Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Ready for a break?
Speaker 5 (00:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (00:22):
And so much for that.

We are tired, but it is our job today to
break down what you saw last night. That was an
impressive win by your Dallas Cowboys on the road in
(01:08):
Las Vegas. They win thirty three to sixteen in what was,
in my opinion, the most well rounded game that they've
played all season, and certainly from the standpoint of what
we've seen this year from the defense, it is the
first game for me where I felt like there was
hope defensively for this team. I'll start there with you guys,
(01:28):
give me your story of the game. What do you
think was the story of the game last night?
Speaker 4 (01:33):
I'm sorry, let me tell you what the biggest story was.
Matt Eberflus listens to the break.
Speaker 6 (01:40):
Ain't that something?
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Are you gonna give Matt some love today?
Speaker 9 (01:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:43):
Okay, I just want to cameras give him some love today.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
But you asked what the damn story level? Matt ebra
Flus listened to the break.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
There.
Speaker 6 (01:52):
Now, me and you.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Know, me and Brian don't have a clairvoyant bone in
our body. We don't know what they're gonna do before
they go out there and do it. Is like I
gave them people a list. I gave them people a list. Derek,
I say, hey, man, can we rotate these people a
little less? And you ain't gotta overthink the interior guys,
they all go in up with the same Just play them,
you know what I'm saying. Play play your new linebackers.
(02:15):
They both played played more than what's that? And throw
your young DB's out there. You can stop the run
with list and you could dedicate another character like Marquis
Bell who's normally done, but now you get a pick
because he's just back there, just back there, kicking it right.
And I say, damn man, Flues watches the break. Let
me give a shout out the Flues for being a
good listener, man, being one of our lord Yo, Flues
(02:36):
say something in the chat. If you listening, Man, do
us all the fact Flu, I'm so proud. Let me
tell you my glance. I'll try to be like Flup.
We so proud of your dog. We so proud of you.
You wouldn't you wouldn't being cute. It wasn't strange, It
wasn't weird. At no point that I look at Flues
and say, man, what is Flu's doing? I know it's
some people in the chat right now going but Vog,
(02:57):
it's just the Raiders. But just the Arnolds did it,
and just the Giants did it, and you know the
Bears ain't losing games now, I don't know, and just
the Panthers. Everybody do it to you. Everybody do it
to you. And for the first time in a long time,
the other team didn't do it to you. I think
that's worth talking about. I ain't gonna take all the
(03:19):
talking point because I know Anbury got some fire over this.
I know Brian got some fire. But I'm just so grateful.
Speaker 10 (03:29):
So this lies. I only slept like two hours. I'm
just flying. We're here, happening.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
I'm just incredibly proud Offluse and what he was able
to do.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
And if you do that ten more times, man, we
own the sun.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Go ahead.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
Oh okay, am I trying to go to sleep?
Speaker 11 (03:46):
Man?
Speaker 9 (03:48):
No, I mean I told myself I'm gonna stay positive
because you you have to enjoy what you were able
to see yesterday, regardless of the Raiders having really bad
quarterback and regardless of who the opponent was the fact,
and just like you mentioned, Vach, we've seen them go
up against other teams that are not really good teams either,
(04:11):
and they haven't been able to really have a performance
like this.
Speaker 10 (04:14):
You saw some chick. Sorry, I saw some change.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
Say change, and then he go, don't hit up in
the middle.
Speaker 10 (04:29):
Okay, let me get through it. Let me get through.
Speaker 9 (04:32):
We saw some change and some really positive things with
the new additions and the players that came back and
joined the defense. We had been talking about it all week,
and I think and I don't want to get too
far ahead because we know that up next are the
Eagles and then the Chiefs, and we know what's coming.
Speaker 10 (04:50):
But for now, I think this.
Speaker 9 (04:52):
Is a pivotal pivot, right pivot, pivotal moment for UH,
the defensive coordinator, because now, right now is a moment
where Matt Eberflus can really change his path where it
was headed to where now if we truly continue to
see this become a constant thing, he can potentially stay here,
(05:16):
not that he wasn't, but extend his career here with
the Cowboys beyond the.
Speaker 10 (05:21):
End of the season.
Speaker 9 (05:22):
So I think this is kind of a reset, a restart,
and a new time to rewrite history here for the
defensive side of the ball, where there can be hope
not only for the season because the season is not
over yet.
Speaker 10 (05:38):
For the Cowboys, but also for next year as well.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
Fantastic point. Fantastic point.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yeah, I was waiting for me to acknowledge.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
That I just don't want to talk to me, Chaddy
trip mcgla.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
No, the UH. I'll tell you what. Some of the
things that I personally was worried about was how they
were going to handle blocking Max Crosby, and when you
dive into the film, you see exactly the plan now
the Max Crosby, the sack, the fumble. You know, give
(06:13):
the Raiders some credit for this on that particular play,
the way that the safety played in the middle of
the field and they were going to try and throw
the deep over to Lamb and Dak thought better of it.
And you know, maybe there was a time where Dak
would have thrown that ball and then you know, then
you would have had an interception right there. So you know,
Dak pulled the ball, he tried to get out of
the pocket. It was a kind of a loop stunt
(06:33):
that they did to Max. You know, just effort player.
That's just the kind of guy he is. Smith was
in a bad position to block him, so you know,
they just that's what happened. But that's really the one time,
as really the one time seven different Cowboys blocked him
in that game yesterday. There's a time where I felt
like previous regimes would not have thought it that far out.
(06:57):
They would have tried to hit him with a guard
and have tried to hit him with the tide, and
they tried to bring Turpin all the way across to
block him one time, just to kind of get in
his way, you know, So tip of the cap to
they didn't let Max Crosby other than that one play,
and it was really a good hustle play on his
part and good coverage on their back end that college
(07:18):
to get that fumble and get that sack. But overall, though,
I got to give them credit for the way that
they attacked this Raider defense. There were a lot of holes,
a lot of things that they went after. The receivers
were outstanding, they ran the football well. The quarterback played
very very well in this game, but they did a
great job of blocking that one particular guy that could
(07:39):
have killed him in this football game.
Speaker 8 (07:40):
Yeah, you know, actually that play set off what I
thought was a series of plays that was the story
of the game for me, because when you look at
that moment in the game, it was still early. Obviously
nothing was decided at that point. But Crosby creates the fumble,
gives them the ball on the Dallas fifteen and thought is, oh, gosh, okay,
(08:01):
that's seven because that's what we've seen all seasons. Yeah,
you got fifteen yard, they're gonna get seven right here.
And what happens, Kenny Clark gets the sack, set the
back seven yards and now they're at the twenty two
and then they have a receiver that because and I
think there was a little bit of pressure on that play,
but the ball was a little bit off target. The
defender was in the way, so he had to kind
of throw it behind the receiver. But they couldn't complete
(08:24):
that pass in the end zone, end up forcing him
to make a thirty five yard field goal.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
That was Logan Wilson on the coverage with yeah exactly, yea, yep, yeah,
and so and that to me, that series was what
that game was.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Pressure.
Speaker 8 (08:38):
It was even when they were in good situations, the
defense stood up, like they let him drive down the
field several times on drives and they get down about
the thirty yard line and then it was just like
the breaks came on and it wasn't just that they
were making mistakes, it was at the defense was forcing mistakes.
We saw a number of pass defenses last night. We
saw a number and this is a team that we've
(08:58):
been talking about all year. They hadn't been getting their
hands on balls, and defenders, particularly secondarre having to getting
their hands on balls like we saw last night a
defense that was totally different than what we've seen all season.
And that's why I really could care less about anybody
who's saying this is about the Raiders, because I just say,
did you see the Cardinals?
Speaker 2 (09:19):
And there have been really bad.
Speaker 8 (09:21):
In my opinion, bad offenses, bad quarterbacks that the Cowboys
have made look really really good. And there were opportunities
last night when the Raiders could have looked really really good.
They were in positions like that when they were at
the Cowboy fifteen where Dallas still holds them to a
field goal. So I just think that that last night
you have to take that. You certainly don't know what
that means about the next three games. What you do
(09:43):
know is last night was different, and it was better.
It was something we haven't seen from this defense all season.
And it's what we've been saying all year. If you
can just get a defense that's average, you working with something,
and last night you got a little more than average
from that defense. And that's where it gets really for
this TV, I mean, for this team going down the stretch.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
There's gonna be a lot of think pieces in Cowboy
Nation this week talking about edge pressure, versus interior pressure.
You know, it's just gonna be a lot of people
giving their thoughts about it. And I tell you what,
I was born in ninety two, so I wasn't around
all this long, you know what I mean. But seeing
interior pressure like that made me sit back in my
chair and go like, is this what new ball is?
Speaker 6 (10:24):
You know what I mean? Like, is this the way
that we.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Think about the best teams in the NFL?
Speaker 6 (10:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:30):
They all they all get busy in the middle. Me
and Me and Brian were at camp and Solomon Thomas
was your first one tech out there. He was just
starting one tech. I was like, damn man, Solomon don't
really fit right there. He was cool, but he don't
fit right there. And I just had this idea that
he would get worn down because that's not his natural spot. Yeah,
Kenny Clark gets here in real life. One tech ain't
(10:51):
his natural spot neither. If you watch a whole bunch
of Green Bay film over the years, he's a three
or four, I five and he'll play zero sometimes from one,
but mostly he's a He's a three guy. So when
there was this buzz around Cowboy Nation that Kenny was
kind of getting worn down a little bit because he's
taking the most double teams he's ever taken.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
In his life. Derrick giggleson, boy, you you put Quinn.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Williams in there, It's all changed.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
I was excited. I was excited to see the defense
run back. Let me go, good by, good eight dollars,
let me go find number ninety two, and Quinn Williams
would get pushed in the middle. I don't even think
the Raiders had a great plan for him, because there
were sometimes they would end up double teaming somebody else
on accident. Let Quinn Williams get a one on one
ass whooping, and then they'll go in double quinnin and
(11:40):
Clark looks ridiculous. Now yeah, and they are also getting
busy now and your edge guys are doing exactly what
I said, because Flues watched the break, exactly what you
thought the Edges were gonna do. And it's like everybody's
in their natural place.
Speaker 6 (11:51):
Now.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
You remember a couple of weeks ago was talking about
the Broncos and I was jealous that every part of
their defense played off of each other, and that the
Cowboys d felt like a collection of guys. Man, we
got some three texts playing at Brian bro We got
some fives playing.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
Bet you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
It felt like and Quinn Williams could be the piece
to it and he was whooping feet by himself. It
just feels like everybody was in a natural place now
and we'll see Flues did a fantastic flew them looking eye. Man,
you did a fantastic job of bringing an extra body.
Sometimes it was a linebacker, sometimes it was a down
line and sometimes but it wasn't about just blitzing let's
(12:30):
say Marque's bell like Donvin Wilson. It was about making
it five versus five which offensive line. So now you
can't double Quinn or you can't double Kenny Clark, you
just win. And now you just win your one on
one battles on the option side. Not even about the
guy that's you know, blitzing. I'm like, man, where did
Flues learn how to play chess like that?
Speaker 6 (12:49):
And it worked out for.
Speaker 8 (12:50):
Well, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna take a
break and when we come back. I got a question
for you, got a question for y'all. I got a
question I want to ask you. Does this what we
saw last night. Does it vindicate Flus in some ways
to where maybe this was less about him and scheme
and all that. Does this vindicate Flus a little bit?
And maybe Flush just didn't have players and now he's
(13:13):
got some players, and maybe that's the difference. We'll talk
about that when we come back this Dallas Cowboys Icon Radio, I.
Speaker 2 (13:18):

Man. She talked crazy that half fight. Man, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Man.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
You know what that means?
Speaker 10 (16:30):
It is?
Speaker 6 (16:31):
We met. We met.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Do you remember the name of the folks we met?
Last night?
Speaker 8 (16:34):
We met some some listeners to the Break. They were like,
we love the Break went on sideline and.
Speaker 6 (16:40):
To shut up.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
No, No, were like like we love, we love all.

Hey, I'm like, this is taking on the hold.
Speaker 8 (16:48):
I'm trying to give y'all gifts and y'all acting like
where's my gifts?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Like that ain't right.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
Nothing about that would just behoove you to just give
away to TV.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Okay, I need to put on my to do list.
Speaker 10 (16:59):
It's not even on the to do I phoned in.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Man, I'm trusting them to do what they gotta do.
I just need to. I just need to hit them
up and be like.
Speaker 9 (17:09):
They all showed up yes today. Last night there was
a huge crowd. That stadium gets crazy loud, like it's
so loud.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Now it helps the week.
Speaker 8 (17:17):
We can actually here because in most stadiums, just so
everybody knows, most stadiums, there's glass in the press box.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
You can't really chop it route.
Speaker 8 (17:24):
This is an open air stadium, and so you actually
and it definitely was. You couldn't really It felt like
a you know, like a I don't know, Texas O
you kind of game where you know, you couldn't really
tell by the roar of the crowd what was happening
because it was pretty much, you know a lot of.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Fun lambs or pickings TV run. You could tell there
were a lot of cowboys fans because you could hear
it building as he was running.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Yeah, you know, one of that might have been me.
I was like, whoa, hey, it was crazy. It was crazy,
all right.
Speaker 9 (17:52):
Before vatch takes over, I just wanted to point something out.
Looking at the stats and the.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
Second Break is brought to you by blockchain dot Com.
Speaker 16 (18:02):
Thank you for doing your job, Famous Sleep.
Speaker 9 (18:15):
He was real quick just looking at the stats, the
defensive stats, and we've been talking about all these guys.
A lot of these obviously don't have record breaking stats
or anything.
Speaker 10 (18:28):
Some of these are just.
Speaker 9 (18:29):
One tackle, but Still, it felt so good to see
a lot of the guys that we kept talking about
wanting to see them come back get on the field,
like Revel for example, to get at least something to
you know, in their first game over shown get something.
We talked about Wilson, we talked about Williams, quinnin Williams
(18:50):
and what he did there. So it's exciting, even though
it was little little tastes, but to get you ready
for what's coming up next. But it's they all to me,
they all looked in really good for him, Kaylen Carson
with some of the jobs he did. I granted, I
think there were some bad quarterback throws there, but uh yeah,
(19:11):
it's all right.
Speaker 6 (19:12):
It worked out for his Revel.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
Revel seems like he knows this defense really well already,
and that could be him sitting down for a while
and just kind of studying, or you know, he played
a bunch of matching college or whatever. But there was
a there was a handful of times where the Raiders
tried to do a little do a little shemy wommy there, and.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
He kind of saw it like that.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
He he didn yimminy shamy women. He didn't he didn't
fall for the for the bait. He didn't take the cheese,
so to speak. He didn't he didn't take the cheese,
so to speak. So and revel so far in his
nineteen something plays, Brian haven't any play he had. He
had some pretty good awareness for what they was trying
to do. Or I've seen other Cowboy corners.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
Eat the cheese.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna get back to that. I'm
gonna get back to that. We can actually gonn go
through some of the players, all the players that were
either new or returning, and I want to give you guys,
give you guys an opportunity to talk about what you saw.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
But before we get to that, though, I do want
to ask the question now.
Speaker 8 (20:02):
That we teed up before the break Eberflus last night,
we saw something very different from this defense. And my
question for you guys was what we saw more in
relation to Flus doing different things or was it more
in relation to Flues finally got some players. He's got
(20:24):
a beast up front. Like you said, you got your
one technique that makes everybody.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
We saw it.
Speaker 8 (20:29):
Everybody on the defensive line was better instantly by having
Quinn Williams out there. Is this more a reflection on
the of the fact that the defensive coordinator finally had
the players in the right place, which is not necessarily
his fault. Does this vindicate him what we saw last night?
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Man, you know, Flu's we're gonna we're gonna go ahead
and celebrate you for another ten or so hours and
near we're gonna move on to the.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
You're gonna start killing them again.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
And man, I need I need to see that ten
more times play and then we'll have a conversation, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 10 (20:59):
But Flus, Yeah, you're asking that question a little too soon.
Speaker 6 (21:02):
It's all right, I'm getting Flus.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
You go ahead, Man, go ahead all the time.
Speaker 10 (21:11):
Relax, you do that all the time. Proceed about to start.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
QUI yeah, man, you know Quinn Quinn definitely helps. Quinnin
definitely helps. But I think it was a lot more
going on with this scheme. I think it was putting
guys in places where they weren't, where they had no
business being. I think that we that the Cowboys rotated
a bunch of guys. I think a lot of guys
got in the game and some attempt to keep everybody fresh.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
But I think that you.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Know, Votch gave you, gave you a good little list,
flues cousin, Voch gave you a list, man, And I
just think we just need to come together and be
like the best dudes, gotta play no hard feelings.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
I sided the Kyrie Eler Man, and you know I
want him to.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Take this the best way possible. Wheezy Bridges, I want
you to take this the best way possible.
Speaker 14 (21:53):
Man.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
But the group of DBS that was out there without
the respect, the group of DBS that was out there yesterday,
it's just a better group.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
That is what it is.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Look at an active list. That's all you need to know.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Kenna Murray play played less reps than Logan and overshown
no disrespect to Kenan Murray man, it just kind of
is what And he might have had his best game,
might have had his best game. Maybe less is more
with him. Dante Fowler played.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Eleven Yeah snaps not.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Even on Teams's eleven for Dante Fowler. Wow that you
that you pay some bread too, but it is not
crazy bread. But it ain't crazy bread. But you know
we gave you this to come back.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
T you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (22:25):
R James played last last night. Yeah, and he's been
a guy that the last couple of weeks has got
you know, well over fifty snaps a game. Yeah, you're
you're you now have better players, And I mean that
is no disrespect to the players. But when you start
to talk about you know, Maristle, if I hadn't played
a whole lot, I feel bad for him. But he's
a special teams guy. That's kind of what he is.
(22:46):
The mont Clark. You don't need the moon Clark anymore,
you really don't. You don't need Bridges anymore. You know,
you can move on from Elam. There's guys that you
now can like, you know, you feel like that. And
we'll see what happens against Philadelphia. But for nine weeks,
ten weeks, you saw others play and it wasn't good enough.
Now was it Fluc's fault as well? Sure you got
(23:08):
to adapt, you got to Yeah, you got to adapt.
But what do they do? You know, what did they
do in the game yesterday? You know, with the way
that they were able to play more zone coverage, they've
been playing a lot of man, they were bringing a
lot more blitz as you saw with with overshown blitz
and you saw guys attack in the pocket and they
knew that the Raiders couldn't protect they do and Dallas
(23:31):
did a great job of shutting down the run too.
So you know, a lot of it has to do
with these players. Like you say, better players make better coaches.
It works every time that way.
Speaker 9 (23:41):
I think it's I mean, yes, absolutely agree with everything
you guys said. Your better talent wise, you have better
talent on the defensive side of the ball. But also,
like I said earlier, I think it's a little too soon.
We got to watch what happens next week and the
week following it after that. But at the same time,
(24:02):
I think also and they paid a big tribute to
Marshall Neelan in that game. I think the defense was
so fired up and it was a very emotional game
leading up to it.
Speaker 10 (24:16):
We talked about it on here.
Speaker 9 (24:17):
But also just seeing the way that they honored him
and how present he was in that game for them.
They brought out his jersey, set it right behind the
bench for the defensive side, right there on the sideline.
So I think with that, it just they were playing
with the different energy last night, is what I'm trying
to say. Is that energy going to carry over? We'll see,
(24:40):
but I think all it all. It just they had
so many different things that they were able to overcome
together as a family, as a united group, and it
was exciting. But sometimes you know, can the energy stay
there or not?
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Yeah? And you know, and I think you're absolutely right
about the energy in what you're playing for Ambar but
they're playing for their season. They've now turned into the
desperate team theory. Every week now they can't afford a loss.
And if you go out there and play half ass
and you get beat by Arizona, you go out, you know,
you go out and you play not to the level.
(25:17):
And they did that. They did that plenty up until
last night. Yes, they've got guys back. Yes it looks
a lot different, but they are basically playing for it.
There's a reason why George Pickens is trying to score
on every single play when he has the ball in
his hands. You know, there's slam and others. Hunter Lipke
just go down the list while they're trying to block
one guy with seven different people. They're to the point
(25:40):
in time now there's no more, there's no more looking back.
It's now all got to be forward. They handle this
tragedy with a lot of class. I think the NFL,
the Cowboys, everybody. The way they've honored the young man,
I think is super impressive. Play hard for his memory.
But their football lives. And I say this football lives
just because of the profession now, not making it more
(26:02):
big than it is. It's a game, but their football lives.
Their jobs are now on the line every week. They
cannot ford to stumble against anybody. And so if you
don't see the energy, then we'll be talking about the
draft next week. You see the energy, they're capable of
winning against anybody in the league.
Speaker 8 (26:20):
But I really do look at this and I think
when you look at how this game played out, this
game was very similar offensively to what we've seen all season.
They got off to a slow start, and what could
have happened was what would have happened in a lot
of other weeks this year. Yeah, exactly, because you got
the Cowboys went punt fumble field goal, that was their
first three possessions, right, and the Raiders went punt field
(26:43):
goal field goal.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
In most games of season, those two field goals would
have been touchdown.
Speaker 8 (26:48):
You're fourteen to three now going into the second quarter,
and that's where it changes everything. Now your offense has
to figure it out, like they don't have the benefit
of kind of easing into it and then finding their footing.
And then once they find their footing, oh not just
keep killing, just keep hitting them, right. I think that's
the difference is that this defense held. I keep calling
(27:08):
Oakland held Las Vegas to situations where they just weren't
able to get into the end zone. And that just
hasn't been the case this season, is what we've been saying.
If you get a defense that just played pretty good,
that can just give you some stops in the middle
of the game, give your offense an opportunity to get going.
This offense is hard to deal with if you give
them a chance to get going.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
And it's kind of my issue with flucing this way
and Flues.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
We're gonna celebrate you by seven more hours, man, We're
gonna go right back to our regular.
Speaker 6 (27:34):
Schedule program sir.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
But I kind of want the defensive coordinator to be
a guy that can take players that maybe aren't the
most talented and figure out a way to kind of
get it done so that then when you do get
players you become a fantastic type defense. You know, I
just I just think about some of the teams in
the conferences, you know, just around the league, like San
Francisco have had all kinds of adversity with Mac Jones
(27:57):
on the football on the other side, and they still
find a way on you know what I'm saying, like
like like they're winning football games because the defense, you know,
it's not like the offense is blowing anybody out. And
you know, warners hurt, they've lost edges, they've lost corners, defense, tackles,
and they still find a way to call the defense
that's not getting them absolutely smoke.
Speaker 6 (28:14):
They got whoop by the rams let but the rams off.
It is what it is.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
But what I wanted, what I wanted was for Flus
to be like, Man, I'm gonna figure this out a
little bit with Murray, but then when Overshewan comes back,
we're gonna be even better. So now we we you
know what I mean, flu You did well, man, But
all that next year stuff, we'll see.
Speaker 8 (28:32):
Man, all right, we're gonna take our We're gonna take
our final break when we come back. I do want
to flip to the offensive side of the ball. Because
Dak Prescott had a night and and we're not really
talking about as much.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
I said, Dak Prescott, did I not said? Is that
what I said?
Speaker 8 (28:47):
You know?
Speaker 6 (28:47):
You said.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
You heard I thought said a cuss word earlier.
Speaker 10 (28:56):
Breath word out of breath. But we come back.
Speaker 9 (29:01):
I want to know the juicy story as too. Why
those two guys.
Speaker 8 (29:06):

Speaker 6 (32:44):
All you need.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
There was one moment that was a little curious last night.
Speaker 8 (32:48):
So the game begins and the offense takes the feel
and we don't see George Pickens or no, no, I
take that back. We see George Pickens and we see CD,
but they are not on the field with the offense.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
And uh so what what what? What? What happened like
after the game.
Speaker 8 (33:07):
It was interesting because it was it was kind of
funny actually because there was, you know, kind of this
We first met with Ceedee Lamb and CD was like
he was asked about it and he's like, we that's
between us and coach and it's all right cool and
and I was not in on Schottenheimer's press conference, but
I heard he said a similar thing like that, that's
between me and the players.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
We got this figured out. Pickings though.
Speaker 8 (33:31):
Somebody somebody didn't tell him because he was asked the
question was brief, and he said, well, you know, we
something to the effect of it was more strategic, like
we thought they were going to do things that would
make sense for us to put our top two offensive
playmakers on the bench. I don't know what that would be,
but that was something that would make them do that.
And then he was made aware that hey, man, it's
(33:52):
kind of it's kind of out there that that this
was for disciplinary reasons, and then he got the memo,
all right, yeah, that's between me and.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Your game is basically And I love how he did it.
He did it all with a straight face. He is hilarious.
Speaker 11 (34:05):
Now.
Speaker 8 (34:05):
I don't know how funny he would have been if
they lost, but after when it's hilarious, it was.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
It was great. What do you guys think?
Speaker 8 (34:10):
Like, I actually look at that, and I'm like, it's
one of the I think, one of the basic tenets
of leadership, whether it is with kids or whether it
is with adults. When you say this is the standard,
the standard has to remain the standards, and it has
to be consequences for not meeting the standard. Otherwise there
is no standard. What do you guys think?
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Man, there's a lot of people that think shot is
too nice and to buddy buddy and that he wouldn't
be able to discipline anybody if it came down to it.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
I think that was his opportunity to do so.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
And I've seen Shotty cuss people out because they fighting
their camp and stuff like that. Like like we you know,
we've seen some of this. We know how we get down,
but like everybody may may not have seen that. I
think what was most important about it was like how
loud Digs his benching was, you know what I mean,
Like when they kind of sat him down because of
whatever whatever, So you can't bench Digs loudly and then
(34:59):
just be like, Okay, well you know, y'all just go
play like we wouldn't know, but the people in the
locker room would know. You know what I'm saying, hey man,
and Diggs might come out loudly and say because it
might tweet something Michael might tweet for him or something.
They'd be like, hey man, that's crazy, how y'all't do
X y Z. You know, keeping the same energy nobody
wanted to see and no respect to you guys. But
the first drive of the game flow turbing and tober,
(35:21):
like nobody wanted that to be your your wide receiver,
like like that's show eleven person like we we didn't
want to see that. But I think in the in
the long run, I think Shoty got a lot of
respect from his from his locker room because he's he's
kept the same energy with with the with the seniors,
with the good players.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
And all this kind of stuff. So shouts side to shot.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Him I thought a couple of things when it happened
last night. I was thinking, where was Derek Eagleton walking
behind them, telling them, Hey, listen, if you go in there,
you're gonna get fired. What are you when when we
when me and Rob Phillip, when Derek told us stops
to go into sports book, we just needed Derek eagle
to the walk behind the players. Tell them whatever you're
(36:03):
thinking about right now, just make.
Speaker 8 (36:05):
Clear there was no nothing that's they were doing any
or any places. They shouldn't be like that.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
But but but to me, it was they needed the voice.
They needed the voice. That's what I was kind of saying,
Just don't don't think about it. But what's even more
amazing if something did happen, it's amazing that they played
as great as they did. You know, that just shows
you what kind of players. It's almost like if there's
something happened and it was diary and it was you know,
(36:35):
we can find out later on what it is the
tip of the cap. These guys can line up and
play the way they play. That's good for them.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Y'all are no longer starters.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Meeting a win like meeting meeting a w That just
you you sit the best receiving football.
Speaker 8 (36:52):
You know.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
The thing about it is it's and you calling the
best receiving football. You calling the best receiving football.
Speaker 19 (36:58):
I'm being messy, but who you know, we hit that later,
we hit that later, We go No, I what I was,
you know, Relie, I think you know the point about
the discipline part.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
I hate to say this, I think Diggs has received
it worse, the kind of the the scorn and the
you know. And I'm not listen, I'm not sitting there
trying to you know, cape for uh for Diggs. But
I'm just saying, though, I think the criticism of him
and some of the off the field stuff or whatever,
(37:32):
it seems far more harsh towards him than it did
for two players that missed the missed the opening series.
Speaker 8 (37:39):
Is that because there have been report I mean going
back to the off season. You know, he wasn't here
when they wanted him to be here.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
Does it? Does it?
Speaker 12 (37:47):
Does it?
Speaker 17 (37:48):
Does?
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Does it? Does it?
Speaker 8 (37:49):
Also factor in the amount of time and the number
of times where fans are kind of like just a
little bit like what's going on. Not to say any
of that was legitimately true, but you know, you just
keep here things over time, maybe that affects you a
little more.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
And it's just brought the statement up he said the
same energy. Yeah, I don't see the same energy for
the two wide receivers as I do for Dick.
Speaker 8 (38:12):
Right, But here's here's my question. Let's say that we
get and I'm not saying this is gonna happen. Let's
say we get to you know, week sixteen, and this
has happened now two more times. Does the energy change?
Like right now, everybody's kind of like, all right, you
handled it. It's all good. They came out, they played well,
cowboys get a win.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
It's all good.
Speaker 8 (38:32):
Gp't I was funny, man, that's funny how you did that. Now,
let it happen again. Does it start to change? Let
it happen a third time? Does it change?
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Like?
Speaker 8 (38:40):
That's my point is, is the is the energy that
you're sensing about Trayvon more related to.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
We don't We don't know what all the things have
happened with Diggs. We don't know if there's multiple meetings
or multiple curfemes. No, we do.
Speaker 8 (38:55):
But what we do know is that going back to
the off season, he wasn't here yeah, and there was
conversation about that, right, and and we know that was
an issue, right, so we know that this has been
going on. No, I'm just saying, but there's been things
that there's been that that's been persisting since the offseason.
And so then when you get into the season and
now he's not healthy, and then you get into the
situation where there's all this cloud about what happened with
(39:16):
the whole concussion thing. I think that's where you start thinking, Okay,
maybe it's the matter of time and the number of
times that his name has come up in negative things.
That's why the energy is a little different.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
That's all that.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Yeah, I don't like I said to me, this is
very It's almost like college football, you know, with like, oh,
you're gonna set out the first you're gonna accept the
first series of the game, and you're back in there. Hey,
I'm glad they're back in I mean, they were really
one of the reasons why you won that football game.
But I'm just saying, though we talk about we're praising
Shoddy for things, I wonder I wonder if it's this,
(39:52):
you know, and Jimmy Johnson said it best. He treats
star players different than Yeah, and I'm not saying it Diggs.
It's not a star player or something like that, but
it just to me, it seems like Diggs has taken
a lot of arrows for what he's done. And you
might be absolutely right about.
Speaker 10 (40:07):
This, well, I think with at least with the two words.
But okay, going back to Diggs, he.
Speaker 9 (40:17):
I feel okay to say this, there's a lack of
commitment based on the things that you've seen from the
outside my perspectives, going back observation. This is my observation
from things going back to training camp. You know, we
all have eyes, we all were witnessing, you know, the
(40:38):
behaviors and stuff. And again I can only speak from
my point of view and the things that I see.
There are a lot of things that I don't see.
A lot of I have no clue what those conversations are.
But there's only the things that you can see and
start creating your own stories in your head. I think
you see the differences when you talk about let's say
(41:01):
a player like Overshown and his recovery of things versus
Diggs and the things you hear about as far as
his recovery on things and we still don't know the
story of what actually happened with the concussion, but I know,
I know it's been brought up that he's still dealing
with that knee injury and all of that.
Speaker 10 (41:22):
We still haven't had clear updates.
Speaker 9 (41:25):
But going back to the wide receivers, and I see
people mentioning like, oh, they only set them out for
like two minutes. True, but Shot is not dumb either,
like he has to win that football game. And initially
I was like taking a back when we heard about
it before the game started.
Speaker 10 (41:41):
I'm like, wait, what do you mean? What do you
mean they're sitting out for the first series.
Speaker 9 (41:46):
And I'm like, uh, that's the kind of punishment I
would give, is like after practice, dude, a thousand more
shops or something crazy. Yeah, but the fact that he
did that again, even though just a little thing, but
what else could he do that they you know, So
it's it's a tough position to be put at and
(42:07):
and with Diggs, I feel like there's still a lot
of information that we still don't know.
Speaker 8 (42:13):
Right, And I think that's the point, Like I don't
want to, I don't want to, you know, say that
that he did this or didn't do this or whatever.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
What I'm saying is, I think from the standpoint.
Speaker 8 (42:22):
Of the outsider people that are looking from the outside end,
you just keep hearing his name and stuff, you know, and.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
That's it might not be anything, but you keep hearing it.
Speaker 8 (42:32):
And this happened to I think to some players where
it's like this used to be the to thing, like
to never really got any bad trouble. He wasn't the
guy that was off the field getting into trouble all
the time. But his name was just always popping up
with He didn't show up here, he didn't do that,
you know, it was just and whether it's true or not,
his name was just always associated. And that's where I
think Diggs is kind of getting. And I'm speaking more
(42:55):
from the fans standpoint. I think Diggs is getting a
lot more of that negative energy from fans because what
they're hearing are these these just mentions of him in
negative ways. They're just continuing to hear, Man, I don't
know what's happening over here, and it's just it's and
it's because I don't think there is there are a
lot of people who really know exactly what has happened
in all these situations, but it seems weird, and so
(43:16):
that's why I think he's getting so much of this
negativity thrown his way, much more than at this point
what GP is getting.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
If Diggs was getting all the interceptions Diggs like he
was like three four years ago, you know what I'm saying,
If he was eleven pick Diggs, I don't think people
would care about if he missed something, if he fussed
with somebody, if he got his own trainer.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
At the house, other than him miss game, whatever.
Speaker 4 (43:42):
If you get eleven pigs, we don't care what you
did at the house. Those same reports can happen to
GP right now. Hey man, GP the best saving football
right now, we can't even like who cares? So I
think if Diggs goes out there and play some football,
maybe some of those things will kind of go away
a little bit.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
But if we if you getting noise.
Speaker 4 (44:00):
And you're not putting none on the field, because GP
went right out there and we cared less about what
him and CD did last night.
Speaker 2 (44:06):
As he's bowing people over, were like, hey man, I
don't care, you do it next week.
Speaker 10 (44:10):
Just again again, just.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Real quick though, though, I think the early DAK and
