Speaker 1 (00:00):
We did do the quia, can I get them a
little higher?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
To me your desire? I can be the start.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
You can't look away.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
No, you don't need to say.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Because I am the owner of the server, so I
get to see everything.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Weird how that works?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Oh, I got something else to show you.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Yeah, all right, deal, only if you promise. But what's
going on? Everybody? I am the one, the only, the
w oh okay I e I found all the misfits.
I brought them back all into one place. We got
the ewakyist of v walks Ewalk Jr.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Hello, key Ford Community, Glad to be here, glad to
be alive, glad for this beautiful evening.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
We got the resident PhD of key Forge doctor sheet Hello,
and the one who still hasn't fixed draw better dot cards.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Nope, that is renamed the draft score. I'm busy. I
haven't liked. I haven't coded anything in a while. And
by I haven't coded, I mean I haven't told AI
to code anything.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
I haven't told Aid to code me anything. Would be
easier just to do it as an app or No,
probably not a.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Same similar, same difference.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
We also had a little bit of in limbo. We
didn't know if you're trading a way players or not,
so you know dress.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Well, no, it's not my fault. Reap Out doesn't understand
how trades work. Like, why would I give you a
player and extras to get a pack of Oreos. That's
the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I can just go
buy oreos.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I mean you considered it though, I mean I was
willing to do this. Gummy bears and a player.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You're even going.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
To go as horrible?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Oh no, I'm not giving alt An easies up for this.
This is a hairbo and you go ahead and take
we were.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Going to give that to them, And I'm like, no, Like, why,
that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Clearly clearly, are
we the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
And we and we get to your list of trade stuff?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Well, apparently, according to at least the Health of the
Future self podcasts, Uh, forge core effected over to.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah that happened.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yeah, so now that means that sky is fully embedded.
And what that means is the original agreement is gone.
Now we can now target other players. Oh okay, because
that was that was kind of the rule, right, you don't.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Steal people from I mean is a great drinker. We
should get liquid squash.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Honestly, he's the only one I want.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
It's like, it's such a good drinker, that's that's players.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Right, Yeah, yeah, let's be honest. Forge Core not at
the top, right, She's not. She's not the biggest drigger. No,
but she wants to think clearly or something.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Liquid Squash, however, can put it away with the best
of them. Hell yeah, So he's really the only one
I want.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I heard that.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I heard rebots full of pukers, So I don't know
if we want any of them.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Word on banana and yeah, I still don't understand their
their love of I mean, bananas are great in all
but how you prove that bananas more than another person
is by how many bananas you eat or pause, be.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Like Gorlami and literally wear a banana suit to the vault.
Cool you, Chad.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
It was wearing a banana suit. What an absolute Chad.
But we did have a vault tour. We had two
vault tours this weekend. We want to quickly go over Madrid.
We don't have a ton of information on Madrid, but
it was at the same time as Vegas was going on,

(04:13):
But what we will say is congratulations to the winners.
Quick points of notes. This year in Madrid you had
thirty eight sealed, thirty six for Arkan and twenty one
for Sealed FRO. I'm sorry for Alliance. Last year eighty
six total players were present, sixty six played and sealed,

(04:36):
seventy four played in Arkan and forty played in Alliance.
So a little bit steep of a drop there is
all we will say. Yausers. Also for your quick game
Found update, because these guys want to talk about Vegas.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Hey, I will at least give a shout out winner
for Sealed d You have ARCon winner which was easy
Glina an Alliance winner which is Ali Mac, so well
known people in the community, so congrats. I think that's
the very least.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
But if any of you want to defect from your teams,
just let the Arcons corner boys.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Know and tell us how much you drink, because yes.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
We need we need to know how many shots of
malort you are in and then the test shall begin.
There is a there there is a.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Test.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I want to say there's an oral test, but that
sounds bad.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Doesn't take that one.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
It's not like it's not like that. We just need
to know how much you can hit, how well you
can handle your liquor. That's all so game found currently
sitting at the time of recording this on September twenty fifth,
it's one hundred and seventy six thousand and one thirty
four with five hundred forty nine backers, which, according to

(06:04):
sheets of key Forge otherwise known as jam t jam
l mt al is about on pace with where we
were for Amber Sky is ever so slightly higher, ever
so slightly so, we too about on pace where we
were with with Amber Sky. Oh, prophetic visions. I'm sorry,

(06:26):
prophetic visions not lower than prophetic visions.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, really the difference is that they had an extra
ten art backers.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
That's a big difference. But yep, yep, was it only
five or was it was it ten? It was ten?

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Now I will say you guys were like talking about
who did it last time when I wasn't here, because because.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
I was in Vegas and did it this time?

Speaker 1 (06:57):
I did, so I am now going to be the
disappointed owner of two thousand dollars work of power token
upgrades and exhausted dragons.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Why you will have a beautiful picture of your sweet
sweet mug. I will, I will.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
They these power tokens, they better do something like Yeah,
they will.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
They'll allow you to have a card if you're move
on from a creature. That's the story for next week.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
But that you could have done that with a bad
card without doing that before, So that was just worse.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
List you're the one who chose to not do it
in a good set. It's not our fault. It's not
our fault.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Yeah, I wish I did. I wish I did it earlier.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
But TV was clearly the set to choose. Oh, you
did not get in our apologies, but we did have
the Vegas Vault Tour happened this weekend at the same time.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
These three went. I did not, So I guess I'll
just let you guys talk about what whatever you did
in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Yeah, do we actually did? We actually go ahead and
talk about the new set, boys for what was announced
from game Bound before we go off that.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
No, we've already talked about this. We're going over it
next week. The name, the name of what, Well, we
already talked about that last week.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Oh see, and I was in I was in the
airport where you were.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Yeah, you were coming out you were you were on
a plane or about to head on a plane. But
if you didn't listen to last week episode, we did
reveal it there. It's called shattered reality.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Shattered reality.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
This time, instead of two prophecies, you'll have two reality cards.
Well maybe my ardor here in that the reality cards
might be yeah, you're an exhausted dragon. Yeah, you're you're Yeah,
you won't be in exhausted dragons, You'll be in shattered realities.
Remember you're always a set behind you.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Pledge this. It'll be cool to have like a just
like a sleeping dragon, just sort of like laying on
top of me and while I'm like trying to escape.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
That could have been cool.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Oh I was going to say, while you were, while
you were drunk in the ditch drinking.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah drunk, and then the dragon sits on
me and I'm like, yew ever, get out. And then
I get a power counter which does nothing.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, put this power counter on. Put power counter on
dras core. It does nothing. Congrats.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Well, I will say that I did make poor choice.
And this came very very very late. So last Thursday, yes,
I flew into Vegas, but less than a week before.
That's when I made my decision to go to Vegas.
So I was not planning to go to Vegas with you, Draz,
but I was. I'm so super pumped that you did. Yeah,
it was.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
It was an awesome time because you had not come
to Vegas for previous vaults, right, not.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
For any of the previous vaults. No, I've been to
Vegas before.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Vegas is not but you didn't come. Yeah, you didn't
have the experien us with us. So cool to have
you there.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
So should we get into it? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Yeah, So Thursday I was gonna say I had it
boys when I wasn't there talk about it.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
So so of the group, I was the first one
to get in on Thursday. So you know, I leave work,
rush down to the airport. Pretty pretty smooth flight.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
You know what I watched on the airplane, because you
know American airlines, they actually they have movies and stuff.
I watched The Thunderbolts, which was actually better. I thought
I hadn't watched a New Marvel movie in.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
A long time.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
But it was okay.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
It was okay.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Yeah, it wasn't great, but it was fine. It wasn't awful.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
It was a perfectly good airplane movie.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Yeah, that's where I was at, you know. So so
we land, So I land and get off and X
ray he's already, he's already there X ray one twenties
there and they so it's like, oh yeah, we're hungry,
We're thirsty. So we're in the lobby, you know, and

(11:04):
it's the typical like people trying to figure out what
they're trying to do, and people are going together, not
going together. So I'm like, well we're going So X
ray one twenty Wigsby, we jump in, we jump into Newberg,
get over to the Golden Tiki.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
If you don't know who Wigsby is, where where might
somebody know Wigsby?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Sure, well he's a you know, but I don't think
he he was doing the t forge situation, which which
well right, so actually so we did get the download
on that.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
When so we got over the Golden.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Teky started, you know, interrogating him, what's up with t Forge?
So what he said was, you know, he really enjoyed
doing it, right, Candice enjoyed doing it when it started.
Basically his boss was like, hey, like we need more content,
Like just go make some content, uh something that's fun

(12:02):
and easy so it doesn't take too much time. So
he's like cool. So his first thought fun and easy
key forge because you don't need to teach a new
game each time. Uh So, so he starts rocking mat
and then you know, the first one got a whole
bunch of views. So his boss is like, hey, like,

(12:23):
are you going to get to sponsored you? Ay, was like, well,
I hope, by the way, I hope this is not private.
I didn't ask him of those private information.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
I hope this dude tell me if I'm a bad person,
but I don't.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I think this is fine.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
Bezos boss too, Yeah, probably bad person, hey, Like, but
it makes sense right like business business boss says, hey that, like,
we got a whole bunch of views, you should get
GD to like sponsor it, which we all know GG
and we know the likelihood of that happening.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
So let me explain how that went over like a
lead balloon, because g don't sponsor.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Shit. That's right, I will, I will say that. Yeah.
Wiggsby had pointed out though, like that's not why they
started this. They weren't coming in with the idea of hey,
I'm looking for a sponsorship and so put them in
an awkward spot. It wasn't a matter of G kind
of balance.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Having a chance at somebody willing to actually do maybe
valuable advertising for them and then.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Just not does it for free.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Yeah right, Yeah, G has a little bigger built in
audience than.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
I will. Actually, I will argue that Wiggsby talked about
that is that our target audience really is board gamers,
and just the idea that each new new set represents
essentially an expansion that's a lot easier for board gamers
to be able to pick up on. I do think
that we should be leaning harder into BGG and this

(14:11):
idea of it being a board game esque card game
and it is closer to board game time. But again
with his perspective, even with World Board Gaming Championships happening
out in Vegas at the same weekend last weekend, there's
connection that was a big check.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
It wasn't the World War Game Championship, but it was
a different thing that sounded it was whatever it was, Yes,
But but so I was thinking about this, right, and
I know we've the general topic.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
World World Series of board Games. That was it.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
So after that, I was like, you know what GG
should just friacking go all in and they should just
put the tagline as like the card game for board gamers,
like just put that everywhere and like and really just
go all in on trying to get board gamers to
play to play this like I don't know, and.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
He could a sponsored like.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Market, like we don't know which fifty it is, So
I mean, it wasn't.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
All right enough on that.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
All right, So gold the Golden by the way, So
we're at the Golden Teki We're drinking and uh realizing
the tiki dude on the wall is surrounded by clams
and he's got like a huge schlong.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
We're like, oh oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
And so we uh AnyWho, we're drinking a whole bunch
and uh. So I didn't I didn't say this.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
At the bar because.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
I didn't want to like, uh like throw anybody else off.
But I was like, you know, I didn't think the
drinks were that great, like, which I love tiki and
I've been to the Golden tea number of times, and
like first couple of times I was there, the drinks
were amazing. So I was like, ah, like I don't know,

(16:14):
it must have you having an off night or something,
so I didn't want to disrupt other folks.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
I didn't really say that, but.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
H So part way through, by the way, E walk
shows up right, you come straight from Did you come
straight from the airport? Did you actually stop at the hotel?
I did stop at the hotel?

Speaker 2 (16:31):
So my my day, I taught, I went ahead and
watched two soccer games. I finished there, hopped in, went
to the airport. I recorded for a half hour while
I was waiting for my plane, literally left and jumped
on the plane. I went ahead and I had to
go ahead and ride in Sweet Sweet Sweet airport. I

(16:56):
will say that this was my first time riding Spirit
and it was an experience. I would not recommend it
to anyone, but it made me. It allowed me to
get to Vegas quick and easy. And I'm pretty sure
that as we were taking off, I could hear the
hamster wheel turning. I'm not even joking. It was like
the loudest So that didn't sound good, but we actually

(17:18):
we rolled in. I was scheduled to make it in
at eleven fifty nine at night, and in on a
four hour flight because you're two hours behind, and instead
we made it fifty minutes early, Like I have never
been on a flight where we've made it that early,
So that was good news. But I was pretty good.

(17:38):
That was amazing. So I dropped, I went checked in
and basically walked, grabbed key, threw my things in, talked
to two boys on the way, and then one I
hadn't grabbed an uber and came over to Tiki and
so everyone was real happy and and I got my
drink as soon as I could. But by that point
it was already one thirty in the morning, and it

(18:01):
was still it was good, but they were sugary, like
sweeter than I thought they were. They that was That
was kind of the only issue. It was. It was
like it.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Was weird because that is not what I've experienced in
the past. Now, that didn't stop me from drinking, like
it was pretty It was pretty good by the time
he got there. And uh, and by the way, Wigsby
can put down shrimp cocktail. He just like kept ordering
shrimp cocktail. I was like, man, this guy love of
shrimp cocktail. It almost made me want to get something.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
I was like, it's that good.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
I don't know, but I thought you're gonna say he
could put down the drinks and be like, well, now
we got to invite him.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
I mean, no, he he was.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
I mean he had some drinks, but he was not
like he was definitely he's not a huge drinker, he said.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
So you know, it's uh, it was acceptable. How's that fair?
But yeah, by the.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Time, by the time, it was like, I'm thirty two
in the morning something like that. So we're like, oh,
we got to play. We got to play tomorrow morning.
So we head back and uh get some get some
z's in, and then uh got up the next morning,
Friday morning, Uh, and uh got breakfast over at Blueberry Hill,

(19:22):
which is like a little diner situation not too far
from the hotel.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Yeah. I was surprised at how you were. Yeah, I
was surprised at how you were able to just keep sleeping.
My internal clock went off and said it's time to
get up. So I got up. I want to have
it worked out. I want ahead listen to this alarm
went off. Oh yeah, that one. I just totally picked up.
I was that one. I woke at that.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
I tried to turn it off. Apparently I just snoozed
it and then I went back to sleep, and then
they went off again.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
That time you woke up and then I went back
to sleep. So, uh, note to self for future self.
When you're really tired, I turn and off my clock
on my phone, but I did not turn off the
alarm on my watch, so that was an ultimate fail
and that got dress up. But I just heard airplanes
flying over our hotel and so I was wide awake.

(20:14):
So it worked out. I heard that, you know, it
works for some Dutch friends, so it got me up.
We're going. But man, that that tasty breakfast at Blueberry Hill,
it was well worth it. Then it was prett damn good.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Yeah, so so come back and jump in sealed. So
there was fifty seven players in Sealed, and you know,
I crack open my decks. I don't know what how'd
you feel about your decks? EA, walk when you cracked yours?

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Okay, So when I when I hadn't looked at my decks,
I told multiple people around me, I'm going to be
really happy if I go ahead and get two wins
out of this deck. Out of the lions, I was
pulling one pod from each of the decks and I
said that, and multiple people I kept getting harassed, and
Hobo and others like, uh said, You're only gonna get

(21:08):
two wins, and that would be at the best case scenario.
So I did not like my poll and what I
was looking.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
At mine was fine, like so I one of my
three decks was just like trash, like immediate like put
to the side.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
I don't think I'm gon use any of these pods.
The the other two were like had decent stuff, nothing crazy,
but you know, I ended up with you know, solid
solid logos pod, not not amazing, but a solid logos pod.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
I ended up with a pretty decent disc pod. Uh.
And then I.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Had to choose between two like decently good shadows pods.
It was either do I take Hoodwink.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Which is amazing uh and.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Like uh hood was it Hoodwink mi asthma.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
And but like not much else?

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Or do I take uh it was actually was Hoodwink
double miasma and a bunch of trash like a bunch
of burnish nickels and whatever. Or do I not take
the killer card and just take a bunch of like
solid stuff like hawk double Bandit, Culver Thong Kirchen stuff
like that, uh, single miasthma.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
So I opted.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
For the the more you know less spiky one as
opposed to them three good car, you know, three dcent
cars in junk.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
So so that's what I rolled with.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
My prophecies were okay, early bird and uh tails you
lose is I think was what.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
I ended up basically using.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
So I was like, well, I you know, I felt
like I'll get a few wins.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Unlikely i'd make.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Top A, but you know, I know how to play cards,
like maybe maybe I'll be able to pull it out
like I had.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
I had some hope, but not like strong hope. How
did you do? That's interesting because the only thing that bounced, Well,
there were two things that stood out to me about
the decks that I had. One I wasn't going to play.
Two of the three decks had redemption, and I actually
like redemption if you can get a very solid pod.

(23:36):
But neither of these had anything in it. They were
not playable. Those were immediate tossouts. They were no good.
The one deck seemed real bad, and when I actually
put it into SaaS later on, I could see why
it came out as a sixty two SaaS PV. That's right, PV.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, I don't even know that was mathematically possible in bv.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
It is and I took an actual pod from that deck. So, uh,
what did stand out to me is that I had
two pods that were gonna that were shadows, so I
had to make a choice there, and I knew I
was gonna go ahead and look at I actually thought
that was a little bit of a question on what
I would bring. One of them had three urchins light,

(24:18):
double Fidget, double fall Guy, and double predatory Landing, so
like Lucky Dice, Bondsman Velvet, but basically very consistent, but
no big. You're basically going for predatory landing with a
whole bunch of shadows boards, but they're all small and
with trenks being there, I just I did not like
that setup. So I did go with my other shadows,

(24:41):
which had Hoodwink that was a solid, solid call and
double Thunk Chummy. It had a miasma and invase some maneuvers.
It was just it was nothing special. But why I
thought it was playable. I think that Hoodwink is a

(25:03):
great card. That was one of my six plus cards
that basically stood out that should be played, and so
that made an easy kind of checklist. The other thing
that stood out to me is my prophecies. I knew
exactly right away where I was going. I thought that
these were amazing prophecies. As again later, yes, yes, had

(25:24):
I heads I win. Yes, it only gets worse, which
fulfills when someone steals, and I think with PV, especially
in sealed, stealing is something to be aware of. And
then the second matchup can be very good correct, and
then the second mouse. So all four of them, like
the end of your turn. I have the beginning of

(25:46):
the turn, and I have essentially in the mid turn.
So my prophecies were honestly the one thing I was
very excited about and I thought was solid, definitely playable.
And then I had kind of four pods that I
it immediately dumped down to four pods, so I have
the shadows that I'm going with with a three remaining.

(26:08):
I'm looking at Sarian diss or logos, which again makes
logical sense, but nothing was really standing out the Saurian.
I felt it provided the board double Lorica infantry Orator
hasaria with a capture pip and so it can go ahead,
and actually it can. It can provide some amber control,

(26:30):
and it can provide some board tribune pompetous Imperial, Scutum, Spendthrift, Sedentary,
nap for Bounce, Palegene Society, Imperium. I thought that pod
was good, and so that that one went in second,
But I was really stuck between am I going to
take dis or I'm gonna take logos the logos cut

(26:52):
Throat Research, forgive or forget wild, Wormhole for sear double Hazard,
zerp for some creature control, double Neotechnic Gopher, and scruples
for drawing cards, Wormhole Technician researcher, and then zeph Punch,
And I'm like, A, I don't know, there's some cards

(27:14):
in there, but it's not great. I could potentially try
and build a board, but again, everything seems to be
very small outside of the sorry, and I'm like, if
I'm trying to play creatures, it's going to be just
too slow. So I did look at the discs. The
disc that was there was not good like this diss
actually I had put in came in at twenty three

(27:36):
SaaS Banish Hamstrung, Infinity Strop, double Traumatic Echo okay uh, Chasm, Vespid,
double Dark, Minion in Furnace, Pied Piper, Strug and Truburu
which had no way to kill it. So it was
a wasted card. And I don't know, would you guys

(27:56):
take the logos or would you take the diss off
of that?

Speaker 3 (28:00):
I think the disc had more pips okay, p c
mhm or equally whatever, see actually much better. See so
I'd probably end up with the disc.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah, Wookie, where are you at?

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Man? This asleep?

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Asleep? We love we lost some dress probably yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Uh yeah, yeah, no, I think, I mean it's.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Not obvious, but I think I think maybe I did
the right thing.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
My problem is that, but I would have taken the discs.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Okay, because look, the Dark Minions are each one day
one power has investment one. Every everything is so small
pi pied viper. I'm not playing strug. I'm most likely
fading and Trooper is out there like literally I have
in furnace, which I don't care to come back to.

(28:54):
I took it actually for the double traumatic echo to
be able to have some control in the banish, for
just having something to bounce. But I just is where
I was, and that's why I said I came into
this going if I can get two wins, I'm gonna
be happy. And I was happy. I was happy. I

(29:18):
mean honestly, I just I was very lucky on that
first day. I don't know what else to really say
outside of I was very lucky and what I what
I pulled in it well correct. So so round one
I faced JJ redacted and he may see here. I
got plenty of stares. Thanks you guys, because I won

(29:43):
at one key and six Amber before the four am
before Amber, JJ got slow walked. No, the problem was
JJ when I had and took my Amber.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
I feel like we should I feel like we should
hand out every time. Every time you go to time,
we should hand your opponent of shirt that says I
got slow walpped.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Well, there you go, there you go, because because everyone
was over there harassing like where, yeah, why why are
you doing this? And I'm like no, but he benevolent charity.
It was. It was a great play, but that his
deck just went ahead and took Amber and goes boof.
So between my Laurica infantry where I'm getting rid of
his and he's just taking six. Yes, it would have

(30:29):
pushed to a third key had we actually gone. It didn't,
but that that one still felt bad. I just I
don't like our and our time rules. So then game two,
I face Mammon another team kill ouch not good and
that was three keys to one key. We had no issue. Basically,

(30:49):
I'm Mulligan's, so I'm Mulligan's and I'm mulligan into five Sarian.
That that's what started that game, and that was that
was Ralph. That was rough for Mammon because it pretty
much took over basically Hoodwink life Ward. Yeah, it was there.
Round three I placed. I placed against Magic Duck one

(31:12):
two keys, six amber to one. So notice that one
to time. But we were at three keys there. Uh
he got key one early and then Trenks creed me
for eight. That one hurt boys. That one hurt a lot.
I was trengsd on essentially. I think this was Turned
two or Turn three. There were a total of eight

(31:33):
cards that have been played against me. So if you're
going to go especially and sealed, I see you have sorry,
you have sanctum can I push? I did and you
had it? Not cool man, but that's what's there. I
did have a choice because there were two on the
Lorica infantry, so he put it on the Lorica so

(31:54):
I could spend thrift. And like my prophecies at that
point were actually both blocked because he had guessed right
and they were both not available. So I can make
the choice to play my spendthrift and get rid of
the ten Amber, or I can go ahead and make

(32:14):
the choice to just go for the big jugular kill.
I went and played the easy, got rid of all
of the amber, put one on it, and so we
finished two keys and six amber at time. But still
not cool. It couldn't take me off, but it was there.
And then game four was an absolute epic game. This

(32:35):
is against Ali or Dragonmaster, just crazy game. So I
won three keys to two and she was playing Redemption
and you're just not seeing this. Got the big board.
I have Amber that's out and I wore two of those.
I had a dark Minion that was out, and I
had I think it was kasm Vestpit or something that

(32:56):
was out, but I captured Amber on the those two
creatures at one what was it? I had two creatures
at one, so kasm vestwe would have been the other one.
But I made a choice to ward it. But for me,
I wanted that. I wanted to go ahead and take

(33:18):
the Amber off of the infinity strop and the capture.
So I made a choice to play it, but it
basically hit her diss and it wiped out my two
wards and she came back on her turn and she
basically played this big giant board with her redemption and

(33:41):
she used the redeem the Crucible. So the way that
redeemed the Crucible works is you're going to blow up
the board and then for each mutant that's out, it's
basically reducing the cost. So my dark minions go ahead
and reduce her cart and that took her right to twelve.

(34:03):
So I'm at two keys eight Amber. She can't stop me,
and instead she goes ahead and blows this up. So
I kind of look at it or like that. It
was just it was an incredible play. I was super,
super proud of her. It was just it was amazing.
And then we looked and I double checked the destroyed

(34:26):
effect on strug says destroyed your opponent loses one. And
as a result, that destroyed effect has to happen before
the key like keycheat happens, and so she misses the
key sheet by one. Amber. So again, reading cards real important,
but like we're just so caught up in the moment,

(34:46):
like I can't like, you're at two keys, zero amber
and all of a sudden, it's a burst with this
massive turn just to play one card because it's wiping
the board and ambers on the board. It was it
was absolutely amazing, so super close game, but I ended
up going four to oh with that deck. Still don't
know how it won two games, but let alone four

(35:07):
and I made top cut there and they're like, oh goodness,
that's it was just amazing. I still at that point
still don't believe in the deck like I have prophecies,
but it's just as it's small ball baseball. It's like
it's making a little stride forward and it just kind
of keeps the game moving along. But there's no outside

(35:30):
of the hoodwink. There's no massive cards that are just
overtaking this game. And there were a lot of cards
that we ended up seeing from other people that it
just were absolutely brutal. So was super proud made top eight.
So shout out to the rest that was there from
Speed Paced Loganes, Miggy, Hobo, Steele, Captain Crispy, and Zach.

(35:52):
So it was it was awesome. There you go. So
I will not.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
I'll say there's a one gate. So one of my
losses I think I either went two and two.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Or three and two.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
I forget what it was, but I remember I started
one because because of Wild Wormhole. So you know, I
start with like flopping a whole bunch of creatures, right,
I'm like, you know, I got kind of like you know,
I want my board ray, I've got Jeff punched down,

(36:31):
I got Director's uy x down, I got you know,
neotechnic gopher down. I think maybe I had like a
bandit culver two down right, I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna
make his life hard. And then a wild Wormhole into
an Annihilation Ritual the only card in the deck. And
I was still pretty early that I did not want

(36:53):
to ever play. I'm rocking Double Gift of Ember with
Ruberu and like parasitic erachnoids strug right, like a whole
bunch of stuff that I want to like blow up
and burst. Right, I've got to tell no tales, right,
I've got like but he just like wipes my bard

(37:16):
right after I accidentally play a night Lation ritual purge
my like good stuff, and and then I lost, So
you know, from the game, like, who know, it was
too early, like if I hadn't Wild wormholed the Annihilation ritual.

(37:36):
Who knows what would have happened, right, But but as
soon as it flips, I'm like, oh no, like this
is bad.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
For me, good for my opponent. So that was unfortunate.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Every other game I successfully discarded the Annihilation ritual, that
was good.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
I think. The other game I lost.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Was just like against like some now you don't get
to play stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
I was like, okay, well I lose.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
So but but overall the deck performed as moderately. Well,
I just double checked. It's like, what is sass say
between the two Shadows pods. It basically said either alliance
was equivalent, is what it said, and the DRAS scorer
said I made a slightly better better choice, but only

(38:27):
very slightly. So who knows your.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Own scoring systems agrees with you?

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Yeah, I know, I can't believe, although I would call
it the draaz Car, I mean it is all of us.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
But yes, although I guess, like the Shadows cards, we
haven't scored yet. So those are my scores because you know,
I just went and did that myself. So but yeah, yeah,
so had a lot of fun. Uh, the one loss
was was tough, but yeah, I but then yeah, you

(39:05):
you got to top eight.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Uh he walked. That was pretty awesome. Yeah, but I
then held everyone up for dinner because we're we have
to play the top eight game.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
I mean that's fine.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
So no, it was it was okay.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
I I uh streamed a little bit and when I
went out, like nobody was on like jumping on the stream,
and uh, you know, I was liked Jeremy and He's like.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Uh, I was like all right, so that actually Josh
said that with me.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
And uh, so I guess Jeremy had probably been doing
a long time or whatever. I don't know, it's not
like he's working. So the the uh sounds fun to stream.
And then yeah, we we did the uh wait for
you walk.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
But that that wasn't bad. And then uh x Ray.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
So it was actually x Ray's birthday and x Ray
really wanted to go to the pepper Mill, so we're like, cool,
let's do that. I've never been to the pepper Mill
and Fireside Lounge, but you know, i'd heard of it
as a Vegas institution.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Right.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
It's like old school, like Neon Light diner in the
middle of the strip, like you know, that property is
worth like a bajillion dollars now, but it's still this
like little old diner, right. I guess little is the
wrong word, but it was a diner, right, an old
school diner. So so we like, everybody's like back and forth,

(40:40):
what do we do?

Speaker 2 (40:40):
What do we do?

Speaker 1 (40:41):
And I'm like, let's not we just waited for you
walk like I'm kind of hungry. Let's just go, as
we tell people that's where we're going. So a bunch
of us jump in a car and head over. Others
are still thinking about it, and zip over to the
pepper mill.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Yeah, I mean this is this is late though. This
is after nine o'clock at night, so it's not an
early dinner by any means.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Right, And so others are still figuring out whether they
want to come or go somewhere else. So, uh so
we jump out of this what was like a saturn
or something.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
What is this tiny vehicle? I don't know, So it's
a tiny vehicle.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
Yeah, so jump out of the tiny vehicle and I'll
protect the identity of this individual who goes to uh,
you know, jump out of this car. And there's like,
I don't know the sound of like a small explosion,
which was their pants just rupturing just like all the

(41:44):
way down the back, and uh, you know this person
was totally commando and uh so they're uh yeah, so
there was uh you know, eyes go wide doesn't wear
underwear to a vault, like I said from you of

(42:10):
this individual, and uh so we're all looking around and
so e Wok is the one who has two shirts on.
So so e Wok pulls off his tiny little shirt
and this person wraps it around their bum and it's like,

(42:31):
you know, like a tighty little, tighty little banner. But
you know what had man like I had two shirts.
You are a good guy. You are a good guy
helping helping our friend out. So you uh yeah, you
offer your shirt off your back right and like just

(42:52):
like and then uh yeah yeah you know said.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Was this isn't going to cover my one cheek.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
Mm hmmm, yeah, I just got to cover the crack, right,
so ednieho. So we realize that, like we're actually next
door to uh to a uh ross yeah, a ross
clothing store. So uh this person jetting over walk loincloth on.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Flicks, they weren't wearing any underwear. That's what commando means,
no underwear. Clearly, I need to up my sleazy game
because I'm doing it wrong.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Yep. So ops, And so they zip over to to
ross right.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
So uh meanwhile, ewok, and I uh go like jump
into put our names in and there's just a couple
of us in the car, so we put our names
in whatever, and we we then go over to the
bar and it's just like really like crazy old non

(44:07):
glass like nineteen seventies bar situation. So we we grab
some some beers and we're hanging out at the bar
drinking while while pants pantsage is going on, and so
we uh so finally at that point, some other folks

(44:29):
show up, and so we end up like like congregating
around the tables, like okay, some people show up. So
we go back and we we're like, oh, can you adjust,
Like when we first get there, it's like, oh, it's
like thirty minutes, right, So twenty minutes go by, some
other folks show up, right, so we got like you know,
like Marcus is there and like JJ and Mammon and

(44:50):
like whole bunch of folks come right, so mickey, right,
whole bunch of folks. So so we go back and
we're like oh yeah, like we up the number of
people at the table, right, and so like, okay, well
it's gonna be like thirty minutes again, like starting now,
Like that's fine. So then we go sit whatever, and
then like more people show up, so now we have

(45:12):
to like move to a different area of the bar
to like and so we go and change the update again.
It's like, okay, you like fight a spot for like
thirteen people. So they're like, well it's like forty five
minutes what, so we're starting now.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
It's we're like.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
So then at this point, like we're waiting with the
table forever because our own fault. And sheep lands right
because sheep you you did not make it in time
for the sealed situation, but you did land in time
for festivities Friday night.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
So so like you land as we're waiting for a table,
So like, what tell us about what you did?

Speaker 3 (45:56):
My day was I was at work in Tampa, Florida,
and then I got out of work in Tampa and
got to go eat an amazing Cubano and then I
got I also flew Spirit, but it was only one
hundred bucks to upgrade to first class, which was great.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
Was the first class on Spirit?

Speaker 3 (46:18):
Yep, oh, there is some spirits. There is. I was
on an a bus, a three thirty or three twenty.
It was a pretty new plane. It seemed nice. There
were no hamsters, there were lots of free drinks. My
seat was properly sized for my fat ass. The only
thing my upgrade costs is somewhere My credit card disappeared.

(46:44):
Now is that? Did it get eight by the machine
and I forgot to pull it out? Did I just
put it in my pocket and it's sitting on the airplane.
I don't really know. I just canceled it and went
out with my weekend. Whatever cars missing shit happens. So yeah,
So getting on the plane, I'm texting people, I'm like, Okay.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
Hold on, I feel like I feel like this needs
being said. So Vegas has claimed from Sheep one credit
cards and one I D you don't need these things card.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
And you can fly with a Costco card. Everything's fine.

Speaker 2 (47:21):
You can fly with the is it a real ID
Costco card? Sure is?

Speaker 4 (47:26):
Sonyay. What we've learned is as long as you have
your Costco card, you're fine. So the new Hitchhiker's Guided
the Galaxy no longer need towel Club. You no longer
need your towel. You need your Costco card. Perfect I have.

Speaker 3 (47:42):
You can go to Costco and buy a towel.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
And underwear is optional.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
Underwear is optional.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
I mean, sheep, we did wait for you. You were
part of that that bumped us all the way to
eleven and then and then you just like no.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
So on my way out, I'm texting people right like
keep me informed of what's going on. So when I land,
I know where I'm going. I land and I start
trying to get a hold of people and like zero responses.
Nobody wants to say anything. Finally, it was either Ewak
or draz. They said we're going to the pepper Mill. Okay,

(48:23):
and then it takes me over a half an hour
to get an uber to show up at the airport
to take me cause it was just swamped in people.
So I don't even get I don't even think I
got to the hotel till eleven, because I went to
the hotel first to drop off my bag, and I'm
like trying to message cause it's like ten fifteen or

(48:43):
ten thirty. They said they're going to the pepper Mill,
and I'm like, well, what's going on? And nobody's responding,
and so I run into Logan, composer at and Tobin
and some of them are out playing key Ford. So
I talked to them a bit, but Logan's like, oh,
people are going to play. He got us an uber
and we went to play. And I never saw you guys,

(49:04):
because you can't bother to reply to messages.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
Yeah, we were drinking. Hold on for our judges out
here six nine pm, nine thirty land dot dot dot,
keep me in the loop fire thumbs up, got it?
Eleven o seven, wtf you're still forging keys? Eleven o
eight draz and I take a photo from the bar. Sweet,

(49:31):
keep me in the loop is too hard? Question mark
back to ewok. Finally made it out did top cut
at seven thirty Have you landed? Just eleven oh nine?
Just made it to pepper Mill at eleven nine thirty
five minute? Wait are you here? We are at the
pepper Mill? Okay, thought where should I uber to? I

(49:53):
would drop off the bank? What's our room? Blah blah blah. Yes,
I understand. Twelve o'clock so sorry, eleven thirty four. Yes,
I understand you may need to leave your bag at
this Yes, I understand then we have a break until
twelve o'clock, sitting down for food coming from ewalk x
ray twelve twenty sheep, where are you at? Twelve already?

(50:15):
Twelve twenty one? Just got uber head to a heard
to ap. Your key is at the front door desk, yes,
because real story, real story, trying to get there.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
And they're not replying to anything, and the hell with them.
I mean, I'm gonna stand around for forty five minutes.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
Look you do that sound like a lot of replies
that you didn't want to hear on this podcast.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
Hey, we've heard. We've heard many many different things on
this podcast.

Speaker 1 (50:46):
We don't where I came. I'm ready for bad? Well sorry,
So then, yeah, I went to play with a bunch
of folks and we had a good time over there,
and then we ended up at the speakeasy prohibition bar
little bit, and I was really wrecked by that point.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
So you know, I do want to check out both
the provision Bar and Play at some point. In fact,
you only like you don't want to have fun.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
I like having fun, but I like classics more than
stupid fun.

Speaker 2 (51:25):
Uh man, I would check out Play.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
I do want to check out Play. AnyWho the uh
some folks. In fact, we like three times we we
upgraded the table to wait for the table three times.
Some folks decided after the third time, after we like
waited for the table even.

Speaker 2 (51:40):
Longer, they're like, oh you know what, never mind, we're
actually gonna go. They left.

Speaker 1 (51:45):
I was like, oh, okay, so they have a JJ
was like we're out, Like all right, well, so the
big table we got wasn't really full, so uh there
was a spot for sheep.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
Oh wow. So so then we're like, okay, well we eat.
It was good. I wouldn't say it was like the
best ever, but it was pretty good. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
The So then it's like, all right, what do we
want to do? Do we want to go to play
and meet up with folks and X rays it's his
birthday and he's like, I really want to go to
Fremont Streets. Were like, oh, yeah, it's your birthday, We'll
go to Freemont Street. Freemont Street's cool. So so I
I had been to Fremont Street, but I had I
mean the evening, but never like at night night. So

(52:32):
we get there at whatever time I don't know, real late,
and uh it is like bumping there are all these
dueling bands. There are like half naked women dancing on
the bar tops. Right, there's those like circle spots on
Fremont Street with like you know, the street performers who

(52:54):
are gonna are trying to get you to come over
to them and stuff that you know you don't want
to actually get too close to. And uh so we're
like wander around Freedmont like checking stuff out. And then
we wander and uh oh x Ray wants like donut
good at some donut place. It did look really good,
but I was like two full. I was like I

(53:15):
cannot eat a donut after that peppermeal situation. So so
then we wander over to the container Park, which has
like a giant how tall is that thing? I don't know,
fifteen twenty foot praying mantis that like shoots fire out
its head.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Uh so that was cool.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
And then we go into the container park. We get
some drinks and pink box.

Speaker 2 (53:41):
Pink box, Yeah, yeah, that was the place.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
The so the container park was like playing for pink box, that's.

Speaker 1 (53:49):
Right, and so so uh so we end up over
the container park and we playing like long lawn games
like on the turf there while drinking a whole bunch
of beers and stuff. So that was kind of fun,
Like it wasn't exactly what I expected to be doing,

(54:10):
but played corn hole and stuff and uh then we
got kicked out because they were closing, but had a
good time.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
So it was a good time.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
Yeah, so that was uh so it was a fun night,
fun night, Happy birthday, x.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
Ray and cheap. You didn't you didn't even come and
like snuggle me. You made it in much later. Yeah,
I mean we were we were not. We were not
back early by any means, so am by the time
we got back. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:46):
Yeah, well, after much drinking, we then walked back to
the hotel from from the Luxor, which is yeah, not
quite two miles. It's like a mile and a half
or something. But Logan challenges me to run it, and
both drunk and needing to run a mile because I've

(55:07):
been running a mile every day for a while, I'm
like five, So I very drunkenly run a mile down
the strap, running over the overpasses and everything. Somewhere I
lost Logan. He says he was faster than me. I
don't think so. I just I dropped him. So I
ran by by all.

Speaker 2 (55:27):
Did you physically drop him like you're kind of known fow.
So now.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
He knows he knows enough to stay away from me.
So I catch back up with people there at raising canes,
So weeds some chicken and then we're walking. We're like, oh,
we better go to the boozy taco bell too.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
You know that.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
We tile bell small amounts at both and then finish
our walk back to the hotel. So we got back
somewhere between three and four. But it's yeah, I didn't
really pay that much attention, and you guys were nice
enough to pull the fold out couch for me. So
I was a decent roommate and just passed out without

(56:07):
waking well, you know, without trying to wake you up.

Speaker 2 (56:10):
Yeah, I had a moment of.

Speaker 3 (56:13):
I was like, I was like I was looking forward
to just belly flopping you guys.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
I was like, I better pull this pull out out
and like freaking put some sheets and pillows on it.
It's like, there's no way I'm sleeping. You were not. Yeah,
he walks like whatever, he like stumbles into his bed.
I'm like, I want to sleep. I need to do
this before I pass out. I was so tired.

Speaker 1 (56:41):
Well, let's be honest the last time Sheep tried to
belly flop a bed, so it might have been for
the best.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
Yeah. So, and then, because yeah, I worked for a living,
I still woke up five hours later and you guys
were already out, and I decided, I'm like, well, what
am I gonna do on Saturday? Right, I'm like, I
did not register for the event. I was didn't actually

(57:12):
cared if I played that much. But ultimately the deciding
factor for me came down to I want the stupid
little pin for my pin board. Like I'm here in Vegas.
I want the stupid little pin. And I'm like, I'm
sure I could get the pin without playing. But then
I'm like, is the pin meaningful if I don't play? Nope,
it feels like a hollow pin. So that I'm like, fine,

(57:35):
I gave him my freaking hundred dollars and signed.

Speaker 2 (57:37):
Up to play. Good job, Sheep, Oh no, horrible play fraud.

Speaker 3 (57:44):
I did play fraud. Fraud, did fraud things fraud? Yeah,
my story. I went. I won my first three games,
and then in the fourth round for the four to
zero and guaranteed I get pared down, right, I get
pared down into Tobin and Jason's local. This is his

(58:06):
first fall tour. I look at his deck and I'm like, yeah,
whatever and man everything he played hit for top value
and he beats me. Oh it was I mean, it
was a good game. He played well. It just went
in his favor and I'm like, oh, here's the end.
I'm gonna go three two and get nothing. Instead, I

(58:30):
did win my next game and made it to the finals.
I got Dave. Yeah, my three to one match was
Dave and I did fire pretty high against Dave. So
that's real good. That's nice. Top eight, So into into
top eight right, which is next day. But whatever. The

(58:53):
two people who were in the finals of Arkhan, I
defeated both of them on day one. So both of
the decks that were in the finals of MARCNS I had,
I had stack wins up against Captain Crispy's deck. I
think I was pretty favorite against uh this is deck.

(59:16):
I think I got a little more lucky beating him.
That was a less fair matchup or less favorable matchup
for me. And I was looking at the top eight.
Top eight. I had to play am N and he
was playing Turgen from Sydney. Again, this is a deck
that I don't don't, you know, Like I'm looking at

(59:38):
him like it's good, but I don't. It shouldn't give
me too many issues. And then on turn three, the
only real turn I remember the game is turned three.
I'm holding six Mars cards and his turn is to
reap with the creature that lets you put one card.
He's playing TV. It puts one card from your hand

(59:59):
back on top of your deck, right the shadows creature.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
Silly name Porter Silla.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
So I'm like, I'm looking at my hand and I
see he's about to do it, so I just shuffle
my hand and lay it down on the table and
I'm like, I have six Mars cards. Uh Turgen has
a Star Alliance atrocity as well, so I'm expecting, you know,
problem or to get hit. But I'm like, whatever, I
got six Mars cards. I'm gonna play Mars next turn.
If he plays the atrocity, I don't really care because

(01:00:32):
my whole hand's Mars. That puts one random card on
top of the deck. Okay. Then he plays the atrocity
like okay, and I remember that turn turn before, but
he's got It's that turn he sticks a card under
wounds into wisdom, uh for you know, because the atrocity
is gonna guarantee the trigger. So I'm like whatever. So

(01:00:53):
I don't even look great because I just shuffle, put
my hand down, put the car on top of the deck.
It's my turn. I go, okay, trial today, I go
to flip the top card off my deck. Of course
it's the battle fleet, right, so six Mars cars in hands.
One of the battle fleet was he bounced out of
my hand. Battle Fleet right, So then wounds into wisdom
triggers and that is the strategic faint. So the next

(01:01:14):
card off my deck is an action. I look at
my hand, it's five Mars actions, so it's a it's
a total turn skip and I'm like, well, dang it.
You know, it's like what are you gonna do? Right?
Like everything has hit aces for him on you know,
you're playing the right out there. It's TV right, like

(01:01:36):
they're a little bit random, but when they hit there, man,
they really hit. So I just passed turned because I
fear it'd be better to come back to Mars again
to play all my Mars cards. Maybe I must be
able to kill the atrocity or something. I don't fully

(01:01:56):
remember maybe I already have had the three power guy.
Oh yeah, I had the three power creature on the
board from a wild wormhole earlier, so I was able
to kill the atrocity. So you know, I'm like, okay,
I'll just kill the atrocity and pass and come back
and play all these Mars guards because they all have
amber pips. That game goes on and he closes out

(01:02:17):
with an atrocity and strategic feint on the last turn
to prevent me from being able to steal back, and
you know, knocked me out. But had that happened, had
I won, my top four game would have been back
into Captain Chrispy, who I think my deck is actually
favorite of that because he was playing a high CPV

(01:02:38):
deck and we know fraud doesn't care about c And
then my last game in theory would have been against
just this who I had won against once, So I
think this might have been the closest to me on
the one vault I've been in the and it's in
the PV area with a code of deck, so it
seems a little crazy, but I didn't. I'm just top
eight scrub.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
And I was out, all right, that's my.

Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
Yeah, I mean that's where I was too, So you
be there well, because I almost lost so many times. Yeah,
and it was also a mistake, but.

Speaker 3 (01:03:15):
He was choosing to try to disrupt you more than
force his own game plan, or what I think his
game plan should have been. I mean, ali want was
a little bit of the game.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
But now you you yes, you and I both thought
the exact same thing when when he did what he
did instead of the alternative.

Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
He used to forgive or forget and chose to purge
two cards from drafscrps, not purging critically important cards at
that point in the game, and he had a trunks
creed in his discard archives, which at least would have
made dress play differently, even if it wouldn't have been
a like guaranteed big amber swing. But you know, he

(01:03:55):
couldn't have bursted like mad. He would have had to
think about playing his six power creature, right because if
you you'd have to think about using your lb astra,
because if you always got charts cream, that alb Astra
is going to be an amber bank.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
No, I would not have played it for sure, So
right now, that's yeah, but yeah, that was so so
I actually lost my first game, which uh was is
a rough way to start. I got I was at
two keys and twelve Ember, and then I got Wadkad.
I was like, well, I was exciting to see too

(01:04:31):
much of that, but yeah, it was. It was like
a Wadka burn situation. So it wasn't like a instant loop.
It was a you know, rebel million Mars Guys vodka.

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
With uh the.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Disintegrator, so it's just delete all your Ember with with
lots of rebels and then you know, yeah, so so
I lost that game, but came back played a whole munch,
managed to get to top eight with a whole bunch
of games.

Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
You got to play every game you were even the
playing There was one playing yes play you got to
play that too.

Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
That was a very close game, intense game. There was
there was a point like like Aria does not so
I played Ari again. I really thought about do I
try my PV that's pretty good, but I only I
literally played the PV deck ten times, like, I didn't
played it that much. I opened it relatively recently. It's
my best TV so far. I didn't feel comfortable. I

(01:05:38):
was like, well, I haven't played Aria this season and
then after the words I told that to Mammon, he
was like, you totally played aria.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
It at Rochester because we faced each other. I was like, oh,
and I look back. I was like, oh, yeah, I
made top eight with Ario in Rochester.

Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
Oh well, so, which I forgot AnyWho a long time ago,
so so yeah, I was like, I'm gonna put the
twenty five contender on it, right, but apparently I already
had so anyhop.

Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
But you get to see how it stacks up against PV,
which is yeah, that was not well.

Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
So then then in the top A I face Vargast
on Blood. Now this is Blood the Geologist of Botton Tong,
which is the highest PV drass scored deck that I
have dress scored so far at A one, and I

(01:06:37):
have seen this deck before, even before our guest, who
is a patron, asked asked me to score his decks
like I already knew this deck was crazy and seen
it like, oh my goodness, this deck is just so disruptive,
and I basically didn't play. I was he kept, by
the way, don't don't do any more drass scoring until

(01:06:58):
I give me the go ahead, okay, because a lot
of people dropped when when we stopped updating draw butternut cards,
which I know I'm not a Patriot Channel.

Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
I'm not blaming anyone. Well, I have to do it
manually because for whatever reason, it's not doing it once
they drop from there.

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
So yeah, I just I just realized that literally yesterday
when I was going through I'm like, wait a minute,
what the you know?

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
So using us I'm not even giving us a dollar?

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Yeah, it's one dollar guys either either way.

Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
So I was chatting with Hobo. He's like, can you
dress score my decks? And I was like, yeah, just
post the Patriot Channel. He's like, yeah about the Patriot Channel.
I was like, is that worth a dollar? Come on, dude,
He's like, you just do it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Like, no, that was a dollar.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Give us a dollar.

Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Should have been like, you can give me a dollar
at the bunk Tour and I'll do it.

Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
He just reaches into his wallet, so anywhou but yeah,
he just was I guess was just looping. By the way,
you want your drafscurse, give us a dollar over on
Patreon and give proof the drass car and then he
will give you your draft.

Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
Course you'll take the dollar and then drasscr will do
the work.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
That's right, that is accurate. I don't see this. That
is how capitalism works, sheep. He's the boss.

Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
He's supposed to get like a tenth of a penny
or something.

Speaker 4 (01:08:31):
Listen, all the money ends up going to whatever bullshit
we end up doing our shirts or whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
Anyways, so this is true.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
He I didn't have to pay for the jersey. I
never received small size instead of adult size.

Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
I still own that, and I think my daughter wore
the jersey day to day. I'm not gonna lie to you.
Sure the drass card jersey.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
My kid was wearing the bend the monkey one yesterday,
which still hasn't been replaced.

Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
By the way, are you one hundred percent sure? Because
it says it was delivered? It is it is delivered
to my house. Can you check your bushes, well, you've
gotten all the other ones. Can you check your bushes
or something like?

Speaker 3 (01:09:21):
You can tell me the day because I have a
ring and.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
I have to go.

Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
It's not delivered.

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
I'll have to also nine years ago, so who knows
if my ring keeps that much well, And it's like
when I when I told them, I was like, yep,
still hasn't been delivered. They're like, it was delivered.

Speaker 4 (01:09:36):
Here's your thing, you know, that's what I went and
you and I You're like, I don't know, maybe it's
low or maybe my wife picked it up and just
never told me. It's like, oh maybe, and then we
just never talked about it since.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
Or didn't tell you it did show up, which means
it this is.

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
True, but you also didn't tell me it didn't. So
well between the lines, maybe I.

Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
Just gonna maybe I just have to order one and
get a shipped to my house, except well, maybe I'll
have to shipped to Jr's house because it doesn't like
my address.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Okay, what else I got?

Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
So, so, how is this Cosmic Recompense being cycled? That's
where we were at before.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
Oh well with zef Punch, So Zef Punch Cosmic Refense
would play call logos zeph Punch archives it you know,
tuck your I don't know, you're one of your strategic feints.
You're gleaming the cube. Maybe you've tuck your rage reset.
Maybe you just like or you just have atrocity in play.

(01:10:31):
Uh and so like yeah, like so basically I did
nothing the whole game. Uh, and then I lost.

Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
I mean that is what TV does in Alliance. It's
real boring.

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Yep, yeah, I mean it did.

Speaker 1 (01:10:48):
I really I did nothing right and and you know,
like our guest like he's because I literally did nothing
the whole game until the final turn where it didn't
matter where like I actually forged a key because like
I was like, wow, He's like, well whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
You can't stop me, and I was like I'll just
forge my key and whatever. But uh yeah, he was like,
oh I feel bad. I was like, dude, like I
did feel bad, but I'm not like.

Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Upset with you, like upset with g G for printing
this ship. Like I don't know, but uh but I
guess is a good guy. So any who, it's good.
I was actually he is moderately Okay, he's moderately okay,
all right, Hey for for Wookie, that's like pretty good.

(01:11:35):
That's pretty good praise. So so you have no Liam
or Mammon. But you know, I mean I don't hang
around with our guests too often.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
Yeah yeah, So.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
AnyWho, I did basically called houses and past turns because
every single time, literally not once did I guess the
house of our guest was thinking of for ask again later,
which is.

Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Pretty pretty stupid, pretty stupid card.

Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
So you know, I watched you play ask was it
also intotobin? He had asked in later? And you're really
bad at ask again later. That's what I have determined.
We're gonna sit down and teach you basic basic math again.

Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
I mean I like literally he was like not playing
Star Alliance. So like every turn I was like, well,
I know he's talking the cosmic repermends, but like it
was like, there's like a whole bunch of clerks in there.
There's a there's that key ju guy. There's like all
this persitions, right, There's all this stuff we haven't seen, right,
So I just keep saying Star Alliance, and it's always

(01:12:45):
you know something else.

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
Any who, Hey, you gave up all your juju when
you played me and took me out.

Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
That's all that's true. I did have to team kill
you walk.

Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Yeah, So I end up I ended up facing dis
this in the first round. Actually very very close game.
I saw the deck and between the Sarian and the Sanctum,
it was a scary board, super super super close game.
This was turn three. I went up to eight and said,
if you have trinks you have trinks. There's nothing I'm
going to do about it. And on turn three he

(01:13:20):
had drinks, so threw that down in my Lorica and
uh no he threw it down, he threw it down
on my star line. So I was actually playing Garan.
I was playing Redemption Shadows Star Alliance. I had a
shakedown Sullivan that was out there because I had just
thrown it out and it just stood there, stunned and
with ten amber or eight amber waiting to be punted away.

(01:13:46):
But even with that, it was close. Uh triple bandit
culver there predatory lending, cover fire.

Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
And we have to go back to coda where we
just don't play creatures, but.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
There is well. I mean, that's that's why, that's why
only one of my wins was because of that. Yeah,
that's why Fraud did very well, and because it just
doesn't play Creed, doesn't doesn't play creatures when that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
Several players the Larkana, the Larkana Infantry, the Disney Infantry.

Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
That it's it's Laurca infantry.

Speaker 1 (01:14:21):
I like infantry, the Disney Infantry.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
I dig it.

Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
Yeah, that's their primary amber control plan. And you just
don't play creatures.

Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
And he don't.

Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
He don't control much Amber.

Speaker 4 (01:14:31):
But I'm saying, even like Trank's creed, like if I
don't have creatures like less less good significantly.

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
Now because spend thrifts and benevolent charities exist.

Speaker 5 (01:14:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
Yeah, because I got boned.

Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
I feel like that. I feel like I was the
way you're going.

Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
You play the bounce game and but you gotta you
gotta have it and you last to half balance, which
there's no guarantee even that exists.

Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
I'll say that with this, this the game was super close.
It finished three keys to two keys five Amber a
little bit I think a misplay on his play at
the very end, but the Trank's creed was not his
actual winning card going ahead and tucking the Plubius Skipio,
which you don't see. It's six power two armor Dino

(01:15:24):
with splash attack. But the fate for the remainder of
the turn after you use a friendly creature deal four
to its neighbors. So I built up a massive shadows board.
But if you're reaping, you're taking out one to two
depending on which side you're going ahead and reaping from.
So that's that's something actually very very key to kind
of keep in mind, you're only getting half the amber,

(01:15:47):
and it came down to one amber for me. The
other one that was massive was that what was it?
He played rage reset. This is right near the end
of the game, second last turn, and the fate goes
off randomly discard half my cards. I had already called
Star Alliance. I am sitting with gearon, which is my like.

(01:16:09):
It only has eight actions, so vaults, blessing, cover fire, predatory, lending,
digital signal, double event horizon and then into the warping
Quatrina flux and I'm sitting with Star Alliants to move cards.
So I have double event horizon with an amber pip,
double Amber pip and damage and then digital signals. So

(01:16:30):
there's five amber right there. And that rage reset. He
picked three cards and hit all three cards and that
was the only three cards that I was playing, and
so that was a turn skip right before the game ended.
He made the mistake in that I had buried sunk
under my Look how far you've come, and so he

(01:16:50):
reaped with all his dinos, and then he went ahead
and played a creature and it blew up all his dinos,
giving me the amber to bump it to two keys
five Amber versus just two keys, So that was like
you could see kind of that look of oh my goodness,
I can't believe that was that close. But again, well

(01:17:11):
played game and deserve the win that was there. But
it is it is a bit of luck of what
is what are some of these prophecies going to go
ahead and trigger? What are the fates that are going
to hit? It's a bummer because you don't feel that
you have control, and I think that's a little bit
more where the frustration comes, especially when you start to

(01:17:31):
see like Blued where cosmic recompense, strategic feint. I don't
have control over it. Trenk's creed is just a stupid
card with what's there, and it's put if it's on one,
if it's on your creature, I'm fine with it. But
putting it on your opponent is anytime anyone has to
play creatures, it's it's a problem. And the Atrocity, Trosity

(01:17:53):
and Soulck they're real good boys, they're real good with
that control. Again, it is what it is. But that
was game one. Game two, I felt bad. I played
Raya and it was not a It was not a
good fun match. It was pretty big blow and and
then draz I played you and you went off. Man,
We've played that matchup before, and I'm like, I feel

(01:18:15):
okay with this. It's about fifty to fifty. This was
not fifty to fifty. I think I got a key
and that was that was it. You You threw down
your Yeah, you hit your geist story to go in
and there was what seven or eight mars out of
the ten after getting haunted, and then you're like, oh, well,
wins of death and then that's all the mars. So
it was it was difficult to watch with the loss already,

(01:18:38):
but I thought you played great to be able to
make it to top eight. So I love seeing that man. Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
So so then we.

Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
Went out drinking. We did not wait to see who
would win. Sealed, which was Hobo by the way, Flaming
Hobo one sealed over Zac and uh oh, we didn't
even mention Alliance. The only thing I'll mention for Alliance.
There were so few players that folks that got a
buy and a loss made top eight eight.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
So yes, this is another event where a loss and
a buy makes top eight, But people who went one
to two with a legitimate win didn't don't so, and
this is it's just a fact of how to works
at that love of player count, it is an inappropriate

(01:19:33):
software and pairing thing for low number of players, especially
when you have odd numbers.

Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
It's it shouldn't be used that it's it's.

Speaker 3 (01:19:43):
Real, but yeah, like and it's you know, it's like
and by the first round by is random, right, the
first round by is totally random. So the way this
event worked was if you got to buy the first round,
you were guaranteed top eight basically uh huh, which is
just beyond stupid for for a parents software. I had

(01:20:09):
nothing to do with the players. And if it's if
it's a format, it's because it's because of the tournament structure.
Now the player count is a whole other issue that
it still can't pull any players. But yeah, that's it
was just funny. I made the joke hes just put
the eleven names in a bag or what it was there,

(01:20:30):
thirteen and just picked eight out at random and been like,
this is your topic. I think that would have been
just as fair. What the player like that thirteen is
thirteen for.

Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
Alliance? Yeah, it was in total seven overall field.

Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
Yeah, so which funny, there's fifty seven for Sealed, and
then there were also fifty seven people playing on our
kind of Alliance Day, and I added to the player
council at least one Sealed player did not play an
Arkon or Alliance.

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
Yeah, do you see that happen? So yeah, and I
know that you talk about Sealed for Hobo and Zach.
We played that Top four game on Saturday night. I
was super hot. Literally, I did not lose a game
Friday at all. We opened up VM twenty five when
we were taking a break, I just won. Everything is

(01:21:28):
super hot, and that's why I'm like, I didn't think
I was gonna win with that deck, and then Saturday
I'm like, I'm going to come in and lose, and
I did. I will say Zach played very very very clean,
did not put it creatures out at the end with
my Lorca infantry in order to be able to fight,
and he cycled back with invigorating shower his diss. At
that point, I had counted that there should have been

(01:21:49):
roughly five to six other cards left, and I had
purged I had seen one loss in the woods with
his untamed So now there's ten discs plus five to
six other cards. I kept calling, asked again it should
be dis twice it was not dis, and I went
ahead and basically said I have scut him out. I

(01:22:13):
should be okay. And he had his bounce with loss
in the woods and that bounced from two key zero
Amber too, that is six amber, and his prophecy went
off basically saying you're not going to go ahead and play?
Was it actions? He had taken my miasthma too, so

(01:22:37):
that was actually Murkins. He saw what my top card
was in Murkins Tip. So it was a great play
in order to get rid of it before. But I
only had the fight, so it was just easy enough.
Most of that Top four game he did not play
a single creature, but he had enough bounce and removal
to go ahead and not cause problems with the creatures
that were there. So very well played awesome in congrats

(01:22:59):
to Hobo and Zach for making it to Worlds. They
get to play wow. Well.

Speaker 1 (01:23:04):
While they were doing that, we were drinking so uh
so I had wanted to go to the Art District,
which had never been to, and heard good things, so
we drove over and uh dropped us off at the
mysterio Miss Scalbar. Uh so we got some tacos and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
The food was really good.

Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
I was very happy with my tacos, very happy with
the guacamole.

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
The all the case was good. The drinks were not
so great. They were there far very sweet. Yeah, because
we got tequila. Dummy, stop ordering tequila. You'll enjoy your drinks.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
It's nothing to do with Tequila's everything reasonable.

Speaker 2 (01:23:49):
Tequila I had.

Speaker 3 (01:23:51):
I had an espresso martini made with tequila, which should
be sweet, but these were. This bar definitely twisted the
things they.

Speaker 1 (01:24:01):
So that was the drinks were not that great, so
that was unfortunate, but the food was good, so it
was still. It was still a victory.

Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
Didn't stay from multiple drinks. Although your second drink came
with like a sweet crack pipe on top.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:24:16):
It was still sweet though. Even though I got the
like miscal old fashioned, they still put a.

Speaker 3 (01:24:21):
Whole bunch of sugar in it, so old fashioned sweet.

Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
You got to cover up the taste. But I love tequila.

Speaker 3 (01:24:31):
Tequila is good. Cheap tequila is not.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Accurate, all right, you got you gotta get.

Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
The darker colored tequilas. And there usually.

Speaker 1 (01:24:41):
Started walking around the art district, which is really cool.
Like actually that area was was cool. It's like, I
don't know, it almost felt like a cool neighborhood with
like lots of lots of cool bars and restaurants and
all this. So so we were walking around there. We
end up at the Craft Creamery Speakeasy, which is an

(01:25:02):
ice cream shop that in the back there's like a freezer,
like one of those walking freezer doors, but like when
you walk through it, there's like a bar back there,
and so like I'm just like walking and head for
the door, and the guy like stops me and he's like, oh,
like what are you here for whatever? And I'm like, shit,
is there a password or something? So I'm like trying

(01:25:22):
to figure out maybe what it is, and like he
what what do you call?

Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
He's like for wands or and riquets or somebody's yeah
or something.

Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
Yeah, And so I was like, is that the prior?
So finally figure out like no, no, there's like a
private party.

Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
So like we're like oh, so like so like we
walk out and we're like could we just like go
back to the two bits and say, well, for Rico, like.

Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
Yeah, yeah, the ice cream was fine.

Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
It did look good.

Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
Yeah, and so so we ended up going up the
street to the Nocturno Cocktail Bar, which in my opinion,
was the best drinks we had in Vegas all weekend,
and maybe the best drinks I've ever had in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:26:13):
It was really good.

Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
I was very pleased with the Nocturnal Cocktail Bar. They've
only been open for I think the guy said four months.
Our server like was asking us about our shirts or whatever.
It turns out he's a Magic the Gathering player, so
we're talking about key Forge and stuff. Meanwhile x Ray

(01:26:39):
is hurting from his butt lift and Sheep is like
falling asleep in the booth.

Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
Yeah. So Saturday or Friday was like twenty six hours
awake straight between work and all the travel and then
getting to and going to play. So I was awake
for twenty six hours straight, slept for five hours, and
then Dascour brings us to a bar with a comfy
couch and strong drinks and says, let's just sit down
and talk. Yeah, so I I pretty much promptly started

(01:27:11):
to pass out, like literally like just falling asleep.

Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
So so yeah, so uh, you walk and I are
like chatting it up, having a great time, like x
Ray is hurting, she's falling asleep.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
One is also like like likes light beer, not craft drinks.

Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
Yeah yeah, so uh so the three of them roll
out and you walk and I stay for for more drinks.

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
And that's it.

Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
If you don't know, you don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Yeah, I mean that's the amount that you walk. Not
you walk that X Ray is you know, willing to pay.

Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
That's an hour.

Speaker 1 (01:27:55):
That's an hourly, right, okay, right now?

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Never mind?

Speaker 1 (01:28:01):
So uh they were all never mind. Oh jesus, this.

Speaker 2 (01:28:08):
Amster wheel is turning.

Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
There's smoke going off for me right now. I got
to go turn my smoke alarms off.

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
I'll be right back. So uh so, so ewok, and
I are drinking more drinks there and whatnot. So I'm
talking about the the server some mar and I was like, oh,
you know, we were like where else should we go drinking?
And he's like, oh, you should check out this place
called Liquid Diet.

Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
They're really good. They're near here.

Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
Uh And then he also says like he's like, oh yeah,
the stray Pirate has like the best tiki drinks he
thinks in Vegas. And I'm like, I love tiki. So
and I was like, well, we went to the Golden
Tiki last night or whatever, and so talking and he's like,
oh yeah, that place is like sort of going downhill.
I was like, dude, I really thought my drinks weren't

(01:28:56):
that good. Then he's like yeah, for whatever reason, they
were like having trouble keeping staff now, and like he's like,
oh yeah, one of the bartenders back.

Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
Like here used to work there. Then he left. Like
it's like something's going on. So that that's unfortunate.

Speaker 1 (01:29:12):
I hope they they rate the ship because because the
Golden Tiki is like famous, famous spot. But so so
we're like, all right, do we go to Liquid Diet
or we go to the Straight Pirate. We decided we
had to the Tiki bar the previous nights we're like, oh,
let's check out the Straight Pirate, so ewoc and I
up and yeah, thank you Liquid Diet. So we we

(01:29:35):
start like just wandering around the streets like up and
down all over like having.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
A good ass time.

Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
We're like checking our phones at this point and like
there's all these videos of like I don't know, other
folks at like the Hofbra House like just getting.

Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
The ship beaten out of them with these paddles. Yeah,
it's like, what the hell's going on? Right?

Speaker 1 (01:29:55):
So then like we we roll up in front of
the the Elvis Wedding Chapel and so I'm like, we're
gonna send them some counter pictures. So of he walk
sticking his bum out and you know, going at it.
So AnyWho I was, I would have stayed away.

Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (01:30:16):
So I stumbled a liquid Diet, which is basically just
like garage, and like there, there's very little decoration. There's
like literally the drinks are on pieces of cardboard that
are like thumbtacked, so like the like the thing hanging
off the ceiling or something. And so drinks were really

(01:30:36):
good there and it was delicious. I thought Nocturn was
a little better, but but Liquid.

Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
Diet was very good. So we were very happy there.
We basically closed the place down.

Speaker 1 (01:30:46):
And and uh ride on back to uh because uh,
you know, well I'm a top cut, right, so I
gotta I gotta get back before yeah, I was.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
I was out at this point, trying to convince Drazz
that we should go somewhere else and he's like, no,
I got top cut from here. I'm like okay, And
since everyone else dish does.

Speaker 4 (01:31:08):
It was it?

Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
So we go back, but well but then we end
up playing games in the lobby, right, I know it
didn't matter.

Speaker 1 (01:31:13):
So yeah, we got back and there's Dev Dev and
Snack and whatnot, and He's there and h a few
folks and like, so we end up uh playing the
gang with them for a while until finally I'm like,
I gotta go pass out because I got to play
key for it in the morning.

Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
So yeah, yeah, so we get back, Sheep's already passed out.

Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Oh god, we gotten that uber. I sat down.

Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
And then I was no.

Speaker 3 (01:31:47):
Chance.

Speaker 1 (01:31:49):
So yeah, we already basically already talked about top cut
right for yeah one, just as we were.

Speaker 3 (01:32:02):
So interesting thing that I saw right in Baltimore, they
ran VM on Sunday and Josh was surprised by the
number of people and everybody signed up for VM. They
ran Crucible Clash here and there was at least eight

(01:32:22):
to ten players worth who just basically chose to play
in a VM sidepod instead of playing in the Crucible
Clap o fact. So Crucible Clap is not getting a
ton of love for Sealed Play. Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:32:38):
One of the cool things they did have on Sunday
was they had a Martian Civil War box, so like,
there was a Martian Civil War situation that fired UPOD
that fired So that was cool. I know Vammon did that,
and I think I think name and JJ did that,
so yeah, that's fun.

Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
That was pretty cool. I did a m.

Speaker 3 (01:33:01):
But I played one game of a VM pod and
then had to get out a plane.

Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
Oh that's right, Yeah you were. You were in the
pod and then you had to hand it off x
Ray right, trying.

Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
To hand it off to e Walk.

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Yeah. Well, but I was playing my new talk deck
that I got and it it just spits out creatures
which is Alpha Gamma, and that was fun. I had
my whole hand in my like the all the cards
from my deck were in my hand or in my
archives except for three cards. So yeah, I was having fun.

Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
You go. My VM deck was bad and I left
it on the table.

Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
Yeah, mine was decently good. I forged keys with the
quiet Anful multiple times. The first time I yelled it
out because the first time I ever did. Everybody looked over, like,
was this fool yelling about.

Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
I will? I will say. As I was playing that
talk h x ray was super excited about his new
PV deck that he had opened, which was his highest sass.
But looking at Talk, it reminded me that out of
the top eight ARCon decks, I was surprised to see Thrall,
two of the eight decks showed up as Thrall.

Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
So thet each other in top eight?

Speaker 2 (01:34:23):
Well right, no, no, top eight. It was PV against CODA,
PV against g R, PV against Talk, and PV against
Talk because TV PV won all four of those matchups,
and that was what.

Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Was interesting, I thought, against each other, I don't know, no.

Speaker 2 (01:34:44):
No, because they were all there. Yeah, so I don't know,
it was it was an interesting It was an interesting
setup and to be able to see I don't know.
I thought they were very well played and they prevented
different problem for PV, especially with the amount of creatures
that can be put into play, and thro All itself

(01:35:09):
goes ahead and causes issues by basically discarding some of
those cards. So if if you don't have them, you
don't have a way to cycle them and what you want,
it can be problematic. Yeah, so SONI.

Speaker 1 (01:35:27):
Thudium one Alliance, So yeah, yeah, congrants then yeah, what's
this about your flight back? You walk in the note too, okay.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
So I love that. I literally one ahead and road
with our little keyboard satchel bag and that was it.
So things are pretty tight. Roll on for roll on
the Spirit in your bag? Is this what was going on?
It was? It was Spirit. It was Spirit. But as

(01:35:58):
we get back in the Milwaukee Oh Man, there was
fisty cuffs. I was surprised that this did not go
all over the news. I was waiting for two of
our our friends who are on this flight with me
to go ahead and be removed by a marshall or police.
So we had a lady who was in first class

(01:36:18):
Spirit who didn't have enough space for her luggie her
little rollie carts, so came all the way into the
middle of the plane where I was sitting on the
wing and put three rollie carts. So as we get
to disembark, she literally like trounces through everyone, kind of

(01:36:39):
pushing them to the side, goes up, grabs the cases,
like comes down and hits multiple people around me. I'm
just watching. I really should have had a drink or
something to enjoy while we're going through here. But then
she proceeds to tell the person front, well, I got
to get back. I got to get up to row four.
I'm all the way up there, and there's five people

(01:37:02):
across on a row. We're ten rows back. You're at
least forty people, probably fifty people between where you need
to be and where you want to be. And she
just gets into it with another lady and the lady's like,
what do you see, Like if I let you through,
you're not getting further than me, which is literally one

(01:37:24):
step in front. And you hear them going back and
forth and it's like, well, she's like, well, I got
work tomorrow morning. And the other lady's like, what do
you mean I got work too, And they're like I
got kids at home, Like are you saying that your
work tomorrow is more important than me getting home to kids?
And you could just see tensions rising and it was

(01:37:45):
great and eventually the ones like, well I don't have
to work at all. I got all these houses and
I got minions who do all the work for me.
That's why I could go to the thingis and I'm like,
oh my goodness. And eventually got some people in the back.
This is great ethnic interlude here between individuals like bro,

(01:38:05):
just just leave them alone and so you could hear
the lady was not backing down. Eventually, our line in
front kind of died down and we were able to
get off. And that was the fastest that I disembarked
a plane. I just high tailed this Airlines And if
I don't ride Spirit ever again, I am completely content
with that. But yeah, we almost had a fight. I'm like,

(01:38:27):
please just let me off. I did a much better
choice because I was going to Sheep rode. We basically
ubered back to the airport at the same time, and
I was gonna take Sheep's flight. I rolled in and
made it home, and then drove another forty five minutes
and made it home before ten o'clock. Cheap What times
you roll in.

Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
Oh, twelve thirty or something, because we sat on the
tarmac for forty five minutes waiting for the plane to
leave the gate, and then we pulled them to the
gate and they're like, oh, it turns out that the
gate isn't so they can't move it. So we're gonna
sit here longer until maintenance shows up.

Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
So while I lost that a lot of things, Spirit
got me there fast and I got home and I
was in bed before ten, and that was so much
better than two something in the morning if I would
have taken the other flight. So I won in that manner.

Speaker 3 (01:39:19):
Yeah, softely did there you go. Actually, all my flights
have were all garbage, but thankfully I didn't have anything
critical scheduled after any of them.

Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
So yeah, And there was a dude who is next
to me who did not have earbuds, and somebody had
literally this sound on their phone that was just going
eh like and like, you know how, like someone would
turn it off. I'm not even joking. This dude like

(01:39:51):
he was listening to it and it was over. This
had to have been going on easily for a half hour.
And I'm like I could hear it through my ear
ear buds, and the guys like, I just got a
raw dog this man, I got no earbuds. This is
so rough. I could not he raw dogged it. As
We're hearing this for thirty minutes of just and then

(01:40:14):
at the end we had some dog that was like barking,
and I'm like, oh my goodness, this is amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:40:22):
All right, Beard Airlines, Beard Airlines. Only the finest folks
fly on Spirit Airlines.

Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Hey, it got me to Vegas and back quick and easy.

Speaker 4 (01:40:32):
All right. Well, with that being said, I think they
we'll do it for our Vegas Vault Tour recaps.

Speaker 3 (01:40:39):
Just the least what he's got to say in a
long time.

Speaker 1 (01:40:43):
Yeah it was nice, Yeah, it was great. We'll skip
all the stuff I did that night. Because I didn't
fly until Monday, I took a nap.

Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
So but make sure you as you drink more classy booze.

Speaker 1 (01:40:57):
I did, although I say, I ended up going getting
burgers and went go to the Megamart with like a
bunch of the reapout folks. Uh, Megamart was cool. And
then instead of going because they got a house way
far away, so instead of going all the way back there,
I was like, oh, just drop me off on the strip.

Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
So I thought that was nice and easy.

Speaker 1 (01:41:18):
Of course we get stuck in a traffic jam, so
force them to wait forever in a traffic jam.

Speaker 2 (01:41:22):
Ha ha ha ha.

Speaker 1 (01:41:23):
I was like, you know, I could probably jump out
of the car walk there faster, and I had to
leave them after I make them.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
Make them drop me off.

Speaker 1 (01:41:30):
So so my plan, my original plan was like because
Mammon and JJ and Marcus were at like a circue
de Sila, so I was like, well, I'll just like
head their way and I'll meet up with them afterwards.
And I got like in the area even with the delay,
like a little early, so I like grab a drink

(01:41:50):
and I'm there and like all my lack of sleep
starts catching up with me, and I'm like, wait, should
I like actually would be like hey, let's go out,
or like let's starting to like crash. So I'm like,
I'm just gonna go back. So I went back and slept,
got a good night sleep, and then flew out the
next morning. All right.

Speaker 4 (01:42:11):
Well again with that being said, make sure you guys
go check out the Patreon Patreon dot com forward slash
Arcon's corner over there, you guys can sign up to

Speaker 2 (01:42:23):

coverage because it really wasn't telecast. It was all about
Alliance Vegas, and there were some real questions about people
talking like, hey, did arcuon really happen it? Did? You
just didn't see it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:42:39):
That was the way they did that with Telle.

Speaker 3 (01:42:43):
Fifty marketing something something something, keep showing Alliance as the
only format makes more players.

Speaker 4 (01:42:50):
Yeah, yeah, no, no, yeah, it has yet to have
been proven correct. But just from remember, only fifty percent
of marketing works. We just don't know which fifty percent,
so we should do none of it. But with that
being said, to make sure you go over to Patreon

The Brothers Ortiz

The Brothers Ortiz

The Brothers Ortiz is the story of two brothers–both successful, but in very different ways. Gabe Ortiz becomes a third-highest ranking officer in all of Texas while his younger brother Larry climbs the ranks in Puro Tango Blast, a notorious Texas Prison gang.
