Harvey zei zelf: de zes personen die in het verhaal voorkomen zijn niet de hoofdpersonages van dit boek. Het gaat over de aarde. Hoe zien Charlotte en Joost dat? En: er is geen prijs die zo belangrijk is voor de verkoop van je boek als de Booker Prize. Waarom is het commercieel een interessantere prijs dan bijvoorbeeld de Nobelprijs of de Pulitzer?
