P.J. Morton的個人事業也發展得有聲有色，也屢次入圍和獲得葛萊美獎，最新紀錄就是2021年，他以靈魂福音專輯Gospel According to PJ: From the Songbook of PJ Morton獲得葛萊美最佳福音專輯！
Morton的父親是美國福音歌手，而且爸媽都是牧師，從小就在教會濃濃的宗教氛圍下長大。但是，Morton並沒有選擇待在熟悉的靈魂福音界，而是轉了大彎、跨足流行樂壇，想必震驚了他的教會和家庭吧！為什麼呢？
