(00:59):

It is a three twenty five kick time Central for
those in the Central time Zone. For those of us
who will be in Denver, the two twenty five kick.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
That's wrong, brown looking like that?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
That's the screen over there, looks funny. Straight turn it
that way. There have there, Derek can move it to
your left so you can see. Thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Sorry, I hope I didn't do that. I don't think
I did, but.

Speaker 8 (01:28):
Probably watched that big old shoulder turning has a big
shoulder turn like.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
Yeah, it's like he walks in he's you know, it's
like West Washington.

Speaker 9 (01:43):
This week there you have to use a microphone on
the show Debate us loud.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
There a lot of a lot of everybody's hands.

Speaker 10 (01:51):
So if I had to bid there and reach back
and smack the hell out the screen of something ahead.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Started clear, trying to get you go forward.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Versus side you go?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Feel good? Now, all right Frell show, here we go.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
So let's jump in. Let's talk about some injuries.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
Trayvon Diggs concussion, did not practice all week. Jerry said
this morning on his show that he's questionable shoddy. On
his show on one A five got through the Fan,
he said he didn't he didn't feel very optimistic that
they were going to have digs.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
What do you hearing, Brian?

Speaker 8 (02:20):
Yeah, I think the later we get in the week,
the more likely you're not going to have him. So
now you have to think about though, how do you
want to play your configuration, and Watch and I were
talking about this morning with each other about with the cornerbacks,
do you when you play man, do you play it
with this guy? And when you play zone do you
play with this guy? So that's the kind of the

(02:40):
adjustment that you're going to have to think about there,
because obviously you have some man players and you have
some zone players. And in this game, as we've talked
about during the week, you know you're probably going to
want to play a little bit more zone coverage, you know,
with that, So with with no digs, I think it's
going to be a question of how you want to
get into that.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
Does that give away too much if you have players
that you're kind of putting on for certain zone versus man?
Does that give away too much.

Speaker 10 (03:05):
With his defense plays. I don't really think it matters.
I think I think the.

Speaker 11 (03:09):
You know, that's not I think you know, I get you.

Speaker 7 (03:12):
I mean, that's not a good answer if you're if
you're rooting for the Cowboys, that's not a great answer.

Speaker 10 (03:16):
I think offense, so I think if we're running man
in our zone configuration, we're gonna look like, all right, Flus,
you're trying to be too cute. This is trying to
be deceptive. You don't have to disguise things. The Broncos
don't really do a whole bunch of high and with
what they do, they're talented, but they don't have I
think flu's if this is where we are and we're
just trying to squeak by and get the best we

(03:37):
possibly can. Sure, man, just roll out what it is.
And if you're going to be in your man set,
you know we he's going to be there. It's going
to depend where Bland is. But in more man Kyrie
elm is going to be on the field planned outside
and these zone looks, I think they trust ready more
in the nickel and then Bland will probably be an
outside guy.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
All right.

Speaker 7 (03:54):
Talk about Donald Wilson as the elbow and the shoulder.
He did not practice either. Uh, talk me about I
guess what you've heard. But then also what happens if
you can't play because you're already down one starting safety?
What happens if he doesn't play?

Speaker 3 (04:08):
You're looking at me like I'm gonna give you a
great answer.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
Yeah, give me a great answer.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
You know what I mean. I want to believe that.

Speaker 8 (04:14):
I want to believe that that Wilson will try and
give this thing a go, but he is dealing with
a couple of things. That he played through the elbow
with a brace the other day. The shoulders now become
a problem as well. Though, you know, I think this
is one of those things where they're trying to get
him uh to to the game and see where they're at.
But you're absolutely right though it it kind of puts

(04:34):
a little bit of some some stress on you know
what you're going to do. You know, whether it's with
the situation we've seen it with Bell. You know, he's
been the guy that's kind of taken over that opportunity
to be so yeah, that this corner spot is is
a little thin right.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Now while you have the migraines.

Speaker 8 (04:53):
Right he did, he did, so I think I think
we'll be okay there. But the other stuff is, like
I say, well, we'll see with with Wilson. We'll get
the designation today. But I kind of got was getting
the hint that they were trying their best not to
practice him and then try and get him to the game.
But like I said, the official designation will be later
on today.

Speaker 7 (05:12):
So talk to me about worst case scenario let's assume
that Donovan can't play. Let's assume one ye can't play.
What do you do at that point, because now you're
down three safeties.

Speaker 10 (05:21):
We got a Syracuse Ricky got Elijah Clark. He's a
guy that's you know, did.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Play a little bit last week, had special teams on
the teams.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
But he's a guy that's versatile.

Speaker 10 (05:30):
And if Lewis wants to do what he normally does,
where he plays the safeties up and down, then Clark
can do that. I think that's one thing that jumped
out on his film in college, Brian that he was
down in the Nickelson down in the box some you know,
tackling run game stuff, and he played deep. I wouldn't
necessarily say that he's a guy that if he's a
center field or he could play sideline and silent. If
he was, he you know, probably would have been drafted.

(05:51):
But he'll probably give you a better feel for a
range cover guy.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Then maybe you know that you'll.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Get don Yeah.

Speaker 8 (05:59):
The thing about it you's got to remember too is
they've got a couple of guys on the practice squad.
I remember they brought back Childress. On Childress, it's kind
of a you know, and so at least it's not
like you're putting him out there and he doesn't know
what is going on. I mean, he was with you
all summer, then he was with the Texans, and then
you know, got released, and you know, you took the
opportunity to jump back on. Julius Woods also is another

(06:21):
guy that he's to me more of a free where
is on the other side, Children's would be more of
a strong But both those guys have been with you,
and so they'll they'll have a clear path of which one, Hey,
do we want to go for a guy that's more
of the back end guy or we want to go
the guy that can play down I Zion Childrens was
really good, and I was surprised that he didn't. I

(06:44):
think initially he did make the team and then got
you know, they moved on and you know, things had
to happen with some roster gymnastics.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
And things like that.

Speaker 8 (06:52):
But at least they've got a couple of guys on
the practice squad that they can elevate that that if
need be.

Speaker 7 (06:58):
Have you guys gotten any sense that they would consider
one of their cornerbacks maybe popping up to safety in
the event because you look at it last week, they
got Wheezy more involved. You got Ready Steward who they've
played some, You got Elam, you got Bland.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Do you think that maybe there's.

Speaker 7 (07:13):
A possibility one of those guys pops back to safety
in the event that, like I said, worst case scenario,
you're down three safeties.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Not at all. I think they're gonna leave those dudes
at corner.

Speaker 10 (07:23):
I think if that was the case, I think the
Cowboys have had opportunity to do it, and instead of
putting a corner at safety, they'll do things like bring
back Julius Wools or they'll bring up you know, Clark.
So don't I don't think that that they'll move a
cornerback around if there is a corner that can go
to safety. Brian mentioned is Zion Childrens. It's kind of
like a box safety guy, you know, but he can't

(07:43):
cover well, so he plays nickel corner, but he can't
tackle also, So that'll be a reason why you would
think about doing it.

Speaker 8 (07:48):
Yeah, to me, if you're talking about you, the question
was when we hear you're right, we were asking is
there a potential corner that you would bring.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Yeah, you know, me if he was healthy, I played Diggs.

Speaker 8 (07:58):
Yeah, and you've said that, but I would I mean,
and this is me, this is me just being radio guys.
Fox likes to say, I got a camera to mic
and I'm sitting here talking and but to me, if
I was if if Dix was healthy, and we're starting
to get corners back and you start to feel good
about well man, maybe Carson can help us a little bit,
you know, We'll look, look what's going on with Bridges.

(08:20):
He's helping us here and oh wow, look at Stuart.
I mean, everybody's you know, and Carson's back.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Look at this. We've maybe found some corners here.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
I see some someone in the chat asking about Kaitlyn
Carson and yeah, are you guys, I know we have
yet to see you know what level he is at
this year, but what are your expectations?

Speaker 12 (08:40):
Are you guys having some type of hope there?

Speaker 10 (08:43):
It'd be incredibly nice if Kayln Carson gave us some hope.
We just we just didn't didn't see him. The best
time to possibly see him is in camp. And in
camp he was hurt for for a little practical way
two days, three days, but for the most part Kayln
Carson was her, You really need one of these young
guys kind of step up and do some Steven Jones
says it all the time, xyz got to step up.
If Caitlin Carson was the guy that we thought he

(09:04):
was in Kyler's brain Forest, yeah, boy, we would be
some smiling characters up here talking about what we got
at corner. But the answer is we just simply don't know.

Speaker 8 (09:12):
Yeah, if all of a sudden Carson was just somehow,
he would play in some games and you were like, wow,
that's a pretty good and then it maybe would give
you the opportunity to think about moving digs and getting
everybody on the field. But until Diggs gets out of protocol,
I mean, we're trying. But the whole thing with Carson
is there's just so much unknown. I mean, I knew
what he was coming out of Wake Forest. I don't

(09:35):
know what he is two years removed from Wake Forest.
I'm sorry, folks, I don't mean to do that to you,
but I really don't. I don't know what to expect.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
To that point.

Speaker 7 (09:43):
Brian, being back to your experience with personnel and watching
guys develop in this steak, have you ever seen a
guy that you had certain expectations for from college and.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
It's well, but I'm just gonna say no.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
But I mean in respect to you. I mean that
it's like.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
It might be and I look to do I'm not
I'm not saying you have to necessarily throw out a name,
but it's more so I think after that game in
Baltimore last year, I think this player lost his confidence
a bit. And so my question is, have you seen
players who you think have talent that have just a
season where things just don't go well for them, they
lose their confidence a bit, and then they're able to

(10:20):
rebound from that and come back and show you what
it was that that you liked about them when they
were coming out.

Speaker 8 (10:28):
It depends on let me throw your name real quickly,
and this is gonna be this is gonna be probably
bad in a way.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Claiborne, I was thinking that.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Yeah, I was seeking, you.

Speaker 8 (10:39):
Know, Claiborne to me And one of the most famous
memes I've ever been a part of was Proud Brian
when he walking by me in that Saint Louis Rams.

Speaker 12 (10:47):
Game, you know, and I'm there's a picture.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
There's the picture. I think it's on it's there. Where's it?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Right right there? It's right there there.

Speaker 8 (10:53):
Yeah, there you go, get it right there, right there,
there we go, proud Brian.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
But see, that's that's the thing.

Speaker 8 (10:59):
It it to me that was a player that played
at a very high level. Tom Siskowski convinced everybody, let's
trade up, and Tommy had an idea. But man, all
of a sudden, the guy got hurt and he started
his confidence and everything.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I mean, you can maybe go back to some.

Speaker 8 (11:17):
Guys like the was there, Mike Jenkins was there, somebody
you know, like that whole crew. They brought in a
bunch of these guys that were high thought of guys,
and then all of a sudden they don't play well,
they lose their confidence, and then they play at a
better a much better level. So yeah, it's it's it's
it happens. It absolutely happens. And especially that position. Always say, oh,

(11:39):
you've got to be able to forget. You know, you
got a you know, a quick quick memory. You got
to get rid of those things. But some of these
guys can't. Somebody, these guys can't get.

Speaker 13 (11:46):
Rid of that.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
I think that sometimes having a different coaches stuff can
help you get a fresh start, quote unquote, because what
you what you've done in the past that doesn't just
magically disappears and still you have a lot of the
same teammates. But at the same time, I think that
hopefully with a different coaching regardless of the situation of

(12:08):
the defense right now, it does give a sense of like, Okay,
let me start fresh from zero. Let me try to
show this new coaching staff what I'm capable of and
hopefully everything that he's watched from the sideline. Just again,
I talk about if you're really passionate about the sport
and this is what you really really want to do,

(12:31):
a different kind of fire is gonna light up inside
of you where you're gonna go out there and try
to give it your best. Were hopefully the mental thing
of it that we keep talking about when he came back,
hopefully that's gone, gone, gone, gone.

Speaker 12 (12:47):
Okay, thank you much.

Speaker 10 (12:48):
Pickings. Maybe you know he's a guy first round pick
Georgia didn't play a whole bunch, but he was highly
touted inaneigh and you know it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Go out there.

Speaker 10 (12:58):
Well, they didn't do a great job putting past was
around him, but it seems like the Pittsburgh. I won't
say fan base because they're going crazy on socials right now,
but Pittsburgh media like ended up being down on him,
right and then Pickens gets here and he's the first
round pick, dynamic dude that we thought he could be
if you just give him a pastor, I think that
could be made.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
I agree with all that. I guess it's more.

Speaker 7 (13:17):
I think more I was thinking more specific to cornerback
and specific more to confidence and losing confidence. Now again,
not not saying I agree with you, I think that
that's the case.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
With Really, he's just nice to hear right now.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
I just I wonder because confidence, for.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
Question, I didn't know my corner actually reminds me that
was a pretty funny bit from the fan yesterday with
y'all show. I mean literally, you say it, and a
few minutes later he says the exact same things a
few minutes later.

Speaker 8 (13:45):
It's like Dawson talks about overshown in the light of
overshow's excited, he feels better, he's jumping, he's doing this,
all this and all that, and then he's talking about
his knee brace. It's just it's just it's we're just
like it's just an accession. It's accessory pop whatever reads
the quote. So like Dawson puts it out there, and
then next thing, you know, like thirty seconds later, he reads.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
The quote, the exact quote.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
I look at It's something to the air. He was like,
look look what I saw, Look what I found.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
You know, Zach, Zach had a history that.

Speaker 8 (14:18):
One time we're interviewing the Rangers general manager and he
asked the question and he goes, well, like I said before,
you know, and Zach's like, you feel terrible, You feel terrible.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
I've been there, I've done it before. You don't listen
to show you got the show?

Speaker 7 (14:31):
All right, let's go and take actually real quick, floy
you take our break. I did want to find out
you mentioned Cooper BB yesterday.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, what are we hearing about him?

Speaker 3 (14:37):

Speaker 8 (14:37):
See this this is a good because everything with Cooper
BEB was going to be about It's going to start
on Wednesday, and then it was going to be to
Thursday and then to Friday. Everything that I've heard so
far has been really positive. The Wednesday practice was good.
Thursday he did more things. They're trying to get him
now Friday, he'll do more things today. But he's he's
trending in the direction of him being available for you

(14:59):
this well.

Speaker 7 (15:00):

it'd be very nice if you can have them. So

your here? What made you smile like that?

Speaker 8 (17:57):
Okay, it's end of the game. If you remember, well,
this this game was like it was tight. It was
it was tough. Des made a big play, but finally,
finally Claiborne had an interception and as he's walking by me,
I was thinking, it's about E F and time.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
That's exactly what was going through my head.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
Look at you that you guys.

Speaker 7 (18:22):
So that's that was man, You're finally making us look good.

Speaker 8 (18:27):

Speaker 8 (18:46):
People post that and I get the point where it
looks uncomfortable, look terrible, but I laugh because I know
how much joy people get out of it.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
The way of the lookings proud Brian. That's it right there,
one of those.

Speaker 5 (18:59):

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Are you all right?

Speaker 12 (19:27):
All right?

Speaker 4 (19:28):
We're gonna start with the word vindicated. What is something someone,
a situation of scenario, something that happened that made you
feel vindicated about this Cowboys team.

Speaker 7 (19:47):
I'd have to go back to last year. I was
saying in training camp last year, this running game is
better than you think it is. Yeah, sure, And and
then we got into the season and it wasn't doing anything.
I was like, I still believed Rico dialed on this
running game is better than you think it is. And
then finally, I don't even remember what week it was,

(20:07):
they finally started running the ball with him after saying
and then he had some success, and I'm like, yeah,
this is what like it's always been there. And I
don't think it was some major I think Brian, I
think you and I were both agreeing on that, like
this guy is good and the offensive line can block for.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
Him, why are you not using him? And then eventually
they did, and I felt vindicated, not.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Even all the way that Rico was good.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
But we know that Rico's good.

Speaker 10 (20:33):
I'm saying not that's not just the fact I'm talking
about vice right now. Yeah, yeah, this dude better than fifteen.
I'll say that. Yeah, this dude is Wait, so can
we could talk about Yeah, Rico did this thing, he
had a thousand yard resh of season with and he
wasn't even getting better than twenty one. But he better
than fifteen. He's definitely one better than fifteen. And I
was just befuddled. It's like, man, it seems like they're
forcing fifteen upon this and it's not like, Okay, well

(20:55):
Rico will go first and get the majority of the
carriers and then fifteen to come. Sometimes fifteen will be
the first out there and you'll get Rico. Sometimes, Cowboys,
we're backwards, but yeah you could be. You can definitely
be told you so guy with that. But I feel
that way about four.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
Please I hear what you're saying, Derek, and share you sharing.
I appreciate you sharing your past experiences, because this is
what it's all about. In order for you to figure
out your present, you gotta heal on the past. But
right now we're focusing on the present, and we're focusing
on this year. So if you don't mind sharing something

(21:29):
that made you feel vindicated those so far.

Speaker 12 (21:33):
About the seat so far, No, I'm not doing it, but.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Denial so much more something, But go ahead, watch let's
move on to you.

Speaker 12 (21:43):
While he processed everything else well.

Speaker 10 (21:45):
Two years ago, thinking about how May MacCarthy was running,
let me say this. That's not to be honest, man.
Let me just say this. People think I'm doing a bit,
people think I'm trying to be funny. I can make
y'all laugh without saying May McCarthy's name. Dak Prescott didn't
just roll out the bend and forget how to play
football one day and you hand over play calling duties.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
This is this is where I was going to go
if we could just think.

Speaker 7 (22:10):
Well real quick, if you're gonna say that, though, you
do have to give my credit for two years ago
because Dak was a m VP candidate. He was like
second in the voting two years ago under Mike McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Let's talk, mister, debate team.

Speaker 5 (22:23):
I'm just asking no, no.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
No, we just have hurt.

Speaker 10 (22:26):
We just the first six weeks of that, the first
six weeks of the CES, it was crap. I'll even
just I'll even just hypothetically, because I didn't work here
at the time. I think that's what Maa McCarthy wanted
to look like.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
I don't.

Speaker 10 (22:39):
I think that's what Maya McCarthy wanted this offense to
look like somebody knocked away.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
He wanted it to look bad.

Speaker 10 (22:44):
Like some some idea of these Dragon concepts, slant flats,
west coast stuff, timing, not down the field, move the chains,
Let Dak just Dnking DK and somebody knocked on his
door and tapped him on the shoulder, and all of
a sudden, this offense got real vertical, real fast. I
watched the film, y'all, so so at least have some

(23:05):
faith in me that I ain't just making stuff up. Okay,
the first six weeks was just dunking down, dunking down,
and then we went crazy vertical all of a sudden.
The next season, when you would think, all right, y'all,
let's build on what we did last week, it was
a whole season of Dragon concepts, slat flash, run up field,
turn around, Dnking and duncan Fair.

Speaker 7 (23:24):
What I'm saying, though, is if you're gonna give him,
if you're gonna ding him for twenty four, which I'm
comfortable with.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
Sure, go ahead, go all in.

Speaker 7 (23:30):
Sure, I think you still have to give him for
however it came about in twenty three, the decision was made,
we're going to do something different they did, and DOAC
play it at an MVP level. It's all I'm gonna
say is, if you're gonna give it, if you're gonna
hit him in twenty four, you gotta give him credit
in twenty three.

Speaker 10 (23:44):
If you the head coach making all the decisions, I don't.
You shouldn't. We shouldn't need you to be knocked on you.
We shouldn't need your door to be knocked on to
make the best decisions for this team. Somebody had to
knock on his door to make the best decisions for
I don't know it's the case.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
I don't, and I know it's the case because the
very next he went right back to what he does.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
And I get it. But I don't think that's always true.

Speaker 7 (24:04):
I think as a leader, sure, the point is you
want to surround yourself with people who are just as
smart as you are, sure, and you want them to
bring ideas to you. That's like, Hey, you're doing it
this way. I actually think this is a better way
to do it. And it takes a good leader to
be able to say, you know what, your way of
doing is better than mine.

Speaker 5 (24:20):
Let's go.

Speaker 10 (24:21):
So if you want to give him credit for the
back half of that season, fine, you can do that.
I'm gonna combine those two seasons together, all right, and
let's just say what the math is. Thirty six games
he was he was being stubborn for seventeen out of
thirty six of those.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
Games, okay, And I do agree with you.

Speaker 10 (24:37):
In twenty two, I think that was wasting Dak Prescott's
That's what I This dude had four and eleven on
his team at the same time and he couldn't.

Speaker 7 (24:44):
Do you think how twenty three ended may have changed
his thoughts on that.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Twenty three like don't give me a number, give me
like what happened.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
In this playoffs the playoff game?

Speaker 7 (24:54):
Oh do you think do you think maybe he looked
at that and said, this exposes my defense too much
to play that style of offer.

Speaker 10 (25:01):
Green Bay was a whole bunch of hitches and slants too,
and we just keep it honest. They opened up in
the in the back half of that game and there
was this forty point surge, but you know that was
garbage time or whatever. But the if you if you
look at Green Bay's biggest plays, it was CD and
uh Brandon Cooks fighting people off of hitches and slants.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
I think Mike McCarthy took this.

Speaker 10 (25:19):
Thing back over and then going back to this last
season and Brian, you say this all the time. If
he's gonna go out, he's gonna go out his way,
and he showed us that's what it was.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
I think he wasted four and eleven and they prime together.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
All right, Brian, you want.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
To that's good. We got good discussion.

Speaker 10 (25:39):
Boy, feel real good since we're talking about but boy,
it's done.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Answering answer your question. I answering your question.

Speaker 10 (25:52):
I feel I feel real good boy now that we
got this, got this play called play called the head coach.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Yeah damn do this whole time.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yeah, No, I'm good man. I thought you guys handled that.

Speaker 13 (26:08):
No.

Speaker 8 (26:08):
Man, you know what, if I was on the chat
right now, I'd be giving you both high five.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
So that was good. That was a good conversation.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
All right, Well we got doc she this segment.

Speaker 12 (26:20):
We will not be doing it again. All right, I'm
trying to see you.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Let's go with a moment where you felt very confident
but tying the cocky a little bit.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Oh, I got it.

Speaker 8 (26:36):
That's some We're gonna lined up to kick that seventy
yard field goal against the Giants.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
I'm like, like, this thing's going over time.

Speaker 8 (26:44):
You know, Like yeah, it is like they like they're
like they score with like twenty seconds left. I'm thinking, well,
Dak's gonna get Dak's gonna get right to midfield. We'll
be okay here, don't worry about this. But yeah, I
was cocky all those things that you want to talk about.
When he lined up to make that kick, I was

(27:05):
not even I'm like, get ready, here we go.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
This thing's going to be tied.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
You know what.

Speaker 7 (27:09):
It's starting to get that point when you talk about
the Cowboys getting the ball and needing points either before
that half or the end of the game. I heard
a stat that Bobby Bobby Belt brought up this morning
on their show. He was saying that there have been
six times this season that a team has gotten the
ball with less than a minute to go in the
half and scored a touchdown. Three of those six have

(27:31):
come from the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are operating at
a level much higher than anybody else in the league
when it comes to that.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
And it is starting to get.

Speaker 7 (27:38):
To a point where there was a time when when
Romo was here, when I felt like that if the
Cowboys got the ball with any amount of time left,
I was like.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
He about to go.

Speaker 7 (27:46):
And I think they're starting to get that now where
you're starting to believe and just feel like when they
get the ball, hey man, I don't care how much
time is left.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I feel like they got a shot if they got
the ball.

Speaker 8 (27:56):
It was a previous time too, when like you get
the ball in the twenty eight and you get act
for minus seven and you would have just let that
clock run out. Yeah, they're like, okay, we're not because
we've all been there too. When they were playing the
game in Washington and Garrett called a pass play, remember
right before they went pick pick six the other way, We're.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
All like, what are we doing here? That kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
So, yeah, all right, a moment that made you feel
the lulu, Brian, do you know what the lulu is?

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Okay?

Speaker 10 (28:29):
I think the Cowboys going in every game and go
to the Super Bowl, So I'm I definitely qualify.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
I'm kind of right that no moment, in no moment,
I think the.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Cowboys are talented enough to win every single game that
they play.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
I'm way too optimist.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
I'm very optimist.

Speaker 10 (28:44):
But you know, you'll you'll go out there and do
what you did versus you know, like the Bills last
year or somewhere San France.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
It happens, you know, just coaches.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
But you genuinely feel that they have they're equipped.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
So I'll get there. I'll say, I like this. I
think I think franchise.

Speaker 10 (29:04):
I think I think franchise quarterbacks changed the entire image
and vibe of your football team. If you have one
of those dudes, you literally are different. You you can
so if Dak and I think Dak's Dek's been been
a top tier guy for the past like seven years,
so like like since they traded for Mari maybe like
two years after that. I think Dak has been top
tier since then, and you know, getting better as an

(29:26):
older man. But I think if you have one of
those dudes, I think you can win any football game
now if your defense gives up points, if coaching blunders happen,
if you you know, if you don't do you know,
penalties and things like that, you can lose games that way.
But going into any game, Buffalo last year, can City
some years before that, any good team. I feel like

(29:46):
the Cowboys can beat them. The Lions this year can't sit.
I think they can beat them. It just depends on
stuff around it, you know what I mean. So I
do think that.

Speaker 7 (29:53):
Yeah, I'm even more delusion than that. I just honestly
I will find a way to talk myself into whatever
I want to have. I know, i'd really do, like
in every part of my life my life. My wife
is like, that's actually a great thing because it keeps
us from we never get indulgenums because I'm just like,
it'll all work out, it's fine, and so I just
live like that. So when I do this kind of stuff,
like I always find myself in situations where I'm like,

(30:15):
it'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
The defense ain't that bad. I mean, like you know
they got they got a sack last week. I mean
they can.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Earn one next week.

Speaker 7 (30:24):
Seriously, Like I just I tend to think glass half
full all the time, and it makes me way overly
like I simplify everything that it's fine, it's all gonna
be okay.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
So so yeah, I'm delusional a lot.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
I might be delusional about digs.

Speaker 10 (30:40):
I might be that's some prime loser right there, that's
drugs right there.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
I'm with Bryan.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
I actually, you know, I'm the I'm the I'm the
you need to keep him guy.

Speaker 8 (30:50):
I mean, like you're gonna need him to okay, vich
I see over there, you don't have to.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Just sigh anymore.

Speaker 5 (30:58):
We know what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
I know I'm delusional. I'm delusional, you know. And my
delusion is that I think he's one of your better players.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
I really do.

Speaker 8 (31:07):
I think that when you know, when when he when
he's on, he can cover, he can make plays, he
can defend the ball when he wants to tack. I
watched him a game against Cincinnati, a third down player,
fourth down play, make back to back tackles to get
him off the field. But he he hurts me sometimes too,
because he does. There's sometimes he doesn't do all these things.

(31:28):
So I'm delusional believing that he could be that player,
you know. I I and and maybe maybe here he's
not going to be that player. Maybe maybe there's just
too many things circling around him. It will never allow
him to be the delusional player I think he'll be.

Speaker 10 (31:43):
So this is me finishing up this acting like Derek,
like if like, let's just say, boy. In the first
few weeks, he was looking how you look. He's just
recovering from his you know, from the situation. He just
had to get his feedback under me. Maybe towards the
end of the season, he's going to be that guy
that got to live and picks a couple years ago.
I'm going to jail if that's the case, Like, give
me up out of here. If Bigs turns back the

(32:04):
clock and turns into that dude again and the Cowboys
gonna make a trade for some character on the West
coastman and picks up boy.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
But that's how I get.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Really, you flipped again. Yesterday you said no trade. Today
you're watching trade trade, trade off your mind.

Speaker 7 (32:23):
I want you all over the mountain literally every day.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
I'm curious what you raised your voice. I can hear you.

Speaker 12 (32:33):

Speaker 11 (32:35):

Speaker 5 (35:51):
We are in the final segment.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Welcome back.

Speaker 7 (35:54):
I'm still emotionally recovering from that last segment, so we
got have some questions now. This segment is brought to
you a BYuT blockchain dot Com. All right, let's talk
Denver versus Dallas. My first question for you guys is
Dallas had its four to lowest points scored in its
four road games they've had the season. They scored twenty
against Philly, fourteen against Chicago, which was the slowest of

(36:15):
the season, thirty seven against the Jets, good day, twenty
seven against Carolina. Do you think it's a coincidence or
do you think those teams defenses presented more problems for Dallas.

Speaker 10 (36:25):
I think sometimes when you're on the road, you just
make some more mistakes. You know, some things just don't
always go your waste some time. But this offense still
gets busy on the road, and I think that the offense,
even in those situations, they've put up enough points to
win those games.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
You know, we just need the other side of the ball.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
Cheffer maybe fourteen against Chicago, that's debate.

Speaker 10 (36:42):
A part it recept of Chicago. See what Chicago it
was different because they held the ball so long. They
didn't they didn't give the Cowboys offense time to operate.
So I don't even think that was like mistakes. They
just did a great job keeping it away from us.
But when you're at home, you can hear, you can communicate,
you can move guys around, hey, come on, Like they
don't even say like football technical words. He'll just say, oh,

(37:04):
right there, cd oh, come over here, you know what
I mean. And it's just much more comfortable, as much
more chilled. They play music like they dancing together. So
it could be something to that, but I still think
that the offense is good enough wherever they are real quick.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
I see people talking about the noise and just fy,
I like the way that Brian Schottenheimer practices with these guys.
I mean it is so loud. It is the loudest
I've ever heard any practices with any other coach, Like
it's insane. So just so you know, like they practice

(37:36):
like that all the time with just an extremely amount
of noise going on. Obviously different than game day, but
they're equipped to go out there and practice the noise,
right yeah.

Speaker 8 (37:47):
Yeah, I mean going into this game that you start
to talk about, I think that your quarterback and your
play caller have an understanding on the same page. I
think that he Taylor's game plans now to kind of
combat some things. They the Jets thing, you know, going
on the road there that you mentioned the Carolina one,
I think was just unfortunate because you just got run on.

(38:08):
You know, that was really kind of a defensive thing.
I think offensively you were playing well enough. You didn't
run the ball like you needed to. But I just
feel like that maybe this play caller has an understanding
of how he needs to play these games. I know,
when we were breaking it down this week, we're talking about,
you know, possibly first down passes, second down runs, you know,
those kinds of things to try and keep, you know,

(38:30):
to play away from Denver strength.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
So to me, when you go on the road, you
got to be able.

Speaker 8 (38:35):
To communicate one but you got to have a play
caller that understands how the game needs to be called.
And I think this guy will be okay for that
this weekend.

Speaker 7 (38:42):
Next question, Dallas's offensive passing offense when they've been one
hundred percent this year has been almost unstoppable. Almost every
game that offense from a passing standpoint has been really,
really good. Do you think there is a weakness to
this passing offense? If they're one hundred percent.

Speaker 10 (38:59):
The shot that you have is to deal with the
offensive line.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I guess that's.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
But when Dak's playing like he's playing.

Speaker 10 (39:08):
So I'm having a nitpick, right, you know, I don't
like you. I don't think a team has the amount
of corners to just match up with the guys that
we have. If you decide to play zone, then Dak
mentally can deal with that. Right So to beat the Cowboys,
think about Green Bay in the playoffs, like they were
able to beat us offensively because they guys just couldn't

(39:29):
get open. You would bully Ceede Lamb a little bit
and just the other guys couldn't win the one on
one matchups. Good luck to you trying to keep Cowboys
from winning one on one matchups. Right now, if you
listen to sounds of the sideline, shout out to everybody
that's involved in that, like Alex but Ceedee Lamb said
it on the sideline, like, hey man, they gonna try
to run some man against us. You don't want to
do that. If you do it, then that's what we want.

(39:50):
Right So the Cowboys are are a man whooping team.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (39:53):
The only just me nitpicking. The only way is if
Dak is having a bad day, operating pressure in front
of him, maybe you can either when Gap exchanges in
the middle with the with the guards, you could just
flat out beat the tackles with you know, power and
speed or something like that.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
But even Dak knows how to hand let them get
rid of all quickly bad days.

Speaker 8 (40:10):
On the offense, it's usually and I hate to say this,
it's steel or guiding and and and it's unfortunate because
they get left one on one seventy five eighty percent
of the time. You know, they don't get they don't
get a lot of double team help out there tackles,
and if if things are going to be wonky on offense,
it's probably gonna be because they didn't do a good
enough job at the tackle spot.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
Yeah, don't I hate that you mentioned that because it
just feels like you jink sent it, your yins in it.

Speaker 12 (40:40):
Derek, I don't like it. I like to stay grounded.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
I don't like to you know, like some of it'll
be fun. But but I will say, like, as you
ask that question, and these guys were talking about it, like,
it's hard to come up with something in my mind
that I feel like they wouldn't be able to deal with,
like go up against and fight and still find success

(41:05):
in scoring enough points.

Speaker 12 (41:07):
So that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
I haven't felt like that with this offense in a
little while because before not to bring back my car.
But it all came down again to the play calling
then and in.

Speaker 12 (41:18):
Some of the ways that was utilized.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
And I feel like Schottenheimer he continues to improve in
the play.

Speaker 12 (41:24):
Calling this year. Week by week. I think he's continue
to get better.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
And let me tell you some hold on, Derek, I'm sorry.

Speaker 12 (41:31):
I no, no, no, I was talking again.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
I was talking to Brian about this.

Speaker 12 (41:35):
What's the next question.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
I'm not gonna bring.

Speaker 10 (41:36):
Buddy up, but I was talking to Brian about this
and shout out of my guy Will still I talked
to him about this too. This feels like one of
those games to where past cowboy coaches will kind of
get beat up on a little bit, to where it'll
this defense that you just can't crack and you're just
gonna go out there with less of a plan and
get out out physical to not have a counter to

(41:57):
what the Broncos defense is gonna throw or whatever. Lesser
coaching administrations, this will be a game where you get smoked.
It's I think I believe in shot in this situation
because just hearing the dude talk, Clayton Adams talk, Dak talk,
I think they got a plan and a backup plan,
and a backup plan to the backup plan.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
Yeah, I can't say past administration had that.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (42:18):
I don't know if Nick said it on his show,
but he was telling me this league.

Speaker 7 (42:21):
He was like, I got a feeling they're gonna go
up there and put some smash, but you like, I
don't know if he went live with it.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
I just went live with his opinion. But uh, I
will see.

Speaker 7 (42:30):
But but that's not the first time I heard somebody
say they feel like that's gonna be this kind of game.
I don't know if I feel that confident in it,
because I here's the thing. I think when you look
at this matchup, so it's really the first time that
this Dallas offense is going to be truly tested where
you're playing a defense that really in all three levels
of their defense, they got talent and they can play

(42:52):
and uh and I think that's gonna be where I
get I will be able to learn a lot from
this game because if Dallas goes to Denver and puts
up a ton of points, then I'm like, they can
play against any defense in the league and they gonna
put up points. There's no defense I can shot shut
them down. If they are one hundred percent they will
be successful offensively. Then it's just a matter of and
it might be the impetus I need personally, not that

(43:15):
I make the call on this, to say, okay, let
me get a little bit more helpful my defense, because
I feel like my offense can play against anybody. If
I can get one or two extra stops a game,
I can go as far as I can go.

Speaker 5 (43:26):
You know, I can go all the way two games.

Speaker 10 (43:28):
That makes me feel that way, right green Bay? I
think Green Bay threw everything that they could at you
on defense, and that was a front that was much
better than yours and not as good as Denver and
not as the Sure But the Cowboys account for that.
Now Denver doesn't have a Michael Parsons though, but the
Cowboys account for the idea that upfront, the Packers are

(43:48):
going to give us problems with the rush, and they
dealt with the rush and one more game. The Jets
aren't the best team in this thing. But there's a
lesson in every bar what happens when you down. When
you are down, most of your offensive lineman four of them. Yeah,
and there's a superstar corner over there, Rushow superstar receiver
George Big has only had two catches for fifty some
yards and a touchdown, though, But this offense showed me

(44:12):
we're gonna run the football and get flow nine catches.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
I got faith in them over there. I got faith
in those guys over there.

Speaker 5 (44:18):
Yeah, all right, so let's get predictions. What do you
guys think is going to happen this Sunday. I assumed that.

Speaker 10 (44:22):
I'm a little man gonna beat the hell out of
the Broncos something crazy.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
But I say, thirty five, thirty two.

Speaker 8 (44:29):
All right, they haven't played a quarterback like this one.
They show they've They've played the Chargers in Philadelphia, probably
the best that they've faced this year. You know, what
we saw with with the Colts was very very early
in the year. I just don't think Denver's played a
quarterback in an offense like this. And I think that
when I when they were when we got the schedule out,

(44:49):
it was win loss, win loss. We played that game.
I had this one as a loss. I didn't know
how good your offense was going to be like this.
Your defense, I think there's some things that still are
a little bit work in progress, as they like to say,
But I just think Dallas's offense, the quarterback play. You
have the clear advantage here at quarterback, and I think
he makes the difference in this game. Give me Dallas

(45:09):
twenty eight the Denver Broncos twenty four.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
That's what I had, twenty eight twenty four Cowboys. But
I will say the one thing that does give me
pause is going back to last time we went over there.

Speaker 12 (45:22):
I remember, and I haven't.

Speaker 4 (45:24):
Gone back to lookout exactly the situation, but if my
memory serves me well, the Cowboys, the Cowboys were a
decent team, like they were good. This is back when
SEEK was still playing with the team. They were good,
and then we went there to Denver and then no one,
absolutely nobody played well in that game. There might be

(45:44):
one person, one player, I don't remember. That was a
horrible game, but it was over bad for everyone. So
that's one of the things that I'm just like, ugh, Granted,
I feel better about this offense than that one at
the time, but at the same time, I'm like, Okay,
maybe even though I still think they'll still win, maybe
it kind of slows them downward.

Speaker 12 (46:04):
They don't look.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
As great, but still they have everything that they need
to be capable of winning.

Speaker 12 (46:11):
This game, all right.

Speaker 7 (46:12):
I think this is going to be a very close game,
as a lot of the games have been this year.
I think this is going to be a game where
ultimately it's going to be decided.

Speaker 16 (46:21):
By the kicker.

Speaker 5 (46:22):
Sure, and I think it's going to be some dramatics.

Speaker 12 (46:24):
I think in that I forget, what is that in
the altitude? Is it better or worse?

Speaker 8 (46:28):
Better?

Speaker 12 (46:29):
An error is thin?

Speaker 3 (46:30):
It might make a seventy five years.

Speaker 7 (46:31):
I think it's going to be some dramatics in this game.
I think he's going to break an NFL record with
the length of the kick that he's going to make.
But I think that's how they're going to win the game.
Give me thirty three twenty eight, but it's going to
be a close game and ultimately they're going to win. Uh,
They're going to win it at you know, at some
point because of a really.

Speaker 5 (46:50):
Really long kick.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Shout out to the EBS.

Speaker 7 (46:53):
Yeah, I don't know why we got a shout out today,
but thanks appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (46:58):
I'm just saying I show people, Okay, fre send it.

Speaker 5 (47:01):
All right, we are done for the week.

Speaker 7 (47:03):
