Speaker 5 (02:44):
What's going on down there?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Not much, you know, just kind of slogging through the
end of the year.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
A lot of.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Long shows, a lot of yeah, a lot of content
to be created, a lot of bowl games, cracking at
the foundation, a lot of opt outs, a lot of
ift ans or butts and what have you. A lot
of strands, a lot of strands out in the old
Dud's head. Yeah, I'm sorry. We didn't see each other
over the weekend. I was in and out with the
la bawl the Yeah, I was a little bit disappointed.

(03:12):
I thought that you would call me, like since the
hotel was like right down the street, from my house. Yeah,
but I saw that you got in late at night
and then like a little bit, you went immediately to
the stadium like it was gonna leave or something. Okay,
there was gonna be anybody there. First of all, we
got in late Friday, which is not a big deal,

(03:33):
got up Saturday morning, had a little breakfast and got
in the uber and drove over there at eleven o'clock
for a show that began at you know, one o'clock,
and had to get set up and get my bearings.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I mean a four hour pregame show.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Yes, we do a four hour pregame show. Correct.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Good who I am on the air for three of
those hours, and then I did sideline as well for
the game. And then then you flew ip it to
Bob Rondau Tony Castracone.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
What happened to the sideline.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
Lady a least Woodward?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:00):
I filled in for her, she had other duties.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Who's the play by Tony.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Cast Tony castra Coni and you know his color man,
Cam Guess? Let me guess this color man, Giuseppe Bona Fello.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
That was the guy he had a year ago.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Hell, all the dogs doing.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
Now it's Cam Cleland. You know Cam, the former tight end.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, yeah, he's the uh he's the color man for
Tony castra Cone on the Husky broadcast.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Cam, you stupid American idiots.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
So perfect, man, God, that is so perfect.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Oh that's the way a radio broadcast should sound, don't
you like? Yes? But well, I used to let people
drink in the booth. You know, he's really used to
get loose. But well, I mean Howard Cosell used to
be drunk. He barfed all over everybody's shoes once.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Monday night football.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
How about Harry carry drinking Budweiser's on the air like
a boss. Shirtless You ever drink on the air, by
the way, you.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
On the radio?

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah yeah, sure all the time. Yeah it's okay for you.
But you know, the guy pushing the buttons.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Can't do it.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I don't care, right, yeah, I got you, just like
the lady says, and marked for death.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
I don't care. I don't care him sell the drugs, okay.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
The stadium business, that's that stadium is I don't know, man,
I told you it sucks.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
It's a monstrosity, is what it is.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
It's ridiculous. Yeah, it's a giant monstrosity.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
It's it's cavernous, it's huge, it's not level, so you
never know where you're going, right, and if you're in
the media and you're not calling the game, you are
made to feel like a very small part of the
flea on the ass of a dog, right right, right, right, Yeah,
it was Uh, it was pretty damn big man.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
And how about this that place.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I mean, the one thing we have, I know, sail
gating and all that, and the experience at Washington is
a great experience for college football and everybody, anybody who
loves college football, everybody should have that experience once of
going to Husky Stadium by the lake. But you kind
of got to cross your fingers and hope that it's

(06:18):
a nice day, right because the weather can get a
little nasty in Seattle. Otherwise it would be the most
accessible city in the world to everybody would want to
be there. Jedfish's family wouldn't be back in Tucson. And anyway,
the point I'm trying to make, all I'm saying is
the one of the things we have going for us

(06:41):
here in southern California is that the weather is almost
never changing. Not Rarey seasonal. I mean, it's a little
chilly outside these days, sixties and fifties, but the sun
is still out every single day, and we should play
outdoor college football and and pro football for that matter.

(07:03):
But both of our pro teams and UCLA are all
going to be under the roof in so far. And
when the Olympics come in twenty twenty eight, and that's
when it's coming right to La twenty twenty eight, they
are going to kick USC out of the coliseum. Yeah,
and the Paralympics are going to be there, so that'll
kick it even further back. So all four teams in town,

(07:26):
all four football entities, SC, UCLA, the Rams, and the
Chargers will all be playing in that monstrosity as you
put it, that indoor cavernous death hood will be in
there for a whole football season.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
It's stupid.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I think you're going to have seventy five percent of
the teams in Yeah. You can literally fly a helicopter
inside that thing and jump out of it and open
a parachute, that's how deep that thing is.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
But you know, look, it was good game. Husky's played well, and.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
I suspect that is probably not that much better than Boise,
but it was just that kind of day.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
They looked a hell of a lot. Matter.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Well, everybody's talking about Jetfish up here now, you know
we we haven't spoken, by the way, since the Sharon
More thing came down, And it actually came down.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
As soon as you and I were done talking last week.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
I was going to call you back and see if
you wanted to hop on and give us a little
take on the Michigan thing, but figured you're too busy
with your own show down there and be bothered again,
so we didn't do it.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
I wish you would have.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Well, now we can talk about it now.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I mean, how about that Sharon Moore, coach of Michigan
out looking for a new guy, apparently Jedfish. There's a
report out that he was on the list, and now
he's off the list because of some some my list
some some something got flagged. Whatever that means. I got
no idea, But uh, what do you make of what's
going on in ann Arbor?

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Man?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Well, first of all, to break into a house and
hold a butter knife to your neck and say you're
going to kill yourself and that person's gonna watch and
all that, and the police being involved and all.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
That's a little bit different.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
But I got to say, just because it was a story,
I thought back into my own life and could think
of at least seven or eight instances just when I
was at USC that coaches were with underlings or people
like that. Of course, this is before the Internet, and

(09:27):
underlings is in people beneath the people that worked in
underage people. No, no, underlings, people that work in the
athletic department and so on and so forth. And you
would sit in meetings and the coach would be like,
we're family, We're all family here, and then it's like, well, coach,
you know, I see your family here at different events,
and then I see you walking around with that soccer

(09:49):
in turn around campus. So that part of it I
wish was more rare. I'm sure you can think of
certain instances in the past being involved with football up
there where this kind of thing has happened.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
And that is the kind of.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Thing that usually blows me away, is that it never
comes out, but everybody knows. And this exploded into the world,
and I got to be honest, I didn't know about it.
I had never heard about it, and all of a sudden,
like a bunch of people that I knew were like, oh, yeah,

(10:26):
I knew about that in September, or yeah I heard
about that over the summer. And it's like, what no
one told me? I mean, I guess my world of
football is so obscure that unless it happens in Fresno,
I don't get a call about it. Well, let me
ask you this, because we went through this with Sark,
by the way, not on the same level. I don't
want to compare what Sark went for. Everybody knew he

(10:47):
was a massive Several people at USC we knew what
was going on with Sark. I never found it, honestly,
and maybe I aired. I never found it my place
to go on the air and report or veal that
type of stuff until it became a newsworthy item. And
it became a newsworthy item when he was at US obviously. Well,

(11:09):
remember there were rumors about Pete Carroll and then one
day Charlie Weiss just came out and said something.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Like he's having an affair. What, yeah, you ever heard that?
Looks up?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
No, yeah, back of the USC thing and Charlie Weiss
was coaching a Notre Dame and he said something about
Pete having an affair, and Pete had a very classy
response and Charlie apologized immediately. But you never want to
be that person that crosses the line it actually says something.
I don't know what Pete was doing or what he

(11:42):
wasn't doing, but they were a long time of rumors
and the only person that ever said anything publicly.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
Look it up, right, was Charlie White. I'll look it up.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
I guess it. I guess totally happened. I guess.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
The question is do you believe it's the media's job
to report what they see?

Speaker 2 (11:57):
It was two thousand and nine, okay, but because a
lot of what we knew about sark frankly was because
of access that we had because we were the flagship station,
like behind the scenes stuff, right that other media did
not have access to because they were not privy to
these moments. Is that my job to report that I
saw Steve Sarkisian drunk on stage in a recruiting banquet.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
No?

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Right, yeah, I mean you can allude to it, but
to act like you have something, You're not going to
have a job for very long if you do that,
because you're given access and you're halfway an employee, and
the line is blurry for you, and unless somebody you
want to give people the benefit of the doubt, unless

(12:42):
their life completely explodes and it becomes a gigantic story.
But I was just as surprised because I mean, I
don't live anywhere near ann Arbor, but the people there's
a lot of people around me that knew that was happening.
And I was very surprised that the depth and breadth
of story and the fact that first of all, no

(13:02):
one bothered to tell.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Me, and second of all they should tell you.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
No. I mean, I'm not the title to it, but
it's just I was surprised how many people were like, oh, yeah,
I knew that, and that would that you know, not
that he was going to go hold a butter knife
to his head, but you know the other part. Yeah,
well you know and the and the and the Jedfish angle.
You look, I mean, he's he's on the list, or
he was on the list. Uh, he's never lasted anywhere long.

(13:26):
I've said, just remember that, of course, I And that's
why it's a topic. I've said on this show that
I do think that Michigan would have to go pretty
far down the list before they would offer it to Jed.
And we had a guy on yesterday, our buddy Rico
Beard from Detroit, who had the great line. He said
that Jed is like the backup prom date at Michigan
that if everything else falls through, call Jed and you

(13:48):
know he'll take the gig.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
But I guess he's off the list now.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
So well, they're going to try to hold together their
football empire with money, which is what they have anyway,
and try to hold together their recruiting classes and all
that different and stuff and say that this guy was
a figurehead or whatever. We're going to hire somebody else
and control the program from above. But they need a
new athletic director too, right, yes, yes, and a president well, no,

(14:12):
a president right now. Ward manuals the ad. But the
theory is that they're not going to hire anybody until
this investigation is over because they don't even know if
they're gonna let Ward Manual make the hire. Well, I
hope it was worth that Harbaugh championship. I'm sure many
people will say that it was. I would we would
you say it was?

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Sure? I guess yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
They beat Ohio State all those years. I'm seeing I'm
seeing USC, I was the only person that didn't know. Yeah,
somebody else knew about it. I'm sensing that you don't
headed white girl will take down a coach any day.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
You're saying that happen. You're saying that you didn't know,
and everybody else did know.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Everybody else seemed to know. I guess you're not in
the know. How about I don't know. I don't know
why you would talk to me. How about USC announcing
that they're resigning players now it's a new nil Dal said, I've.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Seen a lot of this.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
If you follow teams on Instagram or whatever on Twitter,
they announce the re signing of players now, like this
guy's coming back, because I guess numerically, it's just as
likely that a guy will come back that he will leave.
So if somebody's coming back, it's always a question is
that guy coming back to school? Somebody's got to pay him.

(15:23):
And one of the words that you hear these coaches
saying these days that we never used to say because
it didn't exist in college football was retention. Right that
retention is a much bigger part of the transfer portal
than most people because everybody likes what's new, and something
that's coming that they haven't seen before. But retention, keeping

(15:43):
people in your program speaking the same language developed by
the same coaches, ideally is a much bigger deal. So
I guess it's a good thing. But yeah, the announcements
are kind of tiresome. Yeah, well, speaking to Pete, he's
really struggling man down in Vegas. Yeah, yeah, he's having
a hard time. Gonna make him fire his son? Or

(16:03):
do you think me that even Pete Carroll might get fired?
Soft yet I heard that Pete Carroll might get fired.
I would that would be twice now in like three years.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
How about that?

Speaker 3 (16:13):
That's not great?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
How about somebody actually asking him that question if he
thought he was coaching for his job.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
When was the last time he heard.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
A question like that?

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Ask yourself this, I was having a rougher time Belichick
or Carroll? Oh boy, probably Pete. To be honest with you,
what are you banging back there? Well, Matt just came
in every five signed my radio my radio partner. Very

(16:44):
stop smacking the wall for crying out.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
My radio partner just comes in and well he didn't
even say hi to us.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
God, who do you think is having a tougher time,
they'll Billy your peaty.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
I mean, I didn't have to go to the adult
cheerleader competition, and neither did Pete, but Bill did.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
So is that a bad thing for Billy? That's a
little weird.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
You think he'd quit knowing Pete? You think he'd just
say this is not working and I'm gonna just be done.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
No, I don't think he'd do that. I don't think
he'd quit. He'll wait till they fire him. But if
for any other reason other than contractually, it's probably the
smartest thing to do, and he might have to fire
Brennan Carroll, the old line coach. Yeah, you think he'd
whack his son. It wouldn't be the first time. Really,
didn't he whack him up there?

Speaker 3 (17:30):
I don't know. I don't remember that him in Seattle.
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Whatever, dude, I know everything, I don't know anything. No,
I'm like you, Nobody tells me anything.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
I didn't know about the Michigan But you see, I.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Had no idea that Charlie Weis said.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
I do this since the summer? Did he really?

Speaker 5 (17:51):
I didn't see that.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Yeah he did.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
That's that's kind of Wow.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
It wasn't my place to say, but I knew he
was planting his seed.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
Yeah, we was plowing that field.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
No, not in somebody words, that'd be pretty damn but
oh god, okay, all right, we gotta get out of here.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
All right, Well you have a great night.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Yeah, anything else you want to offer you done?

Speaker 3 (18:17):
No, I'm done.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Okay, good stuff, good luck with fish Petrous Papin okuss

Speaker 5 (19:33):

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Has moved at three dollars since three o'clock, still in
the window, still on the five dollars window, right, So
just get the venue Kings dot com text us that
get in price right now at four nine four five
one first and last name, your email, and how much
it costs to get into the game tomorrow at Venue Kings.
We got some breaking news from Husky Land. Here we go,

(19:56):
dum raiding vines. Bright is in the transfer portal. You
were waiting for Jetfish, weren't you. Rape Bright is in
the transfer portal, Man, Look, I don't think there's any
reason to flip out about it. I mean, obviously, he's
a freshman wide receiver that was starting the opener, and
I think that Jedfish did a good job of hyping

(20:16):
him up, had a great spring game, and then obviously
Jedfish decides to start him as a true freshman in
the first game of the year.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Never really got going this year, obviously.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
I mean it was desro Buck and Denzel Boston and
then a big drop after those two guys this season.
So clearly the Huskies will go out and they'll make
some inroads in recruiting in the portal, like this kid
from San Jose State, this Scootero guy that's in the
portal that everybody's gonna want.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
It's gonna cost him a lot of money to get
that guy.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
And by the way, I still have a hard time
saying that because that would have gotten me arrested outside
the building by the FBI.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
A problem with it. I feel weird.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
Really, it's weird.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Totally rolls off my tongue now, like signing and contracts
and all that sort of stuff.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Not me. I'm a little flow to the party. It's
still weird for me to say that it's going to
cost the Huskies a lot of money. To get this
guy from San Jose States. Like when the when USC
went online yesterday and announced they were re signing four
players to come back next year, it's still weird to me.
So I don't know, maybe by this time and a
year from now, two three years from now, it's not
gonna be weird, but for me it is weird. But yeah,

(21:19):
I mean, I don't like losing Raydon vines Bright. I
think Raydon vines Bright has a lot of talent. I
think a year or two in the system with Jed
Fish and Demon Williams and he might turn into a
pretty damn good player. And let's face it, guys, we've
seen wide receivers leave Washington and leave other schools period
and explode. And the best example of that, the most

(21:39):
extreme example of that, obviously, who is the guy that
will see Tomorrow night with the Rams. When Puka Nakua
left you, dub, did you ever think he would turn
into what he is? But I really like, yes, but
you never thought this? No stud college, right, but nobody
ever thought he'd be a top five receiver in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Guys, unbelievable, even at BYU, he wasn't that great, right.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
Amazing well, I mean when it comes to ratten By Bright,
he's probably the I'm probably the most disappointed, I mean
disappointed from one to ten, like ten would be demand
Williams leaving.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
Right, I'm a one on.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Most of these guys that have left so far, I'm
like a three on Raydon vines Bright. But then I
look at the I look at this recruiting class. Raydon
vines Bright, if he were in this year's recruiting class,
right would have been the fourth best receiver that Jedfish
got it right, fourth best.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
But the problem is those are all freshmen who have nothing.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
I want veteran guys. I want guys with experience, but
I would imagine they'll bring at least well, of course,
if not two or three. I mean, hell they am
I bring four? I have no idea, but they're going
to bring some guys in. I mean, Des Robot right
now is your number one guy. And look, you know
Boston's leaving. I'm pretty convinced of it that he's not
coming back, that he's going to the NFL. I don't

(22:57):
think anybody's gonna dispute that the guy walked at Oregon,
for God's sake, so I think he's done, you know,
but to have des robut come back and then who
knows what at wide receiver for today, and then today
doesn't really matter because it's December seventeenth. For today, it's
a little bit of a kind of hole on their roster.
But the good news is they got ten months to

(23:17):
fill it until the Apple Cup next year. So I
kind of feel like in college football recruiting and college
football transfer portal conversation, it's almost like the baseball regular season. Dude,
Like how I always say, play the first three months
behind a curtain and wake me up on the first
of July and tell me where all the teams are.
Instead of reacting to every little move made by a

(23:38):
football team in college football and every player entering the portal,
why don't you just do it all behind closed doors.
Wake me up on the first day of spring football
and let me tell you what the team looks like.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
I'm totally with Kim.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Can I Can I expand that for you?

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Tell me what the team looks like?

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Can I expand that to Hot Stove League and Seahawks
free agency?

Speaker 5 (23:59):
Can I do that as well?

Speaker 4 (24:00):
Because nobody freaks out like Mariner fans and Seahawk fans
if we lose a kind of free agency in the offseason, Yeah,
we got plenty of stuff.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
There's other stuff to do besides college football recruiting. Now,
I'm just saying that this is a new era we
live in where the idea of losing a lot of
players and then gaining a lot of players is the
new commonplace in college football, right. I mean, you're bringing
in twenty new guys from high school every single year,
and you might be bringing in thirty five forty new

(24:31):
players overall every single season. You can almost argue that
like forty five percent of your roster from year to
year is going to turn over. It's unbelievable how much
movement there is in college football.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
I don't like it. I hate it.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
I hate the lack of loyalty from both sides, the
coaches and the players. The people that are being asked
to be the most loyal in college football, you know
who they are. It's us, the fans. We're the ones
that are being asked to pay more, pay more, pay more,
pay more. Invest invest invest, invest invest, Yet nobody wants

(25:05):
to stay there and make us feel like our investments
are actually being appreciated because these guys are taking off
every flipping year, our players and coach.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
Our investments are sound old.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
By the way, Yes, okay, I'm just gonna let you
finish and then all I'm good, Okay, I'm good.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
It's the last the last couple of minutes.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
I like, just let you go.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
I would say our investments are appreciated if they win.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
Period.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
I don't care who's playing for the Huskies. Of course,
I do not care what the name of the Husky
quarterback is, left tackle, wide receiver.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
I want them to win. I want them to go
to the college football playoffs.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
I don't care if they have a ninety nine percent
different roster next year than they do this year. I
am totally over that because that is pre nil and
I cannot think about being a pre nil fan.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
And Demon Williams is gone, and Ky Horton has been
given a fifth year by the NCAA, and he's your quarterback.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Of course you care who the quarterback is, David, of
course you care. You completely miss what I just. The
first thing I totally understanding is going to the college
fall playoff. Ki Horton is not going to take us
to the cause That's my point is that you should
care who the players are, because the better player you have,
the more you have a shot to of course, if
Demon Williams takes off, you should be pissed that Demon

(26:22):
Williams takes What I'm saying is, if Demon's Williams takes off,
as long as I get a replacement that is as
good or better than Demon Williams, I don't care who's
playing quarterback.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
But I think again, Dick, the idea that you can
just get a replacement that's as good or better.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Of course, I think that's asking a lot. For someone
like de Mont Williams, it is. But for someone like Rightnesbright, No,
for sure, it's probably a little bit.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Sure, absolutely, but you understand my point. I'm talking about
big picture. I'm not talking about.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Specific I understand you it's it's not about the name,
it's about the laundry. I totally understand that it's about
on these.

Speaker 5 (26:57):
Not who's in the helmet. I also think that that
is your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I also think there's a lot of fans out there
that still appreciate being able to rally and fall in
love with players. Individual players are coming to an end.
But I don't think we should just dismiss that portion
of the fan base.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Right, But don't you think that's the portion of the
fan base that needs to adjust to twenty twenty five
college Yeah?

Speaker 2 (27:24):
I think they can do whatever the hell they want,
and if they don't want to be a fan, then
that's their prerogative. And I worry that college football risks
losing people like that. Frankly, that's kind of who I am.
I don't I didn't go to you, Dubb. I don't
have this affinity towards them like you guys do. I
get drawn to players like Michael Pennix and Roma Dunza,
you know what I mean, And then when all those
guys leave, it's it's hard to kind of and have

(27:45):
started to get that with Demond Williams now, like you're saying,
if you were to leave, it's it's harder for me to.
I think it's easier in football than in basketball because
in basketball, one or two guys can make such a
big difference on the court. But look, Dick, I understand
what you're saying that all you want to do is
win and you don't care who the players are. I
think there's a lot of logic in that. I also
think there's a lot of logic. And a fan telling
me that, Man, I was looking forward to seeing Raiden's

(28:08):
wein Bright develop, I was looking forward to seeing Desmond
Roebuck becoming a star. I was looking forward to seeing
Jordan Washington explode and be a Doak Walker Award candidate
for next year. And man, I really enjoy watching that
guy play.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
And now what do we do?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Now we get to sit here for a few months
and wonder what the hell is going on? Dude, the
NFL has more loyalty than college football does.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
That's weird because they're forced to.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
It's well because the rules say they have to.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Yes, because there's a collective bargaining agreement.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Yes, let's as players sign for contracts. I believe will
happen eventually, and probably shorter term that longer term.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
I hope you're right. I hope you're right. I don't
like all the movement. I really don't.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
I love the fact that players are getting a piece
of the pie, but this movement around college football and
players just taking off and doing whatever the hell they
damn well please. And I guess, look, man, blame the
coaches right blame because coaches have been doing this for
decades in college football, and now the players are doing
the same thing. And we always said it's okay for

(29:08):
coaches because there's only one coach per team and not
eighty five scholarship players. But every year when you got
forty new guys on a football team, I think for
a lot of fans it's it's difficult. And I do
think it's easier for coaches to win games when they
have players that have played together, right, when they got
guys that know the system, When they have a wide
receiver and a quarterback on the same page, an offensive

(29:30):
line that's on the same page, it absolutely makes the
coaches job easier when he doesn't have to retrain the
entire roster come spring ball. We're gonna break textimonials Kevin
Harlan coming up at five news in the NBA, and
we'll get to that at five point thirty right here
on ninety three to three KJARFM.
