Desde el pasado 9 de junio, el pueblo de Hong Kong ha estado en las calles manifestando una seria de protestas. Inicialmente, en oposición a una ley de extradición presentada por el gobierno de Carrie Lam, la jefa ejecutiva. Ahora las demandas abarcan más temas como: la retracción de la caracterización de las protestas como “disturbios”, la liberación y exoneración de manifestantes arrestados, el establecimiento de una comisión independiente de investigación sobre el comportamiento policial y el sufragio universal para las elecciones al consejo legislativo y al jefe ejecutivo.
En el episodio de esta semana, tuve la oportunidad de reunirme con Roberto Figari. Un economista conducta panameño que lleva viviendo los últimos seis meses en Hong Kong y ha podido ver de primera mano los desarrollos de las protestas.
