In this episode I got to interview my friend Ashley Simpson. Ashley is a survivor of child sexual abuse from her step father as well. We have similar stories except Ashley has had to unfortunately deal with the backlash from her family after she reported her truth once she was an adult. Her family including her own mother, chose to side with her perpetrator (her step dad). In this episode Ashley tells us her story of survival as well as what happened when she told her truth and how she has had to cut ties with family to take care of herself and her own mental health.
