The Rapids had good intentions of winning this game but early it was hard to see. They gave up a goal in the 4th minute of regulation. Colorado would later storm back in the 1st half led by Rafael Navarro, Keegan Rosenberry, and Rafael Santos! Rapids lead 2-1 at the half.

In the 2nd Half, Zack Steffen was COOKING as he stopped multiple attempts from Kansas City to tie it up.
But as the 2nd went along, it was all apart of KC's plan to wear down Colorado. Sporting KC goes on to score three goals in eight minutes and the rest was history. Sporting Kansas City wins 4-2. Connor Cape has the call from Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Left footed, ball comes flying in beyond the back post.
Shelton's going to pick it up at the corner of
the eighteenth for Kansas City. Right football in towards goal
and a header by day On Jobolich in the fourth
minute opens the scoring for Kansas City. It was in
early concession in LA that doomed Colorado. It was a

(00:26):
seventh minute goal to Harbor Miller and now a fourth
minute goal conceded today on Jobolich, which fair credit today
on Jobolich. He has been one of the most productive
and best forwards in MLS going back to his time
with the La Galaxy. And that's just a nice header
at the post for Yobolich. That is his fifteenth goal

(00:48):
in the season. Holding gets close to the center circle,
ground pass fifteen yards forward for Novajo, back to goal,
right back to Holding tries to Nevaja again, but Song defending.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Now Aaronson is split lines top of the eighteen.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Paxton aaronsaid still has the ball. His shot is blocked
by James.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Excellent excellent defending by Ian James or else. Paxton Aronson
was about to have his first goal in Burgundy.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
He weaved his.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Way through traffic stayed on his feet, took a shot
at the top of the six yard box and James
just got in the way. Throw into yappie square ball
to Aaronson. Aronson gets double teamed.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Aronson gets around it, gets found.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
That is a penalty and a yellow card.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
The Rapids are gonna have an opportunity from the spot
to get back.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Into this one and level it up.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Now it is the Brazilian on eleven goals up against
Pool scamp one v one. Navajo backs away from the
spot to the top of the eighteen, shrugs his shoulders,
breathes in and out.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
The whistle blows. Navajo approach right foot. It's saved.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
His secondary shot is saved. It stays one zero in
Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Twenty second minute.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Kansas City up one zero for this ball goes past
through the mono holding us there.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
He's gonna send it over to Stefan. Jovilich is chasing.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Stefan sends it long off the head of Shelton, but
Santos plays it smartly. He waits for the rebound and
then knocks it forward into the center for Bassett and.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Forward for Navajo.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Nevajo chip and it bounces over the goal line after
deflecting off Pulse Camp and here in the twenty second minute,
we are level at Children's Mercy Park. Nevajo makes up
for the saves penalty moments ago. Game on Rapids, I'm
trying to break down this low block here from Kansas City.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
They're playing basically two four by four lines on top
of each other. Rapids find some width with Bassett cross
in back post, beyond the back post, half hol Santos
picks it up at the sideline.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Santos circulates it.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Back in and he just misses the Baja, but he
finds Rosenberry and the captain knocks it over the goal line,
and the Rapids at the half hour mark are out
in front two to one.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
What a ball in from half El Santos. What to
make an instant impact in Burgundy?

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Two to one Colorado and assist in your first start
for Colorado. And I guess Richard's the Headwaters kits, so
it's not technically in Burgundy. What a ball in from Santos.
Libold takes it for Kansas City. Liebold over to a song,
the song top of the eighteen, nudges it back out
to Libold. Libold left footed ball comes in, rolling across everybody.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Stefan makes a big save. Jobolich brings it down, knocks
it to Shallowy.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Shallowy takes a shot, a big save.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And a shot on the rebound goes behind goal. It's
gonna be a goalkick for Colorado. Zack Steffen stands tall
and is rewarded with the miss.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Suleimano top of the eighteen cuts to his left, holding
defending Joviolch farther left passong What.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
A save by Zack Stefen, with his back flat on
the ground at the goal line, stops it and denies
the Canadian.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Unbelievable from Zach Steffen.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Libel, thinking about a cross, drives it in low for
Suleimanov one touch back to goal. Dribbling away from pressure,
has to pass it back to Shelton a couple of
yards over to Davis Rapids trying to stay compact as
the ball comes into Munyos and what.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
A save by Zack Steffen, diving to his right.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
On the flick from Munyo's.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Heroics early in the second half from Zach Stephen Libel
at the corner of the box flicks it in from
Munyo's back to goal. Errands In defending for Colorado, forces
him out of the eighteen yard area. Back to Bartlett.
Now played back to Miller. Miller comes down to the
near side with a pass for Shallowy, holding defending along

(05:19):
with Koodi Patro Shallowy into the box. Shallowy right put
a shot inside side netting. Max Sue has to tackle
Jovolich and it's a way to Mason.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Toy Toy boy. It is all falling apart from Colorado.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Here Bartlett from the corner flag, left arm up, right foot,
goes near a post and then Ronan kicks it into
the south stand. We'll do this again, right football in Yobolich.

(06:21):
That is quite aheader again for day on Yobolch. Stephan
just getting his wall correct, Vines Cobb and Max Sue,
Davis standing over the ball. Jake Davis right foot, tried

(06:43):
to stick it in, sneak it in at the post,
went wide. That's the final. This was a game Colorado
was out in front of at the break and then
three second half goals conceded.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Four to two the final score.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
The Rapids have next weekend off with the international break
and then back home against a scrappy Houston side. Tonight
was an opportunity to create some separation in the table
and the Rapids couldn't take advantage of it. So it

(07:32):
is coming out of the end, this race to the finish.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
It's going to be a tight one.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Richard Coffin was your engineer tonight on site with me
here at Children's some Mercy Park. I'm Connor, cape kJ

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
