Яна Таннагашева родилась в семье шорцев. Это малочисленный народ Сибири. Многие поколения ее предков жили в Тайге, говорили на шорском языке и передавали детям свои традиции. Но когда вблизи поселения обнаружили крупные залежи угля, существование народа оказалось под угрозой. Но Яна не смирилась с этим.
