ask you about Jaylen Milroe at four, but I got sidetracked.
That happens sometimes my brain just goes into different directions.
And we got a nice into a nice conversation about
college football. So we got me and his take on Milroe,
we got lan Zerline's take on Milroe, and Hugh. I mean,
the question that I have for you on Jaylen Milroe,

who was in Seattle this week, who Greg Bell mocked
to Seattle in the second round early this morning in
his in his piece. So it's not I think it's
a relevant conversation to have here in Seattle. It's not
out of nowhere. But I mean, the question I have
for you is simply, is are his deficiencies somewhat teachable

to the point where you think that he could be
at some point a starting NFL quarterback? Because obviously, in Seattle,
with a twenty seven year old quarterback, we don't need
a quarterback in twenty twenty five, don't need a quarterback
in twenty twenty six, We may or may not need
a quarterback in twenty twenty seven. So is this something
with this freak athletic ability that that would be good

to stash away for a couple of years here.

Well, it just depends on what you think you can fix,
and there's a lot that needs to be fixed on this.
I've watched a good amount of tape. I'm gonna watch more,
but you know, there's an accuracy and there's a processing
problem that shows on a relatively consistent basis. And the

problem is that when he's good, it's really electric. It
reminds me of Anthony Richardson. I can remember making the
comment I've studied a lot of Florida tape and I've
yet to see one college level rep because every rep
that I see is either an NFL gorgeous throw or

it's a high school like it's JB High school. And
there's some of that with Milroe, you know, for example,
to put on the Auburn tape the right the Iron
Bowl like that's their arrival. There's a couple of throws
that are just wow, he has the right hash. He
throws this far far corner rout deep down the field,
hits a receiver just like walks it to him. Beautiful

way out out there. They ran a it looked like
almost like a triple post. They ran a overwrouted by
the inside slot, and then they ran a double post
combination where he hits the widest guy down the field.
Now the receiver ended up dropping it was well covered,
but he just he just dropped it right down the chimney.
Gorgeous throw. But in that game, he throws a steam

route like like hideously late, just doesn't process like it
was as if he was throwing routes on air, like
didn't even have any concept that there's defenders there that
can intercept the ball, and so he throws the picks there.
Then then he has a Texas route. A Texas rount
is little angle route to a running back that's just

you start to the flat and then you right over
the middle. I mean the guy's like four yards in
front of It's just like it's like a laying in basketball,
and he just skyle nails it just right over the
top and almost gets that pick and then you know
throw On the bowl game against Michigan, he throws a
wheel route.

He's anticipation the out and up goes up and he
throws it right into the zone. Just gorgeous, like Aaron
Rodgers es pick a quarterback, Pat Mahomes pick a quarterback.
Joe Montana pick a quarterback. It's beautiful. But now they're
down in the red zone and he throws a fade route,
just a simple fade route down by the goal line.

He underthrows it by five feet and it should have
been picked. The receiver had to It was open, it
was wide open, and he did it was like hideously underthrown.

A couple of plays later, they ran a concept called China,
which is the two whitest guys running these five yard
INDs and a corner, very ubiquitous route in the NFL
in college and high school for that matter. I mean,
I can't even tell you how many touchdowns that that husky.
You've seen Husky quarterbacks throw this on and the third,

the third, innermost guy runs a corner out. That's all.
He's the innermost guy. There's a lot of space. You
just got a process and it shows clean. There's times
where it's murky, like the corner's off and you go, oh,
I got to make sure this corner doesn't sink underneath
the corner who's guarding the widest receiver. We want to
make sure he follows the widest receiver in and me.

because you're throwing to the third guy in and it's

you would if you just throw on tape and you say, Okay,
I'm thinking about drafting this guy second day. What should
I expect to see some some impressive wow throws? And
I know I'm gonna see some mistakes. But how bad

to being?

His mistakes are are are like ufa undrafted free agent

are you that you can fix this stuff?

Well, I'm wondering if Anthony Richardson might even be a
cautionary tale because there are some comparisons there, and they drafted,
you know, Anthony Richardson was drafted by the Colts fourth. Overall,
I'm wondering if Anthony Richardson had a you know, has
had a good had a good career thus far, if
people would see Jaln Milros like, Okay, well they fixed
Anthony Richardson, maybe they can fix Jalen Milroe. But since

they haven't fixed Anthony Richardson, maybe they're afraid of Jalen.

I don't think there's any question about it. I think
if Anthony Richardson right now had been bawling out, you know,
maybe he struggled in September of his rookie year, and
then he's just been you know, just like exponentially just
graphing upward and he was really judged to be really quality.
I don't think there's any doubt in my mind it
would be influencing how we see Milroe, because right now,

you just feel like with Anthony Richardson, you're you're chasing
traits and trying to ignore those awful high school plays
that were on the tape. But you just go, here's
a big dude. Now, Anthony Richardson sixty four Milroe six
to two. Anthony richards is like two forty four. So
Anthony Richardson was even in some ways more.

and how much of an issue would it be to

my kids. So I've watched his career at Oregon. I

that are just wow, he has the right hash. He
throws this far far corner rout deep down the field,
hits a receiver just like walks it to him. Beautiful

way out out there. They ran a it looked like
almost like a triple post. They ran a overwrouted by
the inside slot, and then they ran a double post
combination where he hits the widest guy down the field.
Now the receiver ended up dropping it was well covered,
but he just he just dropped it right down the chimney.

route like like hideously late, just doesn't process like it
was as if he was throwing routes on air, like
didn't even have any concept that there's defenders there that

just a simple fade route down by the goal line.
