Speaker 1 (00:00):
Dad, dumb it. We are back.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Indeed we are week fifteen of the NFL season, and boy,
flip that hour glass right over. The soap opera continues,
no shortage of entertainment, Eddie. I was talking with one
of the Colts people today and I forget what their
exact motto is, but there's something about like entertaining in there.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Is there not?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's like the I don't know, win inspire entertained. Well,
they certainly are doing the entertaining part of it here.
Philip Rivers chatter on today's podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Were we onto something Monday? Can we get some credit?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
I give you all the credit because I laughed it
off and thought you were, you know, bsing me. It's
a little birdie, just a.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Little birdie that thought maybe maybe Philip Rivers. Now, did
I think he'd be starting six days later after saying
that comment. Yeah, I don't think I even would have
thought that. But I do know that Shane styke and
loves himself some Philip Rivers. And if you watch today's
Prescote Offense, you got a highly energized Shane Stacking, to
say the least. So we're gonna break it all down
(01:04):
for you one of the best teams in the NFL,
one of the best defenses in the NFL waits on Sunday.
Quite the impression, I guess for Philip Rivers, because right
now I think he's starting. Eddie, let's just not beat
around the bush. I think he's legitimately starting on Sunday.
I mean, unless he trips and falls in practice and
you know, can't breathe after, you know whatever couple series,
(01:25):
which I don't know, maybe those are legit questions, but yeah,
I think the plan is for him to be the
starting quarterback Sunday or twenty five, eighteen hundred days after
he lasts through a pass in Buffalo in the COVID game.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
How you doing, I'm doing fine.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
It's that time of the year where you know, you
feel like you get those head colds with the weather
fluctuation and all that. So working through that. How about
you kids? Good, Maddie good, were good man.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I mean, obviously, this this storyline is dominated things here,
So yeah, that's gonna been the big thing of the week.
So we'll focus on and then get some Twitter questions
and call it a day.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
But Eddie, let's start with the news of the week.
And that is what.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
If I told you on August first, Philip Rivers would
start more games this season than Anthony Richardson.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I'd probably laugh.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
I can respect a man taking a break from the
house of ten kids in it.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I guess nine, right, one of them.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Well, I guess maybe there's a couple letter out of
the house now, but noneth least year's Philip Rivers. I
guess let's just go a timeframe. Basically, Shane Styken watches
Sunday Unfold and Daniel Jones goes down, and Philip Rivers
admitted today that he thought when Daniels Jones went down,
he thought to himself, oh boy, I wonder if Shane's
gonna call. So sure enough, a few hours later, Shane
(02:45):
calls the Riley Leonard knee injury appears to be at
some play in this. But I'm gonna be honest with you,
Eddie Riley Leonard, and well, we usually give you the
practice report at some point during this podcast.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
He practiced today.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
He said before practice he expected no limitation with his
knee injury. A practice I bet the data would back
this up. I would say, starting quarterbacks, which again on
the depth chart right now, Ryley Leonard is your starting
quarterback because Daniel Jones is on IR and so is
Anthony Richardson. By the way, Anthony Richdon doing a little
bit more out of practice today, just some mimicking drops
(03:19):
and everything. He's wearing some of those like it was
a theel Ratliff for those Rex specs. He's wearing some
some specs. So who knows if he'll ever practice this season,
But nonetheless good to see him in good spirits doing
a few things. But right now, right Leonard is your
starting quarterback. I would be willing to guess ninety nine
(03:39):
times out of one hundred if you're starting quarterback practice
is on a Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
He starts that Sunday.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
So it is interesting that I sit here and say
to you, I think Philip Rivers is starting, because that
kind of goes against, you know, the the common theme
in the NFL. I mean, how many how many times
that he do we see quarterbacks miss a wins day
and still practice or still play that Sunday a Thursday
and still play on that Sunday. Now, granted, this would
(04:07):
be Ryley Leonard's first ever start on the road, and
of course the knee injury is the knee injury. So yeah, again,
I think he's going to start. I was certainly struck
by and respected a bit of the dad bod look
from Philip Rivers. I think on the one du Jared
(04:30):
Lorenzen scale, I think Philip, I gotta tell you that
about a week ago.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Don't tell Maddie. I ate a full medium Donado's pizza
in one sitting. And I might have had a breadsticker too.
That's only like six pieces full medium. Yeah, it's only
like six pieces. Say what, man?
Speaker 2 (04:50):
It was tough to leave the couch for a few
hours after that, and I got the I got some
of those vibes.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Wait, so where was Maddy looking at? Looking at Philip Rivers.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I had to get back from Thanksgiving for the Colts
game that that that Sunday drove in just horrific weather.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Back by myself.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Maddy wanted to say other family to have help with
the kids while I was working the Colts on that
on that Sunday, So I wanted to reward myself after
I got home.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
So I got a Denato's pizza and.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I ate all But so we'll see what Philip Rivers
looks like. He had a great comment when asked about
his weight and his playing weight, and he said he
might be a little north of what he left the
field in Buffalo at But in true Philip Rivers fashion,
he's like, it ain't like I ever ran away from anybody.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yep. But in all seriousness, hope. But I'm curious about that.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
I'm curious about the velocity, you know, all of those
things coming up on Sunday. I assume Brett Rippon will
have some dressing role on Sunday now that he's on
the fifty three man roster. I don't know if that's
as emergency or as the backup. But again, I'll go
back to what I said earlier. I do not recall
Shane Stikeen as energized in a Wednesday press conference as
(05:57):
I as I saw him today, right. I think he
is all in on the Rivers aura, the juice he brings.
I think he looks at his football team right now,
having lost four or five. You're desperate at quarterback and
here comes You know. Rivers is part Hall of Famer,
part fictional fictional character. You know the motion, how he talks,
(06:24):
the trash talking, Yeah, I mean all of it. I
mean he is he is a fictional character when it
comes to that. As Jay Querry's delivering us in presence
here in studio, thank you very much for that.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
You know, that's that's part of who Rivers is.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
And obviously it's too football obsessed individuals that I think
just they believe, can we chest match our way to
advantageous situations on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
That's how they're doing this chess match it.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
As Philip Rivers said, very accurate today, we got to
run the stinking football and you're gonna play defense. But basically,
can you avoid disaster and throw the ball to Tyler
Warren thirty seven times? Probably don't throw the ball at
Alec Pierce very much down the field and go there.
I think that's what they are thinking, hoping, praying.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Again.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I don't have any other good ideas, you know, when
you start naming the quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
And getting into that.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I mean, there's just you know, the Sam Ellnger rumor
of Off Denver's practice squad.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
It's just I guess Brett Rippon.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
I mean that, I mean, would you rather watch Philip
Rivers play quarterback or watch Brett Rippon play quarterback?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Or banged up?
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Rather?
Speaker 1 (07:36):
And again, how banged up? Is he right?
Speaker 2 (07:38):
So that's kind of where we're at, you know, watching
Rivers of practice day. I've never thought he's been a
big velocity guy, like even at it in his prime.
He just throws with unbelievable anticipation. That's what I think
what makes up for and touch. I think that's what
makes up for maybe the lack of velocity. So I
wasn't you know, overwhelmed or you know, struck by how
(08:00):
he threw it. It's just impossible to predict what he
looks like in the indoor facility to what he's gonna
look like fifty degrees in rain and seattle against that defense.
I mean, can you imagine them filming at the mouth?
I mean, they can build up. This is insulting that
literally a grampa thinks he can play against Yeah, seriously,
(08:21):
And the only thing I think could be in the
Colt's favor is they go stat hunting. You know, all
these guys think, hey, I'm gonna get my sacks, I'm
gonna get my interceptions, and all of a sudden they're
not in the right gap or two and Rivers is able.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
To make them pay. Right.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
I can't believe I'm saying this out loud, like Philip
Rivers is gonna play on something.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
But That's where I'm at. So I think that covers everything.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I mean, obviously there's some other news items that I
want to get to, Eddie, but I'll leave it open
to you just your overall thoughts on.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I'm still speechless, like I can't believe it, a it's happening,
and be there's a realistic shot that he is under
center taking his snap, calling the plays on Sunday like
this dude was well, I don't know if he was
still coaching or not down there in Alabama or what
he was doing if he was just you know, sitting
on his couch. But man, I also have to go
(09:14):
back and remember keV that Kyle Shaney and said two
years ago that had San Francisco won the NFC Championship
game against Philly, when they lost Brock Purty, they lost
Josh Johnson, they had to turn to emergency quarterback Christian McCaffrey,
that Philip Rivers is going to be their quarterback for
the Super Bowl. So and and I kind of knew
(09:36):
that he was, you know, to me someone and ship,
but still that was two years ago, and then I
think didn't he go on Dan Patrick show earlier this
year or something and was asked about if he could
still play. He goes, well, probably maybe one game, but
you know, not for an extended period of time.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
I think he actually brought up his weight with Dan Patrick.
And again, you know the Colts, so I think you
know had interest in him in twenty twenty one. And
you know, call it desperate, call it entertaining, call it frightening,
call it genius, whatever you want to call it. It might
be all those things. Well okay, I guess it can't
be all of them, but it might be probably the
(10:13):
first couple that I named. But you know, it's not
like you can tank properly. It's not like you have
this young guy necessarily waiting the wings. I mean, yes,
Leonard would be that I guess, l could be legendary,
could be sad as hell. But if you look at
the playoffs right now, Eddie, like, there are scenarios where
if you win two of your four games, you're in
(10:34):
and think about that out loud yep, Like in a vacuum.
If I said to you win two of four NFL games,
you would sit here and say, well, that is doable.
Now again, once you see the schedule, once you see
the quarterback situation, the doability of it becomes a little
bit more of a daunting task. But I mean that
is that, as wild as it sounds, the team that
(10:56):
Philip Rivers retired with in July is the team that
you need to lose that That Monday night game was
brutal for the Colts. The Eagles blowing that against the Chargers.
That was a big result there not in favor. So yeah,
I just Philip Rivers ain't getting on you know, the
Airsay family jet to hold the Microsoft surface and you
(11:16):
know questions I would have again, is the ball humbing
enough in the fifty degree ran New Weather against a
real defense? Movement wise, I get he's played on a
torn acl but rookie right tackle in all likelihood? And
where's his cardio? You know, how is he feeling in
the fourth quarter after playing?
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Can you lead a two minute drives? The sure? I
mean you say in all seriousness.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
I would hope that you're saying that in all seriousness
because I am and in the Seahawks again having a
lot of touchdown the last two weeks, but they believe
Chess match.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
You know, we had Jack Doyle. Do you think you
can get that on the podcast? By the way, Eddie,
I can to in here toss that in here.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
We had Jack Doyle on our morning show on Wednesday,
and you know he brought up and I guess you'll
hear it here in a few minutes. Some of I
think the intellect insight chess match advantage that Philip Rivers
provided in twenty twenty, and Jack points out, like again,
can you go up tempo and again up tempo? I
(12:15):
get that Rivers might be a little out of breath,
but you know it's just one of the bottle huddle things.
You know, keep the Seahawks in the same personnel. You know,
Rivers can take us forty seconds on the play. We
know that man loves to burn the play clock down
and get it all the way to zero. You know,
could you try to attack them in that manner? But
you know Jack points to that Buffalo game late in
the year where the wild Card game where on the
(12:37):
two point conversion, you know it was Philip Rivers, you know,
making a play there. Preparation wise, because again you aren't
getting off script on Sunday, you know, you're not getting
the Riley Leonard to Alec Pier's third down conversion when
he was out there, and boy, you feel for Alec
Pearce right right, But man, this is it is, It's
(13:00):
truly amazing. I'm glad that're in the four o'clock window.
I'm gladther of Monday night next week. It is a
little surprising me that Riley Leonard is practicing today though,
and he's in my opinion, he's not going to play Sunday,
and we'll obviously see how practice plays out. But again,
you don't move your practice schedule. They all of a
sudden practice today in paths. I mean, I can't tell
you last time under Styk and they've done that in
(13:21):
the month of December, right. They're doing that to get
Philip Rivers ready.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Are you sure they're not also doing that at the
same time to get right of the Leonard potentially ready?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Boy, every sign I've seen in the last twenty four
hours tells me it is phil Rivers.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
But it's also the same point, like I do, right,
Riley Leonard's taking much snaps with the starters all year correct,
So I mean I get these guys are gonna the vibes.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
I get his first team attention is going to Philip Rivers.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Over well, Yeah, especially with the energy that Ssyching had
today talking about Philip.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Which there is part of me that can hear stiching
out on that the Colts are reeling.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Eddie, You've lost four of five. You are hurt.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
They are not only a sinking ship in the standings,
but all of a sudden, Mooneywards uninjured reserve Sauce Gardner
still isn't back to practice again. Braden Smith's situation. Jmurious
Ward goes on, ir right, we'll see about a Forest Buckner.
He did practice today. There's a little bit of optimism there.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Obviously. Daniel Jones just ripped his achilles.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
So and you're what a two touchdown under dog on
Sunday playing one of the best teams in the league.
So I can understand the Jews, and I don't compare
this as ye have Saturday.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
I just don't.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
I think, you know, maybe we'll all save some thoughts
for Twitter questions, but I don't think it's apples to apples.
I think you are in a dire situation. You know,
Jack and I talked about it on the Morning Show.
You know, Ryan Linley and Josh Freeman. Is the last
time I remember it looking like this? And you know
it's probably also is it semantics we're arguing? Are we
(14:54):
really arguing stat lines that are fourteen for twenty nine
with one pick in one hundred and forty seven yards
versus sixteen of thirty four and two picks?
Speaker 5 (15:04):
Like?
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Is that what we're arguing here? Whether it's a Brett
Repin or Philip Rivers, part of me thinks that I
got no barn Rivers unless you got anything else.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
I have nothing else.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
You've already talked about how good Seattle is defensively, especially
They are one of the best, if not the best,
overall defensive unit in the NFL. Mike McDonald is their
head coach. They are quarterbacked Behy, Sam Darnold, Jackson Smith,
and Jigba is right up there with Jonathan Taylor for
the offensive player of the year. He leads the league
(15:35):
in receiving yards. He has been unstoppable for most of
this season. They have a platoon system with their running
backs between Kenneth Walker the third and Zach Charboney. Charbonay
primarily is their short yardage guy and the guy they
go to when they get inside the ten. Between the
tens and the twenties, it's Kenneth Walker, who is very
(15:55):
explosive as a runner and as a pass catcher out
of the backfield. Outside of that, their offense doesn't bring.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
A whole lot.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
They added Rashid Shaheed. He hasn't really been much of
a factor. He didn't have a solid game last week
for Seattle, and he's a big part of their return game.
Josh Myers has been one of the best kickers in
the NFL, so special teams advantage Seattle as well.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
You know, one of the things that really stands out
to me about the Seahawks, Eddie, is they are thirty
first in committed turnovers in giveaways, they are thirty first
in the NFL, and yet they have ten wins.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
And I get Darnold to the.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
One game where through a ton of picks, but like,
their turnover number is awful, and yet here they are
with ten wins, competing for the one seed in the
NFC West, maybe the best division of football probably you know,
Jackson Smith and jiggas where I'm gonna start, And let's
talk about Mooney Ward here for a second. If you
don't mind. We need to get a little bit more
into that. Speaking purely as Mooney ward human, just thoughts, prayers,
(16:59):
all of it take time, man. I mean, you know,
three concussion in three months. I don't think I've seen
it in fifteen years covering the Colts. I don't know.
I guess I covered that first. Maybe Austin Collie year.
Maybe it was, but you'd have to go back that far.
(17:20):
So as you look at Mooney's situation, unfortunately, has he
played his last game in the NFL? Like?
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Is that a discussion point?
Speaker 4 (17:29):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
We probably should have just saved it for the off season.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
But as far as Sunday is concerned, the best white
out in the league by far this year from a
yardage standpoint, and there's no in all likelihood, no Sauce
Gardner and no Mooney.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
So what do you got?
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Jalen Jones, Makai Blackman Jones, you know, and you and
I both had he wanted to see him play, and
he obviously had some struggles on Sunday. So you know,
lou An Rooum I thought was pretty honest on Tuesday,
probably the most he's been all season. I think, just
too many explosive plays, not winning enough one all one
in pass rush. I'm nodding my head internally at all
that stuff. And now how do you defend I think
(18:06):
a really interesting white out group Smith and jigbut speaks
to herself. Cooper Cup I think can still Keenan allen
it up. And then Rashika Heat as you pointed out,
that is a great home run hitter that they just added. Hell,
you had a huge play last week against the Falcons
on special team, so you know they've got a little
pop to them. Offensively, their old line has been really
good this season, and the defensively again no touchdowns in
(18:29):
the last eight quarters. They're good against the run, good
against the pass, super balanced, the Ernest Jones a great,
great year, tons of talent in the secondary, length galore,
Fike McDonald and Shane stikeen very close. And the coaching
circles here, so I'm sure these two have talked about
this matchup here for a while. But yeah, Seattle's good, Man,
(18:50):
Seattle's good, and they've been in a great division out there,
so that probably covers everything Seahawks related. If you look
at the AFC South this week, Eddie, it's double digit
spreads everywhere. The Colts are double digit underdog, the Jags
are double digit favorite or nearly i should say against
the Jets, if not over that, and the Texans and
(19:12):
the similar boat against the Cardinals. So on paper, this
looks like potentially a nail being hammered big time into
the Colts coffin for divisional chances. But the beauty of
the NFL is we'll play football on Thursday and Sunday
and Monday, and we'll see how it all plays out.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Yeah, I will say this. With their defense, I don't
Ernest Jones is their primary guy in terms of their
leading tackler. But the primary reason why this defense for
Seattle has been able to take off to another level
this year with Mike McDonald is because of Nick emm
and Wary their safety.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Yeah, they line him bafty, linebacker free everywhere.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Yeah, hand injury last week's I'll see where he's at.
But you know, yeah, he's been a great Obviously, Devin
Witherspoon was taking what the pick after Anthony and Richardson.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Leonard Williams has had a bit of a resurgence there.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
So yeah, they got a lot a lot of defensive talents,
So for all the weeks of the schedule to be
walking in there with potentially a forty four year old
quarterback who hasn't played in the NFL in five years. Yeah,
this is quite the boy. It'd be a hell of
a story. Can you imagine if they won? Imagine like
it's gonna be I know it's gonna be entertaining. It
(20:30):
might be really really freaking sad. But if it isn't
and they win, it's one of the wilder individuals sport
game stories ever. Yeah, ever period, not true in our
little bubble ever.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
And I think there's a little bit of like.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Shane Stecken's kind of like playing into that which I
know is a dangerous game to play, Like Colleen Bowen
wants this to happen, if that makes sense. Like Colleen
Bowen's not thinking from the football sense of it. She's
purely thinking from the oh what a cool story. She
might be thinking a little bit from the wife side
of it, like, oh boy, I don't know if that's
gonna go well, but from the cool story it's there.
(21:10):
It's more of just the shit, hope he doesn't get killed,
like so.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Uh, anything else you should we get to Jack Lough.
Let's get to Jack Doyle.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
The man who last caught a touchdown in a two
point conversion The octopus right by Jack Doyle against Buffalo
in that wild card game in twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Here is Jack on Philip Rivers.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
Tight in Jack Doyle getting not only a touchdown but
the two point conversion from Philip Rivers. That was Was
that the last time that Philip Rivers threw a touchdown
for the Indianapolis Colts Markers. That's just the one we found.
I know I might be asking for too much there,
but either way, those guys hooked up a few times
for touchdowns and Kevin did a nice job lining this
up finding Jack Doyle, who's joining us now on the
(21:51):
Payless Liquors hotline this morning. Does that bring any memories
back for you? You ready to come back and play and
maybe back up Tyler Warren?
Speaker 1 (21:58):
We ready to go.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
Yeah. I don't know about all that, but that definitely
brings back some good memories. And you know it also
brings back man, I wish we would have won that
freaking playoff game in Buffalo is what it makes me think.
But but no, that was fun and obviously getting that
year with Philip was it was.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
It was a was a blast, Jack that that two
point conversion was a hell of a catch.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Yeah. I just went back and watched it.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yeah, No, that was a that was a Philip play,
you know, and it was a you know, we were
in I think we were in twelve personnel. I think
it was me and Trey out there, and Phil knew
how to get you know, the sub guy went unguarded
Trey and then you know he kind of got doubled
in the middle, so we knew I'd be opening the
back and again that was that's a credit to what
(22:42):
Philip could draw up man and he kind of saw
that on film and we knew that was a two
point play going into the game.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Well, as Jeff said, we appreciate the time here. Jack
Doyle with us on the Payloff Stickers Hotline. We traded
a few texts yesterday. Your response, football is life for
mister Rivers. Could you touch on the football side during
COVID year that you got to witness with Philip Rivers.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
Yeah, you know, that was a shout out to the
ted Laso fans and Danny rohauston football his life. That's
what I think about when I think of Philip. You know,
you know, the thing that comes to mind with Philip
is just he's such a unique character. And I say
that in the best way possible. And this guy is
just a football junkie and it's football the time, and
you know, he was such a great teammate in his mind.
(23:26):
You know, That's what I couldn't get over, just how
he just would get us in the right play over
and over and that's run and pass, and you know,
you could we would be sitting in a meeting and
you know, say we're preparing for the Steelers or something,
and there you know, heavy sasas pressure, and Philip would
be like, oh yeah, you know talking to Nick Siriana
nick Gianni who was off in square of time. Oh
(23:47):
I remember we we had this with the Chargers in fourteen.
I think it was like, you know, our second drive
of the third quarter. Can you go look up that
play and show it to the guys, And it'd be
like right on point. He knew exactly what play it was,
what would the pressure was, and how they kind of
attacked it, and it's just a It just shows how
his brain kind of works and how he's wired.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Jack.
Speaker 6 (24:08):
Thanks again, for joining the show. James Boyd. Here, I'm
going to ask the hard hitting questions on this show.
So with Philip Rivers and him knowing notoriously not to curse,
is he the best trash talker who doesn't say any
bad words.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yes, he's the best trash talker period that I ever
played with. Okay, I mean he does not stop, and
it's all in fun, and he's just the ultimate competitor
and he gets under guy's skin which is hilarious. And
he's just such a great teammate.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
You know.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
That's you know, not knowing anything about him, and he
you know, he when he showed up in twenty twenty,
and you know, I'm you know, I'm thinking that my
memory of Philip Rivers is like, man, I didn't like
this guy. You know, I was a Colts fan growing up,
and you know, he knocked the Colts out of the
playoffs there and in the two thousands or whatever, I
can't remember the years, but you know, and he was
always talking trash to the fans. I'm like, man, I
(25:01):
don't like this guy that he came in and he
just carries himself in a way that like all he
wanted to do was be a good teammate, get to
know his get to know the other players, and just
be one of the guys. And I just have so
much respect for him.
Speaker 6 (25:14):
I need Philip Rivers micd up immediately, like from the
time he lands in Indianapolis to get ready for practice today.
But one more and more serious note, when you look
at his career, the man is accomplished darn near everything
in the NFL, say for the Super Bowl win, but
counting stats, longevity, respect from peers, all of that. So
when you factor in perhaps the respect that he still
(25:37):
has in that locker room, how much do you think
that helps? Because you know, unlike someone who normally we
stepping into these disposition, he still knows I would say,
what ten starters for the Colts right now, or at
least about seven or eight. So do you think that'll
help just him ease back into things when it comes
to trying to restart his NFL career.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Yeah, for sure. I mean, I mean, the cults are
real on a little little bit over this past month,
and I wish I was in the Wednesday Offensive meeting
that's coming up, you know, probably here in the next
hour or so, and and just the energy that Phillip's
going to bring to that room is something that's unmatched.
And and I can imagine being up there and you know,
who knows what's going to happen, but him going through
(26:19):
you know the you know, the his cadence and and
how his kind of tone is with his cadence, and
and and all kinds of different things. He just he's
going to bring an energy to that group and and
and hopefully kind of wake us up over there on
West fifty sixth Street.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
What what do you think this offense with him under center,
coming out of a five year retirement, what's it going
to look like? Realistically? Tell us what those first two
series are going to be.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
Well, he'll have no like, the plays will be the same.
He'll have no problem you know, knowing the play calls.
He can show up there and and and call any
play that they're running right now. You know, maybe the
checks and things like that, you know, they'll have to
kind of, you know, figure out because maybe Daniel had
things a certain way or you know, stuff from his
(27:06):
past that they've kind of emulated in their offense. But
he'll he'll know what he's doing. He'll and he'll be
able to communicate with the guys. You know, if I
had to guess, I could see them going some sort
of up tempo and just kind of trying to keep
it simple and you know, him getting you in the
right play and maybe that takes the crowd out of
it a little bit and he's able to communicate and
(27:28):
just getting guys up to the line and just figuring
out the you know, the best play for the Colts
to be in.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Are the Seahawks just going to throw the kitchen sink
a him from a blitz pack?
Speaker 4 (27:36):
In his perspective, yes, I mean that's what I would do.
And you know they're gonna have to prove, you know,
and the Colts kind of got to prove that anyways
they get they got to gash somebody with with with
all the pressure they're seeing, you know, in the run
or pass game, it doesn't really matter. But the thing
about Phil is like, like like I was mentioning earlier,
he's seen every blitz and you know he'll Phil there
(27:59):
was times when he call out the defensive guy for saying,
you know, you know, telling the linebacker he's supposed to
be bossed over a little more because they're about to
bring this SaaS pressure or whatever it is, like, hey,
you're miss aligned. Your coach is gonna yell at you
like you're supposed to be. He just is. He's so unique.
The way his brain works is just awesome. I mean,
late in that twenty year I feel like a lot
(28:20):
of my catches were on checks that he made at
the line for just from seeing, you know, different things.
We'd be in a run call and he sees a
pressure coming and he get us in a in a
quick pass or something like that to kind of take
advantage of it. So they're just again, his brain is
just so unique in the way it's wired. And if
anybody can do this, I mean, it's it's freaking Philip Rivers.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
That's Jack Doyle Jack Oil podcast over in the Colts
Audio Network's been a great listen all year long with
Jack and Matt Taylor, and Jack's with us here on
the Payloss Slickers hotline. Jack, I don't remember. I think
it's been a trend a little bit more here in
recent years league wide, the Colts have definitely started it.
Did did Frank do you walk through Wednesdays late in
(29:02):
seasons very often with you guys?
Speaker 4 (29:05):
You know, I thinking back we were doing walkthrough. I
feel like we were doing them on Thursdays. I don't
know if that's right. I might be completely wrong.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Practice walk through Thursday walk through.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
Yeah, and given guys a day in the middle of
it was kind of our schedule. But yeah, I think
I think especially when they added the extra game, I
think that's probably when it became more prevalent around the league.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Yeah, and I bring that up. The Colts have done
the walk through Wednesday last two weeks since the signing
of Philip Rivers yesterday, they now have changed their practice schedule.
They'll go all three days starting today, Thursday and Friday.
Last one from me, and it's just more of a
reminiscing story the Josh Freeman Ryan Linley week for you guys.
This is I would say this is probably the most
(29:52):
dire in season weekly quarterback situation I can recall for
the Colts since that week. I forget which season was fifteen, sixteen,
something like that. What do you remember about that week
in which you guys literally had to get two quarterbacks
ready to play?
Speaker 4 (30:10):
Yeah, I think it was the last game of twenty fifteen.
And yeah, we went in with I remember Clyde going
up there and kind of going through, you know, the game,
playing with the quarterbacks, and Josh Freeman did all the
you know, bass stuff right, and he was running the offense.
And then Ryan Limley came in on two minute drill
(30:31):
and then that's how they kind of prepared him both
and they both were successful. I think Ryan Limley. I
don't know if we went down and got a touchdown,
but there was a two minute drill in that game
where I know we went down and got points. So yeah,
it worked out well. But you know, the thing that
I remember most is, you know, it was late in
the year and you know, obviously we had you know,
(30:51):
we had lost Andrew and then I think we had
lost and then Matt got hurt down in Miami the
game before, and you know, you kind of walk in
there with you know, your head's kind of hanging low,
and then you kind of walking back up by this
you know, new point and and and everyone's kind of
rejuvenized and and and you go out there and just
play football and see what happens. So hopefully, you know,
(31:12):
Philip can have that kind of effect on the on
the locker room coming in today.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Last thing I gotta know jacket. Honestly, after you heard
about this last night, you and any of your former
teammates have any kind of a text chain going on
about can you believe this?
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Or anything like that.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
Yeah, you know, I was texted with Moe ali Cox
yesterday and I was just like, Mo, you could write
a book on your story as a Colts player. I mean,
all the stuff that's kind of you know, you know
going on with you know, obviously Andrew's retirement, and you know,
Jeff's Saturday coming in to coach, and then now this.
I mean, he's just he's he's been through it in
(31:49):
his career. But man, it's gonna be a heck again.
I I have no reason to doubt Philip Rivers. I
know there's people saying, you know, some people are laughing
at this, calling it crazy, all that fun stuff. But
Philip's got to prove to me that he can't do it,
because you know, I won't doubt that man for one second.
Speaker 5 (32:09):
Good stuff, Jack, Thanks for joining us. We appreciate that
you're teaching high school right now.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Right middle school, middle school. I'm off today though, just
Monday Fridays sounds good.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Enjoy it. We'll talk to you soon. Thanks Jack. Thanks again.
That was our fan morning show on Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I always appreciate Jack Doyle and a day off from
his teaching over there at Saint Pias to provide some
insights with us, Eddie, lest you got anything else, We've
got Twitter questions, we got a game to pick.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
We have a lot of Twitter questions to get too.
We will start with Luke. The signing of Philip Rivers
is entertaining in a vacuum, and I'll never fault fellow
fans for getting excited. I'm hopeful he does well too.
By big picture, this feels like the latest in what
has become a pattern of erratic and a logical moves
for the Colts, as well as a far cry from
(32:59):
the sound this is making and consistency of a successful organization.
Is this just the last gasp to save the season
and jobs or is this the new blueprint for the
way the Colts will do business? While this and Jeff
Saturday are amusing, it's getting kind of hard to take
this organization seriously.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Yeah, Luke, thank you for the question. To me, Eddie,
embarrassing is potentially an eleventh straight year of not winning
the AFC South, one of the longest playoff routes in
the NFL one of the what thirty plus year one
(33:43):
of the longest droughts your franchisees had playoff wise in
over thirty years.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Like that, to me is more of the embarrassment level,
like this is. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Maybe I'm just numb to some of the organizational decisions
that we've had, but I don't necessarily group this in that.
I mean, you are down to if you want to
call Ridley Leonard hurt, which I guess is a little
bit up in the air right now. You are down
to your fourth string quarterback. You know, It's what Cleveland
(34:14):
a few years ago with Flacco. I mean, that type
of situation and when you get into week fifteen. And
this is part of the reason why I said what
I said on Monday about rivers of Like, I mean,
it is potentially possible that you could make a call
like that, and it would make sense for you to
make that call and for him to possibly start on Sunday,
as crazy as that sounds. So again, I just to me,
(34:37):
it's not at the levels of other.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Sorts of.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Sorts of embarrassment. So that's why I would I would
probably view it. I think this organization has had enough
just general failures from a lack of January success, and
this collapse would qualify as that. I mean, if you
if you literally paused the game when Daniel Jones got
(35:03):
hurt on Sunday, Eddie, you know, the culture out of
the playoffs, like literally yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
At that point.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
So you know, I don't think it's fair to look
at the end of the season just say, well, if
Daniel Jones doesn't get hurt, the cult to make the playoffs, well,
I mean technically they were out of it at that point,
and given the schedule, did you have any faith that
was going to turn around? And we'll see, you know,
crazy things can happen. Can Jonathan Taylor creased a couple?
And it's a rain game and the ball bounces your
(35:31):
way a couple of times?
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Who knows?
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Cole and Jamie ask you similar questions, so they are
looped together. The answer may change with injury to Riley Leonard,
But could he be the twenty twenty two version of
Daniel Jones lots of running with some timely passing sprinkled in.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
You know, I've touched on Leonard a lot, you know,
Eddie since he was drafted, and just to reiterate everything,
bless you for the one hundred and eighty ninth pick
in the draft. Riley Leonard was a great pick by
the Colts. He has a lot of traits you want
in a quarterback. He's got leadership, he's got toughness, he
(36:10):
can make plays with his legs, he's got good size,
a lot of experience. Sure, I mean, you know what
he did with Duke and Notre Dame.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
What did he do?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
He elevated both of those situations. That to me is
super attractive. So why the hell did he drop till
one eighty nine? Because he can't operate from the pocket, so.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
That and also unfortunately he was banged up a lot
in college.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
And again he's tough, he plays through so much of it.
But you know, you can't ignore any of that. So stylistically,
you know, I was intrigued and I guess maybe I
still am, depending on where the knee is at, about
a Riley Leonard offense in an actual game, like with
with with a week of prep, you know, could you
make it look very collegey with that? I think that
(36:57):
would be something to really really keep an eye. By
the way, hit me when old Phil Rivers was talking today.
His second career start in college in Bloomington, Indiana, yep.
Forty one to thirty eight. He throws for four hundred
yards five touchdowns out duels. I don't think it was
(37:18):
much of a duel, but he Antoine Randa Well, the
opposing quarterback. NC State then beat Indiana that next year
as well in Raleigh, the position coach for Philip Rivers.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
In the year two thousand. That's a great question. I
don't know. I was two years old.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Curtis Signetti, what is his real name, Curtis, I have
no idea.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
My Signetti reaction was we had him on one time
and I tried to make a Hitch analogy. Try to
ask him if I was going to compare him to
Will Smith and Hitch with the IU football program, and
he responded with I've never seen the movie. So yeah,
That's when I realized, Kevin, you're not a good radio host.
You need to stick to what you know. Yeah, how
about that Philip Rivers Zignetti ask him. It's all full
(38:08):
full circle. Yeah, I'm gona ask him next week. Yeah,
A million questions this week.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Craig is next. Is that your Franklin playing that bad?
Or are my eyes lying to me? One to ten
odds in your opinion he gets cut this offseason.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Well, I think anybody from a guaranteed money standpoint, particularly
if there's change, you know, anything is on the table.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
If there's thirty two Mike linebackers in the league, where
would you rank Zire Franklin.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
I'd probably rank him like I don't know, a.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Little above average. I mean, you know, think about linebacker.
It's kind of similar to corner and away. I mean
they're around the ball so much you do notice their
mistakes a lot or their mistackles a lot. Again, I
think he's a fine player, little above average player. But
(38:55):
as far as cutting him, I mean, Eddie, what's the future.
I think Jalen Carli's played two defensive snaps last week.
It's not like Jermaine Pratt is very young at all.
You know, one thing I was thinking about with this
injury situation, because I think this week is probably the
most banged up the Colts have been all season. They
have had unbelievable good health on offense this year until now,
(39:20):
and when you think about it, Daniel Jones takes every
meaningful snap. Jonathan Taylor has not even been on the
injury report this year. They're wide outs. What Downs missed
a game?
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Is that right?
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Pierce missed two one, I mean Downs and Pierce combined
and miss like two three games. Obviously, Pittman has been healthy,
Tyler Warren's been healthy, all the tight ends have been healthy.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
And their offensive line.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
I mean we're looking at potentially just the third starting
group all year. You've had the same starting five for
what eleven of the games Dalton Tucker started for Gonsolve
is that.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
One game in LA against the.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Rams and then potentially Jalen Travis on Sunday. So the
offense has really been healthy, healthy Obviously. Now it's starting.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
To add up to him here.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
But yeah, I think zi yeah, I mean yeah, I
think he's fine. Yeah, And honestly probably because he talks,
you know, leaves you as a kind of a low
hanging fruit to go after him.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
And he's not quiet either. No no no, no no like
he yeah, yeah, I mean he wants to talk. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Brett hey KB as the glutton for punishment that I am.
I asked chat GFT to summarize the past ten years
of being an Indianapolis Colts fan. We should use more
chet GPT on this pod.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Somehow, that sounds a little dangerous for me.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
It brought up a lot of horrible memories for me,
but it got me thinking, aside from angel lex retirement,
which is far and away the worst, what other moment
of the past decade would you say was the most awful?
This weekend ranked top three for me, along with the
Josh McDaniels fiasco and the Jeff Saturday experience.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
I's tucking somebody over there today and they were like this,
this isn't even in the top five craziest things over
the last ten years. I'm like, yeah, you're probably right.
I think the damaging aspect of this past weekend, Eddie,
is that potentially takes two years off the board, you know,
the rest of this season, and then we'll see about
next year. You know, I'll go back to Carson Wentz
(41:28):
the end of the twenty one season. I mean, you
had you had a playoff birth just sitting on a platter,
and just look like Kevin in the office fumbling that
chili just.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
How about the Vikings game with Jeff Saturday blowing that
lead worst, right, the worst one NFL history. Yeah, biggest
blue lead in NFL history. And just the weirdness of
it not really anybody's fault. I mean, I know people
like to, you know, blame people for things, but like
the Anthony Richardson Mooney Ward thing and warm up, it's
just wild.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
Just just strictly on the wild meter. But yeah, this is.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
You know, the NFL I think has a lot of
wild to it. I think it's maybe the professional sports
league that has the most of it. And I know
we're in our little Colt's bubble, but damn it feels like, yeah,
it feels like they got a lot.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Of it, and it's all been post manning, right, post manning. Yeah,
some might say post luck retirement.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
But yeah, yeah. Two questions left. Isaac did the first
two months locking Chris Ballard and Shane Stikeen for another year,
or if this collapse continues, are they done? Is it
possible only Ballard and stich In are fired. We've seen
that this roster has tons of talent, but Ballard has
been here longer. Also, if Ballard did stay, do we
(42:52):
really trust him to conduct a head coaching search again,
he brought in Frank Reich and Shane Stike in, both
of which have suffered the same problem and as previously
noted in the last question, Kevin from Brett, you've.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
Got to remember the Josh McDaniels fiasco as well.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
So I was thinking about Josh McDaniels this week. You
know why, why is that Leslie Fraser is on the
Seahawks staff. And if memory serves me correct, when McDaniels
left the Colts at the altar, Chris Ballard pivoted to
three head coaching candidates Leslie Fraser, Frank Reich and do.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
You remember the third.
Speaker 4 (43:32):
Was? Oh?
Speaker 1 (43:32):
Was it Dan Campbell? Daniel Campbell?
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Didn't we get a question about culture the other day?
Do you think man Campbell would have instituted a bit
of the sea word into this building?
Speaker 1 (43:45):
Oh? Yeah, here, Yeah, it's funny.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
I was asking Stephen Holden, we had him on this morning, like,
do the final four games of the season, potentially a
quarterback by Philip Rivers? Should that decide the fate of
Chris Bowden Shansdyke. I mean, doesn't that sound ludicrous? Can
you imagine saying that a few weeks ago? Now a
(44:11):
few days ago now and again should it. This is
the convo we've had, Eddie, when people ask these sorts
of questions for Ballard, how much do.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
You view eight years versus this year? Right?
Speaker 2 (44:28):
For Stiking, you know, his sample size is only three years,
so it'd be two years versus this one. And as
I've said before, if you individually graded these two, they
would be.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
A little different for me. You know, if you look
at it, you.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
Know, Stiking with Richardson and Minshew and Flacco and Daniel Jones,
is what four games three games above five hundred as
a head coach. Not bad, not great, not awful. Ballard,
whatever the record is, I don't even know what it
(45:03):
is at this point. Obviously we know no division titles
and two playoff appearances and one playoff penn et cetera,
et cetera.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
So I don't know, Isaac.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
I mean the trade said everyone is coming back, the
sauce card and trade, right, I mean that's what it's said, Yeah,
everyone's coming back. And I can't get that out of
my brain now to go back the embarrassment and meter,
I believe the stat I've seen thrown out there. I
don't know for sure, but if the Cultsword have missed
the playoffs, it'd be the biggest collapse since the twenty
twelve Bears, I believe. So you know, do you just
(45:33):
add one more layer of it, a thirteen year level
collapse in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
We had a listener send this in earlier Eddie.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
I think his name was Sean, but he basically was
like he's speaking like purely from the fan heard. He's like,
at the end of the day, what I went out
of my teams is for them not to make life
harder for me and not to embarrass me, right, And
he's like, the Colts have done the exact opposite for
a decade mm hm. And you hear the tone of
(46:07):
the questions and you know, we just had the previous question.
I guess you hear that from Sean and it's jarring,
but it's like, damn, I mean, there hasn't been a
lots on the other side of it. And look, I
get professional sports are a bit chaotic, and you know
there's drama with.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
It, etcetera, etcetera.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
But usually you know, you can have some of that
winning sprinkled in and there just hasn't been as much
of it. So I guess to answer your question, Isaac,
I don't think these final four games should matter because
it's it seems like such an.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Outlier to it all. Yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
If you're asking me what I think the Colts are
gonna do, I got I guess sitting here right now,
I would I would guess they're all back, just based
off of that trade really not necessarily to do with
like hardcore substance, like have you taken all of a
sudden these massive in the right direction as a franchise.
I don't necessarily feel that unfortunate. I think the Daniel
Jones injury situation does matter in that m hm, you know,
(47:07):
if he's gonna be hindered or hampered or not playing
in twenty twenty six, that element of it I don't think, unfortunately,
can be ignored. And you know, do I think this
year has been horrific for Ballad and Stiking by any means? No, No,
I don't. I think it's totally unfair. I think there's
been a lot of positive elements to it, but there
is a little part of it of like does that
(47:28):
all of a sudden mean everyone holds hands and you
running back in twenty twenty six Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
Last question is from John, without looking at the first
nine games in just the past four what positives can
you find from this team currently? Alec Pierce has been
exceptional and I feel like Grover Stewart as well. What
other players or position groups right now gives you optimism
for the long term? Remember these last four weeks only
(47:55):
thanks and John says he never misses a pod.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
Ah, John, thank you greatly appreciate that past four weeks.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Eddie. I still think Ala Peers, I think Alla Pierre
has been the best player on the football team is year.
What is that unfair? Better than twenty eight?
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Wait, it's just really tapered off of the run game. Well,
it goes back to the the play calling aspect of
this because.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
I can really only the city game. Well, but hasn't
been north to twenty carries each the last two weeks.
Speaker 3 (48:29):
Yeah, but it doesn't feel like he's been getting those
early game carries, Like you don't get him involved early enough.
Speaker 1 (48:36):
Yeah, I have to go back and crunching numbers. I
don't know, I'm probably giving Piers too much credit. And
how you say it all, I.
Speaker 2 (48:41):
Think cam Biden has been a definite hit. Yep, great,
signing by Ballard playmaker. I think special teams, non kicker
divisions largely been pretty good. Yeah, obviously badly had his
struggles there, but yeah, last four weeks, I mean, hell,
they've lost three of the four games.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
It's hard to you know, rip out a bunch of
multi week positives. I mean, how's the old line been
an issue lately? I don't think they have.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
Well, I think you have to blame them for some
of the lack of run game, right, I mean, Jonathan
Taylor is getting the ball jonthn Taylor got twenty one
times last week, twenty one times the week before. Okay,
And if you look at the last five games, Eddie,
these are his yards per carry Taylor last five games,
(49:31):
three point two loss, seven point six win, three point
six loss, four point zero loss, three point five loss.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
When he runs it well, they win. Do you put
that on Taylor or do you put that on the quarterback?
Speaker 3 (49:42):
Because we've heard what you know, the Houston players have
said it prior to the first meeting. You've heard other
teams say it, like, hey, we got to stop twenty
eight because that's how you beat them, Like take twenty
eight out of the game, forced Daniel Jones to be
the guy.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
Yeah, I mean I think it's yeah, I certainly hear
you out and all encompassing and the offensive line.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
I think it's had some issues.
Speaker 2 (50:02):
And yes, it's clear that teams have decided this is
the blueprint on the Colts. So that's where we're at.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
What do you got? What is a spread? Thirteen and
a half? Is that real? I would have to look.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
I think it opened at three and a half and
then Daniel Jones got hurt and I believe it jumped
to ten and since then it's gone all the way
up to thirteen.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
Maybe north of that it is thirteen and a half.
Colt's going for their first win in the United States
and a month and a half, right, yeah, October twenty
sixth Your last one here is Seattle count or Seattle
part of Canada, Russia? What so far away? I've been
(50:48):
to Seattle.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
I love Seattle, great place, but it just takes forever
to get there. Plane ride that will never end.
Speaker 1 (50:54):
Well, that's all. You have to get a layover in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
That's not great, but that's a long travel day in
more ways than one thirty one thirteen Seahawks. There is
part of me that says they have the Rams on
Thursday next week? Do they overthink it? Do they go
stat hunting? Are they so aggressive that Jonathan Taylor is
able to hit a crease or two? And is this
somehow a game? And the weather I think those are
(51:19):
the things you have to bank on for your Colts fan.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
But I overcast high of fifty seven.
Speaker 2 (51:25):
Is there rain in the forecast early in the morning? Okay, Well,
I think rain would favor the Colts. I think coltsnee
all the elements at their advantage. So thirty one thirteen
though Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (51:38):
Yeah, I was gonna go thirty four to seventeen. Yeah,
you and I on the same page. Unfortunately. Yeah, it's
it's worth watching. Ain't that the truth? And we'll see.
We'll see how Philip Rivers track's practice this week.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
Rather than his knee. But right now I would say
it will be number seven. Yes, Daniel Jones is Jersey
number to Philip Rivers because he's on IR There you go,
He's Eddi Garrison, I'm Kevin Bow and everybody. Have a great,
great week Colts Corner with Kevin Bow and sign it off.
