I don't know how you can actually help develop social
skills for people in the autism spectrum.
I'm going to get right into it right now.
Just don't go anywhere, guys. Welcome back to the Aspy world.
My name is Dan and I have autismand ADHD.
Now I make it my life's goal, mymission in life, my my whole
being to make weekly videos all about helping people, helping
you achieve goals. I mean, it goes beyond just
videos, but this is how I I, I communicate to you guys.

(00:20):
So if you want to be here with me to help improve life and
conditions and create a future for autistic people to unlock
potential and unleash themselveson the world and then positive
awesome affirmation and make sure to hit the subscribe button
down below and hit that notification bell.
So you know, when I upload videos guys, I'm actually also
on all social media platforms aswell.
So if you want to watch other videos on on like TikTok and
Instagram, I'm on all those two guys.

(00:41):
The thing is right, social skills is the probably one of
the biggest issues. Now I want to speak to autistic
individuals like myself. Social skills, social
development, social issues, and the biggest thing on everyone's
mind is from making friends to making romantic relationships to
finding colleagues and making friends at work.
All these things are quite difficult.
So how does one develop social skills when they're on the

(01:02):
autism spectrum? Now there are some steps that we
take to do this. Now before I get into those, I
just want to say that I have an Autism Life Hacks PDF book that
you can download completely freefrom autismhacks.net.
You can do it right now and thatwill just help you and your
life. But developing social skills now
there's two things we need to remember.
There's two things we need to remember.
When you're in a social setting, there are two people there, you

(01:24):
and somebody else. Now, how communication happens
is that you put out particles from your area of space.
Somebody else receives those andthey reciprocate that, so they
send them back and then you receive those.
That's basically the cycle of communication.
Now, if you put this into perspective, all you're doing in
a social environment is understanding their cycle of
communication. If somebody waves and says

(01:46):
hello, when you wave back and say hello, you reciprocate the
cycle of communication. If someone asks you a question,
how are you feeling today? You reciprocate with how you
feel today and maybe you could ask them as well.
So developing social skills is apractice makes progress
scenario. The more that you can expose
yourself to social interaction and ask questions in social

(02:07):
settings, the the easier it becomes.
Now, one of the things I would say is befriend somebody or ask
for advice from somebody who's really social, somebody who's
got lots of friends, somebody who knows how to work the room.
If you can speak to them and sayhow do you do it?
How do you become social and watch and learn from them?
You will win because they were going to be able to provide more
information for you in your situation, in your environment,

(02:27):
in your culture than anybody else will.
Better than me, probably. The other thing I would say is
that if you have the ability to sign up on Facebook or maybe on
a games console to environments where you can, you know, live
chat, obviously, if you're over 18 with other individuals who
are on the autism spectrum in a group setting online or offline,
you can find local support groups of autism and go there

(02:50):
and just be yourself. The more true to yourself you
can be, the easier social skillscan develop because we're all
stumbling over social skills because we're trying to be
somebody we're not. But when you just relax and
become yourself, you win every time.
Now go out and try that. Come back and comment on this
video and tell me how easy it felt once you started to
surround yourself with more social communication.

(03:11):
All right, guys, see you in the next video over a piece.
