Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's daily highlight from Elvis Duran in the morning show show.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
So we were on a plane flying home during the eclipse,
so we didn't we didn't see anything. Yeah, we've tried,
but you know, everyone was texting pictures. So I was
on the plane watching the photos as they were coming in.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
He did tell us to open the window and not look.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
The pilots had opened your window. There's an eclipse going on.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
He was like, underneath us is the eclipse. I don't
know if your windows open or closed, but if you
open your window, you really shouldn't look. Like, why everyone's
gonna look.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Then he's like, if you notice it's darker outside, and
it's oh, you probably shouldn't look. What the Okay?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
And there there's Andrew with this camera outside the window.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Flash flash, flash, flash using flash. Yeah, he's usually a
flash in a window. I know that's reflecting the flash.
Oh Andrew, what are you doing? I'm telling you, And
I'm guilty of this too. Once my foot steps into
an airport and I get on a plane then off
the plane out of the airport, during that segment of time,
(01:04):
my IQ level goes way down. Yeah, and I know
that everyone else does too. Don't you get a little
stupid in the airport and on airplane, we were having
that conversation where they insecurityre like, okay, Sarah, you can
come and what I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I could never find out where to put my headphones in,
and so Andrew was.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Like, it's right here, Oh where is this headphone? Yeah,
let's get into that eclipse thing from me yesterday. Hi Erica.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh well, Elvis and friends.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
So Erica is calling from Erie, Pennsylvania, the home of
course straight Nate, but also in the path of the eclipse.
So you had front row seating. How was your experience, Erica.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
It was amazing. I was with my parents, my best girlfriend,
and my husband and my dog, who of course we
kept them inside. We were on their deck and just
when the fatality came, like Nate said, the clouds parted.
We had a gorgeous view, like even to the point
where the total eclipse the Heart uh you know song,
(02:05):
when we played it like it ended and I got
to restart the song, it was so long.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Wait hold on, You played totally Eclipse of the Heart
while the eclipse was going on.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yes, we did that during the eclipse and then before
the eclipse we pre gained by bedeweling our glasses.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Did you play this dance version of Total Eclips of
the Heart because we don't have the slow one? That's
Nikki French. Oh see this is this is kind of
the bootleg version. I can't see watching the eclipse of
the dance version?
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Scary.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Don't you have the original? Yeah, go into the light
FM file. This must have made for must have made
for a very festive party on the deck, so you
got to having cocktails play this. I was so sorry
(03:04):
for that guy in the background because all these things
is cut her up, brought us. So did you follow
the proper protocol and not fry your retinas? You were
the glasses?
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Well I did. But then in the middle of this,
I will over to my loving family and I had
to remind them, what are your people doing?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Wow? To be an optometrist in Erie, Pennsylvania today? Who
was it that you're optometry back in the day? He
was going to like the three they had three? Well, Erica,
thank you for sharing. I'm glad at least you save
your retinas and you put on the proper eyewear.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Well, yeah, I look forward to seeing you guys later.
This going to New York City.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Oh, come on into the city. You know, we're always
wherever you are in the New York City area, we
are there too.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Okay, take the fifteen dollars, So thank you so much, guys.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
We'll see you then. What was your observation scary?
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Well, watching all the television news recaps. They each spent
about ten to fifteen minutes worth of their news broadcasts
on coverage from all over and it was just so nice.
I got this warm and fuzzy feeling to see everybody
come together for some good news. And it was it
was like I brought everyone together, and I'm like, and
then after the commercial break back.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
To I know exactly, back to being our sad selves.
But that was kind of a cool thing in the
city of how many million people, It was a group,
a group activity. Geo Benitez, our good friend over at ABC,
he actually got emotional.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Oh, Lindcy, I'm sorry. I'm thinking about all of the
hardships that we cover at ABC News, because that's what
happens in journalism, is that we go and we tell
these stories, and so many of those stories are people
who are living through their toughest times, and here everyone
is together nobody is divided. Everyone is unified and looking
(04:59):
up at the sky together there and seeing that we
really are this small on this planet. And I like
to tell people. They say, you know, do you want
to go into space? And I say, wait a minute.
We are on the best spaceship possible right here, and
we could see you out through it with what an
incredible window we have out of this spaceship Earth.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
We love you.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Eyes.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
He is right. You know, when you're out on the beat,
you know, working for Network News, you're out there covering
things that are just emotionally you know whatever. Yeah, strange
am I looking at I'm out of my mind. You
cover all these things that can really bring you down
at the end of the day. So he said they're
doing something kind of fun.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
That was nice. He really did affect him that way.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
That was nice. He's a very very really sweet guy.
He is love you. I didn't mean to pike fun
of you with totally clips of the heart. What's that foggy?
Speaker 6 (05:58):
I saw? Another guy was I think was on ABC.
He was talking to Robin Roberts and his mother was
in Mexico and he could he hadn't seen his mom
in some time and then he was getting emotional. How
he and his mom were able to focus and look
at the same thing on that day, and he started
getting emotional as well. So it really did bring people
together all across the all across the cottony yesterday.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
All right, that's nice.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
So I guess we should have taken it more seriously. No,
that's not what we do. They're in seat four A. Yeah,
drink it on my a, my really bad wine.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
You weren't in the back of the plane.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I made money at the blackjack table. Yeah, you're and
everyone else out of it.
