Журналисты «Важных историй» выяснили, что часть серверной инфраструктуры Telegram обслуживает компания, которой владеет партнер братьев Дуровых со времен «ВКонтакте» Владимир Веденеев. Его компании в том числе связаны с ФСБ.
Если предположения журналистов верны, то через Веденеева ФСБ может следить за пользователями Telegram по всем миру (а именно узнавать IP-адрес пользователя и с кем этот пользователь обменивается сообщениями, но без текста самих сообщений).
Накануне правозащитники проекта «Первый отдел» также сообщили об уголовных делах против россиян, которые ФСБ возбуждает за переписки с ботами и аккаунтами обратной связи украинских телеграм-каналов. Неизвестно, как именно силовики получают доступ к перепискам, но к моменту задержания фигурантов таких дел ФСБ обычно располагает содержимым чатов.
