【本期简介】
梁祝故事产生于晋朝，现存最早的文字材料是初唐梁载言所撰的《十道四蕃志》。
到了晚唐，张读所撰的《宣室志》作了文学性渲染，可见其大致轮廓：“英台，上虞祝氏女，伪为男游学，与会稽梁山伯者同肄业。山伯，字处仁……”
故事原型的历史背景，晋室南迁，士人平民纷纷相随，成为历史上第一次大规模的汉族南迁，影响了日后南北朝时期的政治格局。南迁后占据经济文化舞台的士族，多数游止或世居于会稽郡（今浙江省绍兴市和宁波市），史称“今之会稽，昔之关中”。会稽郡城“多诸豪右、民物殷阜，王公妃主、邸舍相望”。
