Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bassett receives a pass in the center, finds Mahailovitch with
a great ball, and Mihailovitch finds Harris top of the eighteen.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Calvin Harris cuts it back to his left. Calvin Harris shoots,
it's blocked down. Don't think he hit it cleanly, didn't
get any power behind it, and it went right into
the legs of the Vancouver defender in front of him.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Sixth minute, remains scoreless. Mahailovich a great ball forward dummied
by Harris who was off side to Nevajo into the box, spilled.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Away, knocked over the line. No, I thought it might
have been an own goal by Vancouver.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I looked close, didn't it.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
They're gonna say Vancouver with the goal line clearance got
it away to Takoka Dick Sporting Goods Park upset about it.
Chris Armis talking with the fourth official and people Kimboo
and people can't complain.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
But I don't think anything's gonna change.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
But here's Mahilovich to Harris right.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Over the line this time, no doubt in.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
The rapids out in front. In a twelfth minute.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
And it's that man. Calvin Harris continues to ride this
positive run of form, and it's his counterpart on the
left wing, Ted Kuti Pietro, who creates it, beats a
couple of Vancouver defenders and finds Georgie Mihailovich in between
the back line and midfielders, and that's where he lives.
(01:31):
That's where he creates all these wonderful opportunities. And Georgia
Mihailovich able to find Calvin Harris all alone inside the box,
and Calvin has the calm head to just take a
breath and finish it past Takeoka. He kind of waits
for the Vancouver goalkeeper to make the first move and
(01:54):
as soon as he does, just calmly slots it into
the near post.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Harris beautiful first touch, bringing down the long ball with
the top of the foot in Vancouver's half. Now drifting
away from Johnson back with a pass to Kennon the
square to Basset, peaks over his shoulder, passes to the
right to Ronan Ronan forward for Harris. Harris rolls it
forward for my Hilovitch edge of the box, right foot,
the ball.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Oh by half Nova one time down.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Between the legs and tak It's two nol Colorado in
the first half. What a finish by the Brazilian.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Oh that got me excited. Sorry Connor, I interrupted you there,
but what a phenomenal goal from haff A Navajo from
Connor Ronan and you see Georgie Mahailovich's run. It just
causes Vancouver problems between the center back black Man who's
being pinned backed by half A Navajo and Tate Johnson,
(02:54):
who's worried about Calvin Harris. Georgia Mahilovich pops up in
between those two players, Sebastian Burhalter able to get across
to him, and Hofinavaho doing exactly what your number nine
should be doing.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Mahilovitch right foot the ball top of the eighteen or
top of a six yard box and Andreas back Sue heads.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
It down, bounces off Takahoka. It's three assists on the
night for Georgi. It's the first goal of twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
For back Sue.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
The Rapids are up three now, a hat trick and
assists for Georgie Mihailovich. And we were talking in the
first half Garner about his set piece service and how
quality it is. And the Rapids continue to get first
contact on these set pieces and it's Andrea Smacksu. He
(03:43):
rises above and heads it down into the wet turf
as it bounces right in front of Takaoka and he'll
want this one back. He wasn't able to get his
hands on and just tried to get his body in
the way and ends up hitting him in the chest
or shoulder.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Saw the Rapids in the fifty eighth minute Foxborough a
couple of weeks ago, we're up three zero, ended up
settling for a draw after three goals from the Revs.
Now Brian White is in on goals want to save
made by Zach Steffen. I mean that is unbelievable. Brian
White has ten goals on the season, thought he had
(04:19):
his eleventh was all alone against Zack Stefan and Zack
Steffen in his return to the starting eleven stood tall
knocked it away.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Massive from Zach Steffen makes himself big, look like Brian
White was well off sides. But the flag stays down
and you usually expect him to bury that. Zack Stefan
quick to get his leg extended.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
What if the kick save three del Rapids ninety six
minutes on the clock, right football in headed out Vite
picks it up. That's it though.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
The final from Dick Sporting Goods part Colorado Rapids of
three Vancouver white Caps FC. Or is this it's a foul.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
It's not the end of the match yet.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Oh, he can call the match because you know as
soon as ex Stephan kicks the ball that he's gonna
blow the whistle. Yeah, that's gonna be it.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
He's got the whistle still in his mouth.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Oh, he just took it out.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Let's see what we get here.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Now it's back in his mouth.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
That's the final whistle from dix Port against Park After
ninety six and a half minutes, three goals later, the
Rapids win three to zero against Vancouver white Caps FC.
Back in the win column plus three points for Colorado.
As we said just moments ago, Calvin Harris opened the
scoring huff out of Vaja this second and then Andreas
(05:49):
Maxsu the third and three assists.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
From Georgia Mahialavic. What did you think of this performance?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
I thought it was almost as complete of a performance
as you could have asked for from the Rapids. The
first half was fantastic, both sides of the ball, organized defensively,
you took a lot of what Vancouver wants to do
away from them. You took their midfield away connor O
and Kolbassett. Georgie Mihailovitch deserve a lot of credit for that.
You were opportunistic going forward, scoring on a set piece,
(06:20):
scoring on a couple transitional opportunities. Second half. I just
thought we had to suffer a little bit more than
the Rapids would have liked. Weren't able to relieve some
of that pressure with some possession. But you can understand
at the end of a long week that's not quite
over yet really, at least this stretch of games. But
very impressive performance tonight from the Rapids. Like I said,
(06:41):
I thought they carried that mentality that they left La
with even in a difficult result, and brought it here
to Dick Sporting Goods Park tonight and were rewarded for
all three points.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
First Rapids center back and the captain tonight, Andreas Macsou.
Can you hear me?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah, I can hear you.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Andreas. You get a goal tonight, your first of twenty
twenty five. How did it feel? How did it happen?
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yeah? I mean, after a long time, finally a set
piece goal. Very important one. But I think a little
bit lucky, to be honest, but we taken and after
that we were solid. After the free.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
No goal, absolutely, and Zach Steppin returned to the starting
eleven behind you in Geeto. What does he give you
guys when he came back into the starting eleven tonight.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yeah, but to be honest, he has a lot of experience.
Of course he in my opinion, he's the best keep
in the league. But also fair play to Tonico Henson.
He did unbelievable when he was away, but of course
he is a top chop keeper and we could feel
it today.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Absolutely agree with you, especially about Nico. Now coming up,
it's a short week, it's at Seattle at lumen Field.
How do you guys keep the momentum from tonight's performance
going into the next match.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Yeah, I have to have. We had to keep climbing.
We have to go on. We have played some games,
especially at home. I know we lost to Kansas, but
it was a it was a good game. So now
we have to to do it away. Also, uh, we
had a three no lead, three no lead in in
New England and then and we unfortunately we conceded three
(08:16):
goals but yeah, keep going. That's the that's the most important, all.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Right, Andreas, Congrats on the goal, Congrats on the three points.
We'll see it in Seattle Wednesday night. Thank you very much,
rapid center back Andreas Max, you've given us his stance
on tonight's performance.
