Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's a podcast called twenty five wists stocking and they
got war a whist So.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah, it's too bad, But what did you expect?
Speaker 1 (00:13):
It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles, twenty wine, what's up?
And condolenceys to Eddie, Sorry buddy and my bet.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, well not only me, man. I told my son
I'd give him fifty dollars if we won.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Oh so now you're gonna make your son the loser
because the Timberwolves.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Well he was like, dang, dad, we lost.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I did think that they would put up more of
a fight last night.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
It felt like they quit. Yeah, I mean when you're
down thirty points of the half, but I feel like
they quit before that, Like I feel like they quit clawing.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
They got to within like fifteen or so in the
fourth quarter, and then I didn't.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
It just was never a game. My theory is when
it's that like bad, you know, it's like, well, if
they scored thirty on you the first half, you can
do that to them the second half. But it doesn't
really work that way. You need stops, good logic when
you're not stopping them, dude, it never got What did
they end at? Twenty two? Twenty two. What was the
spread at the very end of the game.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Oh, I don't know, I know it's four and a half.
When it started, it was a tighter game when they
put the bench in. It was Minnesota minus four and
a half. I saw when it started and they ended
up losing by Yeah. Yeah, so sorry you lost your bet.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Twenty one yeah one, twenty four one three.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
I did bet Dallas to win the NBA Championship during
this series. It was no crazy awesome, but I thought Dallas,
I'll be I think I was the only who thought
Dllas could win the series. Yeah yeah, but mostly I
just wanted to go opposite of you guys more than
what I knew. It's not very nice kind of my style. Yeah,
but it's gonna be a fun series. Kevin is a
(01:47):
big Boston Celtics fan. Congratulation, He'll be speaking from a
place of bias, sure, and we will purposefully probably root
for Dallas just because he's doing for Boston, but just
not but we don't want you to lose. We just
don't want to hear it. Why because our teams don't win.
I know, but I know I'm not saying it's healthy.
(02:07):
I know, and I'll be eighteen percent happy for you
if they went out, like genuinely like, congrats to Kevin,
but a little bit the miserable part of me wants
Dallas to win just so everybody else can stay miserable.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Well, and part of me too is I've never rooted
for the Celtics ever in my life.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
You're keeps the Spurs.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I'm a Spurs fan. Yeah, but but i mean, even
like you have to win that long time ago. Sure
we had our moments there, big moment, but like, never
have I ever rooted for the Celtics. So who are
you rooting for? Dallas or Boston? Said that?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Even with Kevin, who's a dear friend and co worker,
who are you rooting for?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
I mean, I'm a Cowboys fan, man, that doesn't I'm
a Cowboys fan. The neighbors.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah, but don't you kind of hate nowas I like
the Mavericks a little bit, San Antonio Mavericks.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
It's a thing I've never liked Dallas Mavericks. I never
liked the Mavericks.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Here a both sides of your mouth.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
So is it Alice's cousin or is it a team
you hate because it's the basketball rivals.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
It's definitely a basketball rival. I mean, I've just never
I've always been a Spurs fan from the very beginning,
so I've never once thought of, you know, the Mavericks
as a team I root for.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
But are they the real rival of Spurs. I feel
like they are. I feel like you don't like them because.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
They're close to They're both they're both in the West
and natural rival and even like when the Spurs were
on top, you know MAVs where it is like Dirk
Dirk time and Steve nashtime, like, yeah, that was rivalry
for sure, and then it became the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
But you hate the Mavericks. I feel like you just
don't like him a little bit.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
And I'm telling you now, dude, I'm starting to hate Luca.
I'm starting to hate yeah so much.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
But I hate him so much, I'm trying to love
him again. Like when he yelled f you to the fan,
like who's crying now?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
F you?
Speaker 1 (03:41):
I'm like, that's awesome. I'm glad there's somebody that does that.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Because he doesn't care, Yes, he does not care.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Him and Kyrie are going to get an ear full
at the garden.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
He has come all the way back around on me,
like Luca, he's fun. He's you talked to like this,
that's kind of making us on it.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yeah, Bud, He's like, uh, you know, he does all
these crazy shots. He can, you know, get a bucket
from anywhere, and you like him, and then he just
whinds and winds and he don't like him, and then
he just stays true. He whinds so much, then yells
at people, and then you like, I like him again,
and then he just makes every shot, Like dude, the
beginning of.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
This game he didn't miss.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
He's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Game five he didn't miss.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Yeah, no, he didn't. He's unbelievable. And they've shown they
can close games.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
But also just this game five alone, anything he put
above his head that was a ball winning the hole,
anything that first quarter.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
As soon as the tee Wolves thought they were coming
back into it, he's like, no, not today.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
I didn't have twenty in the first quarter.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, who are you rooting for? Time?
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Eddy?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
You've never rooted for the Celtics. You hate the Mavericks.
Now is your chance to root for the Celtics. This
is your shot.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I just like, so this is root, right, this is
who am I rooting for? Who is going to win?
Who do you want?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Do you want to win?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
I mean, you know, no, just the team answer? Were
don't We're not doing one of these. Well, but because
I don't care about either of these teams.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I'm picking Dallas. So mean, I know I bet on them.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
I bet Kevin.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
He's wearing his Boston He's got the four leaf clover
right now? Is that a three leaf?
Speaker 1 (05:15):
That's okay. Here's the thing about Kevin, and I love
Kevin as a person, but he has like teams from
all over the world. He has like one city, he
has like a soccer team. He's like, I'm a big
Milan fan. And then he's got a college football team,
a big Tennessee fan, a big big Balls fan. He's
got so he just got teams. Sure, he goes to California,
(05:35):
He's like, that's my home. But he is consistent with
the New England, with the Boston teams.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
I hear you. Are you a Bruins fan.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, they're a fourth out of the Boston team. Yes,
they're definitely fourth. I'm not even more of a Preds fan.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
You do you live in Boston?
Speaker 5 (05:51):
No?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
How did you become up too cold there.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
How did you become an overall city of because I'm
a massive Cubs fan, but I'm not a Bears fan.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
I'm not a Bulls fan. It's not a Chicago thing.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
It was specifically that one team was the So how
did you become a whole city of Boston fan?
Speaker 3 (06:05):
If you're not from there.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
My dad is from Rhode Island.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
He can pass it on to you.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
So he grew up loving all these teams, and then
that makes sense. Pass it on to me.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Anything would have been acceptable. But that is the most
acceptable answer. If it was passed down.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
My first Patriots Jersey, we believe you.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Okay, that makes sense, and that is actually the realist answer,
if you'd have just been there both, Like I was
a Patriots fan there winning, so I picked Boston the
Celtics as well. But if your dad, that's awesome, and
I hope you still lose.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
But and that's all they got up there, Rhode Island.
That you got Boston.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
What do you mean by that?
Speaker 3 (06:38):
I mean that's who you pick if you live in
Rhode Island.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Well, New England the Patriots are, Yeah, they try to
make them the whole New England yeah, version colony.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, yeah, like Maine, Vermont, all that.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah, because if that's close to New York too, some
are New York.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
I was gonna say Summer Yankees fans too.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
But you're a Red Sox fan.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh oh a huge red that's number one team.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Oh really?
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Over the Celtics, over the Self, over the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Over the Patriots. Wow, Okay, it goes Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, bruin.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Remember this.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
I thought it would be Patriots for him first, honestly too. Okay,
here's the deal. I would like to see Luca win
a title more than I would like to see any
of the Jays win it, because Luca, if he doesn't
win a title, he will not get the respect, the
all time player respect that he deserves. But he's so
(07:25):
young still, but that's great until you're not young anymore.
He still have won a title, so let's get one
out of the way. It's like Yiannis.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Will he ever one of the title?
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Probably not, but he will always be one of the
greats because he was a great and he won a title.
And I feel like Boston, I get there. The three
J's are going to be there for a while.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yeah, but even there. I mean they're older than Luca now,
and they say they've had their shot, know whether what
a year or two old or whatever it is, they've
had their shot. But all of a sudden, it feels
like all the pressures on them last year or too
because they've been there, they've done it, and it's like
one you're actually gonna get it done.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Ed Who what do you mean, Jason, Jason?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
What do you think the Jays are? When I'm saying that,
you tell me context?
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Jason Tatum? Okay, Jalen Brown? Who's the third ja? What's
the bald dude's name? How about Jason White?
Speaker 2 (08:13):
How about Derek?
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Oh? Derek? Why he's not? Or the last name? Yes?
Oh please stop? George Ingas?
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Oh out?
Speaker 4 (08:27):
No?
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Not al Jeordford, Drew Holiday, got that, that's Drew? Yes, Okay,
they're the Jays.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Cool.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I'm gonna start saying that. Man, does ABO call him that?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I mean they called Tatum and Brown the Jays? Yet?
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Oh? I put Drew?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
I mean year there, he's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Okay, and I need to answer. We're moving off to
just let's just go Celtics. Nice Celtics.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
A boy, I got do gear for you if you want.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Yeah, I got a shirt.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Wow. Personally, I feel like that's that's better for me,
betting when he picks the Celtics.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Right, because every time I pick your team, we lose. Right, Yeah,
so the Celtics, I think, yeah, yeah, exactly exactly. But
you know what you're talking about, Like he's come around
on me. Who's kind of coming around a little bit?
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Is uh?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Is Kyrie? Like he's from one of the most I
don't know, I would say hated, but a lot of
people didn't.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Controversial, controversial, yes, but do you know why he's coming around.
He's just not saying anything, but he is.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Saying and when he talks, it's very nice and it's
very like, no, it's not me and Luca, it's everyone else,
and fair enough.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
He does give.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Very generically nice press conferences.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Yeah, but when you're used to him saying controversial things
or doing things like stomping on the yes leprechaun.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Oh intent, since he did that, by the way.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
And really doing he's not really making it about himself.
Is that the curse of the Leprechaun?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah, you can't stomp on the leprechaun?
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Well, did you like, hye, when to play for you guys.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Yeah, yeah, I've always liked and Duke dated. I just
thought he's phenomenal. But he just for years puts his
own mouth in his foot, and you're just like, dude,
just shit, that's a weird way.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
To say it.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
His own foot in his mouth probably.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Would Yeah, the long reach, what are the odds.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
We know the odds.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
I can pull him up right now.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
So here we go. Game one.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Boston is a six and a half point favorite. Dude,
it's in Boston. I don't know if I can bet anymore.
I feel like I don't know anything in the NBA anymore. Nothing.
I've lost so much money betting on NBA the last month.
I just I don't know what to do anymore.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Well, the Tea Wolves just kind of threw everything off
because you're like to have all the momentum. They beat
the Nuggets.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Here we go, and everybody was like, te Wolves are
easily gonna win this. That's the only reason I picked Oallas. Yeah,
because not because I really I didn't know both those
teams were playing well. But it's usually in the NFL,
especially when you know if somebody's gonna for sure beat
somebody that they sneak up and get you a lot
of the times.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Well, and then the idea too, like gosh, there's such
a long break before the final start, like the NBA
doesn't want that. We're gonna go at least six games.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
So the Celtics are at minus two ten, so pretty
good fit for the series. So if you bet twenty bucks,
you make thirty.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Dude, Dallas is the best.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Then no, don't you can't change no, because no, no, no,
I'm not you can't. I'm not rooting for but you
can't run for the and go well, but I knew Dallas.
I was just rooting for Boston.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
That's the cheater. Honestly, I do not care about these
two teams. I do not care about them.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
But can we set it now where Eddie cannot for
the next couple of weeks he can't say like, oh yeah,
it's still one last.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
It was a team that you think will win. I
think that the Mavericks will sneak you win if they can.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
He just changed and he did it. If he said
I think they will, they can't pay if because.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Then you can come back and go. But I'm not
rooting for him. I'm rooting for the second. Let's go sell.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
You're doing both pock the.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Cop baby, pop the cord.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
And picked both teams. And this is so annoying.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Okay, let's go and do the tittle tattle. Speaking of Eddie.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Over here fallowing his injury last week, what's the worst
injury you've had while playing a sport?
Speaker 1 (12:10):
The most painful was probably a broke a couple of
broken rib one broken rib, one crack rib, just because
and it was kind of like your foot where you
could do nothing about it. Nothing with a rib, you
can do nothing about it, and it just it wou
even hurt to breathe.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Dude, you or sneeze. I'm sure I don't. I don't
have my journal. Oh yeah, you remember that because you're like,
got you? Oh god, I'm sure. I'm sure.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
I broke a rib, cracked a rib playing high school football.
That's probably the most painful because even if you weren't
doing anything, it's still hurts just breathing.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
That sucked.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Broken a couple of fingers, of course, that is annoying
and it hurts. I mean, messing out my shoulder, Tama Rotta, that.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Was pretty bad recently.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Yeah, because I would like wake.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Up from sleep with it going like hurting.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
That's pretty good, thank you, But I would go broken rib.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Do you have any other bad injuries other than my foot?
This is definitely my worst. But I had a concussion
in high school football. We were scrimmaging and for some
reason they're like, hey, you played tight end. I'm like okay,
And so I was playing tight end. I was running
right across the middle and there was a big linebacker
I remember his name, Matt, big dude, huge guy. Just
you don't have to keep telling us how big he is.
(13:20):
Due he was giant. You would believe it.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
He killed three people the practice before.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
I was too busy focusing on my route that I
didn't see Matt ran right into him to her. He
didn't even know he was ready for me. But how
did you know you had a concussion? Because I saw
white and then I don't remember what happened, and then
they were all around me.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
But were you diagnosed with a concussion?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Nah, you just know.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
So you just got your bell run. Yeah, I got
my bell run a couple times.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
But we didn't go get checked for concussions. No, No,
of course not. But you knew what it was now
you kind of know exactly what it was. I didn't.
I mean, I remember I dropped past, got crushed.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Matt wasn't big line, he probably wasn't even bit It
got me an hospital and I remember just seeing the
yard marker.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
There were three of them. That's a concussion, was it though?
Because don't they say they there? It wasn't diagnosed. No,
they weren't trust me. They weren't anyone back then. Yours
could have been a concussion. I think I just got
a bell wrong. But it was tough, and I was.
They love to say that, right, like, oh, I just
got the wind to kick that out on them.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
You're good, hey, I don't want them to retro retroactively
take me out of the game and take my stats
away of missing that ball.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
You can't, Kevin, You Yeah, concussions as well. Actually I
had quite a few, but mine the two diagnosed yes, yes, okay,
six diagnosed he's younger, yes, And two or three of
them I played, got the concussion and then played like
another player to watching them film and don't remember being
in there at all. And I would be on the
sideline and they'd be like, Kevin, you're going in and
I would just be like, where am I right now?
(14:46):
Those are the worst ones. They let you still play No,
then they play that's who we need to go after that,
And that was scary because you're just like you're lost
and you're like where am I? Who am I? What
am I even doing here? Kind of thing?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
And I said that every morning before work. Who am I?
What am I even doing?
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
I'm totally fine. And you were tight end Yeah yeah man,
tough physicians.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Tough dude.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Mark got me read.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
I ripped my butt cheek, like the muscle on your
butt cheek.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Yeah, well, I had to get stitches. I was I
was sliding down a skateboard ramp. This is my skateboarding days,
and there was a there was a screw sticking up.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Oh wow, I tore your butt cheek though.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah yeah yeah, but still that suckstitches. Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:28):
How did you? Did? You just sit in my side?
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (15:31):
So I after I got the stitches in school, I
had to sit like on a pillow all day in
class and I had to sit like kind of lean sideways.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
It looked like it looked like I was just.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Like, didn't have your V eight. Yeah, you wouldn't get
that reference. No, it does not understand that one of
those two or exactly. I tore my buttthole once riding bike. Yeah, recently, No,
six years, seven years ago. It's pretty recent because's not
like you were ten years old riding a bike. Oh no,
I was rinning a peloton and they were like up down,
up down, up down. Mother. I didn't even know. It
(16:01):
just stung, and then I went I tore my butthole.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Yeah, that sucked. And that was just long lingering more
than it was because I got back in.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
The I just remember tearing it be like who am I?
Speaker 3 (16:10):
What am I doing? Here? Was the seat up? I
don't understand, though, Yeah, how do you do that?
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I was just aggressively because they do all right, stand
go go go, go, sit go go go, And I
think I probably.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Was just committed. Oh okay, it hurt it.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
That's terrible.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Was it worth it?
Speaker 4 (16:29):
No?
Speaker 1 (16:29):
No, it sucked. It took a year to heal. Dude,
you have to use you have to use it every day. Yeah,
it's a chronic injury because of you have to use
that muscle all the time.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Yeah, so every time you try to heal it. I
tried everything to drink water.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Anytime you use that muscle a butthole, it would re rip,
so you would just beg it's terrible.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
No, No, I'm not laughing at this sounds terrible?
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Was that does sound? That's one of those things you
take for granted until you do something like that and
you're like.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
That's every injury. Like you know, like my foot, I'm
taking for granted and just walking because I'm thinking about it.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
You're like, next time I feel good with two feet,
I'm happy, I gotta go. It's like every time your
nose gets stopped up, You're like, why don't I appreciate
more my nose.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
I saw somebody jogging him, like, you're so lucky. You
have no idea how lucky you are.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Eddie showed up to the workout though yesterday.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I saw dude, good stuff, man, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
The problem is, and I why is there a problem?
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I commend him? I do?
Speaker 1 (17:26):
I commend him because his foot hurts, is in a
boot and you can't even move around. But I'm watching
him do pull ups and we do these banded pull ups.
Could you do a lot of them? And you put
it on your leg and you go. So let's say
you one leg, so you put your knee in the
band hm, and you're going up and down and you
your foot you can go down and rest on it.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Go again. But he's doing the wrong foot, where his
foot in the boot is hitting.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
The ground over and over again when he could have
easily put the I'm like, Eddie, why are you using
the bad foot to hit the ground. Oh no.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
The funny, the funniest on was our trainer goes, hey,
grab the kettlebells and just walk down the farmers farmers
walk for like twenty five yards. I'm like, I go
was like, whoa, whoa, don't do that.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
I'm like, yeah, you're god.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Eddie was hurt. I was totally about to do it too.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
I like the commitment, Eddie, trying to get you held
up here. Yeah, commitment. Next question, all right, with Jalen
Waddle getting paid this week, where do you rank the
Dolphins in terms of wide receiver duo in the league.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I'd say that the best are I mean probably the
Vikings because you have to look at who number one
is too, right, and I would say Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Eagles are good too, though, but I would say Justin
Jefferson and Chase are the two best wide receivers right, yes,
just generally Jamar Chase, justin jeff I put them at
one in one A. You can switch them whatever you
want to do. I think Chase got a little more
shy becuse hes got a better quarterback or cousins. He
wasn't always healthy, so but when he was, man Jefferson was.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
They're awesome.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
They're both awesome, awesome, But Tyreek is so good. Waddle
is also so fast that if it wasn't for Tyreek
being so fast, Wattle would be like the fast guy,
and like he is, that whole team is just wildly
the speed ridden. But if I were going to pick
(19:10):
based on the two wide receivers, I think I would
go because Jordan Addison's good with Jefferson.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
He's the number two.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I think I would go Chase and Higgins in Cincinnati
there At two, I'm probably gonna put A J. Brown
and DeVonta Smith. At three, I'm gonna put Tyreek and Waddle.
There's so little gap in between them though. At four,
I'm gonna put Jefferson and Addison and the Deebo and
(19:43):
Brandon and I what c D and what whoever else
they pick up off the free agent. Still there. Still
it's solid, but it's solid. Not even I did think
Beau came over from the Texans he.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Was gonna be more. They really didn't know what to
do with them. I guess I thought he was gonna
have a better year.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
He's one of those guys, though, You're like, I think
he's really good, But why does he just keep bouncing
team the team.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
There's a reason.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
There's gotta be a reason.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Right, Yeah, I would think so.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I mean, it feels like he's a bit problematic, but
aside from that, there are a lot of problematic players
and maybe he's not. But I thought the same thing.
But you would think with all the attention that Seed
gets that there will be no other choice than for
Cooks to have seventy five receptions and be more productive
just because of how much their bracketing CD or because
(20:34):
that number two ends up getting crazy production because they
spend so much time trying to shut down Number one. Okay,
I don't put the Cowboys in the time live buddy y.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, alright, next up, Okay, second receivers here. Three receivers
are yet to get paid. And if you were just
started a team right now, who would they be out
of CD Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Three great wide receivers, No doubt about it. Jamar Chase
will be number one for me because I've just seen
him do it at a high level.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
But Burrow has been hurt too.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
You know when I was saying Kirk Cousins, Burrow has
been hurt to Burrow gets hurt every year. Every year
Burrow has been hurt. I would still go Jamar Chase.
What's crazy is Jamar and Jefferson used to play together
with Brow with Burrow on what they.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Call the greatest team ever. Well some do they do? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Yeah, like that team had Burrow, those two wide RECEI.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Yeah, that's one of them.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Yeah, in my lifetime, that might be the greatest team
I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
The USC team Liner and Thunder and Lightning. That's pretty good.
Reggie Bush and uh.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Like letting Jarrett to Dwayne Jarrett the receiver.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Oh Am, I thinking of the running back to play
the Titans too, Reggie Lyndall White, thank you. So I
probably go Chase then Jefferson than Lamb. I just feel
like Seede Lamb hasn't been able to show how at
times he has and it's crazy good at times remember
all those No, yes, but I feel like consistently, but
not of his own fault of quarterback production fault.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
It doesn't remember he can't catch.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
It doesn't allow him to consist. He has massive games
when you get him the ball. Yeah, but I feel
like at times.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
And yards after catch pretty amazing.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
But I'm not taking the away from him. I'm saying
he I don't feel like he's been able to show
what he has as much and consistently as the other
two because that he hasn't had a quarterback that's put
him in that position.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Or a strong number two that has made that. I understand.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Yes, dude, don't take things so personally.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Well, it's just like why are you taking now? You're
taking shots at Dak right now? Like he gets them
the ball. They have great production, they're awesome together, Yes
they do. They have their foot production. Joe Burrow doesn't
even play, and Dak's there every game.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Joe Burrow is the only person to beat Patrick Mahomes
in the playoffs, that's true.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
And Tom Brady and Tom Brady yeah twice, Joe.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Burrow has actually won some even with his nineteen injuries. Okay,
I like Joe Burrow for the league.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I like Joe Burrow. Yeah, good quarterback.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Swag.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
That's fun. I agree, all right, give me one more?
Speaker 2 (23:04):
All right, last one? When the NBA Finals, know set,
what's your favorite storyline?
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Heading in Eddie picking both teams? That's the headline.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
That's my favorite storyline. Eddie has picked both teams. There's
no way he can be wrong, and that's it, and
that's my favorite. I think probably for me personally, I
would like to see Luca win one, even though I'm
not a Luca fan, because I think Luca's one of
the best players ever and he's never going to actually
get to be in that top ten category until he
gets a title. So I would like to see Luca
(23:33):
win one. Possibly two or three, who knows, but I
think that's my favorite. I think the Kyrie versus Boston
things fun. I think Boston probably thinks more about it
than anybody else does. Like I don't think all these
NBA fans like, here we go, Kyrie back to Boston.
I think Boston people are like, f M, let's go,
(23:53):
but that'll be fun. Boston fans are crazy and racist
and stuff.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
What's can you answer a question for me? Maybe you
don't know the answer. But who owns the Mavericks? Like,
so Cuban sold to the casino like a group. Oh
it's a group. Okay, that makes more sense. But I
think there's some owners that own but it's a company
he sold it to because the guy that got the
trophy the other night was the president. Now he was
(24:20):
the governor of what of the Mavericks? That's what the
title said. Then anymore, they've changed that in all of basketball.
Oh I didn't know. They don't call him owners anymore. Okay,
so he's the governor officially, they call them the governors.
It hasn't really caught on yet, but yeah, so that's
the it's the thank you for clarifying that. I'm like
really listed as.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
The owner, says Mark. Cuban sold it to the families
of doctor Miriam Addelson and Sevon and Patrick Dumont.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
The group okay, and the governor would be whomever there's
there's a probably a president that's also in the ownership
group that type thing.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
But NFL it's the owner. Yeah, that's what I thought.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Okay, I think Luke and Kyrie working together is fun.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
I mean going to from like not being able to
work together.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Oh, last year, that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Last year they were in the in the trying not
to get in the playing game.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah, they can get a better traffic pick. But my
favorite is Eddie picking both teams. Let's go there, you
goel Mavericks the.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Map, Sell, Sell Sell. That's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
It's a tough combination. The Meltics. You just did the
one letter the Meltics. All right, that's a tittle tattle,
the tittle tattle with the Bears are gonna be.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
The hard knocks team. And it's good. People want to
see Kayla Williams number one.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Pick one of these. We don't see a quarterback like this,
but once a decade type players even more, that's cool.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
So I think it's bad for a middle I think.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
This version, this generation of kid coming out of college,
especially KYLEB. William He's already had the lights and the
cameras and the action. He's already made millions of dollars.
I don't think the transition in twenty twenty four is
what the transition would have been in seventeen because of
just because of everything he was allowed to have and do, not.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Just Caleb, the whole team though there's distraction.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
To there's distraction being an NFL player, And they from
people that I've talked to that have been a part
of this show a bit, they you know, you kind
of know no when cameras are on, especially for like
the personal stuff the individuals. Of course they can find
stuff in practice, they can even kind of cherry pick stuff,
(26:41):
but they can't put anything in you didn't do and
otherwise just practice well.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
And it's not like they're doing too much serious stuff.
It's just spring training, no camp, training, camp, training camp. Sorry, sorry, Yeah,
I think it's good. Like who else would you have
picked if the Bears weren't an option? Eliminate the Bears?
Do you go back to the Jets with Aaron Rodgers? Know?
Speaker 1 (27:01):
But that's top ten probably, But you don't.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Do that, do you.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
You're gonna want to take a high profile team even
if they suck, because you're not gonna want to go
to Carolina. You're not gonna want to go to one
of any of the small market teams, even like a
Green Bay doesn't sound that fun because those guys don't
really allow that much. It's such a system like your
your packer culture. I think we need a Chargers will
be good Jim with hardball there.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Could that be cool?
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Yeah, I don't think he would have it, but I
think that would be a good one.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
He funny.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Want to see Russell Wilson. I want to like just
go in and see how Steelers, just want to see
how how he really is.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
He would annoy me, yeah, I mean, but that'd be
so entertaining, And I like that would have been fun.
I like that because they have two quarterbacks now and
they have a dynamic coach.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
No, he's fun. They they have a really tough schedule. Yeah,
it's gonna be tough.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
I mean, and does Justin Fields at some point? Like
what are they doing with what? I wonder what their
mind is right now with Justin Fields? Is it we
have album in case Russ sucks or we have them
because we sign Russ this very short deal and he's
going to be the next guy up after Russ.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
Could they do a Taysom Hill thing, No, because neither
one of them do that. Justin Fields doesn't run, yeah,
but he gets he's not built like that.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Taysom Hill runs a very straight downhill package.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
To Yeah, he's more of a runner than a quarterback,
where Justin's more of a quarterback than a runner.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
So that will be interesting.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
The thing I'm looking forward to the most, which really
doesn't have to do so much with but with the
Bears too.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
They have.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Rom Adnze, the Washington wide receiver. Yeah, which drafted early. Yeah,
I think it's a good pick. I think it's solidly
a good pick with nothing to click baity like, Oh,
we can't wait to see what happens. We just want
to see these new players. And apparently some guy that's
really good that we Washington College who's in LA Spotlight
was already on them.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
It'll be good. I'm good with it.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
I give it a eight out of ten, and I
don't know there was an eight point five or a
nine option. Next would probably be in the Chargers. I
like watching hardball's little press conferences.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Oh he's it's funny.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, it's funny and like oddly overly positive whenever you know,
he's just getting in dude's butts and practice. Bleacher Report
had that story. I feel like that's something else that
I was turning it into.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
But I'm excited to see kill the words I didn't
see a lot of him in college just because the USC.
I didn't really watch a lot of those games.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I watched him at Oklahoma a lot when he came
in mid season, and then like I watched him beat
Kansas State by or Kansas maybe by taking Kansas by
taking the ball from his own player, it's crazy, and
then him transferring, So I guess I was kind of
close to the situation because my families they're all OWERU fans.
And then I did watch a lot of him playing
at USC, just because I'd bet on those games and
(29:42):
they were the only games on at times, like USC
Arizona that ended up being a good game, the Colorado
game that ended ud been a pretty good game too,
with a lot of points, but they had no defense. Yeah,
I don't know. I think it'll be good, but I
trust people who do it for a living more than me,
and the team has to sign off on that, right
what on hard knocks? I think the NFL kind of
establishes who's.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Doing oh really, Yeah, yeah, there's like rules to.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
It, because I don't think the Jets wanted it last year. Yeah, yeah,
I think the NFL has a little bit of who
flew in the helicopter and the jets one. I remember
that one just being because that's my example of like distraction.
There was like some celebrity that flew in a helicopter
just to meet Aaron Rodgers. Oh is it the guy
the voice who does the voice.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Of Levers Leave Schreiver, Leave Schreiver.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Oh of hard not y? He like flew in and
they canceled all of practice because the helicopter comes in
and he wanted to meet Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
That would be annoying.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yes, that was probably also set up though by it
probably but distracting. But again they're adults, They're fine. There
are no distracts their lunch break. Yeah, it's a helicopter landing.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Who cares? Uh So that's fun. So what do you
think about my hat?
Speaker 1 (30:47):
I love?
Speaker 3 (30:48):
No one say anything about it?
Speaker 1 (30:49):
War the other day I was waiting wait really yeah,
work for a whole day at work and nobody said
anything about it. And it's it's uh, I just my
Instagram knows exactly what to feed me because it's like
balls dancing girls, that's yours.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
No mine is funny.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
So it's like, hey, you should make your hats and
did the upside down curl thing and I was like,
let me do twenty five whistles, but twenty five was
too many letters.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
I had to do two five whistles. I was wondering
why he went two five. Yeah, I like it though,
it seems cool I got.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I just bought two of them to see if I
liked how it looked.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
But do we like it? I love it?
Speaker 4 (31:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
I mean I can make some more, but I just
made it from a website.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
It's awesome. You know how many compliments I get on this?
That's too much access?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
One?
Speaker 2 (31:28):
It's cool every time I wear it.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
My wife designed that was like corduroy and yea, yeah,
they're they're quiet.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Every time we're gonna get one of those hats, I'm.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Like, I know, yeah, I get the that's funny. Like
what it's funny I think you're doing? Like that's what
I'm thinking. What do you think my hat means? Too
much access?
Speaker 1 (31:45):
I had a Paul Goldschmidt helmet, small, small helmet on
my desk, which I ironically had way before we had
the Cardinals set up. I wanted to break a Paul
gold Schmidt helmet, and you know, he was a l MVP.
In twenty twenty two, we interviewed him for Too Much
Access Saint Louis Cardinals, which we hope comes out next week.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
You send it off to them, not.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
They just sent me an agreement thing.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Yeah, we're working okay.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Agreement as in, have they seen it licensing? No, it
has nothing to do with the episode. It's just something
we have to sign off on.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Do you have to pay for something?
Speaker 4 (32:17):
No?
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Are you sure?
Speaker 2 (32:18):
As of right now, I'm working on stuff.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
We're good.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
We're good. I don't like I've spent so much money
on too Much Access. I can't spend anymore.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Please save me.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I'll tell them that you need to borrow some money.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
I got fifty cents comment covered. So as this Paul
goldschmid Ha went on my desk. We go into too
Much Access hopefully the Cardinals episodes next week. Do we
think it's next week?
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Yeah? Okay.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
I gave it to Eddie.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
I was like, here, you can have this. I have
a bat now that he gave me. That was really cool.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
So I gave it to Eddie. I was like, hey,
you can have this. Give it to your kids. They
may think it's cool. They'll say the episode of too
much access totally.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
My intention was for Eddie to give it to his kids.
That was mine too well, and that would have been fun,
right yeah, yeah, yeah, accept what happened. I went to
my orthopedic. I went for my first appointment. There is
a switch of sports doctor sports medicine place, right, so
when I get in there, like they're like, oh, yeah,
we know you. We love your show. It's so cool whatever,
like ah, thanks guys, And on their walls they have
(33:13):
autograph jerseys, pictures of Babe Ruth, autograph helmets like all
over the place, like this is really cool. So I thought, like,
since they're taking care of my foot and I told
them the cool story of like, yeah, I broke my
foot playing baseball with the Cardinals and all that, I
thought I can donate it to the doctor's office. They
could put it right there in the front and they
can be like donated by.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Twenty five whistles, like you know, wanted to be you
wanted to be Eddie twenty.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Five whistles, you just and then we fixed his leg
all that stuff. So okay, long term, I haven't done
it yet. I just thought that would be a cool
little gift for them. Plus my kids. Man, they got
all kinds of stuff and they don't know what. They
don't know that they're not getting it yet. You can
do whatever you want, what to it's yours. I gave
(33:56):
it to you. But yes, but you gave it to
me for my kid.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Are you wanting like a cheaper you want to like
a discount on your foot. No, it's more of just
like a token of appreciation for taking it.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
It's not even fixed yet, you're right, so I should
wait for the two week mark, three week mark, whatever
the mark is. It's so fixed.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Tell them, Hey, if you can get this in a week,
I'll give this to you.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
You say, hey, I talked to Paul and he said,
if you guys can fix me, he'll sign you guys
a helmet.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Send it down. That is so genius. And it's still
it's still in the box. Now it says dorm dude,
take it out.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
You can take it out of the box. Okay, you
can do whatever you want with it. Dude, that's a
great idea. Your kids don't think it's that cool.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
No, they don't know. But I haven't have not given
it to it.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
But what's the final takeaway from this?
Speaker 3 (34:45):
If I have to go back to that doctor's office again.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
The better.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Yeah, dude, I'm royalty there now.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
You want every time you walk in there, hey, there's
a guy.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
And the like, they tap the helmet, you know what
I mean. But it's not a big help. It's too many.
It's a mini helmet, so maybe it'll go right by
the front reception of the check in desk I have.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
I don't have a problem with it's your helmet. Do
whatever you want if your kids. If you don't think
your kids are gonna like it, no, I think they
will like it, but they fight over it. That's the thing, dude.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
I have four kids, so like every time I bring
home something, they're like, well, why didn't I get it? Well,
you'll get the next one. It's just constant, okay.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
But if you're gonna give to your doctor, do it
with no integrity at all and say, I talked to
Paul and he's gonna say.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
You got the helmet if you fix me. That's amazing.
It's just weird that my mind actually goes to that.
I know, that's just lo.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Sometimes it's scary to me. But you use it for
good now, you'll never really use it for now. You're
not like a You never know when I'm going to
turn a villain.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Clip that story read. I like that the helmet. We'll
put that on the internet, and then when I give
it to them, they're gonna be like, we know the
real story they have, like Babe Ruth up in there. Yeah,
there's all this cool memorabilia up there. You know what
I did last night? I subscribed to the WNBA A
League Pass. Oh wow, just to watch one team twelve
ninety five a month, or will you be watching all teams?
Speaker 1 (36:04):
I don't give a crap by anybody other than the
Indiana Fever. So twelve ninety five a month. I am
now a subscriber to the WNBA League Pass.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Hey, that's not cheap.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
I watched Kaitlin Clark score thirty. Then I watched her
score twenty. Last night they lost again. She has no help,
but they haven't won yet still one game?
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Oh they did.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
Yeah, that's toff. So I'm a big fan of the Fever.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
And I did better over nineteen and a half, but
like two hundred bucks on that felt pretty good.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
I looked up some stats this morning. Of course he did.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
You looked at the favor people are just such haters.
And again, I was not a Kaitlin Clark stan super
passionate hardcore fan until there were so many haters for
no reason. And people are like, well, she's only getting
all this attention because she's either pretty or white or straight,
And I'm going she's the.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
All time points leader in the NC double men or women.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
She gets the attention because she broke the biggest record
of all time in college basketball. People, so they are haters,
and she has nobody around her that Aliah Boston tries
a little bit, they can't catch her passes like Katela
Cars dropping dimes. So here we go Kaitlin Clark in
the WNBA, she's fourth overall assists per game. She's top
fifteen points per game at thirty or at seventeen point
(37:24):
six points a game, and there are some really low
games up front that really pull that down. But she's
a top fifteen scorer and she's top five and assists.
How people can hate on that by itself and then
playing on such an awful team where all they do
where they were playing a team and the girl she
shot one free throw and went but to guard her
again did forgot to shoot the second free throw.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
Oh wow, Oh you guys didn't see this. That's how
off they are.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
She was face guarding her the entire game. Now they
would be backcourt. She's face guarding her the whole time.
This doesn't happen to anybody else. So she's face guarded
her the entire game. She goes up and now she
gets fouled. She's shooting two free throws. She shoots the
first free throw and on the internet, we'll put the
clip up with it right now. Shoots the first free throw,
and then a Meal runs over and gets a Kaylinks
face and they're like, hey, you have another free throw
(38:06):
to shoot.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
The refs like what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (38:08):
That's how obsessed they are, dang with stopping her, and
they still can't.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
She's still a top fifteen score, top five and assists.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Caitlin's face after that too.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
She's just like, she's like, what the heck, Yeah, what's
what's going on here? Get out of my face?
Speaker 1 (38:21):
So I am a proud WNBA League pass.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Thank you, good for you, Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
I tried to buy a Kaitlin Clark signed card off eBay.
I wanted to sign rookie card, but in her eye
and I bit, I got, I get last second jumped.
Oh in the auction for like forty minutes, I was
number one and I haven't bit above what the bottom was.
So they had to like guess what mine and I
got I got jumped.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Dang, I know.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
I'm still trying to get that, like her autographed stuff.
It's going for like a thousand bucks cards. Dang, gotta
get that. And that's hey, and that's not even full value.
If he ask me, so, did that?
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Didn't that?
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Yeah, you clipped that whole thing too. If I didn't
say that another thing that I did. So I sent
off a bunch of my cards. It's gonna be very brief.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
This stole part of it.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
I said, a bunch of my cards to get graded.
And we've been doing it for a couple months now.
We don't have any of them back because it takes
like three months.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Its forever.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
And Kevin's been helping. I've been dropping them off at
the store.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
This's here.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
They have the grade them there at the store. No,
but they have a place you can drop them off
and they send them to PSA. And so I got
some of them back and they're like some of them
have eights, and I took them right out of the package,
put them right in the holder, and.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Mailed them right off, like barely touched.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
I think in that day, I didn't even want to
look at the scores, but Kevin sent me all of them,
and they're right in front of my face, and I'm like, oh,
not your fault, kind of but kind of it. So
I saw them and I'm like, I'm not gonna look,
but I did look. And out of the thirty cards
that I sent in the first batch, nine were Jim
mint Ten's only nine of well perfect. There were like
seven or eight nines and then some eights, and I
(39:56):
was like, eights, who's gonna want to eight?
Speaker 3 (40:00):
So I'm going through that process.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
I took a tom Brady individual card and if it's
worth over five hundred bucks, they make you pay a
different amount and you it comes back quicker too, though.
So I took a Tom Brady signed he's in a
Michigan uniform, he signed it, and they were like, yeah,
this one is at least worth at least a thousand dollars.
So I sent it off and I got the note
back yesterday and it's a real thick square card. It's
(40:24):
like perfect interview is an eight an eight day, Well,
at least it has an auto on it. Dude, here
here's what you can do. Break it out and sell
it raw. Well that's what I started thinking.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Can you break it out? Is that what you're gonna say? No?
You no, no, of course not never mind. I know
you can create the story of like, well Tom Brady
signed it. He had to hold it and do all that.
So that's why it's you know, not meant.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Committing tell though that's not a good as a Golschmidt life.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
No, it's not as good. You're right, you're right, but
but still if somebody signs something, you got to like
touch it and maybe bend a corner.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
But it's a really thick cart anyway. That come back
as an it's can you send it to another company?
Speaker 3 (40:59):
You can break it out. That's like second opinion.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Yeah, like a doctor's second opinion.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
But you can do second opinion. You can even send
it back. But sometimes they grade these cards. Yeah, you
can't pay for it, but you can sometimes. What I've
learned when they grade these cards, it's not just about
corners and physical it's also like how it was printed.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
And you have no control of it, nothing to do
with you.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
Hmm.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
So it could be like or like those older ones
that you buy, right, like those older eighties ones, and
like they've been in a basement for so long or.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Whatever and them are stuck together. Yeah, but that's for
a different reason.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
Somebody just really like them.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Thank you, the whole box. Thank you. We're gonna play
a little game called listen to an interview. Okay, I'm ready,
we already did.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
I'm in.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
So this is this is Ryan.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Ryan's the coach and general manager of the Major League
pick Aball team, the Texas Ranchers. Full disclosure on part
owner of the team. So it's cool to see how
they operate and practice there is Major League pick Aball.
Coach is also a semi pro pickleball player himself and
a co founder of the Lab, which is an awesome
training facility for pickleball players but also for Yeah, there.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Were weights and stuff, so it was awesome. So here's
coach and general manager.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Here's Ryan.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
So you're the coach?
Speaker 4 (42:12):
Yes, sir?
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Was that a GM?
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Well, I'm like I'm leading up to something GM building
what so, what the like? What do those roles mean?
When it comes to pickleball specifically because I don't have
I played pickaball, I don't have a coach.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
Should you?
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Could you like three?
Speaker 1 (42:26):
I actould have like three coaches, Yeah, one for right hand,
left hand, both, but like, what is your role that's
multi faceted?
Speaker 3 (42:32):
What do you do?
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (42:33):
The GM hat is more specifically focused on the draft
that we had a month ago in April, and uh,
working with Ted Evan and Alex to really help kind
of figure out who we wanted to draft and kind
of two men two women fashion to build.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
Your scout to then, so you gotta scout. He's a
scout as well.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
Scouts scout.
Speaker 6 (42:55):
But yeah, so living and breathing pro pickaball in the
current landscape and you know, watch playing and really asking around,
uh and understanding what the new meta is because pickle
ball at the pro level is changing kind of every
three to six months and in terms of what you
need in terms of skill sets and the median athletes
getting better, So it's it's rapidly changing. And if you're
not on the pulse, then you're picking names that sounded
(43:17):
good last year and ultimately aren't unlocking another level too
in the coming years.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
So are you good yourself or were you just good
enough to like almost be elite, but like a knee
got you or an elbow. So now you're coaching because
you learned a lot.
Speaker 4 (43:35):
It's not a fault.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
That's good.
Speaker 4 (43:38):
That's good framing.
Speaker 6 (43:39):
I consider myself a humble semi pro in terms of
I'm not gonna make it a full time living, but
I will plan the pro tournaments hopefully against these guys.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
Yeah. Yeah, pretty cool, yourself good?
Speaker 1 (43:53):
I would change Actually did that?
Speaker 4 (43:55):
Someone actually did that in the first season.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
Like back in the day, when looking for a vice president,
they put Dick Cheney as the head of the vice
president search committee. And you know who he picked himself,
Dick Cheney. You should addict yourself. That's weird, but I
meant Dick Cheney. Yeah. So when you so, okay, So
do they listen to you? Like, what do you coach
them on? Specifically?
Speaker 6 (44:18):
I think in this in this capacity for on court
performance is making sure we have a plan, making sure
that we've done the homework to understand who our matchups are,
and making sure that we've got deliberate practice sessions and
making sure that they're comfortable with each other. And kind
of asking the questions that they may have wanted to ask,
but because they're new to each other, or you know,
life's busy and they're on tour like they don't and
(44:39):
so kind of making sure you're the sometimes kind of
friendly dictator to make sure we're all on the same
page and kind of approaching a weekend with unity. So
I think there's like a few things where I throw
out ideas like, hey, this seems like a pattern that's
working for you or not, Like do you understand that
or is that something you're aware of your strength?
Speaker 1 (44:58):
We'd be like, do your pinky down a little lower?
Is that your thing?
Speaker 3 (45:01):
No?
Speaker 4 (45:02):
No, I'd be fascinated to learn if they have an
intricacy at that level.
Speaker 1 (45:06):
I can teach you later.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
Yeahh cool, thanks.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
I have one one of my best friends is a
tennis Hall of Famer and he plays a little bit.
But how does the tennis translate into pickleball.
Speaker 6 (45:16):
It translates well, but it's it's like not the ENDLBL.
Like we've seen some high level transfers to Sam Querry
jacksack some on the woman's side, and you know it
certainly gets them up the ladder very quickly.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
But it's not the NLBL. You have to put in
a lot of work.
Speaker 6 (45:33):
This is inherently a different sport, and a lot of
the tennis folks don't necessarily have the hands, or the
patients or the chess like decision making to like thrive
at the higher levels of pro like they would. They
wamp on any like amateur wreck person in their kind
of like ten session, but that doesn't mean competing against
folks who've done this for four years and weekend week
(45:54):
out and of ten million more touches under the lights
like is going to be like the So it's certainly
I'm a big fan of proud member of the No
Tennis Club. I played college lacrosse, so it's a fun
kind of challenge for me to pick up some of
the baseline groundstrokes. But ultimately you can still thrive if
you don't have it.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
I've played in a few like celebrity pro tournaments where
the celebrities that I play against I'm pretty good against.
I could kind of hold my own, yeah, maybe not
win every time, but some the pros there's no chance
like I played them. It's such a gap and somebody
who is a good wreck player versus a professional, Like
the gap is so much bigger than I could possibly
(46:34):
have imagined.
Speaker 6 (46:35):
They're invisibly good, is what I like to say. Like
it's you don't know until you've pushed your ceiling, you
don't know exactly like how good they are on the
consistency level, on the power level, on the spin level.
And I think we're just talking about this at our
team dinner last night. The whole sport, you know, as
a whole, at the professional full time training level is
(46:57):
so early that most amateurs things they're just gonna skyrocket
up the ladder, and it's like, no, you're gonna hit
a ceiling. And until you hit a really firm ceiling,
you don't understand what three levels above you means, you know.
And but everyone right now is just having so much
fun playing pickle, which is great, great for the sport,
great for the activity. But it's just they're they're they're
freaking good, and and it's weird to say, like, no,
(47:20):
no five handicap is like, oh, I'm going to go
play on the like the Hyundai Open and you know,
win this weekend on the golf tour. But because you
can sense that gap, you know, you've played with the scratch,
you've played with a plus two that's womped you every
time at the club. That doesn't mean you're going to
jump to the corn ferry, you know, PGA.
Speaker 3 (47:38):
But let's pretend that there's a dude at like Onion
Creek who like dominates Onion Creek and the word gets
out and you're like, oh, let's go check him out,
and he is or she is really really really really good.
Now you mentioned drafting players. Could you bring someone in
from off the streets who's like really really really really good.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
Yeah, there's we woul't necessarly do it.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
We're in Premiere, which is the kind of upper level
of yeah Premiere, Yeah, no big deal, no, but certainly
that is the that is a strategy within kind of
challenger you You've they've drafted some folks who've only played
two tournaments to their name, but one of the women
two years ago went to the NCAA finals for singles tennis,
And it's like you're betting on a blue chip kind
of like athlete horse who's like shown she's really committed
(48:22):
and she's early, but you're you're you're betting on her
ceiling being really high.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Freshman had of college basketball, maybe it was six man,
but still gets drafted top five overall. Yeah, like you
see a lot of potential that could happen, and with
one of the teams that's not a premier league team.
Speaker 6 (48:35):
Yeah, I think it's a little too much a risk
for the I mean, yes, there's a lot of there's
a lot of betting right now in it, especially with
the new two to three year horizon. There's a there's
a sense of like, hey, they may struggle for three
six months kind of learning all of the like intricacies,
but over the long term, now with these contracts and
being committed to a brand and a franchise in a city,
(48:56):
you know, you can develop them. Previously that wasn't really
an off, so now it's everyone can kind of put
on a little bit of a longer term Lens Sea Bones,
that's you.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
That's why I was asking the question.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
I appreciate that Kobe out of high school didn't even
start with the Lakers first year.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
I know, I'm Kobe, but I'm like forty pretty much Kobe.
Speaker 4 (49:11):
Yeah, Yeah, there we go, we heard it.
Speaker 1 (49:13):
Here's the question. Yeah, I think our audience would like
to understand you said, Premiere. Yeah, like talk to me
like I'm five, What does that mean?
Speaker 3 (49:22):
And what is not Premiere?
Speaker 6 (49:24):
Premiere is like varsity. Well, hopefully no one in Challenger
takes this as a knock, but for a five year
old brain, Premiere's varsity.
Speaker 4 (49:33):
Yeah, Challengers JV.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Now, if we do like a thirteen year old brain,
this may be an unfair Yeah, and I'm not a soccer.
Speaker 4 (49:41):
Thirteen year old brain.
Speaker 6 (49:41):
Bobby, thank you, Major League Baseball Challengers Triple A.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
That's good. Okay, hold on, okay twice twenty five year
old brain and do soccer?
Speaker 4 (49:53):
I don't. But is that soccer model?
Speaker 3 (49:57):
Is that the same?
Speaker 1 (49:58):
So exactly and right they they are like relegated.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
Sorry I had my apologies me too.
Speaker 1 (50:05):
Food ball football. If you're like in the bottom of
the league, do you fall to the league below and
do you can you climb to the top league.
Speaker 4 (50:11):
In this rendition, the top three teams of the lower
league will be promoted to THEE. So there's yeah.
Speaker 6 (50:18):
That was a calculated bet by some of the ownership
groups to say, hey, we're not going to pay up
to be in Premiere this season, but through our performance
at the end of the year, we're going to be
in the top three and we'll join.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
The big like the big Boys, but the bottom three
of the Premiere they I don't know. I have checking
that's not like seventy two teams in the Premier League
in like ten years.
Speaker 4 (50:38):
I mean the sport. I mean fastest growing sport in America?
You know, how do you have you heard that? You
heard that some times?
Speaker 1 (50:45):
I've heard that a lot. Anytime mention it, it's like,
you know, it's fastest growing sport.
Speaker 4 (50:48):
Or or it's take a shot every time someone says it.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
Or it's like or why don't you play tennis? And
I'm like, I tried. It's not you know, watching it's
hard with tennis. This is my opinion of it. Having
a very limited background in both. To start playing tennis
is really hard. Yeah, you it's almost you start and
you're like, wait, this is gonna take forever to just
be able to be on a court and start to
try to train to get okay. With pickleball, you can
(51:13):
get okay.
Speaker 6 (51:15):
Relatively perfectly designed game slash sport like it sucks everybody in.
You're like, you're you're hooked on your first session, and
it's so you always have a reason to play, and
that's why people play four or five times a week.
That's why there's pickle ball, indoor pick a ball clubs
that are dedicated just to pick a ball. It's because
you can see your friends, you can get off the couch,
you can play, you can invest in it like tennis
(51:37):
or golf like a skill sport.
Speaker 5 (51:38):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (51:39):
It's just there's every reason to play every day.
Speaker 1 (51:41):
And the balls don't cost as much as golf balls.
If you lose one, the woods very easy. Maybe you
guys have crazy balls. I buy a bucket of ball's
this big. It doesn't cost as much as much.
Speaker 4 (51:52):
Are you actually buying in your family or staff?
Speaker 3 (51:56):
Oh, he's not going to the store. I go to
the store exactly.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
It's not shopping at stores for the most part.
Speaker 3 (52:01):
Like I don't know, six years ago, the.
Speaker 6 (52:03):
New ball that play that people play on tour with
four dollars could crack, you know, like a month in
that's I would never difference four bucks.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
Yeah, but I feel like I'm better at golf, but
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
That's the thing.
Speaker 3 (52:15):
I'm not better at golf. Are there better quality rattles?
Speaker 1 (52:19):
Oh yeah, I can tell you that.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Yeah, they're paddles, but rackets.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
No, See he's a rookie.
Speaker 4 (52:24):
Call it two times?
Speaker 3 (52:25):
Is it a paddle a paddle? Okay, Okay, I'm.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
In rackets a big anywhere. If you're big tennis, you're
in big tennis, payroll.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
A big, big time. You're like that, but you're hitting.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, there's a distinct difference. Yeah and paddle.
Speaker 6 (52:38):
I'd say, if you're serious about trying it, and you
think you think they're you're going to play five or
ten times, I'd invest in the seventy five dollars paddle,
the forty dollars thirty dollars one that you get from Amazon.
It's fine, but it's gonna actually you're going to feel
like a limitation to it, and you're going to be
kind of frustrated that you didn't just spend a little
bit more at the gate.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
But they go up to twenty four goal. That was
two thousand, it says, right, they go up.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
To three hundred bucks right now, three hundred dollars for
a paddle. Yeah, but you can say that about one
of the drivers. One driver, and you have fourteen clubs.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
But you know you get twenty five yards out of that.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
No, but you also get it fifteen times a day. True,
this you get to swing all day. Yeah, from big Tennis,
Big time. Get him out of here tennis. He's from
big tennis, Big Tennis. What's the goal this season?
Speaker 4 (53:20):
You have a new Twins championship?
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Do you have a new team.
Speaker 6 (53:22):
Anyway, we have a real shot at it? Okay, Yeah,
Like we drafted very well. They're all playing on the
tour extremely well. In the last few months. We're getting
together while they have familiarity of playing with each other.
Three of them live in Florida. We're bringing them the
team retreats. Like I think it's you know, it's a
little cliche to say it's our season to lose, but
I genuinely believe that, Like, we have an opportunity to
(53:44):
show up in these six events, you know, sixteen matches
and and really went.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Let me ask you getting into the weeds, granular GM
type of question when you draft, how did you get
the draft order?
Speaker 3 (53:55):
Is it a snake draft like Fantasy football? Good question.
Speaker 6 (53:58):
Yeah, there's a planted question or a genuine USESH know,
I'm genuinely because it's the most contentious and interesting part
of the draft.
Speaker 3 (54:04):
I'm a great interviewer, So let me have it.
Speaker 6 (54:06):
Yeah, props to you, interviewer had so previous seasons were
snake drafts, so one through twelve you kind of go
back and go back and forth, and you know, anyone
familiar with snake draft, it's you can kind of understand
where the groupings of talent may fall to you. This
one was an auction based draft, so it's a fantasy
football draft. So you theoretically had a million dollars five
(54:29):
hundred thousand monopoly money, and then ownership groups could elect
to spend another five hundred k. So you had a
million dollars to spend and that's like real money. Five
hundred thousand was out of pocket.
Speaker 4 (54:41):
Real yeah from me only wow. Within premiere.
Speaker 6 (54:45):
This was auction based, and so all the ownership groups
and gms logged onto a fantasy football like interface and
the first slot for draft pick number one came up
and you real time bid.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
Oh you've been on the slot, not the player.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
Yeah, you've been on the slot.
Speaker 6 (54:58):
And the only the only slot that really meant a
player was Ben Jonson, the kind of the living go
best player in the world by far, so he was
going to go number one. It was just a matter
of how much, And he ultimately went for eight hundred
thousand dollars, So somebody whosed eighty percent of their total purchasing.
Speaker 4 (55:14):
Power to get Ben.
Speaker 6 (55:15):
Who bought him the Pioneer Seattle Pioneers, and they elected
to say, hey, Bennett Beato. Bennet's so good that we're
going to like round out a team of three other
people far far far down into the forties. But Ben
can kind of carry and he's going to win two
of the four matches ninety percent of the time.
Speaker 4 (55:36):
Like he's that good.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
So what what spot did the ranchers get?
Speaker 4 (55:39):
Well? So we we elected to draft.
Speaker 6 (55:42):
Oh, so we spent I think it was like four hundred,
five hundred and twenty thousand of our million for the
first our first pick at number seven, and we chose
Christian Alshan, And then we spent another one at like
fifteen or sixteen for at a right, and then we
snagged Tina Pisnick at kind of like thirty two, and
(56:05):
then Pablote has like fell to us in forty four.
So we used like nine hundred and seventy thousand of ours.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
Do you keep the rest? Be honest, who keeps the
rest Okay, they.
Speaker 4 (56:12):
Probably went to these hats. These are hats. Okay, those
are expensive hats.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
What about though, the idea of if you spend all
your money on one or two and then you're only
there to draft yourself, because what else are you going
to do?
Speaker 4 (56:21):
Dick, you actually be seen you and I if we
ran out of money exactly like okay, So.
Speaker 6 (56:27):
But anyways, it was very complex because you can't really
model how other ownership groups were going to do, like
what is their player that they're going to really go
above board for?
Speaker 4 (56:35):
Are they going to go male male female? Female? Male?
Speaker 6 (56:37):
Fe Like you couldn't really model, and so you just
had to have an understand Going back to your first question,
you just had to know your shit around the players,
like you had to know of the sixty seventy players
that could be drafted in the top forty eight. You
really needed to know in real time what you were
going to do with with combos and pairings and so
that for two weeks we lived it.
Speaker 4 (56:54):
Did player interviews.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
Do you mont drafts like we did two?
Speaker 6 (56:58):
We know a lot of other people did other ones.
But it's so hard to model because you don't know
if they're going to even spend towards a million. Sure,
you don't understand if they're going to go after the
one person at all costs.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
So it's just like same fantasy.
Speaker 1 (57:07):
It's tough.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
Yeah, well different thoughts.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Unless it's an auction draft, you really have no idea
what they're going to spend on a player. Well, so
the one interesting I'm against you now, big pickle cut it.
Speaker 6 (57:21):
But the one interesting anecdote is, you know, you talk
with someone who does like fantasy football on like a
global level.
Speaker 4 (57:26):
You know, you're two hundred dollars.
Speaker 6 (57:28):
You know, everyone says overspend for your elite like Christian
McCaffrey at forty five, homes at forty three, Like you're
spending thirty percent of your money, and then you try
to like get some sleepers in the end, like have
some you know, sneaky value. But the problem is those
guys are all playing on different teams in different cities
and you're summing their point total. This is like they're
playing events together, like as a team, and so it's
(57:50):
like you actually had to be a lot more nuanced
and it wasn't just raw production because you're like you
had to create a team that has like tetris.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
Like, explain that too, because you have four people on
a team, how does it work if you go to
a tournament and how to all four play?
Speaker 6 (58:04):
Yeah, so when you play another team, you're you're playing
at least for four games within a.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
Match, and so so not a tournament, then I messed
up at that question. MLP event, Yeah, so let's say
it's an MLP event straight up.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
Yeah, so we're gonna play Seattle.
Speaker 1 (58:15):
We hate Seattle. So let's say we go to Seattle.
Speaker 3 (58:16):
We hate those spend they spend too much money.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
Yeah, yeah, beeny, they're broke.
Speaker 6 (58:20):
Yeah, so our woman will play their women, and then
our men will play their men, and then our mixed
pairing of the men and women will play their mix pairing,
and then we'll play another mix pairing, and if we're
tied after two to two, you go to the dream breaker,
which is kind of the novel kind of fun singles based,
uh kind of tiebreaker.
Speaker 1 (58:39):
So no singles unless it's the tie breaker.
Speaker 3 (58:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (58:41):
Yeah, So it's all it's all doubles format, all team format.
But there's just a lot of like kind of fun
intricacies and equations of like what mixed partnership do you
if you lose the toss, you can't necessarily choose what
mixed partnership you want to match up, but their mixed partnership,
and if they're already had, they may put out their
best one to.
Speaker 4 (58:57):
Seal the deal and go three zero.
Speaker 6 (58:59):
So there's a there's a lot of fun, but basically
you have to create a team, whether it's you know,
as rudimentary is like lefty and right You don't want
two lefties.
Speaker 4 (59:07):
You need you know, you want to write and writ
or righty in a lefty and then you need.
Speaker 6 (59:11):
A woman who's comfortable playing on the left and a
woman who's comfortable playing on the right where they feel
really in their role. And so if you just go
by raw output value or what they did last season
on tour, you don't actually like melt them to be
like a one plus one equals three equation. So anyways,
it was complex, it was very stressful. But right after
draft night we were like super pumped because we had
(59:33):
literally three of the four names on our draft board
and we thought it would be like a wet dream
if we got them, and we're.
Speaker 1 (59:38):
Like, interesting, interesting analogy there he went there, we went there,
I mean, give the man a raise though that's a lot.
He's a coach, he's he's head scoalt.
Speaker 4 (59:48):
I mean the weeds had get You brought me into
the weeds too.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
He's definitely in the weeds, coach.
Speaker 3 (59:54):
Do you know the origin of pickleball?
Speaker 2 (59:56):
Like?
Speaker 3 (59:56):
Why is it called pickleball? Because I do.
Speaker 1 (59:59):
Asked a question? You challenge you know that's sick sick dude.
Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
Yeah, uh.
Speaker 6 (01:00:06):
The bar Banbridge Island. I believe the guy's name like
family dog was named Pickle. Okay, but is that correct?
Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
Now?
Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
My theory is just they show you said you knew.
My theory is that it is called pickle because the
noise that makes like pick.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
That's not true because but you said you knew, and
now you said you.
Speaker 6 (01:00:25):
Please don't clip this. This guy is so working for
big time. Yeah, sure, it's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Does it not sound like pick when you hit it?
Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
I guess if you you know that thing that's like,
uh white needle, Laurel. You hear it, Laurel? Yeah, maybe
that's Laura.
Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
This guy. So last question, you should work for a big,
big fidel. They need some new staff.
Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
I'll think of that, mister, mister Wimbledon.
Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
Yeah, you have your four kids. Watch you in that
nice class bucks man.
Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
Okay, final question, Uh, season start to end, and how
is there a champion? And is there like a World
Series or super Bowl?
Speaker 6 (01:01:03):
There's a we have six uh kind of weekend events
uh scheduled with like kind of fifteen matches and then
uh so that's what we know guaranteed. And then there's
a mid season playoff where all teams will converge uh
in northern Michigan in the summer to kind of win
like or compete, you know, for a mid season thing.
And then there's a culmination with semi finals in playoffs
(01:01:25):
and in the real finals experience at the end of
the year in late falls.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
So final, final question, bonus question. Let's say one of
our four players gets hurt. Yeah, number no, I won't
be near. I won't be near who knows. Maybe I'll
be on the Maybe I'm touring. I happen to be
in the same city. Happened to be chase them around.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
But what if it's are you are usually just Texas?
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Really I happen to be as I'm here.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
I happen to be in the Michigan of your MLP tournament.
Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
If somebody goes down one, what do you do to
Could it be you?
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Are you the alternate?
Speaker 4 (01:01:58):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
No, you thought about that for one clip?
Speaker 6 (01:02:01):
What if somebody I thought about trying to make a
funny a better way to go humorous? And what do
you do you pick up someone from where there's people
that are contracted, but don't day of I've still looked
into the rules. I know it's changed every season because
there's been.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Can it be you? Though?
Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
It can be made?
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
There we go, let's go. That's the Disney movie. That's it.
He came on as coach and scout. Next thing you know,
he's holding the trophy. We don't wan anybody to get hurt,
but inevitably in sports there are at times injuries.
Speaker 3 (01:02:36):
For sure, and if that happens, he's the dude, dude, dude,
this is it? Yeah, I mean I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
Like Shilah Booth plays him in the movie.
Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
He's like Rudy instead of Rudy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
It's wrong. I really appreciate the time. Thank you very much,
good luck this season, and let's let's let's go hit
it awesome?
Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
Is that what you say?
Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Let's go hit it now?
Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
I mean that's what we say when we go to school.
Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Yeah, yeah, all right, thanks to Coach. And you can
check out that episode too Much Access. Just go over
to too Much Access Bobby Bones on Instagram or to
my account at mister Bobby Bones. And hopefully next week
the Cardinals will be up. Saint Louis Cardinals. It's a
really good episode.
Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
You like it, you watch it. No, I haven't watched
the yet.
Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
I'll sent you last night.
Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
No, I'm not ready for it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
What he said it was giving him PTSD and PTSD
and I told him, you didn't serve to Vietnam, Bro,
you stepped on a base.
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
It's like I asked Read for the video clip of
my ankle, of me rolling my ankle and breaking my foot,
and I was like, am I ready for this? And
I watched him like I wasn't ready for that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
It's so good.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Final thoughts. We'll come back in a second with that.
Let's take a break, Okay, really final thoughts. Sure, I'll
go first in my collecting of memorabilia and cards, which.
Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
I have enough memorabilia.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
I have the stuff that I'm keeping now and Read
and I you're working on selling a lot of it,
like I gave Rid a Cowboys helmet.
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
Yesterday, like just like commission.
Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
Not really. He was like, my friend Stone love the
cowboyson is getting a lot of stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:04:03):
I gave that to him last night and he was
so pumped.
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
He was he was happy.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
I think his thing was I hold his thing raids
thing was can I buy one of those? And I'm
not gonna make him give me money? Well I knew.
Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
I knew I wasn't going to pay full price, but
I definitely were.
Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
You knew that I meant stop talking making notes.
Speaker 4 (01:04:24):
I was gonna pay.
Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
So I was like, dude, because re kills it does
a great job. Sad he's leaving, but I know he's leaving,
and so I was like, here, what's a cool one?
So I found an Emmitt Smith blue one.
Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Dang, that's awesome. Red color. Looks you're talking about the
dark blue one?
Speaker 1 (01:04:42):
Yeah, because Emmett won't not sign a contract after next year.
Because I could have done a Dak, but DAK could end.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Up with like the you know bucks or something. You
mean sign a signing contract. Yeah, yeah, not to play.
Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
Like a contract.
Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
DA's here.
Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
If Dak doesn't perform, the Cowboys will not resign him.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Oh you said, Emmett.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
I mean Nomitt will not have to sign a contract.
He's already done got there are no contracts from designed.
He will always he already What do you know? He
left the Cowboys?
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
What are the cardinals that that's weird, so weird, but
he's never gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
Be on it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
He's always a cowboy in them.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
Yeah, So I was like, you should have the Emmitt one.
So I gave him the inmine when and I Stone
liked it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
Yeah, he was so excited.
Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
So but my point is with these cards, there are
some cards it takes. It costs like twenty bucks a
card to get graded, and that's a lot. I probably
spent four thousand dollars in just grading cards. Yeah, overall.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Do I think I could sell them all back though?
As Yeah, I mean I do, and that's why it's
disappointed when it comes back as an eighth.
Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Yes, exactly. So, but I have a bunch they're like borderline.
And so I took him to Eddie and instead of
just giving him cards so I was doing, I had
some though that were like good cards, and I said, hey,
give these to your kids.
Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
And he's like oh, I should like teach him about money.
So you guys don wanted to do with them? Yeah, yeah,
it's just you know, they're they're nine and ten. So
I was like, this is a good time for them.
They do collect cards and Bobby's given him a lot
of cars, and it's like good ones too, like autos,
good ones. Yeah, and it's a good time to now, like, hey,
if you want to make money, and this is set
up an EBA account, you can learn about like shipping,
(01:06:09):
how to get an order, send an order out. And
then Bones had a good idea.
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
Well, I just said they can sell them have it.
I get ten percent. Then they learn.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Taxes to invest, how to pay out an investor.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
So one of his sons text me last night. I
was like, hey, we sold one. It was a signed card.
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
I was like my first first he FaceTime dude, Oh,
I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
I didn't see until later. I thought you did he did,
because until we had already texted, I didn't see.
Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
I missed the FaceTime. As soon as he got the
sold notifications, like, Dad, give me the phone. I got
to call Bobby. They got to call Bobby. What was it?
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
It was the.
Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Singletary Devin Singletary signed Devon Singletary for like five bucks.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
And what happens is on eBay you put.
Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
In how much the shipping is going to be and
they just give you that money. Then you pay for
and ship it. And he's like, we got that plus
the shipping, we have nine dollars. I'm like, that's not
how it works. You got five got to go pay
for the shipping because they gave you that money to
do that. And so I make ten percent. I said,
how much is that? I get ten percent? How much
it goes fifty cents? I was like, boom, let's go
learning learning. So I made fifty cents off that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
And what's cool is like the first one that I
put up, I put one up on Evan. I wrote
out the description, took pictures and everything. All right. It's like,
do you guys watch like, yeah, here's my computer, let
it rip. Oh, they're doing descriptions, They're doing everything.
Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
Do you want to say? That's why some of the
people say page they want to go to. Do you
want to see the eBay page?
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Yeah? Sure, is their names on on it. I'm like, hey, man,
watch the capital letters and all that it is on eBay,
it's rock and roll, no rock star, little t rock star.
L I L the letter t R O c K
s t A R Yeah, l I L L I
L T. Let me let me go. Look because I
(01:07:47):
tried to get to it earlier but I didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
We can link it in the episode description.
Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Now I want to go for me. I want to
maybe buy a couple things.
Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
I mean, they buy it back. They're all about, hey,
wait a second.
Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
Uh yeah, So we're doing the card thing.
Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
That's awesome, that's fun, and they'll learn a little bit
of good little summer project.
Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
How many of them are doing it? Two of them?
Just the two of them oldest and youngest aren't. Now
they're out, got it? Final thought, Eddie, Final thought is
I have a question for you guys about my foot again.
I don't mean to keep bringing it up, but people
were saying I've never worn a boot like this. But
people were saying, like, dude, you gotta wear socks with
that boot. Oh yeah, because it'll stink.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
Is that what it is?
Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
Yeah? Because I mean I can't really wear socks because
it's still swollen. So I'm worried more of like hurting.
You can wear a sock. No, I wore one the
other day. Dude. It hurt my foot just because it
was like tight. My foot still is larger than my
other foot. Okay, we'll remove the drama. There's no drama
because of the heat, the moisture. When you sweat, it
(01:08:45):
gets stinkier. It's like it to have a cast. Can
you wash this thing? Yeah, you probably taken.
Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
Apart, especially if you're working out in it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
That's true. I didn't think of it. No, No, I
did put a sock on for the workout just for
that reason. Maybe you asked that before you work out?
Can you work out in it? No, I put a sock.
I put a sock so because I knew I was
gonna swore. Can you wash it?
Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
I mean, yeah, good point anyway, that's my question, should
wear a sock?
Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
Because I mean, everyone has an opinion. Everyone I talked
to like, oh, well we do? You just asked, well,
I purposely asked you, guys, how.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
Many you have to wear that? Two weeks and then
a week of not being on it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
They said four weeks. But at the two week mark
they'll know where my progress is on my bone. So
it's one week tomorrow. Yeah, today, one week today today,
have you anniversary? Thank you dude.
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Can't believe it was already a week ago.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
I know, Kevin, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
Yeah, I want to get your guys' thoughts on a
I saw something today for the first time in person,
seen all over the internet obviously, the Tesla trucks.
Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
I almost I like them almost two Yeah, I like
them almost.
Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
I mean I drove behind one for assault fifteen minutes because.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Jake, but one.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
Oh, and you don't want to be like I don't
want to buy one Jake, but one?
Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
But I also found a black one. I've never seen
the black ones. Well, they don't make them black. The
person had it painted.
Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
Oh we'll do. Why don't you just paying a rent?
It's already I like the.
Speaker 2 (01:10:04):
Black Have you test driven it or you know?
Speaker 3 (01:10:06):
But I had a Tesla before. I liked it a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
I mean, I like Tesla's but man, that thing is funky.
Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
Look it's very funky looking and I probably shouldn't want it.
Can you shoot at it? We can try.
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
It's a bulletproof.
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
We'll have redrive.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
We'll go like, ready to go.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
I'm down.
Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
They aren't ugly to me, but they're definitely not pretty.
It's like something from another like in the future, is
driving on the road and I don't quite understand it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
It's like, well, look at that, but they're becoming not
they're not prevalent. But there you see a few more now, right?
If I got one, would you think I was a douchebag?
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
I personally think it's more of like a I can
get this, so guess what I'm gonna buy it and
show it off.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
Well, you can get it now though, just by it's
not that much, is it?
Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
Oh? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
Is it that much?
Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
That's not that much? I want to hear this. Yeah,
what's not that much?
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Well, I'm saying, like, it's not like you can't get
on a Lamborghini or anything. It's like a like one
hundred thousand dollars the.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Black, which is a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
I know it hard you get that truck now days?
And okay, anything under seventy grand is a.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
Big nice or a nice truck. Yeah, how much money
am I paying Kevin for him to think.
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
Well, I wouldn't pay full price for it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
The black one that I saw in line was like
one sixty five.
Speaker 3 (01:11:13):
Oh wow, because it was painted. I think that's so unique.
It happens not. I've not seen one of like that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
My wife, if I said, hey, I'm gonna go buy
this Tesla, you're gonna text that right now. No, we
already talked about it. She's like, you know, Jake, but one.
Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
I was like, ah, let me see the black one
here for one fifty town. It's an auto trader probably
what he's saying.
Speaker 5 (01:11:34):
I said, Uh, yeah, kid Rocks got got one that
he has painted like the General Lee car.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
Oh, yes, that's a Revel flag. Yeah, is this black one?
It's like Matt Black.
Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
Isn't it cool?
Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
That's better then this.
Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
S got one hundred and seven miles on it. But
where is it? I don't know that. So I'm trying
to find out were can we get it now?
Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
Hm?
Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
Hmm. I got a movie today. I'm gonna go see
a Planet of the Apes. See if you see Oh
you are the Night taking the Boys?
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Do you see where that is going tonight? Too?
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Kevin?
Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Sorry?
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Well, yeah, I'm trying to.
Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
Information unavailable and it seems sketchy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Read mm hmm. What's your thing? I'm trying to find
where this place is. I'm sorry, what do you have
anything to end on? Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:12:20):
Have you seen the new NCAA football gameplay trailer?
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
Uh? Yeah, I can't wait for it's I'm looking for.
Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
When is that?
Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
I already pre ordered it. Yeah, I'm ready to go fifteenth.
The problem is the Road to Glory doesn't have high school.
I din't start in high school, which is weird. That
was the best I know. But I'm sure they have
they know this, but the road to Glory now starting
in high schools weird to me.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Yeah, because I like to be in.
Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
High school and they get recruited. Then yeah, go ahead,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:12:42):
No, you're good. How how often do you think they'll
have to update it like every week like players like
in the transfer portal and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
It's interesting. I don't understand what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
He people moving teams, so oh yeah, no, no, no, no, no,
I think that which by the way, what team was it?
Maybe LSU or a lot of the players didn't sign
off and it's a bunch of gennaros. I think it
was LSU. I think it's like Madden and let they
don't if a player moves mid anything, they are still
on the team.
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
That makes sense.
Speaker 5 (01:13:13):
Okay, sign like sign in and all of a sudden,
like my quarterbacks going, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
I don't think that's funny because they're going to transfer
a portal off of your team. Yeah, unless they did
it while you were the coach and it says, hey, coach,
I'm thinking about leaving, but I'm pretty excited about the game.
Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
Sign off? What do you mean like the the the
teams have to pay or like do they not pay?
And they just sign off and be like, you can
use our likeness.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Each player that allowed for their likeness to be in
the game was given like five hundred.
Speaker 3 (01:13:38):
Bucks in video games. That's perfect. I'll take that.
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
It was no big thing, but would you take it?
Oh yeah, I'd love to be in the game. Yeah.
But the guys from on the cover got paid different
in als, of course because they were much bigger.
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
I do have so remember is that. I'm sorry. I
was watching some auction right now on the cyber truck.
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
Did you find out what the truck is? So I
made a purchase for Kevin. I gave him a Robert
Parrish card with a piece of a jersey. It was
I just saw it online. I thought it'd be cool,
like a little gift.
Speaker 3 (01:14:09):
Do you remember that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Yeah, it's fun.
Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
How I got it?
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Yeah? Do you like it?
Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
I love it? Cool to my office.
Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
Do you want to sell it?
Speaker 6 (01:14:15):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
I have some I saw a gift for somebody else
that I bought, and I'm not gonna tell you who
it is though til next week.
Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
Next week, Yeah, you already give stone a helmet.
Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
I and I didn't go searching, but I saw this
and thought somebody.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
Here would love this, and it's sports related. I'm not
giving any hints.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Is it a cyber truck?
Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
It is not be nice, but it's pretty cool and
I can't wait to give it. It'll be a random
gift number two next week to one of the one
of the show people here. And I just saw Kevin's
and I wasn't like, I'm gonna spend this much, but
this one definitely costs a.
Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
Lot more than Kevin's.
Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
Dang, but it wasn't about the cost. I don't want
you to be offended slightly. Okay, did you do your final?
Speaker 4 (01:15:04):
Yea Red did his?
Speaker 3 (01:15:06):

better than the silver. Yeah right, yeah. And they painted.
That's not factory painted, because factory they all look the same.
