Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's a podcast called twenty five Wists stuck in Funball
and they went a whizz.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
So yeah, it's too bad, But what did you expect.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
It's a podcast call twenty five Whistline.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Welcome to the show, Eddie, say it hood? Are you
watching now?

Speaker 2 (00:24):
I'm just trying different things, you know, like that one.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
I feel like you're just watching like Hard Knocks.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Oh dude, I cannot stop watching Hard Knocks now. I'm
all caught up on Hard Knocks and I'm sucked back in. Dude.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
So the Bears went to Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yes, every single time I watched Hard Knocks, I'm like, gosh,
this team's gonna be good.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
You know, it did kind of.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
The Lions ended up being a pretty good run for them.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
That was the first time in a long time because
all the other teams that they spent time with they
were never good. Did you.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
I haven't watched any of the Bears one and I'm
almost refusing to watch preseason. But and here's why I
watched clips. But I ended up making fantasy football decisions
based off preseason. Oh dude, And so I can't and
I've I've done it too many times where I've made
stupid fourth or fifth round picks in my fantasy league
based on somebody I've played well in preseason. It gets
absolute vanilla defense. So unless it is a cool highlight,

(01:12):
I'm just not watching the game.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
You're not even watching the first quarter just to kind
of see like the starters play a little bit.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
It affects me too much, and I've learned my lesson
and so I'm not a serious sports guy anyway, and
I love it. We talk about it, but nobody's coming
here for analytics. I just want to run my freaking
fantasy team.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
You know what I saw yesterday? Rock Purdy play like crap.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
It was awesome, dude. I mean he when he had
all that, I mean again, his line's really good, so
when he has protection, it's like completion completion. But as
soon as he gets on the run, dude, he's trash.
It is awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
You're a Cowboys fan?

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Yeah, yeah, Two things here, One you're a Cowboys fan,
and two it's preseason. It does nothing matters. I know,
didn't Trey Land play good?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Trey Lance is killing it right, that's my point, Like.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Shred William's even playing. You know, no, of course, he's not,
so none of that matters.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
I don't watch.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
I can't watch. I've not watched Hard Knocks, not for
the same reason.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
So Hard Knocks is like, you learn that Caleb kind
of a cool dude, and guy's got like kind of
I don't know, you would think he was the number
one Pig's got a lot of nerves going in, but
he's not. He's very confident in himself, which is cool. Dude.
His receiving core is way better than I thought. How
but you I hadn't. I just forgot that all those
guys were.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Even their first round pick.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Who's coming from Washington, who was probably their fourth, third
or fourth receiver?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, Dj Moore, I mean you got Keenan Allen just
I just forgot, yeah, Comet. And then Simone Biles husband's
on the team. That's kind of cool. I learned that
on Hard Knocks he missed the first week of preseason
go to the Olympics. That is really cool. And then
our boy, Austin Reeves, Austin Reid, he's on the team.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yeah, weaks.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Different as really.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
I still have his the ball he signed and gave me.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I have a glove that he signed.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Is he going to make the team.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I don't know. Right now. He's the third guy. Right now,
he's the third guy fighting for the third spot.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
I've not watched any of it, so I'm I do
not know. I know I watched John Rey's plumbley he
was the Steelers. I think he's their third quarterback. You
know we did that with you see f with him? Yeah,
down with him, Cooper Bebe. He's doing really well. He
should got him in the center.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
They do.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
He should play, Yeah, a significant minute. I don't know
if he's gonna start.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
He might, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
What's you're a Cowboys fan, he's gonna play.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
I mean I think he will play. I think he's
our center and that's what the that's what they have
him doing now.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Cooper BB, for those wondering, is the athlete we worked
with at Kansas State.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
It was an All American. It was awesome. I push
him Arond a little bit.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
If I'm being honest, Well, we didn't play at all.
I think he let us push it.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
But you're in your hard knocks, in your Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Oh it, dude, I'm so in. It's awesome. It's so
cool to just see and I'm trying to watch as
much football as I can first quarter at least, just
to kind of see how everyone's kind of playing. It's
it's just fun to watch, man.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
I agree, it's fun to watch, But what do you
mean to see everyboy playing? Because you just gave us
two examples of how people are playing. The aren't indictive
at all.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
No, no, no, I told you brock Perty is gonna
suck again. And awesome Lance. Trey Lance is awesome, right,
so that goes down. I forget Cooper Rush and go
straight to Trey Lance. Man, it's just cool to see.
As a Cowboys fan, I have not seen our quarterback
scramble like that, and it's so cool to see Trey
Lance run the ball.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
But that's not even what you want. What do you
mean if they're having a scramble, it means they have
no protection.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I get it, but they're scared. But it happens. It
happens to the best line. Somebody sneaks through, a blitz
comes in.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
You just want you my boy colored glasses on. That's fine, fine,
I have no problem with that.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
It is we're.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Here, though, and it's so exciting.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Everybody thinks the Cowboys are gonna suck though.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, just because you know, see you guys not signed yet.
I get it. I get it. There's a lot of
what ifs out there.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
I don't think so I bet them to win super
Bowl only because that was pressure too.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
It's still a good Batman lost Gilmour.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Now, yeah, where you signed a one year deal with
like somebody North Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah, one of those cold teams.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Yeah, it's I like how the agents it was like
Gilmore signs a one year, ten million dollar deal, but
seven millions guaranteed with incentives, so not really a ten
million dollar deal but seven and some change.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
What's crazy too on Hard Knocks is you know they
run through some of the rookies and they go up
and talk in front of the team, and before they talk,
they got to say what their bonus, their signing bonus was,
and with Kale that clip yeah kaylebs, you know, two
point five twenty five point five million or whatever. Oh crazy,
And this other guy comes up and he's like, yeah,
twenty thousand.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
The other guy started him for a while last Yeah.
His dad's arm wrestling remembriam. No, he's a big cross face.
Dad was like championship champion armss. No, I don't know,
so you're not really fallowing anything other than that episode.
You remember you remember last year at all with the Bears?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Okay, no, is he the same guy?

Speaker 4 (05:48):
So?

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Do who watched Hard Badgine?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
You're talking about Badge?

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Right?

Speaker 4 (05:51):
I haven't watched. I've just seen clips. I don't have HBO.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Okay, No, I was just talking about another guy. I
think he's a defensive lineman.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Maybe they got talking about when he's like freaking out
when Calybs is twenty five million.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah. No, that's not how I was talking about. That's
another guy that.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
He only saw the clip.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Dude, you didn't watch It's good? Eh, I got too
many shows, but it's only two episodes. I don't want
to make fantasy deis. Actually I don't make fantasy decisions
based off that crap. I get that because I like
win my leagues?

Speaker 2 (06:18):
What ily do that?

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Though?

Speaker 4 (06:20):
I only play two leagues, usually playing one, but I
have two close friends, and I either win my league
or I'm in the top four every time every.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Year, all of the four.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Is that a thing?

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Well, it's because you have to the playoffs and then
you just kind of shake it and let's see what's up? Yeah, okay,
so I'm always in the playoffs. I'll jinx it this
year and I won't be. But yes, I either either
win the league or I'm in the top three or
four every year, and I can't be dicking around.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Is that seriously?

Speaker 2 (06:42):
It's because you're good at trading and making deals.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
It's because I'm a hawk on the freaking waiver wire,
like I'm looking to see who's actually getting to play,
or who's hurt or having handcuffs to backs or that
type stuff. That's probably why nobody really trades with me anymore,
because I why trying.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
To get a good deal.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Yeah, because he's swindle That sound swindling.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
You guys do a lot of trading in your league.
We don't ever trade. There's mid used to be a
lot when people trade me a lot again, like seven
players for one Well, but.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, the trades are so dumb, like you got like
these oh you got to give me these two starters
and I'll give you these three trash players. I'm like,
that's dumb trade.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
But nobody makes so there's not a lot of trading anymore.
But the difference is if you have a bunch of
players that are hurt.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Sometimes you have to take four mid players and give
up one really good with a mid just to fill
your roster, where guys like Eddie will just die and
not make any decisions instead of trying to improve his
team and then hope and then yell at somebody who's
making a trade to try to better their team and
make fun of them while he's also in twelfth place.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
My problem is I start feeling like they're real humans,
you know, and I'm just like, I don't want to
hurt their feelings.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
I do have video game characters.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Let me just see what they can do.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I'm like, NCAA, I'll be like some guy named Wilson
who's not even a real player. I'm like, man, he really,
he's not really early. He's depending on me, like he
committed early. So I'm really gonna let the emotionally attacked
fan players man that.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
All right, let's go to the tittle tattle. Here we go,
the ttle tottle.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
We just spent a couple of days in New York
City and I was wondering, where does that city rank
on your big city list?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
In what way?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Like did I enjoy?

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Like, where do you enjoy going the most or least.
I mean, I don't love going to New York. It's
just so much and it's a lot of everything. Okay,
so I'm gonna go Chicago at one, but I think
what affects that a bit.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I'm a massive Cups fan.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
But if it's not winter, anytime other than winter, I
do like Chicago and I like Boston a lot great cities.
Let's just remove winter from any conversation whatsoever, Okay, because
I don't I don't want to go anywhere in the winter.
Chicago and Boston up there. I don't really like going
to LA It's too far. First of all, I gotta
get on a freaking four hour flight. Well forget the distance, no,

(08:59):
because it's part of it.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
It is sure.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
If you're taking weather out of it, distance should be
out of it too.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
He asked me the question.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Answer the question, Bunce.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Takes me longer to recoup when I'm there, and then
I'm carsick the whole time because traffic's terrible. So I'm
gonna go Chicago Boston and that's kind of it.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
In the A tier.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
In the B tier, did you like Sioux Falls or
something that's not a major city, that's capital or something
in it. They don't have over a million people. That's
not even a medi that's not even a medium city.
It's nice though over there, huh. I would say Atlanta.
I like Atlanta. I think Atlanta gets a bad rat sometimes.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Miami. I don't like Miami that much, not really even
not really for me.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
I'd probably put New York in the mid tier than Miami,
and I put Dallas in the mid tier, like like
major markets. I'm going major markets like one's New York,
two's La three, Chicago for San Francisco. Five I think
is Houston. Dallas is in that. Boston, all those those
are the top ten cities. What do you do in
Dallas when MVPs have all started get Yeah, and it

(10:11):
just spent a bunch of time there because they lived
in Austin forever and six Flags and I was a kid,
Church went down there once a year.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
So A tier is going to be Chicago in Boston.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
B tier is going to be Dallas, Atlanta, New York
could be.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
In the mid tier.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
C tier is gonna be Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Houston,
dead last.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I don't mind.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
It just depends what's up with Houston, Like what you're
going there for?

Speaker 7 (10:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (10:47):
If I'm going to.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Like get robbed our number one there like or like
you have somebody pulled a gun on me in the highway.
If that's why we're like, let's go on a trip
to get their guns pulled on us.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Cool, But I don't mind Houston's I've spent a bunch
of time there because again from Austin we go over
draw astro games. Fine, that would be my answer there.
I what else you got?

Speaker 8 (11:06):
All?

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Right? College football kicking off this weekend?

Speaker 6 (11:08):
Do you think Dju at Florida State will finally live
up to.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
His hype coming out of high school? I can enjoy
he didn't try to say his last name, and you
did try, you got it there.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
He's been three places this time, right, Clemson, and then
he went up Northwest played one of those schools, right yeah,
Oregon State. Yeah, and all those are like funny to
me now. They're all the same except for Oregon, which
we've been to. We have been to Washington yet, but
we did have the coach on Jed. Yeah, I don't
Jed correct practicing that one. I don't know, I have

(11:41):
no I don't know, it's this third school, like there's
something happening or he wouldn't be at a third school.
That that to me is the big indicator of it's
something more than just his ability to throw a football.
So just based on that, he was in the same
class as Bryce Young, which is.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Crazy, and like, yeah, like that, Brices feel like he's
I mean, it's only been one year, but it feels
like he's been in the league for a while.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yeah, oh yeah, you're right.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Compared to you're right, Brunce has only been up one
This is well it's his second year though, and this
kid's still in college. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
I do. I think he will live up to his hype.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I'm gonna go know because obviously there's something happening more
than just his ability to play ball, because they brought
him in what after after at Clemson after Trevor Lawrence
right wasn't in the next guy up and he just wasn't.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
So nah pass next, which.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
That's funny.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
Which play impressed you Moore over the weekend Caleb Williams
and his game where Patrick Mahomes and buying that behind
the back pass.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
You didn't watch? Did you watch them?

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I watched I saw clips of all that. Yeah, no,
do have fresh on clips, Like I got them all
up there, seen all the clips. Uh. The thing that
was hilarious to me about the Caleb Williams is Bears
fans and even some media, and I understand they're click
chasing a bit. They're like, it's the greatest look at this.
He's the number one No Bears quarterback has ever justin fields.
It all this craft last year, all the ducking a tackle, uh,

(13:06):
scrambling right backflip left run it justin Fields did all
of this. I'm not saying he's justin fields, but the acting,
like the Stuffkayleb Williams is doing is new and exciting
for Chicago, unlike anything they've ever had. That part of
the game they'd had. So I thought that I still
think Caleb was.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Gonna be really good.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
M got a pretty good offensive line, a lot of weapons,
good defense, pretty good defense. The Patrick mahomeson was just funny,
and you know they're just like it's preseason, let's dick around.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
And the fact that because I was listening to an
interview after and he was like, no, we didn't have
that planned.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
I just did it.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
But If that's true and Kelsey still caught the ball,
that's pretty cool. It kind of feels like, if that's true,
like that's a cool draw play because that really wasn't
a draw. He was kind of rolling under the right
and kind of went beyond Kelsey and it almost like
a screen type.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
It felt like a screen, but it really wasn't.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
I don't think one of those like shovel pass.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
There was a quarterback back in like the seventies or eighties,
and maybe even like Jim Plunkett.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
You have to look it up.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Who's to throw behind the back passes in games? He
did a couple of those, like would chunk them.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
And it may not be.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Plunkett, but it's one of those other guys that's like,
oh but mcgranapall saw him, but he would throw them
in games.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Who's Plunkt? Who do you play for?

Speaker 4 (14:19):
I'm gonna guess the Browns. I have no idea. Okay,
I've seen him on a couple football cards.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I keep picturing Kurby Puckett, Jim Plunkett pack it's a
gym is that?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I don't know. Plunkett feels like a plunk Let's just
name associate Plunket. He sounds like he'd be a Midwesterner. Good,
I say, Raiders.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Oh that's probably that could be right.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
I don't know why that could be right.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
So look both up. One Jim Plunkett played four.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
The Patriots. There you go, there we go?

Speaker 3 (14:51):
And then who's to throw them behind the back pass?

Speaker 4 (14:54):
And I typed it? And of course all I get
is my home. All right, we'll come back on that one,
all right, all right, So they were both fun. They
don't mean anything. It's pre season, not letting it if
up my fantasy football drafting. All right, go ahead, all right.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
Last one, after naming Gardner Minshew the starter, were you
surprised by the Raiders' decision?

Speaker 4 (15:10):
No, I mean Gardner minshe played well with Colts last year.
He's got cool hair. I feel like it was his
job to lose. Aight O'Connell was the other quarterback there,
and I'm not surprised. I don't think I would have
been surprised either way, but I guess I expected Minshew
to have to take that job. I feel like if
they thought Aight O'Connell was the guy, they probably would

(15:31):
not have brought Minshew in. Like I think it was
Minshew's to prove he wasn't the starter more than it
was a straight competition, or Minshew wouldn't have even gone there. Yeah,
because they told he finally had a little bit of
leverage for the first time in a while because he
played he was a Pro bowler. I mean, so we
were to everybody gets in Pro Bowl team. But he
finally made the Pro Bowl, which is really cool, and

(15:51):
so he had a little bit of leverage. It's free agent,
so not surprised. Just haven't thought about it, Like give
no craps.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
How about that?

Speaker 4 (15:58):
There we go, like give zero craps and so didn't
think about it. What do you see over there?

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Well, Plunkett actually was drafted by the Patriots then went
to the Raiders. That's where he went to two Super
Bowls with Okay, as far as other quarterbacks, wars, give
warm Moon credit.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
It's all behind the back, Drew Brees.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
That's definitely not true.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Are you on Reddit? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:20):
That was read?

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, all right, there you go. That's a tittle tattle.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Thank you, stupid name.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
The tittle tattle. All right, we're back.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
I don't like week zero, it's the first week of games,
but it only like four games.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, but you can bet. I like it for bet.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
That's what we're gonna talk about here. Kind of warm
me up a little bit. Week zero is kind of stupid, though.
The game in ireland's cool. I like last year too,
when they played those games. They played one in Ireland, right,
last year too, Yeah, I think Notre damn Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
That's right. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Was it Notre Dame Michigan. It couldn't have been. No,
not that big, but I Notre Dame Navy or something
something like that.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
I think.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Yeah, So we got four games.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
We got Florida State versus Georgia Tech and Dublin, Ireland,
Montana State at New Mexico, SMU at Nevada, and Delaware
State at Hawaii. That's pretty fun if you're Delaware State.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
To go to Hawaii, yeah, yeah, and then good for
us to night owls too. Long way.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
It's a long way from here. Imagine like it's an
eleven hour flight from here. It is, Yeah, because you
gotta stop or you gotta go to Atlanta and then
go I've done it a few times. If you go
backwards to go to Hawaii, well sometimes sometimes to connect
you can do that too. If you go La, it's
like four and a half and then six six and
a half and that's without even sitting there.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
It's called a layover.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Hey. But once you get to HAWAIID it's a beautiful
I love it.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Yeah, low overrated.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
What if you ask me, I'm not a beach guy.
I've been four times for all for work. But I've
been four times and it's like, yeah, I can see
just as a good to beach.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
In San Diego.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
That's not true.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
They're in volcanoes stuff.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Isn't it cool to see the palm trees and the
mountains and the.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
Which is not my thing.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
It sounds like California exactly.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Uh So we're gonna parlay it up.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I mean we have to do.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
We have to three again three on games. We don't
even know anything about the game zero. I know nothing
about it.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Okay, I'm gonna pick three winners here.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Come on, bones, you gotta go Hawaii, right because they're
not trailing all that way.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
And it's Delaware State. They didn't real team. Come on, okay,
we're gonna go Hawaii.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
That's the process.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
It's just week one. I'm not loose.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
What spread on that? Yeah, there's no line. I know, okay,
but yeah, it's just I'm just taking. Yeah, we're taking
Hawaiian money line. It's Montana State and New Mexico. Montana
State is a nine and a half point favorite. Okay,
we're gonna win this person, got dang it. We're taking
Montana State money line. Okay, they're nine and a half

(18:52):
point favorite. They better not lose, and then SMU at Nevada.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Isn't supposed to be good.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
Yeah, they are twenty seven and a half point favorite.
We're gonna take SMU minus twenty seven and a half.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Oh, yeah, you're doing the money line.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
I was, but I feel like Week one.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Whenever these massive spreads happen, I usually jump on the
massive spread because the teams usually run away with it.
And it's really hard to go SMU minus forty because
innveryboy'll jump on the other side. There's what we're gonna do.
We're going Hawaii money line, Montana State money line SMU
minus twenty seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Dang, I didn't.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
I was gonna naw that one that quick. Come on, dude,
I'm already in the groove.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Let's go.

(20:10):
gonna get over now to talk with the newest member
of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever Front Office, Joey
g He when he came in, we read as a
long title. He's a very long title for the NBA,
and we learned during the interview he was going to
We had no idea.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
We were not tipped off about this.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
He thought we were messling with him.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Yes, So Joe's been working with the NBA for a while,
and he went to Paris and with the NBA and
we talked a lot about that. So again I did
not know because I said, I will give ten thousand
dollars to the charity of her or the fever's choice
to go and shoot and get some shooting lessons for
Kaitlin Clark for an hour and I was just kind
of telling the story because we're talking about Haliburton or something,

(20:47):
and you'll hear it all here. So I'm going to
text him today because I think he just got the job.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yeah, he had today, he started.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
That's the interview.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
He's probably in a meeting right now talking about you.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
I don't know if that's the case to Caitlin, k
k ky baby. So but this was great because he
was with the team. We did talk Olympics, we talked
to all this. So here he is. This is our guy,
Joey G Joey. I have your title. I want to
read the title because I could remember this. I was
told some really wonderful things about you, but I need

(21:20):
to read your specific title. Senior vice president, head of
Global Event Strategy and Development, National Basketball Association.

Speaker 9 (21:27):
That's a lot of word.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
That's a lot of words. There was no chance I
was going to remember that.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
Now.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
What I was told was, you're freaking awesome. You activate
lots of really cool things, and you were at the Olympics.

Speaker 7 (21:36):
I have those are all somewhat true, boom, which is
enough we probably need.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
We're in okay, so let's start with the Olympics. Talk
to me the Serbia game. We're down too, they have
the ball, they missed that three pointer, thank thank god.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
Be a little tight about that.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
Point, unbelievably nervous. I was with the CEO of USA Basketball,
Jim Tooley. I watched him not be able to be
in the room. We were pacing back and forth. What
people also forget about that that game was there was
a six point play, and that six point play changed
the entire game where we got we hit a three,
got fouled, and then hit a three again, Devin Booker.

(22:14):
That doesn't happen in the NBA at most. That's either
a four point play or or we uh or were
just getting a foul and the balls going down. That
changed the entire play, And so like under FEBA rules,
that that play was allowed doesn't happen in the NBA
and we may not win that game.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
FEBA rules I liked.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know, and I was like,
I'm like goal, Like, I'm loyal to America.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
We hate Phoebe rules. Actually I didn't know what FEVER
rules really were. I liked the pace of the game
under FEBA rules.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
I think there's a couple of great things as a fan. One,
the games are quick, right, I think that's something you know.
Our team is hyper focused on at the NBA is
how do you increase pace to play? And we think
a lot about about last two minutes replays, all those items.
What I think FOBA showed was people love how quickly
the game moves. And then it really showcases the athleticism.

Speaker 9 (22:59):
And you need shooters because you can pack the pain.
It's a completely different game.

Speaker 7 (23:02):
And I think why you see so many of those
international teams guys who've been playing together since they were kids.
And the challenge of our team is the greatest players
on Earth, but they're coming together with weeks a month
of practice. It's really hard challenge. And to be able
to win two gold medals for our five on five
teams really really special. And to be on the front

(23:23):
end from the first day of training camp in Las
Vegas through the last game in Paris, like I got
to see things you wouldn't expect.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Okay, talk some senson to me because as an average fan,
die hard, but average fan of the NBA college basketball
I think there are twelve players and they're all a plus.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
Who cares if they practice together?

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Because you feel like if there's Lebron and KD and
Steph and ant who cares if they practice together?

Speaker 5 (23:47):
They're just that good.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
It seems that I would not be correct with my
thought process.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Why is that? Why can't they just go and be awesome?
If they're all awesome?

Speaker 7 (23:57):
I think there's I think there's a chemistry, right Like
at the end end of the day, there's one ball
and it's got to be shot by one person.

Speaker 9 (24:02):
Who takes that shot? How do they take it in
the rhythm of the offense?

Speaker 7 (24:05):
I think you saw it from Steph who is as
the greatest shooter of all time, and he was deferring
for not just a game for weeks early on, especially
just stay up one or trying to make sure that
other guys got into the rhythm of the game and
I think that's hard, right, and these other teams that
have played together, you know, our NBA teams that are
playing together, you know who the ball is going to be,
who the SHOT's going to go up. And I think

(24:26):
that's a real challenge about in the flow of the offense,
how do you keep everybody involved, how do you create rotations.
Steve Kerr obviously got challenged all the time about who
he was putting in games and when and how, And
I think that's the part that doesn't just come together.
You need time, and our team doesn't have that time
because of the way in which the team is put together.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Looking at the coaching staff when it was Kerr and
it was Spoulstra but even like coach few from yeah,
from Franken Zagazaga, like how does he get that job?
One that's pretty coold to have a college coach there,
and then two that's so legit to go back to
your college.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
It'll be like ours jokes with Lebron.

Speaker 9 (24:59):
I mean and Tyler who was there.

Speaker 7 (25:01):
And you think about the challenge obviously that we have
with Kawhi Leonard, which started off the summer and ty
lose his coach during the year, and to me, What
was great was that each of them took a role.
Spoe took the offense, ty took the defense. Few was
was working on inbounds play. Steve short of was the
master across all of it. And watching these guys in practice,
you forget them much.

Speaker 9 (25:19):
They just love to coach.

Speaker 7 (25:21):
And what USA Basketball forwards them is that there's not
this huge staff like they have on an NBA team.
Before the game, when Steph's doing his warm up, you've
got Spoe passing them the ball. You have Spoe rebounding
like that's taking guys back twenty five years into their career,
and everybody's willing to do it because they care about
the flag, they care about USA, they care about this.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Moment and winning a gold medal, and so all egos
go aside.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
I want to talk about Tyree Taliburton for a second.
We went and worked out with the Pacers this year.
I loved the organization. He didn't play.

Speaker 9 (25:49):
Are you saying this on purpose?

Speaker 5 (25:50):
No?

Speaker 7 (25:51):
No, you know I'm leaving the NBA. My last day's
next Friday. I'm moving to Indiana. I feel like you're
doing this on purple. Yeah, I feel like you're messing
with me.

Speaker 9 (25:58):
But I feel like you're mes am not.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
But we became we became a fan of the Pacers
organization because we actually got to go spend time with
the people to get to happen.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
We went to the game. I drove the little car
on it for of course. Yeah, so Haliburton did get
hurt that game. That game. Yeah that's right, he did
get hurt.

Speaker 9 (26:13):
Will you be my guests this year?

Speaker 5 (26:15):
And wait, so you're gonna work for the Pacers.

Speaker 9 (26:16):
You're going to work for the Pacers the fever and
the Fever Monday.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
So let me let me tell you somebody, hold on,
hold up this little great I swear to god, nobody
told me, but I need to tell you what happened
on my show, the radio show yesterday. So I'm going
I swear to you first of all, knowing we didn't
know you were. This is why this is exciting to us.
So I got on my show yesterday. I'm going coach
cal who's now the coach at Arkansas. That's that's my school.
I'm gonna go do a thirty and over adult basketball

(26:43):
camp for a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
And that's not the joke.

Speaker 5 (26:45):
Yeah, it's not the joke.

Speaker 9 (26:46):
I still got it, though I don't.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Well, I never.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
I'm still a MLB celebrity All Star Game.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
I just want MVP at that, which was super cool.
So I got. I listened to your radio show.

Speaker 9 (26:55):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
I'm a fan of you.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
So I have it.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
I have it a little bit just left and so,
but I don't have basketball.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
So what I said was because I have been from
the beginning, and everybody is, but especially me, and they
can vouch I'm the biggest Kaylyn Clark fan.

Speaker 5 (27:07):
Okay, he is for different reasons.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
But I said on my show, I said I would
give ten thousand dollars to any charity. I just want
an hour of shooting lessons from Kaitlyn. I will drive
up there, and whatever charity gets some money, great, But
I need to learn how to shoot from somebody I respect.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
Okay, so when you're up there.

Speaker 9 (27:25):
That's just let's see if listen, I bet I can
get that done.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
And whatever charity we want, let's do it, let's do it.
And no more than that.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
But if I just want to learn from the best, great,
I don't want to learn from medium.

Speaker 9 (27:36):
I mean, why would you, right right, That's what was
awesome about the Olympics and for the best of the best.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Well, so my original question was about Halliburton, who didn't play,
and at the end, you know, made the funny tweet
he was like when you get the aid in the
group project. But then it turns out maybe he was
hurt a little bit and what.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Was happening there.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
He had a little bit of a calf issue for sure,
But obviously I mean, listen, he's the next generation of players.

Speaker 9 (27:57):
I think he was brought in for two things.

Speaker 7 (27:59):
One the pace in games where we had to play fast,
and so you saw him play that. He's in my mind,
he's the best point guard in the league, true point guard.
He distributes the ball, he's passed first, but he's also
got a lot of his game that he's got to
get better at.

Speaker 9 (28:12):
He knows that. And watching him on the bench, what
he was doing was.

Speaker 7 (28:16):
Picking the brain the guys like Bam out of Bio
and watching KD and thinking about how Lebron practices. I
will tell you from being there every day you watch
how people became great, and there are guys who play
below their talent. There are guys who play to their talent,
and there are guys who were exceed their talent.

Speaker 9 (28:33):
Watching somebody like Steph.

Speaker 7 (28:34):
Curry, I'm in awe every single day and he was struggling,
he was getting roasted in the media, and every day
he put himself through a workout with his team every
single day besides practice. This is in the summer. He
doesn't have to do that. His legacy is cemented and
every single day the guy put himself through an hour workout.
For somebody like Tyrese, watching that and understanding what it requires,

(28:55):
the sacrifices to be great, as I know you have, man,
I know where you came from, I know what you built,
like the.

Speaker 9 (29:00):
Hours you put into this craft. That's the stuff people
don't get.

Speaker 7 (29:03):
That's the stuff that I think things like the Olympics
can showcase is these behind the scenes moments where you're
watching people decide to do not what is easy, not
what is in their best interests, but they're sacrificing to
be personally great.

Speaker 9 (29:15):
And that fires me up. I love every bit of that.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Two final questions both about it. We have to be
friends after this too. By the way, I like no
I do. I was like it running hey, Kevin, but
you didn't tell me he was moving in Indiana.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Did you. He definitely didn't tell me. That's so crazy.

Speaker 9 (29:31):
Feel like this is so crazy.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Kusher's coming. I'm getting punked right No, no, no at all. Okay,
So here about two questions. One is the twenty twenty
eight team. Yep, what a guy. And I don't know
how personally affected he was. I did see him like
repost some stuff on his Instagram story, Tatum, he did,
but he was also like zero for ten, like there,
whatever side do you want to hear.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
For twelve whatever it was from shooting.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Would he come back and play in the Olympics after
what happened this last year.

Speaker 7 (29:58):
I don't want to speak for Jason, but I mean, listen,
Jason's a champion, right. He's one of the best players
in the NBA, and people forget he was instrumental to
the team in Tokyo. I mean, he was part of
the reason why we won that Olympic gold. He's a
champion on every level. So to think that he's not
going to take it personal, of course he is, but
to also think that that's not going to motivate him
in certain ways and that he's going to maybe you know,

(30:20):
open up for an opportunity to come back and prove
to the world again the credible talent he is.

Speaker 9 (30:25):
I certainly also wouldn't put that past Jayson Tatum. I
think he is a star on every level.

Speaker 7 (30:29):
And I'll say from being around the team all the time,
it never impacted his relationships with the guys really, and
I think that is a statement of somebody that you
can really admire. And obviously, I mean, listen, link at
the ties Grant Hill put the team together.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
He's a duke guy.

Speaker 9 (30:42):
Tatum's a duke guy.

Speaker 7 (30:43):
Right, There's so many ties going back to these kids
from when they were young players. And to be able
to stomach that, to take that on as a true
testament to his personality and his growth as a man.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
I appreciate you being here. Get myself phone number from him.
We're gonna be friends even if I didn't even know you.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
That's so crazy.

Speaker 9 (31:06):
I mean, I will see not no way, wait, I'm
going to see you in Indy.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
I'm going to hold we're in fan. I literally said
it on my show yesterday.

Speaker 9 (31:12):
So I will see you in Indy.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
Okay, Okay, thank you, yes, yes, yah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
thank you.

Speaker 9 (31:17):
First man.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Appreciate it, brother, so An update on what happened in
New York. We go and we spent a few days
at fanatics Fest, which is pretty cool. They had all
kinds of stuff sports and but I took this box
of cards with me that I had spent a significant
amount of money on, which I think we said on
the show, I spent thirteen thousand dollars on this box
of cards, which what's up.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
That's terrible, A lot of money, has a.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Lot of money with the idea of if you hit
a Lebron Carmelo and Dwayne Wade any of these cards
and rookie cards, it's instantly gonna pay for itself, and
maybe a whole lot more. But sports cards, and if
you listen to the show on Friday, they came out
sports cards.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
It's it's like stock and gambling and sports all in one.
And like, I get the game.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
I love the game.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
So we wait and we open the.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
Cards, and we open the cards and it's it's terrible
and it's just a bunch of garbage.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
And I basically lost thirteen thousand dollars, right, how's it
a garbage?

Speaker 4 (32:14):
You know?

Speaker 3 (32:15):
I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Yeah, there's like an amar Stodomayre rookie, but all together,
probably there's about five hundred bucks worth of cards out
of a thirteen thousand dollars buck. I don't like losing
thirteen dollars, right.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
No, No, I don't like losing it either.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
And so we waited un till day two, at the
end of the day, and we got on a table
and we shot it all and Reid has all the
video and we'll eventually put it all up. You know
what it felt like, because I kept trying to identify it.
It felt like because the feeling felt so familiar. It
felt like a big day of losing at the casino
and you just leave. And I've had plenty of those

(32:52):
where you just go and it is it doesn't matter
red or black, it doesn't matter you're playing black jack,
it's the crabs table.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
You're just like, what just happened?

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Your stomach turns and like you just feel sick.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
So another thing, let's say, Kevin, let's just hypothetically speaking. Okay,
let's say you and I are at the casino and
let's do roulette, and you take all your chips and
you like, I've had a bad day, and it's like
a thousand bucks and you're like, I'm gonna put a
thousand bucks on red. I'm just trying to let's go

(33:26):
and then it hits black and I'm with you right now.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
I'm with you as your friend. What do you expect
me to do?

Speaker 4 (33:34):
Say? Heybody, some of us we have tough days. Right now,
you're having a tough day.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
Yeah, and I think it's just time to call it
a day and live to bet, gamble whatever it is
another day.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
That or nothing, meaning you just go, oh, let's just
get out of here, Like, yeah, that too, you just whatever.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
I got a lawyer tatter today because he started a
bit immediately after I lost thirteen thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
It wasn't my idea.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
I saw that it wasn't my idea. I let me
tell what happens. We do so like I'm ill again.
But it felt familiar. And also I know the game.
I didn't get in going a half to win Our
life is good.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
I know the game.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
I've been playing this game for a long time, and
sometimes you just lose. And it's also okay if for
like an hour you're like that sucked.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
A week you're like that sucked.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
Now a week's by too much don't play the game
if it's a week so regardless, and it's all relative
to where you are financially doing pretty good right now,
or I wouldn't be buying at thirty thousand dollars box
of cards. So we open it, we wait for two days,
and Reid had bought like a twenty dollars box of
baseball cards earlier and he was just gonna.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Take them home do whatever with.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
And so I'm sitting here and I'm opening these cards
and one by one I'm pulling them out, and it's
just dog crap after dog crap.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Which two things are gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Either I'm about to hit big because it's been all
dog crap and they're waiting to put the big card
because that happens at times, or it's just a garbage ball,
or back in the day that wasn't a garbage box,
like a stot of Meyer with an auto stodomer or
a Steve Nash wasn't audited is a big thing. And
so I get to it and I pulled the last card.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
And it's nothing.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
And I now realized I went to a whole box
of cards possibly valued at five hundred bucks, So down
twelve five, and I'm giving all the cards away anyway,
so pissed off. I know the game though, right, I
don't feel like I've been targeted by God. I don't
feel like anything happened to me wouldn't happen anybody else.
But also, like the day before, Grant Williams, who we
had on you Hear an interview with him next couple

(35:34):
of days, he had never opened a box. He about
once for like ten thousand dollars, hit a hundred thousand
on Luca.

Speaker 10 (35:38):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Yeah, I know it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
So I'm like totally like I'm bad.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
So I go all through my.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Cards and read's filming it will have it all come out,
and as soon as it's over, I'm like, oh.

Speaker 5 (35:51):
Eddie goes right in his back.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Okay, let's do this box now.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
It's a twenty dollars box of baseball cards.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
That was the joke, Mike. It was the joke to
make everybody.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Do you feel if if Kevin lost a thousand bucks
under Lett I ain't making a joke.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
I'm like, that sucks.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
Let's go just at Eddie exactly. And so then Reid
moves the camera and they start recording, and I'm like, huh, like,
just give me a minute, man, just give me a minute.
And there's a total loss. But what I'm gonna do
is in my bag. I kept the one Amari auto
card that I thought was gonna be a lebron for
a second because we just saw autograph on it anyway,
So it's pissed it Eddy for like five seconds. And

(36:29):
then but that all I'm gonna make it into a
necklace and it's gonna remind.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Me the stottam Ir.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Yeah, I'm gonna put a hole in it.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
They hold you accountable already. I am already accountable, and
I never go deeper than what I'm okay with losing.
I've been gambled my whole life.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
So why were you mad at me?

Speaker 4 (36:48):
Because in that moment, right when you were okay with
losing it. No, no, I'm not okay with losing it. I'm
okay with the idea of I might lose if I
do this, or I wouldn't do it. There's a difference.
At the time, it's a punching the balls, even if
it's not that. The whole day at the casino, you're like, oh,
I just lost. You don't want your buddy be like
ha ha sucker. Yeah no, it's like the Cowboys losing.

(37:10):
Somebody calling You'll be like, yes, how do you feel
about that?

Speaker 7 (37:13):
Idiot?

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Just different? Yeeah, that speaks loud, yeah hard.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
It's not me sending you a video of like next
week's matchup. Yeah, I guess who's in the NFC Championship
next week, So I'll make me a little necklace out him.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
But I'm put a hole in it. It's just gonna
remind me.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
That that if you're going to play the game, sometimes
it's not gonna work out, and don't play the game
if you're not okay with the worst possible scenario. So
and I'm okay with that. And I was an hour
and a half later, I was back to normal.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Fully back. Are you fully back? An hour and a half?
I you're fully back?

Speaker 4 (37:48):
Now, I'm not fully I'm reliving it in my head.
I don't think about it anymore, like I'm beyond that.
But now that I relive it, and remember Eddie doing
a little three stooges bit, okay, time to open this
twenty dollars box of cards because people had gathered around
and I was just like, oh, just so deflated.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
I'm gonna make a little necklace. Im'nna wear it.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
It's like, remember you got in that game and you're
okay with it, you don't like it, be okay with it,
don't buy it off more than you could chew, but
keep biting as long as you know.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
You might choose some.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
Birdy growth sometimes, but there're gonna be big wins too.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
I guess that's a big wins.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Would you buy another one of those boxes?

Speaker 10 (38:30):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (38:31):
The problem now is I don't I'm not sure that
thing wasn't CT scanned, and there's no way for me
to know it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
So that's where my head is now, which is crazy
that people do that.

Speaker 8 (38:41):
I do gotta say the wrapping on it was like
it almost looked too good, like it was so perfect,
like it was sealed. I know, the sealed though, I
imagine like there'd be something like, no.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
It was sealed.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
And here's how you tell the difference in the seals
if they're still sealed with the actual brand.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
That's how you know it's not been messed with.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
There are some places that will pull the seal, like
this is upper deck and you saw the upper deck
on the actual seal, So that was on there, that
was on there, and all the boxes they're perfectly sealed,
which is why I read you thought they were well,
perfectly sill perfect. But that one shook out in a
way that I didn't find to be my favorite. But

(39:20):
if you're gonna play the game, you're gonna take, if
you're gonna go hard and take big risks, sometimes you're
going to lose badly, but other times you're gonna freaking dominate.
That's how I've lived my whole career, so how I
lived my life. It sucked for a minute that he
made a bad decision, pretty pissed, but it was only
like ten seconds of bisiness, and then I moved on
because I realized he was He wasn't doing it to

(39:41):
like poke me. But then I thought to myself, what
I've done that to him at a casino if he'd
lost big on the no, I wouldn't have.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
I don't know, like, oh man.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
Let's get out of sorry dude, Yeah yeah, yeah, so
I don't and I did.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
I said, sorry, man, whatever, put my head down. I
eve't like rubbed your shoulders, sorry about that. And then
I saw the crowd. I'm like, oh, that's kind of cool.
They're still here. It would be funny.

Speaker 4 (40:01):
Everybody's watching me. I mean the crowd gathered to watch
me break there car and one by one.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Stuyakovich, mother, you didn't get three autos out of that one,
right or two?

Speaker 1 (40:12):
No?

Speaker 5 (40:12):
I got like a bogan?

Speaker 4 (40:13):
Yeah who like works at the post office?

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Now, no offense? I think it was if that's his name.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
H Those card people though, they they bank at that thing.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
People that sell those boxes and cards, they make so
much money.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
But you think that because you're only seeing the money
that is being spent. There's a lot of times where
they buy those boxes and they are not able to
sell it again. If they were just banking, everybody would
be doing it.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Well, there were hundreds of vendors there, and lots, I
mean so many.

Speaker 4 (40:49):
Right, but you go to a flea market there are
hundreds of vendors there. You're like, man, they're just banking.
If it were so easy to bank, everybody would be banking.
I'm sure there were many people there that took a lot.
Those boots cost thirty four thirty three hundred bucks just
to have a booth. So unless you sold enough just
to break even, so everybody what it felt like everybody's

(41:09):
making It's like your friends who gamble all the time.
You're like, man, they went all the time. No, no, no,
they just don't talk about their losses.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
So that's the update. It sucked. Lived to fight another day.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
I can't wait to fight another day.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
But when you fight another day, I'm not gonna.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
Be But that box, though, could be one hundred and
fifty dollars box for you and you have the same
exact story and feel the same exac wa right, it's
all right, oh yeah, like a relative yeah. And for me,
I just want to be transparent about what it was.
But if somebody was like I did it with one
hundred thousand dollars box of cards and they had a
whole lot more money, it would be like I'd feel
the same way. Right, Oh, there's a tough one.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
What was the coolest thing you saw there?

Speaker 4 (41:50):
Me getting the f out of that city after I lost?
I mean, I think it felt like losing a home game.
It felt like losing an away game. Like I go
to watch arkansall play and it's like, oh, we just
got rocked and Athens, Georgia by Georgia and I'm here
at the stadium. I want to be gone immediately. I
hate everything about this place. I hate the color of Georgia, bulldogs,
I hate Georgia, I hate Athens, I hate the infrastructure

(42:10):
of every city.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
I need to need to.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
Get back home, and I really don't, but in that time,
but that's how I felt immediately after that, like, guys,
let's go, let's get out of here. I hate everything.
I hate Casey's there's from New York though, A new guy.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
I remember your question.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Don't worry about it. We're gonna feeling the same way.
Do we want to get out of there too?

Speaker 3 (42:30):
And I'll go back.

Speaker 4 (42:31):
Yeah, it deflated all of us, all of us. Well,
we spent two days too, like building it up, interviews
about it.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
Yeah, but I'm not done.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Let's go, Baby back in the mix. If there's ever
a warner that makes me a donner, I shouldn't have
done the wonner because I should never get that tattooed.
I should never I should never be risking at all
on one bet of whatever it is that takes me
completely out of that world that's going all in every hand.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
I'm not doing that.

Speaker 4 (43:03):
Taking big swings sometimes, Baby, Sometimes they hit. Most times
they don't, but you need it to just for a
couple of those swings if they do. I saw a
box of like eighty six maybe tops. It was Jordan's
rookie card up for selling golden auctions for like eighty
six thousand dollars, and it's a box of.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
Them and still sealed.

Speaker 4 (43:25):
The CT scanning thing screws me a little bit, but
those are those are only for things that protrude. For
the most part, out of cards, it's hard to tell
each car to throw all flat, so I don't really
worry about that as much. But one Jordan that's rated
as six, it's like twenty thirty thousand dollars. You get
one rated at eight or nine, you're talking a hundred.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Thousands of dollars.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
But you also don't know if he's going to be
in that box.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
And what it does.

Speaker 4 (43:49):
Hey, look he's glowing again.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
Honest.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
No, I'm be honest with you guys, Like when I.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Lose big, he motivates me.

Speaker 2 (44:00):
See it in your eyes?

Speaker 3 (44:01):
It does, it does.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
It motivates me.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
But that was that situation. That's the updates, and that
one sucked. That's a tough one.

Speaker 6 (44:12):
Sorry, man, You inspired Reid though, Yeah, I'd a couple
of boxes of cards.

Speaker 4 (44:17):
Yeah, I got a couple of boxes of cards.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
Yeah, we already talked about this read how that turned out?
I mean not too great?

Speaker 3 (44:28):
Okay, cool story.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
What are you talking about? Motive?

Speaker 4 (44:31):
I don't know, he said, the Wimby cards. You were
looking for a Womby cards? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah, oh yeah, I get a couple of those. Yeah, yeah,
I got a couple of I.

Speaker 5 (44:38):
Did a bit.

Speaker 4 (44:38):
I did a bit on Sports Cards Nonsense podcast because Mike,
who's their host of two guys on the show, he
got sick, wasn't able to come to New York. So
I've been a guest on that show once, and I
know the other guy who guessed on our show Friday,
and Jesse was like, hey, can you come up? And
I was like, if Mike's not here, I can do
whatever you need me to do. Was in a public

(45:00):
podcast with him, and Mike I don'd day they've ever
done that. And then it's just him and I'm like, dude,
I'm here for you whatever, and he goes, can you
do the whole podcast with me? I was like, sure,
but I don't know cards to the point of being
an expert in them. I know how to buy really
expensive ones and lose.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
That's my thing. And he's like, all right, cool.

Speaker 4 (45:14):
So we got up and the Grant Williams thing had
just happened that day, because we did ours the day
after what the Grant Williams thing happened where we opened it,
and so we had a guy on with us as
well who owned a card shop Mojo breaks, and he's
telling the story.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
I'm like, what do you have at your table right now?

Speaker 4 (45:32):
It's like high end and he goes, I don't know,
since it's a guy to get it brings back to
the thousand dollars box of whatever, and I'm on the
podcast you weren't you guys aren't even there for this one. No,
it's a thousand bucks. And I was like, okay, I'll
buy it. Let's open it here on camera. And so
there's a camera over the top one of the big podcasts,
and I'm going right down on the box and you
open it one a time All Garbage gave him to
a kid.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
That was the day before.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
Yeah, yeah, it was a good day. It was a
good time.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
But if you're out with the winner, something about Donner
I forgot about the.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
Part of it. But it's good earlier.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
Yeah, the tattoo today, I don't remember got the tattooed?
Didn't you get one? And then you got one with that,
didn't you?

Speaker 3 (46:10):
Oh yeah, we did that way.

Speaker 4 (46:11):
That sucked to We split that one, no you quick,
If we have that one too, we'll have put out.
We split a ten thousand dollars box. We got him
into eight thousand. Yeah, so it's four each as a garbage.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Get the music, Mike.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
But a wise man once said, if you're gonna play
in Texas, you gotta fill in the.

Speaker 5 (46:36):
God dang it.

Speaker 4 (46:36):
If I want to throw right now, it's gonna be
back in the band soon. And now there's one thing
I don't do. Stop, we're not done, all right.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
Let's do Let's do this commercial real quick.

(48:17):
then we'll wrap. But I did mid game last night
bet on the Fever. Yeah, I was watching Indiana Fever.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
Got it.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
They were.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
I think up one or down one, but there were
plus a point and a half. Because Seattle is really good.
Seattle's like fourth overall on WNBA, and I do have
the WNBA Sunday Ticket, so I.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
Was gonna ask what channel that was on got it?

Speaker 4 (48:43):
That actually wasn't. I went to Sunday Ticket. It's not
called that, it's called the League Pass, but I do
have it only to watch Caitlin Clark and I went
to that and the game wasn't on there. So then
I realized it was on National TV. Oh, so I
went to YouTube TV and watched it maybe on ESPN
or something, and the Fever ended up running them.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
I mean, it's awesome.

Speaker 4 (49:02):
So halfway through, like my betting slept here on DraftKings,
I bet on the Fever plus one and a half.
I bet seven hundred dollars and so I hit for
thirteen hundred, so pretty good.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
So I took that six hundred dollars winnie.

Speaker 4 (49:23):
It's called a winnie winnie, and I bet five hundred
bucks of that six hundred winnie on the Fever to
win it all.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Now they're like ninth.

Speaker 4 (49:35):
No, I think they were eighth yesterday they were in
the playoffs, maybe seven. But they're starting to play really well.
They got some days off. The hardest part of their
schedule was the first half of the year. If they
in listen New York, the Liberty are awesome. You follow
Liberty a little bit, Yeah, not as much as I should.
They're like, I don't know anybody at WNBA, Dude, if

(49:55):
you're't even I don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:56):
Crap.

Speaker 4 (49:57):
They're twenty three and four. Yeah, they don't lose what. Yeah,
they're awesome. They're the number one team. But the Fever
Eliah Boston and Kitler Cark is trying to be on.
But if my five hundred dollars bet happens to be
a winner, it's eighteen thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
Yeah, I'm taking swings, boyez.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
Yeah, yeah, I'm taking swings.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
But that's only my winnings, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Sure, Yeah, free money.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
Any other thoughts. No man, no dude, but I gotta
make my Mari card into like a necklace.

Speaker 3 (50:26):
Now what like it?

Speaker 4 (50:28):
What kind of chain?

Speaker 3 (50:30):
I don't know, at least spent the when I can
find it, lost bmuch of.

Speaker 8 (50:32):
Money, lanyard, you know, like just like a whole punch
it or are you gonna do like a like a case.

Speaker 4 (50:40):
I thought I would like hold punch it at first,
just a card because I don't care if the card
messes up. But then the card's big, so I might
actually cut some of the card off so it's not
just so big.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
Just keep that Amrio auto. And it reminds, you.

Speaker 4 (50:53):
Know, reminder. Sometimes I don't even know what I'm being
reminded of. Sometimes I look at it, well, that's sucky day.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
You'll remember this one.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
Sometimes it's like, you know, I'm wearing this because I'm
not a one or donner.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
And I forgot what I said earlier.

Speaker 4 (51:05):
We'll put it back, or even why I was reminded
of making that necklace. Yeah, I forgot, But anyway, that's it.
I think we're gonna call it anything else you.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
Guys want to say.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
Eddie Man, just sorry, dude, sorry about your loss.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
I'm over that.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Then you don't have to make a necklace.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
I'm over that with you.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
Oh no, I'm yeah, well sorry about that.

Speaker 4 (51:29):
To me, it's like, never stop taking big swing.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
That's what that's what the necklace reminds me of.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
Don't stop taking. Don't let one bad oh god, terrible day.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
That's a bad one.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
Keep you from having another great day. And also, don't
jump in.

Speaker 4 (51:44):
If when you jump in it's gonna be so bad
you can't get out, Like, that's terrible too.

Speaker 3 (51:47):
I can get out. I'm perfect right here. Look at me.
Look how happy I am?

Speaker 2 (51:50):
Can't be happy?

Speaker 4 (51:57):
Yeah, that's what's up.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
Thank you guys for being here too.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
Edie, welcome. Your final thought was wet I don't remember, dude?

Speaker 4 (52:04):
Cool?

Speaker 2 (52:05):
Nice, I don't have one, Kevin.

Speaker 6 (52:08):
We saw a lot of athletes and stuff. Talked about
that last week with Tom Brady, of course. But I
did see Halle Berry Thursday night. We already saw in
the hotel, which was pretty cool, especially because obviously it
was unexpected.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Did you not go talk to her? You didn't want
to go talk to her?

Speaker 4 (52:21):
No?

Speaker 6 (52:21):
I should have though, Huh. It was a birthday she
was celebrating. She wasn't that many people hung read like
four or.

Speaker 4 (52:26):
Five maybe I thought it was only two dudes. No,
and then she sat down to the table. There's like
four or five people there. Oh yeah, I guess so.
But that was pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
Are you sure it was her?
