Technology just keeps moving! It’s an unstoppable car that’s evolving into a plane mid flight! We are currently in the era when the plane is evolving into a spaceship! In fact, the only time in publicly acknowledged academic history that we might be able to relate to this wild world unfolding before us, is ancient mythology!
This re-enchantment continues to affect our personal and social norms, practices, and beliefs. Amidst this changing landscape is a digital pilgrimage to explore (and some might argue, conquer) the vast horizon of digital real estate. Much like outer space, or the deep oceans, cyberspace is an acknowledged domain (militarily), one that appears to mirror the non-corporeal parts of our human existence, like our emotions, the mind, spirit, and soul.
As the Internet evolves from Web2 (defined as the era of centralized platforms for social media, cloud services, and e-commerce) INTO WEB3, (decentralization, blockchains, distributed ownership, trustless transactions, and greater privacy through smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps)) IT BEGS THE QUESTION: Is there room for FAITH in Web3 and beyond?
We believe it is here in the Canarium bcuz the Bible seems to outline this exact era very colorfully in eschatological passages found in Scripture. But if our metrics and analytics are correct, many of you listening/tuning in right now, are still stuck in Web2, under the convenient oppression of centralized authority and corporate interests extracting your time, money, attention and energy!
SO it’s time for us to start migrating from Web2, into Web3. It’s truly is a Digital Oregon Trail moment for our generation! But Basil and I are old curmudgeons at this point. We need the perspective of a younger generation. So we plucked out someone from the leading community in Web3, which is the Doginal Dogs, who also happened to be Canadian, to guide us about that and much more! Here from Web3, VEE!
