SPEAKER_00 (00:19):
We're switching from
the set defensive to offensive.
And so to killing, you know, killing the snake, how is that
or attack attacking the snake?
You talk about that.
SPEAKER_01 (00:29):
No, it's a kill.
SPEAKER_00 (00:30):
Oh, it's a game.
It's a kill, man.
SPEAKER_01 (00:32):
Well, because, you
know, there's a chapter in
Ephesians chapter six thatreally breaks down the spiritual
armor of God.
And that's the first place Iwent to study, like, all right,
how do I, you know, preparemyself to attack the snake?
And and when I was reading, man,I was like, I mean, just playing
sports and stuff.
I was like, man, this isdefensive.
(00:54):
This is like, I'm standing andI'm gonna defend myself when it
attacks.
But that's not killing thesnake.
It's great, don't get me wrong, there's offense and defense, and
you got to be able to defendyourself.
Even the sword of God, thesword, which is the word of God,
was a defense mechanism becausethe sword, the word is the
promises that that can defendoff any attacks, which is which
(01:14):
is true.
And so, but even that wasn'tlike cutting the head off.
So I was like, but then the thevery last part where it says
pray without ceasing, yeah, youknow, that part was it is the
final weapon it gave after thesword.
I was like, pray, pray withoutceasing.
And I was like, so I went andstudied again prayer, just the
basics of it.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
(01:37):
And I was like, Wow.
That just like, oh my gosh.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
We praise him continuously.
And the reason why it clickedwas like, I was thinking of the
story of Jehoshaphat when threearmies came to attack them.
Yeah, Jehoshaphat was like, there's no way we can win this.
(01:58):
Just like, you know, the snake, there's no way.
God says, You don't need tofight this war, it's already
won.
I got the victory for you.
And he had petitioned him.
Jehoshaphat just gave him praisebefore he did a petition.
And that's the thing.
Petition is okay to ask, butlet's praise him before we get
to the ask.
Come on.
You know, so the praise waslike, man, and then it just
connected.
Who was the snake before Adamand Eve?
(02:20):
Yeah, he was the worship leaderin heaven who gave praise.
And so now he's on thereciprocal side, and now we're
gonna take our praise to him.
It cuts his head off.
He can't be around it.
It's the total opposite of whathis assignment was to steward.
He was the worship praise leaderwho turned, uh-huh, turned
narcissist and fell out ofheaven, brought his worship
(02:44):
team, and they're down here nowjust roaming the earth trying to
kill, steal, destroy.
But he cannot be in the presenceof what he used to be assigned
to do, and it cuts his head off.
And so Jehosaphat grabbed hislittle army, went down, he said,
This is what we're gonna do.
We're gonna put all the singersand worshipers on the front
lines, not my greatest warriors,we're not gonna fight the eagle
on the ground, we're going toelevate.
(03:06):
Yeah, we are going to air Jordanon him, we are going to lift his
name up and sing praise.
They did, and the three armieswere probably the greatest
example of the bait kill andbait hook and kill the enemy,
and they all got confused andstarted killing each other.
And they just couldn't be aroundthat noise of worship and
praising the father.
(03:26):
And I was just like, okay, well, okay.
Yeah, like this is this ispowerful.
Praise is the sword that cutsthe enemy's head off.
He cannot be around it.
And so practically now, when I'mable to categorize this snake,
Ray, and I notice that thissnake is is is is the adversity
(03:49):
I'm going through, I start.
I like the eagle, I just take itto the sky now, man.
SPEAKER_00 (03:53):
Come on.
SPEAKER_01 (03:54):
I just take the
snake to the sky.
I'm not gonna fight him on theground.
I know the truths, yeah, youknow, and those are lies.
I'm not gonna get bait, I'm justgonna cut, cut it, and so I'm
just gonna start praising.
And what I recognized as abusiness owner, there was some
situations where I came in wherethere was a neighbor, man, that
was just attacking my characteron a project I was on, just
(04:15):
doing everything it could, likethose three armies coming to
destroy me.
And I was like, man, it wasattacking my character, and the
homeowner came in, and it wasjust one of those very
challenging, my character wasjust feeling like insecure, like
sure, you know, like I was justgetting getting baited, and I
just said, God, I cannot handlethis stress, you know, of of
(04:37):
being attacked like this, youknow, and you know, at every
different level.
And so, you know, I was like, man, I just want to, I'm just
gonna practice what I preach.
Let's see if this cuts, I'mgonna cut the head snake off.
And I just started praising God,man.
And what I realized though, justin a practical sense, in a human
body form, right?
(04:57):
I I kind of my gratitude to Godrelaxed me and focused me.
Just naturally, like, becauseinstead of all the thoughts
running through my head of theattack and what am I doing
wrong, what all this likeconfusion, yeah, I just like
praising God just in gratitude, just focused me.
(05:19):
And then the emotions of whatwas trying to get baited was
gone.
So even if you don't even likeknow God, just the just being
thankful, huge, just period, just a heart and perspective and
mind frame of just beingthankful.
That's how God built us.
He built our mind to havegratitude and moments where
(05:40):
confusion or different thoughtscome in, and it erases the board
to start fresh.
Yeah, and so then I got I got toactually practically think about
how to make my next stepswithout being confused with bait
and perspective.
So it was it was a powerful liketool God gave, not only to
praise him, but just havegratitude, period.
(06:02):
Just say, man, I'm thankful forthis job.
I'm thankful for my workersshowing up today.
I'm thankful for you know, eventhe challenges that come ahead
to help me learn and be better.
And while I was doing that, anyattack that came, I just was
thankful.
I returned it with athankfulness.
SPEAKER_00 (06:18):
Come on, man.
SPEAKER_01 (06:18):
And then she was
powerless, yeah.
Powerless.
The snake, I had elevated thesnake, yeah.
And the snake was just up therefloating, didn't know what to do
because any attack that came onme, I was just thankful.
Yeah, wait a minute, it's notworking.
You know, it's like it's likepowerless.
And so basically, the head wascut off.
There was nothing you could dobecause the attack was on was
(06:39):
words, yeah.
That's all it was.
It was words.
So good, bro.
The words don't faze you, yeah.
You know, and you respond ingratefulness, respond in praise.
You're just elevating thesituation, you're allowing God
to come in now.
So now you're allowing thebuilder of all things to step in
on the front lines.
That's what happens.
You're giving up the frontlines.
That's what Joe Hosephat did.
(07:00):
The king he said, I'm giving upthe front lines for you to step
in.
You're my new marchers in thefront, and then allow God to
operate.
And he's back there watchingthem conf, he's back there
watching them confuse andfighting, and he's probably have
a clear mind on how we're gonnaactually penetrate, you know, to
infiltrate in and take over nowand do what we need to do.
SPEAKER_00 (07:20):
So that's good.
That's awesome.
No, as we head into the close ofthis podcast, I'll I mean the
while you're speaking and and asI'm reading this, Richie,
there's a portion in there whereyou know the snake is meant to
bring your emotions out of you, yes, because he wants you to
react, not to respond.
(07:40):
And that's one of my personallike life things is I always
tell I always tell my wife ormyself to remind myself, hey,
let's not react to things, let'srespond to it.
And the one of the ways we haveto set that up to respond is you
have to have a clear mind, likeyou mentioned.
And like you said, one of thebiggest, what do you call it,
biggest tools you can have isyour perspective.
(08:00):
And and I believe in the grandscheme of things, this book will
100% help you do that in allaspects of business and in life.
And one of the things that I Iwrote here was that you know,
when in in any in any argumentor in any situation, when you
let your emotions run youractions, or you let your
(08:22):
emotions, you know, take controlof how you do how you proceed on
things, you lose control, right?
And control is one of the thingsyou never want to lose,
especially in an argument or inin an interaction where someone
is attacking you personally andyour character and all that, all
that jazz.
And and what you said here wasthat when you posture yourself
(08:43):
to be, you know, thankful andand to have that mindset of
gratitude, you keep yourcontrol.
Because now, any like youmentioned, any of the words that
this person is saying to you orposting online, you know it's
not true, and you're able tohold your ground because you
have that control, and becauseyou're thankful for everything
else that's going around you.
(09:04):
I mean, that perspective shiftis huge.
SPEAKER_01 (09:06):
Yeah, and that's
what I would want anybody
listening today to leave with ifin the simplicity of it is use
the lens of gratitude to toposition yourself to respond
versus react.
And that's the gift that Godgave us, that's the tool he gave
us was praising him.
(09:27):
He doesn't just need praise, heunderstands that's how we're
built, and use him as a tool todefeat the enemy.
SPEAKER_00 (09:34):
That's good.
Yeah, that's okay.
SPEAKER_01 (09:37):
I mean, and it and
it and it's worked real time for
me.
I mean, that is really thatwhole, like, I wanted to really
build up who the snake was inthe spiritual side of things,
but at the end of the day, likewalk around with the lens of
gratitude, watch what happens.
The snake won't even be in yourterritory.
Come on, it can't, it's likeyou're building this hedge
around you, yeah, that it can'teven like he's gonna have to ask
(09:58):
permission, like Job, say, Am Iallowed?
Can I can I try to get I mean, II can't even get in his
boundaries, man.
He's like just always grateful.
Like, what am I gonna do?
Come on, man.
You know what I mean?
So if you can just walk aroundwith the lens of gratitude,
watch your life change, man.
Watch God become yourfrontliner, you know, instead of
you know, you know, trying tofight the snake on the ground.
