Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are back. It is game week. Colts Corner with myself,
Kevin Bowen and Eddie Garrison is across the way. Certainly
one you circled back in May, and if I would
have told you, I don't know, probably back in early September. Hey,
Colts Chiefs, one team trying to keep their playoff hopes
alive and the other competing for the one seed. You
(00:21):
would have said, oh, for sure that checks out. Well
the NFL, you never know, and that storyline still here,
both of them. But roules reverse certainly, but the Colts
competing for the one seed in Kansas City and probably
the most deaf con state I think they've been in
in the Mahomes era. Eddie, we had Nate Taylor. Well,
Nate Taylor. First off, I should say, hi, how are you?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Hello? I'm good, how are you good? Fatherhood of three
going well?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Uh yeah, Well clearly you saw my brain there wasn't
functioning on all levels, so hopefully I'll make it through here.
But yes, Nell, he's doing great, So thank you for asking.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
You know, we've had Max Bowen, you know appearances the
last two pods are weeginning a third? Like? Do we
have another story to yeah, I got that we can
safely tell or nothing since last week.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, I wish we do need to do a helmet
crawl this afternoon when after I after we do this
podcast and I pick him up, so he wasn't too
keen on doing it on Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
There.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I think the Chief's helmet's throwing them off a little
bit here. So we'll see how that goes in a
little bit. But you know, we had Nate Taylor on
who covers the Chiefs, and you know, I just asked him,
he's covered the chief since twenty eighteen, has it ever
had this much desperate nature to it? And you know
he pointed them maybe at one point like in twenty
twenty one, but you know, again, I don't think anything
(01:36):
to this degree. And you know, I think give him
the age of Travis Kelce. I think it's just the
thought of, all right, are you walking up the old
eighteenth hole here? So I will go over you know,
certainly a lot about Colt's Chiefs, the return of Chaveri's
war to practice. I did want to start just a
little bit on an overview of where the Colts are
at coming back from the bayet He since we didn't
have the Monday Pod. You know, we don't really and
(01:57):
we'll probably do this a little bit here over the
next month and a half. If you kind of take
a glance at those standings now each and every week,
it is a bit odd just how the scheduling bye
weeks cycle through. The Colts walked into the bye week
the number one seed. They walk out of the bye
week the three seed. Again, that's because Denver is now
(02:18):
on their bye week. New England we'll be on thereby
here in a couple of weeks. But Colts chargers of
the playoffs started today. You know one thing that's definitely
in the Colts favor They are the only AFC team
with just a single conference loss. And again, when you
get into tiebreakers, that AFC or I should say that
conference record tiebreaker, it can pop up a lot, especially
(02:40):
if you haven't faced teams. You know, with Denver, of
course the Colts have the head to head, but with
New England you would go to conference tiebreaker. And the
Colts again are the only team in the AFC with
just a single conference loss. So if you're gonna lose
games down the stretch, you want that to be Seattle.
You want that to be San Francisco. You know, those
are the games that you know, just have a little
bit less of importance then obviously the AFC South ones
(03:02):
and even Kansas City has And just with how the
schedule lays out, and you got Houston twice and it
looks like cz Strad'll be back for that game next
Sunday in Jacksonville two more times too. It's just, I mean,
the cultu are in a great position, but by no
means is that sign sealed the livered the AFC South right,
(03:22):
just with the nature of four more divisional games. And
one thing to note too on the Cult schedule. And
we've kind of hit on this now for the past
few weeks. You know, we got into this conversation a
few weeks ago, Eddie. Have the Colts answered all the questions?
And I think at that time when I was asked that,
I think it was just before the Pittsburgh game, I
said to you, they've answered all the questions presented to
(03:44):
themselves so far. There are a few more different questions
left to be answered, if you will. Yeah, and at
Pittsburgh and in Germany, and then now you look at
the final seven, the Final seven, a lot of those
questions pop up. You face seven teams that are above
five hundred right now, five hundred or better I should
(04:05):
say Kansas City at five and five. So again, it's
a much more difficult schedule. I think it's like the
third or fourth toughest in the league here down the stretch.
So if you look at Jacksonville and you look at
New England teams right there with you, they don't have that.
Houston definitely has a tougher schedule, but you know, again
they're they're three games back, so probably pretty maature to
(04:25):
talk about them at all. So just kind of want
to go over a little bit of the standings before
we get into Colts news items and transition into chief talk.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I mean, it's just fascinating, you know how much the
NFL changes from literally week to week, because we're going
into the bye week last week and we were talking
about just I don't know if we do we do
a pot last week.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
It's been that long. We did one. Yes, we did
one Thursday.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yes, we talked about how things could dramatically shift for
the Colts and they're you know, in relation to the
AFC South because of you know, Jacksonville, if they lost
then you have a three game.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Lead over Jacksonville because they were playing kind of a
coin flip game, right Jags Chargers, and certainly wasn't a
coin flip.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah, And I know we kind of rid them, wrote
them off. But Houston looks like they're, you know, they've
gotten something. The offense seems to have stabilized a little
bit with Davis Mills, and you know, it'll be interesting
to see what it looks like when c. J. Stroud
comes back, even though they did struggle in Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
And like on paper, Eddie, your easiest teams, and I
say easiest in quotes record wise, are quarterback by two
dudes who have won playoff games in each of the
last two years. One of them is the greatest quarterback
probably in an NFL history and Mahomes and the other
with CJ. Stroud. You know, you look at Houston's defense,
(05:43):
I don't know Houston with Stroud Nico Collins in that defense,
that's not a unit. I necessarily just you know, you're
gonna walk over and they seemingly are surviving with Davis
Mills right now. And we'll see how my Thursday night goes.
You definitely want to be a Bills fan if you're
the Colts with that one, Okay, let's transition to Colts
and items, and let's start with Tavarious Ward back to
(06:03):
practice today in a blue jersey, I would note as well.
So again, all signs I think continue to point towards
Sunday being a very real possibility as long as there's
no setbacks from practice itself. You know the thing about
having a concussion and be on an ir for a month,
it allows you to still, you know, provide some cardio
(06:23):
and again, I at this point, I would think he
would play. You know, it would be his first game
back at Arrowhead since playing there. He has played Kansas
City before, but you know that's where he spent his
first four seasons in the league. So yes, you could
be looking at him and Sauce Gardner, and you know,
I think a comparisoner at least a conversation that you have, Eddie,
(06:43):
is the Forest Buckner's loss versus the return of Mooney
Ward yep, And how do those two play alongside each other?
You know, we'll get to lou Ana Rima and Patrick
Mahomes here in a bit, but you know, if you
look at Low's history, with Mahomes, A lot of the
success has been a little bit more seven to eight
man drop driven and natural pass rush with whatever that
(07:07):
three four, maybe even a five man front looks like.
But without Buckner, I tend to think you need to
commit more to the pass rush. Okay, is that a problem? Well,
it might not be a problem if it's Sauce and
it's you know, Moody war back there. Jalen Carlais also
returned to practice today. Now, first off, the Carlis injury
(07:28):
ankle much longer absence, so you know, remember Jalen Jones
fell into that he needed two weeks before he got back.
I assume that would be the case for Carlais. And
I'm not sure if there's a position that has changed
more corner probably, but linebacker's right up there as the
one spot next to Sire Franklin has altered a lot
(07:51):
since the start of the off season. Yeah, you know,
back in March, Eddie, we just assumed it would be
Carlais never really seemed to fall into total favor with
the Landa Room. Well that's me speaking a little bit
out of turn, but that's just my assumption. Then we
go with the Joe Bachi thing and then the camera
grown thing and Austin and Jake. I'm sure I'm forgetting
the other linebackers that got chances there, and you know
(08:14):
lately they've settled on Jermaine Pratt.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
So did a Lubi get a chance?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
I feel like a Loubi never really got a chance,
which again it was kind of confusing to me given
his special team's history and on defense he's but all right,
But you know, one thing to know a linebacker, and
Rumo has been willing to rotate, and Carlai's skill set
wise should be different than the guys they have. So
if you get into some of these more passing teams,
you know, would that be.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Something you explore a little bit.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
But Ward and Carlai's builth back again, Ward, I would
say returns earlier than Carlais still knows Taekwon Lewis there
had to have been a step back. I mean he
got hurt in that Chargers game. He came back two
weeks later, Eddie and practice full on a Thursday and Friday.
That is almost a lock you play that Sunday. I
think Shane said something to the effect today of like
(09:02):
the injury, the growing injury, did not respond well. He
was doing some jogging off of the side, but did
not practice. Samson Ebcom and Anthony Gould, though back to work,
and I guess we should mention Anthony Richardson still not
practicing again, him and Ward both eligible to return today,
(09:25):
still rehabbing. As the phrase that.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Have even seen him around?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Shane used, I have I have not no again. I
think I said this maybe a pot or two ago.
You know, I think it was quite the scene in
that locker room. And it was, I mean it was
I assume people realize, I mean, this was a very serious,
you know, injury and obviously a very jarring nature and
(09:50):
how it was suffered and when it was suffered and
all that in the orbital fracture, et cetera, et cetera.
And I think I said to you, you know, pretty
shortly thereafter, have we seen the last of Anthony Richardson
in a Colt's uniform? You know, I'm still kind of like, Okay,
is he gonna return this year? What is that gonna
look like? So we'll see, you know how that plays out.
For what it's whereth Daniel Jones Eddie if he starts
(10:13):
and plays every snap, meaningful snap. This weekend will be
the first time in his career he's ever reached this
point of the season and not missed a snap due
to either injury or poor play. So again we're getting
into the Daniel Jones, you know, mid November, late November.
It's unusual to see him, you know, playing period at
(10:34):
this level, whether that's health related or whether that's his
own ability related.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Performance. Yes, performance, Thank.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
You Riley Leonard. Of course the backup here unless you
got anything else. I see George Odom was back. Shout
out to George Otom.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah, they did make some shifts on the practice squad,
didn't they.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
The legend George Otom. I'll never forget when he started
against Kansas City, the upset on Sunday Night football there
and twenty nineteen and then, gosh, I've kind of forgotten.
We were discussing in the media room today, Jake Arthur
brought up the name JJ Wilcox. It was great recall
by Jake. I totally forgot that Wilcox started in that
(11:13):
playoff game. All of a sudden, it got me looking
at it. I was like, man, remember the name of
Roland Milligan, wasn't it Roland or something different. Wasn't it
a different pronunciation? Maybe could have apologies to the Milligan
family for that, but yeah, I mean, looking back on it,
I was like, man Odim probably could have started in
that game. Anthony Walker, ironically enough, started in that playoff game,
(11:36):
and now here he is in the Colts practice squad
some you know what is it? Six seven years later?
Speaker 2 (11:41):
So six? Oh god, I can't believe I did that.
I can't believe you said that.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Why do you say it?
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Like?
Speaker 1 (11:46):
How do you why are you saying that? Shouldn't you
be in the age range that like doesn't say that
or doesn't isn't exposed to it?
Speaker 2 (11:52):
I don't know. We've got listeners of all age and demographics.
I feel like, Kevin, we gotta stay hip. You know.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
The thing that's frustrating me not only six seven, but
I feel like with the uh, the old replay reviews
in basketball? Now, where can get every little kid at
a call that goes wrong yep, towirling his fingers yep
and looking towards his bench yep. There's just no way
around it, is there? No is got to get off
(12:20):
my long comment? Should I just shut up?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
And one other guy that you didn't mention Anthony Gold
was back at practice today.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, Gold was back. I don't you know, Josh Downs,
I don't know. Maybe a little too risky for some,
but you know, where there's risk, there can be some
reward with Down. So we'll see how that plays out.
I'm not sold on Gold necessarily back back this week.
So we'll see again a Mira Abdullah and Anthony or
what's his name, Ashton Doolan. It provided some nice sparks
and the kick return department there, So yeah, we'll see
(12:48):
about Odim to go back to him for a second,
you know, special teams legend and elbow injury. I forgot.
He's thirty two years old, and so we'll see exactly
how he fits into things. Unless you got anything else,
I'm good to dive into a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Chiefs. Actually, remind me what was the injury for Gould again?
I forget.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
I want to say it was ankle or knee.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Okay, yeah, that sounds about right. You know. The story
quarterback by Patrick Mahomes. He's having another Patrick Mahomes kind
of season. Eighteen touchdowns interception number a little higher than
some previous year. Six this year, completing sixty five percent
of his passes. The real struggle KB before Kansas City,
(13:29):
and this is how this was the recipe that Denver
used and it'll be interesting to see if this is
how the Colts will opt to go on Sunday against
the Chiefs. They don't have a run game. Kareem Hunts
the leading rusher. He's got three hundred and fifty three yards.
Isaiah Pachecko has not been good when he's been out there.
Don't know the status of Pachecko just yet for this weekend, but.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
You practice today.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
I could be wrong on that, okay, but even still,
they don't run the ball a time. They've got the
least amount of carries in the NFL. Travis Kelcey is
the is their leading receiver, six hundred and thirty yards,
receiving four touchdowns. After that's Hollywood Brown, he also has
four touchdowns. But the guy that can really make an
impact outside of Xavier Worthy is Rashi Rice. In four games,
(14:14):
he's got twenty six catches on thirty five targets, two
hundred and fifty three yards and three touchdowns. So when
they get in the red zone, they like to use
Rashi Rice, and they like to be creative in the
red zone as well with different packages. Do we get
a Gardner Minshew package, because they did line up with
Minshew in the backfield with Patrick Mahomes against the Raiders earlier,
(14:36):
did they really? Yeah? I did not notice that.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, I don't know. Do we get a pet alligator
from Carson Steel off the practice squad at all? You know,
the Chiefs were kind of Indiana West there for a while.
Shout out to Drew Tranquil and George carloftis still playing
important rules for them. You know, Kansas City again, it's
you know, sound the alarms. There is a lot when
you look at analytically on both sides the ball, that
(15:01):
it's not as deaf con as it sounds now. Record wise,
I get why we're here. It's very unique. I don't
think the Chiefs have lost more than five games in
a single season with Mahomes under center. I mean, it's
astonishing the Patrick Mahomes stats. At A loss on Sunday
would be the first time in his career he's lost
(15:22):
three straight Ragdlar season games. I was looking at it
earlier today, I believe Sunday will be as one hundred
and twenty third straight start or a one hundred and
twenty third start, I should say, and I want to say,
he's only lost consecutive games five times.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
That's nuts.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
I mean, it's just bleeping insane what he has done
throughout his career.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Colts can keep history the only team he has not
defeated in the regular season.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
And I'm glad you bring that up. So let's look
back at both those meetings. Okay, twenty nineteen we talked
about a little bit earlier. That was the ideal we're
keeping the ball away from you game. Marlon Mack was outstanding.
On Sunday Night football ran for one thirty. The Colts
ran for one to eighty five. I think it was
they had the ball for fifteen minutes more than them.
They got four sacks of Mahomes. Exactly what you would
(16:11):
draw up low scoring game boom. Now twenty twenty was
it twenty twenty two? Yeah, twenty twenty two, the four
wins season. The Chiefs just kind of pissed down their
leg and scoring territory. That was a little bit more
of that game. That wasn't necessarily the Colts playing ball
control or having a great rushing attack. That was Kansas
(16:31):
City had all four of their drives in the second
half reach Colts territory and they got three points out
of it. So, you know, again, two very different ways
to go about those games. Obviously, the Colts, you would
think on paper, would have a blueprint to play a
little ball control if they want that. Yeah, now let's
(16:52):
focus on just kind of Lou and Mahomes here for
a second. If you look back on the history, the Bengals,
of course won three straight games against Cincinnati. Now, I
think at times the Mahomes numbers maybe are a tad
I don't know, underappreciated in those games. Like it's not
(17:15):
like he was absolutely horrific by any means in those games. Now,
he was sacked in the playoff games two of those
seven times. And again I go back to what I
said earlier, it was a lot of seven to eight
man drop from an arumo in those games. So is
that the recipe that you want to dial up given
the nature of your pass rush right now?
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Without Buckner, have you seen the numbers in general for
Patrick versus Lou.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Yeah, I mean it's not I mean, go ahead and
rattle them off.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
He's completing sixty nine percent of his passes averaging two
hundred and forty seven passing yard's game eleven touchdowns, four picks.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
I mean, that's not that bad, you know, like sixty
nine percent, and I know touchdown to interception isn't everything,
but that's not it horrible. It's not like there were
a million turnovers or the percentage was fifty eight or
something like that. And I also think it's worth pointing
out too, those three Bengals wins. Kansas City scored twenty
(18:13):
four to twenty four and thirty one in them. So again,
it's not like this was ten, thirteen, seventeen, twenty Joe
Burrown Company had a score, So you know, Wall obviously
get into the flip side of it here coming up
without Buckner again, how do you manage it? Like when
we've seen the seven and eight man drops Eddie lots
(18:34):
who has been involved with a lot of that, but
Lotswo is your best pass rusher now, so you know,
how do you want to handle that. I also think
Andy Reid was pretty honest earlier in the weekend, Like,
and we've gotten to this debate before Shane stiking with
RPOs right, how many times has the Colts maybe abandoned
the run. I say that in quotes, and Shane has
pointed to the RPOs Well, I mean the numbers at
(18:55):
the line of scrimmage indicated that we should throw it.
Andy Reid said earlier this week, because this conversations come
up and he's like, yeah, I probably should have called
a few more. I think he called it hard runs.
And pa Checko's availability I think could factor into that.
Pachecko for those that you know, everyone's watched The Chief's hell,
they're on every we at this point, we're watching the Chiefs,
(19:18):
you know, poop and go to sleep.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
We watch the chief so much.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Pachecko runs angry, so you know, his production maybe isn't
scary scary, but if there is a commitment to them
wanting to run it a little bit more, No Buckner,
Pachecko's returned again. Just something to keep an eye on
if Kansas City decides to change it up a little
bit here, you know, I think by this point everybody
knows the numbers. They entered the season having won. I
(19:44):
think it was seventeen straight one score games, which is
one of the wilder stats ever in the NFL, and
this year they are zero to five and one score games.
How many times have we said the Chiefs are inevitable?
They always make third and four, they always do. They
always get the critical flag going their way late in
(20:04):
the game, and this year there's not getting it. So
I think lost in the shuffle to Eddie and I
kind of want to flip sides. Here is Daniel Jones
against Steve Spagnolan company, because you know, again when Cincinnati
has beaten them with Anna Rumo, they also scored. Well, okay,
where's the state of the Colts offense right now? That's
(20:25):
a little bit in question exiting the bye week, and
you know Spagnola that dude's going to bring it and
bring it and bring it, and when the game's on
the line, he's really going to bring it. So how
the Colts react to the Kansas City defense, which you know,
I don't think it's a star study group, but you know,
for the most part, these guys, you know, several of
them been there. What does Chris Jones have left in
the tank? Carloftis Nick Bolton, Trip McDuffie's a very good corner.
(20:49):
You know, how do the Colts attack them offensively? The
Colts appear to be in great shape from a health standpoint,
on the offensive side of the ball, that O line
once again continue to be in intact. Shane Syke is
really downplaying the past protection issues here in recent weeks.
So how does that group respond from really, I think
the first dose of adversity they have gotten this year.
(21:13):
You know, I thought it was really well pointed out.
Joli Ericson did this on the We were chatting with
the Colts coordinators on Tuesday, and Joel pointed out how
the Daniel Jones holding out of the ball number has
not gotten longer in the recent weeks. Sometimes when you
see the sack numbers climb, you're holding on the ball
a little bit too long. But Joel mentioned it's actually
(21:36):
pretty similar, if not a little quicker, So bwolve sacks
of two weeks, and yet you're getting rid of the
ball as quick as you normally do, or quicker. That
means the passwords is getting there even faster. So again,
these are all questions that I think are very fair.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Are the blitz numbers up or did the Steelers and
the Falcons just say if it we're.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Going to bring I would I don't know that. But
the handle, I just feel like the edge has just
not the edge. Pass rush against the Colts offensive sackles
has been a thorough domination in the last two games.
That's how I look at it. Watt high Smith, Pierce Walker,
those guys. Now again, Kansas City, I don't think on
(22:16):
paper has that, but Kansas City they will.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Dial it up.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
And so you know, maybe it's more of sheer numbers.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
And that's what makes bag Spagnola is like, he likes
to blitz, and he likes to hide it, and he
likes to come from where you don't expect it.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Jim Bob Cooter called him the blitz Architect earlier this week.
He never lets you be comfortable. Places press and blitzes.
So this gets back into our Daniel Jones conversation that
maybe we had last Thursday. Eddie of go back to
the baseball card analogy with Daniel Jones. The back of
the baseball card walking to Indy said this man wilts
under pressure. I mean pass rush, pressure, blitzing, etcetera, etcetera.
(22:51):
The first eight game said, screw that baseball card. This
is the new one. This is the Colt's uniform one.
Did you get the pikachuu that has the holographic on it.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Cond Pikachu's common holographics. I don't know. Were you a
Pokemon guy?
Speaker 3 (23:05):
No?
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Really, just me maybe in his party?
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Yes, all right, well leave me out on the island
yo yo, oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah. I I
never got into it, but I was probably more intimidated.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Bout you and Babe Blades. That was my thing.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Okay, I got a ounce of intimidation just hearing that
out loud. So what Jones is real? Colts uniform? First
eight games, last two games?
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Is it in the middle? Is it in the middle?
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Are we to the point of the season where everyone's
watched film on them and now there is a little
bit of a blueprint? Now again, the blueprints easier said
than done. You still got to stop number twenty eight,
which good luck. But you know here in the next
month you're going to face three of the top six
scoring defenses.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Could the screen game become more of the something that
they do more to kind of count?
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Yeah, you know, we utralize the pass rush a little bit,
you know again, identifying the hots, finding the hots a
little bit more. Yeah, the screen game, you know again,
do you get in a little bit more of an
RPO and Jones's legs become we still had against Atlanda.
Those more I think scramble related than anything. But I
think those are all questions that you have, So I
think for the most part, Eddy that kind of covers
(24:21):
everything Colts Chiefs related. For me. I believe Xavier Worthy
dealing with an ankle injury, so it'll be something just
to monitor as week moves along. Their left guard got
concussed in the game, so it looks like he'll be out.
And we got Nanson Romo. Are you a Romo guy?
Speaker 2 (24:39):
I don't know. I haven't really watched much Roma in
the last year or two.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Yeah, I don't, Yeah, I haven't. I believe it's the
first time he's called the game since.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
It might be the first Colts game he's had, right.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Well, I think he had Colts Chiefs back on that.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Oh yeah maybe.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
I mean they just might as well get a time
share in Kansas City. I don't know if that would
go for anything in the off season, but I hope
they have the power light district.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Isn't that a thing? You have been to Kansas City? Yeah? Yes,
enjoyed it. It was Okay, I wasn't there long. I
was there for a basketball game. So I was there
for like maybe one, maybe two.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
We'll be just interested with that atmosphere is I think
it's an outstanding atmosphere. I think it's one of the
best in the league. But like, does it get any uneasiness?
Speaker 2 (25:26):
You know?
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Is there any just like, oh, leap, we're not used
to the tailgating like this, but we're not used to
five and five. We're not you know, this is just different.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
To Indiana tizes, by the way, or three Indiana ties
on the defense for Kansas City. George carloftis Purdue. I
went to West Lafayette High School, right, Kevin, I have
that right m And then Drew Tranquil from Fort Wayne?
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Is it Carrol for him?
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Yes? Fort Wayne Carroll. And then Jerry Tillery, yes.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Dame well Notre Dame for Tranquil as well. I loved
him in Notre Dame thought through so many injuries, trink
Will yes, and then Robert Tanya. I believe they're tight
end and being a state product. Shout out to the Trees.
I forgot about to the fighting Bruce Bowenes over there
in entire hate so Robert Tunyan, Yeah, they've had a
few of those all right, you got anything else? Or
should we get into twitter questions?
Speaker 2 (26:19):
We will get into Twitter questions, starting with Craig, what
is the plan for Anthony Richardson next year? It would
be it would seem, given Daniel jones history of health issues,
wouldn't it be prudent to have him as a quality
backup just in case? In addition, he would still be
on a reduced salary. If he plays and plays well,
that would only increase his trade value. If Daniel Jones
(26:42):
continues to perform, it seems like a good value backup quarterback.
But I feel people are already assuming he gets traded
in the off season for a fourth or a fifth.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Well, I guess let's live in a dose of reality
for a second, Craig. How many fourth overall picks are
content being a bad a.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Year four of their NFL career? Yeah? Fair? None? Right, Well,
nobody frankly in the NFL is okay with being a backup.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
I'll tell you what, man, You see how much money
of these backups make? If you call my name two
hundred and forty eighth and I can hold the Microsoft
clipboard and call me a account or call me a
Burssett or call me a whoever sign me up.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yeah, I don't have the dog in me.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
I want to play. I just I just want to
hold the Microsoft surface. Get the little earpiece in there.
Look great, look clean, soft? Yeah, I mean what do
you do? Do you keep them? Well? The contract be Eddie,
doesn't you're you're four millionar? Don't you go up a little?
Speaker 2 (27:41):
I think it's ten million.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Isn't that much? I was gonna guess eight or nine.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Man, And with the upcoming contracts. That's why I feel
like people are also assuming that they'll end up trading
him if they really do like Riley Leonard and believe
he can be a quality or competent quality backup. Then
you trade Richardson for a draft pick, and it helps
save you a little salary so you can retain Alec Pierce,
(28:06):
you can retain Daniel Jones with the addition of Sauce Gardner.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Well, you obviously declined the fifth year option. Yeah, I
I I don't know.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
It's almost eleven ten point eight a lot. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Does it become a distraction at all?
Speaker 2 (28:24):
I just.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
I understand where Craig's coming from.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
I do.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
I think there's still some intrigue or curiosity for the Colts,
of course there is, but like man, it's tough to
keep your backup quarterback on a on a quality.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
College team these days.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Let alone again the fourth overall pick that's been benched
what two three times now, can't stay healthy and all
this stuff. So I still think, you know, late day two,
early day three pick would be my best assumption here.
But you know, I was never one that thought Richard's
was a legit trade guy, even pre I injury, like
(29:02):
here before the deadline. I just I do think the Colts,
you know again, have some curiosity, but at some point.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Enough, Yeah, if they do trade him, it doesn't matter
if it's before June first or after June first, The
numbers don't differ. Five point four million is what they
would save.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
How much him making this year?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
Anthony Richardson is making nine points two?
Speaker 1 (29:26):
So how did it go? Do you have the whope
full rookie deal? What did it start.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
As six point one? Then it went to seven point seven,
nine point two, ten point eight, four years, thirty three
point nine million.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I guess that's the fourth overall pick. You start off
making pretty good money?
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Yeah, interesting, JJ, not JJ Watt. JT's reputation had been
that pass blocking receiving weren't strengths. This year, he's been
terrific with both, especially past catching. What changed Kevin My
thoughts on this is the fact that I always thought
JT was good in the screen game and has a checkdown.
(30:03):
But when you ask him to start like running routes
like Abijon Robinson or Christian McCaffrey, that's where JT gets
in trouble in pass catching. And I feel like we've
seen less of that and more of helping out in
past protection with chipping and just being as the dumpoff guy.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Now it hasn't been perfect perfect. I thought Atlanto was
one of his poor games in protection. To be honest
with you, I continue to go back to what probably
sounds like a boring answer when it comes to Taylor
and why this year is he doing this? And how
historic he's been and the numbers continue to be beyond astonishing.
He's healthy, I mean he is healthy. Like you know,
(30:41):
every day has a scan the practice field looking for
guys that are practicing. There's twenty eight and you know, again,
how many running backs now twelve weeks into a season
have yet to even pop up on the injury report,
and this goes back to the spring. So I just
think having a full commitment, mean, Taylor's always been a
ballue chip worker, blue chip worker. When Wisconsin would have
(31:01):
the road games and he'd run for two hundred, that
dude came back and he'd ice baf it up right
sprinting to you know whatever, downtown Madison for the first party.
So I think there's a full commitment in an offseason
to fine tunes of things and not rehab mm hmm.
And I think that's really helped him there. So again
it's not perfect perfect, but certainly he has taken sub strider.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
By the way, Chris Widlick, I think did a with
CBS four and Fox fifty nine did a one on
one interview with Carly or State Gordon, and I haven't
had a chance to.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Check it out yet.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
I think that comes out on Sunday, But that's something
to be on the lookout for and bring that up
because Neil's question, how much has this new ownership factored
Andrew the Colt success this season?
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah, that's a great question. I mean, I guess it's
just kind of go over everything Carly related I didn't
think Carly was heavily involved prior to her father's passing.
I mean heavily involved with about every meaningful aspect of
the organization is you could imagine, except for maybe a
(32:05):
couple of the whatever the highest rung there. But you know, again,
when you know, when Shane's doing his initial interviews before
he's meeting with Jim Mersay in a Philly hotel room,
it's with Carly and.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Chris Boward and you know, Ed Odds and those people.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
I don't know, if you want to break down the timetable, Eddie,
what Jim Mersey passed in May. Yeah, at that point
of the offseason, to me, you had already made the
biggest moves, and that was Chris Boward changing his approach
philosophically on the defensive side of the ball, and obviously
(32:41):
Shane playing into that with his one on one history
with a Remo. Obviously the Daniel Jones situation, and then
paying Mooney Ward and Payne cam bind him. So I
don't know, maybe the Sauce Garter thing, you know, was
a little Carly jimmen But I I think if Jim
Mersay was alive and the Culture eight too in present
them with the same thing. I think Jim Mercey would
(33:02):
have told Chris Boward to go for it. Yeah, I
mean the only real hesitancy I guess would be are
you skeptical about Daniel Jones at all?
Speaker 2 (33:11):
And do you want those first round picks for them?
But yeah, I go back to that quote from Albert
Brier about you know, do you want to bandate it
or do you want to fix it? Like is that
her way of asking him a question? Or is that
her way of, you know, saying do this? Yeah? I know?
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Can't we all speak to that? Don't We all have
bosses that you kind of walk out of their office
and you're like, wait a minute, were they inferring something
by the tone there?
Speaker 2 (33:39):
And then you just probably sleep over it, probably like
your mom, you know, when you're when when they're you're
about to have company over at the house and she's
like it makes the comment about your room. He goes, yeah,
your room, need to clean up your room? Mom? Well,
why do I need to clean up my room? They're
not coming into my room?
Speaker 1 (33:55):
So true, man, you wage, But yeah, I think I
don't you know again, I think Carly, I think I've
said this from day one. I've always been very impressed
by how she has handled things and approached things. But
I think it might be just would the Colts be
(34:16):
eight and two with Jim Mersey alive?
Speaker 2 (34:21):
That's hard to say. I mean, yeah, I don't know clearly.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
With my massive stutter here, I don't have a great
strong belief of conviction and thinking. Carly ursay is a
four win difference right now for the Colts.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Right three questions left. Evan would like to know. Is
Sauce Gardner already the best corner in Colts franchise history?
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Well, you're the best corner, big play, Ray Eugene, Daniel Fonte,
Davis Fonte, Davis Stefan Gilmour, how do you view that, Eddie?
Do you view it of you have to be playing
at your peak with the Colts uniform on? Or do
you say that universe around the NFL. It's a good question,
like Gilmore, But you want what defensive player of the
(35:05):
year didn't he not?
Speaker 2 (35:06):
He did? Patriots?
Speaker 1 (35:07):
He did, But of course I wasn't in Colts uniform.
Antonio Carmarti you remember him, Yeah, I do, trust me.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
I do. UH saw him in all fourteen of his kids.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Yeah, well, some things you can't remember. Yeah, I'd say
Sauce is certainly up there. Yeah, I mean you are
reminded of him. I mean even today in the locker room,
it's like, damn, that dude is tall. His lockers over
by the receivers. Yeah, I think he got ad Mitchell's locker.
He kind of blends in height wise, you know, with Pierson,
(35:37):
with duel.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
In and with Pittman and are a locker mats uh.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
There are a couple down from each other, a couple
down from each I should have Sauce about a golf
game today. He's just sitting there at his locker. He
probably wouldn't have been.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Of course, you would be worried about that more than anything,
wouldn't you. Sounds like he's obsessed with the game.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
But yeah, he's up. I mean, yeah, one of the
You know, the Colts have some unbelievable position, you know,
in NFL history when you think about it, quarterback and
running back being top the list, especially running back. I
don't know if I'd hold a corner in that same
light necessarily, but yeah, honestly, you know, as one of
the better corners in franchise history, is freaking Kenny Moore.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Yeah, put some respect on his name. Yeah. And as
the kids say, Kevin game respect game.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
By the way, when they say that, I think they
said that fifteen years ago and now you still think
they say that.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
You know they still say but by the way, Uh,
I just saw this on Facebook. Tyree's Halliburton was at
my high.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
School today really to the Hawks of Decatur Central.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Yeah. I don't know if it was today, but uh yeah,
he gifted uh his shoes to the entire boys basketball
team indicator.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Oh wow, that's awesome, Yeah, Tyree, what if it was like, oh,
he was substituting for Missus Jones in English.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
No, apparently he goes to multiple games. Wow, yeah, you
have a you have to dig in that. Yeah, I
gotta figure that out. TW. Joe Banner is talking to
Rich Eisen about the comp for Sauce Gardner. It pretty
much says that when he was the president of the Eagles,
history says that fifty percent of the first round picks
(37:14):
turned into quality starters for two plus years. What do
you think about the narrative the Colts quote overpaid. Tw's
perspective is, as Joe Banner mentions, first are from far
from a lock to hit, especially the ones in the twenties.
Taking a twenty five year old sure thing that's likely
(37:35):
a pro bowler minimum with all pro upside on a
pretty team friendly deal seems like a complete no brainer.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Tew, thank you for the question. Yeah, I think so
much of it just kind of falls into like how
you view roster building, how you view pushing chips into
the middle of the table, how you've you draft picks
and kind of what they can do. Uh, you know,
for your for your franchise here, Uh, Taekwon didn't practice.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
What was ward Ward was full, Carlis was full, pretty
straightforward practice report.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
I guess this the Colts certainly paid a lot. I mean,
there are not many trades you've seen in NFL history,
Eddie that have two first round picks and a whatever
you want to call Mitchell. You know, I don't know
what the equivalent is for Mitchell. Let's call him a
fourth or a fifth rounder. I guess you know you
(38:41):
don't necessarily see a lot of that to first and
a fourth or a fifth for a non quarterback. I
mean that's not common now, granted, you know, moving a
two time All pro on reasonable contract and have that age,
as tw points out, is also not the most common thing.
You know when when people here, when I hear the
phrase sure thing, I think that's where maybe some people
(39:03):
have given pause to this trade nationally, of like corner
is a position that sustaining that greatness can be difficult.
You know, we just went over some of those great
corners and franchise history, you know, Gilmore, I mean remember
like Xavier Rhodes had a good one year, fell off
a clip like corners. You know, Vonte certainly had a
(39:25):
volatile career as well. But again, how do you view it?
Do you view it in a short term view or
long term view? If you view it in a short
term we have a two to three year window, then yeah,
you do this trade ten times out of ten. If
you view it as a name me the AFC quarterbacks
(39:45):
that have represented the conference and the champion in the
Super Bowl over the last twelve years, and Daniel Jones
doesn't belong in that group, then it was an overpay. Yeah,
you know, the whole first round picks, I think it's
more of a It's not that first round picks are
locks to be hits. Obviously, there's not there's plenty of misses.
(40:06):
It's more of what you can do with them. You
can trade up with them, you can trade back with them,
you can trade them for a player you can you know,
they're what contractually they're they're ten years of team control,
you know, with a fifth year team option on each
of them. That I think is the appeal of why
(40:27):
draft picks are so coveted and why there is such
a premium put on them that even though the Colts
look like they could be drafting late first round each
of these next two years, the Jets feel like it
was worth partying with, you know, one of their cornerstone
players who let's say the Jets rebuild for like, at what,
(40:47):
he's twenty five Gardner, Yep, the Colts believe he still
will be a prime player for what, let's.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Just call it the next five years. Wouldn't it be
seven years of team control not ten because they overlap
for four years.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Well, I'm talking to each player I know, so, Like
if they draft Eddie Garrison in twenty six four year
contract plus one year team option, Kevin Bowing in twenty
seven four year team contract, one year team opts.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Yeah, but that's only from twenty six to twenty seven
or twenty six to thirty years.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
What I'm saying, Yeah, I'm adding up both of their
years individually. You have two individual contracts that add up
to ten years.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Oh, sorry that I've been working with Jake Querry too much.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Now, Yeah, I feel like now you've confused me. And
I'm like, wait, are you right? Or did you just
confuse me? And now now it's bothering me. You know,
Chris Boward spoke on this. I don't know if you
caught that Eddie we played on our morning show. He
joined Mike Tice, former NFL coach, and just explained that
basically what pushed the Gardener trade to the finish line
for them was age, contract, premium position. When you add
(41:48):
up all that, that's what kind of pushed them into it.
So you know, if you you know, I think I
laid it out when the trade happened. You got to
play for a Super Bowl, you need to be in
the AFC title this year, and he's got to get
back to being an All pro. That's what that trade sent.
But you know, all pro premium position players that are
(42:08):
that age and have that contract do not grow on trees. No,
I mean, how many times have we discussed a Miles
Garrett trade in the past years? How many times is
and I'm saying his league wide? How many times has
Max Crosby's name been mentioned?
Speaker 2 (42:23):
They get mentioned every year, but they never.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Kind They get mentioned every week and they're still the
same team like you. So again, these guys just do
not grow on trees. And look at the hits at
corner for Ballard in the draft.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Man Garrett's even requested the trade. Then you're like, oh, no, no, no, no,
well we'll play you a forty four million year. Oh yep,
that's good. I'll stay here in Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
I mean, look at Ballard. What three second round corners
he's drafted?
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Is that right? Make two and a half million a game? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Rock? You seen Quincy Wilson, Juju Brents. I think those
are the three. And look and look at their careers.
You know, I probably don't need say any more than that.
And I hated to see get hurt again.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
Man just sucks. Yeah. What was that milescare contract? Now?
I'm curious, what have we got?
Speaker 1 (43:11):
We got one more?
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Yeah, we do have one more. I look up that
gear contract in a second from Isaac, I'm excited about
going into the bye week eighting two. But in the
last two weeks, the Colts have had two turnover on downs,
twelve sacks, four interceptions, eight fumbles, four lost, a missed
field goal short on fifty three yards, a mixed extra point,
a failed two point conversion, and three punts. That is
(43:35):
nearly two dozen momentum shift worthy plays. The Colts offense
has given up the Colt. The football the Colts have
been playing lately has been extremely sloppy. Two thirds of
the turnovers and two thirds of the sacks given up
have come in the last two weeks. Why have they
been so undisciplined? What changed? What needs to change? And
(44:00):
the Colts fix this? Or did they fix it on
their bye week?
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Speaking of the kicking game, Eddie, would you rather have
Michael badgely kicking for you the rest of the season?
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Don't even say it? Or Matt Yeah, give me badgly? Okay?
Speaker 1 (44:24):
Did you not see you're good with missing extra points?
Did you not see Matt Gay in that game?
Speaker 2 (44:30):
The last game? The dude had no answers on how
to kick a football.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
North of fifty yards? Michael Bassy north of fifty yards
doesn't seem like a slam.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
Dunk, justin Tucker Wow. Ten game suspensions over, there's no
legal process anymore.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
Let's keep it a little PG here, my Matt Gay
or Michael Badgley. It's not like it happened with so
you would take Michael Badgley.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Is that because you don't want to call the X
You don't want to be desperate bring her back? I
because both of them missed fifty yard kicks. That's both
of them.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Do that.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
Michael Badgley is more of like strength. Matt Gay, it's
more of inaccuracy. But Matt Gay doesn't miss extra points again.
Just to put the badgely missed extra points into perspective here, Eddie,
you have to go back four years the last time
the Colts had two missed extra points. Michael Badgley's missed
two and five weeks, I mean one more missed extra point.
(45:23):
And aren't you doing the kicker try out thing again?
Are you not three miss extra points for an NFL
kicker in this day and age.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
Probably scary sight.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Yeah, and a lot of outdoor kicking here up coming.
Michael Badgiet looked very good at practice today. By the
way in his kicking. I should throw that in there. Yeah,
you know, Isaac, is there an element of better competition?
You're away from home, our team's starting to figure you out?
Is this just NFL life? It's hard to be historically
good like the Colts were. I do think the edge
protection and then finding answers under pressure that is the
(45:58):
major root of it for me. You know, where are
you in that area? You know, Eddie you mentioned the
screens earlier. I want you kind of finding the hots,
you know, Bernard Ryman and Brad Smith either being better
or you just whatever? Does Tyler Morren need to chip
a little bit more? Does Taylor need to chip a
little bit more? Those are all questions. It's interesting how
the O line questions are more edge related than interior related,
given the youth there. But I think one thing you
(46:21):
come back from the bye week in the what could
be different about the final seven games of this season?
Is your dB unit elite?
Speaker 2 (46:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (46:32):
I mean on paper, yes, yeah, I mean that's the answer. Yes,
you look at it. It is all pro Pro Bowl talent.
I would argue Nit Cross and cam Bynum are both
playing at a very nice high level this season as well,
even if it doesn't end in Pro Bowl or All Pro.
If that unit becomes elite, now that team over on
(46:55):
West fifty six Street could very well be in Santa Clara,
mm hmm. So that I think is the question. You know,
we have a lot of questions right now. Buckner's loss again,
where are they at from an offensive protection standpoint? Turnovers?
Is Daniel Jones a pumpkin? You know all those things?
But dB wise elite with Nico Collins, with Rashid Rice,
(47:20):
with Jackson Smith and Jake but with whatever, Brian Thomas,
you know, some notable white.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
House Ricky Piersoll and Jawan Jennings.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (47:28):
Yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
I feel like if I bank on the forty nine ers,
none of them will be healthy. The forty nine ers
will have ten dues off the streets and they'll somehow come.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
In here and win on Monday Night. Brandon Nyuk if
you know, they ever want to activate him seriously.
Speaker 1 (47:40):
So yeah, I think it's a good one.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
But the whole badging thing for me, keV is that
I was half kidd in, half serious. Look, I watched
Eddie pinierro for the Giants or not the Giants. The
forty nine ers, just missed two extra points over the weekend,
and then he bangs like five different field goals in
that game.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Now is a double whammy with Matt gay It was
just he can't make fifty yarders. Remember last year Matt
Gaye did not miss a single kick inside of fifty,
No field goals, no extra points.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
That's not but that was last year.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
He I think he has year He's only missed one
field goal inside of fifty as a missed extra point
with Washington. So now the question becomes a badly he
was short from north to fifty, right, I'm not one attempt, Yeah,
but he made his prior to right, and then he's
missed the extra points. Now again, some people say, hey,
extra points are worth one who cares? Others would say, well,
missed extra point? How did you playing catchup and Germany?
(48:30):
And you know could have cost you the game.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
So Matt gay was U thirteen of nineteen with Washington. Yeah,
four to nine from north to fifty, so two for
three between thirty and thirty nine, twenty two for twenty two.
I know extra points?
Speaker 1 (48:45):
All right? What do you got, colts chiefs? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
I haven't even really given this game much thought.
Speaker 1 (48:49):
Yet well that makes for great podcast chatter.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Well, you know, I got the pacer struggles. I'm dealing
with Kevin here. Yeah, you do you do.
Speaker 1 (49:01):
In my lifetime. I'm ashamed to admit how many times
I've thought the nail was in the coffin of the chiefs,
and how many times I just I bet against him,
bet against him, bet against him. And they're freaking inevitable.
They're so inevitable, they're like cockroaches. I mean exactly. I mean,
it's Kelsey on third and seven, it's the big DPI,
it's Harrison Bucker bangs one in off the freaking upright.
(49:23):
It just Mahomes is, you know stich And I thought
was so descriptive describing Mahomes today. I just he has
an incredible feel for the game. I thought that was
a really good way to describe it. He's just he's
so damn intelligent, and he's so in his own way,
he's so beautifully athletic, even though at times it looks
at hair quirky. He just has great feel for knowing
(49:46):
where he is in the pocket. Footwork. You know this
arm angle, that arm angle, et cetera, et cetera. And again,
I look at a lot of these one possion games
and I just think, at some point Water finds this level.
So I'm gonna go Chiefs twenty seven to twenty three.
But I am curious, can what if you put them
back into another one possession game, because if you if
(50:07):
you get into the fourth quarter and you go, you know,
back and forth here in these one possession games, at
the first moment of you making that play that could
win the game late, now, all of a sudden, Kansas
City says, here we go again. And even if their
crowds now, of course their crowd's gonna say it, but
what if their sideline starts saying it. Just put them
(50:29):
into those situations, make them be chief perfect and see
what happens Twenty seven to twenty three.
Speaker 2 (50:35):
Though Chiefs, I like the Colts in this one, and
I like it. I like them for a couple of reasons.
The one, I like the fact they're coming off the
bye week, so it's given them a week to prepare.
Number two, I think the run game, both for the
Colts and the Chiefs is going to the Colts. Having
the major advantage in both categories is key here. The
(50:55):
fact that they've got Jonathan Taylor, and I don't know
if that Kansas City run defense is as good as
it is on paper, So I'm going Colts twenty seven
to twenty four, very close on the scores.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
There, he's Eddie Garrison. I'm Kevin Bonen. We'll be back
Monday recapping Colts and Chiefs. Everybody have a great, great week.
