not allowed to bet on basketball. If you can't figure that out,

(35:51):
then you can't even walk and chewgum. Honestly, people were calling the
NBA hypocritical for suspending John day Porterwhen they promote gambling. Yeah, that's
fine. That's for the fans. You dipstick. Well, and if anybody
thinks it's unfair for unfair for theplayers, do you know how much more
the players make in because you're allowedto bet on the NBA? No,

(36:12):
it's unreal. I mean, ifyou can't figure that out and you're that
dumb, then you deserve to getwhatever's coming to you. And look,
do I feel a little bad forJohntay? A little bad for Mike a
little bit. I feel bad forthe Porter family. What they went through
last week was insane, with theirother son getting going to jail for six
years for duy. Unbelievable man.All Right, we're gonna break. John
Wilner's gonna join us. We're atthe Emerald Queen Casino. We'll talk to

(36:35):
John next on ninety three three kJRFM
