Aanhoudende belasting met graspollen. Grassen bloeien en brengen hun zeer sterk allergeen stuifmeel of pollen in de lucht. Na de Grote vossenstaarten die in het hele land in bloei te zien zijn geweest en soms nog wat nabloei vertonen, zijn nu overal Kropaar en Glanshaver in bloei. Glanshaver, een gras dat veel in bermen en op dijkhellingen staat, valt op door zijn goudgele gloed, zeker als de zon schijnt. Daarnaast staan diverse Beemd- en Zwenkgrassen te bloeien. Uit dit laatste geslacht zie je op droge, zandige bermen Hard zwenkgras. In de duinen vertoont Helm nu zijn aren.
