advice to fit my uniquecircumstances with chronic
illness, feeling frustrated andmore burned out than I already
was while managing my chronicillness to becoming an award
winning coach with a flexible, sustainable online coaching

I found the surprisingly simplesteps to starting and growing a
profitable business withoutcompromising my health Since
(00:49):
then, I've helped dozens ofwomen just like you learn how to
do the same.
If you're ready to create athriving business that aligns
with your lifestyle and wellbeing, you're in the right
place.
Together, we're shifting thenarrative of what's possible for
women with chronic illness andhow we make a living.
This is Business with ChronicIllness.
2024 Reflections and 2025 A (01:13):
So,
hello, I am coming to you live
from my new home and I cannotbelieve that it is the last
month of the year and that we'rein just a few weeks away from
2025.
Just saying 2025, it soundscrazy.
(01:35):
But I wanted to start off thisepisode first with some
gratitudes and thanks to all ofyou.
Some of you have been followingme for a while.
Some of you are new around theinternet.
Audio waves and I just want tosay how thankful I am for your
(01:55):
being subscribers listening, downloading, and just really
leaning in to the content Icreate.
This content comes from a realplace of love.
It comes from a place of wantingto be of service to all of you,
hopefully sharing some of thethings I share with you, The
(02:16):
teaching, the mindset things, the questions, the journal
prompts, the perspective things, the questions to ask yourself,
the strategies hopefully opensup a world of possibility for
you.
And.
I am just thankful to have amedium like this that allows me
the space to come to you fromwherever you are in the world to
(02:40):
serve you and be able to helpyou feel hopefully that you're
not alone and that what youthink is impossible for you, May
not be so impossible because ofthe show and all of the women I
get to connect with and people Iget to connect with.
So in this episode, beyond justtelling you, thank you, I want
(03:01):
to take a moment for you topersonally reflect on some of
the things that you experiencedthis year.
Some of the growth, thelearnings, Some of the things
you decided to keep and some ofthe things you decided to say.
Thank you.
No, thank you, too and Reallyjust take a moment to
Acknowledge those things, youknow, oftentimes at this time of
(03:24):
the year people are looking athow can they rev up for the new
year?
how can they get ready and likeDo all of that stuff.
Also, you're looking at thewhole year and like looking at
how you didn't reach your goals, how you didn't get to where you
wanted to go, or if you did getto where you wanted to go, how
you can make it better.
And I think it's so important tobe able to take the time to be
(03:45):
okay and celebrate the being andthat what has been done.
That is as important as the workis in creating.
The goals and the plan for nextyear, because what you feel
about what you accomplished thisyear or didn't accomplish this
(04:06):
year will follow you and yourgoal setting and your mindset
around what you can do next yearor what you're capable or not
capable of.
We had a whole conversationabout this inside of my
chronically you and profitableprogram, which is my group
coaching program, where we Wetalked about what are your
goals?
What are some of the thingsyou're excited about?
(04:27):
Some things you're not excitedabout?
And like, how are you feelingabout what you did do?
And what did come about and Iknow there's probably lots of
content that you're looking atand you're like doing vision
boards and doing all of thestuff and you're preparing for
2025 or you already haveprepared for 2025.
But I also want you to take asmuch time to reflect on what is
(04:51):
good about what happened thisyear, what was hard this year,
and what lessons you learnedfrom that.
And what.
Thoughts and mindsets justyou've had to overcome or change
in order to create Whateverresults you have in your life.
What surprised you this year?
(05:12):
What are you most proud ofright?
These are really powerfulquestions that I think will help
you really turn whatever youfeel about this year into a more
full throttle view versus a onesided view.
I also want to say the mindsetyou bring into creating goals
(05:35):
and planning for next year ishighly reflective in how you
acknowledge And accept andbecome aware of your thoughts
and your decisions and yourresults and your beliefs of what
happened this year.
Okay.
Some things I want to share withyou from my experience.
(05:57):
Top lessons from 2024 Mindsetsomething this year.
I had to learn to embrace isthat the slow growth And I think
i've always thought this I teachyou guys this baby steps baby
steps, but this year I reallyleaned I really leaned into
embracing slow growth and itchanged My whole approach to a
lot of different things and Iwas a lot more Compassionate
(06:21):
with myself.
I was not beating myself up.
I wasn't trying to like Competewith myself to be better than
what I was.
I gave myself a lot of grace Andit amazed me in how much
unlearning I had to do and alsorelearning of what my voice is,
what it is that I wanted, whereit was that I wanted to go.
(06:44):
And that came from slowing downbut still doing the work, right?
And that also applied not justonly in my business, but in my
personal life.
I slowed a lot of need to alwaysbe around people, do things, go,
go, go to really sitting withwhat is it that I feel and what
is it that I want?
What is it that is important tome?
(07:07):
And that helped me break a lotof molds open this year.
And I really do think that hasled to shifts in my
relationships with folks.
And it's really helped me geteven closer with others in ways
that I didn't think was possibleand put us in a place that now
we're in a good place as far aslike decisions that are truly
(07:30):
our own, that feel good, thatdon't feel obligatory, that
feel.
Like there are own load if youwill now life of chronic illness
this year has been a interestingyear It has been Lots of ups and
downs.
There's been lots of new thingsgoing on.
There's been lots of things thatI just thought I was done with,
(07:52):
right?
And the OG brain of my chronicillness is like, you're never
done with learning new thingsabout your body.
And it is something that thisyear, again, the slowing down
and being more intentional hasallowed me space for giving
myself the roadway or thepathway for understanding what
(08:13):
is my new normal, what is my newpacing, what is my new capacity.
And I'm thankful.
I'm thankful for that.
So now I want to talk about whatI think is going to happen in
the space of entrepreneurshipand for creatives, those living
with chronic illness and coachesand in the health industry, if
you will, if you guys don'tknow, fun thing, I started my
(08:36):
certification for healthcoaching just like a month ago
as of recording this in 2024.
And I'm super excited becauseit, Really is a full circle
moment.
I never thought I would want tobe a health coach, but this
health coach certification isreally based on me getting a
more found, like understandingmore fundamentally how the body
(08:56):
works.
I feel like I learned a lotabout that with my life coach
and my life coaching, um,certifications that I've done in
business coaching and learn alittle bit about life.
And especially with myprofessional aromatherapy.
Certification I learned a lotabout the body like so much but
now I wanted to give it anotherlens that comes from an even
more full Complete space.
(09:18):
So I'm in the process ofbecoming a certified health
coach So I'm excited about that, but I wanted to share with you
what I think is coming up As faras business is a concern and the
way that we operate living withchronic illness in the world.
And I think it has a lot to dowith this experience of the
hybrid running your business, living your life online, and
(09:40):
also finding community andcollaboration.
This is no different.
I feel like I say this everyyear.
Like every year people say, yeah, this year is going to be a
year where there's morecollaborations and da da da da.
Here's what I want to say.
Collaborations have always beenprofitable.
They have always beenmeaningful.
They have always been impactful.
I just think that in 2025, theywill mean more.
(10:02):
The way you authentically showup and be yourself and tell your
story, the more powerful thosecollaborations will be.
And if you're living withchronic illness and you're
deciding to build a business, itwill become easier if you choose
to do this with, through longform content and community
building, it will be essentialfor you in order to create the,
(10:28):
The long term nurturing sequencethat will be the way people buy.
So we all noticed that peoplewere buying, you and I were
buying this year, but it took usa lot longer to make decisions.
It took us a lot moreconversations or following
people to make a decisionwhether or not we're going to
invest with them.
Long form content does this.
(10:49):
Yes, video is great, short form, but I have found based on a lot
of the things that I'm seeing onthings like TikTok and YouTube
and things like, what is thatplatform called that people
write on?
Oh my gosh, what is thatplatform called?
Lots of people are writing onit.
I'm going to look it up.
It's Substack.
Things like substack have becomeextremely popular.
(11:14):
And the other thing that hasbecome even more popular, and
again, you guys, these thingsjust happen in cycles, just
honestly in the marketing andbusiness side of things.
These things all just come incycles and run the cycle of
community building being like ahuge part.
But what's More of a cycle ismemberships like that's
something that small businesses, even local health and wellness
(11:37):
companies, non health andwellness companies are trying to
create this experience of anexclusive experience, a
membership where you getexclusive access or exclusive
content or exclusive experiencesbecause of being a part of these
memberships or vicariouslycommunities.
Now, like I said, none of thisis new.
(11:58):
That's not new under the sun.
It's just having an uptick.
I believe that's going into2025.
And so my thing has been likethe fundamentals, which has
always been community marketingand sales and having a holistic
life and business system thatsupports your overall goals and
lifestyle and your wellbeing.
(12:21):
is the key to creating asuccessful, sustainable, growing
business.
And this year it's just comingaround 2025, looking to 2025,
where you see brands reallyprioritizing community, whether
it's free or paid.
And you see a lot of peoplediving more into those long form
(12:41):
content.
Um, platforms writing long blogposts or doing videos or doing
podcast podcast has the biggestinsurgency This year like it
grew a lot and it's still one ofthe lowest saturated Spaces in
the market as far as marketingand it's going to continue to do
that because people arecontinuing to be on the go
You're going to be going tothose networking events going to
(13:03):
be driving going to be doing allthose things and you're going to
want To listen to somethingalong the way and people are
going to start making that evenmore of their routine You
Audiobooks became more popularthis year, like massively on
Amazon.
There was an uptick and AIbecame a really important thing.
I think AI, of course, is goingto continue to be.
(13:24):
thing that we need or peoplewant to have.
But because of AI, the fact thatcommunity is growing is it to
me, it's just a byproduct of thereason why community is becoming
more important because as greatas AI is in saving us time and
money and all of that, communityis what allows us to grow
(13:47):
faster.
It's what also helps us tocreate this web of resources and
connection that is humanly likeneeded, heart centered wise.
Like we're humans, we needhumans, we need that connection.
It's literally a need.
It's literally part of ourpsychological need of being
accepted or being in a spacewhere we're understood and seen.
(14:11):
So, As much as we're going tosee AI do its thing in 2025,
we're going to see morecommunities create more
communities.
What I also think is going tohappen with communities is going
to be more niche than broadcommunities.
I think even within communitiesthat are really broad and who
they are looking to support, they're going to be what I think
(14:34):
are more pods coming in.
creating more niche communities.
And so this is really importantfor you to be really clear on
your values and the things thatmatter to you most and things
that are crucial as part of thereason why you're going to be
showing up in your business orstarting a business.
That's my kind of thoughts aboutthis.
(14:55):
The other thing I was thinkingabout when related to this, of
why I think this is going to beso important.
Tick tock.
Talking head videos, long form, longer than 15 seconds, longer
than three minutes, now up to 10minutes or going live has
intensified and increased and ithas shown that people are
(15:16):
watching and viewing thosevideos longer.
So people are craving thathuman, human, real talk, real
life, not necessarily alwayspretty life, right?
And so as we see that, it just,to me, gives a mark.
to or not to the fact that inour marketing and our sales, we
have to be human centered.
(15:37):
We have to be human servicecentered, focused on what does
the client need?
What are they telling me thatthey need?
And as it an integrity and thevalue systems that I.
I have an eye.
I can fulfill.
There's going to be a lot moreneed for customization with
clients because of seeing howmany of us are trying to create
(16:01):
a very unique solution for ourunique situation.
And it's being flexible tocreate that, right?
Whether in a broad sense in yourmarketing and your nurturing or
in your offers and servicesaltogether.
So that's just what I think isgoing to happen in 2025.
I could be wrong.
Thank you.
I am just a girl on theInstagram and podcast.
(16:23):
We've been doing this for eightyears, crazy or not, and we'll
see what happens.
We'll see what happens.
I know for me going in 2025, I'mso excited.
I'm going to be doing more inperson events, especially
because I'm in this beautifulcity of St.
John's, Florida, and we areGoing to be working through
networking and connecting withthe community here.
(16:43):
I'm going to be leaning a lotmore into my aromatherapy.
That's just my world.
I love to hear what yourexcitement or the things you're
looking forward to for 2025.
I also like to hear what youfeel like this year was for you.
Was it hard?
Was it not so hard?
