Matthew begins his gospel by laying out Jesus' family tree. What's interesting about this family tree, especially for that time, is that he includes 5 women. What even more interesting is that these women aren't the type of women you'd expect to see in Jesus' lineage - their lives were filled with scandal and most of them weren't even Jewish! Through these women we see how inclusive the family of God should be. We continue our series by looking at the third woman in the genealogy, Ruth, and how God welcomes the broken into his family.
