John the Baptist models true humility. Are we pointing people to ourselves? Or are we pointing them to Jesus? In a world obsessed with platform and visibility, are we willing to say: “It’s not about me”? Are we open to the Spirit’s baptism — to a life shaped not by striving, but by surrender?

We will give ourselves an overview / introduction to Mark's gospel and see why such an overall understanding is helpful. We will ask the standard questions we would ask if we were in college studying a gospel: Who wrote it? When did they write it? Why did they write it? And then we will ask the questions that disciples should always ask: Why do the answers to these questions matter? How does it equip me to live in the good of my id...

The church is meant to be both a gathered people and a scattered or “sent” people. Our goal is to hold all four of these aspects of the Kingdom together: Salvation | Sanctification | Signs & Wonders | Social Action. And by doing so, to keep the dual emphasis of the church gathered and the church scattered. If we just gather, we end up inward looking holy cliques. If we just scatter, we easily lose sight of worship and community.

It is within this redemption story in Revelation 21, this meta-narrative, that the church eternal, global, and local, should find its vision and values. God created perfect community out of divine community. So, God’s redemption plan is a community plan. Here at Everyday Church, we articulate this vision in seven words: Son | Father | Spirit | Grace | Community | Kingdom | Love

Easter Sunday is the most joyful celebration in the Christian faith: the resurrection of Jesus. Death has been defeated, and hope is restored. The empty tomb declares that Jesus is alive, and because he lives, we also have eternal life. Take some time now to reflect on the significance of the resurrection — it’s the foundation of our faith. In the power of the resurrection we are reconciled to God, restored in relationship with our...

We have been looking at the ‘8 Days That Changed The World’. The 8 days that culminate with Easter Sunday. Holy Saturday is a day of waiting. The disciples and followers of Jesus were in a place of uncertainty, grief, and confusion. The body of Jesus lay in the tomb, and it seemed as though all hope was lost. But even in the silence and waiting, God was at work. As we wait for God to break in in resurrection power, consider other areas of your life where you are still waiting for God to break in. Commit to trust in God again for these a...
