Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Interesting story going on upstate New York in I believe Whitehall,
New York. And someone texted this to us. This is
Whitehall is a town I think about sixty seventy miles
north of Albany, New York. Okay. So in the Times
Union newspaper, which is online Times Union dot com, the
headline is in Whitehall officials hope a beaver clogged the
water system. I'm like, oh my god, I knew I

(00:28):
had heard that Whitehall is without water. They've been without
water for their citizens since I believe Sunday, no tap
water at all because apparently the water they just don't
have enough water in the system to feed the town
the water it needs. So but according to this headline,
someone thought a beaver clogged the intake or something. There's
a beaver, a roe, a rogue beaver.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
That's so funny to me.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Beaver's the funniest animals. Well, yeah, of course they bring
all sorts of I hate when my bees, I know.
But Froggy Froggy loved the part of the story. He
was asking, well, did they send a diver in to
dive looking for beaver. Was there a beaver diver? Do
you have to look for them? Well, no, but they

(01:15):
have to go into I think it's Pine Lake. They
have to go into the lake to figure out what's
clogging the system. They think maybe a beaver. But I
read the whole story. There's no one mention of a
beaver in the entire story, just the just the headline.
It grabbed me. Bait and switch, the beaver. Bait and
switch is what they did. I thought bea diving was
all the rage. I thought so too. I was hoping

(01:36):
it would be part of the story. Anyway. So if
you know anyone or are you listening to us up
there in near white Hall, we're thinking about you because
being without water is a major, major issue and it's
not to be laughed at. But if there is a beaver,
and then get out, get out of beaver? Yeah, Ams
Gray beaver Bay. Okay, what do you want to do?

(02:00):
We have a game to play today. Do you want
to play something fun? Should we give a feud? We
have a game. Do you have a fun game? We
can save the game for another day and do a
feud for sure. Well, what what are you teasing me for?

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Well?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
What's going on? You have a game? I do. Today's
International Animal Rights Day, So I have a game with songs.
I have animals in the title God, any song in there?
Any song in there with the named beaver in the title?
There wasn't when I have time to go fix that? Okay.
Are there any famous songs that include the word beaver?

Speaker 3 (02:34):

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Why? Known as Big Brown Beaver by Primus, famous song.
That's a famous song. What Gary, you are a genius?
That is true? Famous when we played on this radio. Yeah,
I know. Known as Big Brown Beaver was a big song.

Speaker 3 (02:55):

hear the entire cut of went on this Big Beaver, Nate?
Do you know this one's The Bull and the Beaver
by Merle Haggard. Oh, that's a great it's a country song.
You played them in your station Frog. No, we haven't
gotten to that yet. Maybe we were all there as
a throwback. Do we have Do we have Banana's Big
Brown Beaver in the computer?

Speaker 3 (03:15):

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But I could download it from our libry master. Library.
Do you really want to go to the trouble. I
don't think we're going to play the whole thing. Maybe
just play it off your phone's play lyrics. We'll find it.
We'll find it, dude, there's a lot. There's twenty two
songs here with the word beaver and what what is
Someone on line nineteen? Yeah, who's Ashley? Get around here

(03:39):

the kids.

Well, good morning, And you heard us talking about Beaver's
you have a story to share.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
I do, In fact, so I my family and I
we love going ten camping, and we went ten camping
at fair Haven State Park last summer. It's on the
south shore of that big lake Lake Ontario. Okay, anyways
it is. It was very nice. So we put the
kids to bed, right and my my honey and I

(04:13):
are sitting out at the fire and we hear this
loud slapping sound and honestly, I'm gonna be honest with you,
we thought that the neighbors were getting it.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
On, Like wow, I heard some clapping, we.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Heard some flapping, and it went on and on and on.
I looked at him and I'm like, oh, my Lance,
I hope she's okay, Like that's that's a lot, that's
a long time, and then like it finally stopped and
we're like okay. So I went to bed, he went
to bed. In the morning, I woke up and we
heard it again. I'm like, you gotta be kidding me, Like,
is this Are we going to listen to this all weekend?

(04:46):
So then I went I went to go fishing, and
I went because we were right on the water, at
the edge of the water, and I got down a
little ways and I threw my line in and all
of a sudden, I heard this big hiss and I
looked and there was this big, old, angry beaver star
me straight in the face, and he started slapping his
tail on the water, and I.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Was like, oh my gosh, there's nothing better than a big, old, angry, hissing,
clapping beaver.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
He was so it was the beaver. It was the
beaver all along. We really do need a beaver song.
That's a good name for the band. Slapping Beaver. Oh, Ashley,

(05:43):
that's my favorite song, my favorite story of the day.
Let's here for Ashley. By the way, I love it.
Next time you hear a clapping, slapping beaver, let us
know we want to hear all about it. All right, well,
well all right, thank you so much, have a great day.
