(00:02):
Hello, mister and missus Brookings Harbor and all
the fishing boats at sea. I'm cousin Bruce
Ellis. And I'm Kat Liddell.
And this is the Insider Report. So let
your ears do the walk in as we
fill you in on what's going on in
the Brookings Harbor area and beyond.
Well, hello. Hello. Hello. And welcome to this
week's show that keeps you in the know.
Hello, Kel. Welcome back. Did you have a
(00:23):
nice little trip? Yeah. I had a great
week up in, up in the the Bellingham,
Washington area. Just hanging out with a friend
up there.
And, oh my gosh, I realized it wasn't
until, I was, like, at border crossing. Like,
I haven't been out of the country since
I was, like, 17 years old. Oh, yeah.
So, yeah, I spent a day in in
Vancouver, and it was super, super cool. Yeah.
Yeah. I got to go to this, oh,
this awesome restaurant called East is East up
(00:45):
there in Vancouver
that, like, takes you essentially on a journey
of the Silk Road from Greece all the
way to Nepal. Oh, wow. Like and it's
a tasting menu. Right? So you get, like,
two bites in but you have the opportunity
to essentially, like, taste everything on the menu.
One of the best meals of my entire
life. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Couple of things
you probably would, hey. I'll have some more
of that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right? No. So
so I mean, so a lot of food
that I'm familiar with, but they just do
(01:06):
it so like, all across all types of
cuisine so so well. There was, like, a
violinist there that was, like, trying to serenade
me. And I was, like, kinda, like, oh,
you're in my personal space. Nope. Nope. I
forget that. Your music is excellent. I was
just, like, I was not expecting this
as I sat down to my meal. Right.
I'll put it right up in your face.
Right. I'm saying hello there, violinist. Yes. Yeah.
But it was a good time. Yeah. It
was a I had a I had a
(01:27):
blast. I went, like, boutique shopping, like, on
on Main Street over there. Yeah. Hung out.
Just had a great time all around. Yeah.
Right. Right on. Hi. Yeah. You stayed up
there a few days then, didn't you? Yeah.
Yeah. That was my, like, I need some
rest and relaxation. After all the things we
did in a week. Yep. Post show, like,
vacation. Yeah. Just to myself to to unwind
for a second. Yes. Absolutely. Well, Jason came
(01:48):
in and filled in, so we had a
I heard he did a yeah. He did
a good job. Oh, good job. We did
great. We had a good time. Yeah. Very
cool. Very cool. I'm glad he was there.
We're trying to let Dave in here. So
And you got a fishing report. Yeah. I
know. Okay. Okay. It was a bonus. Yeah.
Excellent. Excellent. Sounds like you guys were just
fine. Yeah. We did. I'm you having fun,
so that's always a good Yeah. Well, how
have things been for you and Junior? Doing
(02:09):
good. Doing good. Still, same old, same old.
I mean, you know, this this yeah. That's
it. I mean, getting the paper together and
all that good stuff. And,
I like a junior's if I can do
his own thing. You know? And so he's
not wanting to run around all over the
place, and plus the world is trying to
get like this. Because I really am spending
a lot of time on the computer between
the this, that. And then, like I said,
the script is coming along like, fabulous.
(02:31):
Oh my gosh. I'm loving it. Good. It's
going so good. So, yeah, I've been just
working on that on my extra time, you
know, and stuff. Little that I have, but
I like to make take advantage of it
when I got. I can't help it. I'm
just, like, on a roll. So I I
will have this done by, I'm thinking I
will have it, done by January. Well, if
you keep plugging away at it, it sounds
like you'll have a draft. Yeah. I think
(02:52):
so. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm really feeling
confident about it too. It's coming along nicely.
I keep
keep coming over funnier things all the time.
Say, then you just keep adding. Hair texture.
Yeah. What I do, that's my four that's
my, the way I write is I write
it down. Everything get down, get it, like,
thing going. Mhmm. And then I'll go back
after about, you know, like, 10 scenes, and
then I'll go back at the beginning again
(03:13):
and then start filling in, you know, okay.
I wanted to say this or I wanna
do this. You know? I'll I'll do, like,
10 scenes at a time, then I can
move on. You know? So, you know, but
at least it stays yeah. I'm I'm even
organized when I write like that, but it's
like, gosh. It's so much fun. I'm having
a great time with this project, so it's
gonna be great. And people are gonna love
it when it's done, so it's gonna it's
gonna be fun. So, anyways but that's it.
(03:33):
Yeah. I hope you all had a good
weekend. And before we get going on, seriously,
we've been barely cutting it out every week
on these shows. We've had so much going
on. So I'm just gonna go ahead,
which is great. A lot going on in
November. Yeah.
So, hey, I wanna thank the Oregon South
Coast Fisherman, otherwise known as the Castaways, and
Oregon Coast VIP Marketing for sponsoring the insider

It's all you, buddy. Enjoy.

He goes, if you're going through hell, keep
going.
Attitude is a little thing that makes a
big difference. And last but not least, famous
words, we shall defend our island. We shall

right.

Love, health, prosperity, enlightenment day. So there you

cool. Well, there you have it. Alright. Well,
(14:15):
hey. Now it's time for a bit of
real history with Bushwacker Bruce. Right. Good day,
cat. Good day, mates. Bushwacker Bruce here, and
welcome to this week's real history for your
knowledge pleasure. Did you know that Bruce Lee
once had a controversial fight with different versions
of the outcome?
It's true, and here's the story. He's always
been known as the man who took everybody
(14:36):
ever fought out, but this story is a
fight between Bruce Lee and Wong Jackman.
It's a tale of two competing martial art
philosophies with different outcomes and differing interpretations.
Most witnesses and accounts point to Bruce Lee's
victory while Wong Jackman's
supporters claim a draw or win. The fight
is considered a pivotal moment in Bruce Lee's
(14:57):
evolution as a martial artist. Here are the
viewpoints from both fighters. On Bruce Lee's side,
Lee reportedly won the fight quickly after a
series of fast punches in his struggle.
Some accounts say Lee chased Wong and ultimately
defeated him, forcing Wong to submit.
The fight lasted just a few minutes. Wong
Jackman
was supposedly demoralized and had his ego bruised
(15:18):
by Lee's victory.
On Wong Jackman's side, Wong claimed that he
was able to hold his own against Lee
for a longer period, and the fight ended
when it was stopped by others who feared
for their safety.
Wong's supporters say he was able to hold
off Lee and prevent him from winning. Well,
some
accounts claim that Wong was able to hold
Lee in a headlock several times during the
fight. Wong also said that he was able
(15:40):
to hold his own in the fight by
forcing Lee into a stalemate
and that the fight was a draw. So
you got two different opinions on it right
there. This was supposed to be done.
I hope you enjoyed this week's Better Real
History with yours truly, Bushwacker Bruce. Till next
time. Hey. Always keep it real.
(16:04):
This was supposed to be done at his
when I did his quotes. I gotcha. Remember
those? We got too many. We had We
just been so packed with so many things
going on. I can't tell you what. Some
more stuff here too. Right? Well, there you
have it. Okay. We got there eventually.
Here's our extra stuff. Right? Yeah. It's earning
our attention. We have some, some other events

on wheels looking for you. By delivering a
(20:17):
hot meal to those who are home ridden,

but you also bring a bit of kindness
into their lives, a friendly face for them
to see every day, and a little social
contact they may not have otherwise.
There are three routes that deliver hot meals
to about 60 seniors on a daily basis.
Each route takes about one and a half
hours. You can volunteer by the day, the

child to get involved with That's right. That's
who you contact. Uh-huh. Yep. Mhmm. I was
just standing there going, that could be me
and Junior Man helping out.
(22:04):
Just keep guilt tripping him. It's fine. It's
fine.
Oh,
I'm so sorry.
Yeah.
I am kind of bummed about that, but
we'll get her eventually. I'll get them. Hopefully,
you'll get interested in it. Yeah. Uh-huh. And,
like, I got more to put on my
plate. Yeah. Okay. So, hey, the American Red
Cross, Curry County blood drive is going on.
The need for blood is constant, and sometimes
(22:25):
that need becomes critical. Mhmm. That's why the
American Red Cross needs you. You can make
