We all make mistakes. But we can rest in God’s grace and sovereignty, knowing that He is always working for our good.
Before making big decisions, the prudent think ahead, give careful thought to long-term implications, and seek wise counsel.
To discern is to make a distinction between the voice of Jesus and those competing voices that invariably speak in our hearts and minds.
We often want a detailed blueprint, but God gives us a path. His will is not just about where we go but who we become.
Before we can discern God’s will, we need a heart that can delight in God’s will.
April 13 – The Power of Surrender | Rica | Baptism Sunday
Scripture: Mark 11:1-11
Big Idea: Jesus’ triumphal entry was a paradox of power—He ruled not with force but by surrendering His life for the sake of others. Servant leadership means sacrificing for the good of those we serve.
True greatness comes through humility. Jesus, the King of Kings, washed His disciples’ feet, redefining leadership as serving others with love and humility.
Jesus didn’t lead alone—He empowered His followers to be part of His mission. Servant leadership involves calling others into the work, believing in their potential, and multiplying impact through collaboration.
Servant leaders cannot pour out without first being filled. Jesus modeled the power of withdrawing for prayer and solitude, showing us that staying connected to God fuels our ability to lead and serve.
Knowing who you are and why you’re here is the foundation of servant leadership. Jesus led out of the security of His identity as God’s beloved Son and His calling to bring good news to the world.

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
