Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, lady, I don't know about you, but the top
of this year, I was in a place where I
was trying to let go of a relationship that was
not serving me anymore. And I'm gonna be real with you, Okay.
This was coming off the hills of what I like
to call domin I talked about this on the podcast
an eventful whole phase. Okay. I had been exploring and experimenting,
(00:21):
and had been outside dating, doing all the things, and
I reached a point where my spirit was like, all right, lady,
it's time to come back home. Time to sit yourself down, okay.
And I wanted to right. I wanted to choose alignment.
I wanted to choose clarity. I wanted to choose myself.
But wanting it and living it, those are two different things.
So this year brought up some challenges I think for
(00:43):
many of us right when we think about what's happening
in the world. When I think about some of the
patterns that I found myself in and some of the
truths I wasn't expecting to face. I found myself in
a space of trying to release things that had been
tied to my identity and my coping and my sense
of comfort, give you my idea of love and intimacy.
And so today we're going to talk briefly about that
(01:05):
and talk about what we're releasing in this year so
that we can walk into twenty twenty six and how
we can actually release things in a way that lands.
So I'm going to pass it over to Dom to
share our quote of the day and some of the
exciting updates before we jump into this conversation.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
All right, so our quote of the day. To become
who you're becoming, you have to be willing to release
who you were. I'm gonna say that one more time
for the folks in the back to make sure you
hurt it. To become who you're becoming, you have to
(01:43):
be willing to release who you were, all right, all right,
so you know how we do. So when you hear
that quote and think about what we're trying to do
and why we're having this bonus episode, what comes up
(02:03):
for you? Girl?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I'm a visual person, so as you were stating that,
I'm thinking about what that looks like in the physical
So outside of the becoming part, I'm thinking about like
the drawers in my room, right and getting new clothes.
If I want to get more clothes, my drawers are
already full. I have to take some stuff out. I
got to let some stuff go. I have to release
it so I can make space for what's to come.
And so when I think about it from that perspective,
(02:27):
it makes sense. But thinking about it from a human
perspective of like, oh my gosh, there are parts of
me that I need to release in order to be
open to this new version. It sounds scary. It sounds scary,
it sounds daunting, and yeah, that's what comes up to me.
That's what comes up for me when I hear that quote,
what about you? What comes up for you?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
I think what comes up for me is the idea
that growth has to happen and that we're all on
a journey, and that part of that growth doesn't always
feel good. But in order to get to the sweet spot,
(03:10):
to get to the good stuff, you have to go
through things like it's not gonna come in super easy.
And so I think the other piece that comes up
for me is thinking about like, again, the point of
this bonus episode is to talk about being in community,
(03:31):
because I know that oftentimes the healing that we need
the growth that we need doesn't happen solely when we're alone.
That for a lot of us, particularly as black women,
we need to be in community. And so that's why
(03:55):
we're talking about that's why we're having this bonus episode
today to bring you too, opportunities for you to be
in community. So see, you want to tell them about
the first.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
One, let's do it. So, lady, we are hosting a
virtual sleepover. Okay, we had our live event two years ago,
our live event in Oakland that was so amazing and
time has been flying. You We're like, Okay, we want
to meet with our people again, but we know that
everyone isn't in the bay. And if this is your
first time listening to the episode, you are welcome to
come through, but also go check out our episodes that
(04:30):
are longer, because this is not really the vibe of
all our episodes. This is a bonus episode. We want
to share with you what's going on. So during this
virtual sleepover, we will have different activities. You can come
and bring your pajamas, your journals, your favorite drinks, and
we're going to be reflecting on the year in a
very intentional way and we'll be figuring out what we
want to call in in twenty twenty six. So it's
(04:51):
going to be gentle guided and so full of love
and good energy and good vibes. And if you are
in a space where that sounds appealing to you, you
definitely want to check it out. Okay, it's going to
be on November tenth at six pm Pacific time. That
should be nine pm Eastern time. So come on out
with us, lady. We would love to have you there,
and we're gonna share with this information later. But you
(05:12):
can visit herspacepodcast dot com or visit us on Instagram
at her Space podcast to click the links center bio
for both events. And then Don's gonna tell us about
the second event.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
So yes, our second event, specifically for those who are
in the Bay area and can meet with us in person,
we are having our eleven eleven Manifestation height on Tuesday,
November eleventh at eleven eleven am. And so again this
(05:46):
is in the Bay Area and it's for those who
live locally or if you want to travel in, come on.
We welcome that too, and it will occur specifically in
San Francisco. Go on this manifestation hike. We are going
to breathe together. We are gonna move through nature together.
(06:09):
We will take a moment to write and release some things,
let some things go again in community and so we
will have more details on the link if you click
her Space podcast dot com and we want you to know, like,
if you're listening and you're like, yep, that's exactly where
(06:30):
I need to be, then listen to yourself and come
and join us again. That's herspacepodcast dot com. Or you
can click our bio on our Instagram page at her
Space podcast.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
All right, now, let's get into a little teaser on
what you can expect at the Virtual Sleepover. Okay, we're
all about reflection. If you've been listening to the podcast,
you know we love a good journal intry. Okay, so
we have some questions that we want you to consider.
So one of the questions is what have I been
caring that no longer fits who I'm becoming? All Right?
(07:11):
The second question is where in my life am I
still trying to hold on even though I know it's
time to let go. Is it a job, is it
a relationship? Is it a habit? Okay, see what comes
up for you. And then the last question here is
what is my spirit quietly asking for right now? Ooh child, Okay.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Listen, I'll tell y'all, I'll be honest. In this very moment,
I don't know what my spirit, my spirit is asking
for rest Okay, my spirit is asking for some sleep. Yeah,
and so, but that that's not necessarily what my spirit
generally asks for in in a general in a general
(08:00):
every day since right, but in this specific moment, and so, lady,
we want you to also think about that, right that
as you show up in that space, in the sleepover space,
that the questions that we're asking may be what's coming
up for you in that specific moment, how you are
(08:20):
showing up at that specific moment in time, or it
could be something that you've been holding for a long
time that you've been needing the space to release. You know,
as they say in some of the old school churches,
(08:40):
come as you are, and so we want you to
join us in this sleepover as you are in that moment.
We recognize that some of you, depending on where you
are in the country at the time that you'll join us,
some of you may be having dinner, some of you
(09:01):
may already be in your pajamas down, all the kids
are down, and you're winding down for the night. However
you are showing up, we want you in the space.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yes, and lady, don't worry about things being awkward or
please don't overthink and they like, oh, I don't know
anyone there, like I don't know if I want to
show up for the heiight go to sleepover. We literally
exude the same vibe that we have on the podcast
in person. It's a safe space. We're going to have love,
good energy, we'd like to say, kind girl energy. So
come on out. If you are seeking community, if you
(09:39):
are seeking sisterhood, if you are seeking authentic women who
get you or are open to getting you, this is
the place for you. So again, herspacepodcast dot com will
add some links in the show notes for you as well,
or you can visit our Instagram at her Space podcast

we hope to see you there for the virtual sleepover,
and if you're in the Bay area or want to
