Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
We missed you so much Gandhi past couple of days,
and I was asking him, like, where's Gondi.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Whe's Gondhi? Gandhi. We'll be back. We promise She'll be okay,
she's good. Is she sick? No, she's doing well. I mean,
do you want to tell everyone what you're up to?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, I was interviewing for a new job. It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Help you use me as a reference? I did. I
put you all down. I take Nate with you. Please.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
They said the only condition of you getting hired was
Nate not coming.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
That's the third rejection, Nate.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
No, seriously. So first of all, thank you guys for
letting me take the time like always. But I've had
it's just been a patch of family medical things. So
you know, I was gone for a couple of days
because my sister had a brain surgery and then my
mom had a little heart procedure the other day that
was supposed to be pretty simple and routine. So I
came down here just because you want to be with
your parents when they're going through things like that. And

(01:02):
when we came home from the hospital, Initially they said
they wanted her to stay overnight, but then they said, oh,
it went so well, she can go home. And then
as soon as we got home, some of the things
that they said to look out for started happening. So
I panicked and was freaked out. We went back to
the hospital and then we were there for a while,
and it turns out that a big part of what
we were seeing because they say look for redness and swelling,
was an allergy to the adhesive that they used for

(01:24):
the bandaging over the incision.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
So yeah, I was concerned that there was something happening
under the skin. Thankfully, it all seemed to be over
the skin and they re wrapped it and she's doing
really well. So I'm back and I will be back
in the studio on Monday.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Thank god. That's the thing.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
You know, every time you go to a doctor's office
or for go in for any procedure, they say, well, hey,
tell us, now you're allergic to what I'm allergic to?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Nothing. And I'm sure maybe you said the same thing
for your mom.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
You didn't know she's allergic to that specific adhesive that's
on a piece of tape, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
He did not now we know, and I told her,
you know, going forward, now you have to remember to
tell them that this is some thing that bothers you.
And I was actually talking to Sam about it, and
she said the exact same thing happened to her mom
when she had a knee surgery. So I was like, oh,
maybe this is like a thing that we should pay
attention to.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Well, you know that I was telling Ghani, this happened
to my friend with something else. She was getting a
breast surgery and it was taking a lot longer than
we thought, and we didn't understand what was happening. She
was allergic to the latex gloves that they were using
during the surgery, and she had no idea that she was.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, latex allergies are not that uncommon. Don't ask me
how I know that.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Nate Okay thought, Yeah, last year, to Gandhi's point, always
trying to be there, you know, for your especially your
parents if they're having something done. Because last year I
went and you know, my mom had some surgery and
I went there and I arrived as she was in surgery,
and then you know, go up to the room when

(02:54):
she's coming out of anesthesia. And so I was there
when she came out of it. And then at Christmas time,
we were talking about our favorite memories of the year
and came to my mom's turn and she goes, my
favorite memory of the year was you standing there when
I came out of anesthesia.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Oh sweet.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
So always try and be there, you know, especially for
your parents as they get older.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
You know, they you kind of switch rolls and you're
taking care of them.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
So, yeah, you know what, I want you to be
there every time I come out of nsthesis from now,
I really do not being serious, I mean totally serious
about that.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
There's been a lot of times we almost had to
put you in surgery. Remember that time you passed out.
You're like, just raise my legs and put the microphone
by my face. You're passing out. Remember when was that?

Speaker 5 (03:39):
You're the doctor told you to crush up your blood
pressure medication.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, after I had my stomach surgery.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yes, your pulse is like four.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
My doctors almost killed me because they were They told
him they totally missed step on my medication.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I was on. This was a trooper. He's like, okay,
I'm gonna laid down. Can you can you move the
microphone in my face. I'm like, I was on the floor.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I said, bring the microphone to the floor and I'll
do the show, like, hey, comebu to everybody.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
What it was.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
You know, I have blood pressure medicine, but it's it's
it's time released these pills. So you take a pill
and it releases, you know, the medication throughout the day.
So it's slowly, but sure, definitely, for sure it takes
care of your blood pressure and keeps it constant.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Well, they said, well, because of this.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Operation, you had your little a little holy in your
throat where pills go through. It is too small, so
you need to crush up your medication. So I was
crushing up medication. There was supposed to be time released,
so I was getting my full day's dose of blood
pressure medicine at once. I was fainting all over the place.
We were at Zoo Miami. We were in a golf

(04:51):
cart because Uncle Johnny was with us and he couldn't walk,
and it was Alex and me and Uncle Johnny and
I passed out in the golf cart. I was looking
up and I saw a giraffe and I and I
just I was like Elvis, Elvis are you okay.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I'm like, oh god. So if you work it at
Zoo Miami, you know exactly. It was the talk of
the zoo.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Oh my goodness, that's good.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Crazy the doctors, they could have killed me. Thank you doctors.
But your mom is doing well. That's all that matters.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
She is doing very well.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
She was up and at it, and both of my
parents are harassing me like they normally would.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
So that's great, that's perfect.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yes, yes, take it harassment. Is it full full time?
Oh my god,
