Today on NASA's Day of Remembrance, we revisit and give honor to the crew of Apollo 1 as we recount the events leading up to and after the events of Jan. 27 1967, the fatal fire that led to major design and engineering changes which made the Apollo spacecraft safer, and capable of carrying US Astronauts to the moon.
