So I had no idea I would get backlash about saying, "Hey I think Charlie Kirk might be on to something about this we shold all talk to each other.." thing going on. I got TONS of people tell me to dig deeper and I found a black, gay dude standing up for Charlie

Wait, I thought Charlie was a racist homophobe? Then I was told to quit cherry picking videos. Taylor Swift casting spells? Um, no.

David Jackson (00:00):
Not that you're a liar. Can you give me some some
links to that

Unknown (00:06):
live from the basement. It's building a better Dave.

David Jackson (00:32):
Oh, welcome to Building a Better Dave. As I
said in my last episode, I'mabout done with death. Holy cow,
went to a funeral for my buddy, and it was open casket. And I
was like, Oh, are we still doingthat? Oh, go. Well, yep, that's
Todd. Ah. But here's the thingthat was interesting, is I

(00:54):
didn't know who Charlie Kirk waswhen he was murdered, and so I
put out a thing on my Facebookand said, Hey, I didn't know who
this guy is, but this whole weshould talk to each other. I
think I'm down with that. And Iswear nobody read it. They just
saw Charlie Kirk, and it was onlike a Donkey Kong, like all the

(01:16):
guys eating man, racist, big manhere. And then somebody else and
it was interesting. So I peoplewere like, and it was cool,
because it's friend of mine, right? People that know me,
they're like, Hey, Dave. Like, you know we love you, but like,
you need to dig a little deeper. And so it did. And I think

(01:39):
YouTube thinks I lean a littleright, or maybe a lot right,
what you do, but I also got someleft leaning tendencies in me,
just for the record. And so I golooking, and I found a black gay
guy who went like, point topoint to point, explaining how
Charlie had a point. And I waslike, wait a minute, because one

(02:02):
of the things they say aboutCharlie is he's homophobic and
he was a racist, so we got ablack gay dude saying No,
Charlie made some good points, and he said something I haven't
heard anybody say in a longtime, which was, we didn't agree
on everything, and that's Okay, and I think that's the problem.
But so I think it's inner Ireally believe this is truly

(02:25):
happening, that if I go searchfor Charlie Kirk racist, I'm not
going to get much. But if I wasa blue person, right, if I was a
Democrat and I Googled onYouTube, which I realized makes
no sense. I searched on YouTubeCharlie Kirk races. I'm pretty

(02:48):
sure I could find stuff. I'mreally starting to believe that
I need to log out of YouTube andsearch as a brand new YouTube
user. I'm wondering if that isthe case. And the reason I say
that is because I know I'm like, hey, this the stuff I'm seeing.
Like, this guy makes some prettygood points. And the other side

(03:11):
of this is like, no, no, Dave. And again, they're very some of
them are getting a little lesspolite. Some of the people on
the right getting kind of nastycalling, name calling. That's
not cool, but, uh, let's, let's,let's be civil. But I'm starting
to think that the reason they'relike, Dave, what's how, like,
how are you? I'm starting towonder if maybe the technology

(03:39):
is keeping like, hey, this Oh,you're, you're kind of a red
person. You're going to see thisresult. I just wonder, because
it's so odd that that people onboth sides are like, no, no no.
Like, hey, you need to dig alittle deeper. It's there. You
got to see it. And when I dig alittle deeper, I don't see it.
And so for my friends on theleft, like, if you're like, No,

(04:02):
no, Dave, you're you're missingit. Send me the YouTube video.
And both my buddy, uh, Daniel, JLewis and I are now like, Hey,
thank you for the comment. Canyou send me a link to the video
where he said this? Now we'renot saying he didn't say it.
We're just like, hey, we're indata collecting mode, and so we

(04:25):
can make an honest decisionhere. And so far, nobody's
giving me the links. So peopleon the left, if you're like, No
Charlie Kirk was, you know,we're sorry. He's dead. It's an
awful tragedy, but here's wherehe was a racist, misogynist, and
all the other is right. Send mea link now to my friends on the

(04:51):
right, I was doing a live show, and somebody I was talking about
how Taylor Swift is a marketinggenius, and somebody said, I
don't. Don't lift her up. She'sthe devil. She's she's in with
Satan and blah, blah, blah, bad, bad, bad. And I'm like, Look,
I've been around rock and rollenough to know that, like people

(05:12):
like, oh, Ted Nugent just a drugcrazed maniac. Ted Nugent
wouldn't drink caffeine, like hewouldn't drink coffee. He was so
anti drug. And I'm like, okay, easy there, you know, Mildred.
I'm pretty sure you got thatwrong on TED. So I started, I
read, well, I listened to awhole book on Taylor Swift, and

(05:35):
she's amazing. Like, at 14 yearsold, she had a record deal, and
they just kind of wanted her towait to grow up a bit. And she
said, Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonnarecord my own songs. And I'm
like, no, no. Little Taylor, like, you don't get it, we're
gonna wait, and we're gonnabring in the best songwriters,
and you're gonna sing those andyou just wait a couple years

(05:57):
where you're under a developmentdeal. And she was like, no, no.
I'm pretty sure young girls willlike my stuff. I want to do it.
And they were like, and shesaid, That's it. I'm out. And
she reneged on her, her like, she got out of her, her
development deal at 14 becauseshe had a vision. And I was
like, wow, that takes somegumption, right there. But I was

(06:21):
like, Hey, let's go find thisTaylor Swift Satan stuff. So I
go to YouTube, type it in, andthere was a dude that's like,
I'm here to tell you she's she'sthe devil. And then gave me
absolutely zero proof. His onlything that he showed a video
clip of was at the Super Bowl. She was sitting next to someone

(06:45):
who had an upside down cross. And I was like, okay, all right,
but sitting next to someone doesnot make you a devil worshiper.
I'm pretty sure the last time Ichecked, Jesus sat with tax
collectors. He sat withprostitutes, you know, hung out

(07:05):
with lepers. I'm pretty sure whoyou sit next to does not, you
know, lead you to heaven orhell. I was like, that's
granted, you know, you got to becareful with who you get
influenced by. But, and therewas one thing where she was on
some sort of award show, and shewas singing in a white dress,

(07:28):
she stood behind a bunch ofdancers who then did some sort
of rip off her clothes, and shehad a black dress on that was
much higher cut, and a bunch offlame shot up, and I'm like,
Yeah, rock and roll, what do youexpect? But again, I don't know.

(07:49):
I cannot find, like, actual, Oh,I saw where the again, I did a
thorough search. I looked at herlyrics, and one said, karma is
God. And I was like, okay, soshe's into karma. Well, what is
karma? Well, karma is, you know,if you do good deeds, they will

(08:11):
come back to you. And I waslike, Where have I heard that
before Do unto others as youwould have them do unto you?
Huh, okay, and then she's reallyinto the number 13, yep. Like,
really into the number 13. Well, you know, do you have that

(08:33):
family member that has thatweird hobby, like, for my
family, they're like, Yeah, Igot this guy that does
podcasting, but I have a niecethat does a lot of live action
role playing that I love myniece. But if you're not into
live action role playing, muchlike if you're not into d and d,

(08:53):
if you're not into, I don'tknow, model trains, if you're
not into whatever the hobby is,you're kind of like, okay, you
be you.
And so I say to you, person onthe right that thinks Taylor
Swift is the devil. I'm notsaying you're wrong. I'm just
saying maybe when I go to searchfor Taylor Swift is the devil

(09:16):
and other types of searches, Ican't find anything. I need some
proof. So again, I'm in datacollection of this, not saying
there isn't anything out there, just saying I haven't found it.
But I know her, she's very goodat making ear worms that just

(09:36):
hook into your brain that youend up humming over and over and
over. For me, the thing that Ikind of went huh, was I watched
her tiny concert on YouTube, andI was like, Okay, I kind of just
treated her like a pop star, andher songs were simple, you know,
she had great hair, but I waslike, I'm not really gay. Admit,

(10:00):
but she is a person who knowswho her audience is, and gives
them exactly what they want, andthen goes the extra mile. I
could do a whole episode onTaylor Swift and the insane
thing she does to connect withher audience. Just none of them
have, you know, slitting goatsor pentagrams or anything like

(10:22):
that, not that I've seen atleast so in this kind of world,
we got to back up our stuff withsome videos or some sort of
evidence, because the mainstreammedia is not trustworthy because
they're bought and sold by bigpharma and everybody else, and I

(10:44):
love all my friends on socialmedia. But if you're only seeing
the left side, or you're onlyseeing the right side, you're
not getting the whole picture. And so we're all gonna have to
go, yeah, not that you're aliar. Can you give me some some
links to that? I want to seethat myself and make my own

(11:08):
decisions, because that's whatthe media is supposed to do.
They're supposed to go, here'sthis side, here's this side.
This is what happened. Thiswould happen. This is the
result. And now you get todecide if that's bad or good.
But I just, I'm really startingto think that the algorithms
might be set up, because I'veread they are. And I'm starting

(11:32):
to think, yeah, that's true, where only blue people see blue
results to keep them veryenshrined in the blue world. And
so that when somebody sayssomething from the red thing,
they're like, How dare you. Howdo you even think that that's
ridiculous, and you keep all thered people together, and that

(11:53):
way, when a blue person sayssomething, they're like, How
dare you. Good day, sir. Right?Cuz, how can you even think that
all I see is red, and I'm reallystarting to think that might be
actually true, until then, hangin there. It's gonna get better.

(12:17):
You. You.
