That's why they dressed up on TV because it's Halloway.

Yeah yeah, man, come on, man, yeah, I'm dressed up
as like a mile boss or something I knew.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Yeah, all right, we.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Got a lot We're gonna talk about today. It's a Friday.
We don't have Amber Garcia and whether us today we
normally do a little yetti time. We'll still do some
yetti time. I have some a fun little game for
you guys. We'll do a little bit of would you
rather on today's episode of The Break during our yetti time.
Before we get there, though, I did want to talk
about a couple of injuries from the injury report yesterday.

(01:40):
Jack Sanborne did not participate. Donovan Wilson did not participate.
Both of them still battling injuries that have kept them
out of previous games. Growing for Sanborne Sandborne and elbow
and shoulder for Wilson. What are we hearing about those
two players?

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yeah, I think that I think they're both guys that
are gonna be probably questionable for this weekend when it
comes to the game. The growing injury is never easy
to deal with, you know. Sambourne was dealing with the concussion,
so they're trying to kind of make sure that that's
something that he's completely healthy with these the shoulder injury
and the elbow injury for Wilson were pretty significant and

(02:17):
so the fact that he did not practice all last
week and then you know, did not play of course,
and then this week he's starting office being on that list,
I have a feeling they're going to allow him probably
to miss again this week, and then you get into
the bye week and give him another and then so
the next time that we likely will see him potentially
is against the Raiders on Monday Night Football here in

(02:38):
a couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
I think that's the interesting part for all the guys
that are injured right now the Cowboys is you kind
of look at it and say, if you can manage
to get by this week without them, then the preference
would be to get by without them, because it does
give you the benefit of then them having basically three
weeks to be able to sit, rest, rehab, do whatever
they need to do so they're ready to come back

(03:00):
for the second half of the season. Limited participant was
jan Ye Thomas, another safety. What are we hearing about
those migraines.

Speaker 6 (03:07):
Yeah, that's something that they're just trying to kind of
deal with right now. It's you know, it's they they
for him. It's one of those that's come and gone.
But they've got to be very mindful. We talked about
that you know, when you're starting to talk about something
to deal with your head and then you know you've
got to get that completely cleared up. You cannot be
you know, you cannot have vision problems, you cannot have
any type of pain or anything like that. So how

(03:30):
he feels is how they're going to be able to
practice him.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
On the good note, Cooper Beebe with his ankle, was
a full participant yesterday. Do we think he's now? I
know last week it felt to me, and I'll just
speak for myself, it felt to me like everything we
were hearing suggested he was on his way back and
ready for last week's game. Do you think it's the
same this week? And do you think it actually ends
up meaning they will put him out there and have
him play this week.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
I think they're going to play him this week. You
know last week, and I think they were to have
played him last week. I think this was a we
talked about it. I was hearing some conversations that it
was a coach's decision why they chose not to play him.
So I think with him being a full participant, I
don't anticipate him not playing this week against Arizona.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Well that's gonna be a good thing. Brian Brush.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Absolutely, they have some bigger guys in the middle. We
talked about you know, Campbell and some of those guys.
They got some heavy dudes in the middle. And I'm
finally ready to have my run game advantage back, or
my size and my power advantage back.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
So if BB can indeed go.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
And look, I would have loved to have him last week,
but maybe I feel a little better now that if
they felt like he couldn't go last week, and maybe
he's one hundred and ten percent healthy now and they
would get zero setbacks. We've even seen that with Booker
or even Big Tyler that coming back from injuries, like
maybe there's a small little step back or like an
acclamation period. Hopefully the BB's you know, situation is not

(04:51):
as you know deep.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
As yeah he was initially it was a six to
eight week injury, and then he was looking to get
back in six weeks and you know, and so they
probably were in a situation where there's maybe the medical
staff felt like, yeah, he's okay if you want to
use him, and the coach has said, now, let's just
go for this one week. We'll give him one more week.
And man after looking at Denver's inside three, that was

(05:14):
something A big point of emphasis that we made last
week on our shows was how important was it going
to be to win the inside game? And clearly Dallas
didn't win the inside game. And it wasn't just because
of Bebie. It was because Booker didn't play his best
and also we didn't see Tyler Smith have one of
his better games. But that's what Denver's front will do
to you. I have felt like overall the you know,

(05:36):
the tackles, especially with Geiden Hilda, but yeah, having BB
back I think will make a big, big difference against
this crew.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
To that point, it was interesting this morning I heard
Coach Schottenheimer on with Sean and RJ on the Fan
and one of the things he said was he's like,
you know, we've been stressing the fact that you gotta
win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
And he said, if you look at the games at
the Cowboys have lost this season, they lost up front
on both sides of the ball. And I think you
can say about Caroline, I think you can say that

(06:04):
about Denver. I don't know as much about Philly. I
mean Philly was just kind of one of those weird
kind of back and forth games. I don't know they
got completely dominated up front, but in those two games particularly,
I do feel like they got just dominated up front,
and you could tell when they can't win the line
of scrimmage, it's going to be a long day for them.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Absolutely, And and really on both sides of the ball,
that was that was a big, big problem, you know, defensively,
we when you look at overall though that I think
the Philadelphia game too, you know, with them being losing
their one of their best defensive tackles, I think clearly
helped the situation there. But but overall though, they've had
some games this year where they have just not been

(06:44):
able to get things going. And hopefully we'll have everybody
back this week. I think that's that we need to anticipate.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Yeah, And the the biggest thing I just want to
keep on harping on is that even when your offensive
line isn't all very great in the passing game, that
covers up a lot of that stuff. If you know,
we just talked about trenches, is there's not really anybody
on defense that can cover up how bad they're playing.
You know, but at least on offense, if you run
into a team where there are some issues and there's
some pretty good rushers coming up this week, Brian Dak

(07:11):
just knows how to deal with those guys in neutralize
and neutralize them. So I'm very, very much grateful to
have four playing.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Let me ask you this question. You just brought up
something that was interesting to me. You said, on defense,
I don't have anybody that can really cover that up
when you're not playing well up front on defense, do
you think a really talented linebacker can cover some of
the deficiencies of the defensive tackles if they're not getting
off blocks or if they're getting moved out of holes.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
I think the better your linebacker is maybe the less
he relies on the guys are front. But I think
the guys up front are the ones that cover up
for everybody else behind them. So if they're playing bad
and you're not just flat out special, there have been
some times where San Francisco hadn't been you know, they
haven't been perfect. But Fred is a guy that knows
how to navigate but not run himself out of a play,

(07:59):
or not to overrun a play, or he could just
stack and share a guy. So Fred is a guy
that overcome it. But boy, how many guys are there
like like him?

Speaker 2 (08:07):
You gotta be special.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Fred, Keithley, Sean Lee is a very short list of
those guys. So for the most part, it's it can
be true, But I don't think it's very common in
the league. As opposed to the other side, it's very common.
Like if you got a bad linebackers. Man never has
some linebacker I've never heard of my life, But boy,
they got some d line and it just kept it
clean for him. And those guys were able to be aggressive.

(08:28):
They can run sideline sideline. They had no worries in
the world.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Please goosh, We Derek this this morning, Watch and I
did a show. We took fan questions and stuff, and
one of the questions were to rank and give priority
if you could make a trade by position, If you
could make a trade defensively by position, do you make
a trade for and rank him in order of how
they would.

Speaker 7 (08:49):
Be priorities to you?

Speaker 6 (08:51):
Edges, defensive tackles, linebacker or safety.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
How would you rank.

Speaker 6 (08:57):
Those in order for you in importance of if you
could make a trade in those positions and rank them
in what order you have them.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
For me, and I've been consistent about this, I think
your biggest problem right now is your linebacker position. So
I would go linebacker first, I'd go edge second, I
would go defensive tackle third, and I would go safety fourth.
And the only reason I'm putting safety last is just
because I've seen defenses that have very very average safeties

(09:27):
be good defenses because everything else is working right. And
so for me, I just think, you know, that's the
play position where you can get by more. I think
right now, linebacker and getting pressure on the quarterback, those
are the two areas where I feel like they are
really struggling. And I'll say this, even with that being said,
I wouldn't be shocked. I wouldn't be shocked if when

(09:47):
all this is said and done, trade deadline comes by
and the Cowboys make if the Cowboys make a move,
that they go out and get a defensive tackle. And
I don't necessarily think it would hurt them if they
got a really good one. So I think you know,
any of them, you can use any of those positions.
I just would prefer give me a linebacker, then give
me an edge, then I'll go defensive tackle, then I
will safety.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
See.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
What's interesting is that when we talked about this, Brian,
both of us. Both of us said linebacker first. So
we're all in agreement.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Really, I was kind of shocked to hear that, Yeah, we're.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
All linebacker first, but we all disagree on the second.
Brian will go safety second. I would go one text second,
you says you will go edge. Yeah, so we're all
different there, but why wouldn't you guys go edge second?

Speaker 6 (10:25):
Because to me, when you if you look at this defense,
you have two young well two players. Do you feel
like I feel like you have no safety play right now?
And I feel like that you have Donovan Azarako and
you have Houston. Do you have two guys? I have
nothing at the at the safety in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Yeah, that is that when you're when once you're healthy
or just in general, it doesn't matter if you're healthy
or not.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
I just I don't me personally.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
I feel like though with at least with Edge, did
I have two guys? I have a guy on that come.
I believe with the Donovan as Arako, you know, and
I feel like that if you you Houston and we'll
see with Clowney Clowney spent a little up and down,
But I kind of feel like I have If I
had to say, where do I.

Speaker 7 (11:07):
At least have guys?

Speaker 6 (11:09):
I just don't feel like I have anybody at safety,
But I do feel like I have a couple of
guys at edge.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Yeah, I chose tackle because I feel like if you
could be great on the inside, I think, like that's
the that's the fastest way to get to the passer,
and like that dude to be better on the run
game as well.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
You know, shout out to Osa.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
Man Osa got his money and he's done his thing
throughout his career whatever. But I think if you can
get like a dominant type, like a I can't say,
like a dominant dude, I think they'll sit Osa down
in that case because just like that that guy would
be would be so much better. I also think why
I didn't pick safety, I think safety is a bit
of a luxury when everything else is horrible around you. Like,
there's no way I would pick safety over linebacker, edge

(11:48):
or or tackle, because I think, man, you can have
a fantastic safety, but he'll just be sitting back there
all day, just cleaning up tackles while everybody upfront's getting whooped,
So it was really.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Just an order of operation for me.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Is not wrong though, because even if you're totally healthy
at safety, I don't think safety is all. They're great,
and it stopped you from drafting somebody when we get
to draft seas or just getting help elsewhere. But I
just look at safety like I look at tight end,
like all the great teams got great tight ends. But
it's a bit of a luxury if you're you know,
you're lying, and your quarterback and your wide receivers are bad.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
I kind of use safety like that.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Okay, that's so that brings up an interesting thought. I
want to take a good guy go down this path
with you, guys. If you take the best player in
the NFL, whoever that is in your mind, at each
of those positions, and you put them on this Dallas defense,
which one makes a greater impact on this defense?

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Since when I trade and can, I say.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
We're just saying if you say, if you say, well,
we all agree, Let's say we all agree Miles Garrett
is the best defensive end in the NFL. If you
put him on this defense doesn't make a difference.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
So we got Miles Garrett, Fred Warner, I say.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
It's hurt, but yeah, we could show just.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
The idea of Jeffrey Simmons, Fred Warner, Kirby, Joseph and
Miles Garrett.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
I think.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
I think Fred Warner impacts everything the most. I think
if he was here, big impact. Uh you said, then
tackle if if they were here on the cob of course, lineback,
but at tackle, Yeah, a guy like Quinn Williams or
Jeffrey Simmons.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
That was kind of where I was going early.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Yeah, you somebody got to sit down, and I feel
confident sitting OSA down. And for Jeffrey Simmons, please, I
don't care about money at all at that point. You
just got three rischs.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
But the impact, what I'm saying is immediate impact, immedia
defense changes.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Jeffrey Simmons eats double teams for breakfast, shouts out the OSA,
but he like two nineties. He's a swow to ninety.
Jeffrey Simmons is a true three hundred and something yeah,
and explosive, and he eats double teams for breakfast immediately
he makes it in the in past rush, pushing the
pocket and in run defense.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
So one if he was here Brian.

Speaker 7 (13:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
I think to me that that when if you look
at just the guys that that I've watched here, you know,
and I really really like Quinn Williams is a name,
but if you to watch Simmons, the violence that he
plays with, I think makes him a guy that a
lot of teams would absolutely love to have. The reason
I said safety second though, because I think guys like

(14:12):
Brian Branch make a difference. I think if Brian Branch
and Detroit is a guy that comes in and all
of a sudden, you got a tackler, you got a blitzer.
You know, there was an era one time when I
was in Pro personnel. It was the era of Ed
Ed Reid. It was Troy Polamalo. Yeah, you're not going
to trade for one of those guys. But that's where
safety play can make a difference. I mean, and Brian Branch,

(14:33):
to me, even in Xavier McKenny a little bit at
Green Bay, these guys make a little bit of a
difference back there when it comes to playing and changing games.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
And just to make it clear, that was not saying
that we were trading, I was just saying the best
player league, how much do they impact the defense where
you think there's so many problems. And I think that's
the point I wanted to get back to, is I
really believe if you take the best player at every position,
I think linebackers the one that you look at this defense.
You give me an impact linebacker, I mean, like a

(15:03):
real impact linebacker, I think it can make a huge
difference for this defense.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
And if you kind of look at like Fred is
the guy that's been like winning the most out of
all those guys like Miles is fantastic, he ain't really
winning games like that, And you can say the same
about Simmons, it.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Might say something about the position too, Like I'm kind
of starting I've come around on that part of a
little bit.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
Yeah, and safety, I'm the best teams got safeties, but
I still just think it's a luxury.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
That's like having a roll legs and a broke down
apartment for me. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
You got fantastic Kirby Joseph, but everything's weird up front.
At least the Lions can say our d line good,
our linebacker is good. We got corners, we got a
free and a strong so that kind of goes together,
like that, But we'll take a break and come back
and talk about it.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
All right, let's take our first break. When we come back,
we'll do a little yetty time without ag with back

Welcome back. We are in the second segment of The
Break live in SWBC Mortgage Studios at the Star, presented
by LG. This segment's brought to you by yety List
and Yetti segment yety Time without ag AG is not
here today, but I did come up with some questions.
I went and started kind of come up with some questions.
We're gonna play a little game of would you rather?

(18:30):
And I'm gonna start off with some just some easy
questions that are just kind of fun about you, and
then we'll get into some more cowboys related question Let's
start first, this will be interesting. From mister Bradison, Oh,
would you rather barbecue or boiled seafood?

Speaker 6 (18:48):
I've been to boiled seafood all day. I really and
I and I've found myself not watching TV anymore. When
I'm not watching tape, I'm watching YouTube videos and I
love to I'm fascinated by the guys in Galasic and barbecue,
but I love the fact of how people do seafood
stuff steam well whatever they whatever they do. So I'm

(19:10):
I'm more likely at a party if you invite me,
I'm likely to cook seafood for you than I am barbecue.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Right, that is fire up.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
I just want to say, people in the chest they
say that they're leaving because ambar is not here, So
I think that's interesting.

Speaker 6 (19:21):
But it's absolutely sorry, it's fair.

Speaker 7 (19:26):
Actually Tuesday, we'll see you today.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
It's so fascinating.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
You're a Dallas man, but you like a Louisiana man,
because that's a Louisiana answer.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
They all have bull you know.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
Well, it's funny.

Speaker 6 (19:36):
My family, my uncle was Sonny Bryan's in Dallas. If
you know a barbecue, it's been around since the late aberties. Yeah,
so yeah, it's it's my family has been all about barbecue.
But yeah, I love I love anything to do with seafood,
to how to cook seafood.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Well, I'm from Mississippi and we cook possums and raccoons
over open fire all the time, so of course it'll
be even better quality meats on it. I got my
smoker right now, I'm actually navigating.

Speaker 7 (20:05):
From are expensive.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Now that ain't that ain't cheap me.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
But I am a barbecue guy all day every day.
I do like both because I also fish and I
can get down on the seafood. But if I had to,
like pick, I'm cutting on some fire, I'm cooking and cooking.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Some over I'm right there with you. I love I
like boil. I love a good crawfish boil. But man,
it's nothing like the pit. And to be honest, there's
a lot of work eating seafood. To it is it is,
it's work.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
But I'll tell you what, Man, when you could do
like crab legs nowadays, the way with snow crab legs
and stuff, you could you could put those that seafoot
and stuff like that on on smokers.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, as a rich man, I will put salmon on
a on a smoker and some good stuff. But now
I like the best when I'm sitting out with my
fellas and we just like back to college where we
put stuff on the grill and literally you're eating it
off the grill like it's ready, you grab it, you
eat it right there. Like that's man, nothing like that
good cold beer. Man, that's a good Saturday afternoon.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I've been thinking about this.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
I haven't told Derek this, but I'm gonna we're gonna
have a we have a party of his house one
day and watching college football winner.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
I haven't told him.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
You might want to talk to Missus Eagleton. I'm just
gonna say today, I can.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Come back whenever I want to.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna cook some food and load
it up in the f one fifty, and right before
I get there, I'm a call there, But hey, can
I come through?

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Like I said, you might want to check you on
miss Look. I might not have a problem with it,
but if you get that look from Missus Eagleton, you
don't want to get it in the second time. Like
I'm just saying, Lord, So you might want to check
in with her and just make sure she's good on
that that day. Whenever that day is gonna be all right.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
I'm going to Brown's house.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Here we go, all right in the spirit of Halloween.
Candy corn or jelly beans both trash, really hot take.

Speaker 7 (21:45):
I'll tell you what I agree with him.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
I aint candy corn. Let me tell you, I'm gonna
throw it. I'm gonna throw another one in there if
you if you hand me one of those candies that's
in an orange or black wrapper without any name on it,
I am.

Speaker 7 (21:58):
We might fight.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
We might have the honey tape.

Speaker 7 (22:01):
We might fight, you know, And.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
There might be a chance that you know, as I
walk in the from the nineteen seventies with my plastic
mask and had a little bit of ear, a little
air hole in it, and I couldn't see, and my
costume got ripped because I was running and stuff, I
might take those candies and throw them back at you.
As I get to the curb, I might just spin
and just throw them, launch them back to the front porch.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Somebody in the hood chasing you with your head.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
I'd say, I'm just telling you, man, those candies are trash.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
We would, we would kind of. We were some bad
kids when I was growing up when the hood like
we would. Halloween meant we had a basket that we
put our candy in. We also had a basket we
were carrying eggs in and if we had a house
that was not hospitable, or if it just happened to
be a car passing by that we didn't really love
the person driving it, so they might get a barrage

(22:52):
of eggs.

Speaker 7 (22:53):
Wait.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yeah, coming off high ninety five team a year one year,
me and my cousin. Now we're doing crazy stuff. We
out there just egging folks and the cops showed up. Yeah,
we booking it, trying to get away, hiding under cars.

Speaker 7 (23:09):
I get caught.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
I'm like nine, ten years old, like we were just
we were bad.

Speaker 6 (23:14):
Man.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
I think I bring something out of deer.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
He gonna come on here and tell us he robbed
the bank one day, and I will not, and we
just gonna.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
I will not, but I do have a pass. Let's
just put it like that, like we all were young
and dumb at something.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Let's let's be honest though, Like if you're you know,
the candy, you got to think about these things, folks.

Speaker 7 (23:30):
You know you got it.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
You can't just like randomly like another thing you're throwing out,
like twizzlers, like that liquorice stuff. That's there's no thought
to that I had a lady candy and full sized candies.

Speaker 7 (23:41):
If you can do it, it's a.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Good candy person.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
I think I had a lady that gave us bottles
of apple cider.

Speaker 7 (23:48):
Help you with weight loss.

Speaker 5 (23:51):
Shout out to miss buckleo dog apple sighting. Oh we
made this apple sid and we love it. Here take
something you trying to start a business.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
What would you guys do in this day and age
if you were trick or treating and they handed you
the caramel apple?

Speaker 2 (24:07):
I like car like yeah Eve as a kid, when
I was a kid, I love karma.

Speaker 6 (24:11):
See there's like kids. I don't think kids appreciate the caramel.
They don't appreciate it. That's why I grew up in
an arrow where they were worried about church. The church
lady would have.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Some caramel apples out in a car after church, or
she has some some popcorn balls. Popcorn balls, right, So
like kids these days, they don't know nothing about that.
So it's just different.

Speaker 7 (24:30):
See that's the thing about it.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
If somebody was taking the opportunity to bake something, yeah,
I'm always just like, yeah, cool, let's try it. But
or make the caramel apples. But like I say, there's
there's a lot of them though that. How do you
guys feel about mounds? The mounds little candies with the
coconut and then the coconut, the nut and.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Cho I'm throwing them back at somebody house. I don't
want nothing to got no dog.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
I'm just not a big chocolate person, so that probably
would miss me just because I'm not chocolate.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
I'm not a big chocolate persons.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
All right, here we go, here's our next question. We're
gonnave into some cowboys.

Speaker 7 (25:01):
Thoughts.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Would you rather spend an all expense paid, all access
week with Jerry Jones or with Shoddy?

Speaker 3 (25:09):
I don't want to spend them no time with none
of that.

Speaker 7 (25:11):
What you mean?

Speaker 2 (25:12):
You get to hang out for a week with them,
You go everywhere they go, You get to hear all
the conversations they have, the whole nine.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Well, Jerry Jones is a much richer man.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
So well, but you got all expense paid with you.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
So we might end up in some other country. Shot.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
It seemed like me and him listen to the same music,
so so it'll tell.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
They might end up at a great concert.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
Gonna go.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
Uh, Jerry Jones has paid has paid for my dinner
before and it was it was exceptional, so uh we
could do that, and and and because look, I get
the same vibes when on with like Brian knows everybody.
So by me kicking it with Brian, somebody talking to him,
I just get to meet Oh Hugh scouted for the
Cowboy shots out to you play?

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Oh oh you you you in charge of what?

Speaker 7 (25:54):
You know? What I mean?

Speaker 5 (25:54):
I bet Jerry got some million their friends. I would
love to shake. Yeah, I'm sure jay z is something.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
So Jerry, give me Jerry all day. Yes, you can
have stories.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Give me Jerry all day because you know you're probably
gonna like I have a story real quick about Jerry
and my old boss Larry Lacewell, like dude, like Larry,
God bless him for rest of the soul. But Lace
one time calls me. I'm over at at Valley Ranch.
Lace calls me up. He's like like there, Jerry is
there at the super Bowl and Jerry and Lace and

(26:25):
all of them are having a good old time.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
And Lace calls me up.

Speaker 6 (26:27):
Like two days in he goes Man picked me up
at the airport at five thirty today. I said why,
and he goes I thought you were at the super Bowl.
He goes, I got to get out of here. I
gotta get where have it. I can't I can't do this.
I can't do this. And I'm like, well don't you
He goes, no, I told him I was going to
the restroom and I just got and got my bag.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
He just did too much, too much, too much fun.

Speaker 7 (26:50):
They were they were going, they were going, they were going.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
It is kind of like it was my body's gonna die.

Speaker 7 (26:57):
That's what Lance jumped on the phone. He's like, man,
you gotta pick me up at the airport.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
What's that on the table?

Speaker 7 (27:03):
Got? Yeah, But now that's the Jerry and Steven.

Speaker 6 (27:07):
Yeah, that's they're they're they're they're really they're actually a
really fun group to hang out. Been part of some
dinners and stuff that was really a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
All right, here's another one. Would you rather hear a
full unedited version of what Jerry says after a loss,
or a full unedited version of what an opponent team's
had coach has to say about Dallas after they beat them.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
They're probably saying the same thing cowboy fans say, so.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Uh, I would There is a part of me that
if PR.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Wasn't around, What would this stuff sound like? For real? Like,
what does Jered really think?

Speaker 5 (27:39):
I gave Shotty credit earlier for you know, this thing
not going off the rails and the way of nobody's
pointing things at the defense. But I would love to
just if PR wasn't around, was going on? He goes
man number one offense.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
And he you know what I mean. I would just
love to know.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Yeah, so yeah, I would love like Jerry, like Jerry
and you know, unfiltered without PR.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
I've heard Jerry after a game, so I know I
know what that one sounds like. Oh no, he's oh man,
there's we we we is Duck and Cover. It really
was in some Duck and Cover meetings. Uh, but yeah,
I to me, I'm always interested in what the other
team said, coach is you know It's funny. I have
a relationship with Sean Payton and I didn't circle back

(28:20):
with him. I'll catch him down the road somewhere and like, hey,
what did you really really think about, you know, playing
the Cowboys and how did you feel like you needed
to attack him? That that that that version I think
will be good probably after the season.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
And that's the part I kind of I kind of
want to hear what I think I know from working here.
I kind of know what Jerry's gonna say. It's not
pleas for those in a private setting. I don't know,
like a like like Sean. I would love to know
if Sean left that game being like, man, yeah, you
can stop this offense by doing.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
Blah blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Man, you can stop this defense. You can do blah blah.
You know, I would love to hear from an opposing
coach and unedited version of what they think of the
players of that, because it will it will give you
a good insight as to where your holes are.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
I guarantee you.

Speaker 7 (29:04):
I guarantee you.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
Jerry probably talked to Sean afterwards. I mean maybe because
you don't play you don't play the Broncos that often,
you know, And maybe Jerry did pick up the phone
or Steven picked up the phone and like, hey, when
you attacked us, what were you thinking? Well, this is
what we went into the game. We knew you were
really compromised in the secondary. We knew we can handle
your pass rush. When we ran the ball, we thought

(29:26):
about this. That's that's the thing that Jerry or Steven
can get if you don't play somebody a lot, you
can get that kind of information from a coach, and
I think Sean would absolutely give it, or even Shoty
could call him up and say, hey, man, really, when
you broke us down, what were you thinking?

Speaker 7 (29:44):
Well, this is what we thought that you guys were
going to struggle at.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
Well, see, that's why we're missing out because Mike is
not here anymore and he's friends with people that just
whooped us the day before. So when he had his
pot on and Jeorde Love came on and he was like, yeah, man,
we ran right at We decided it was going come
up there and run the ball of whoope and that
wouldn't y'all got lineback.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
The fun part is he's talking to the guy that
was running right at.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Run right at Micha and y'all two hundred and five linebackers,
what we're gonna do?

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Yeah, all right, here's the next one. Would you rather
win a Super Bowl knowing you not even make the
playoffs for the next ten years, or make it to
the Super Bowl for five years straight and have to
face the ninety three Cowboys each time?

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Do we have an opportunity to win one.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
If you can beat the ninety three Cowboys creak.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
I'd rather win the super and not go back to
super Bowl for ten years.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
Yeah, not even getting the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Pretend not the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
You're not even competitive for tends.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
But yeah, I take that Super Bowl, man, I take
that Super Bowl. Be obnoxious, go to jail and make
all that content money and just and just live it
up and just reset and go through this same process.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
All over again. I'll do it.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
I do a playoffs. Ain't frount Cowboy fans don't care
nothing about playoffs because Dad goes to the playoffs and
people are like, he ain't never been there.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
But when you win a Super Bowl, you are immortal.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
I disagree with you on that.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
I think.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I think, well, here's why, because I do agree with
you that at the end of the day, fans are
at a point where they do still they're like, man,
what's going happen to plus what's gonna happen in plaoffs?
But there is something about getting to the playoffs in
our business when you talk about interest and they trust me.
I've been through seasons like last year whereabout Thanksgiving? You
like I don't really know. I don't think we're gonna
even be in the playoffs, and it changes how people

(31:22):
interact with the content, It changes how people want to
interact with the team, It changes everything. So I like
the fact that we pretty much stay in the conversation,
stay in the mix every year, and really are right
there up until playoffs and then it, you know, whatever
happens in the playoffs happens.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Do y'all think.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
Bill's fans positively reflect on going to the super Bowl
four times in a row?

Speaker 3 (31:44):
And I will hope.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
I don't kind. That's why I asked this question, because
you could be the Buffalo Bills, and I think that
is that to me is probably I won't say more,
but at least as frustrating as maybe what Cowboys fans
are experiencing right now, because you're right there at the cusp,
like you're right there for four years.

Speaker 7 (32:06):
A chance to win it, right, you have a chance
to win it.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yes, you have a chance to win.

Speaker 7 (32:09):
Give me the five straight, Give me the five straight.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
I think most most teams win one super Bowl anyway,
and they may be playoff teams here or there, like
Saints were a one super Bowl team. You know, Maya
McCarthy got one super Bowl win, and that's just kind
of what your legacy is. But for the rest of
the way, you are a super Bowl winner. Jalen Hursts
never win another win. Jayleen Hurston is a super Bowl winner.
As much as that made me sick, I'll take that one.
Superb Flo. I love people remember that ye bring. I

(32:35):
love bringing up Flacco, Nick Fos, Trip Dilfred Branch. I
love all those guys because it matters. We know trit
Dilferd's name because he won a super Bowl. It was
on defense, but he won a super Bowl. That could
be a Hall of Famer right now. He got the
numbers already, the public stuff he in those scandals, he
win one super Bowl, he's a Hall of Famer automatically

(32:58):
by just one.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
That's where your business comes. I agree.

Speaker 6 (33:00):
I have a friend that is a scout currently in
the league and he was with the Atlanta Falcons when
they had that twenty eighth to three league That hurt
and he and he realized when that game was over,
he realized he would never likely have another chance.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Nobody cares that that met Ryan Windle.

Speaker 6 (33:15):
Yeah, that's the thing about it. He you know, you
win in that one means a lot, but you just
never know. Give me the opportunity where I have every
year to at least try, give me the opportunity if
I can, maybe maybe I get lucky in a game
like New England did against Seattle where they don't hand
the ball off.

Speaker 7 (33:31):
Do you think you never know.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Y'all was outside when it's happened.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
Do y'all think that it hurt Peyton Manning's legacy to
be in so many big games but he didn't win
those super Bows till late right, so so till he
up until he did actually win with the Coats. Do
you do you do you think that it hurt his
legacy to be a great quarterback, great offense, great team,
but not winning.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
A supers not until not because he want me, because
he won one. Sure it doesn't matter, Like that's my point, Like,
once you win one, yeah, whatever else, then it's gonna
be about what your numbers, like how did you lead
your team? All those other things become much more relevant.
But if you never win one, now it's be like,
well he wasn't even he never even won a super Bowl,

(34:11):
so it's like it's almost that, Yeah, you have to
win that one, you just everything else, and that tells
you how great Dan Marino was.

Speaker 7 (34:18):
Right.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
The fact that even without winning a super Bowl he
is considered by most people who would make an evaluation
a top five historical quarterback in the NFL. That tells
you how great he really was. But like, it's without
that super Bowl. It's just like it's hard to get
the it's hard to get the recognition as one of
the greats at quarterback unless you have a super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Shout out to willst he just hit me, say give
me that ring. I don't care about.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
Look, I'm sure everybody is yet right now, Well you know,
but like I said, I mean, been fortunate enough to
be on a team to get one. And then that happened,
you know, in nineteen ninety six, and then I worked
another ten years and never.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
You know how much clout you get at super Bowl
winning Scotty Brown.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
Broo, I always say that they get the work. As
to your life as super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (35:01):
I'll say this, I'll say this, I've gotten and this
is gonna sound crazy. And and if I didn't mean
to say crazy, but I get more cloud. If worked
at Dallas Cowboys dot Com, they went in.

Speaker 5 (35:12):
A super Bowl but you're super Bowl No, no, no, no, no,
I have I have your super Bowl winning Scout Brian
brought us on Dallas cout. Those two work together, dud,
but nobody would care if you were for Super Bowl
attempt Scout brought and you get the winning bunk.

Speaker 9 (35:26):
But I.

Speaker 6 (35:29):
Think people, I think people know me more in this
world as a media guy because of my work with
Dallas Cowboys doc.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
If I'm super Bowl winning content creative Vice Lombardy, we
I'm going up. We're making all the monies. We're making
all the money because now I get to fight and
like interact with it.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Oh yeah, people still fight, No, no, no, no.

Speaker 6 (35:49):
People will still fight with you. Even if you're super
Bowl winning champ. People will still people like, uh, you're
a failed scout. I mean that that is the argument
that goes. That's the argument that somebody will say to
me like, oh, well, why aren't you running the team?

Speaker 7 (36:00):
Now? Why are you in the media? You know why?

Speaker 3 (36:03):
And did you cut started Bill for our sales? Like
they ain't gonning to do with you?

Speaker 2 (36:07):
And every time I just get the mental image of
Bill kind of standing there in a towel.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Friday, leave you out because you.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
I'll tell you one thing if I have to get

Speaker 6 (39:22):
Okay, when you look at this, when you look at
the Arizona Cardinals offensively with this, worry you that since
they've lost Connor and Benson, their two running backs, this
team has got in they've gone to these jumbo packages.
Now where they have, they've played six or more offensive

(39:42):
linemen like twenty two percent of their snaps. They play
a lot of heavy personnel with three tight ends, one back,
that's thirteen personnel.

Speaker 7 (39:51):
They've done this all.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
Since weeks five through seven, and they've averaged about six
yards of play doing this. Do you have a concern
that they're going to get in heavy personnel and try
and beat you up in this game?

Speaker 5 (40:02):
Brian, this run defense so terrible. You can't even talk
about matchups because the whole thing as a whole is terrible.
You know, it's not like we're better in one department
than we are some other. I think the operation as
a whole is bad. So whether they in jumbo, whether
they in empty ten personnel, whatever, trip stack, whatever you
want to do with a wing, I just think there

(40:22):
needs to be better player around the ball.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
It don't matter what they do.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
And my belief is, when you're talking about specifically the
run game for Arizona, what I'm most concerned about is
Kyler Murray. Let's be honest, I am most concerned about
Kyler Murray. I think this is a game where I
don't have any reason to believe that that Dallas is
better necessarily at being able to stop a running quarterback.

(40:47):
And you're getting a running quarterback that is a running
quarterback who is souped up like he is the souped
up version of running quarterbacks. He is a guy that
runs a legit four to three and can and it's
hard to find. He's he's hard to find and before
you know what he is by you. I'm worried more
about that than any other part of this offense. And yes,
Dallas has given up a lot of yards through the air,

(41:09):
They've given up a lot of year yards on the
ground traditional running backs. This week, I'm way more concerned
about what Kyler Murray does to you with his legs.

Speaker 6 (41:17):
All right, how about this one, Vacci. The Cowboys quarterback
rating against them is eighty three point nine. That's a
passer rat first non motion teams, but when teams play
motion against them, the quarterback rating is one thirty four
point seven. Arizona has the tenth lowest motion rate in

(41:41):
the league. You think Arizona's going to try and motion you,
or they're gonna be who they are.

Speaker 5 (41:47):
I think they they don't have a choice, like they
can't change everything up right now. I think they're going
to be who they are. And just one more note
today watching the film Brian, they do run motion, but
they run it like Maya McCarthy ran the most Like
they didn't run the motion to miss reku or to
play with your eyes or to get answered questions. They'll
just be moving somebody from one spot to another. That's
not really the motion that disadvantages the Cowboys defense. The

(42:09):
motion that disadvantages us is when you motion somebody and
I could give it to the wide receiver, I could
give it to the running back. I'm lying, it's all
play action. I'm throwing right over top of you. That's
the motion that whoops us. I don't think that the
Cardinals will be changing up very much, you know, last
minute like that.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Yeah, I don't expect them to do a lot of
things different than what they've done before. Quite frankly, I
don't know they need to. I don't know if many
teams have found that they needed to do a lot
of things differently. I think it's just they'll they'll probably
again just take advantage of the mismatches they can create
with the running ability of their quarterback. All right, let's
get to some predictions here. I want you guys tell

(42:46):
me what you think is going to happen this Monday.
It's gonna be a Monday night game. We will not
be on the air Monday, but we'll be back on Tuesday.
But on Monday night, what do you think happens will start?

Speaker 5 (42:54):
You watched, Man, We're gonna beat the hell out of
the Cardinals. I mean they gonna they gonna put some points.
I'm a homer. I mean they're gonna put some points up. Though,
they're gonna put up a lot of let me close,
it'll be a good time for a Brandon Arby field goal. Again,
none to do with how good the Cardinals are, just
how bad we are on defense.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
I'm thinking thirty five.

Speaker 7 (43:10):
Did it two? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (43:11):
This is one of those games where all of a
sudden Dallas has to get back on that horse. Offensively,
you know they've done a great job at home. Here
are scoring points, and let's see if the magic continues.
Arizona a little bit of a different challenge to you
because of the things. They don't let you run the ball,
and they don't let you throw the ball deep. Dallas
is going to have to find some ways to manufacture

(43:33):
those things. But at home, I always like their chances
much more now than on the road. Give me Dallas
twenty eight and the Arizona Cardinals twenty six. I think
you're gonna have to worry about some of those runs
that Derek's talking about from Kyler Murray.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Yeah. I think Dallas restores what they were able to
do in a lot of the games that they played
at home with the running game. I know this is
not a defense. It necessarily gives up a lot on
the ground, but I do think Dallas will reestablish itself
with Cooper b b back. I think this a game
gets going. I do think that they're able to pick
up big chunks yards. It may not be traditionally like
you would go down feel forty yards on a pass.

(44:08):
I do think it will be on some crossing routes
where you find an open window, guy gets the ball
on the run and he's off to the races. I
think those are the kind of plays I expect to
see this week. I do expect this to be another
forty point outing for the Cowboys because that's what they
do at home. It just seems like that's what they
do at home. And I do think it's gonna be
a tough day trying to corral Kyler Murray. But I

(44:29):
think Dallas have a little bit more and I think
they win forty thirty eight. All Right, I appreciate you, guys, Jonas.
We'll be back on Tuesday. We'll let you know what
went right and wrong for the Cowboys, and then we'll
have a little bit of a bye week. We'll have
some fun here next week. Until then, for Box Lombardy,
Brian brought us. I'm Derek Hilton. This has been The
Break live on Dallas Cowboys dot Com Radio.

Speaker 1 (44:49):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
