Speaker 1 (00:32):
I don't think so there are twenty fourth.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
I heard it was the twenty third and twenty fourth,
so it's the twenty fifth right now.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
If we're not up there, we we ain't we ain't winning.

Speaker 1 (00:44):

to you right now, but I'm gonna do it anyway because.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I have been raptured, unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, yeah here here.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Roger is awesome. Oh he doesn't like going by God.
It turns out it's Roger. Oh it's Roger. Roger. Yeah,
like Roger all those other names, just not a big fan,
it turns out. Yeah. Also, Bacon cool cool, you can
eat it.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Oh, Bacon's okay, Yeah for sure, Bacon Coli pig footed
different fabrics or whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Uh, it depends. No nylon and polyester.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
You can't do a blend no blends. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
It's a lot of rules from Roger that I thought
he would have written down.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
But they would have written it, and he.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Must not have been reading it. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's all written down. There's a
whole book. There's several.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
It's a several parts series. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah, uh, it's it's been just a world win week.
Also Roger Great at street Fighter six plays on this. Yeah,
what's their mame? Were you? Of course?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Okay, oh oh oh oh he's not moving, but that's
a very there he goes there.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Okay, I told you there was a bit of a backup.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
I to tell you.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Gosh, I feel great. A weight lifted right over here.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Who didn't make it to heaven?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh my man, maybe Roger oh get Oh I know
my rogh Rode. Oh my ch I've learned so much
and such a small time. Feeling good.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
What.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I really didn't see this one coming. I've heard about
the Rapture before, but man, boom, Luckily I was wearing
my Rapture hat with the handle on it, So I
just got wasna the.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Same Brian I heard about, like, don't hold on to anything.
What do you get? Do you get sucked up without clothes?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Look, I put some clothes on just for the podcast,
because you know, I am a man of roge.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
So and then if you happen to if you look
down at someone's wiener while are you being ascended, do
you get put back down?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Good question didn't come up for me.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Uh. Literally, there's nothing wrong with nudity. Okay, it's the ludity.
That's what you got.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
If you look at it and go yeah, I mean,
I mean.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I'm only wearing this shirt briar.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
So, Yeah, it seems pretty open minded. Honestly, he seems
pretty cool. I haven't asked Man specifically about the nudity,
but I mean I can't imagine he's roch.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Oh Man, Well, well we made in the comments if
you made it or if you didn't.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
It's It's interesting that I have such good internet access
here too. I was really surprised. I thought, well, that's interrupted.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
As you can see, this is all this wi fi
ight actually behind us. I'm familiar with the way we
have the newest it's not been rolled out yet.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, I had FIB now have fib audio there. Well,
you know we have a lot of elbow room. I
mean France right here, you can see right. Anyhow, we
should talk about some video games. Speaking of just being
in heaven, I know Watts, I tried to watch you
play Silent Hill f I noped out. I couldn't even

(04:46):
watch you play. Yeah really, wow, yeah, frand you've been playing.
You just told me what you were playing. I already forgot.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Oh no, I just said I beat Bonanza, which we
could Bonanza.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
We'll hear about the Fernanza. That's right.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I think people could wait, that's been a few months out.
I don't think people dying to hear about d K Bananza.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I don't I want to hear what you think about Kanana.
I had the kind of mixed thoughts on that game.
I have been playing street Fighter six with Roger on
the switch. The switch is a weird experience to play
street Fighter six on because of the controls. You know,
you don't have a D pad on a switch. It's
kind of weird, do you not? And then we forgot

(05:28):
to talk about Metroid Prime for last week, which I
can't believe because it was literally all that was on
my mind all week because of that motorcycle.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
I had wrote it down briefly in my little you know,
inner show notes. But yeah, we didn't get there because
we squeezed in Eldon Ring.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
That was the trade off. It's worth it.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, But yeah, I'd say I'd love to hear about something.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Laugh.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah, I'd like to hear about that too.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Is that okay, Roger?

Speaker 4 (05:56):
There be the true story as to why I'm not
allowed in there because women ain't allowed.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Apparently that's not true, right, plenty of you see him.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
If it's based on nineteen sixties Japan, I'm not allowed
to go out there nobly, so Silent Hill f I
just finished my first playthrough. I'll explain why I'm doing
more than one play through in a bit, but yeah,
so I did. It was I got nineteen hours playtime.

(06:31):
It is a game. If you're unfamiliar, it's set in
nineteen sixties Japan, and it's a It was a lot
of themes going on, and I won't really understand fully
the story until I do more playthroughs, but the basic
themes are that you are a you're a girl who
is right at the point where you're now becoming a woman,
trying to be a proper woman. You want to get married,

(06:54):
Like all of the pressures of that society towards women
at that time is very much so, like you're only
worthwhile if you're cooking and cleaning and getting married and
having babies, and like that's what you do and if
you're not doing that, then you're not a proper woman,
and like, we don't like you. So it's the pressures
of that and wanting to remain being ourselves and wanting
to not give away all pieces of ourself to become

(07:18):
the perfect woman for our husband. And uh, definitely, there's
a lot of things in that period of time where
they're showing that a lot of the men are abusive
and they don't listen to their wife, and you know,
they drink and they hit their children and hit their
wives and it's all really bad. So we're like, we
don't want to do that. I don't want I don't
want to be a part of that. My mom is
clearly very unhappy. I hate him, I hate her. I

(07:39):
hate that he's drunk and hits her, and she's dealing
with it and wants me to be a wife and
have this life as well. So that's a big part
of the story. But then there's also another story about
like gods and like a god being upset that the
modern world is choosing to use modern medicine instead of

(08:00):
praying towards the god and different gods kind of battling
it out of like who is the god of this village,
because you know, different villages will have different like gods
that they they pray to, So you also have that
going on. And then there's like lots of bullying with
the friends because you know how it is when you're
going through puberty. We have like a best friend who
we were super close with, but now she hates us

(08:20):
because she ended up getting a crush on our other
best friend who's a boy. And there's just lots of bullying, bullying,
lots of bad stuff going So I finished one play through,
and the reason that I say, like I don't I
can't really talk about my thoughts on the story in
full yet is because Silent Hill f is created with

(08:44):
you expecting. They're expecting you to play through multiple times
to experience the game. And it's not just that there's
different endings, but there's gonna be different cut scenes, different
documents that you pick up, different explorable places, Like the
game is different on other playthroughs of the game. So
the first time you complete the game, everyone is going

(09:05):
to get the same ending. You're kind of like locked
into that, and then after that there's different endings that
you can achieve, and it's gonna really tell the story
of what's really going on because you get a pretty
good idea. I'm like, Okay, I know that these themes
are going around and we're basically the biggest one that
I actually understand and feel like I have a good
grip on is is yeah, fighting fighting against no. I

(09:27):
don't want to give up myself and go get married
and end up like my mom being subservent, subservent to
a man that you know abuses me. So yeah, I'm
I'm really really excited to experience the other endings and
really feel like I have a big grasp on the
story because I loved it. I loved all of it. Like,

(09:48):
the visuals are beautiful, the music and audio work in
general is incredible. It I think a lot of people
maybe think it doesn't feel like a silent hill f
but as you're playing it, I think the exploration feels
like Silent Hill f and the kind of digging into
what's going on in the game and trying to figure
out what's going on feels very Silent Hill as well.

(10:10):
And the different endings and really discovering all that stuff.
So uh yeah, I love that. I'm gonna be playing
more tomorrow getting one of the other endings.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
And is there like a narrative in universe reason why
you get like different kind of story stuff on separate playthroughs?

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Ah? Maybe? Yeah, because there is a portion of the
without going into like too many spoilers because the game
technically came out today. Yeah, I played it early access,
but there there is a section of the game where
you do kind of play from two perspectives. So I
can imagine that maybe I don't know. I don't know

(10:50):
for sure because I haven't looked into it, but maybe
the playthroughs kind of you delve more into like those
two separate perspectives. But I don't think it's that scary, no, Okay,
So I okay, I will say if you do not
like body horror, if that gets you, if you don't

(11:10):
like gore and stuff, you're not gonna have a good time,
especially during a couple cut scenes in the game where
people are like, Ooh, that actually really bothered me. Also,
if you have any kind of trauma around, like familial
abuse and stuff like that, I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
I would recommend like, maybe you look up and see
what exactly they're showing in the game. That's like that
if you are interested in playing it. But I had
a couple of people be like, oh, this is actually
bringing up some bad stuff from my childhood, So I'm
gonna dip out and not watch this because it's it's
like they don't the child abuse stuff. They don't show
in like full fleshed four K cut scenes, but you

(11:50):
very much so know what's going on, and they're not
shy about telling you that that that's what's happening. But
in terms of like it being scary, I'd say it's
it's more of a psychological, very creepy, very tense experience
more than like, oh my god, I'm so scared to
go into this room kind of thing. Okay, yeah, but

(12:16):
when you finish the game, it actually there's it. It
brings up an ending thing. It says view endings, and
if you go to the endings that you don't have,
which they have question marks so you don't get spoiled
on like the name of the ending, but it tells
you how to achieve those endings, so you don't even
really need to go outside of the game and look
it up, you know, and potentially.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Yeah, and is it abbreviated. I'm like your next playthrough,
like I know where to go, right, Like at least people.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Said that it was twelve to thirteen hours for your
first play through. I was reading absolutely everything.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
I mean that's reading.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
It out loud and like talking about like theories with everyone.
So it is a different thing. Obviously, there's gonna be
some cut scenes you can skip if you want to
as well. There's gonna be new cut scenes, but there's
gonna be ones you've seen before and you can skip
those ones, which would make it shorter.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
I actually ordered this today. I was gonna just run
over to best Buy and like you know, they bring
it out to your car style deliver it. And I
started watching your stream a little bit. I was like,
I don't know if this is for me. It's just
a little bit too creepy, and I don't know if
I'm gonna get to finish it because Ghosts come out
next week.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Yeah, that's really soon.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
You know, I'm gonna jump on that pretty much immediately.
So but if it's only like twelve to nineteen hours,
I could probably get through it.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
You could get through one place there. It's it's a
there are some jump scares, but there's definitely not a
feeling of like, oh my god, I'm so scared to
go into this room all the time. It's more so
of like what is going on? Or like you see
something very very very brutal happened quite a lot. So
if you're if you're not cool with that.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Maybe I could sit out Roger's lap and he'll kind
of comfort.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
It's a closure you could.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
I mean, I'm sure he knows the whole playthrough of
the game, so you can probably close your eyes when
bad stuff.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
It'd be awesome for anyone that didn't hear the beginning
of the show or just skipping around it, just here's
that part.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Just sitting on Roger's lap, they'll feel better.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
I highly it's uh, yeah, I think it's. I really
appreciated them telling this kind of story. Obviously, there's there's
more than just the womanhood story being told. But it's
it's right there, it's front and center. It's your family
wants you to get married and they're really disappointed in you,
and you're like, I want to remain not dealing with that,

(14:41):
thank you. It's uh, I really enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Combat doesn't really seem to be the point of the game, right,
But is it like acceptable, Like is it fun or
are you just like trying to get through it? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
I So people have brought up that they didn't like
the combat, but I the hits off when you hit
things is crunchy, and the audio is really crunchy too,
So I kind of enjoy that. But you have like
perfect dodges, you have heavy attacks, light attacks, you have counters.
When they're like building up a really big move, you

(15:15):
can hit them with a heavy attack and it will
stop them. And then you have like you can charge
a special move meter and hit them as well. So
you have some stuff going on. It's not like the
most in depth combat, but I think it feels good
and sounds good. And I also the enemy design I
think is really really really good that I never felt like,
oh god, I gotta fight this thing. Yeah, so I

(15:37):
really liked it. I liked I liked everything about it.
I think my only complaint is sometimes when you lock
on with the camera, it's not like keeping the enemy
centered in your site when you're locked on, so it
kind of keeps your sight locked almost. It's not as
rigid as the way that I described it, but I
have I found that I had to like unlock and

(15:59):
relock on to kind of get them centered in my
Is it.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Like you keep pointing the same way even if you're moving.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Around kind of kind of yeah, yeah, so it ends
up like end up being like more over here than centered.
So I'm like, okay, let me unlock and lock again.
But I only know you don't. You only notice that
on like boss fights really because things things don't last
that long.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
You remember when like a bad camera was like almost
the norm in three D games all the time. Yeah,
it was like when there was kind of camera you think,
so it's a good.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Yeah, Like there's so many fights that you're like, I'm
fighting the camera. I can't see I can't see what's
going on, not in Silent Hill, but you know, when
you're playing like Elden Ring eld and Ring Lion Boss
Elden ring Lion Boss, What was going on?

Speaker 2 (16:48):
What was the camera?

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Dinge afriking now lies of p Crocodile Boss, can't see
you goddamn thing? Remember that, boss, the first one, the
big ass crocodile.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
The big in the zoo robot clown was the first one.
Oh sorry overture, Okay, I didn't play.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
That was what I really know. Yeah, the freaking crocodile.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
The freaking crocodile.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yeah, given has gotten way better, but yeah, it's hard
to do and keep them in line with, like, you know,
the expectation of the gameplay.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
But has Got three Neo three is doing a thing
now where uh, if you're backed against a wall, it
will take away the wall. That's what the camera just
takes away the wall.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
So you've seen a few games to that and I
like it. Or it makes the wall invisible or like
it gives you like a gray outline of the but
you could see through it.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah, yeah, I like that.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Yeah, I think that's a good way to do it.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Yeah, Sally Hill f highly recommend. Next week, I'll give
you an update on the other ending. I should be
able to do at least one more. I mean, I've
streamed it for I did stream it a lot yesterday
because yesterday was a really long day. But it's like
three streams.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
So did you get yo Ta early?

Speaker 4 (18:06):
I don't have Yota early. I did get an email
about getting a code, so I'm hoping I get it.
I'm hoping I get it. I can't period.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
I hope I get it.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Because that comes out like next week today, and I'm
hoping that we have a little bit yeah, more than
just today, like one day's worth to talk about.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Oh yeah, I mean interesting point. I will not have
played it yet.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yeah. I watched some reviews on yo Ta today. I
watched one review that reviewed like, you know, the game,
and then I watched the Digital Founder review that review.
You know, they reviewed the tech of the game. They
don't really tell you much about like well the combats
like this now. They just say, well, the you know,
the textures and like you know, when he walks up
the stairs, his foot kind of goes into the stair,

(18:57):
you know, like that's more what they're focused on. But
I mean, it looks good so far.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
Looks good to me. Yeah, like that it's sitting at
what eighty.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Yeah, getting that Assassin's creed Open World score eighty seven?
Wasn't that just basically every Assassin's Creed and mini open
World games in that style, they were always.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Like eighty to eighty five.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Well, let's check by nature of the game shadows.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
What did shadows?

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Let's play a game. You look it up, and then
me and Fran will go up or down from eighty seven. Okay, okay,
so you look at you tell us the game, and
then we'll go up or down.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Assassin's Creed Shadows down down. Yes, it's an eighty eighty one.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Okay, close, okay.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Uh, Assassin's Creed Mirage down uh from eighty.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
One, and we going down from e okay, yeah, that's
down as well.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Seventy six Ouch, rash got pooped up.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
The original Assassin's Creed the first.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
One that's down too.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
I bet that's say eighty one eighty one, there's first one.
Would have impressed more out the gate, I pressed, They're all.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Here we go. I'll tell you there are two two,
two Assassin's Creeds that are higher than eighty seven.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Origin can you get.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
What they are?

Speaker 2 (20:41):
I said, black Flag.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Assassins Creed two and Origins Assassin's Creed two is correct
in a ninety Origins is eighty one.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Oh wow, hmm? Was what about Black Flag? France?

Speaker 4 (20:56):
Guests eighty eight? So it's one point, there's one almost.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Three I got out of the hat regardless.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
No, that's good.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
I wouldn't have noticed.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Putting the three in f M three putting the three
in there. There's one more.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Brotherhood Brotherhood that was that's also brother also as Creed.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
It's like a DLC.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Yeah, yep, there I am.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
What's the lowest rated Assassins Creed?

Speaker 4 (21:32):
The lowest rated is the movie? It's thirty six.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Roger didn't even like it.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Uh, some of the the the DLC for Black Flag
not great.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
I even know there was DLC for that game or
whatever it is.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Assassin's Creed is it seventy two?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Yeah? That game, you bro, that was broken when it
came out. That was the one where the eyeballs would
be hanging and there'd be no face around them.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
That that was really few games that have run into
that craziness.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
Sassage Freed Rogue. I don't even know what that is,
but that's a seventy.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Two bow that's actually interesting to go through because the
point was doesn't surprise me that these expansive open world games.
I'm actually now, wats can you look up what goes
Sushi Mother first got?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
That doesn't surprise me.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
They tend to be in this eighty to ninety range,
like just because there's so much.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Eighty three for initial launch and then director's cut is eighty.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Seven exactly, So it doesn't surprise me. I mean they
try to stretch things out a lot, and honestly, for me,
like Sushi Mo, I'd loved Legends, I forget.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Did Legends launch after but it was like a whole package.
It's certainly.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Yeah, it's interesting because if you looked at it as
a whole package, I think it confused the conversation a bit.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
But if you separate.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Them, that's a great shadow. DALC that just came out
definitely got much lower ratings. I think I might be lying.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
I have to check the Legends. Did Inshot like made
that game? To me? I thought I was pretty good.
It was pretty good one of those, and then the
Legends elevated it to you like, I'll never forget this game.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yeah, and really, so what I'm looking for is this.
My rough review of Go Sushima was loved it. Loved
the style the opening. What a cool, cinematic, incredible opening.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Oh my god, one of my favorite openings that.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Vibe, yes, so vibrant, just lovely all around.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
However, as like you know, a campaign experience, I've found
myself getting to Act three and I was like, oh,
I kind of wish I hadn't done so many side
quests because I'm getting kind of like burnout.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Here and I didn't do like all of them.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
I had just done some, you know, But then what
I realized was, you know, I wouldn't spoil anything.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
Is that for me personally?

Speaker 3 (23:57):
I was like, oh, well, some different weather in the
third ap and like you know, some bosses and story stuff,
but like it didn't progress from a gameplay perspective. So
I'm hoping this one of the gameplay progresses throughout and
they do something to keep you like gaining you know,
upgrades and moves and whatever it is, skill points and beyond.
But you did have to like search all over even

(24:19):
as I recall, I think for some skill stuff and
I don't know, I just.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
I felt like stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Yeah, and like that all that is good in op
world seting, But I just hope if you as they
say the Golden Path of like I'm just gonna do
the main story that it really pulls you through to
the end and again.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
To like do everything in every area too, because like
if you didn't do all the Bandit camps, then you
didn't like take over that area, which meant I don't
even remember what it meant, but it meant something bad.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Yeah, I forget to I felt like you had to
like take over a bunch of camps to then unlock
like a temple thing that then gave you a I
forget exactly.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
I can't remember, but by the way.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
It's awesome game, and like the point really was like, oh.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Well, yeah, as expected in the eighties once you like
dishwater it down the review like taking so many reviews,
but I see that as a good sign. Overall, it
seems consistent with the first one, and that's promising.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
It also felt like such a new original setting that
we had been asking for from Assassin's Creed for years
and years. Yeah, but it's not this time. This time
it's the sequel to that game. Plus we had Rise
of La Ronan and Shadows Assassin's Creede Shadows. It is
like now the fourth game set in Japan, so now

(25:38):
it's like, Okay, I think I feel like they got
to up their game a little bit, like to really
make this, you know, stand out now. But I mean,
you'd better than the last one. So we'll see.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Yeah, And as announced today for it's a Horizon six
coming to Japan, So everybody is interesting.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Yeah, that is interesting. Awesome. Yeah, like a Tokyo.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Drift, Yeah, exactly, kind of get that. Like what was
that anime way back in the day. I can't remember
the name of it. Oh well, initial d thank you
very much.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Good that we have one person that knows that.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
I thought Mexico was a pretty fun spot for that
last time, but a little bit save me. Like, you know,
there's a lot of desert, and I think Japan has
a potential to have a little more kind of biomes.
You know, you could be in the mountains, you can
be in the forest, you could be in the cities,
you can be on the highways. You can do racetracks,

(26:39):
you know, like note and racetracks that actually like Formula
one does you know, like that kind of thing. It
could be fun.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
So many games, for so many announcements like yes for
twelve hours, Dear Lord, have mercy.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
The Sony event was yesterday. I could show trailers today.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Oh yeah we should. We should talk about.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Can we talk about Metroid first before we start with
something because.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
That was a little intertri Yes, going to be fast, Okay.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
I don't know about you guys. When they show started
showing this trailer for Metroid and like, what is this
knockoff Metroid looking game? Really? Yeah, because it was like,
you know, somebody who looked like Sammus in the you know,
the Metroid uniform, riding a motorcycle through basically an empty desert,

(27:31):
and I was like, oh, that's weird, Like they definitely
are like riffing on Metroid. And then you know, she
hops off the bike and oh, this is Metroid Prime.
That's so weird.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Like yeah, I don't know if they've expanded more on
like what that gameplay will be.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
So yeah. For those who missed the trailer yet again,
first of all.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Let me say I've been complaining about this in Nintendo
for a long time. Actually that is in general, but
the specific Demetroid Prime for I'm like.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Why you treating this like I don't.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
I still I just feel like they're always this way,
like ya, And also we got Metrod over here and
like it. I really just wish it launched with switch
to And I'm not going to get into it.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
But I feel like it's always like, oh, and here's a.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Little trailer of another game you might like, as opposed
to like Nintendo. Oh and O like, here's our brand
new Donkey Kong stuff. So we'll see how that looks
going into it. But in other words, I thought the
trailer was like, Okay, they were very focused though on
it was a big reveal, and that's why it felt weird,
was like it was supposed to be a surprise of like, wait,
what this is Metroid and you're like, oh, she's riding

(28:36):
a bike now through the desert, And really all I
saw from that, I don't fully understand this open area.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
And again I don't didn't look into if they talked about.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
It, but it looked to me it looks more like
in between they're doing a little like Star Foxy like
thing on the bike. Without playing it, I'm like, I
don't know if there's be any good or not. I
don't mind that, and actually we'll maybe we'll talk about
Donkey Kong Bananza later. Diving in between layers is actually
really cool. It's refreshing to have these like moments between areas,

(29:07):
so I actually think there's plenty of potential. The bike
looks sick, the design and everything, and like it's it's
very Metroid to get like this is sick, like when
you know, you get a morphball, you get a different morphball,
you get phase on, whatever it is. It's always pretty sick.
And I wonder if they have any bike upgrades, because
any upgrade and Metroid is fun.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
But it definitely came out of left field for me.
I didn't understand it.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
And then yeah, they present it in a way that
makes it look like it's got this open world area
and I just help me out chat if they talked
much about it, I can't imagine that's the case at all.
I'm sure they have a couple zones that you can
play around in and it really gets into this like
starfucks moment.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
But I wouldn't expect like that to be much. I
don't want to be taken wrong with much of the gameplay.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Whether or not that's going to be ten percent or
fifteen percent, I don't know, but I don't know, Brah,
what'd you think?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
I do not think that bike looks sick. I think
that bike, you know, that came straight from the GameCube era,
and it's now like it's on the It's on the GameCube,
but it's been up res you know, like polygons are
higher res but mixtures and like the world is still
like the GameCube original.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah, but okay, whoa, whoa, let's come back to Earth.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Okay, I don't have an Earth background.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
You're talking about visual fidelity though, Yeah, I'm not at all,
of course, I'm already way have you played Nintendo Switch
and Nintendo switched to I have switch to inact best
case scenario you're getting, you know, thirty frames or whatever
on cyberpunk, and that's passibly nice.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
But anyway, my point is I'm not talking about the fidelit.
I just met, like it's pretty sick that this like elongated,
like morphball, very stamus looking bike. I think it looks
from a visual design, But you do not like the
visual design.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Of no I do I like the visual design of
the rest of this stuff. It's that bike in the desert.
It just looks.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Okay, what about it briefly shows it in a dark tunnel. Yeah,
like purple phase.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Better, better, we're getting better, okay, and once once we're
off the bike and we're into Metroid, I also know
that this game is gonna be playable at one hundred
and twenty frames per second, which I'm very excited about.
So like if you I'm giving it like a little
bit of like, hey, it's not gonna look as good
as like, you know, got a war because it's running

(31:35):
one hundred and twenty FPS on a Nintendo switch to right,
So it's like, you know, the Fidelite is willing to
be is gonna take a hit for that?

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Yeah, but they wouldn't have.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I mean, there would have been no reason to capture
that at the one hundred and twenty frame setting, by
the way, so unless they made some mistake, I mean
I just think, yeah, uh, the fact that it's even
gonna run at sixty and hopefully you know, they didn't
push it too far, but even you know, So going
back to game que, Metroc Prime was incredible because it
was for ADP sixty sixty frames a second in two

(32:09):
thousand and two.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
I don't believe that's a time when almost every game
almost had to be sixty frames per second because the
display technology was such.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
That no, you're miss you're misremembering.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
No, I don't think I am.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
You are you talk about like soul calbur on Dreamcast
and Madden. Maybe there was not a lot of sixty
FBS material back then.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
I mean on consoles, Okay, I mean I could be crazy,
but when there was meaning it was like pop the Champagne,
Holy crap, like sixty frames on you know. Yeah, it's
very game dependent, like sure there's there's shooters, be it.
I don't know time splitters came later and but anyway,
don't want to get off track with that.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Getting sixty I remember specifically Golden.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I definitely did not, but.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
I can't tell if he's trolling me now twenty nine
nine seven or fifty nine nine to four anyway, nerdy
stuff aside, I'm still very excited for December fourth, m
s for Prime four. But I uh, this trailer, it's
the end of it that you want to watch, by
the way, So if you do have it up there
in front of you, once she gets off the bike,

(33:22):
you know, just kind of look at what's there and
like that is is looking good? The wolf thing in
there about there's like wolves that come attack you, And
I'm like I don't. That looks a little weird to me,
but it kind of makes sense. They've done stuff like that,
brief moments of like bugs flying at you or whatever
it is. But to me, it still looks like metroy
Prime in other words, and the ending, I'm like, Okay,

(33:43):
this looks pretty sick. Yeah, it's looking like there's some
like production for cutscenes and moments in game plan.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
That's what I would look for.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
On the screen. Right now, I'm showing the amibo. The
bike in the amibo looks better than the biking game.
The bike looks sick in the AMIEBA might get that.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
I mean, it's too I'll have to look it up.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
But they charge one that's dollars.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
But you just if I was like searching to create
you know, content on IG and Nintendo today, that would
have rocketed to the top. I would have been all right.
I want to compare the details on the amibo with
the trailer side by side, and I want to see
that breakdown because it's so nerdy.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
That's a great idea.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
I don't collect ambo.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Like.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
I'm glad I don't because like otherwise I have all
of them, you know what I mean? Yeah, but these
ones are cool. These ones are cool.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, So I don't know, I'm hopeful that the game
is true to the core. And you know, interestingly, as
as I think about what you just brought up here,
it's like, oh man, they got a bike nowt what
do you think you know?

Speaker 2 (34:54):
And really what it is?

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Like, what are you doing to advance the gameplay? And like, honestly,
I feeling most Metroid fans would be more than happy
if you just did everything really polished, you didn't get
off the rails, and so to have something like.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
This, it actually concerns me a little bit. But not
because I think it looks terrible.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
It's just like, how much of this That's not really
why I play Metroid to have like a Star Fox
bike moment, but I think, you know, you could have
some fun with it for these brief moments, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
I I wasn't so sure about Dred. I was like,
I was looking at you, Dread, I'm like, I don't
know about this. I don't know about this whole Like
these things that stalk you and you can't kill them
one of my favorite games all the time. Loved it.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Yeah, Dread's Dread's awesome so but anyway, well, okay, well,
last thing, Dan Bryer, what about I don't know if
you can see it often, but her suit at around
if you want to look at that about minute and
twenty five. I don't know where else you can see
her suit. What do you think of her suit?

Speaker 1 (35:54):
Is it the red suit? Like the new red suit?

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah, it's just like how she's looking. It looks Okay,
so that looks.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
I mean, if she's a little stuck in the eighties
with the shoulder pads. But you know, I'm not gonna
tell her that she's a freaking badass.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
That's the point, man, that's the points.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
If she was a Destiny should definitely be a Titan. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
It's actually I'm not the suit expert here, but it's
actually it's very uh similar, you know to past Prime
suits and uh, you know, I think only changes stuff
up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
But it's the helmet that looks quite different to me.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, it's got her got to cover that up, right.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
You can't let that show in nineteen sixties Japan on
a woman.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
That is well yeah, so anyway, we'll see.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
I'm really hopeful that Nintendo has some prime treatment of
this game. Coming out, you know, a direct doing something
to do with justice and stuff.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yeah, oh that's right, that Troy's out.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
I mean I'm going on holiday anyway, but uh well,
I guess it's out.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Maybe I'll check it out. No, I'm I'm.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Believe being sarcastic that I just I feel like they're
just gonna like, oh, yeah, it's out.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Now, you know we release December.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Yeah. Smash Brothers used to do that actually quite a bit.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
That's the when that comes to mind, I feel like,
maybe Pickman it can be done.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
It's not like the Worst Window.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
It is a game for babies, so it's like a
good Christmas gift. You know.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
That one hits me because it goes back to my
IGN days. But like that used to be like this
weird bro PC PlayStation Defense and Nintendo had like these
baby games, and like Pickman was a joke because like
it was colorful.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Mario, you're playing more like what get out of here?

Speaker 3 (37:55):
These are awesome games, even though they would say that
crap about met TROYD because they were plan like whatever
on the latest Fragger on a PC and I'm like,
go grow up. I Ironically, they thought that it only
had to be like red and gray and like full
of blood and lightning, or it wasn't cool.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Yeah, every game it in the x X three sixty
era was brown. It's just brown.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah, smear of that with vaseline over it because the texture,
you know, you wanted to.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Smooth it out. PlayStation Yes, oh, huge.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
It was huge. It was a couple. It was. It
was a good one. Uh what should we start with?

Speaker 2 (38:43):
I mean, I think we start sneaked. We gotta go
straight to Wolverine. Mm hmm, it was big.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
What do we think whilst we've been talking, did you
have a reaction to Wolverine?

Speaker 4 (38:58):
I think it looks cool. Yeah, I think combat that
looks fun. I like that they are being super brutal
with Wolverine.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Because Wolverine real brutal.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Yeah, so I'm really glad that they're doing that.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
This is not Spider Man, not Spider Man.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
There's also not like X Men, the cartoon animated series Wolverine.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Right, it is bloody. Yeah, that's That's what I've been
saying about.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
It is like they even talk about it in the
I think it was in the direct right where they
were talking about the links they went to with some
of the gore and decision making, and they're like pointed
out that I think it's right.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
He ish, Yeah, watch it goes through a skull.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Ca Yeah, I'm a little off because I was, you know,
it was a little before that.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
I'm watching it on stream with everyone, but yeah, the
claw goes.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Under the chin, through the entire head, out the forehead.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
It's not messing around.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
So at the point where he sticks both claws into
the chest and then tears the in half, yeah, I
was like, I can respect that Wolverine. That is that
is a clutch move. Spider Man, don't do that.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
No. Yeah, I thought it was an awesome gameplay reveal
because it, I mean, Insomniac is like top five, I swear,
with visual execution and their engine and everything.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
It's like unreal. And so you look at it and
like this is like, yeah, well yeah you can catch.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
But I feel like as a gamer, you always, you know,
despite it being on Switch maybe even or whatever, not Wolverine,
but new games, you always like get excited by new
graphics and the fidelity. And I feel like it, you know,
I didn't pick it apart like Digital Foundry would, but uh,
it was pretty freaking good looking and so Omniac Delivers.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
You know, yeah, it was you know, like it kind
of was reminiscent of their Spider Man games a little bit.
But it was like, obviously we talked about the gore
and the violence was like way amped up. I was
actually a little bit surprised how it was. More the
violence in the gore was like on a state of
play event too, you know, like, whoa, I have.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
No imagine the stuff that they're not showing us still,
and they that stuff they got through. But I mean
everything goes through PlayStation Legal, but let me just imagine
this stuff in the game that's probably even dice heer.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yeah. I mean, I'll be honest with you, I'm not
super interested in the Marvel franchise or Spider Man. Like
I'll check out a movie if it's on, but I'm
not really that into it. This movie, this game looked cool, man,
it looked like this would be something.

Speaker 3 (41:40):
I mean, yeah, also voiced and played by an Australian,
even though Wolverine's Canadian. That's fine because we we all
love Hugh Jackman, don't we. But yeah, Liam McIntyre, I
mean he's done some voice work and I thought it
sounded good. At first I knew that it wasn't John Cena,
but the voiceover came in and I was like, it

(42:01):
kind of listen to it, tell me chat leave it
in YouTube comes listen the first line especially, like it
kind of.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
Does sound like John Cena. Not that I would have
wanted him, but.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
But yeah, I mean I think the casting, in other words,
looks really good to me, sounds really good, and I
just think the gameplay looks great. It's I think it
was hard to imagine, you know, how do you meet
between Spider Man and possibly right, like a got a
war style, the PlayStation studios style, and it feels like
they're doing it. I mean, it's little pieces here, but

(42:33):
that's what I wanted, and I'm like, yeah, it looks
like that's what we're getting.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
Did this get a date or was it twenty twenty six?

Speaker 3 (42:40):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (42:41):
Fall? Was it Fall six?

Speaker 3 (42:44):
And then they're gonna do another preview Yeah, bigger preview
event ring.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
The preview spring, so h yeah, super exciting though.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
That was definitely the I mean, that was the kapper
on their big show, I think, because obviously, but it
look dope.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
I mean, it's.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
Definitely it's not I'm not even like a big comic
book savant.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
I wish I was.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
But I've always had a, you know, girlfriend place in
my heart for Yeah, a place in my heart for
X Men definitely. You know, grop watching the X Men
animated series, and you know I love Insomnia x Works.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
So I think it's a big W turn that. Oh no,
it is already as W. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (43:30):
I looked at Marvel and Wolverine and I was gonna say,
turn that upside down.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
It's a W.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
But I's already got a W and Wolverine it does
right there.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
That's right there the beginning.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
I'm a little slow. So yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (43:43):
Man, Uh do you want to go to what kicked
off the show? Because this is another studio that I
really appreciate based on the first game that they put
out on the PlayStation five generation house Mark with Sorrows game,
Yes Sorrows, which this guy Listen. I know you're not

(44:07):
an Indian fellow, Fran, but there are parts where in
this trailer I'm like, that looks like Fran.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
It's it's just I'm not. I'm a little browner and
have a beard.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
Sometimes when I'm like it kind of looks like Fran Yeah.
Funnily enough, in in engine, Rahul in engine looks like
Fran Yeah.

Speaker 3 (44:27):
Vaguely, I could coseplay as Rahul Cooley. Maybe it's funny
that I had the pleasure to meet him a couple
of times now and this is super nice, dude. This
is a dream come true for him, by the way,
if you don't know, rule, but it's a good note too,
you know, just having you know, brown folk as a
lead character.

Speaker 2 (44:49):
And Indian as well, Like you.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
Know, people are very excited for that as well. I know,
Rahul just period like Gloves Games, his dream come true.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Is this a sequel to Returnal or is it like
spiritually a sequel? Is it verse?

Speaker 4 (45:03):
You haven't said it's a sequel or a prequel. They're
just like, you know, the same kind of thing. It's
Returnal So okay, I.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
Get the sentence. It's completely brand new.

Speaker 3 (45:15):
Yeah, world, it's because the gameplay is obviously derivative of the.

Speaker 4 (45:19):
Gameplay is like the same kind of thing. Obviously the
gameplay is like because it's it's bullet hell, it's like
third person bullet hell, uh kind of experience. It's roguelike.
And but you do have obviously new abilities and new
ways to fight enemies, but it is very like you can.
If you enjoyed Returnal, you're probably pretty excited about what
this one has to offer.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
Yeah, yeah, so yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
I mean, I'm assuming they actually confirmed it at this point,
but it's it. It looks a lot like I think
Returnal at first, because that's just what they do. You know,
if you ever played Reso Gun or other stuff from them,
that's just who they are.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Tons of particles shooting a bunch of stuff.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
So I was excited, like, oh yes, I get to
yeah players rule and play Returnal stuff and get all
this time and upgrade to what they already did. That
was awesome with Returnal. So I think it looks sick.
It was definitely a nice opener for the show.

Speaker 4 (46:09):
I'm really excited for it. I absolutely loved Returnal, still
one of my favorite, one of my favorite game experiences.
It's just the combat is super slick. The way that
all of the different worlds are created is really really interesting.
Some of my favorite boss fights period are in Returnal.
There's some really cool ones with like the organ and

(46:30):
when you're flying in the air and stuff is flying
at you, there's some really cool boss fights, and then
the story of Returnal was very like weird and creepy
and kind of trying to piece everything together through multiple
playthroughs of the game. It's just got such a cool
vibe and it's just so fun. It's so so, so good.
So I'm really, really really excited for Sorrow's Yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
I never and I think I got to add it
to my list.

Speaker 4 (46:55):
Dude, you should can't go. That was when so before Returnal,
because this was like a basically a launch title, right,
I was like, I don't really you know, the controller
haptics thing, it's cool, I guess, but Returnal was the
thing that made me go oh, because you could feel
all of the rain in the different parts of the controller.
It is the only game I think that I actually

(47:17):
use adaptive triggers for because they use it to do
different things with the gun, whereas other games are just
like we're gonna make your finger tired. But this was
like it had clicks, so you had different parts of
the trigger stages clicked, and yeah, it was really cool.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Really was the GameCube original right there. GameCube the trigger
used to have a second stage.

Speaker 2 (47:40):
It was amazing.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
Yeah, it's like that. It's it's very good. And we
got a release date which I wasn't expecting. Oh yeah,
it's for twentieth March twentieth.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
Sorry, isn't Resident Evil the twenty seventh of.

Speaker 4 (47:54):
Feby Oh I made a list friend because I was like,
oh my god, you serious with the At the end,
I'll give you the setup of.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
The beginning teaser. Keep listening, but first a break from
our sponsors.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Uh sponsor, dude call uh.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
One thing I wanted to say is completely elitist to nerdy,
but stay with me, is when you watch this footage
of Sorrows, please keep in mind, especially game like this,
it is a lot of like you know, dirt and
all fast moving particles.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Even the four K footage on YouTube does not do
it justice. I've not seen it.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
I guarantee you that it will look so good. Returnal
looked so good, but meaning when those particles are like
vivid uncompressed the contrast, Oh my, these games look so
good in person. So but yeah, I thought it looked good,
but I can't wait to actually see like it unfiltered.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
That's like industry problem. It's like, yes, like they're it
needs to be like someplace where you can go and
get like high bit rate, high resolution footage. So like,
because you can't get niche how good these games really
look until you get them home on your own TV.

Speaker 3 (49:12):
Yeah yeah, I mean it's a digital founder used to
try to do some stuff with that. In fact, they
may on their Patreon for their breakdowns. You know, it's
not like trailers and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
But dude, yeah, I mean that was my.

Speaker 3 (49:24):
Whole uh you know existence you know, as I grew
at ign of like I was just trying to get
the best fidelity. I mean, I can't even tell you
the hours I spent some times of like trying to
encode stuff.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
It'd be crashing.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
And but the point is it really makes a difference
when you can see it like through a better codec
and fidelity. So yeah, I wish YouTube had like an
ultra premium.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Bit rate and let me and it's still not good.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
Yeah. On the topic.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
By the way, if you were in the industry in marketing,
you know, for game depth, please I'm begging you, even
if your trailer is not fourteen forty P capture, use
the fourteen forty P. Upscale uploaded a fourteen forty P
at a higher code at a better.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
Bit rate and simply label it.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
Just make it clear captured intended, because it will look
so much better.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
I'm so tired of I can't believe that this is
not common.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
But whatever the case, uh say, they do have a.

Speaker 4 (50:25):
I'm telling you that they went downhill since you left.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
What they doing?

Speaker 4 (50:29):
What they doing over there?

Speaker 3 (50:33):
I haven't looked, but yes, I am a complete elitist
with that stuff.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
I can't wait to see it.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
But but it was more about like, I hope we
get a short demo because you know sometimes that's you're like,
holy cow, I should see this thing in person.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
I have a feeling it's going to look really good.

Speaker 4 (50:47):
Probably will yeah, nerds. So that was the really big Yes,
got a release date?

Speaker 2 (51:00):
What does watch take?

Speaker 4 (51:02):
And so the thing, it's so funny with Neo three,
I'm like, Neo three is Neo. It's Neo. It's the Neo,
e ass Neo, the most neo and ass Neo you've
ever seen. It's Neo for sure. Later to February sixth.
Now I'm gonna give you all the release dates as
we go, and then then you'll be like it's getting

(51:22):
a little pizzy together.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
That early stuff happening in the games.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
February six. Yeah, yeah, it's funny.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
I was watching Neo. Uh first, I don't know why.
I was like, wait, is this Neil.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (51:38):
Yeah, it definitely is Neo. It looks really nice.

Speaker 4 (51:42):
It's gonna be really fun. It's gonna be great. And
Igen is still doing their month all month coverage of
Neo three first Yeah, Friday and first so yeah. So
they they asked like about how long will it take
and their answer is like, it's really hard to say,
because this could be Neo or it could be the
longest Neal because they have open zones. So like, if

(52:05):
you're really good and you can parry everything and you
can dodge everything, you can just run from boss to
balls to boss to balls and just like be lying
the game and be done with it. But if you're
someone who likes to well, first of all, yeah, it's
really really hard. So exploring is going to make it
easier for you because of the different things that they've
done with exploration. But also if you just want to
explore to find all of the magic and moves and

(52:28):
weapons and whatever you're it will probably be the longest
new So.

Speaker 1 (52:33):
I just downloaded Neo two like two days ago, because
it's one of those games that at some point they
were given away for free, the PS five vers Yeah,
on PlayStation Plus. And I was kind of like, you know,
I've been kind of in this like holding pattern, waiting
for a Ghosts to come out, and I like, I
don't know what to play. It's been raining, so I'm inside.
So I downloaded it, but I wasn't in the mood

(52:54):
to like start a new like hardcore, you know what
I mean. Yeah, Actually, so I played Street Fighter.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
Well it's refresh my memory. How does like the loot
and gear drop and it's a rarity and all this other.

Speaker 4 (53:09):
Stuff too, There is rarity. Yeah. Yeah, So the.

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Way I handle it, I'm tired of, like.

Speaker 4 (53:14):
I describe it as like a like a three third
person three D Diablo kind of loose.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
There is quite a bit of loot.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
Then there's a lot of loot. You're making builds. I
mean honestly, for a long time, you can literally just
equip the thing that has the higher number. It's gonna
be a long time until you start to the world
towards like the mid game that you actually start putting
builds together.

Speaker 2 (53:40):
Yeah, and what I was wondering with like in Diablo,
they've had to make.

Speaker 3 (53:42):
A lot of improvements as a parallel to exactly what
you said there. But they what they did was they
just started increase, you know, the rarities, and they introduced
like where ancestral is what it is, it's like a
glowing version of loot. But in other words, it gets
a little easier once you start separating out the rarities

(54:03):
and it's not like overbearing.

Speaker 2 (54:05):
So I was just trying to remember, is it a
little overbearing still in Neo or no, like if.

Speaker 4 (54:10):
People have always said it's overbearing, like there's a loop
dropping all the time, but now you have two characters,
so you're you're you're getting through more of your loop
because you're just equipping it on on your two different characters.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
That doesn't sound easier, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (54:26):
I love that they were like, oh yeah, I heard
the loots, but maybe a bit of a problem some
of you guys, So we made two characters for you
to kid out.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
Is that it's better and hopefully hopefully it's uh. I mean,
I've never found it annoying.

Speaker 4 (54:37):
Though, I've never found like when I was playing through Bordlands.
I was like, I can't be bothered to look at
all of this because it's it's it's not just rarity,
it's not just number. It's also like little tiny plus
two plus this plus that plus that, which you do
have in in Neo. But that stuff doesn't matter. Honestly,

(54:58):
it could. It could never matter. It could or could
matter right at the end, Like you can definitely get
through playing Neo games without taking into consideration like the
plus one percent or two percent things, and you could
just get oh, I'm running a water build. I'm using
water a lot. Oh this thing increases damage to wet enemies. Cool,
I'll just pick anything that's water because I've I've definitely

(55:20):
done that where I'm like I'm doing water stuff or
I'm doing lightning stuff or whatever. I'm gonna grab whatever
does more damage to lighting.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
Yeah, yeah, as long as the path is clear, I
don't totally mind. But yeah, like Borderlands, for it is
why that's what was on my mind.

Speaker 4 (55:32):
Orland was it was for me, it was it was
I was like.

Speaker 3 (55:35):
Yeah, there's tons of loud they want you to pick
it up and sell it. It's like it's just how
the game is and if you play it a lot,
it's not a huge deal.

Speaker 4 (55:43):
But you can also craft in Neo too, so you
could just be like, I'm just gonna get materials and
craft the stuff that I want and not worry about
picking stuff in general.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
Yeah. Anyway, Yeah, I mean Neo three looking good the
very least.

Speaker 4 (56:00):
But feb Yeah, I figured it because normally they do March,
but I figured it would be sooner. I was thinking, uh,
maybe even January, but February six is like super early feb.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
No.

Speaker 4 (56:13):
No, what's bar are doing? He's got AI eyes, But what.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
Are they supposed to be doing right now?

Speaker 4 (56:27):
I think it's supposed to Is that the ones that's
always supposed to.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Take your glasses off?

Speaker 1 (56:31):
Oh there?

Speaker 4 (56:32):
Or it's the background. It's like maybe the background plus
the eyes is a bit much.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
Sorry, got distract.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
I mean, I just can't tell the intended joke or effect.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
They just there.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
You're always supposed to look at the camera. Yeah, so
if you're looking if you're a video and you're looking
at like script or whatever.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
It was just the eye tracking, yeah, the blinking and
eye tracking.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
I think it's it's the glass sprames that it will
confuse you so yeah, that was all big.

Speaker 1 (57:02):
What else the code Vein too? Baby, I was surprised
by this one. It looked pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (57:09):
Yeah, there's actually like a full gameplay video now and
they have like the creative character and everything in there.
And this is coming out January thirtieth.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
Oh really, that's right around the card Jesus Wat's you
got quite a winter coming.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
I do, I'll meet good right out the gate.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
Something about this character creator that I'm really digging. I
can't really in Code Vein, just something about it I
find very intriguing.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Wow, they are stacked with features.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
You can make them as big as big as you want,
or as little as you want. All right, you can
do whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (57:53):
For those just listening, we're clearly talking about boobs. Again,
we're all adults.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
Does she have a band or is that a scar?

Speaker 4 (58:02):
You can put whatever the hell you want on your character.
They this this was the first, I think, the first
character creator that I was like, Okay, I need all
character creators to be like this because you can take
like when you're making the hair, you can have like
C four or five different sections of the hair. So
if you have very specific look you're going for, you

(58:22):
can make that very specific look. It's yeah, it's it's
really really cool. It's a very good character creator.

Speaker 1 (58:30):
Kind of skipped combat, but it's not happening. A lot
of talkie bits in this game.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
It looks like, yeah, well it's just what they're showing
right now. It's plenty of combat, right.

Speaker 4 (58:43):
Oh yeah, plenty of combat, big combats. Yeah. I really
enjoy Cobaine. I think Codevein had a lot of really
interesting ideas. It had a thing where you if you
you had so if you think of a build and
then you get say, mm hmmm, how would you explain it?
You get abilities from one specific thing. If you fight

(59:06):
with that one specific thing, you master it, and then
you can take that ability onto other specific things. So
you can end up creating a build that's like really
really tied into what you want to do from various
different elements.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (59:22):
I enjoyed it a lot, and having a really good
character creator honestly helps a lot. It makes you It
makes the game more enjoyable for me. That's why I
like Neo two so much more than Neo one. It
to be whatever I want.

Speaker 1 (59:36):
I go with the basic bitch characters. I have no attack,
but instead of the plast one. I have no I
have no patience for the character creator at the beginning
of the game.

Speaker 4 (59:49):
If you can you can just over and over again.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
If you can modify your character at like a barber
shop later in the game, whatce I have like like
gotten into the game and feel a connection to the character,
like I like, I'll go full on. But at the
beginning of the game, I got no interest in it.
I just want to get to the game.

Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
I would just keep pressing random until you get something
that you're like, oh, it's cool, and then.

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Usually just go with the default, put a beard on that,
let's go, let's get out there. What else was in
that PlayStation?

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
Oh, Crimson Desert.

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Crimson Desert, I don't remember that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Crimson Desert was supposed to be out this year and
kept getting delayed. But this is a game that's just
everyone's like, man, it's just it's huge and crazy and
is this game even real? Like what are they doing?
But this they did show more gameplay and they also
have a release date of March nineteenth.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
God, what kind of it's from the Black Desert folks,
But it is from them, Yeah, not that's.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Like an MM RPG.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
It's not one of those, but.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
This is their take on more of the yeah like
open world action.

Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
Yeah, single place.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
That I just don't know exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
Read some stuff to you, but yeah, the Crimson Crimson
does is is an MMO, but this is yeah, single
player experience, open world action, adventure explore. Apparently. The only
the one thing I've heard about Combat is when people

(01:01:38):
go and play it, they have really weird control schemes
where they're like, you press this, this and this and
then that does your superpower move, and then this one,
this one, and this one does your extra superpower move.
And people are like, I think I'll be fine when
I start from the beginning of a character and I
slowly build up to this stuff, but going walking into
a trime event finding a with all of this stuff

(01:02:01):
is very difficult.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Ye neo too. The dodge button is the X button,
and it's like the only button you can't remap in
that game is the circle button. I was like, are
you kidding me? That's the only button I can't remap.
It's like, great out. For some reason, you can't just
like swap the circle in the X button. I was like, oh,
come on, because the circle button is always dodged. My button.

(01:02:25):
My hand just goes there, my thumb just goes there.

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Yeah, that's pretty fair. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:02:30):
You know what I would normally do is I'll switch
if that, because I have experienced that in some games
where it's been X and not Circle, not just Neo.
But I will switch my paddles. I'll switch my paddles
around so this one is in this one, and then
I'm like, there you go. It's basically the same. I'm
using the same paddle.

Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
Good point. You can even do that with the buttons
on PlayStation. I think you can. You can just like
swap the buttons in the PlayStation. UI.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Yep?

Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
Did did Double O seven first Light have a release
date before yesterday?

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
It did?

Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
Uh, I'm pretty sure it's March twenty seventh. I was
just wondering because they had a trailer. They had a
trailer there for that as well.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Yeah, I guess that it had. I was looking at
that too that I didn't read into it, but Eternals
is a gema chan or gema Chan is cast in it,
so it was more of just like think a actor reveal.

Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
M that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
Still looking forward to that, even though Briars trying to
keep me down on it, but double o seven right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
He doesn't like. He didn't like. Actually, let's go back
into a like.

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
He doesn't like a lot lately does He thinks that
t red Prime for looks like trash garbage, you know,
garbage done like Eldon Ring established that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
I hadn't terrible. Yeah, it's all the band h not Look,
you know what I do like that?

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Seven microsofty later beating on a PlayStation for some reason.

Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
Can I get a hotel set up for my PlayStation? Please?
Do they even sell that?

Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
Probably not?

Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
Somebody get me.

Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
Other things that were there. Battlefield six got an official
campaign story trailer for anyone who's interested in that looks cool.

Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Yeah, I didn't take a close enough look at that.
It kind of yeah, it almost passed me by. Its
like it felt like a Call of Duty teaser trailer.
But I gotta watch it more closely.

Speaker 4 (01:04:44):
I guess there's guns and a helicopter and a car
and like, you know, it looks like that.

Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
Yeah, I feel like.

Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Shooting campaign with shooters and army.

Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
Yeah. To be.

Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
Yeah, the footage looks great, to be fair, but it
looks so much like a teaser for you know, what
you'd expect, and like Call Duty has just had so
much of these styles and it makes sense, but like
I wanted to hear I guess confidence from them of
how sick you know the campaign.

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
Is and we just haven't heard it.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
There's been a lot of questions around Battlefield six campaign
of like, you know, for a while, people are like
it's even going to make it out the door because
they had studio cancelations and all this stuff happening.

Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
So maybe I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Yeah, I am excited though for a Battlefield six campaign.
It's just like I want to hear it from them.
Oly cow, my arm didn't get raptured. Crap, I'm not
gonna be able to use my new iPhone Pro eighteen.

Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Oh oh my god, I gotta I gotta iPhone. You
know this for basically free. It's like ridiculous, Like I
have an old iPhone and they're giving me eleven dollars.
They're giving me eleven hundred dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
Yeah, but that only is when you stick to that
plan for three years or whatever and you don't trade
that phone in keep.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Well, as long as you don't get a new phone,
that is a good deal.

Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Yeah, I'm getting a new phone, but I mean in
three you have three years that you have to keep
that same one or you got to pay back.

Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
I've had the last one for three years. It wasn't
upgrading it until it's like, hey, you can have a
free one. I'm like, okay, yeah one.

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
And now it totally is worth it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
By the way.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
Yeah, they just want to make sure you stick with
them for three years.

Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
And actually I agree as long as the people who
get surprised they're like, oh, next year was the eighteen
or whatever, They're like, oh, that's the one I want.

Speaker 2 (01:06:45):
You go to Trader and you have to pay the
phone off otherwise, if you try to, that's how that
deal works. Otherwise you gotta wait till.

Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
Give it away for free. Sounds like bry Yeah, but
that is does good deal if you if you're doing that.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Yeah, I was pretty excited about the Grand Turisma seven update.
It's only it's like some new race circuits, but two
of them are F one race circuits, some new vehicles,
you know, like but still there. I like that they're
updating this game for free and it's still like, you know,
how old is this game now? Five years old. Pretty cool.
I like that four or five.

Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean it's funny that Grant Reasona
was like, it's like its own I don't want to
say sport, but you know how it is like it's
a very specific group of hardcore folks at a minimum
that just like that's all they do, which is awesome,
and it's awesome that you know they've just been supporting

(01:07:42):
it so purely for so long.

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
You know, I don't know. I just like to get
in there and fuck around with it, like that's how
I play it is. I don't I don't spend like
four hours at a clip doing it. I usually race
like a few races, like you know, we're going out
to dinner. It's taking my wife forever. Catches from the

(01:08:07):
podcast now.

Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Too late for that?

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Was that it from Stay to Play? Was there anything
else we want to remember?

Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
There were? Yeah, there was so zero parades for Dead Spies.
I just love the vibe of this game. I just
love it. It's from za z a U M. I
don't know how you pronounce her studio specifically, which are
the people who made Disco Elysium. However, I will say yes,

(01:08:40):
I do know that that studio has gone through a lot,
like the lead run left and well that's the thing.
It's like, it's the studio. It's the studio behind Disco Elysium, just.

Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
The studio, the studio.

Speaker 4 (01:08:56):
There's still some people there, but yeah, they've they've gone
through like a lot of stuff. But yeah, the game
looks really cool. I think the like the art style
of the game, the vibe of the game just looks banging.
I'm excited about it. I'll play for sure. Doesn't have
a lease day, just says it'll be out in twenty
twenty six.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:09:16):
The only other thing was I'm not like super gonna
play it maybe. But Chronoscript The Endless End was a
really cool artistic game where it's telling the tale of
an editor trapped in a manuscript. So when you're fighting bosses,

(01:09:37):
you can see like the books falling over and it
changes like your your arena that you're in.

Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Yeah, this one caught my eye too. This this looks
like a two D metroidvania style kind of thing. Is
that right?

Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
I I don't think it's a metroid vania.

Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Yeah, I don't know about that, but it certainly looks
the stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:09:57):
It's definitely definitely a two D like action adventure.

Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
Yeah, game, but like a really cool art style.

Speaker 4 (01:10:03):
Yeah, very super cool.

Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
Yeah, it's like it's all on a wall. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:10:11):
I think they said hand drawn and like pen style,
hand drawn pen style is this?

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
Yeah, it looks like old medieval aged book you know. Yeah, yea, yeah,
penned drawings and it's.

Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
Doing that like Daffy Duck cartoon where like the hand
is coming in and fucking with the character on the
page too.

Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
That's oh yeah, this is cool.

Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
Dated twenty twenty six, no no official date.

Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
No official I like it looks like yeah, I think
that was at first Sony State to play big.

Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:10:50):
There was a Capcom showcase.

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
Right, But that's why I was.

Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
That's why I was streaming at seven a.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
Yeah, at least it was at three am.

Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
At least it wasn't three am, although three am might
be better at this well, I don't even know. At
seven am is not a good time.

Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
I'm with you on that.

Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
Up at they showed more on Emusha gameplay. This was
showing us like a bunch of MPCs, like a ton
of MPCs. We got to see a lot of that.
We got to see some more Pragmata, which got to
show us some more of the different hacking you're going
to be able to do. It also showed them fighting
in like a like a city rather than the kind

(01:11:35):
of white space station, which was cool.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
I think they unsold me that game based on the
girl's voice that was like nails on a chalkboard to me.
I was like, I don't think I could play a
whole game with this girl like screeching at me the
whole time.

Speaker 4 (01:11:49):
From better, maybe you could change into Japanese.

Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
Yeah, maybe it'd be better because it was it was
really it was really rough. Like right away, I was like,
oh no, I can't play that game. Was do you
remember Rice to Ruin, Rice to Ruin? Same deal? I
love that game. Main character's voice couldn't handle it, couldn't
do it. Yeah, like super high pitched. Like it was

(01:12:14):
like really high pitched.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
Come on, it's almost making a mouse practically just making mouse.
I guess I get that she is like a little girl.

Speaker 3 (01:12:25):
I mean, was she supposed to sound like what do
you want to sound like?

Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
Get over here?

Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
That would be better? I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
Yeah, like some kind of electrical fuzz filter on top
of it to make it computerized for you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
So it's not as.

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Don't you guys ever just have noise. You're like, ah,
never hear that, like you never had a lot?

Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
Oh yeah, I have.

Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
There's a term for like actual what is it when
you know nails on a chalkboard?

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Legitimately even it? Uh, I have that problem, believe it.
Oh man, it's so weird.

Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
I have that problem with so cardboard boxes, you know,
and you're folding the cardboard against the side of the
box itself. It's like and I know, and I'm like,
this is silly. They should body And I'm like I
want to jump out the window. This is a tough
one for me. A little bit with like styrofoam in
cardboard boxes too, so weird.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Scot when clean plates like squeak together, like you're stacking
plates and they kind of.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Like yes, oh yeah, that's like four fork on the
plate depending on the type of but you get.

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
My wife can't use silverware, she has to use plastic.
Stand the sound of metal touching her teeth mm hmm. Springs.

Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
Oh, that's that's another one.

Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
That's like even that's why I made it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Yeah, it's miss Aphon. Yeah, that's what it is.

Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Certain sounds are interpreted, interpreted, misinterpreted by the brain is
threat acting.

Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
I thought that's what you get in haling asbestos.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
I mean that is also a threat on your brain.

Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
Wouldn't do that, I mean unless you're just going to
some old school built in the fifties, which.

Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Yeah, probably all I know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
I think about that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
So every time I hear asbestos, I'm like, oh, I
wonder which of my schools had asbestos just pouring down
on me.

Speaker 4 (01:14:26):
Oh, I'm sure. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Okay, So you don't like the voice, so Briar's out,
But I think.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
Everything else is gameplay. I really want to try that combat.
I might just have It's so good the voices. You know,
usually there's a slider you just turn that shit down.
Subtitles you should be good. But this voice so good,
high pitched.

Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
Yeah, I'm really excited about it. And then Monster Hunter
they showed off their title Update three stuff, which is
their collaboration with Final Fantasy fourteen. They have a monster
coming which is Omega Planetests, which is like a raid.

(01:15:07):
You're basically doing like a Final Fantasy style raid. In
Monster Hunter, you have all the mechanics that you need
to do within Monster Hunter. They're also adding basically two
jobs from Final Fantasy to Monster Hunter. So they're adding
Dark Knight and Picto Mancer. So when you get the
the armor and the weapon for from this boss, you're

(01:15:30):
gonna get a bunch of stuff that you can use
that is basically the Dark Knight from Final Fantasy fourteen.
And then Picto Mancer has a bunch of spells that
they can do. They're drawing stuff in the air. So
this is very similar to the Akama update where they
have it on your on your hot bar and then

(01:15:51):
you have once you equip it, you can do different
things with it with different inputs. So yeah, you guys
to play like two jobs from Final Fantasy fourteen in Wilds,
which is kind of crazy. They have whole cutscenes and
story with characters from Final Fantasy fourteen. You're gonna have
a chocobo Sacred where every time you mount it does

(01:16:12):
the mount Chocobo sound when you get on the mount
in Final Fantasy. Uh, So you got all of that
going on. All of that is there, and then they
also did a little bit of a teaser for Title
Update four which is coming in December, and this is
their first elder Dragon being added to the game, and
it's an elder dragon from Monster Hunter four called gog

(01:16:35):
Mazios also known as Gog. And this is a siege monster,
so think like think like a cove sofi Jieva, like
siege siege monster. So it's gonna be a big one,
going to be a big I.

Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
Played Monster in the World and Wilds and that did.
Those names did not mean anything to me. What's the
you said? Think what.

Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
Whole Tariff and soffie Jeeva?

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Where are they from.

Speaker 4 (01:17:05):
Monster a World?

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
They're in World? Oh, I wonder if it was ice
Was it Ice born? Maybe?

Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
I don't think you ever did any of the like
big fights.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
It's interesting because I mean I beat up put like
eighty hours, I swear, But yeah, like.

Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
A Saffegieva, maybe I did Saftigiva. For weapons, they normally
add siege monsters, normally add like their own end game,
which is what they said. They're also expanding the end
game where you.

Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
Especially like the big moving siege fight.

Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
Things that not like the Terrible Story one.

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
No, yeah, like that's the only one I remember. No,
not that one, all right to self?

Speaker 4 (01:17:49):
Yeah, so it's probably gonna add yeah, like a whole
I would guess some kind of weapon endgame system or
some some kind of end game system they're gonna they're
gonna add alongside this month.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
So did you say the release days are like a
one year versitary type thinger.

Speaker 4 (01:18:01):
That is happening in December for Tile Update four, Tiele
Update three is on Monday night. Monday Night will be
the new title update.

Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
That's great.

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
Yeah, so, uh, pretty crazy stuff. And just by the way,
so this monster Gog he was in he was the
final monster of the lifespan of Monster Hunter for you.
He is being in a not even the final tidle
update for base Monster Hunter Wilds. So the expansion is
gonna get pretty nutty. I think this mansion is gonna

(01:18:38):
be pretty crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
Oh yeah, does the expansion have a release window yet?

Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
No, we don't know. I don't think about it. They're
still doing title updates.

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
They haven't even have they even officially recognized it. No.
Oh okay, it's just sort of like yeah, I mean,
of course there will be a parallel to Ice Born,
we just don't know when and what that will be. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
When would you expect that? Next year?

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Maybe? But I would next year.

Speaker 4 (01:19:02):
Yeah, if a thing. I would say, yeah, end of
next year was like it, it was like a year
and a half, so I would expect two years maybe.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
Yeah, I was gonna say probably just going to be
the February twenty twenty seven kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
They put stuff with Street Fighter, which is kind of
neat they are doing that.

Speaker 4 (01:19:21):
Yeah, yeah they are yeap, that was cool. And then
Monster Hunter Stories three is coming out March thirteenth. This
is their like turn based, turn BASEDPG.

Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
Do you play most Stories? I don't know if you do.

Speaker 4 (01:19:39):
Actually I have played Stories. It's really good. They're they're
genuinely really good games. Yeah, so I would love to
play Boston on the Stories. Sorry, I really would love to.
I think that was mostly it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:19:53):
They got like the Street Fire stuff going on. Yeah,
like remaster ring Mega Man stuff, Mega Man collection. That's
just a collection, okayga, lots lots of stuff happen.

Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
Dot Com continues to be killing it. They're just on
fire right now. They got a new A is an
Ace Venturer collection trilogy updates.

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
It's probably a collection.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
Yeah, yeah. I don't think they actually make those anymore.
They just keep re releasing them in And.

Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
Also, did they give us a date on yet you
said no date for a motion.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Yeah. I also thought you said ace Ventur.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
You meant I'm sorry, my bad ace attorney. They don't
make those either.

Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
I did too, but I was like, yeah, whatever, and
then somebody in Jet said it was like probably.

Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
Good stuff. Honestly, I'm down for that A spent.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
Honestly, I want to be even be surprised. You see
them doing collapsing, You're like, sure, why not? I got yeah,
sure you're collabing with a metal band? Yeah, why not? Sure?
Why not? In like Capcom related news, they finally showed
off Monster Hunter Outlanders, which is their new mobile game.
This is being made by Timmy, so it's like all

(01:21:26):
of these mobile games are made by a different company,
but they're working with the company like Dustiny Rising, same thing.

Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
I played that this week.

Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
Oh did you I want to hear about But they
showed it off. This is this is they're trying to
maintain it as being like a more core Monster Hunter
action game. So you know, there's other mobile games that
are Monster Hunter, but it's like not Monster Hunter, but
this one is you have different characters that have different
play styles with the weapons. So they showed that off finally,

(01:21:57):
and you can also sign up to play the game
coming up here in a month. I think maybe maybe
a couple of weeks. I don't remember the dates, but
you can sign up to play it if you're interested,
because it's not out yet coming on.

Speaker 1 (01:22:15):
Yeah, I did play Dussie Rising on my phone. I
don't know why. I just kind of like downloaded, like,
let's see what this thing is. Yeah, uh, you know
you play with your thumbs on the screen. Couldn't do that.
Had to google how to a counch of PlayStation sixth
controller to an iPhone. That's pretty easy to do and
it works pretty good. So that was that was kind
of nice. Once I did that, I was like, oh shit,

(01:22:37):
this game is kind of fun. Yo, really.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Got them back.

Speaker 1 (01:22:45):
It's not fade that. This is my old iPhone and
it ran final. No, No, I was just I don't know.
I was just sitting there on the couch. Wife was
watching something awful, and uh needs something to do. So yeah,
I started browsing around. I'm like, oh, that's me. That's right.
It's kind of cool man. It's a you play in

(01:23:07):
third person, but when you aim down sites, you know,
it goes down to like first person. Uh the game,
you know, you start off as kind of like a
hunter named Wolf. You got a double jump right off
the bat real early on. You get this like cool
ass sword that can shoot stuff, and then you can
kind of do this like Biserko thing where you just

(01:23:28):
kind of go around, like maleiing the shit out of everybody.
It looks kind of nice considering it's running on my
old ass phone. It plays pretty nice, you know, considering
that it's on a six inch screen. There is a
PC client. I believe they have like an emulator that
runs on PC and you can play it on your PC.
So I started talking to my kid, who is a

(01:23:49):
you know, still a big Destiny aholic, and he's loving
it too. I haven't gotten to any of the micro
transactiony stuff, so I don't know how that's gonna get.
Oh I'm sure that's where I fall off the bandwagon.
But as far as just like this is like a
new Destiny. It's like, hey, we're in Destiny, but this

(01:24:10):
is like a new look at everything new you know,
same races, but new enemies, like new characters, new places
to explore. Honestly, I was kind of digging it, and
I think I'm gonna keep you know, when I have time.
I think it's gonna be my like, oh, I have
an hour to kill while I wait for my kid
to come out from this like d MV Driver's Test,

(01:24:32):
that's what play, you know what I mean? Like, it's
pretty fun. I'm just rust how good I much saw.
I liked it. I thought it'd be like this sucks,
not Destiny. This is some cheap o timo Destiny. No,
it's it's kind of fun. But again, I haven't gotten
any other like the weird stuff, like the you know,
the gotcha stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
Everyone seems pretty happy with it, and I think especially
for people who are disillusioned with Destiny and they're wanting
like new Destiny, then this is you know, you're jumping
into the game that you know, and they have done
a good job at keeping like pretty accurate to the
Destiny feeling, and then you haven't you have a new

(01:25:14):
Destiny experience right there.

Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
Yeah, it does feel like, oh my god, this is
a no brainer. Why didn't they make this a third
person game all along? Because now when I find shit,
I can see it I'm my character.

Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
Yeah, I'm just laughing because one I'm like, well, I
wonder how much it. Yeah, I'm curious what people think
once they get deeper and deeper into it, as you're saying,
but how much is that like I'm just glad it's
all new stuff, right, we've been hanging on to at
the very least like whatever it is seven year old
content mixed in there, you know, with years old content.

(01:25:50):
But yeah, curious how much is that like new car
smell where you're like, oh man, it's just so nice
to drive this new thing, and like, cause that's the thing,
like destiny at its core, if you don't know a
lot about.

Speaker 2 (01:26:01):
The ins and outs that it's pretty fun.

Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
It's once you really start getting into it and how
long you've been into the same things, you know, so
not to take away from it, I am curious, Yeah,
how people who enjoyed it at launch and maybe you know,
wat so people still like to let's call it up
to this week, that is there any you're heard that
people are still like they're still really digging it.

Speaker 4 (01:26:23):
People were prepping for the raid that came out. The
raid has leaderboards, so they're trying to like stay at
the top of the leaderboard. If you're within the top
one hundred, you get an animated emblem. So people are
really like keeping an eye on their leaderboard ranking and
like trying to stay up there with the raid. So yeah,
I think I think people people who are playing, who

(01:26:44):
have started playing it, are still playing it.

Speaker 1 (01:26:46):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
Oh excuse me, but I was also laughing because yeah,
remember they were making a third person Destiny game that they.

Speaker 4 (01:26:53):
Canceled, so they were like.

Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
That would have potentially been a much more high polished
different version of that. I mean, we don't know the
exacts of what that project was that Luke and believe
Mark had been well maybe it was mostly Luke, but
former heads of Destiny to content and stuff were working
third Person No Go on part of the downsizes. Man

(01:27:20):
caught a lot of folks. So yeah, I mean, man,
I wonder if we'll ever see leaked footage from that
one day. You know, I'm only laughing against I'm like,
I just wonder if you have people had seen, like
you seeing something new that.

Speaker 2 (01:27:33):
Yeah, this third person Destiny. That's part of what made
me laughing, Like, oh, if people just saw a trailer
for that, they would have been like, yeah, let's go.
I don't even know if it would have mattered, because
like it's just it's new, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
We want something new, you know. Yeah, I'm not trying
to take away from destinyizing I have not played enough.

Speaker 1 (01:27:49):
And I don't appreciate.

Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
The epic what is it?

Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
The epic rate is also this weekend for Destiny, Edge
of Fate and all that, you know, Desert Perpetuals.

Speaker 2 (01:28:00):
So they got another world's first race coming up.

Speaker 1 (01:28:03):
I got some other activities planned here now, I.

Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
Mean that was the most of it for Destiny, right,
the latest updates, I think, right, isn't it mostly just
the epic raid? And a lot of people are.

Speaker 4 (01:28:15):
Like, I'm like, I throw on some videos in the
background now and then, but I'm so far removed from
it now it does get a little difficult.

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
Yeah, people didn't like Ash and Iron major update a
ton like the regular players and trying to make it
more rewarding. But they're trying to fix some stuff. But
then they're like, Okay, well we got this world's first
epic raid happening. So but those are fun to watch
if you're into watching raid races. I'm usually trying to
avoid that for spoilers, but I'll be curious, you know,
if people were watching it like a second time in
this format.

Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
I think they've had the uh actually.

Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
This is the first, like Epic Raid Worlds first, right,
so you know that's something to look out for. There's
emblems out there for it. I believe I have that, right,
So it could be interesting to you if you're into it.

Speaker 4 (01:29:00):
Oh yeah, did you want to hear the release dates
for what are? Beginning of twenty twenty sixth?

Speaker 1 (01:29:05):
Wasn like you know, I do?

Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:29:08):
January thirtieth, Code Vein February sixth, Neo three February twenty seventh,
Resident Evil nine, March thirteenth, Monster one hundred Stories three
March nineteenth, Crimson Desert March twentieth, Sorrows March twenty seventh,
Double O seven, First Light. I think those are like
the big ones that have been announced so far, because

(01:29:30):
obviously there's not We're still we're still in September. The
Game Awards hasn't happened, Like there's a lot still left
to go.

Speaker 1 (01:29:37):
Yeah, at least two more games schedule for this year
are gonna get delayed till early next year.

Speaker 4 (01:29:41):
Oh yeah, this is it's already like okay, and these
are like pretty pretty big game releases, like Codevein maybe
not that big, but yeah, yeah, they're they're pretty pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:29:52):
There was like three in there that I consider, like, oh,
I'm gonna buy that Day one like Resident Evil by
day one at yeah, double seventh, Day one. I can't
remember the other one that you.

Speaker 4 (01:30:02):
Said, and then that Sorrows probably.

Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
I can't remember. That wasn't one kind of looks interesting
to me. I don't know like about that, but it
looks cool.

Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
No people are there.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
I think most people are curious how like perform and
then you know, just from an action AIRPG style, like
how's it.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
Going to feel?

Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
I think there has been some hands on but yeah,
it's one of those open to questions, so.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
I think so.

Speaker 1 (01:30:28):
Yeah, Rescuda mentioned the chat. It's like he said, I
swear it was back in the three sixth area that
Capcom launched Lost Planet in January and found success that
they've just been doing it ever since. It's true, man, Like.

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
It's true. There was. Yeah, obviously there was.

Speaker 3 (01:30:45):
There was a big fight for the end of the
year and like it went on for a long time.
But like with the call of duty and like many
big hitters, that.

Speaker 4 (01:30:53):
Just screw you. We're going January Febry.

Speaker 2 (01:30:56):
Bit Yeah, well Annuary February. And at first like yeah,
I think there were, but then it created this like
secondary I mean now it's just it's gaming all year, Like.

Speaker 4 (01:31:08):
It's all year. It used to be like specific things,
right because it would be like you want to get
out before Christmas so that you're part of like the
Christmas sales and you avoid summer because no one's playing games. Yeah,
Now it's like whatever, people buy games all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:31:21):
Who cares, Uh, there's one in there though, they look
up that we have to include.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
Oh wait, when's it coming out. I'm gonna look at
it right now.

Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
People do a lot more games than they used to.
It used to be like you buy it like two
three games a year. Your rich friend got like four. Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:31:42):
Yeah, I guess we may not have the date for you.
But the call to LAMB DLC keep that another deal.

Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
Yeah, expansion, it's their face paid expansion.

Speaker 2 (01:31:53):
Yeah, paid DLC big expansion.

Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
So like, yeah, an actual big change to the game.

Speaker 2 (01:31:58):
Yet you re released on that, Yes, that would be good.

Speaker 4 (01:32:03):
Yeah. Oh. Hades officially came out, and Hades two came
into one point. Oh by the way, currently the highest
rated game of the Year.

Speaker 1 (01:32:14):
That's crazy. Are you kidding me? Not? Wow, that's unsurprising.

Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
Unsurprising to me.

Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
Yeah, I mean just Hades the first one was so
good at won Game of the Year Awards and all
all that fun stuff, and I think it is a
it's interesting because this has been in early access for
a while and I feel like it has Do you
think that's why you say that, Brian, Like why does
it surprise you?

Speaker 1 (01:32:36):
Okay, I'll be honestly, I I'm on the hate train
for Hades. I just I don't like roguelikes, so it
just didn't didn't appeal to be. But like this year,
I feel like there's just such good there's just gonna
be such an interesting conversation for Game of the Year.
Like like there are some like there's some lefties out there,

(01:32:59):
if you know what I mean. Like there's something like
there's some south plaus coming up, Like who would have
thought Kingdom become Deliverance too would be like on people's
Game of the Year list, right, Yeah, Expedition thirty three.
Who would have thought? I mean, Shanoby to me, I
mean right now, that's my lock. It was unbelievable. Yeah, Blueprints,

(01:33:20):
like the puzzle game. People are talking for a game
of the year. When's the last time that happened Tetris
in nineteen seventy two.

Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
Yeah, there's been, it's been.

Speaker 4 (01:33:29):
There's a lot. Yeah, there's a lot. This year. We
still have Ghost of Violte coming out, We still have
Ninja guid In, so I still have some pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
Big I forgot about.

Speaker 2 (01:33:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
I think this is one of those years, Briar, And
your action is fair. It's more that there's not like,
it's not a you know, let's call it a red
dead redemption two years.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
Yeah, Teurs of the Kingdom. It's not like a major
franchise that.

Speaker 3 (01:33:53):
Sticks in your mind that you're like, oh Kingdom Colm,
like Expedition thirty three, which is brand new, and but
Hades is getting big now.

Speaker 2 (01:34:00):
But but yeah, I think.

Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
That's what it wrong, is right, It's there hasn't been like,
you know, yeah, there wasn't. For example, if there was
a new Maria that had come out that was incredible,
I think people would be talking about that more loudly
as like a Game of the Year candidate or whatever,
and that would make sense to you, right where these
are like, oh my god, it's a bunch of these
like indies or newer franchises.

Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
So well, I'm loving it, Like I can't wait for
a Game of the Year time. Like so I like
when we do our Game of the Year podcast and
we like try and like hash it out between us,
like we're pretty not go convertational about it, but I
really like the podcast that like just get into it
and like, no, this one is better than that one.
What makes it better? Like how you you're mustard is

(01:34:43):
better than my ketchup? Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
Yeah, yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:34:47):
I'm a snob about that, as you guys know, and
like I just I'm always gonna remind there is no such.

Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
It. Shut up. But no, that's why I don't. I
don't have a Game of the Year conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:35:00):
I was gonna say, screw the Camps. I hate the Camps.
I brought it down at one point because of the Camps.

Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
I'm gonna prior.

Speaker 4 (01:35:04):
You don't understand emotional attorney or connected with capers and
video games, and where there we go, we'll fight.

Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
You're used to long drawing out people talking about their
feelings way more than anybody would ever do you watch anime?

Speaker 4 (01:35:20):
So I'm like three seasons in waiting for these characters
to finally start dating, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:35:24):
Second. But the point I was trying to make they.

Speaker 4 (01:35:28):
Don't talk about their feelings. That's a problem, that's the problem.

Speaker 3 (01:35:31):
Actually, yeah, the point I was trying to make is
that people talk about Game of the Year as if
it's the Game Awards, which is like, yes, hundreds of
people and a bunch of outlets, and I think that's great.
But there's many Game of the years and people lose
track of that. And I've been super passionate about that
to always try to remind folks. And I mean, I
get why popularity is often going to be talked about.

(01:35:53):
It's like it's like the Oscars now, and so I
get that, but you may or me, and I know,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
I brought it up on the Sho show that I've
worked on a project this year. I'll probably promote it again.
I should be for the Year's up, but called the
final award. So I put together twenty two reviewers in critics.

Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
So yeah, if nobody's seen this, you know, I don't
want to be shamelessly plugging, but don't make any money off.

Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
I did it for fun, you guys shoul check it out.

Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
So I had, you know, like, skill up, Paul.

Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
Tassi, folks from IGN, Stephen Tootillo, Victor Lucas if you
know him, from Electric Playground, myself, Greg Miller Grubb, a
bunch of folks, twenty two of them, and was like, well,
what does Game of the Year look like for twenty
twenty four when you've had the time to play everything,
reflect on everything, and what's the runner up?

Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
As well? So I'm like, what's the game of the year?
What's the runner up?

Speaker 3 (01:36:43):
They're both super important because there is it's like to
say there's just one is but also what.

Speaker 2 (01:36:47):
Were the nominees? You know?

Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
And so maybe for this week if you haven't checked
it out, check out the final award. But I'll and
talk about it maybe next week or and coming weeks. Again,
I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
Leave you to do some research. How do I watch this?

Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
It's not a video, I mean it needs.

Speaker 3 (01:37:01):
To I need to put I should have made a video,
you know, it's time. But it's a website. Actually you
can go to the final award. I made a logo, dude,
I so part of it was I wanted to challenge
myself to like the og This is how I got
started in the industry. It was like a passion for
like you know, at the time, I was trying to
learn HTML and stuff like that, but I because of
my passion for a game award, I was like, well

(01:37:23):
let me see can I even it was very hard
to wrangle folks when I have you know, it's just me,
like what do I have to offer you? Like I'm
not at IGN anymore. But I know a lot of
those folks. So I wanted to give it a shot,
and this is what I ended up with. But it
was it was interesting. Sure you can maybe guess, but
I'll leave it till next week. See if you can
guess what the nominees and the there were five major

(01:37:45):
okay pops.

Speaker 2 (01:37:48):
I wanted him to go. I wanted to see if
there be any foot traffic from this at all. But again,
I make no money. There's no there's zero dollars in this.

Speaker 1 (01:37:57):
It looks.

Speaker 3 (01:37:59):
Yeah, I made the side, you know, I I mean,
it was a pre fabbed logo, but then of course
I turned it into this and but yeah, I put
all this together and I was really proud of it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:11):
So yeah, check it out.

Speaker 3 (01:38:11):
We ended up with five nominees Prince of Persia, Indiana,
Jones's Great Circle, Final Fantay Seven, Rebirth, Pilotro, Astrobot.

Speaker 2 (01:38:18):
Those were the five.

Speaker 1 (01:38:19):
And who put there?

Speaker 3 (01:38:22):
Dude, I mean these twenty two it was based on,
but it's not this was not a conversational. That's the
other thing about this that, you know, I would have
liked to have more of that. But oh it was
multi there's literally the names are under the judges twenty
two different people. But it was a vote down, so
multiple vote downs sort of landed on these are your

(01:38:43):
top choices, and and.

Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
Yeah, I was I was just happy to see those
five get nominated.

Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
But then yeah it was Astrobot still ended up with
the Game of the Year, but Bilotro was the runner up,
so I was happy to see that.

Speaker 1 (01:38:56):
I think that's fair. I think other than Final Fight,
check out those games deserve that or they're amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:39:02):
Yeah, the Final Award you can also I put up
like a Twitter post about it. You could easily find
it via Google, I'm sure, but but yeah, the point.

Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
Is it's going to be very interesting if you do
it again. For twenty twenty five. I want to try
to get this year is those years go fight to
the death of bloody fight out there.

Speaker 2 (01:39:20):
Yeah, it was really interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
I got Roger on my side this year, so look
the fuck out.

Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
And that was all the play. You know.

Speaker 3 (01:39:29):
This wasn't uh you know, meant to be just like
a promo. It really is interesting. Yeah, like I so oh,
and I didn't mention, but I had clear criteria. Right,
this has to be paid content. Uh, it's not free
to play. There's no early access and that was the
point of all this too. Where it gets confusing. We'll see, well, Haites,
one of the best games of the year reviewed so far,

(01:39:49):
show up as a it already won a Game of
the Year in the past, and like it tends to
be interesting when people already thought of it in early access,
probably as a Game of the Year candidate, and now
it's like, well ten, it's this.

Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Year, right, and like how do you parse through all that?

Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
Indiana Jones, by the way, was not eligible because of
the cutoff. You see, to try to get game wards
out in December, and this was very intentionally. I wanted
to get it out at like the end of March
or April, but it took so long. Like again, like
I only have so much currency to chase people down,
but I.

Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
Had a bunch of so easy to nail down, like exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
Yeah, well it's not even.

Speaker 1 (01:40:26):
They're so they're so easy corral.

Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
It's the most impossible.

Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
No, I was grateful.

Speaker 3 (01:40:33):
I mean, I'm emailing all these different people chase them down.
They got stuff to do that actually supports their lives.
So I was grateful.

Speaker 2 (01:40:40):
But anyway, it didn't go out till like June last
year during the Summer game Fest. But it's really interesting,
so we'll see what games of the year there are
this year was the point I was trying to make.

Speaker 4 (01:40:50):
So I my thing, my biggest thing with the whole
game of the Year conversation in general, like whether we're
talking about the Game Awards game of the Year or
like your personal favorite experience or whatever. I just like
the conversations that it creates, and I like looking back
at the past year of games and appreciating the experiences
that we've had, because yes, I mean January, it was

(01:41:14):
so long ago, but that was Kingdomcome Deliverance, you know,
and we've had a crazy year. So looking back and going,
oh my goodness, do you remember that game? And then
do you remember that moment in that game that was like, Okay,
this is one of the best things I've played this year.

Speaker 1 (01:41:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41:27):
Yeah, And that was a big part of it is
you know, I've talked about a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:41:31):
It's like we forget so quickly, like all these amazing
games because we're in the new year and everybody's just
talking about what's new.

Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
And that was where I came to grips where I
was like, this is a good thing.

Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
I mean, I don't have a lot of like traffic
currency again to get this in front of people, but
I was like re upping on the discussion. I think
is really important for Astrobot, for Blatro, for Prince of Persia, etc.
Because we're always talking about like what just happened this
week instead and then we're mad later where we're like, ooh,
it never got a sequel, that studio went out of business.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
It's like, well, so we live so much in the moment.
You know, what's Prince.

Speaker 1 (01:42:04):
Of Persons Studio working on? Now?

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
Like studio no, no, they're we think they're working on Rayman.
But then didn't they just announce that they were definitely
working on something else. Maybe it was just the next Rayman.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
They officially talked about it or something, but to be
soft Montpellier, I know they helped with something else that
you'd be soft too, but.

Speaker 1 (01:42:25):
That came criminally understood.

Speaker 2 (01:42:27):
Yes, it's great to bring it up again, exactly. Yeah, well, m.

Speaker 1 (01:42:37):
Yeah, I guess what I want to talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
We can wait on DK bonanza, but uh, you want
to talk about K I think we'd just.

Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
Save it for later. It came up months ago.

Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
It's up to you guys, but I think save it
for the next next week's But in short, uh.

Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
Fantastic game.

Speaker 3 (01:42:57):
And I was still surprised that there were so many
like tens and hundreds out there of it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
I mean, it's fantastic, but didn't have that like wow,
my yeah, so more to say later maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:43:12):
Interesting. Well, next week we would have been playing Ghosts
of Tsushima.

Speaker 1 (01:43:18):
Yeah, I mean day hours at Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
What, I don't know what time it hits.

Speaker 4 (01:43:27):
I would assume it's like a midnight release, so nine
pm for Pacific the day before.

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
Yeah, so I guess it is like it's a Wednesday
night release. I guess that checks out Thursday.

Speaker 4 (01:43:42):
Day, I think, unless unless they're saying they can't possibly
meet and when they say the second. No, No, you're right.

Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
It's normally the day before even so yeah, I mean,
I guess we might have a little bit of time
before then.

Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
The best Buy opens at ten. I just ordered the
night before. I park my ass over there. They bring
it out to my car.

Speaker 3 (01:44:02):
While you're sitting there playing Destiny Rising on your brand
new phone.

Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
I mean, life, dude, I'll get a solid eight hours
in before the podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:44:11):
COVID was a set up, a bitch, but this bringing
it out to my car thing that that was a benefit.
Also when you had.

Speaker 4 (01:44:17):
To go somewhere and there was no traffic like that
during that period. We had to take Bellot to the
emergency that quite a few times. It was great. Took
me ten minutes to get there and so like twenty thirty. Yeah,
it was wonderful, wonderful time.

Speaker 1 (01:44:31):
I didn't I didn't have to use the left lane.
I was just swerving all over the highway. I looked
like I was warming up my tires and f one,
I'm like whoo.

Speaker 4 (01:44:42):
And then there's me going police. There was a man
on the highway who appears to have something very wrong
with him.

Speaker 2 (01:44:49):
They're like, yeah, we don't really go out there right now.

Speaker 1 (01:44:51):
Anymore you throw beercats at.

Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
Me on it at home? Can I can get him
on a Zoom call and check in.

Speaker 1 (01:45:01):
Zoom. Actually deleted Zoom off my phone like two days ago.
I was like, I don't need this anymore and that's fine. Yeah,
Zoom sucked.

Speaker 4 (01:45:09):
Zoom messed up my audio really just like change. I
had to like redo all of my audio levels because
it just did something for ethics. After I.

Speaker 1 (01:45:20):
I just associated with the bad times. So I don't
want to use.

Speaker 4 (01:45:24):
It's only old people use Zoom.

Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
That's not true. It's I mean, I don't use it freakingly,
but it.

Speaker 3 (01:45:30):
Is like if you work at an office, they're using
Zoom or teams.

Speaker 2 (01:45:35):
Unfortunately, it's pretty much it. I think.

Speaker 4 (01:45:37):
So you signal signal is good actually signal for a
voice and video call.

Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
Yeah, I didn't realize.

Speaker 4 (01:45:45):
And cryptid yeah they do.

Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
And so the government doesn't know what you're up to.
It's smart like all.

Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
That sounds good?

Speaker 3 (01:45:53):
Yeah, private, Yeah, when the government is looking at a signal, uh,
no problems at all.

Speaker 1 (01:46:05):
We're trying to take away a freeze first Amendment.

Speaker 4 (01:46:09):
It's true, it's true. I'll talk about that after the
ninth and I'll tell these guys why after we in
the show.

Speaker 1 (01:46:19):
Oh okay, let's wrap this one up. Guys, thank you
all for joining us. We'll see you next week.

Speaker 4 (01:46:24):
Thanks everyone.

Speaker 1 (01:46:26):
I think we'll be back from the rapture. I don't
know how long does the rapture usually last.

Speaker 4 (01:46:30):
I think you're there forever by the way, I don't know.
Maybe maybe you could like pull some trousers down on
or like whip people with.

Speaker 1 (01:46:37):
Towels and everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:46:39):
Yeah, macho man over here.

Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
And I believe he has got all the intel on
our our plants there.

Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
So Randy Savage, I haven't even seen him. Where is he?

Speaker 2 (01:46:49):
Easy? Couple of raptures now, don't you remember last rapture?

Speaker 1 (01:46:55):
I wasn't invited the first one.

Speaker 4 (01:46:56):
I was invited to first one, First party, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:47:00):
Second Bye bye m
