22 ноября в Нидерландах прошли парламентские выборы. Победу на них одержала ультраправая Партия свободы (PVV).
Лидер партии Герт Вилдерс — антиисламист и сторонник ужесточения миграционной политики в стране. Вилдерс прямо в день голосования пообещал сократить поток беженцев и мигрантов в страну. «Избиратель сказал: нам это надоело, нам это надоело!» — приводят его слова журналисты.
В 2022 году число мигрантов в Нидерландах выросло более чем вдвое и превысило 220 тысяч человек, пишет «Би-би-си». Отчасти причиной роста стали украинские беженцы.
Западные СМИ отмечают, что коалиция правых политиков в Европарламенте усиливается, и полагают, что это может привести к существенным изменениям в повестке Евросоюза.
