The European Commission has put forward a series of proposals designed to simplify European Union sustainability rules and boost the region’s competitiveness. As a result, application dates for EU due diligence and sustainability reporting requirements have been delayed by two years. Other proposals such as reducing the frequency of reporting and narrowing the scope of supply chains are still subject to trilogue negotiation.
