Today, we have a short minisode about getting past the ATS or applicant tracking systems -- aka the ROBOTS. We’ll give you some advice today, which will help you get more results and interviews from the companies that you care about.

We’re going to spend some time describing what applicant tracking systems are and how they work. Then, we'll cover these 4 quick steps on how you can start getting noticed by these systems.

  1. Print job postings (and possibly O*NET Online pages) as your research.
  2. Create a word cloud on Wordle.
  3. Highlight keywords. (Focus on position titles and nouns common to the position).
  4. Integrate them subtly in your resume.
