Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, on this rainy, awful day, I like to
look on on the bright side of things, because it
is tough sometimes when you wake up and it's pitch black,
even though it's like seven thirty in the morning, and
it stays pretty damn dark all the way through the day.
And I was just thinking, man, we are living through
a golden age in Seattle sports right now. You have
got a Seahawks team that is twelve to one to

(00:23):
win the Super Bowl, plus five point fifty to win
the NFC Championship. You got the Huskies in the College
Football Poll less than two years after the program completely
blew up and started from scratch. You've got the Krack
in despite the lost last night, one point off the
lead in the Western Conference. You got the uw men's

(00:43):
basketball team just outside the poll, and with their schedule
the next couple three weeks, they should be ranked by Thanksgiving.
You got your Sounders in the playoffs, one game away
from advancing. I mean, there is a legitimate chance that
every one of our seven biggest teams, the ones I
just made once I just named, and the Storm well
obviously are playing right now. I mean, there's a legitimate

(01:06):
chance that every one of our seven biggest teams make
the playoffs in twenty twenty five, and the Husky football
team is probably the.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Most outside possibility of all of them.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I mean, they've either made the playoffs like your Sounders have,
like my Storm av yeah, and or they're looking really
good to make the playoffs like the Seahawks, like Husky
basketball man. They they absolutely have have the talent to
make the NCAA tournament. And it's kind of the closest
thing we've seen Jackson in recent long memory was twenty

(01:38):
twenty two when you had an eleven and two UDUB team.
You had a Hawks team that made the playoffs, but
they were only nine to eight. Kraken made the second round,
Mariners made the second round, and your Sounders were the
Conky CAF champions, and the Storm made the final four
the WNBA, but the UB hoops team stunk that season.
So this is this is one year where you're literally
seven could be seven for seven.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
It's like the opposite of two thousand and eight. Like,
yes we are.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
We are in an embarrassment of riches with all of
our sports franchises right now. I guess as a Seattle
sports fan, Dick and I'm sure that you have probably
had had to go through your brain, and I'm sure
many people driving around are having it go through their
brain right now.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
When is the shoe gonna drop?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Like, what's what's gonna be the thing that turns everything?
Is Sam Darnold going to tear his acle and.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Stop it now?

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Like?

Speaker 3 (02:25):
What's gonna happen to turn? It's just too good? Everything
right now is too good for us.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
And it's funny that you mentioned that, because something fascinating
to me has happened regarding the Hawks over the last
four months. Let's let's go back to August, right, national media, Oh,
rams and Niners, Rams and Niners, Rams and Niners, Seattle.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
The distant third.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Maybe this plucky Arizona team's gonna finish in third and
Seattle's gonna finish in fourth.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
That was national media narrative. And here we were in.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Seattle, going, I think you guys are all missing something here.
I think the Seahawks are gonna be really good. You
and someting and I all had to either ten or
eleven wins and we weren't alone that the Seattle Times
guys had them as playoff teams. But now here, we're
in November, and kind of to your point, now, the
national media is like, these guys are for real.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
We were number one tenders, We were number one on
the Sports Illustrated Power rankings this week, number one in
the NFL.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
And so like the national media is focus on Seattle,
and to your point, we're kind of in the in Seattle.
We're like, like something's gonna right, Like, there's no there's
gonna be This is Seattle.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
There's no way that.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Six and two is gonna turn into fourteen and three.
I mean, that just doesn't That just doesn't happen around here.
And obviously one of the main reasons that the Hawks
are where they are is just the amazing play at
the quarterback position. And you know, again, let's go to
the national media. You know how I like to watch my.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Shows in the mon.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
My shows, some I love myself, something I get on
the treadmill every morning. You know, give my forty five
minutes of Cardio in and I and I get through
some Coward.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
And guess who Colin Coward was talking about today. Listen
to this.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
You very rarely see hot dog on a stick become
zaggat rated. You don't see you atrocious become exceptional, Like
it just doesn't happen, especially in sports. So Sam Darnold
was so bad in New York. I was like, I
don't know what happened. I thought he was going to
be sort of a little bit of Andrew Luck his

(04:24):
last two years. He is now with all analytics, the
best quarterback in the NFL. No, I mean, and they
just added Rashid Shaheed, a deep threat. So now he's
got a deep threat JS and that rookie from Colorado
State the old lines better. He's literally gone from unplayable
to best guy in the league.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
He then went on Jackson and did his quarterback pyramid, okay,
and he based this on their performance this year. And
so he had four tiers. Obviously, your bottom tiers got
four guys. Your next tear's got three, Your next year's
at two. Your next tear's got one in his bottom
his bottom four were Mahomes, Dak Jared Goff, and Daniel Jones.

(05:07):
His next to the bottom were Drake may Justin Herbert
and Baker Mayfield. His next two up were Josh Allen
and Matthew Stafford. And sitting there at the top of
the pyramid was Sam Darnold.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Sorry, just quickly quickly clarifying, you said in the fourth
tier he had.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Mahomes based upon this year's performance.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Now, I don't necessarily agree with this.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Spear completely blasphemy, and I can't even take the rest
of the pyramids seriously considering Mahomes, like just the way
he's I get it, the chiefs around him and not
have not been very good, but like, come on, that's
he's insane.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Mame Mahomes has had more stinkers than Donald. I mean,
there's no question, but Mahomes had a stinker last week.
I mean, there's no question to tell you.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
But Donald deserves to be in the in the in
the top tier with Mahomes and others, right, And.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
You know, gets back to what Saftie was saying yesterday.
Safti said, Yo, he sees Donald.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Today top and he said top sixth quarterback in the NFL,
So like top five or top top six guy. And
so I got to thinking, I was like, Okay, where
would I put Sam Donald right now?

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Now?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Forget about you know what the coward ranking of just
what he's done this year. I basically just ranked him like, Okay,
who would I rather have to win a game tomorrow
that I have to win tomorrow. Then Sam Donald and
I kind of had my first tier of guys. All

(06:36):
of these guys I'd rather have than Sam Darnald. And
this isn't take a shot of stamdo These are pretty
emn good guys, Mahomes, Alan Burrow, Matthew Stafford, considering all
these guys are health No, Lamar Jackson. Jackson was the
top of my next tier of guys. Yeah, okay, And
I had and this is where it starts to get
a little bit hazy. Whether I'd take all these guys
over over darn I'd had Lamar, Justin Herbert and Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
And then this next group.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
You got Golf, you got Donald, you got Dak, you
got Hurts, Jones, Jaden Daniels. There's a pretty like we're
getting a little bit deeper at the quarterback position in
the NFL. Now, I just named thirteen guys, Yeah, Jordan Love,
and there's fourteen guys that are all pretty damn good.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I mean, I'm not too far off from you. I
honestly like and this this people in lay may say
that I'm, you know, Colvert crazy. Right now, I would
take Donald over over Stafford. Like I can think of
Allen and I think you're right Burrow when he's healthy, Mahomes,
I would put Lamar Jackson. But like for me, Sam
Donald is the for the question that you just asked

(07:44):
a guy to win a game, right now, Donald's the
next guy, and it's it's undeniable based on the stats,
based on the stats.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
You're exactly right what you know.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
It's funny. I'm kind of torn on Donald's playoff ability
because part of me, part of me says, part of
me says, like when you're compared to Stafford, like, Okay,
Staffords won a super Bowl, right and.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
We're talking about a play we win one playoff game
or just win a regular game, like you.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Gotta win the whether the super Bowl, it's a must
flake game.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Well, yeah, we're talking about the super Bowl. Then it's
a different conversation.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
But then but then also, you know, I'm fighting with
this thought that, wow, does Sam Donald take a lot
of crap for.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Two football games? You know, he takes a.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Lot of crap for playing poorly in one regular season
finale and one playoff game, and like unfairly so I
think because I think there are some people out there,
and steven A.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Smith is one of them. I heard him today.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Steve Masmith is one to me like a yeah, Mike
McDonald hadn't coach Sam Donald in the playoffs yet.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
I just sent you that for Funnel with Audio today.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
You mean, at times was pumping the tires of Sam
Donald and and steven A's quote was he hasn't coached
Sam Donald in the playoffs yet, you know, so it's
still hanging over Sam's head, like you know, just you know,
like the dark cloud that's hanging over us right now
out here. So and until he you know, to be fair,

(09:11):
until he gets into January, which he will this year,
and be a playoff quarterback, until he gets over that
playoff hump.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I think there's gonna be steven A's and more out
there saying the.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Same thing, right, They will continue that, And I think
that that's just gonna be one of those things where
I think, as a Seahawks fan, we just have to
ignore it because the reality is it doesn't matter what
those people want to say or should say or could say,
because we are up here, tucked up in South Alaska,
in Canada, and we understand that there's this you know,

(09:42):
Dia tribe against Sam Donald for these two games and
not doing it in the playoffs. But the reality, Dick is,
I don't care. Steven A is just a loud amount.
He doesn't know what the hell he's talking about anyway.
He's more invested in politics than he is in sports
right now, So he can shut his fat face and
we could just continue to enjoy Sam Donald looking like
a freaking MVP candidate.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
I love it. I love you. You know what else I love?

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I love Rick Neuheisel's joining the show as we're sitting
here in Southeast Alaska. You're exactly right. If you ever
been to Southeast Alaskan Jackson, it looks exactly like this.
Like this looks like catcha can right now is what
we're experiencing here in Seattle. Rick new Heiles will join
us next on ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
Your home for college football Saturdays, is live with CBS
Sports analyst Rick new Heiseel, powered by Taco Time. Hungry
at Taco Time, It's easy to create exactly what you're craving,
and we wouldn't have it any other way. How do
you Taco Time customize your meal and order ahead? On
the Taco Time Northwest Taco Time. Time for something different

(10:41):
now with Rick new Heisel, Here's Softian, Dick.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
I don't know how many times my nearly sixteen year
old son comes to me and says, Dad, can you
get me a soft burrito at Taco Tommy just does.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
It all the time. It's literally its favorite fast food
place to go too. It's Rick new Heeisel's as well.
How you doing, coach?

Speaker 8 (11:04):
I am wonderful, Dick. I hope that your son gets
his wish. You provide for the soft burrito that everybody craves.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
And it is truly remarkable watching him eat it because
in less than a minute it is gone.

Speaker 8 (11:20):
You can't imagine there's even any tasting going.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yeah, yeah, exactly right.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
You know all about having an athletic sun man and
how well they can eat.

Speaker 8 (11:31):
Three of them, three of them. Yeah, it doesn't spend
much time in the gullet, as they say.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Well, Rick, and I know Jackson was talking me off
the phone or off the air about what kind of
weather we're having here. We're truly having dog weather right now,
We're having husky dog weather. And it got me thinking, like,
how did you recruit to this like when kids were
here in November, December, January, and it's dark at eight

(11:58):
in the morning, it's dark again at four o'clock in
the after Like, what did you just say to kind
of ease their fears and tell me, yeah, it's really
not like this.

Speaker 8 (12:06):
All the year, we spent a lot of time inside.
If the weather, if the weather wasn't going to be
a sales point, especially for kids that were coming up
from California, then what we would do is we'd find
ways to spend time inside and uh, you know, just
create this atmosphere that was you know, obviously it's not

(12:29):
hard to sell Washington and its history and all the
different things that go on there, but you didn't want
them to feel cold. Uh, So we would be inside
as much as we could be. And then if we
got nice weather, then we were on the boat from
you know, the shores of Lake Washington right there at
the Husky Stadium across to where I lived over there

(12:50):
at Maidenbower Bay, And and that was great. And I
remember Sean Cody, who ended up going to USC but
he he jumped off my pier into Lake Washington saying,
this place is awesome. I thought we were getting Sean
Cody and unfortunately Edo Jeron got his miss in him.

(13:11):
After that, we didn't get it quite finished off. But
if it was dark and not conducive to the Sunshine guys,
we were inside.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Rick new Hazel joining us in coach. The College Football
Poll has been released. The Huskies are rightfully ranked, and
you know, I think fans of the big time non
conference September matchups got good news when they saw this
first poll, because you know, you had that massive Ohio
State Texas game and both those teams are in great shape.
OSU's number one Texas looks like they're the one team

(13:47):
that could potentially make the playoffs even with three losses,
because the Committee does not appear to be holding that
OSU loss against them. So will this be a catalyst
for more of those big time interconference matchups in the
first month of the season.

Speaker 8 (14:00):
I think we have to get to a place where,
whether it's the Committee or not, that we make those
games a reality. Certainly, the fans deserve them. The networks
who are spending the Boukoo bucks for this opportunity to
bring that to the homes across the country deserve it.

(14:21):
And I just think we got to do it.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Now.

Speaker 8 (14:24):
I understand the commissioners are sitting there, Well, you've got
to pay for more. You know, if we're going to
enhance the product, then we should get more money. And
maybe that will be the case. I know that's what
Tony Petiti from the Big Ten office as the commissioner,
wants to do. But we'll just wait and see. But
there's no question that the non conference games need to
be bolstered. And you know what, I also think this

(14:47):
is a fun race, even though no one was ranked
in the top twenty five from the group of five
or group of six, depending on how you look at it.
I think it's a fun race is to see which
team gets access to the twelve team field, because I
think that it's also a fund race for those fans
of those programs to follow.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Let's talk about two of the most high profile coaches
in college football, and neither one of them are doing
very well. Let's start with our old friend prime Time.
He has been outscored one hundred and five to twenty
four in the last two games. What is going on
in your old stopping grounds of Boulder.

Speaker 8 (15:24):
Well, listen, he doesn't have the high flying act of
Shaduur to Travis Right, Henry's off to the NFL. Shaudur's
off to the NFL, and that act, that high wire
act that we watched and marveled at, is no longer
part of the story. And remember that Dion. First of all,

(15:45):
I had tremendous health issues over the summer, and we're
all thrilled that he's feeling better and hopefully can continue
to coach. But he doesn't go off the road. He
doesn't go on the road to recruit. He stays home,
he doesn't phone calls. He's busy doing prime stuff rather
than coach stuff. And I don't know how you survived

(16:06):
doing that, Lane Kiffin, even if it's a transfer guy,
is not a high school guy. But even transfer guys,
he's on the road. The kid that is making all
the news that Trinidad Shambliss at quarterback there. He went
and recruited at Farri State, a small school in Division
two school in Michigan. He went and spent time with

(16:27):
that guy. If you're not willing to do that, you're
just making phone calls and doing the recruiting off of YouTube,
you're going to be in harm's way. And that basically
is what's going on at Colorado. I don't know how
much longer Dion's going to be in this business. I
think Dion with with the excitement waning and the product waning,

(16:49):
I would not be shocked if Dion isn't part of
game day next to his buddy Nick Saban next year.
That wouldn't shock me at all. And if that were
to happen, I will tell you that my biggest guests
would be Pat Fitzgerald then to be the coach at
Colorado because Gary Barnett calls those games as the color
analyst in the radio side of things. Gary Barnett would

(17:11):
push hard for Pat to get that opportunity.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
That would be interesting, very very interesting. And then the
other one that's that's having a very rough time this
year is Dabbo. I mean, has he lost his team?
There was that viral video of him on the sidelines
and he was just the rating guys. He went nuts
on Saturday. They've lost two in a row and they're
three and five on the season.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
They're seasons over.

Speaker 8 (17:33):
There's there's no other way to explain this than that
there's a chemistry problem at Clemson. Because everybody in the
country myself included had them in the top five. Given
all the returning players, given a quarterback that had the
experience that club Nick comes into the season with, and
given you know, the Dabbo resume, it's just not working.

(17:57):
There's got to be something missing. And I remember years ago,
Steve Mariucci came to me. He had a pro day
there at the University of Washington. He was really excited
about Marcus Gujos Sopo entering the NFL. We were sitting
there talking. He said, you know, these jobs ought to
be like political offices. You run, you get elected, you

(18:18):
get four years. If you get you know, if you're
successful in the four years, you get reelected and you
get another four years in office. But after that should
be term limits. We're done because the expectations for Dabo
after the first eight years of his run at Clemson
were through the roof and there's really difficult to get there.
I think it wouldn't shock me, and this is another

(18:41):
one of those out there type predictions. Wouldn't shock me
that Dabo walks from this job. Clemson's paying him twelve
million bucks. That is an inordinate amount of money for
a team that's making forty million from their television deal.
That's half of what they're getting in the Big Ten
and the sec the sister school to Clemson campus is

(19:04):
almost identical, the philosophies of the education almost identical. Is Auburn.
That to me is where Davo should go and Davo
should start again and see if he can build something
as special as he built at Clemson.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
That's another big opening there now with that opening.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
But you know, when it comes to these openings, you
mentioned Lane before, Lane Kiffin before, and he's probably the
hottest candidate out there right now. Talk to me about
being the hot coaching name twenty five years ago versus
today's college football.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Who are you talking to?

Speaker 1 (19:35):
What questions are you asking ads when you interview for
a job in two thousand versus when you interview for
a job in twenty twenty five. In the nil, Eric
is it's got to be it's got to be a
different beast, right.

Speaker 8 (19:49):
Well, there's no question that the issues are different today.
But really the biggest problem for Lane Kiff and to
take either Florida or to take LSU, the two schools
that are you rumored to be very much in the
Lane sweepstakes The problem is he's going to be in
the college football playoffs, and for him to do justice

(20:11):
to the two jobs that he would be considering, to
pick one of those and not be there for early
signing Day, not be there for the opening of the
transfer portal, and to then say, well, I'll augment the
billy that I missed in those deals by bringing players
of my own and what he would be doing to
ole Miss.

Speaker 9 (20:32):
To do that, that takes some absolute stones of not
being able to look back and say, hey, these guys
were really good to me, and I just absolutely twisted.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
The knife into them. Because the calendar would take him,
especially if he gets past that New Year's Day game,
the calendar would take him, you know, all the way
into the January tenth day, which is almost the end
of the transfer portal, where all the transactions have been made.
How do you build a team because there's not a
second transfer portal. We don't have that spring one any longer.

(21:06):
So I don't see Lane moving. I see Lane staying
right there at ole Miss. I think the folks at
ole Miss will make him a handsome offer that is
very difficult to step away from, and he'll live happily. Ever,
after there in Hotty Toddy Land.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Well, I can hear folks driving around right now saying, well, yeah,
but Rick, that's exactly what Kailin did to us here
in Seattle. But you're saying, maybe it's a different situation
because Calen at least had this window.

Speaker 8 (21:32):
There was a second transfer portal, and I think Caylen
de Boor would tell you that was an absolute nightmare.
I think he will tell you that getting there, and
basically he was at the behest of the players. They
owned him. Rather than him having this say with them,
he was having to say and do whatever it took
to keep people on campus. And I think even as

(21:54):
he got to that first year, the culture was really
something that he had to embrace than him create. And
I think coaches are wary of that because coaches talked
to one another.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
What kind of game do we see at Camp Randall
on Saturday. That's a struggling offense the Huskies are going
up against.

Speaker 8 (22:15):
Well, if if Dante Moore is kind of an opportunity
to see into the future, you saw what happened when
he got hurt. You ended up being in a slugfest
where you're just trying to run the ball against the
one thing Wisconsin does well this year to stop the run.
That's a Loopvickl principle. Right, So this is going to

(22:36):
be about the quarterback situation at Washington, just showing off
and doing what this kid has done all season long.
And if he gets out and gets loose, which I
think that he can do against the Badger defense, then
I think all things will will go well for the Huskies.
And that's my expectation. I don't know that it'll be

(22:58):
a flashy win. I just I think you get your win,
you get home, and you've got Purdue the following week,
and then you turn your attentions to both UCLA and
Oregon because if you win out, I think you're in
the playoff.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
I think you're right.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
It sets up to be an awesome, awesome night or day,
depending on when the game is in three weeks against Oregon,
potentially all Right, coach, Taco Time pick of the week
time in honor of my son, I'm going with the
number one.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
That's what he likes the best, the soft, the soft taco.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
And we'll do a little fully leaded cherry coke and
we'll get it get it going. So Taco Time pick
of the week. You lost on wake four est plus
the ten and a half. They got hammered by FSU.
But that's all right, your six hammered.

Speaker 8 (23:42):
I got gonna say thank you for not bringing that
up at the top of the show.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Yeah, you got it in.

Speaker 8 (23:47):
You reminded me that I took one on the ship.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yeah, well you can get back to five, buttter. No,
you get the six and six this week if with a.

Speaker 8 (23:54):
Victory, here we go. All right. So the number ten
team in the land, as we heard from the committee
on Tuesday night, is Notre Dame. Notre Dame was less
than impressive against Boston College. They realized their situation is
tenuous given that Texas and Oklahoma are behind them outside

(24:16):
looking in, knowing that an ACC team and a group
of five teams have to be included in the field,
so they're going to have to be impressive. They are
a twenty four and a half point favorite over Navy
at home. Maybe just got bludgeoned by North Texas and
it wasn't mess to Maker the quarterback that did it.
It was the running back. And with Jeremiah Love and

(24:37):
Jadavian Price, I'm going to go I'm going to go
Notre Dame. I'll lay the twenty four and a half.
I think they have to be impressive at home. Let
me have the Irish and I think we'll have a
nice evening celebrating all things that are leperchron green.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
I love it all right, Notre Dame minus the twenty
four and a half against the Naval Academy.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Gotta get it done in South Bend. Rick, always a pleasure.
We'll talk to you next.

Speaker 8 (25:03):
Week, all right, Dick, take care?

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Now sounds good. That's Rick new heis the coach. Time
Now for fact or fiction?

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Where's that to go?

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Glad you're with us.

Speaker 10 (25:12):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction, probably presented
by Lucky Eagle Casino and hotel where every day feels lucky.
Factor Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point three
KJR FM.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
All right, Jackson, I'm sitting on top of the standings
in Factor fiction. I usually go with the NFL. Almost
every one of my picks all year long has been
with the NFL. But I'm veering off the board a
little bit, and I got a little bit more confidence
with what Rick said right there. You notice he threw
that in. He said, you know that he thinks the
Huskies are gonna get it done, but it's not gonna

(25:55):
be flashy. That's what he said. The Wisconsin Badger, this
is just unbelievable. They averaged three point two yards per rush,
they averaged six point one yards per pass, and they
averaged four point three yards per play. That is one
hundred and thirty third in FBS. Only two teams are worse,

(26:16):
and neither of them are Power four teams. They have
lost six games in a row, scoring an average of
seven points per game. That has been their average in
conference play. Let's say they double that and get the thirteen.
The Huskies would need to score thirty two points.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Ye to hit the over. What did the other teams do?

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Ore Can only scored twenty one, Michigan only scored twenty
four against Wisconsin. Ohio States scored thirty four and that
was the most. And the weather in Madison calls for
thirty five degrees rain and flurries by the fourth quarter.
And the stat I looked up today cemented it for
me plays run per game. Is this gonna be a

(26:58):
fast paced game or a slow pace game. The Huskies
are one hundred and fourteenth in the nation in pace
of play, Wisconsin is one hundred and thirty second.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
There are not gonna be a lot of plays. There
are not gonna be a lot of drives.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Give me the under forty five and a half where
the dogs grind it out, get like a twenty one thirteen,
twenty four to ten, something like that. But it is
gonna be under the forty four and a half.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
What do you think?

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeah, I really really like it, and I love games
that are based on whether. I've done that a couple
of times over the years, and usually it works when
you just look at the conditions. The only thing that
could keep me from loving this would be if if
they Huskies just say, all right, given the conditions, we're
just gonna hand the ball to Jonah Coleman fifty times
and he just absolutely unloads for a historic performance. I

(27:48):
don't think we're headed to.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
That, right, And this rig said Wisconsin's strengthening their team
is run right exactly, So I do see the under
is I think it's I think the under is even
a better bet then I think Ian went with the
Huskies minus thee.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
What was it eleven and a half.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Yeah, I'm a little bit worried about that because you're thirteen.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
Wouldn't surprise me, now, it wouldn't, which is ultimately, however
you look at it, forty five and a half is
a big number. It's just not going to hit that
in rain and sleet and snow and under forty degrees.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
All right, let's take it fact four nine four or
five one.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
If you like the Huskies under forty five and a
half at Camp Randall a text fact to four nine
four to five one. If you don't, I get text
fiction to four nine four five to one, presented by
the Lucky Eagle Casino Fun with Audio and then Mike
Holmer and right around the corner, live from the five
twenty Bar and Grill in Bellvill on just a lovely
Thursday afternoon on ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
It's now time for Sufday in Dick's One with Audio.
Jimmy g pauncht Jimmy mister Daroppolo.

Speaker 10 (28:56):
Now let's have some fun with audio.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Ah the coach is here at the five twenty Bar
and Grill, live and in person.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
He'll join us at four o'clock.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
The Mike Congran Show from four to five, leading us
up to Raiders and Broncos our old friend friends Pete
and Gino on Thursday Night Football going up against the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
But let's start with a little fun with audio. Hey Jackson,
did you hear that?

Speaker 3 (29:20):
What's that? Dick?

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Former NBA star Paul Pierce was on the Truth after
Dark podcast this week and shared some relationship advice for
men out there.

Speaker 11 (29:30):
You really want to know if a girl love you,
need to go out and cheat on her. Let's see
if you really want to, If you really want to
know if a girl love you for real, go cheat
on her and see how she reacts. Now we're gonna
see what's real. I'm just saying, like, I don't know.

(29:52):
Tell me.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
How doctor Phil would respond to that?

Speaker 1 (29:59):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Other how about your wife? She's this? I mean, I'm
sure she does. She's done some wedding counseling and in
her time in her marriage counseling.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Really quite funny you bring that up because I heard
that clip this morning at about six thirty am, laying
in bed and rises says, what the hell? And that
was I think that was the third and fourth words
out of her mouth.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
This morning or what or third and fifth? What the hell?

Speaker 10 (30:29):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (30:30):
Yeah, no on a therapy side. She then went on
to say that he needs some therapy.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Yes, he needs the one that needs some therapy, no
question about it. But we'll move on from that one quickly.
Did you hear that? Jj Watt joined Pat McAfee's show
yesterday and talked about what he sees from the Seahawks now,
after adding Rashid Shaeed.

Speaker 12 (30:50):
Would you like, I mean the Seahawks are a wagon dude,
like the the I think the West Coast kind of loses.
I think I think there's true football fans and deep
football fans obviously know it, but they're putting something together
out there, and then you go ahead and you ask
your heed to it. It's that's Sam Darnold's playing unbelievable football.
That whole West Coast right now with the Rams and
everybody like, there is some very good ball going on

(31:11):
out there.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
Well, Jackson, that's kind of funny because I started the
show with the with this where just our mentality is
Seattle sports fans. Yep, we've seen both sides of the
Seattle sports fan mentality with the Seahawks team since August
The mentality in August.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Was, Hey, you guys aren't paying any attention to us.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
We're really good, We're gonna be really good this year,
and nobody's talking about us.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
And now we're really good. Everybody's talking about us, and
we're like, oh, I don't know. I'm really nervous about
saying the Seahawks t eave a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
I mean, I'm not nervous about saying it.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
I'm just waiting for I just know that they can't
stay this good. I mean across the board right now,
we're in just you know, pigging poop right now territory
or I mean, I it's the same time. It's one
of those things where like, gosh, are we gonna get
new in the next month of the songs to coming back?
I mean, we're just everything right now is going our

(32:05):
way at camp.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Yeah, possibly stay this good, though.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
No, it probably won't.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
I am I'm still I'm still waiting for the Seahawks
to beat a really good football team. I'm still waiting
for that to happen. We have not seen that yet.
So but we'll get our opportunities. We'll get a couple
with La, you know, we'll get we'll get that opportunity,
hopefully that they'll beat a really good football team.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Hey Jackson, do you hear that?

Speaker 3 (32:27):
What's that?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Dick kirk herb Street joined Ryan Rosillo's podcast this week
and deny that there are any SEC biases.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
In the media and voting in various polls.

Speaker 5 (32:37):
The coaches do a poll, the AP does a poll,
the CFP rankings do a poll. They all must be
guilty of SEC bias, the coaches as well. So basically,
if you're objective, I'm a big I'm went to Ohio State.
I was a captain in Ohio State. You don't think
I want to promote the Big Ten. You think it
makes me happy to sit there and promote good teams.

(33:01):
I would love the SEC to have three teams in
the top twenty five and a Big ten, to have eight,
That would make me happy. But you go by what
you watch the coaches who are actually competing on the field,
they're putting the SEC.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Why is this a thing?

Speaker 5 (33:15):
Like, why don't think it's a thing. It's such bollet No,
it's called watching football.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Texas A and M three, alabamafore Georgia five, Ole, Miss six,
Texas eleven, Oklahoma twelve. I mean, there's five teams right
there in the top thirteen. But but I mean I
agree with them for this year. I do think there
has been SEC biases in the past, yeah, but I
do think this year, outside of Ohio State and Indiana,

(33:42):
I think the SEC just has way better teams.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
You know, they're the.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
SEC third through eighth best team, I think is quite
a bit better than the Big ten third through eighth place.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
And that may be true.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
I mean, obviously the playoff will be the great equals.
I guess the whole the idea they're in the conversation
and I think you kind of brought this up like
this year's sure, but the idea from Kirk that like, oh,
there's no SEC bias. I mean, it's one of those
things where over the course of the last twenty years
from these various poles, we've just anointed the SEC. And
the obvious retaliation of that is, well, gee, why doesn't

(34:17):
the SEC win the national championship every year? Maybe because
they're not the best conference. They just at some years
happen to have the best teams. So it's just it's
this intrinsic bias that over the last number of decades,
everybody coaches, media has put on that conference, and I
don't think it's fully accurate.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
I mean, well, especially seen in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
It's starting to weigh now because the top top teams
over the last few years have been Big ten teams
Ohio State last ye, Michigan and Washington year before that,
even though Washington was technically a Big ten teams that time.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
But those have been to this year's things.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
And this year you could very easily have two Big
ten teams in the National Championship this year if it
goes back. Number one and number two teams are both
Big ten teams, and they're two of the only what
four undefeated teams.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Left nights in college football?

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Hey Jackson, did you hear that?

Speaker 3 (35:06):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Dick?

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Let's go to five. Let's go to five?

Speaker 2 (35:08):
All right?

Speaker 1 (35:08):
Yesterday and ESPN's first take, Chris mad Dog Russo sounded
off on the Dallas Cowboys, saying they have no chance
of making the playoffs. Impleaded to joke Buck to not
talk about Dallas's playoff chances on Monday night football broadcast anyway.

Speaker 13 (35:24):
And I love Buck, He's my pals, So I'm gonna
say this Joe in two weeks, I don't want to
hear about chances that Dallas has to make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
When you have the Raiders game. You know, the next
time we see Dallas.

Speaker 13 (35:35):
At three, five and one, they got the Raiders, the
Eagles that change, the Lions, the five Things, and the
Commanders six ton of vide games in the next eight
and they stay and Joe, I love you, Joe, I
love you, mister buck please in two weeks show.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
This is not well.

Speaker 13 (35:51):
They got a chance to make the playoffs out of.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
The love it.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Oh, I mean, they got Monday Night Ball next week.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
They've got the big game against Philadelphia that'll be the
national game on November twenty third. They've got a They've
got Thanksgiving against Kansas City. They've got Detroit on Thursday
Night football. They've got Minnesota on Sunday. We are gonna
have Jerry Jones's team just rammed down our throats for
the next month and a half, and.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
We're gonna watch them lose, lose and lose. It's gonna
beautiful great, can't wait.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
So all right, the coaches here, we'll talk to them.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
