Science at the Fair is een onderzoeksproject aan de Universiteit Antwerpen, gecoördineerd door Nele Wynants, gefinancierd door de Europese Onderzoekscommissie (ERC) in het kader van het onderzoeks- en innovatieprogramma Horizon 2020 van de Europese Unie (subsidieovereenkomst nr. 948678 - SciFair).
Op de kermis lijken de attracties elk jaar wilder en groter te worden. Fun fun fun! Dat was 150 jaar geleden héél anders. Toen stonden kermissen ook voor plezier maken, maar niet alleen... Je kon op kermissen toen vooral ook veel leren! Professor Nele Wynants is theaterwetenschapper aan de UAntwerpen en coördinator van het project Science at the fair en neemt ons mee naar toen (en naar het Huis van Alijn, in Gent). Ze legt ons uit waarom mensen op de kermis soms meer leerden dan op school.
