Tony Casher Co will join us atthree twenty eight. He is literally right
there across from us, getting readyfor the broadcast of the pregame show at
six pm. Cam Cleveland's gonna swingby as well at five point forty five
tonight. Remind me, by theway to ask Cam about how Royce is
doing. You guys, hear aboutthat? Yeah, Jackson, you know
about that. Royce Cleveland, hisson, who is a preferred walk on
offensive lineman here, was in ascooter accident about two weeks ago and smashed

(00:26):
up his entire face, had platesin his head, the whole thing.
So he's he's hoping to come backand be ready for fall camp in August.
But we're pulling for Royce and hopehe's here tonight. I think he
is gonna be here tonight, bythe way, supporting his teammates. So
Camp will joined us at five fortyfive. The word is that Jake Locker,
Shaq Thompson, and Mark Bruner areswinging by the radio show coming up
here about four o'clock this afternoon.Hugh Millan would join us too, but

(00:50):
you know we're on the text threadtoday getting ready for the radio show and
I told Jackson that Bruner's coming on. Be honest, did you think it
was Carson Brunner that was coming onthe show today? For a moment,
I thought you guys were able toget him before the spring game. So
yeah, which makes sense exactly. He's a captain returning guy or whatever.
But here's the thing, man,you now kind of have to distinguish because
Mark Brunner played here thirty three yearsago. For you do I mean,

(01:12):
it's just stupid, like there's studentsgraduating Washington this year who have no idea
who the hell that guy is.We said yesterday Byron Murphy was eleven when
Russell Wilson made his NFL debut,Right, we have to now remind people
who these people are because we're oldand they're young. Old Mark Bruner was
one year ahead of me at theUB. Yeah, that's all. That's
difference. He was a freshman whenI was a senior in high school,

(01:34):
and I was one year ahead ofyou. So I think he walks around.
I was a year ahead of theabsolutely, yeah, there's no question
about it. No, So Isaw three years of him playing the UB
right here in this stadium as astudent. Well, It's funny that everybody
talking about tonight's game, the springgame, and look, I mean,
I don't even know if it's goingto be a game or not. They're
gonna have four quarters of football. We'll see how much scrimmage action they really
have. But I'm kind of likeeverybody else, I'm just looking forward to

(01:57):
seeing, kind of curious how manypeople show up for this thing. And
this is kind of the fright thing, isn't it. Really? I mean,
yeah, seeing Coleman and Price Sockand those guys for the first time.
I mean, Chris Adams, thekid from Old Dominion, I don't
think he's here yet, so he'llbe on the fall camp roster in August.
But outside of that, yeah,I mean, I think for me,
the number one thing is how firedup are people for Husky football?
Because you're the one that's been sayingthat. You think that people are still

(02:20):
fired up. Maybe not as firedup as they were the morning of the
National Championship game, but they're stillmore fired up than they've been since nineteen
ninety one. I think that's right. I mean, and whenever the nineties,
I hope you're right. Whenever theninety one, the ninety one run
probably really ended with the Billy JoeHolbert thing, right, and that's when
it just kind of fell out eightto no in ninety two when the whole
thing went to hell in a handexactly. And by the way, if

(02:43):
Reggie Bush can get his heisman back, we can get Billy Joe back.
That's fair and the white Camaro tofinish up his eligibility, bring him back
off. I think that carstile around. I do. I also think Billy
Joe is so big he could playoffensive tackle. Is huge, huge.
Have you seen him like that?It looks like me nine years ago.
He can play offensive line. Andby the way, he will bust his
own balls about that. If youtalk to so, he's got a couple

(03:06):
of years left, bring his assback and let him play left beat great,
that'd be great. I've chatted acouple of times online with him on
the X machine that I haven't seenhim in a long long time. Very
very cool, and I think hisI think his reputation is totally fine here
now at the University of Washington. It should be versus what it was for
you know, the first five tenyears after that whole thing, well,
happen. It should have been fineanyway. I mean, guys, he

(03:28):
was the starting quarterback for the NationalChampionship team in nineteen ninety one. And
what he did, he went outand got a loan. He was gonna
pay it back based on his incomeas a professional. N CBLA was so
archaic back then. They suspended theguy, and then eventually he was ruled
in eligible and the whole thing wentto you know, as we said,
hell on a handbucket, man, they were eight to zerine got beat was
a sixteen to three. Yeah, the score of that game in ninety two

(03:49):
down there in Tucson, George Maluluin company Desert Swarm. But I mean,
his reputation should be fine anyway. Is his name not on the facade
here with all the players out there? Imagine I think it's out there.
I don't think he's ever been aHusky legend. By the way, if
that hasn't happened, that's got tochange that. I think it's gotta change.
Can I ask for one thing notto happen here? Though? Is

(04:09):
the guy or test I know you'regoing with that. Sorry, that's up
there. The guy or the galthat takes the picture twenty minutes before the
game starts and says, well, look at this crowd. This is terrible.
What was the game last year thatyou were like, come on,
the guy took a picture like ahalf hour before the game started exactly.

(04:30):
Somebody picked it up. Some guythat works in tuscle Loosa picked it up
and says, so this is whykiln Debor went to Alabama because look at
this crowd and look at their crowd. Now, I'm not saying that Washington
would have the same kind of crowdAlabama had. That's ridiculous, but it
was a better crowd than what thatguy put on social media last year.
So yeah, that drove me nute. This is the kind of stuff that
pisses me off. So let's waitif your photos on Twitter, if you
gotta take a picture on Twitter, let's wait kick off as at six thirty,

(04:53):
right, yeah, correct, Solet's at least wait till seven seven
point fifteen because there's gonna be stragged. There's gonna be people that are stuck
in traffic. So let's wait atleast a half hour forty five minutes before
you take a attendance photo of thestadium. All right, Well, so
that's rule number one, no photosuntil after kickoff here at the stadium.
Rule number two is nobody get hurt. And rule number three is do not

(05:15):
put any stock in anything you seewith the offensive line tonight. I mean
they may be lining up kickers atguard in this game. What did Jed
say they got? They got ninelinemen right now, nine nine scholarship linemen
available. I mean, it's crazyand it's gonna change dramatically. I mean,
I would bet that there's of theoffensive line that you see tonight,
and we should write down who thestarting five guys are that come out with

(05:35):
the number one unit this evening withWill Rogers, who will be the number
one guy? I'm not saying he'llstart, I mean, demon Williams.
Everything I hear is the guy's pushinghim big time. But write down who
the number who the five guys arewith the number one offensive line, and
then you tell me how many ofthose dudes are starting in the opener in
September. Maybe only I think it'sgonna be two two guys. Well,

(05:58):
well, there's also guys that arehurt, right, couple of guys banged
up, like Landon Hatchett. Buti think there's gonna be two guys from
that group tonight, and it mighteven be one that'll start for this team
in September. It was crazy. We now live in a world where a
college football team's roster in May canchange dramatically by August, and that's wild
to me. And how long canwe go where we still see guys trickings

(06:20):
because the portals closed, you can'tput your name in the portal, But
how how much? How much longercan we actually grab? The portal closed
on Tuesday and you had to haveyour name in the portal by Tuesday at
six fifty five Eastern time? Didit look like the Avengers one where it
just like it closes, like youknow, doctor Strange and it just kind

(06:41):
of sins. That's exactly what itlooks like, like a like a black
hole. So they jump in theportal Tuesday, and I think the word
is that it could take a coupleof weeks to get like paperwork processed and
all that stuff. So we Ithink we could see players coming and going
as late as maybe the end ofMay, third worth week of May,
So there's at least a couple weeksleft where you could see some traction and

(07:04):
some transactions. But hey, lookthis guy they got from Old Dominion.
I mean, he looks the partright six six, three hundred pounds.
He looks like he's a dude.He started thirteen games that left and right
tackle a year ago for Old Dominion. But who'd he play against? Right?
The kid from Portland State? Who'dhe play against? For God's sake.
So I'm fired up for Jade andWayne to come home from Miami.
I'm fired up for the guys theygot from Arizona. I'm really fired up

(07:26):
for the kid from cal A Hunter, the transfer wide receiver, because him
and Denzel Boston, this wide receivercrew is never gonna look like it did
a year ago, at least notfor a while. But those two guys
can at least maybe make you lookdecent. I think at wide receiver nextually,
absolutely, the running backs, thewide receivers, really, the quarterbacks,
no issues right there, all theskill positions on offense. I think
you are very very ready to goin and play Big ten football, because

(07:50):
it's not like Big ten football isa wash with skill talent. Right outside
of Ohio State and sometimes Michigan, sometimes Penn State, there's not a lot
of skill talent. Now when yougo into Big ten, the first thing
you think of, though, isI need linemen. I need offensive linemen
and defensive linemen. So getting pushedaround on the lion of scrimmage obviously is
your number one concern. But youknow the linebacker corps, the secondary.

(08:15):
I'm not worried about the back sevenon the football team. Okay, so
we got this going on tonight. We got the Mariners and the Astros coming
up at five pm. Did youput a poll out, by the way
on Twitter asking people how many gamesthe ms were winning the series. I
voted for that bad boy, bythe way, and I voted for a
sweep. Just for shiggles and gets, I voted for a sweep. I
wanted to see if I was thefirst guy to vote for a sweep,

(08:37):
and I was not. Somebody elsebeat me to it. So look,
you're gonna have an advantage in someof these games pitching wise. I do
think though, that the Astros lookat this series like they would look at
a series in late July or earlyAugust. That they know that this is
the team in front of them andthey want to show off a little bit.
They want to show that that horriblestart they had is not really who

(08:58):
that baseball team is. So Ithink you'll see a lot of buzz at
that stadium tonight. As a matter, we have since we have a shift
in the optimism level of Mariner Nation, because usually when you put out a
Mariner pol it is decidedly negative. The Mariners this weekend go what in Houston
three and oh fifteen percent, twoand one fifty eight percent, So seventy

(09:24):
three percent of respondents think we willwin the series against the Astros one and
two twenty percent and the seven percentnegative Nelly say we are going to get
swept. So seventy three to twentyseven percent think we're gonna come away with
a series win. I like it. Well, let's just see the guys
that we talked about yesterday starting topick it up. Or let's start to
see Polanka, let's start to seeGarver, Let's start to see j.

(09:46):
Well, JP's not playing ty friends. Okay, So Mitch Garver's ops this
year is two hundred and fifty sevenpoints below is average. So that's not
good enough. Hore Polaco right nowis one hundred and sixty two points below
is average. That's not good enough. Julio Rodriguez is about two hundred points
below is average. That's not goodenough. And Ty Frantz is about one

(10:07):
hundred points below his OPS average. So that's the thing, man, You're
going to a place where you canhit. It's a good pitching staff.
I get that. Today today's game, I'd take the under for sure if
you're a betting man, which Iam not, but I would offer that
advice for you. I just thinkthat's that's what this is all about.
Man. You know, these guyshave got to start getting off their butt
because these games the Mariners are winning. Number one, a lot of them

(10:28):
shouldn't even be as close as theyare because the pitching staff has been so
freaking phenomenal. And then number two, it's time now on the third of
May, you took a month off, It's time for the offense to start
doing their Yeah, no question.I'm looking at the splits for Mitch Garvern
at mid of made Park. Heonly hits two twenty there, but a
seven to twenty four ops is Iwould sign up for a seven to twenty
four ops from Mitch Garver right now. The way he's the way he's hitting

(10:52):
the ball. And you know,I took a look. I sent a
tweet out on how he made atweet. I made a tweet on the
hitters and the pitchers with two strikesthis year, and how dominant the pitching
staff has been when they get ahead, and how horrendous the hitting is when
they when they get behind Mariner pitchers, when they get two strikes on their

(11:13):
opponents, the hitters are hitting onesixty seven off them with a four to
sixty OPS. But when the Marinerhitters get two strikes on him, you
might as well turn the channel oneseventy six with a three to ninety five
OPS. When a Mariner hitter getstwo strikes on him thus far this year.
So you're saying that's not good, not good. But they don't come
from behind. They don't come frombehind in the count. There is no

(11:35):
question about that. I'm looking atRenel Blanco and nobody has really seen him
before. Julio zoo for five orone for five lifetime against him, and
Ty France is OH for three,But nobody on this baseball team has really
seen what Blanco can do. Andagain, I think that this is where
you really just kind of got toput the squeeze on these guys. What
are they six and a half gamesout right now? The Astros are,
They're six and a half games outof first place. I mean, just

(11:58):
imagine going into Houston's weep in thesebastards and they wake up nine games out
on Monday morning. I mean, guys, you can almost end them right
now with this series in Houston. They should have. I want to kill
their attitude going down there to Houstonthis weekend. Man, kick him right
in the head, end them ninegames out Monday morning, Dick. If

(12:18):
you sweep, it would be thefirst nail in the coffin. And the
Mariners had never been here, man, I am, because you know,
the Mariners would have never started inthis run here of the last three years,
they would have never started that bad. They've started poorly before, but
they've always been I think nine gamesunder five hundred is the worst that the
Mariners have ever been in the lastthree seasons. Right, in the last

(12:39):
three seasons they have come back toeither make the playoffs or almost make the
playoffs. So what would Houston beif we swept them nine out? And
what would their record be? Eleventhree twelve under Man I mean, the
Mirrors would have never been in thelast three years as bad as Houston.
I mean, that is the firstnail in the coffin for Houston. If
the Mariners were to go this weekwell, and you could, you could

(13:01):
put him eight or nine games outof a wildcard spot if you can do
that this weekend. And I mean, look, you got the pitching staff
to do it right. I meanKirby, Gilbert, Gilbert and Miller I
think consistently have been your best threeguys this year. Castillo's coming around,
but those three dudes I think haveplayed like your pitch, like your top
three arms so far, and yougot the advantage. I mean, Tonight's
gonna be tough, Tomorrow's gonna betough. And then you got the guy

(13:22):
for the Astros going on Sunday who'sbeen getting knocked around, uh the entire
season so far. So you havethe matchup on Sunday with with Bryce Miller
going up against what the hell's gotHunter Brown. Sorry, so I'm fired
up for tonight. I'm fired upfor this at six o'clock tonight, fired
up to see how many fans comeout excited to see what that offensive line
looks like, but again not puttingtoo much stock in it because it's gonna

(13:43):
change tremendously between now and August. So let's see how much budge there is
around Seattle. For Washington football,we're gonna break. Tony castro Cone's gonna
join us. Coming up next segments, we'll talk some dogs with him,
a little fun with audio as well. At three forty five, Hugh Miller
at four, Jake Lockers coming by, Shack Thompson's coming by, Mark Bruner's
coming by, and Cam Cleveland's comingby. How we hope you're coming by?

(14:05):
If you can sneak up here tothe press box, man, I
don't condone it, I would encourageit, but if you can do it,
I at it more from Husky Stadiumwith Tony c. Next on ninety
three three kJ R FM. Nowback to Softie and Dick Sports Radio.
Ninety three point three kJ r FWashington Huskies, Seeattle Press, You're home
for the Huskies and the Dogs defenseget the stuff. On fourth and eleven,

(14:28):
Yours takes a shotgun staff. He'sback to past pressure coming towse the
fade up to the dam Elisha jucksonknots the ball away. The Huskies are
headed to Houston. Ah, youcut it off. You cut you every

(14:50):
time I tell you, just letit roll, just miss it, Tony,
Husky Nation, We're gonna go witha naggy bab where we are getting
ready for the first spring football gamesince twenty three. Like, I have
watched that video of you and CamTony in the booth. I think if

(15:11):
you go online, you know,it tells you how many views it's at
so far you guys are aware ofthat, right, and it's like forty
thousand views. I think I'm likefive thousand of those. I have seen
that thing over and over and overagain. Tell me you've watched that a
ton of times? Yeah, Imean you know that I've listened. I
listened back to every game, justin the do you really yeah, just

(15:33):
in the critique of trying to like, you know, I want every aspect
of what we do to be thebest it can be and figure out how
we can grow. And I've justI've kind of hit the thirty second rewe
button on that part probably a handfulof times. It's Yeah, last season
was a season that you know, there will never be a season quite like

(15:54):
that. This season is one ofone, right, there will be other
great seasons at the University of Washington, and they might be really soon,
you know. But I'll tell youwhat, just how special that team was,
and and just not what they accomplishedon the field alone, but just
how we got to know the guysand the quality of the human beings and

(16:17):
and everything. It was just sospecial. And then to have the only
team in college football history ten straightgames decided by ten or less where they
won them all and went ten We'llnever see again. We'll never see that.
So from the Arizona game to theTexas game, over that span of
ten games, unreal. Uh,they never led by more than seventeen,
they never trailed by more than sevenand eighty three percent of the possessions in

(16:40):
those games the score was a onepossession game. That is unbelievable that we
endured there after the Arizona game. How pissed we were. We're like,
what the hell you get back onthat practice field to a smashing teams again.
Arizona wins ten games. Yeah,It's is pretty good, you know.

(17:02):
Tony Softie and I've been talking. One of our main talking points about
the Huskies over the last few monthsis how much buzz has carried over because
the one thing we didn't get asHusky Nation, we didn't get to bask
in anything. We didn't get tobask and how awesome all this thing was
because Kaylen just was like, I'mout right, and everything was a rebuild

(17:22):
from the get goal. So howmuch is carried over? I've made the
comment that I still think at thismoment it is a higher buzz than it
was at any point leading up tolast season in the last thirty years.
I still think we're there. Saftiseems a little more skeptical of that,
but I'll let him talk to abouthimself about it. What do you think?
So I will say collectively, therewas no collective celebration that being said

(17:48):
for every individual Husky fan that exists. Man, that's up to you.
Like like Softie, you just said, you've replayed that Texas game, you
know, a thousand times. Ifthat brings you enjoy, then go ahead
and hit play man and go aheadand basking it. I mean, go
ahead, and you know, watchthe highlights of Michael Pennix's career and you

(18:08):
know you w animal on Twitter, right, Like I mean, I saw.
I can't remember what it was,but I was thinking back to that
song be like Mike, and Iwent and looked up that video for him
in his push for the Heisman Trophyin twenty twenty two. Right, I
mean, yeah, we can enjoythis stuff as much as we darn well
please. But I think what's reallycool about this moment is there is so

(18:30):
much newness, and I think wecome into it with a lot of emotional
momentum. Because new is hard, change is hard. But when you have
the emotional momentum the Husky Nation hascoming into this thing, I think that's
really good. And it's not justyou know, a big turnover the roster,
but we got a whole new coachingstaff and we're gonna be going up

(18:51):
against whole new opponents in a conferencethat we've never been a part of before,
and geographically traveling to road games isgoing to be new. Everything about
this era, this this whole thiswhole view looking forward is new. But
you bring a lot of positive momentumand a lot of emotional positive energy into
this. Yeah, it's gonna goas well as it possibly can. And

(19:14):
I think it starts tonight. Imean tonight is a celebration of Husky football.
They've distributed over forty thousand tickets tothis event, and I don't think
you ever find a way to dothat if you're not carrying over so much
positive momentum from the last couple ofyears. Well, I'll tell you what,
if they can get forty thousand tonight, I'll be blown away. It'll
actually make me tear up if theyget forty thousand people. If they get

(19:36):
forty thousand people, then you arecorrect about the momentum. But I'm the
electricity. But can they get twentythousand? I mean, I'm I'm cool
trying this just to see what happens. But the quarterback situation the offensive line
situation obviously are two things that peoplewill keep an eye on. I mean,
you have the second all time leadingpasser in the history of the SEC,
and Will Rogers drew locks right behindhim by the way number three.

(19:57):
And then you got Demon Williams, who who basically, I mean Americas Davis
left because of Dumon Williams. AndI'm here in rumors and reports that the
coaching staff is though enthralled by thisguy, that the idea that Will Rogers
is a lot to start. Imean that may happen, but I think
there's a quarterback battle going on absolutelyin Fall Camp Tony. No, there's

(20:18):
no question about it. I meanWill Rogers, Look, he's got forty
three starts in the SEC. Therearen't a whole lot of people that have
ever done that, right, Okay, so Will Rogers forty three starts in
the SEC, and that is yourexperienced Go to QB one here as it
sits on May third, and yougot a guy that probably should be at
his high school prom right now.Who is pushing him? I mean,

(20:40):
talk about that level of talent forDemon Williams, a four star recruit who
was offered by Old Miss, offeredby Auburn, offered by some big time
college football programs. But you know, he built a relationship with Jetfish and
he wants to be a Washington Husky. And I got to say, like,
I'm pretty thrilled. I think we'regoing to see Number two running around
this upcoming year. Whether that's thembuilding packages for him, whether that's him

(21:03):
winning the job, whether that's himjust you know, being maybe a good
mobile option, be behind a youngeroffensive line. I think we're gonna see
both quarterbacks this year. So howabout this wide receiver corps. Let's let's
forget about last year. The greatestwide receiver corps in the history of this
maybe this conference. Yeah, Imean that's the greatest in this conference.
So let's just compare it to whata normal Husky wide receiver corps. I

(21:26):
mean, there's some really really goodtalent in that room. It's one of
the deeper rooms on the team,no question about it. You know,
Giles Jackson, Denzel Boston. We'vebeen waiting for those guys, uh to
kind of have their turn, andI think Denzel Boston. I was choking
with one of the one of thevideo staff members at practice a couple of
days ago, and we're saying, who do you think is better? Is

(21:49):
it practice Denzel or regular season Rome? Because practice Denzel has been that good
for two years. Like when wewatch him during practice, dude absolutely blows
you out of the water with hispotential. So Denzel Boston has massive potential
and I'm excited to see him actuallybe the starting flanker for this team.

(22:10):
Giles Jackson in the slot, perfectfit there. Jeremiah Hunters, a guy
that brings a ton of experience,in and then Rashid Williams has flashed a
lot as a freshman. We've alsoseen Keith Reynolds get some run. These
are guys that are just in theirsecond year at college football, but guys
that I think have a lot ofpotential and could play this year for the
Huskies. What does a Steve Belichickcoach defense look like, Well, we've

(22:34):
seen enough to know that yet.No, it's just been practiced, so
that's I think they're just kind ofgetting fundamentals down and that trying to get
aligned properly and use the right technique, and so I think that's gonna be
one of the storylines this season.Softy, I mean, the guy has
literally only coached the New England Patriots. Right, He's never coached anywhere.

(22:55):
Now, he's been a coach inthe twenty twelve, but he's only coached
the New England Patriot with his dadas the headman. So his Binkie was
his dad. This is right,This is a whole new thing. So
I'm really excited to see. Andyou know, from a talent standpoint,
this team has lost more than anyother program in the country, right,

(23:15):
ten guys to the NFL Draft,But where I will never put limits on
this program this year is how goodof a job is this staff going to
do of bringing whoever ends up onthe final roster along throughout the course of
the season. How much do theyimprove from week one to fall camp to
week twelve on the schedule in Eugeneagainst Oregon. I think that's gonna be

(23:38):
the storyline of this team. Andif you just want to have any sort
of semblance as to what's possible,Jedfish took over a dumpster fire in Arizona
and three years later they were tenand three. So there's no doubt they've
got the ability to do it.The question is, you know, how
quickly can they do it? Andcan they do it with this this roster
this season? The one area thisteam that probably has the most players that

(24:03):
fans will show up and go,oh, yeah, I recognize that name
is like the back seven. Imean to Patala, Bruner, Cam fab
Estein, Elijah Jackson. At leastthere's five guys that these people will show
up and go oh, I've seenthem play before. I mean they should
be pretty solid back there. Yeah. I have never seen a program go
to the National Championship Game and thenhave two returning starters on that team the

(24:26):
next year. I mean zero onoffense, two on defense. That being
said, you're right to Elijah Jackson. Are those two returning starters and then
you got other guys with starter levelof snaps. I mean Carson fab was
basically absolutely he had two interceptions inthe first two games of the year.
Carson Bruner played so much on specialteams and then rotating in with the twos

(24:47):
at linebackers that he had like theeighth most snaps on the defense last year.
So, I mean, Carson Bruner'sgot a ton of football under his
belt. I like the athleticism backthere. Talking to Jet and you'll hear
a little bit more on the onthe pregame interview that we do with him.
He thinks the secondaries is one ofthe most loaded rooms they've got,
and there's no doubt you bringing inguys like Ephesians. Price Sock from Arizona

(25:11):
was a four star recruit who playedin every game last year for the Wildcats.
Yeah. I really like the backhalf of the dec John Right.
Yeah, I don't say it right. I'm Jewish. I don't say it
right. I'm so glad Elijah cameback because I want him to have a
year to kind of really soak upthat play. It was the biggest play
in Husky football history. I meanit really was. I mean just from

(25:32):
an individual play, Like there maybe more iconic teams or games or photos,
but that one single play, likeyou dub went to the Rose Bowl
in ninety two and beat the pissout of Michigan, beat him by twenty
maybe maybe the Heisman back of theend zone, but yeah, it's fun
because you you set it yourself onthe bronck. This is how many times
I've heard that call. I canalmost now repeat it, right, like

(25:55):
the a team open maybe the moststressful play in Husky football history, and
you're just kind of like, ohmy god, and you were totally right.
I don't know if there was amore stressful individual play in the history
of this program than that fourth andthat throw to to Elijah Well. And
so you know, people don't necessarilyremember, because we're watching this from a
Washington perspective, that was ad NiMitchell. He was going against absolutely,

(26:18):
he was on an island against AdnaiMitchell, who, if you want to
know his background, had four careertouchdowns in the College Football Playoff in the
four games he had played at Georgiahad another touchdown catch earlier in that game.
Just got drafted in the NFL draft, and it was Elijah Jackson versus
ad Ni Mitchell for the championship game, and Jackson, who's got a forty

(26:41):
inch vertical, made one of themost athletic looking plays I've ever seen in
my life. I mean that wasperfect, not only perfect timing, but
the athleticism to leap over Adani Mitchelland knock it away. Yeah yeah,
iconic. Ad Now is actually hismiddle name. You guys know that his
full name is bar All right,Tony good stuff making to see a pal

(27:03):
Tony with us on you. We'regonna break a little fun with audio.
Next, Hugh Melon joins a fourright here on ninety three three KJRFM.
It's now time for someday in Dick'sFun with Audio, Jimmy g Paw and
starred Jimmy mister Garoppolo. Now let'shave some fun with audio. Boys and
girls back here inside Husky Stadium gettingready for the spring game pregame six o'clock

(27:26):
kickoff, six point thirty ish.Right here on ninety three to three KJRFM.
By the way, if you don'thave tickets for the game tonight,
there's QR codes all over the stadiumoutside the entry points. Just show up,
scan that bad boy, and getyour butt in here for the game
at six thirty tonight. All right, little fun with audio slash. Hey
did you hear that? Hey,Dick, did you happen to hear that?
What's that? Dick? We startwith your friend Patrick Beverley. Last

(27:49):
night, the Bucks season came toan end with a Game six lost to
Indiana, and after the game,Milwaukee guard Patrick Beverly sitting in his locker,
but refuse to answer questions while ESPNreporter Melinda Adams was around because she
is not subscribed to his podcast. You subscribe to my pot you can't interview

(28:10):
me in disrest, you subscribe?Okay? Cool again? There were a
couple times within a bucket or twoin previous games they all being able to
kind of get over that humber.Maybe was it anything they did in particular
or was it just one of thosewhere there wasn't the stop they made one?
What what kind of prevented that youoff from me able to get over

(28:30):
the move that might please or justget out the circle please for me,
please, ma'am, if you're notsubscribed to my plot, I appreciate that.
Thank you. Boy. The firsttime he said it, I thought
he's joking. Totally, totally thoughthe was And then a second and third
time, and I'm just thinking tomyself, dude, how big is your
freaking ego? Are you kidding me? How much of an arrogant d bag
are you? Well? That wasamazing. A guy sitting inside an NBA

(28:53):
locker room saying I can't talk toyou and you can't talk to me because
you don't subscribe to my podcast. My god, here's the problem. Wow,
Guys like Patrick Beverly and like DylanBrooks have made themselves a brand by
being jerks. If they were justreliant on their basketball ability, and they're

(29:14):
good, both good players, particularlyon the defensive end. If they're not
stars, they've made themselves stars bybeing jerks and probably made themselves a lot
of them. Ramon decent player, but people know him more for being a
loud mouth mass But at least Draymondhad seven or eight years where he was
one of the best small fours inthe league. Well, Charles Barkley,
Uh, after the game on theNBA on TNT. Oh sorry, hey,

(29:37):
Dick, did you what's that?Dick? After the game, Charles
Barkley criticizing Beverly for forcefully throwing abasketball twice towards Pacer fans behind the Bucks
bench. So hang on a second. So keep in mind this happened after
this incident took place. Go ahead, certainly appears he crossed the line,
throws a ball in the stand. He hit that lady back and he fires

(30:03):
it back. Oh he gone.He gonna get suspended. Yeah, yeah,
man, he hit that lady inthe head. That'll be next to
try. Don't remember he was tryingto hit. Yeah. Yeah, you
can't hit no lady ever, andthen you can't. I understand that.
But you're like, listen, I'vedone stupid stuff and then you get and

(30:26):
I got criticized. That's just wrong. He gonna get suspended for that,
and that's gonna be a good onetoo. He's totally right by the way
about where the basketball landed. Becausethrowing a fan at a dude is one
thing, and you're getting in troublefor that. But if you hit a
kid or you hit a lady,or let's say, God forbid, he
hits a handicapped guy. I mean, honestly, like, it just looks

(30:48):
totally different, right, And sobecause he hit a woman with a basketball,
Silver is gonna hammer this guy.And so everything that took place with
the gal in the locker room withthe podcast that was after he walked on
the floor and did that. Dude, it's like Babe Ruth walking off the
field getting like candy bars and dingdongs thrown at him, just yelling at
him. Mickey Mannle throwing his helmetaround. Wow, what a meltdown by

(31:14):
that guy last night. He's gonnaget a double suspension to begin next season.
He should, there's any question aboutit. And I remember he threw
it, and I believe he likemissed his intended target. So he had
some dude that was heckling the benchthat we're saying like something like, you
know, one two three can coonlike instead of one two three break,
he was saying one two three cancoon like your season's over, and which

(31:36):
is funny, Yeah, funny, funny, right, And so he throws
the ball, misses the guy andthen holds his hand up like, hey,
give me the ball back, sothey throw it back at him and
that's when he fires it. Totalwait meltdown by Patrick Beverly. Man,
I mean he's a meme now,Honestly, somebody goes nuts on a court.
Oh he got Beverly, you know, honestly. All right, Hey,

(31:56):
Dick, did you happen to hearthat? What's that? Dick?
Let's go back to that game thoughlast night, because during TNT's broadcast the
Bucks Pacer game was just full ofall kinds of nuggets last night. Man
microphones picking up one fan in thecrowd screaming at Damian Lillard during free throws
on this side of the ball. The effort defensively, and that has led

(32:17):
to them being able to get outin the open floor off until they're doing
a turret the job where he's say, Miller, your mom's watch your mom's
watching you. I tell you,it has been wow. It has been
so fun to watch the NBA playoffs, and at least we're getting to the
point now where most of everybody ison board. Now Here in Seattle,

(32:42):
you still get the occasional I'm nevergonna watch the NBA again, but it's
so cool to have ninety plus percentof Seattle sports fans back on the wagon
watching him because I tweet about theNBA plus every single year, and every
single year over the last fifteen years, I've gotten less and less unless push
back every single year. There, let's face it, Jackson. In the

(33:04):
end, it's all about how muchheat Fain takes on Twitter. That really
is. You can use it.You can use it though. You can
use it as kind of a barometer. You use Twitter as a barrometer all
the time. I should, though. It really is kind of dumb.
I mean, let's face it,it really is. What other barometer can
you use? I just have nobarometer at all. Just walk around wondering
all the time. I don't wantto walk on what what? What?

(33:24):
Really? I want to have data. Really is happening in life? All
right? What more? Hey,Dick, did you happen here? What's
that? Dick? Jonathan Papplebond,Former Red Sox closer Jonathan Papplebond joined the
Foul Territory podcast with AJ Prazinski yesterdayand responded to Steven A. Smith's comments
earlier this week about Mike Trout andbaseball players who get injured and doing so.

(33:47):
Tore Smith a new one. Whenhe makes these top kind of comments,
he really truly does not know whathe's talking about and all honestly,
and that's why he makes such aseninecomments because he truly doesn't know. And
so when I was in Philly,Okay, we had a traveling secretary.
Well, I got this conversation withhim into about Steven A. Smith one

(34:09):
day and I said, well, how come he never comes in the clubhouse
anymore? And he says to me, he says, oh, no,
we had to kick him out ofthe clubhouse. I said, really,
I said, y'all kicked him outof the clubhouse. I said, well,
why did y'all kick him out ofthe clubhouse? And he proceeds to
tell me that he was doing allkind of shady sh like going through the

(34:32):
manager's office and when he wasn't inthere, going through the training room,
pulling out reports in all kinds ofplaces he shouldn't have been. So for
me, I've always looked at thisguy like a complete joke. And I
truly do believe that Major League Baseballhas kicked him out, and therefore there

(34:59):
he has all this negative to sayabout Major League Baseball because I don't really
truly honestly think that he's allowed inMajor League Baseball clubhouses. I mean,
you're talking about one of the mostnarcissistic people you could come across. And
the fact that he uses his middlename is A. It was probably stands
for and he doesn't really even trulyknow the game of baseball. Well,

(35:24):
you know my take on it.I don't even sell like a clown with
that comment about Mike Trout. ButI'm more intrigued by papal Bond's claim that
he's been banned from clubhouses. Yeah, I'm a tex tim heavy. Right
now, I'll find out have youbanned? I got a buddy with the
Marlins, a Buttery, the RedSox. I'll find out that Steven A
has ever tried to get to Aim. Sure, but like, is that
is that true that Stephen A hasbeen banned from Major League Baseball clubhouses because

(35:44):
you know he wants to run forpresident? Right what? Oh? Yeah,
he totally wants to run for president, and so we can have a
president that's been banned for Major LeagueHugh Belan's gonna join us next ninety three
to three KJRFN
